Considering I’m watching the first Resident Evil movie again. It’s getting close to the famous laser scene. Again I just wanna talk about this before I get back to watching Hey Devuh’s video of, “Resident Evil 2: What Made This Game Amazing!” I’m at 9:30 on the video.
This is all just my opinion. I’m seriously disappointed by the fact the sequels focused more on action rather than horror. While the 2002 movie isn’t a perfect film, it’s flawed yet it’s fine but it has quite the effort and the people behind the film knew what they were doing.
While I have gripes about the first not using characters from the first game. Despite I read comments under a video featuring the ending of this movie where they didn’t do that because it would be predictable(Like I would give a shit), and I read some where Capcom demanded the movies have an original storyline(I don’t know if this is true or not). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyFCmSD4uDs Basically replies to this comment by UnrealEntGaming.
The 2002 film while a loose adaption, felt like a nice representation of the games. In a weird way I feel a film like Rampage 2018 is comparable. But that film while it had changes still felt like a adaption that still used characters from the game and....I wanna say respected the source material more. But that depends on your personal opinion if your a fan of the Rampage games. Mainly because I know a friend fine I’ll mention him @lovezdarestevez4ever she doesn’t hate the movie but she felt it could of been different and I get her points.
Back to the point it could also be the fact the later RE films make this film look better. But I also feel and the way the production seemed to be like they were trying to make the best film they can. Despite not using characters like Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and a story that seems more respectable to the source material.
Especially I have talked to myself about this how the movie is like a different point of view. Yet with some references to the first game. This time the group being from Umbrella, and other references to that first game. With the movie using elements from some of the games.
I’m rambling on I’m terribly sorry. The point is I liked the 2002 Resident Evil film. I’m disappointed the rest of the films took a more action based direction compared to how the first film tried to build on that horror and other things. Including sideling the games major characters for Alice, a character I actually don’t hate. But I feel like the direction they went with her took away from the fact the games were survival horror.
Even if I like some details from the later movies. Again glad it’s getting rebooted. Other than that, these first 6 RE films happened. Now we just move on from that.
Alright I gonna get back to watching that RE2 video I mentioned, including I’m at the scene where Alice meets a bunch of Cerberus dogs.

Think I'll just mention many hours ago before I started watching Batman 1989. I played some Resident Evil 2 on Dreamcast and got past the Alligator part. But using the info I learned from Hey Devuh's of why RE2 is amazing. I blew that Alligators head up with that tank thing.
Amazing I'm getting far in this older Resident Evil game which is great.
