Here I am in a cloud forest in Chyulu Hills in Kenya hugging a centuries old fig tree. This cloud forest provides water for 4 million people on the coast of Kenya. All around the world, forests like these cleanse the air, sequester carbon and make our world beautiful. A just released study shows that we need to keep 50% of the world's lands in its natural state to prevent dangerous warming and ecosystems unraveling as reported by @natgeo. Investing and supporting the indigenous communities who live in these areas is one of the most effective means of protecting them. And, if we could plant 1.2 trillion trees, it would cancel out a decade of emissions. So let's celebrate the Earth today by embracing the forests we have and growing the ones we don't. Hug a tree. It will embrace you and the generations to come ten-fold. I'm totally feeling like this guy lately. Refusing to join the crowds in supporting and praising political and spiritual frauds as well as groups or organizations parading their conspiracy agendas to blindly lead the collective down yet another mindless trap. We're not truly awakening if we are still going down the same roads that lead us nowhere but to the same dead end of the same unlearned lessons and patterns. We've truly learned nothing yet. We have changed nothing. We are not the change. The ego still begs to be controlled and told what to believe, who to hate, what to think, and how to behave. We still choose to be told our fates and let our story be told by outside sources. We don't need to talk of "end times" as we have always been marked by the beast. We swooned over it as it was decorated with bells and whistles, glitter and gold, known as our daily pleasures like our tech toys, electronics, internet, WiFi, CCTV cameras, vaccines, processed foods, famine, chipped bank cards, trackers in phones, cars, voice activated gadgets, and for decades and centuries we've experienced plagues, famine, poisoned air, food, and water, the numbers and identity we're given the day we're birthed into this world, etc.. we have been "marked" since day one. But here we are fretting over which political leaders are the ant-christ, or over which dark agendas are yet to be manifest, turning us against each other with the need to be right and "divinely" superior for it. All in the name of religion, politics, spiritual awakening/consciousness, new age, conspiracy theorists, etc.. I'm sure I'm alone on this as I know where everyone around me stands.
