How to Bit Procrastination

Stand up and be productive! 💙

Procrastination is the bane of every student’s existence. We know what we should be doing; we just don’t want to do it. It’s easy to put off undesirable assignments until the very last minute, but then we’re forced to pull a stress-induced all-nighter. Here are some tips to crush procrastination and actually get some sleep for once!

1. Get organized

First of all, you can't do any work if you don't know what assignments need to be completed. Invest in a planneror start using the calendar app on your phone. This makes it much easier to keep track of individual assignments and important due dates.

2. Create a timeline/schedule

After you set your goals, create a timeline to complete them. This could be a study schedule for your big exam coming up or it could be mapping out an essay you have to write. Breaking an assignment into small chunks over time makes it much more manageable.

3. Set a deadline

It's important to set a specific date for when you want your goals to be accomplished. If you have an assignment due, aim to have it completed one or two days in advance. That way, if something unexpected happens, you still have extra time to complete it. 

4. Get rid of distractions

It’s important to rid yourself of all potential disruptions before you begin working so you don’t get needlessly sidetracked halfway through your task. Distractions could also be external sources, like annoying siblings. Try listening to classical music or white noise to drown out their constant chatter. Alternatively, you could change study environments all together and head down to the local library or coffee shop, where you can clear your mind and study distraction-free. 

5. Take a break

It's important to take mental breathers from school work every now and then. When your timer goes off, take a 10–30-minute break. Listen to music, take a walk, do some laundry, or scream into a pillow—anything that takes your mind off of work and allows you to relax. 

6. Use incentives

Everyone loves being rewarded. It’s important to give yourself incentives, no matter how small. It could be something as simple as, "If I work on this assignment for an hour, I'll watch an episode of my favorite TV show tonight." It’s easier to pay attention when something is at stake. 

7. Get the hard stuff done first

It is best to complete your most challenging assignments first. That way everything after it seems easier and takes a shorter amount of time. If you keep pushing that English essay back, you’re never going to get it done. It’s best to buckle down and just do it.

2020 is a scary year of all. It gives the world a lot of things to remember. The world if full of sorrow and sadness. Every countries are facing a phenomena, there were volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, pandemic and typhoons that killed many lives.

In the Philippines, especially in the month of November there were typhoons and super typhoon that ruin every area of the country. Super typhhon Rolly beat the Typhoon Yolanda and Ondoy way back then because of its higher level that reaches signal number 5 that really affects and leave a mark to peoples lives, it damaged the region of Bicol. On the other hand, one typhoon also that has a big impact to the country is typhoon Ulysses that hit the Southern and Central Luzon area. Most of its victims are crying and seeking for help. The water is on the level of their roof they had no place to run or to go and most of the house are under the water. The innocent children are crying because of the fear that this typhoon Ulysses brought to them.

Now that us, who are safe we all know that we are not talking too much about humanity but now is the answer to make an actions about humanity. This is the time to practice humanity. Now that our country is facing a big problem, our countrymen are dying and needs to be rescue as soon as possible. It is the time to show kindness and compassion despite of any circumstances. It's time to lend our hands to those who badly need it. Let us help each other to save lives.

To those who doesn't have the amount to donate, one way solution also is to PRAY. Pray for our countrymen to be strong enough and be safe in this kind of situation. Prayer really works, it is powerful, and the only answer to our problems. Dealing with the toxic people in your life

But over time, praise of these qualities will be minimized because you are being used in the service of someone who really doesn’t care about you. They really just care about what you can do for them.

Trust your gut.

One reason insecurely attached people stay in hurtful relationships is a lack of trust in themselves or their judgment. If your default position is to always rationalize toxic behavior, this is the moment to stop and realize why you’re doing the excusing.

Don’t normalize abusive behavior.

This is especially important if you’ve been in a toxic relationship for a long time or you grew up around people who used words as weapons. You know yourself who proved true in the few years you have been together but his words are just like weapons as if there is no bullet but it hurts.

Guard those boundaries or plan an exit strategy.

When you know something is wrong and you feel like the person you are talking to is treating you differently, you are the one who knows what your limits and boundaries are with each other.

With the awakening of our eyes, it is unthinkable that a trial will come which no one knows. A battle, that everyone is afraid of. All of us are afraid of not knowing where to stick.

With the entry of a year into our lives which is not just a normal month, it is not just a normal illness. But this year was a pain in the ass, almost everyone feels.

Every month goes by that everyone thinks the trial is over, that the Burning in the forests, The killing of animals, The spread of Viruses, The presence of strong Hurricanes, The Floods and the homeless and loved ones of life.

Everyone wants to finish this year; no one likes the pain it causes. That is where we are in the middle of November where only a few days and a month later it will end.

This year I have learned where:

1. Everyone locks on their house to be with the family and show to love them. That no matter what happens; only the family is always with us. Family which is most important.

2. Maintain health at all times.

3. This year we experienced not being able to breathe fresh air, which was blocked by Facemask and Face shield. Those every time we go out to our homes we always carry it, and wear it.

4. Everyone experienced being in control.

5. This year we have been taught to be content with what you have, and to understand what you do not have.

6. There were online classes where I used to read and watch only on TVs.

7. This year has taught us to endure some days without power.

8. Be independent

9. A lot of money does not matter, just enough.

10. And lastly let us learn to pray, to pray not only for ourselves but for all.

Here this year we were taught everything we thought was easy, we were taught in a trial we have never experienced. Maybe, this is the time to change, the time to change ourselves because this person has taught us, that not everything is easy, that not everything is available in a moment that not everything is permanent.

That we have experienced this, not to regret who is at fault, but to love each other more and show true heroism to this person who no one really knows when this fight will end. We just know in ourselves that we will fight and we will fight until now.

And just one of the most important lessons here is to stay in love with each other, have bayanihan, and strengthen our faith in the Lord. Because we have no other gratitude even though we have experienced hardship, let us be happy because we woke up, learned, and no matter how much was damaged, no matter how much we lost, we still have faith in him and strengthen it even more through prayer. A Prayer, not only to oneself but to all.
