i wish james patterson gave the flocks names more of a backstory. like i LOVE max’s last name being based off of sally ride the astronaut, but like this is a girl who’s never gone to school so did jeb teach them about space? about history? did she read a book? where did fang and iggys names come from?? he could’ve written a great flashback/callback moment but nahhh

POV, you are Fang. Your pet 6-year-old teams up with a mad scientist and they fucking kill you. This is the first nap you’ve gotten in 15 years. Your girlfriend/bestie brings you back to life just in time to see your found family murder everyone in the room except the guy who literally murdered you, because apparently that was taking things too far, and your rival love interest attempt suicide. Nothing comes of that last point, apparently he injected himself with saline or something. You stumble back to your safehouse, where your pet 6-year-old still lives with you, her murder (manslaughter??) unaddressed, and so does your (suicidal??) rival, his suicide also unaddressed. Your girlfriend/bestie says your injuries (you literally died) are “only a bad memory” and your six-year-old (she literally killed you) hasn’t fully made amends with your girlfriend/bestie, but that’s okay because there’s a wedding for a dog coming up. It’s a very expensive event. Planning went into this. Presumably this was being planned before you died. You’re wearing a suit for the first time in your life.

Three hours after the wedding you drop off the face of the earth and tell everyone that you’ll see them in 20 years at the earliest. This is a perfectly reasonable action to take.

sometimes i forget that the max ride kids are truly 2000s kids. like im sure those mfers were going crazy for some one direction, some avril, etc. low rise jeans were probably perfect for their wings too. rip would’ve HATED 2020s ultra high rise jeans
