A Devotional for Freyr on a Summer’s Day
Exalted father of harvests’ bounty, Generous bringer of feast and flower, We see you this day in the beaming sun.
Revered guardian of fledgling seeds, Nourishing lover of all that grows, We hear you this day in the gentle breeze.
Beloved tender of soil and field, Devoted grantor of plenty and bloom, We feel you this day in the budding summer.
Praise the son of sparkling waves! Praise the uncle of treasured splendor! Praise the groom of wild beauty! Praise the brother of golden grandeur!
Hail Yngwi Freyr!

Pretty amusing to notice that I never run out of inspiration when writing devotional texts to Óðinn! Funny how that happens.

This is a Hellenic pagan post, so fish/animal followers... you can hang, if you want.
Fellow followers/worshippers/devotees of the Greek pantheon, I have a question. I guess this is primarily for Aphrodite followers, but I'm putting it out there for all.
Is it inappropriate to offer *pleasure* to Aphrodite? Is that act considered miasmic and, therefore, an inappropriate devotion?
I saw a video on TikTok (yes I know I shouldn't get my pagan practice stuff from there) that was talking about how HelPol practices needed to be closer to the original Greek and that sex and its fluids are miasmic and can't be offered. That it was disrespectful to do so. Someone in the comments also said, and I quote, "the gods find us humans gross".
TikTok pagans and witches have regularly made me feel crappy and discouraged, so I wanted other opinions before I let my bad feelings run rampant. My feelings are that Aphrodite is a goddess of sex, love, and beauty and so offering the sensations of pleasure doesn't seem incorrect.
Thank you for your time. Feel free to answer this in asks, DMs, reblogs, or in the replies. However you feel comfortable.

FATE: A Message from The Fates
"There is a spindle of thread Spun just for you; Measured to the perfect length For all you shall do; Cut when the time is right And Death comes for you. Your life is an endless maze Of twists and turns, Branches of Fate everchanging With every decision you make; Your birth and death Are written in the stars; Faces you are destined to meet And places you are fated to go, But not everything is set in stone. You do have some power In this journey you call life; You do have some control Over how you handle its strife; But your time on this earth Should not be approached with a knife. You mortals struggle with the fact That you have no say in life's path; There are things out of your control And you must learn to adapt With every new ebb and flow; Fret not over the things That do not fall within your reign; There are some things in life That you simply cannot change. Do not fall victim To the worry inside your head; Do not spend your life hiding away With crippling fear and dread; There are things in life That still need to be said. There is comfort in learning To surrender your need for control; There are lessons to grasp When life takes a heavy toll; You need not worry Over what others think or say; It is not your responsibility To pander to their selfish way; Focus on your own journey. Allow us to teach you How to handle these facts; For there is nothing you can do To change all of life's acts; But there are actions you can take To control what your life attracts."

Ever since David Lynch left Earth, I will sometimes be watching an older movie and think "Either David Lynch saw this, or he would have loved it, and in any case their movies are talking to each other with their hands across space and time," and it gives me a warm feeling. Not exactly a sentiment, but an excitement, like the fuzz of electromagnetism. Noticing these potential conversations and making them up in my mind is part of what sustains my life, and I like to think it reaches him somehow. Small devotionals for a beloved ancestor.

Summer heathen thoughts
The breezes that feel like sips of cold water make me feel like Freyr is all around me.
The shimmering fields dancing in the sunlight remind me of Sif.
The suspense and smell of stormy summer nights makes me feel like Thor is passing by.
The salty air blowing across beaches and waves reminds me of Njord.
The beaming rays that sear with beauty makes me feel like Sol is visiting, observing overhead.
Hail Freyr, to your Flora and Fauna!
Hail Sif, to your Golden Grains!
Hail Thor, to your Thunder and Might!
Hail Njord, to your Hard-won Bounty!
Hail Sol, to your Celestial Light!

Hail Loki!
Hail to the change-bringer!
Hail to the challenger of oppressive order!
Hail to the god of the disenfranchised!
Hail to the protector of queers!
Bless us and walk with us today
Loki, you who shift your shape to suit your whims,
Be with me through all of my days
Bless me with the wit and cunning you possess
So that I am faster than my oppressors
Grant me your swift tongue and charm
So that my enemies can't strike me down
Bless me with your strength, your grace, and even your bullheadedness
So that I may not falter in the ongoing fight
Hail, Loki!
Hail to the father of the Othered!
Hail to the god of the outsiders!
Hail to the one who laughs!
Hail to the shape-changer!
May I be worthy of your grace and gifts, today and evermore
