Whumptober Day 19 - Diego Hargreeves
Diego Hargreeves x gn!reader
Prompt: Scars
Trigger Warnings: Some swearing, mentions of fighting/vigilante stuff, Diego blames his injuries on boxing when he was really out doing hero stuff
Summary: While patching Diego up after a fight, you see his scars for the first time.
"DId you at least hit the other guy?"
The words came tumbling out of your mouth as soon as you opened your apartment door to find Diego, battered and bruised, leaning against the door frame.
He let out a scoff, already pushing past you into the apartment, "Sweetheart that other guy doesn't even know what hit him."
You turned, closing the door behind you, watching as he all but limped over and prepare to throw himself at your sofa, "Is that why you had to drag your sorry ass back here?"
Diego groaned, flopping onto his stomach, "Son of a bitch through a vase at me or some shit."
That caught your attention, pulling you out of your usual routine of gentle ribbing and teasing. It wasn't uncommon for Diego to appear at your apartment after a fight, in fact, despite the inconsistent nature of your on again off again relationship with him, you'd developed a routine.
He would appear, worn and tired after some fight night or another, and you'd ice his bruises, offer him whatever takeout or leftovers you happened to be eating that night, trade teasing and insults, and spend the night lounging with him on the couch, commentating whatever trashy reality show you could find.
Being with Diego, or rather, not not being together while still never becoming anything official, was unlike any relationship you'd ever been in. The two of you had a unique understanding of each other you hadn't found in anyone else, even if his attempts to wine and dine you were inconsistent.
"What the hell do you mean he threw a vase at you?" You moved to stand before the couch, arms crossed, "I'm no expert, but last time I checked that didn't really fly in Al's gym."
"Well maybe I wasn't at Al's," He pushed away your hand before you could even really reach for him, forcing himself up off the couch, "Forget this, I need to go."
"Diego-" You grabbed at his wrist, stopping him in his tracks, "What's going on?"
"I- i-" He took a deep breath, steeling himself before turning to you, "It's nothing. I'm tired, I've got a cut on my shoulder that stings like a bitch and I really can't do the questions tonight."
You nodded, putting up your hands in a sort of surrender, "Okay. That's fine. But let me help you, Diego, jesus."
He didn't say anything, but he didn't move to leave either, which told you everything you needed to know. Without a word you hurried away to find your first aid kit before he had the chance to change his mind.
When you returned to the living room a moment later, he was sitting resolutely on the couch, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees.
"Alright," You perched on the coffee table in front of him, "Let me see."
Diego sighed, turning and beginning to pull his shirt over his head. As he did so you moved to sit behind him on the couch, leaving the first aid kit on the coffee table.
"Oh Diego..." You whispered, looking over the map of old scars that littered his back.
"It's not..." The words died on his lips, unsure of the right thing to say.
You scooted forward, wrapping your arms around his middle and hugging him gently, almost scared that he might try to run out again. Diego tensed up for a moment, before relaxing into your grip.
"I'm sorry." You whispered.
He sighed, "It's not your fault."
"I know," You pressed a kiss to his shoulder blade, along one particular jagged scar, "I'm sorry anyway."

There's only one bed HCs
Featuring: Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Viktor, Lila, Sparrow!Ben & Sloane
A/N: This isn’t a request, I just had to post the fluffiest prompt I could after s4. Also, the umbrella’s characterisation in this is very s1 inspired.
Masterlist
Luther Hargreeves
-Luther is immediately very flustered, you’d think he just stumbled out of the middle ages with how concerned about propriety he is in this situation, and he can barely form a coherent sentence
-He offers to take the floor, but if you do the same and/or insist on sharing he’ll quickly compromise on the latter if for no other reason than not wanting to disagree with you, but that decision has his heart racing a mile a minute
-He feels very self-conscious about taking up most of the bed, so any reassurance from you that you’re comfortable, or better yet, like his closeness absolutely melts him
-He stays half awake all night, too afraid of doing something embarrassing in his sleep to get any proper rest, but his contentment to just enjoy your nearness still makes it one of the best nights of his life
-Since he was already awake (and he’s a total sweetheart) he gets up early to scavenge you two up a breakfast in the morning, enjoying this slice of domesticity with you a little longer
Diego Hargreeves
-Diego says he’ll take the floor, but if you even slightly question that choice he gets embarrassed and defensive, suggesting you two share the bed just to prove that he ‘doesn’t care’
-Obviously he does care, outwardly he keeps his cool, but on the inside he’s swarming with butterflies like he’s a teenager
-As much as he tries to appear aloof, he’s actually being so considerate, checking if you’re comfortable more than once and making sure he isn’t touching you at all
-He’s not the easiest sleeper, tense and alert, and at first lying next to his crush doesn’t exactly help, but as the two of you talk and banter a little, the tension starts to defuse and he actually finds your presence very soothing
-He’s the type to get cuddly in his sleep, much to his shame and annoyance in the morning, he doesn’t let himself enjoy the amazing feeling of holding you in his arms for even a full minute before he’s scrambling back to his side of the bed and pretending to be asleep
Allison Hargreeves
-Allison can be a grown up about this, there’s only one bed, why wouldn’t you share it? She’s not indifferent but she doesn’t overanalyse the situation either
-She gladly embraces the domesticity of the scenario though, drawing out her nightly routine, and getting chattier than usual, trying to savor this experience that she’s wanted for so long
-She’s also trying to make sure you feel at ease too, figuring if you do feel awkward, that’ll fade as the two of you talk and unwind
-She is prone to nightmares, so don’t be surprised if you’re startled awake in the middle of the night and put in the unenviable position of trying to ease her, but she for one is very glad that it’s you she wakes up to
-Speaking of waking up, sunrise is the peak of this experience for her, feeling yours and her tangled limbs, seeing how peaceful you look while you sleep, it's the kind of moment she understands the importance of cherishing
Klaus Hargreeves
-Klaus suggests sharing, he’s slept under way more awkward circumstances next to people he’s felt way more uncomfortable around, it’s really no big deal
-He has to remind himself to keep his thoughts PG a couple of times and can’t get through the night without making at least one innuendo but overall he is respectful and won't likely make you uncomfortable
-Though he can keep his thoughts clean it's harder to keep them platonic, the longing he feels being so close to you is nearly overwhelming and he wishes so badly that the context was different
-With you by his side he sleeps more peacefully than he has in… ever, it actually kind of amazes him
-He's in no rush to leave your side in the morning, the sleep clouding his brain making him all too willing to forget his reservations and cuddle up to you for as long as you'll have him
Viktor Hargreeves
-Ever the gentleman, Viktor immediately offers to take the floor, but he feels quite heart-warmed by you insisting on sharing
-Even platonically the intimacy of sharing a bed means so much to someone as affectionate starved as him, but with the added context of you being his crush this experience feels like a mini miracle
-He's pretty nervous though, triple checking that you're okay with this and minimizing his own space as much as possible when he gets into bed
-He relaxes with some reassurance and the two of you quickly get comfortable, starting up a random conversation that's meant to segway into sleep but could keep you talking all night if you're not careful
-As opposed to the anxious start to the night, waking up next to each other feels like the most natural thing in the world
Lila Pitts
-Lila's thrilled, she doesn’t immediately suggest sharing but she makes it clear she’s not sleeping on the floor and is all too happy to accommodate you if you won't either
-If you do try to give her the bed and take the floor though she stops playing coy and basically tells you to grow up and share with her, insisting it’s no big deal
-But to her it is a big deal, honestly she can't believe she didn't plan this herself it's that perfect, she can barely fight back an unending smile
-Though keeping things sfw she does lay the flirting on thicker than usual and pays close attention to how you react to that and the situation you're in throughout the night
-As bold as she is she isn't actually used to this kind of closeness and the intimacy of sleeping next to her crush does start making her slightly nervous, but luckily your presence has a way of making her feel better
Ben Hargreeves
-Ben’s not exactly a go with the flow type, if you’re put in a position where there’s meant to be two beds and there’s only one, he’s gonna try to get his other bed
-Ands it’s only after all his demands fall on deaf ears that he even registers the implications of sharing the one, nervousness quickly sets in but he tries not to show it, avoiding looking at you and giving his usual sass
-He does offer you the bed, sounding more begrudging than he actually is, it’s actually his preferred solution, cause as spoiled as he acts he could never sleep comfortably at your expense
-But of course you insist on sharing and as soon as he’s laying next to you, he confirms what a bad idea this was, he’s just as flustered as he feared he would be, maybe more so
-He pretends to fall asleep as soon as possible so you won’t catch on to how he’s feeling, but actually he’s awake and on edge for hours
Sloane Hargreeves
-Sloane has encountered this scenario in more than one romance novel before, so her brain just goes wild with the possibilities
-You’re the one to suggest sharing the bed, and it absolutely melts her heart, it's sweet and it's a relief to know you're comfortable being this close to her
-She always has a hard time hiding her crush on you, but she’s never been so flustered before, the butterflies in her stomach verge on painful
-But she's also giddy and her contagious enthusiasm guarantees the two of you will have a good night, your energy is half 'slumber party' and half 'married couple's nightly routine'
-The experience is wonderful for not just Sloane but you as well, because even if you didn't have a crush on her before, spending a night with her surely makes you realize you want to spend many more with her

Diego Hargreeves — If the World was Ending

Pairing : Diego Hargreeves x (she/her) Reader Word Count : 5k Warning : Smut, MDNI! Angst but it ends with fluff. Season 4 references. Synopsis : After the Cleanse, Diego wasn't sure why he was brought back to the original timeline. Notes : Inspired by JP Saxe, Julia Michaels - If the World was Ending. If you like this story and would like to support me, please visit my kofi page and perhaps get me a coffee?☕
Diego wasn’t sure how he suddenly found himself standing in front of the Academy once again. He tried to look around, noticing the panic in the eyes of the passersby and how there were cars crashing by the road. Some of the buildings were ruined, rubbles and debris decorating them. An alarming view that raises his vigilance, especially since he couldn’t find any of his other siblings in sight.
Rushing inside, Diego tries to call for the names of his siblings. He runs around the hallway, calling for anyone in hope that they could regroup and think about what’s going on. Make a new plan to figure out the strange timeline they’re in, but the Academy was eerily quiet. No other soul was present— not even Pogo nor Grace.
He wasn’t sure if this was supposed to happen. If the Cleanse was supposed to kick him back to this timeline or if they’ve succeeded in stopping the Apocalypse at all. The uncertainty was daunting. He desperately needed to see someone, someone familiar who he could take refuge to, but as the only sound echoing through the house was his own, Diego understands that he’s left all alone.
“Think, Diego, Think,” He mutters to himself as he runs back to the living room.
He tries to make sense of the unfamiliar setting. Studying the Academy as he tries to find any piece of clue that would be useful to help ease his anxiety. Spotting some newspaper by the table, Diego ran his desperate hand through his hair and grabbed it. His blood ran even colder as he read the date: April 1, 2019. The day of the Apocalypse.
Just as he tries to compute the new information, an earthquake shakes the ground. It was powerful enough to make the chandelier rattles, threatening to fall from the weak bolts that were loose from the tremble. The books by the cabinets were falling, vases broken and furniture displaced. If this was the start of the Apocalypse, with none of his siblings around, Diego was sure that there would be no way he could escape nor stop it.
And so he runs back to his room, grabbing his car keys that he hasn’t seen for far too long. He’s lived one too many lifetimes coming in and out of foreign timelines. Perhaps it has only been a few days in this one since he was gone, but it certainly wasn’t the case for him. Still, the sight of the item patiently waiting for its master to return brought a short-lived sense of comfort in his heart.
The road was in chaos by the time Diego drove the car out. People were trying to flee the city. Sirens blaring, children crying as their parents try to keep them collected. Diego’s palms were wet. He’s got no idea of what’s happening nor what to do. He doesn’t know how to help, how to save anyone from this terror. For once, Diego felt entirely helpless.
Another quake was felt as he got to the main road. His heart was beating erratically, distracted by thoughts of her safety. Is she home? Is she out drinking? Is she in the living room, chilling and watching television?
It’s been far too long. Perhaps in this timeline it might only have been a year since they last saw each other, but for Diego, it would be an understatement to say that it felt like forever.
He wasn’t even sure why he felt like he needed to see her now. The thought of her hasn’t entered his mind as intensely, given how the task at hand was much more demanding, but she lingers still. In the split moments where he realised that the plan was spoiled or that they would need to figure out a way to escape to another timeline, he would always wonder if there would be a time where he could see her again.
A part of himself was grateful that they ended their relationship before the whole Apocalypse thing started to play. He wouldn’t have the heart nor strength to call it quits with her, knowing that the world was ending and that he couldn’t be with her to share their last moments. He was shamefully grateful that his inability to truly show her what he felt fueled the arguments that ultimately led to their separation. For once, Diego was glad that his flaws have done him more good than harm.
The sky was dark by the time he reached her place. He let out a breath of relief when he spotted her car outside, parked neatly in front of the house that he used to call home. There wasn’t much damage done to this neighbourhood, despite the bins and trees that now litter the road. Her house was in good shape too. Knowing that she’s safe was like a breath of fresh air after being suffocated by such an aggravating situation.
Wasting no other second, Diego runs to her door. He presses the bell a little too impatiently, desperately in need to see her in person.
“I said, I’m coming!” She yells as she opens the door, clearly disturbed by the uninvited guest but all anger evaporates once she recognises the man on the other side of the door “Diego?”
—-
By the third quake, she knew that something wrong was happening. They’ve never had this many earthquakes before, let alone ones that happened one after the other within a short period of time. The worry in her heart starts to bloom as more things in her house fall and shatter, wondering if there’s anything she should do in such a situation.
How long should she wait until someone instructs them to evacuate? Where should she go? What should she do?
Diego would’ve known what to do, she thought. She tried to imagine his reaction, the way his alert eyes would be all wide and the rigidness of his shoulders. He wouldn’t be afraid of what’s to come. He would try and save her, even when she wasn’t sure she needed saving. He would be busy rushing her under the tables while he stood and watched the post.
An involuntary chuckle escaped her lips. Yes, that would be Diego alright. Always too busy trying to save the world without giving himself the chance to register the danger he’s putting himself into.
It wasn’t that she was scared of the earthquakes. No, it was something she could weather through still. But it surely got her thinking about the time she had with him. How, through the many times he saved her, made her realise that she’s gotten a little too attached to the safety net he’s set around her. How he would always put everyone else before him, never one to complain about getting bruised or scratched when it comes to saving someone.
She remembers that one night clearly, when they went drinking and stumbled in the house. How she landed on top of him without making it past the kitchen, giggling like they were on the clouds of nine. She would always remember the gentle touch he would always reserved for her, the way his frown turns into a smile every time their eyes met, and how he would bring the warmest laughter to the house.
But such bliss was short-lived once she realised Diego wasn’t ready for forever. There’s still so many things he needed to do, so many people he needed to prove, that the words she showered him with felt like a passing buzz with no lasting meaning. She knew that it wasn’t his fault. Diego has got too many scars and wounds to heal before she could ever place the weight of guilt on his shoulders, but she too couldn’t wait forever. Perhaps forever isn’t for everyone, afterall.
When the eighth earthquake happened, she gave it a good twenty minutes before finally coming out of the kitchen table. The television was broken, plates and mugs smashed on the floor, and her carpet is now stained with wine that she was supposed to enjoy. The house was a real mess but given the harrowing nightmare, coming out without a single scratch is something she could feel triumphant of.
She lets out a sigh. The phone lines were down, no internet through her cells. It was practically impossible for her to get any information about her friends and family, about Diego if she wanted to drop a text and ask if he’s alright, unless she got out of the house and drove herself down to the gym. That is, if he still lives in the gym. But with everything that’s happened, how they haven’t talked ever since the split, and the chaos the road must’ve been in right now, she figures to just wait and perhaps send him a voice message in the morning.
Her train of thoughts were abruptly broken when someone rang her bell. They were pressing without a pause, making an everlasting ring that only amplifies the headache in her head.
“I said, I’m coming!” She yells as she opens the door, clearly disturbed by the uninvited guest but all anger evaporates once she recognises the man on the other side of the door “Diego?”
Diego blinked. He too was appalled the moment his eyes met hers. Looking surprised to find her there as if he didn’t drive himself in a disastrous traffic for hours down to her house, “I— Are you— I was just—”
Neither of the two have the words to express their emotions right now. Relieved, yet baffled. Supposed, given the calamity, it would make sense for them to try and see each other. But how was he supposed to explain that the world was ending? And what was she supposed to say when she was just thinking about him?
“Are you alright?” Diego asked.
“Yeah,” She nods, taking a step closer to him “Are you?”
Diego flashes a smile, “I— I meant to come earlier, but the traffic—And there were so many car crash— And the trees—”
“You drove here? Why?”
“I wanted to see you,” He confessed, a long sigh escaping his chest “I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
Without a thought, she pulled him for a tight embrace. She clung onto his neck, burying her nose to the crook of his neck as she stood on her tippy toes. He smelled different. Perhaps he’s changed his cologne, no longer wearing the one she gifted him a couple of years back, but she wasn’t in any place to complain right now. Having him by her side, having the warmth of his body pressed to hers once again, was more than she could ever ask for.
Diego was frozen when she first hugged him. It took a couple of seconds for his brain to register that it was real, that it wasn’t just some cruel mindgame his brain was tricking him into. He rests his hands on her waist, slightly lifting her so she wouldn’t be so sore from the tippy toes cause he wasn’t about to let go anytime soon.
“I’ve missed you,” She whispers.
“I’m sorry.”
She pulls away a little, standing on her feet as she tries to study his face. There were a few new scars that she’s unfamiliar with. The moustache was something new and the way he styled his hair was different. It feels as if she’s staring into a different Diego than the one she knew before.
“What a year, huh?” She says, tracing one of the new scars that was on his left cheek “Still couldn’t keep yourself out of trouble, I assume?”
Diego flashes a small smile, looking slightly embarrassed from the commentary.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m just really tired,” He answers truthfully, feeling the ache in his bones slowly settling in “Do you think I can lay down for a minute?”
She nods, the concern in her eyes magnified, “Of course.”
And so she led him into her bedroom. The one place where they once called ours. Diego lays gently on the bed as she busies herself with cleaning up the mess that was scattered around. The quake wasn’t giving her any kindness, especially now that she’s got a guest to crash.
“I’ll go and make you some tea.”
“No,” Diego says fast, taking her hand before she could leave the room “Could you just lay down with me? Please?”
“I don’t think that would be a great idea, Diego.”
“Please? I promise you won’t regret it.”
She hesitated, knowing granting his wish might mean a different thing for the both of them, but seeing how desperate he looks, the way his eyes were filled with plea and the fragility of his voice, she couldn’t help but to nod and give in.
Diego scooted to make room for her on his right side. He places his arm under her head, pulling her close as he tries to be a comfortable makeshift pillow. Her right hand instinctively found itself resting on his chest. There was a sense of contentment filling his heart. Like the missing puzzle piece he wasn’t aware he’s lost was finally found. He plays with the strands of her hair, listening to the steady sound of her breathing.
“If the world was ending, you’d come over, right?”
Her brows furrow, looking up to face Diego that looks as if he’s got a million questions running in his head, “What are you talking about?”
“If you knew that the world was ending, you’d come over and stay the night, wouldn’t you?”
“Don’t say such things, we just had eight earthquakes, Diego.” She answers, trying to dismiss his questions “The world isn’t ending.”
“But if it was, would you?” He persists “Would you love me for the hell of it?”
She propped herself on her elbow now, looking closer into him. Diego still looks conflicted. He looks as if he’s holding a secret, something so terrible that he couldn’t even let it escape his lips even if he wanted to. His eyes were radiating despair, lips tucked into a droopy smile. She’s never seen him looking this strained, but she knew that he was trying to save her once again, from whatever it is she might never know, but she was surely glad he’s here to be her knight.
Answering his question, she places a soft kiss on his lips, “The sky could fall upon us and I’d be holding you tight, Diego.”
All hell broke loose the moment those words escaped her lips. Diego was quick to turn her on her back, now pinning her down as he kissed her desperately. He sneaks a hand under her shirt. The warmth of his palm was startling, making her gasp between the kisses. His hand rests just below the clasp of her bra. A tease for the poor unexpecting woman.
But she wasn’t one to be a passive rival for such a game. Her legs found themselves encircling his waist, in her own way trapping the man in her grasp. Her fingers tugged on the strands of his hair. Satisfied moans escaping his lips. The taste of ecstasy was brewing in their stomach.
“Wait, Diego—,” She called, panting as she tried to pull away “We need to talk.”
Diego stopped his doings, looking into her with confusion and alarm, “Okay.”
“I just— I need to know that it will be different this time. I need to know that you want what I want. I need to know that you’re ready to settle with me. Forever, not just for a month or two,” She explains “Otherwise, we’ll only repeat the same mistake.”
It stings to hear her call their past a mistake, but Diego understands where she’s coming from. He’s ready for her. All the fights and running, trying to save the world from one timeline to another, made him realise that he’ll never be more ready to be with her than now, but to promise her forever? When he wasn’t even sure if there would even be a tomorrow? Would the remaining hours of April 1, 2019 be enough to be called forever?
Gently, Diego removes the hand that was under her shirt and cups her face instead. He smiles softly, staring into her with the most loving eyes she’s ever seen, “After everything I’ve been through, settling in with you feels like a pass to heaven.”
Her grin grows once more. This time pushing Diego down to the bed, flipping their position until she’s sitting on his waist. She kisses him once again, only parting their lips as she pulls his black jumper off of him. Her fingers wander around his chest. Multiple new bumps and scars were raising her brows that she had to sit up and take a proper look at his body.
“Are those.. Bullet wounds?” She asks as she spots the scar on his arm “What happened to you?”
“Long story. Tell you another time,” He says in a hurry, sitting up and kissing her neck “There’s so much talking in this, my balls are getting blue down there.”
She lets out a chuckle, “Always so impatient.”
“Only for you, babe,” Diego answers fast “Only for you.”
It took no time for Diego’s lips to travel back to her's from her neck. His kisses were getting more vigorous, more desperate as the pants he’s wearing feel much tighter. The movement of her hips on top of him wasn’t doing him much good. He was slowly turning blue, indeed.
With no difficulties, Diego slides her shirt over her head. He kisses the exposed skin of her shoulder, leaving a wet trail of love as he explores the skin he’s been deprived of. The smell of her skin was intoxicating. It gives him a great swell of pride as her sultry moans echo in his ear. He still knows his ways with her sweet spots, afterall.
Still with his lips busy on her skin, Diego’s hand swiftly unclasped her bra. The sudden exposure of her breasts were making her timid, instinctively trying to cover herself with her hands, but Diego knew her a little too well, proving her attempt to be futile as he led her hands to rest around his neck instead as his lips moved south. Loud gasp escaped her lips as Diego’s mouth found itself sucking on her throbbing bud. Her hands pulled his head closer in reflex, making Diego to mentally bite a smirk.
“I’ve missed you,” He says, looking up to see her in between her tits “All of you.”
She pulls his face closer, kissing him. Diego took this chance to switch their position, laying her gently on the bed without breaking their contact. Their bare chests were pressed against each other. Only separated by the thin layer of sweat that was forming on their skin.
Diego tugged harshly on the seam of her shorts. There’s just too many barriers, too much fabric that came between them. He grunted in annoyance when his fingers failed to undo her button without breaking the kiss. Diego pulled away curtly, frowning as he looked down to her shorts and unbuttoning it in a disapproving manner.
“Don’t ever wear those shorts again,” He grumbles, chucking the piece of garment carelessly.
“I like those shorts.”
“Well, I don’t,” He retorts “We’re throwing them out first thing in the morning.”
She chuckles at his frivolous whine, watching as he shimmied her underwear down, “You’re pathetic.”
“Pathetic, huh?”
Diego’s calloused thumb runs through her fold without a warning, making her squeeze her thighs from the sudden jolt of arousal. A cheeky grin spreads on his face, satisfied with the shriek she lets out. His other hand now rests on her thigh, giving the most gentle form of encouragement for her to widen his opening.
Her eyes were locked on his as her leg follows his lead. The smile on Diego’s face returns, looking a little too satisfied with her obedience, “Good girl.”
She burrowed the back of her head into the pillows once his fingers found its way back to her heated mound. Her hands desperately gripped on the sheets, trying to suppress her moans as his movement turned rudely.
Diego watches with pride the way her back arched with each circular motion he does to her sensitive area. His mouth went back to her tit, sucking on the other breast that he’s yet to taste. His other arm slides under her back, pressing her chest to his mouth as if there were still space for them to eliminate.
Feeling his fingers to get slicker, Diego gave her clit a crude squeeze before aligning his fingers to her folds. The sudden intrusion left her gasping, her fingers unintendedly scratching on his arm from the tension.
“Shh, it’s just me,” He whispers, now kissing his way up from her chest, to her jaws, and ultimately her lips “Do you want me to stop?”
“No,” She breathes, pulling him close by his shoulder blades “Just kiss me while you do it.”
Not having to be told twice, Diego wasted no time and kissed her. He repositioned himself, having his passive forearm as support as his other hand busied itself with her. Her moans were uncontainable as his fingers reached the deeper, warmer depth of her. He increased the pace of his thrusts, curling his fingers as he felt her walls tightening. The knot in her stomach was threatening to burst. It was clear to see with the way her head fell back in bliss with each strike, but Diego was in no mood to stop. He wanted her to reach that extent of pleasure.
Her fingers clawed on his back as she reached her peak, leaving moon shaped marks on his skin. Diego groans from the slight sting but pays not much mind to it. He loves a little scratch from a good sex, a little bruise to look at in the morning that he wears like a badge of honour.
There wasn’t even a split second for her to breath before Diego’s lips travelled back down. He moves further south, locking eyes with her as his lips slowly find themselves in front of her folds. His hot breath was making her shy once again, almost closing her legs in reflex before he could pin them with his arms.
Diego clicks his tongue in disapproval, “Let’s not play any more games, shall we?”
Not waiting for an answer, Diego lifted her legs and rested them on his shoulders. With no warning, he runs his hot tongue across her fold, making her moan in undeniable pleasure. His moustache was giving a burning feeling in her inner thigh but before it could settle, Diego would erase it with his wet tongue.
The hot and wet sensation was driving her to cloud nine. With each swirl of tongue and cruel sucking that Diego does, she could feel herself losing the last strands of sanity. Her grip on the sheets have now moved to his head, tugging a little mean to the roots of his hair. Involuntarily pressing him a little closer every time he hits that one sweet spot.
Those throaty moans have slowly turned into needy, piteous whimpers. Clearly overstimulated from all the torture Diego was putting her through. His hands were pinning her hip in place. Not letting her buck away from his brutal assault. With a sinful moan, she finally came for the second time.
She tries to sit up, gathering the few will power she has left in her body to reach Diego’s waistband, “My turn.”
“No,” He says, pushing her hands away gently as he kisses her in apology “I’m literally two seconds away from bursting. You can pleasure me another time.”
“Are you sure?”
“No,” Diego frowns “But I’m not taking risks. I want you.”
“Well, let me at least help you get out of these pants.”
Diego watches as her dainty fingers unbuckle his belt, slowly undoing his pants and pushing it down his legs. He swallows a low groan as her hand palms his shaft. He pulls her for another kiss, passionately devouring her lips and tasting every corner of her mouth. He leads her back to lay on the bed, positioning himself on top of her as he leans on his forearms for support. He guides himself to her entrance, fingers dancing around the area to help redistribute enough slick before he slowly inserts himself.
Her claws find themselves back to his back, creating new scratches the moment she feels his length enters in a slow and controlled ease. Diego was grunting from the blissful restrain. A low sinful prayer escaped his lips. The warmth of her walls were drowning him, feeling as if they were swallowing him whole.
“You okay?” He asked, ever the gentleman.
She nods, eyes closed and mouth quivering in bliss.
Diego started his movement at a steady pace, letting her body adjust to the size of him that has been absent for a little too long. He kept the speed for a good few minutes before hastening his movement in a steadfast thrust.
“Fuck, Diego,” She breathes, biting on his shoulder from the overwhelming sensation.
There were no words that Diego could utter. Too busy trying to find the best angle where he could reach the desired depth. His thrusts were getting more vigorous with each retreat and return of his length within her, finding her moans to be the very fuel to boost his movements.
Deep, hearty grunts were all he could make now. Diego places his hands under her head, using his fingers as cushion so that the crown of her head won’t hit the headboard with each ferocious thrust. He nips on her neck, kissing and licking the spot before the pain could sink. Neither of them cared which of the sounds were louder— their moans or the creak of the bed.
“Diego—”
“I know,” He cuts, feeling the walls around him contracting “I’m right behind you.”
She pulls him for a kiss. Her hand guides one of his to rest on her neck, encircling his fingers around. Diego pulls himself away, watching as she closes her eyes when he squeezes her neck a little.
“Always so beautiful for me,” He praises between his pants, diving right back to kiss her “Mine. All mine.”
With one last thrust, Diego struck her core with all the pressure it needed to implode. He followed right after, just as he promised. The kisses he gives her slowly turn into soft and gentle ones as they begin to wane from their highs. His body tenderly loitered on top of hers, careful not to put too much weight that might suffocate her.
She runs her hand through his hair. Gently combing through it with her fingers. She kisses his forehead softly, brushing her thumb over the scar on his right side before planting a kiss there too. Diego always looked most charming laying on top of her like this.
“Did I do good? Was that enough to repent for my past sins?”
A crips chuckle escaped her lips, “For now, yes.”
“Great,” He says as he repositions himself, now laying on his side to face her “Now we can forget the past and focus on the future.”
She smiles, gazing into the beautiful man in front of her before giving him a sweet kiss. Something has changed in him. Something that made him look a lot more reliable. Like the past year they’ve spent without each other has finally knocked some sense into his head. Perhaps he really did go through something that changed him for the better. Perhaps the bullet wounds on his arm hold a bigger story than just another vigilante act he pulled. Perhaps the world really needed to end for him to finally understand how some people in our lives matter more than most, even if we felt like we needed to prove something to everyone.
Diego pulls her close to his chest, letting her hear the beating of his heart that has now gone to a steady pace. The clock by the bedside table haunts him. A couple more hours until the day ends and he’s still unsure if the Apocalypse was still happening. But even if the world was to end in their sleep, even if she was to be stripped away from his arms, at least he’s tried to show her just how much he loves her.
Even if it was done in borrowed time.
—-
Diego’s eyes flutter open. The brightness of the sun was hurting his eyes but he’d rather go blind than to move a muscle. The blinds of her bedroom were broken, making the light from outside reflect harshly on his face.
He looks down to see her still fast asleep on his chest. The events of last night play blissfully in his mind, recollecting their joyous reunion with a satisfied smile. He plants a soft kiss on the crown of her head, silently confessing his vow that he’d never leave her again, Apocalypse or not.
And that’s when he realises it. The day has come. It is officially April 2, 2019. The Apocalypse should’ve happened yesterday, yet it didn’t. There were only earthquakes that indeed have caused quite the damage but far too weak to be called the Apocalypse.
Eight earthquakes, she said. Perhaps the quakes were the signs of him and his siblings finding their own timelines. He only felt six quakes, maybe because he was the second to land on his timeline. If that was the case, then they’ve not only successfully stopped the Apocalypse from happening, but have also gotten the chance to rebuild their life, wherever they might be now.
She stirs a little as her slumber finally comes to an end. She looks up to see Diego with a smile, stealing a peck from him like a drunken woman, “Good morning.”
“Buenos días, mi amor.”
“Are you feeling better?”
“Much,” He answers, kissing her lips once again “All thanks to you.”
She smiles, basking in the love that he’s showering her with.
“Everything is going to change from now on,” He whispers to her softly, pulling her closer “It’s only gonna get better, I promise.”

a/n: thank you for your request - we’re taking it back to s2 for this one because i’m still not over diego’s long hair!! i hope you love it, this is my first time writing smut so be kind🙏
Today you had to attend a gala at the Mexican Consulate. Why? To find Reginald Hargreeves and finally get some answers. You had dressed in a deep cyan dress, made of a shiny material that pulled in at the waist and flew out to your thighs. Despite the tight fit, it was both surprisingly comforting and flattering. You stood in from of the bedroom mirror, painting your lips a perky pink - since the apocalypse you’d had little reason to dress up, so maybe you were taking advantage of it now.
A sly smile spread across Diego’s lips as he strolled over. He whistled, leaning against the doorframe, “Look at you…” He says, gaze trailing over your body appreciatively.
You laugh softly and as you get closer, he slips his hand around your waist, squeezing at the blue fabric gathered around your hip, “This is very pretty.” He coos, pecking your cheek.
He looked more than good himself, in a navy-blue suit and a tie that was practically begging you to tug on. The suit was just tight enough that you could see the indents of his muscular biceps. You bit your lip, smiling shyly, “Thank you.”
You leaned up to peck Diego’s lips and he grinned, pulling you closer. Five clapped his hands as he entered the room, stepping between you and putting an instantaneous end to whatever might’ve come from your mutual advances, “Alright… Let’s go, shall we?”
He prompted the two of you with a less-than-impressed smile. With a reluctant sigh, Diego squeezed your hip once more before he let you go. He punched Five in the gut as he walked past, muttering ‘cockblock’ under his breath.
You snorted as you stepped past Five, now doubled over. He grumbled under his breath, glaring at Diego and begrudgingly following after you both. You couldn’t help but smile at the interaction, as childish as it was. Five beckoned you both closer.
He sighed, brushing his sleeve away to read his watch, “Fantastic, we’re already late.” He held his hands out to both you and Diego, which you took, and then blinked the three of you inside of the building.
You wound up in a quieter corridor, somewhere upstairs, and Five shook out his shoulders, looking at both of you, “All we have to do is find Dad and get him to talk. Do you think that you two morons can manage that without screwing it up?”
He raised an eyebrow as he looked between the two of you. Diego pulled you closer, shaking his head as he smiled cockily, “We’re not morons, we know how to handle ourselves. So, just… relax for a second, alright?”
“Handling yourselves is not what I’m worried about.” Five sighs, features curling with distaste as he eyed Diego’s hand on your waist. Diego scoffed at his brother.
“Relax. We got this.” He grins and the mischievous glint in his eye only makes Five’s concerned frown deepen.
He shakes his head as he walks past both of you. “Jesus… You know what? Do what you want, just don’t get caught. There is more at stake here than the two of you.” He says, pointing at you.
With those parting words, Five disappears around the corner. Diego watches until he leaves and then he’s walking you backwards into the nearest room.
“Diego!” You laugh, pressing both hands against his chest in protest. He simply intertwines your fingers, grinning.
“What?” He teases, his voice mocking yours as he closes the door behind him with his foot. He spins you around and you come face to face with your reflection in the bathroom mirror. Your cheeks are flushed and your eyes are already blown out with lust.
Diego slips his arms around your waist again, leaning down to peck your neck. “You look so beautiful.” He praises and you inhale sharply, hands sliding down your body to rest over the top of his.
He smirks against your neck as his lips travel down to your collarbone, which he nips. “Diego.” You say again, already feeling yourself grow breathless and recognising the growing heat in the pit of your stomach.
His grins like the devil as he watches your each and every reaction, “Oh, does that feels good?” He says, biting down on your neck again.
You shiver and bite your lip. You shouldn’t be doing this now, not here, there are more pressing matters at hand. Five had not so subtly reminded the two of you just moments ago but how were you supposed to say no to him when he was riled up like this?
“God, Diego, we shouldn’t…” You sigh blissfully, feeling your thighs clench as Diego presses up against you from behind.
“We’ll be quick, I promise.” He smiles, pecking your shoulder affectionately, “I just wanna show my girl some attention, that’s all.”
My girl. God, it should be crime for him to use those words with how easily it makes your resolve crumble. You groaned, shifting restlessly, “Babe…”
“What, baby? What do you expect me to do?” He croons, with mock sympathy. His hands slide over your body, up to your chest.
He rubs his fingers over you through the fabric of your dress as he mumbles into the crook of your neck, “How am I supposed to act when you’re standing here looking so good for me, hm?”
Your back arches up against him and he smiles, hands travelling down, over the expanse over your stomach and you watch in the reflection of the mirror in front of you as his hands disappear out of view. You feel them though.
He kneads your ass between his fingers and gently bites at your shoulder, “Come on, baby.”
Your will is broken and you sigh, one hand reaching out to tug at his tie. You pull him around by it so that he’s facing you. Despite the shock on his face, Diego is more than happy with this new development. You smirk and pull him down to kiss your lips.
He reciprocates it hungrily, his hands cupping your face, pulling you closer and closer. He hums happily against your lips, and your hands slip up into his long curls. You pull at the strands, releasing a guttural moan from Diego.
He pulls back and bites his lip, brushing your hair back from your face, “God, you’re so fucking pretty, you know that?”
He repeats for the hundredth time today, yet it doesn’t stop the warmth from blossoming in your cheeks or your lower belly, “Thank you.”Y ou say obediently.
And, just as he does every time, he reassures you with a kiss to your lips saying, “You don’t have to thank me for the truth, baby.”
With that, his hands slip around the backs of your thighs, propping you up onto the counter. He looks up at you like he’s entirely unworthy of you. Like he would worship you.
He bites his lip, muttering a pleased ‘fuck’ to himself as he goes in to kiss you again. You smile against his lips, arms going around his neck and pulling him impossibly closer.
His hands wander from your waist, around your back, to your dress’s zipper. He tugs it down, pulling away from your lips and slowly peppering kisses down your neck, all the way to the centre of your breasts.
He looks up and you, eyes hooded, and the sight is enough to make you moan. Your hand comes up to the back of his head then, encouraging him as his lips slide over your sensitive nipple. His tongue swirls around it, until he feels it grow hard. He sucks gently on it, and pulls away with a gentle pop.
Simultaneously, his free hand works to stimulate your other nipple, fingers rolling the bud between his fingers and massaging your breast. Your hips shift and he smiles, pecking your cheek, “So impatient.”
“No…” You reply, breathlessly, sitting up straighter, “Just time conscious.”
He laughs, hiking your dress up over your hips, “Oh? Is that what they’re calling it now?”
“It is, yeah.” You smile, cupping his face and gently pecking his lips. He rolls his eyes, smiling as his fingers toy with your waistband.
“Brat.” He taunts, tugging the slim string of your panties down, over the smooth fat of your thighs, and letting it fall to your ankles. You feel the air brush over your inner thighs and your sensitive bud, already slick with your wetness.
“Shit…” Diego says, growing breathless himself as he takes in the sight of your glistening pussy. He brushes his fingers over your folds for a moment, before slipping two of them inside of you.
He watches, entirely mesmerised by the motion of you taking his thick fingers. You huff, back arching and fingers curling as you fail to find something to keep you steady. He takes your hand, guiding it to his shoulder instead.
He pumps his fingers in and out of you furiously and you whine, clinging to his other forearm, “I know, baby girl, but I have to prep you first. Just come for me, come for me and then I’ll fill you up, I promise.”
He coos, slipping a third finger in, despite the resistance. You gasp, burying your face in the crook of his neck as your hips spasm, coating his fingers with your slick in record time, “Good girl.” He praises, pecking your cheek.
“You’re making me wish I had the time to taste you.” He huffs frustratedly, watching your hips buck as he removes his fingers from you, chasing the fullness he’d left you without.
“Yeah?” You ask breathlessly, tilting your head to the side.
“Yeah.” He smiled. He took his fingers into his mouth, sucking them clean, and groaned. He kisses you again and tasting the remnants of yourself on his tongue only serves to make you want him more, “But… since I don’t…”
You watch eagerly as he pulls back slightly, his fingers unbuckling his belt with practised ease. And, God, your head feels so hazy right now, that even that is turning you on.
He smirks and kisses your lips as he strips down, letting you see all of him, “You’re so quiet tonight, baby.”
He gives his cock a few tugs and then he kisses your lips again. He smiles, I want you to try and be louder for me. Want to hear those pretty moans of yours. Think you can do that for me?”
“Mm… yeah.” You nod.
He kisses you again, sliding his hand over your waist as he brings you closer, “Good.”
“Oh, fuck.” You gasp, hands grasping at his shoulders like a lifeline as he pressed his tip against your entrance, gently pushing in.
You felt yourself swallow him and you both let out a collective sigh, pressing your foreheads against one another. You didn’t think you would ever get over how good it felt to be so effortlessly full up by him.
“That’s it.” He cooed softly, rubbing your hip with his thumb as he pushed himself deeper, “Doing so good, baby, taking me so well…” He leaned down, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he bottomed out inside of you. You felt him twitch, and he groaned as he adjusted to the feeling of your perfect grip on him.
“Shit, baby…” He hissed through his teeth, beginning to move. The thump of the counter hitting the wall as he started to fuck you against it made you clench around him.
After letting you adjust to him, he started moving faster, causing your breath to hiccup slightly as you moaned, “Yeah? Is that good? Does that feel good?”
Your nails scraped over his back, trying to pull him ever closer. Your hands drove through his skin in time with his thrusts, leaving glaring red marks down his toned back. He groaned, biting his tongue. The sight of them only made your eyes roll back, as well as your head.
He caught his breath and chuckled, tongue in his cheek as he thrust harder, hands gripping at your love handles, “You like seeing the marks you’re leaving on me, baby?”
All you could do was nod as you looked up at him, hair tousled and lips puffy from your kiss. Your breath was made up of nothing but desperate, little whines as he pushed himself deeper.
He grinned slyly, tilting your head up and pressing his thumb to your bottom lip, forcing your mouth open, “Come on, I know you know the answer. Tell me, baby. Tell me how much you like leaving marks on me.”
“Mmph… I love it, love leaving marks on you.” You whine, head lolling back again.
“Yeah, I know you do.” He cups your face, keeping your head up and your eyes on him. He shifts his hips, his strokes delving deeper. Your eyes flutter shut and he practically growls at the sight of you - all pretty and fucked out, just for him. His girl.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck…” You whine, writhing in his arms as you feel him bury his cock inside of you, deeper and deeper. His hand skims over your stomach and down to your clit, rubbing circles over it as he kisses along your neck.
“You close?” He asks, knowing the tell-tale signals of your body as you begin to clench around him. You nod, moaning and arching your back, grinding your hips down against him harder.
“Shit, yes…” You gasp, eyes fluttering shut as you roll your hips, desperately seeking release. Your hand clutches his bicep and you moan instinctively as your fingers struggle to wrap around it fully.
He grunts, trying desperately to keep his composure for a little bit longer, when you both know that he’s so fucking close to bursting. You moan, practically limp in his arms at these point as he fucks up into you, “Shit, yes, Diego, fuck…”
The only words out of your mouth at this point are incoherent babbling and Diego groans, pulling you back in for a messy kiss, “Fuck, come for me. Come for me, baby, I know you want to. Fucking come for me.”
And you do.

Don’t Die on My Couch / Diego Hargreeves
Prompt fill! Diego x Reader • Enemies-to-Lovers • G!N reader • Prompt: "If you don’t want to be saved, then stop bleeding all over my floor."
They didn’t expect to open their door at midnight and find Diego Hargreeves glaring at them like this was somehow their problem to solve.
Then again, they didn’t expect him to show up at all—let alone half-dead, dripping blood like some tragic, pissed-off antihero.
They and Diego had a relationship that went on and off: one day they were enemies, the next, they could almost tolerate each other’s company.
They met pretty randomly—eighteen, broke, stuck behind a convenience store counter trying to survive on caffeine and sarcasm—when he stumbled in, beat up and furious.
They patched him up. He didn’t say much. They called him Batman.
It should’ve ended there.
It didn’t.
Nearly ten years later, he was bleeding on their couch.
“Nice place,” he grunted, staggering past them with all the grace of a wounded bear.
He looked so out of place in their sterile-clean, obsessively maintained apartment.
“Still looks like an asylum. All white and shit.”
“Still look like you belong in one,” they replied, arms crossed, watching him collapse dramatically onto their leather couch—and promptly ruin their favorite white throw pillow with a lazy, blooming smear of red.
“Seriously, Diego? What the hell?”
“I didn’t come here for your commentary.”
“No, clearly you came here to die dramatically on my rug.”
They sighed, turned off the TV, and grabbed the first aid kit from the cabinet like it was a ritual—because, with Diego, it basically was.
When they came back, he was hissing as he peeled off his jacket. That’s when they saw the deep, jagged slash running along his side, soaking his shirt in blood. Their stomach flipped. Their expression didn’t.
“You know,” they said, snapping the kit open a little too loud, “if you don’t want to be saved, then maybe don’t treat my place like a triage center.”
“I didn’t ask you to save me,” he muttered.
“You showed up at my door.”
“I was—nearby.”
“Oh, sure. Just happened to be bleeding out a block away from the one person who knows how to stitch your reckless ass back together?”
Diego didn’t answer. Jaw clenched. Eyes everywhere but on them.
They knelt beside him, voice sharp.
“Shirt off, Hargreeves.”
He raised a brow, ghost of a smirk flickering—but stayed silent. That worried them more than anything else.
“It must be worse than I thought. No cheeky comment?”
They started cleaning the wound, steady hands betraying none of the chaos in their chest.
He winced, but didn’t pull away. The silence between them was heavy—years of unfinished arguments, sharp banter, and something else neither of them wanted to name.
“Does it need stitches?”
His voice was quieter now. Reluctant.
“Yeah,” they said softly. “I know you hate it. I’ll be quick.”
They flipped on some random loud action movie—mostly for him. They knew about the needle thing. Diego Hargreeves didn’t fear much, but they’d seen the way he tensed when metal touched skin.
This time, he didn’t pass out. Barely flinched. But he was definitely trying not to breathe too hard.
When they were done, they pressed the gauze against the wound—just a little too hard.
“Sadist,” he muttered under his breath.
“You’d know, masochist,” they shot back, lips twitching.
Then, with a quiet exhale, they reached into the kit and pulled out a small cartoon bandage.
A Batman band-aid.
They peeled it open and carefully placed it over the gauze on his side.
His brows furrowed.
“Seriously?”
“It helps. You stop bleeding. I stop panicking. And for once, Batman’s actually being useful.”
There was a beat of quiet—and then, a small huff of laughter. Barely audible. But it was there.
They looked up at him.
“Next time… maybe just call before crashing into my place. I’ll unlock the door. Save you the dramatics.”
He looked at them then—really looked. Not like a man scanning for threats, but like someone realizing why he kept ending up here.
Something passed between them. Unreadable. Familiar.
“Next time,” he said, “I’ll try not to get stabbed.”
They raised a brow.
“So there’ll be a next time?”
He smirked, blood still drying across his ribs.
“You tell me, nurse.”
They rolled their eyes—but didn’t push him away.
And neither of them mentioned the way their fingers lingered just a little too long.

Unexpected Comfort
Season 4!Diego x fem!reader, (past) Five x reader
! SPOILERS AHEAD !
! MINORS DNI !
Summary: after finding out the news about Lila and Five’s relationship, Y/N needs to get away from it all. Who knew she’d find comfort in the one other person broken too?
Word count: 2.65k words
A/N: ayooo. I wanna thank everyone for the support I received from my Five fanfic, it means the world to me that people read and enjoy my writing. I’m definitely thinking about ideas for a part 2, and I also have some requests I need to complete, but for now this lil thing popped into my head and I had to make it. My sweet Diego deserved so much more. There’s fluff, there’s angst, there’s a lil bit of smut (I’m trying to get better at writing that lol) so I hope you all enjoy. Feedback is always appreciated

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t want you to find out this way.”
Those were the words that came out of Five’s mouth before Y/N stormed out of the house, leaving behind the shocked faces of the Hargreeves siblings.
Five had cheated on her. With Lila. Diego’s wife, the mother of his children. She felt like throwing up. They’d created a life together, seeming to forget all about the life they had here, in the real world. Five tried explaining how a few hours to her had been years for him and Lila, but Y/N wasn’t having it. She couldn’t imagine giving up on a relationship she’d spent so long working on, like it meant nothing at all. At least they weren’t married with kids. She doesn’t want to think about how much this is killing Diego.
Having left the house, ignoring the calls from the family, Y/N continued walking for what seemed like hours. She wasn’t familiar with this side of town, and the dark streets all blended together. Had she already gone this way? Was there a bus stop she could seek shelter under for the time being? The night was getting colder and she was finding it hard to catch her breath, the tears still flowing. She knew she couldn’t continue on for much longer.
After walking a few more blocks, Y/N finally spots a bar/diner, the lights still on inside. Better than nothing, she thinks, as she slowly makes her way towards it, in desperate need of a drink.
The diner is quiet, only a few patrons scattered around, either drunk or on the verge of passing out. The bar tender nods in acknowledgment when Y/N sits on one of the bar stools, asking what she wants.
“I’ll just have a beer.”
The bar tender rolls his eyes. “What kinda beer?”
Y/N shrugs. “The cheapest one you’ve got.”
He wonders off to sort out her order, as she rests her head in the palms of her hands, closing her eyes and trying not to sob like a baby. The pain in her chest still lingers, as she can’t escape the images of Five and Lila, and the life they had made together. The life that should’ve been hers. With everything going on, she’d almost forgotten about the world ending, again. But that was surprisingly the least of her worries at the moment. She just wanted to scream, and punch and kick anything that got in her way. She needed a cigarette. And she doesn’t even smoke.
“Thought I’d find you here.”
A voice sounds off to the side of Y/N, as she slowly opens her eyes. A beer bottle stands in front of her, and she turns to her left, spotting Diego in the seat next to hers. He looks worse for wear. Red eyes, prominent frown lines, and a pouty lip.
“You look like a kicked puppy,” Y/N mumbles, not knowing what else to say.
“Yeah, I wonder why,” Diego replies in a gruff voice, grabbing for her beer and taking a swig.
The pair go quiet, listening to the soft tune playing through the overhead speakers, dwelling in their own thoughts. The two of them had never exactly been close. Since Y/N joined the family she’d always gravitated more towards Klaus and Alison. Frankly, she didn’t understand why Diego was here with her. Maybe because they were both dealing with the same situation, with both their partners being the main focal point. Or maybe he was just in desperate need for a drink too, as shown when he downs the rest of the bottle. Y/N alerts the bar tender, putting up two fingers to ask for a second round. Hopefully she can actually have some this time.
“Was I a bad husband?” Diego finally speaks up, breaking the somewhat awkward silence.
Y/N glances his way, unsure of how to respond.
She clears her throat. “I dunno if I’m the right person to answer that,” she scratches at the label on the beer bottle. “But from what I saw, you were pretty good at it.”
He doesn’t say anything, so she continues. “And you’re also a good dad. I can’t imagine how hard it was, going from one apocalypse to another, to just living a normal life. Pretending none of it ever happened. You didn’t let that get in the way of taking care of your kids. They know you’re a good dad.”
She notices the tears forming in Diego’s eyes and looks away, knowing he wouldn’t want others to see him cry. She sips her drink, the burning sensation hitting the back of her throat.
“For what it’s worth,” Diego starts, “you’re not a bad girlfriend.”
“I never thought I was,” Y/N bites back, her tone harsher than she wanted it to be. “But what are you supposed to think when the love of your life admits to having an affair?” She laughs bitterly. “With his fucking sister in law!”
“Hey, you’re preaching to the choir here,” Diego says, rubbing incessantly at his eyes. “Just tryna make you feel better.”
“Well you didn’t.”
“Yeah, I got that.”
They bask in silence again, both too stubborn to apologise for snapping at each other. They know neither of them are in the wrong. But the wounds are still fresh, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll heal anytime soon.
Almost an hour passes, along with 9 or 10 bottles of beer between them, when the bartender finally tells them it’s closing time. They both get out of their seats, leaving the bar and standing awkwardly outside in the cold, Y/N shivering having left the house without a coat.
“You cold?” Diego dumbly asks.
Y/N rolls her eyes. “Well done, Sherlock.”
Diego looks as if he’s about to say something in retort, but chooses not to. Instead, he silently slips off his jacket, handing it over to her, insisting she takes it before she can refuse. She does so, mumbling a quiet ‘thank you’. They continue standing outside the bar, watching the occasional car drive past, lighting them up every so often.
“I can’t go back there,” Y/N says. “Not yet anyways.”
It was a stupid thing to think that this could all be avoided. She’d eventually have to face Five properly, let him explain fully what happened during that time he was away. But she couldn’t. She doesn’t want an explanation, or an excuse. She just wants it erased from her memory. To forget about it all. To forget about Five.
Diego puts his hands in his pockets. “Yeah, I’m not in the mood to figure out that shit show tonight.”
He pauses for a beat, then briefly glances at Y/N. “There’s a motel not too far from here. We can grab a couple of rooms, take the time to get some rest, and figure all this out tomorrow.”
She doesn’t say anything, simply nodding in agreement, and following Diego to their accommodation for the night.
***
The pair arrive at the dingy looking motel, booking two rooms next to each other, and muttering quick goodnights. Y/N can feel the exhaustion taking over, as she sits down on the bed, and yet the thought of falling asleep makes her anxious. She can’t remember the last time she went to bed alone. It was always Five right by her side, comforting her if she had any nightmares. Which had become more and more frequent the past few weeks.
She tries distracting herself by turning on the tv, flicking through empty channels and purposely avoiding the news. She takes a shower, scrubbing off the physical and metaphorical grime. It helps her feel slightly better, but still she’s wide awake. She walks laps around the room, which isn’t much considering the bed takes up most of the space. And yet she still can’t sleep.
Her mind wanders to the man in the room next to hers. Is Diego having the same issues as she is? Or has he completely worn himself out to the point of passing out for the next several hours. Is it too forward if she goes over there and asks to stay with him for the night? He could end up giving her a weird look and slamming the door in her face. Or he could see a woman, sad and distressed, and know she’s just in need of someone to comfort her. The risk is worth the reward.
Y/N leaves her room, stumbling slightly over her own feet, the alcohol starting to take effect. She steadies herself, standing in front of Diego’s door and knocking. It takes a moment, but he finally opens, shirtless and hair a mess.
“What’s up?” He says, his voice gruff.
Standing in front of him now, Y/N can’t help but feel stupid. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with her problems right now, not when he’s still trying to figure out his own. The only thing on Diego’s mind is most likely Lila, and getting some much needed rest. This was a bad idea.
“Uh,” she shakes her head. “It’s nothing, no. I shouldn’t have disturbed you, I’m sorry.”
She begins to walk away, trying not to fall over, until Diego’s voice calls her name. She turns, seeing him standing half way out of his room, a sad expression on his face.
“Neither of us really wanna be alone right now,” he says, motioning slightly for her to follow him through the door.
She waits a second, unsure if this was the best idea. Now feeling as if they were both about to cross a barrier that neither of them could walk back through.
Taking the plunge, Y/N silently follows Diego into his room, closing the door behind her. She suddenly felt nervous, unsure as to why. Diego is already back in bed, getting comfortable under the covers, ready for a much needed sleep. Y/N looks at the bed, then towards the small couch, not knowing which one she’s welcome on.
“Diego…”
“It’s fine,” he rolls over, not looking at her. “You can build a pillow wall if it’ll make you feel better.”
Y/N nods, not wanting to admit how glad she was that she could sleep next to Diego tonight. She’d feel this way about anyone at the moment, right? It’s got nothing specifically to do with him. Her mind is racing, as she climbs into bed, hoping to fall into a deep slumber as quick as. She doesn’t build a pillow wall.
***
Barely an hour passes before Y/N is woken up suddenly by a sound. She sits up in bed, eyes bleary and watery, looking around the room with squinting eyes. The bathroom light is on, shining through the cracks, and Diego is no longer beside her.
She hears the sound again, a soft whimper, barely audible. It’s coming from the bathroom, and she can already guess who it is. She slowly scoots out of bed, tiptoeing on unsteady feet towards the door, knocking slightly. No answer. And the noise has stopped.
She knocks again, trying the door handle at the same time. It budges, as she gradually pulls it open. The sight was heartbreaking. Diego sits in a curled up ball in the corner, covering his face, and desperately trying to stop his heavy breathing. He doesn’t acknowledge Y/N’s presence, as she moves over to him, crouching down. She gently grabs his hands, pulling them away to see his red, tear stained face.
“I’ve lost everything,” he whispers, breaking Y/N’s heart more than it already was. “I feel like my life’s over.”
Y/N strokes his hands, trying her best to soothe him in anyway that might work.
“I have no purpose without her,” he continues. “I try saving the world, but I couldn’t save the one thing that matters the most to me. I’m useless.”
“That is not true,” Y/N finally replies, hating these thoughts running through Diego’s mind. “Her actions are not a reflection on you.”
Diego begins to protest, but Y/N quickly shuts him down. “I know how much you care. Sometimes I think you care a little too much. But that just proves how good of a husband and father you were. You did nothing wrong. It’s all on her. And Five.”
She chokes out the last part, almost forgetting about her own problems. They’re both going through this, together.
Y/N doesn’t even realise she’s now crying too, holding her hand up to her mouth to muffle the sound of her sobs. Diego reaches out, pulling her into a bone crushing hug, the pair needing comfort from each other more than anything.
She moves her head back slightly, kissing Diego on the forehead, then the cheek, then hesitating at his lips. Her mind feels fuzzy, as the alcohol in her system still lingers, jumping between the pros and cons of what she’s about to do. Diego makes the decision for her.
The kiss is soft at first, his moustache tickling her upper lip, the sensation of it weird but not unpleasant. She wraps her arms around his neck as he puts his hands on both sides of her face, deepening it into a full blown make out session. Y/N opens her mouth, allowing Diego to slip his tongue in, eliciting a quiet moan from her.
Their current position is uncomfortable, as Diego sits pressed up against the sink with Y/N crouched down in front of him. He pushes her back slightly, so they can both stand, never stopping the kiss. The room feels hot, as they walk out of the bathroom and aim for the bed, Diego sitting down on the edge with Y/N straddling his lap. She quickly removes her top and bra, drawing the man’s attention to her breasts. He moves away from her lips, traveling down until he’s eye level with her chest. He takes one in his mouth, sucking harshly, while his hand massages the other.
“Oh fuck,” Y/N sighs, throwing her head back.
She grabs his hair, pulling a fistful of it, forcing Diego to suck harder. She moves her hips back and forth on his crotch, desperately wanting to get out of the rest of her clothes.
As if reading her mind, Diego pulls back, moving them both higher up the bed, quickly removing his pants as Y/N does the same. Now completely nude, the pair become a sweaty mess of body and limbs, wrapping themselves around each other, and making sounds the other occupants in the motel can definitely hear.
Diego’s thrusts are meticulous, as he hooks one of his arms under her leg, pushing in and out, knowing all the right places to make Y/N scream out in ecstasy. He kisses her lips, her neck, her chest and her breasts, not wanting to leave out any part of her. He makes her feel wanted, admired, needed. Like he can’t breathe without her. It feels good. They carry on into the night, and early morning, for a moment all their problems don’t exist anymore.
***
Y/N wakes up first. Her head is pounding, her mouth is dry, and there’s a dull ache between her legs. She grumbles, the memories of last night rushing back to her in an instant. Some good, some bad, and some unforgettable. A small part of her is consumed with guilt, knowing what she did could be seen as hypocritical.
But as Diego’s strong arm wrapped around her waist pulls her closer to his chest, snuggling into her neck, that feeling washes away. In some selfish way, they both needed this. An eye for an eye, as most would say. It’s not going to end well, and she knows they’ll have to eventually deal with the consequences the same way Five and Lila did, but for now, the rest of the world can wait a while. Y/N turns around, moving impossibly closer to Diego, the man who made her feel wanted at a time where she didn’t think she was.

Hi! Do you mind doing like an angsty fluff with Diego where you finally meet him again in the 60s at Elliot’s after he’s been stuck at the mental institution, but somethings off, he’s got someone else glued to his hip.
Meeting again

Summary: You were the last sibling, landing onto your feet, infront of a usual looking ally. The first thing, which came to your mind was finding the others, especially Diego. But little did you know, after finding him you wish you never did.
Thank you for your lovely request, even tho it broke my heart! Also, here a sexy poster from Five I fell in love with! With every purchase you automatically support me :) https://amzn.to/3yGK6Fm
“She’s… we’ve been through a lot together”
After getting brutally teleported into a different timeline, falling out of two meters onto hard concrete and getting cat-called by multiple old man on the streets, your day already was ruined. Thinking that it couldn't get any worse was understandable but at the same time so wrong. It got worse, it got incredibly worse.
You were on a hunt. `your prey?', you may ask. A six foot tall, handsome (you would never tell him that, his ego is big enough), and amazingly accurate knife throwing man. It was difficult to overlook him. You were kind of disappointed, that he didn't make you a trail out of knifes like in Hensel and Gretel. Something like that would have made it easier to find him. But as you knew him, everywhere he stepped a foot, he left a mark. Involuntary most times.
34 days later...
You’ve been searching for Diego for what feels like forever, a gnawing worry in your gut that only grew with each passing day. When you finally heard that he’d been taken to a mental institution after landing in the 60s, your heart dropped. The relief of knowing he was alive was quickly overshadowed by the fear of what he’d been through.
The day you finally walk into Elliot’s place, you spot him immediately. Your heart leaps at the sight of him—alive, whole, and so achingly familiar. But something’s off. He’s not alone. There’s a woman glued to his side, her hand resting on his arm as if it belongs there. She’s talking to him, and he’s smiling down at her, a softness in his eyes that you’ve only ever seen directed at you.
You freeze in the doorway, the world tilting on its axis. The Diego you know would have come running to you, would have swept you into his arms without a second thought. But this Diego just glances up, his eyes widening in surprise, then flicking back to the woman beside him. It’s like a punch to the gut, leaving you breathless and disoriented.“Diego?” Your voice is small, uncertain, as if you’re not sure if this is really happening. His gaze finally locks onto yours, and for a moment, you see the Diego you know—the one who fought for you, who would do anything to keep you safe. But then he steps back, putting a small distance between the two of you, as if he’s unsure of how to bridge the gap that’s formed between you.
“Y/N,” he says, your name coming out in a breath, like he’s been holding it in this whole time. But his tone is guarded, almost hesitant, and it breaks your heart a little more. The woman at his side looks between the two of you, confusion and maybe a hint of understanding dawning on her face. You force yourself to smile, but it feels brittle. “It’s good to see you,” you say, even though every part of you is screaming that this isn’t right. That something has changed, something you don’t know if you can fix.
Diego glances at the woman beside him, then back at you. “This is Lila,” he introduces, and there’s something in the way he says her name that makes your stomach churn. “She’s… she helped me get out of the hospital.” “Helped?” The word comes out sharper than you intended, and you see Diego flinch. Lila doesn’t seem to notice, or maybe she just doesn’t care. She smiles at you, and it’s almost too easy, too friendly. “Yeah, helped,” Diego replies, his voice softer now, like he’s trying to ease you into something you’re not ready to hear. “She’s… we’ve been through a lot together.”
The unspoken words hang in the air between you, and you can feel your heart cracking just a little more with each passing second. “I’m glad you’re okay,” you manage to say, even though your voice trembles. Diego’s eyes soften, and for a brief moment, it’s just the two of you again, like it used to be. “I’m glad you’re here,” he says, and you know he means it, but there’s still that barrier between you, the one you’re not sure how to cross.
Lila touches his arm, and the moment shatters. “We should go,” she says, looking up at Diego, and he nods, though he looks back at you as if he wants to say something more. “Yeah,” he agrees, and the word feels like a goodbye. “We’ll talk later, okay?”
You nod, unable to trust your voice. You watch as they walk away, side by side, and it feels like your heart is being wrenched out of your chest. But just before they disappear, Diego glances back at you one last time, and in his eyes, you see it—the regret, the confusion, the love he’s trying so hard to push down. And you know, deep down, that this isn’t the end. But it doesn’t stop it from hurting like hell.
Alright I will go cry now but still thanks for the request :)

Sorrow / Diego Hargreeves
summary: five doesn't see you as a friend/platonic partner anymore. but to diego's eyes you are his everything.
ps; english isn't my first language so i appolgize for any grammar errors! (also i wanted to write a short diego hargreeves prompt, bc in this house, we stan diego period. and he deserves everything.)
enjoy!
“I don’t love you anymore,”
The words still echo in the recesses of your mind, haunting you with their bitter finality. You replay the moment when the same phrase was uttered, over and over again. I don’t love you anymore. After all you've endured together in the apocalypse—surviving as a team, protecting each other—it wasn't enough for him. His desires grew, but they no longer included you. He craved something more, something that left you behind.
And for what excuse he said? To protect you.
It wasn’t until hours later that your entire body began to feel stiff. With everyone else—Lila’s family included—watching from the sidelines, you felt utterly numb. Your lips couldn't form a final sentence, no explanation for the choice that led you here. Even your eyes refused to look away. As your fingers trembled, you struggled to hold back the tears, but that’s when you finally broke. His voice, calling out for you in despair, was unbearable. You wanted to block out every sound, including the sound of your own sobbing.
But you couldn’t escape it. Diego’s voice grew louder, angrier, until it became the only thing you could focus on. He was your voice in that moment, the one who truly understood, whose first instinct was always to check if you were okay. Yet part of you wished he would stop yelling, stop pretending he wasn’t hurt. Why feel hurt at all? The Handler had told you not to, and so had Five. Now, you stood before someone who was nothing more than a stranger. When Diego’s voice suddenly cut through the chaos, trembling with fear, he asked, "Y/N?" His voice mirrored the fear in your eyes when they met his.
Without a word, the room grew cold, the silence thick and suffocating. Your heart pounded wildly, and all you wanted to do was run—so you did. You ran as fast as your legs could carry you. Diego’s voice, calling your name, faded into a distant echo as you glanced back to see him chasing after you. But why? What was he trying to hold onto? It didn’t matter. You kept running until your legs gave out, your mind and spirit utterly drained. Collapsing in the middle of the walkway, you fell to your knees, tears streaming down your face. Five’s words had finally shattered you. And then, Diego’s arms found you.
“Shh…” His soft, reassuring whispers began to calm you, even as your cries of despair continued. He gently rocked you in his arms, urging you to look at him as he promised that everything would be okay—that he was there for you. “Breathe. Exhale,” he murmured, and you tried your best to follow his words. As a few tears slipped down your cheeks, he tenderly wiped them away, the warmth of your tears meeting the cold touch of his fingers. Your eyelids fluttered shut at the sensation. “I’m here,” he whispered, pulling you closer to his chest and planting a soft kiss on your forehead. He, too, knew what it meant to lose someone you love.
“Nobody is going to hurt us, anymore. I promise.”

Dating yandere TUA characters
Luther Hargreeves
Luther insists on training you to be strong and capable, just like him
He believes that the only way you can be safe is if you can defend yourself
He constantly pushes you beyond your limits, often to the point of exhaustion, but he sees it as necessary to protect you
Luther frequently brings up shared memories, emphasizing how much you mean to him and how special your bond is
He uses these memories to create a sense of dependency, making it seem like no one else understands or cares for you as deeply as he does
As the de facto leader of the Hargreeves siblings, Luther naturally takes charge
He extends this authority into your relationship, making decisions on your behalf and expecting you to comply without question
He believes he knows what’s best for you and often dismisses your opinions
Luther talks about your future together as if it’s already decided, with plans for marriage, children, and a shared life
He doesn’t seek your input on these plans, instead presenting them as inevitable and perfect, making it hard for you to voice any doubts or objections
Luther loves taking you on spontaneous trips to remote and isolated places where you can be alone together
These adventures are meant to be romantic, but they also serve to keep you away from others and make you more reliant on him
He collects and cherishes items that remind him of you, like a lock of your hair, a piece of your clothing, or a note you wrote
He keeps these mementos in a secret box, often looking at them to feel closer to you
Luther overanalyzes your interactions with others, always on the lookout for potential threats
He questions you about your relationships and can become paranoid, interpreting innocent actions as signs of betrayal or disinterest
Luther needs constant reassurance of your love and commitment
He frequently asks if you love him and requires you to demonstrate your affection through words and actions, making it difficult for you to express any dissatisfaction or desire for space
Luther often physically places himself between you and perceived dangers, whether it’s a person or a situation
His protective nature can be comforting, but it also isolates you and limits your freedom
Luther exaggerates situations to make himself your hero
He might create problems just so he can solve them and reinforce the idea that you need him to protect and save you
Luther intervenes in your life decisions, believing he knows what’s best for you
This includes your career, friends, and hobbies
He frames his control as care and concern, making it hard for you to see his actions as manipulative
Luther buys you clothes and insists you wear them, often choosing items that reflect his taste and preferences
He wants to shape your appearance to fit his ideal image of you
Luther keeps a secret box filled with mementos from your relationship, like movie tickets, dried flowers, and photos
He looks at these items to feel closer to you and to remind himself of your bond
Without your knowledge, Luther sets up cameras in your home to monitor you and “ensure your safety”
He justifies this invasion of privacy as a necessary precaution to protect you
Luther establishes strict traditions in your relationship, like weekly date nights or annual trips, which you must follow
These traditions create a sense of routine and stability but also limit your autonomy
Luther pushes you to integrate deeply with his family, encouraging you to spend more time with his siblings and less with your own family and friends
This isolates you from your support network and makes you more dependent on him
