Daft Punk's Electroma is a 2006 avant-garde science fiction film directed by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk. The story revolves around the quest of two robots to become human.

Daft Punk shot their cult film Electroma, trading the dancefloor for the desert and turning a forgotten Ferrari into a cult icon.

The car? A 1987 Ferrari 412, the last of Ferrari's front-engine V12 grand tourers. Built in tiny numbers and once dismissed as "un-Ferrari-like," it found new life on screen. In the film's opening sequence, the duo glide through barren California highways, their black 412 gleaming under a custom "HUMAN" plate, a nod to their album Human After All.

Two nearly identical 412s were used: one for the cinematic desert shots, another for editorial fashion stills and promos that reimagined the car as retro-futurist art.

Before Electroma, the 412 was an overlooked '80s GT. After Daft Punk, it became part of their robotic mythos and a pop culture artifact.
