Uma revista, 25 UTAUloids
Imagem por: catticoon
UTAUloids Windows100% incluídos: Kane Tomo, Asane Sana, Mizuo, Akeko, Hagane Hey, Korone Koro, Sakurai Kaon, Amaha Sora typeLON, Ane Mone e Madone Momo. Outros UTAUloids incluídos: Kasane Teto, Momone Momo, Yokune Ruko, Namine Ritsu, Haruka Nana, Sekka Yufu, Satemaro, Pam & Pamyu, Kumono Tsuki, Shigure Nao, Soune Taya, Asane Bou e Komura Gaeri.
UTAU Perfect Master
UTAUloids Windows100% incluídos: Hoshino Fumika, Kane Tomo (1sai), Maita, Mitsuko, KA-CHANLOID, KUJILOID, DAICHI, Harune Hana, Kazene Funa e DeoFairy NOL. Outros UTAUloids incluídos: Kasane Teto VCV, Yokune Ruko ♀/♂, Namine Ritsu Kire, Haruka Nana VCV, Sekka Yufu VCV, Keine Ron, Katapa Ruto, Pumpking the Testloid, tori, Fuuga Koto, LOKE, Yamatouchi Iori, Honoka Mei, Maega Emi, Kemonone Rou, Giga Lacan, Matsudappoiyo, Hakuappoid, Rook, Minorine Towano, Asane Bou VCV, Shirakane Hinata, Madoromi Chika, Ooka Miko e Otodamaya Nitarou & Ichihime.
Ane Mone
• Nome: 姉音モネ (Ane Mone) • Datas de lançamento: 13 de abril de 2011 (Windows100% maio/2011) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 23 de janeiro de 2012 (UTAU Starter Pack) • Provedor de voz: Otouto No Ane • Ilustrador: マルイノ • Exemplos de uso: HOPE e Joker

Mizuo
• Nome: みずお (Mizuo) • Datas de lançamento: 11 de novembro de 2011 (Windows100% dezembro/2011) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 23 de janeiro de 2012 (UTAU Starter Pack) • Provedor de voz: Kaoru Mizuhara • Ilustrador: Tomioka Jirou • Exemplos de uso: Persecution Complex Cellphone Girl e Happy?
23 de janeiro de 2012 (UTAU Starter Pack) • Provedor de voz: Asami Sanada • Ilustrador: Hinata • Exemplos de uso: Kagaribito e Ai Kotoba

DeoFairy NOL

Harune Hana e Kazane Funa
• Nome: 春音ハナ (Harune Hana) ㅤㅤㅤㅤ 風音フナ (Kazane Funa) • Datas de lançamento: 12 de maio de 2012 (Windows100% junho/2012) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 17 de dezembro de 2012 (UTAU Perfect Master) • Provedor de voz: Fuuka Haruna • Ilustrador: ポリポリ • Exemplos de uso: Lies and a Parade e First Kiss and… It's Another Maze There e Night Tales Deceive (Funa)

DAICHI
• Nome: DAICHI • Datas de lançamento: 13 de setembro de 2012 (Windows100% outubro/2012) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 17 de dezembro de 2012 (UTAU Perfect Master) • Provedor de voz: Daichi Kanbara • Ilustrador: 煎茶 • Exemplos de uso: Folia -Flight of the Iron Chain- e 夏夕空
Kane Tomo (1sai)
• Nome: 奏音トモ(1さい) (Kane Tomo (1 sai)) • Datas de lançamento: 13 de outubro de 2012 (Windows100% novembro/2012) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 17 de dezembro de 2012 (UTAU Perfect Master) • Provedor de voz: Tomoko Kaneda • Ilustrador: 今泉昭彦 • Exemplos de uso: In Spring, With You e Goodbye, April's Mr. Doppel

KA-CHANLOID
• Nome: かあちゃんロイド (Kaa-chanroido) • Datas de lançamento: 13 de novembro de 2012 (Windows100% dezembro/2012) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ 17 de dezembro de 2012 (UTAU Perfect Master) • Provedor de voz: Aoki Kazuyo • Ilustrador: くらふと • Exemplos de uso: Joking Speaker e Doraemon no Uta
Chono Masahiroid
• Nome: 蝶野マサヒロイド (Chōno Masahiroido) • Data de lançamento: 12 de janeiro de 2013 (Windows100% fevereiro/2013) • Provedor de voz: Chono Masahiro • Ilustrador: グラゲイダー • Exemplos de uso: Sugarvine e Chono on Your Right Shoulder
Utanami Kazusa
• Nome: 歌浪カズサ (Utanami Kazusa) • Data de lançamento: 13 de fevereiro de 2013 (Windows100% março/2013) • Provedor de voz: Kazusa Aranami • Ilustrador: Romilio • Exemplos de uso: FREELY TOMORROW e Regret Message
Momochi Minami
• Nome: 桃知みなみ (Momochi Minami) • Data de lançamento: 13 de março de 2013 (Windows100% abril/2013) • Provedor de voz: Minami Momochi • Ilustrador: ha-ru • Exemplos de uso: Circus Monster e GO MY WAY!!
Ihiro
• Nome: いひろ (Ihiro) • Data de lançamento: 13 de abril de 2013 (Windows100% maio/2013) • Provedor de voz: Hiromi Igarashi • Ilustrador: kakao • Exemplos de uso: Artemis e Ninja Re Bang Bang

Yona Fanbook Q&A - Questions from the Fans Answered!
Q&A 1-10
Q1. Judo is from the Sky Tribe, so is he related to Yona and Suwon?
A1. He is not related. He’s not a member of the royal family like Yona and Suwon. He worked his way up through the ranks of the imperial guard and became the General.
Q2. How did Shinah survive after the previous Seiryuu Ao died? What did he do about food and clothing?
A2. Shinah scared the villagers and nobody went near him, but it wasn’t like he was physically trapping them and tormenting them, so he was given food and clothing from the villagers. It’s just that he received too little, so he went outside and gathered supplies. Also, after he took possession of the bell he grew to love ornaments, so he’d take necklaces and such when bandits dropped them and put them on himself.
Q3. Can Shinah read characters? Can he write? (submitted by our own @iluvluvnutella!)
A3. Other than simple characters, he can’t read or write. The Happy Hungry Bunch have been teaching him.
Q4. The Wind Tribe has a lot of displaced kids, but are Tae-wu and Hen-dae like that, too?
A4. Tae-wu was an orphan and put in the care of a couple in Fuuga. Hen-Dae is not an orphan and was born and raised in Fuuga.
Q5. It seems that Yona has now completely occupied Tae-Jun’s mind, but did he love Yona when she was in the castle? Or was he just aiming for the throne?
A5. He was just aiming for the throne (LOL). But he thought she was cute, too.
Q6. All of the Four Dragons are the only children of their families, but did dragons of the past have siblings?
A6. Kija’s father, the previous Hakuryuu, had an older brother. (he appeared in ch.16)
Q7. Were there any other dragons that lived up to now aside from the originals, Jaeha et al, and Previous Seiryuu Ao that Zeno met?
A7. Zeno had all the time in the world, so I would think he took a peak at every new generation of the Four Dragons.
Q8. Mundok knows that Hak loves Yona, doesn’t he?
A8. He went so far as to betroth him to someone else, so I don’t think he knew all that well. Even if he did he’d probably say YOUR PARTNER IS THE PRINCESS AND YOU MUST FEAR AND REVERE HER. He probably would have wanted Hak to settle down and raise a family in the village. Hak has already left the village, so now he only wishes for Hak’s happiness.
Q9. When Lili takes a future husband, will that husband succeed the family of the Water Tribe’s General? Also, have there been any female generals among the Five Generals before?
A9. Essentially, the General picks their successor, so it’s common for their children or relatives to become the General. However, it’s not something that’s hereditary so Lili will not necessarily become a General, and her husband will not necessarily be on the course to becoming the General. Besides, Papa Jungi wants to make Lili a bride of the royal house right now. I’m not sure how that’s going to turn out, either. Incidentally, there have been female Generals.
Q10. In the Xing arc, vol.23 ch. 131, Hak probably tried saying “Yona” with the same feeling as he did before, didn’t he?
A10. Was it the same feeling? (LOL) Hak doesn’t wish to abandon calling her Yona. It’s just that the respect he has towards her is strong, too.

Hakyona Week Bonus Day: Future
Ship: Hakyona
Rating: G
Genre: Fluff
Blurb: Ayame lets Yona barrow a certain, very important hair comb. Follow up to this fic.
“You really don’t need to use your nice makeup on me,” Yona says as Ayame turns away from her to reapply her makeup brush. “I haven’t worn any makeup in a while, I really don’t mind not wearing any tonight.”
Ayame bats the worry away with a dismissive gesture of her hand. “Lord Mundok paid for it, and you’re as much his grandchild as I am.” She leans downward to apply something to Yona’s lips.
They had stopped in Fuuga because Yun pointed out that he was out of nearly all of his medical supplies. Or rather, he’d grumbled about certain “reckless beasts” using up the last of his bandage rolls. Hak had wanted to stop only briefly to grab the supplies and go, but Jaeha had been the one to point out that he really wouldn’t mind sleeping in a real bed for a night. Kija had been in tears of joy at the prospect, so for all his hesitance, Hak relented and led everyone to Mundok’s Villa.
They’d been lucky enough to drop by during the Wind Tribe’s annual Kaze no Saiten, which as Hak was quick to point out, was a pretty made-up festival the Tribe had created as an excuse to party. Mundok and Tae-yeon had quickly dragged him off to catch up, while the dragons and Yun had been located to one of the biggest guest rooms in the Villa. Many of the girls had dragged Yona off to the room she’d stayed in last time she was in Fuuga, insisting she attend the night’s celebrations. She hadn’t really resisted much, since a part of her missed dressing up from time to time. Admittedly though, she felt a little awkward around Ayame—Hak’s once-fiancée who Yona had felt some envy toward when she first heard of the ill-fated union.
The awkwardness didn’t seem to bother Ayame, though. Perhaps she didn’t notice, but occasionally Yona could see the girl studying her from the corner of her eye. Yona suspected she knew something, or at least thought something of her. Either way, Ayame seemed content to keep it to herself and had been busily constructing Yona’s makeup for the evening.
“What do you think of this one, Yona-hime?” Says another Wind Tribe girl, whom Yona had learned was named Mao.
Mao was holding up one of her gowns—pink and floral-print with a high-waisted cream sash, presenting it as Yona’s maids used to when they dressed her each morning. Mao was smaller and closer to Yona’s height than Ayame was, so she had been the one offering her clothes for the night’s festivities.
“It’s lovely,” Yona says, shifting in her stool. “I hope it isn’t too expensive. I wouldn’t want to ruin your clothes.”
Mao shakes her head, the beaded strands of her fringe bobbing. “It’s fine, pink doesn’t really suit me anyhow. You could keep it if you like!”
“No, no! That’s fine, I’ll just use it for tonight, thank you.” Yona says, embarrassed. Was the entire Wind Tribe so aggressively kind like this?
Ayame leans back over to finish applying the colour to Yona’s lips, and some blush to her cheeks. Once satisfied, she steps back and appraises her work with a nod. Yona slips off the stool and pads over to the mirror hanging on the wall opposite to her. It had been a while since she’d seen herself in makeup; she wondered what Hak would think. Would he notice?
Probably. Hak notices everything.
“Thank you,” She says, glancing back at the other girls, and they both smile in response.
“Anyways,” Mao drapes the dress onto Yona’s futon. “We better start getting dressed ourselves.”
Mao gives a little wave, before slipping out of the room. Ayame lingers a moment by the door, biting her lower lip.
“I have one more thing for you, if you wouldn’t mind waiting?” She says, almost tentatively.
Yona blinks. “I… sure, I don’t mind waiting.”
Without another word, Ayame steps out of the room and slides the door closed behind her. When she’s gone, Yona takes the opportunity to put on Mao’s gown. It’s silken and smooth against her skin, a nostalgic sensation she hasn’t felt in what seemed like years. Her regular clothes had long since worn down with wash and wear; even she had to admit they’d seen better days.
She wanders to the mirror again, pulling back the wild strands of her hair. It had grown out to graze her back, now finally long enough to put up if she wanted. After a few minutes of struggling with it, Yona drops her hair with a sigh. She’d grown up having someone else do her hair every day; she didn’t know how to do it on her own. Maybe she should ask Yun to teach her.
There’s a knock at the door, and Yona gives a start.
“Come in,” She calls, smoothing her hair down.
Ayame slips into the room, fully dressed in a green kimono and her longish blonde hair pinned back with an ornate silver comb. She slides the door shut behind her carefully, then makes her way to the stool Yona had gotten her makeup done in.
“Come sit, I’ll do your hair.” She says, patting the wooden seat.
Yona obeys, plopping down on the seat.
Ayame responds by combing through Yona’s hair gently, sliding something into her curls, just above her left ear. “I figured we just go really simple, since your hair is so pretty all by itself.”
Yona stands, rushing up to check herself in the mirror again. Three small, perfect orchids sit nestled in her hair, as though they had been somehow woven into the strands themselves. She reaches up to touch them, expecting the smooth, fragile feel of actual flower petals, but instead the orchids were a soft fabric. She tilts her head, marvelling at the lifelike flowers—they looked as if Ayame had simply plucked them off of a garden on her way to the room.
“It’s beautiful,” Yona says softly, and Ayame beams. “But isn’t this expensive? It could fall out of my hair. These flowers—”
Ayame’s smile quickly melts into a frown. “Well, actually, Lord Hak bought it so I’m not sure.”
Yona’s hand freezes over the flowers. “A birthday gift?” Yona asks, ignoring the word fiancée whipping through her mind at a mile a minute.
No, he liked me. He said so.
“No,” Ayame taps her chin. “The gift was pretty out of nowhere, actually. He just sent it to me for no particular reason, a couple of days before you showed up here the first time.”
Yona stares at herself in the mirror, and then sighs. “Still, it was a gift for you. He probably doesn’t want me or anyone else to wear it.”
“Well, actually I have a theory about that.” Ayame says with a pensive little smile. “I don’t think it was for me at all.”
Yona stares questioningly, and Ayame continues without missing a beat.
“I don’t like pink, and Hak knows that.” She says, gesturing to the comb in Yona’s hair. “And see, I’ve long suspected Lord Hak had someone back in Kuuto he loved and after getting this gift… well it confirmed, at least to me, that he must, and that perhaps something went wrong with her.”
Yona looks back to her reflection, back to the flowers that perched so perfectly in her hair. Had the gift perhaps once been meant for her? A birthday gift Hak had never given her?
She’d never questioned him too much about his feelings for her; in all honesty, she was too flustered. All she really knew was that he’d felt that way longer than she could imagine. She wonders if he’d been too nervous to give it to her. What a novel idea that would be—Hak nervous about her, of all people. In many ways, she couldn’t wrap her head around it; Hak was ever brave, ever composed. Was he shaken enough by her that he didn’t give her the gift? Did he decide it was inappropriate for their relationship?
The thought made her sad. She never had shown Hak how grateful she was for his friendship back then. She’d taken his presence and his kindness for granted. Perhaps that had led him to believe she wouldn’t want his gift, or worse, that she wouldn’t care.
Teeth clenched, Yona turns back to Ayame. “I… thank you for this. I will wear it after all.”
Ayame flashes a smile. “Well, good.” She says. “It suits you as though it was made for you.”
Yona pauses for a moment. What does that mean? But before she could voice the question, Ayame had already turned on her heel and left the room without another word.
Yona finds her companions in Fuuga square easily; they stick out sorely from the forming crowds with their multi-coloured hairs. They too, seemed to have been treated by the citizens of the Wind Tribe, seeing as they all now wore several expensive robes Yona had never seen before.
“Don’t you look beautiful, Yona-chan?” Jae-ha tells her as she approaches.
“Thank you,” Yona replies with a smile, and Shinah steps toward her to place Ao atop her head.
“This is so elaborate,” Yun frowns, gazing down the main streets of Fuuga, where the main floor of the party was slowly starting to fill with people. “I can’t remember a time where I’ve seen such a big celebration.”
He was right; the streets were lined with lanterns and paper streamers, the cobblestone dotted with flower petals. The air was smoky with the scent of festival foods and faint music played at the far-end of the city square. Games were set up in stalls along the streets, lined by laughing festivalgoers dressed as fancily as they all were.
“Where’s Hak?” Yona says, squinting through the crowds to look for familiar dark hair.
“You miss him already?” Jae-ha teases, prompting exactly the blush she knew he was trying to provoke.
“We haven’t seen him,” Kija answers instead, elbowing the green dragon sharply. “Perhaps he’s with Lord Mundeok?”
Yona spies between the crowds, watching for that familiar mop of dark hair. Finally, she spots him weaving through the crowd, grinning as his little brother tugged him along at the wrist. Tae-yeon, for his part, seems to notice the Happy Hungry Bunch and makes direct and resolute beeline for them.
“Yona-hime!” The young boy calls, smiling brightly.
“… The smallest blond Hak.” Murmurs Shin-ah, as the Son brothers approach.
“Hi Tae-yeon,” Yona bends to meet the younger brother’s eye, and Ao scampers off of her head and back into Shinah’s hands. “It’s good to see you out and about tonight.”
Tae-yeon cups his mouth and leans toward her. “I brought your husband.”
Immediately, Yona feels dangerous warmth spreading across her face and Jae-ha lets out a cough that sounds suspiciously close to laughter. Hak places a hand to Tae-yeon’s head, ruffling his golden hair.
“Let’s not get carried away, we’re not to that point.” Hak says.
Yona dares to let her gaze jump to Hak, finding that he’s got a hand pressed over his lips and his head tilted away to hide the slight redness colouring his face. So cute.
“Well!” Jae-ha says, throwing an arm over Kija’s shoulders. “I think there were a couple of Wind Tribe girls looking for a dance over there, Kija-kun.”
Kija doesn’t seem to agree, but he also doesn’t argue when Jae-ha drags him away to melt into the quickly growing crowd. Zeno grabs Shin-ah by the arm and also pulls him into the crowd, Yun following closely behind and urging him to be careful not to bump into anyone. Tae-yeon clasps Yona’s hands in his for a moment, squeezing lightly, then runs off in search of his grandfather.
Yona straightens back to her full height, her hands fiddling with the sleeves of her kimono.
“Hime-san… uh, Yona.” Hak corrects himself. “Would you like to dance?”
Predictably, her cheeks warm at the sound of her name from his lips. It was a big adjustment for both of them to make the change to Yona’s name, but she felt it was important. Hak is her lover now, and they should be equals in every way. But that didn’t stop Hak from slipping up, nor did it automatically make Yona accustomed to hearing it from him.
Yona gives a small nod, and allows Hak to pull her onto the edge of the dance floor. He takes her hip in one hand, her hand in the other. He is shockingly good at following the steps, his movements graceful as they are in battle. Although Yona supposed that she shouldn’t be shocked; Hak was a prodigy at everything, why not dancing as well?
“You’re all dressed up,” Hak comments as they dance.
“Mao let me borrow the kimono,” Yona says, her eyes sliding downward to her dress. “Ayame did my makeup.”
“You look pretty.” Hak says it so simply, like he does anything.
“Thank you,” Yona smiles. “I… so do you.”
Hak cocks his head, a brow raised. “I look pretty? Thank you.”
Yona stammers, realizing what she’d just said. “Wait, no I didn’t mean, um—!” She trails off, redder than her hair.
Hak laughs. “It’s alright, I understand.”
His assurance does little to alleviate Yona’s embarrassment. She tilts her head away from him, the rush of heat to her face still intense. At the movement, Yona hears a sudden, quiet exhale from Hak and their dancing comes to a halt. He lifts his hand from her hip to tilt a finger under her chin, his eyes wide, as though he was only now seeing her.
“Hak?” She says, blinking up at him in confusion.
He swallows. His hand slides up her jaw to rest in her hair, his fingers tracing a path of heat that made her heart thump.
“Yona, this is…?” He exhales, and Yona remembers the comb in her hair.
“I barrowed it from Ayame,” She says, her conviction in wearing the comb suddenly withered. “I apologize if it’s an important gift you bought her. I can take it off, if you’d—.”
“No!” Hak says it quickly, as though he thought she’d take it off this very moment if he didn’t get the word out fast enough. “No, no. You look beautiful wearing it.”
She meets his gaze, and he smiles warmly. Hiryuu… she loves that smile. She loves it more than anything. The hand in her hair slides back to her face, his thumb gently tracing her jawline.
“I uh,” He frowns slightly. “I’ve wanted to see you wear it for a long time now.”
The words were an unspoken admittance that the comb had been for her. Just as she’d suspected; it was the birthday gift he’d never given her. Strangely, Yona felt the prickle of tears sting the back of her eyes at the confirmation.
“I’ll wear it everyday.” She says, reaching up to touch the flower comb in her hair.
Hak laughs softly, wiping a stray tear from her cheek. He tilts her chin up to him, his thumb gently brushing her lower lip. Yona blushes harshly at the gesture, her sadness forgotten.
“May I kiss you?” He murmurs.
“Yes.” Yona breathes as he leans close.
Hak smiles, and then presses his lips to hers. It’s soft and chaste, sweet and brief. They were in public after all, but Yona swears the light touch of his lips steals the breath from her lungs. He just never fails to make her lightheaded. No matter how many times he’s kissed her, she can’t ever get used to it.
Hak pulls away slightly, their noses touching. “I love you.”
Yona smiles, cupping his cheek. “I love you too.”
This time, she is the one to close the distance between their lips.

What if the Dragon warriors (except zeno) had a childhood friend they knew since they were little toddlers? Also how would they deal with leaving them to travel with yona and the gang?
okay here goes (also i added Hak because i misread the ask lol, hope thats okay, i got a bit carried away so ready your tissues
Hak-he had a childhood friend back in the wind tribe, but due to bad health she couldnt leave fuuga-when hak mysteriously shows up with a woman with red hair that has a dead look in her eyes, she knows somethings up-she looks a lot like the “ annoying red haired idiot princess” hak had told her about when he came to fuuga sometimes -she confronts hak about it-he trusts her and tells her what happened, and tells her hes leaving the next day-she wants to go with him-he wont let her because of her health-it breaks both of their hearts but it needs to be done-he promises to come back one day when thw whole thing blows over-days later, she gets the news that hak and yona are dead-shes goes into denial-he wouldnt break his promise to her-she tries to leave fuuga to go find him-“he cant be dead, hak’s to strong, im going to go find him and bring him back home”-obviously mundouk wont allow it-but she sneaks out anyway at night-she searches all night, but over exerts herself and starts to have difficulty breathing-she eventually gets to the cliff where hak supposedly “died”-she sees all the blood splatter in the dirt-she finally accepts the fact that he’s really gone-just as she’s about to go back, her blood pressure drops suddenly and she collapses-as she was standing next to the edge, she falls over-‘oh well, at least ill see hak again soon’ is her last thought-hak finds her body the next day, when he goes to find his spear
Kija-his childhood friend is super excited for him-“kija this is what you’ve wanted all your life!!”-she makes him promise to come back one day and tell her all about it-hes reluctant to leave her behind-she would totally go with him but…-her father wont let her-“no way am i letting my precious little girl go prancing of with a group of strange men, no offence to the princess”-kija finally leaves, after hugging his childhood friend one last time
Sinha-for all 18 years of his life, sinha has only had 3 friends, Ao, ao, and the nameless girl who befriended him-like the seiryuu, the girl was abandoned by her parents due to a deformity in her leg, making it impossible for her to walk without an aid. she was never given a name.-her parents left her with the village elders, who gave her to Ao, because “he should take care of all the monsters”-Ao acts like he hates kids, but hes just a closet dad-Ao raises both of them-sinha and the nameless girl grow closer after Ao’s death-she was never afraid of him, and would protect him from the villager’s cruel words.-when sinha decided to leave with yona, he wanted to take his friend with him, but he knew it was impossible-she knew it too, her crooked leg wasnt made for traveling-“its okay seiryuu, ill keep your room warm for you and wheb you come back we can play again ^-^” -she watched as he left with his master, then hobbled back to her cave
jaeha-after he had been in awa for a few weeks as a member of gigang’s pirate crew, he had his first experience in a brothel-he was too young at the time to realize what it was, he just ran into the nearest shop to avoid some officers-“arent you a bit young to be her little man?” a woman, who was clearly in charge, asked-this boy blushed so hard once he realized what that place was-he didnt know where to put his eyes-finally they settled on a young girl who was peeking through a curtain in the back to look at him-she smiled shyly and waved at him-“Hey! whered that music girl go?!?” someone drunkedly yelled from the back.-“Jun are you slacking off again?!?!” the woman in charge yelled back-“n-no ma'am” the girl who had waved jumped and quickly ran back inside the curtain-jaeha took the opportunity to leave that place-but he was curious about that girl-he stayed on the roof of a nearby building all day until finally, around midnight, he saw the shy girl leave-he followed her to the harbor where she sat down and watched the water.-finally he approached her and they talked for awhile-they became good friends almost instantly-she explained that she was the older sister to two little siblings, one of them had weak lungs, that she only took the job at the brothel because their parents had passed away and she had to provide for them.– a few months later Jeaha eventually convinced Jun to quit working at the brothel, and instead joined the pirates, the crew saw her as a little sister and happily provided her and her siblings with plently of food-years passed and Jun grew out of her shyness and became a rowdy pirate, she could hold her own against any of the men.-when yona came to awa and helped them save the town, Jun knew that Jaeha would be leaving with her-jaeha didnt want to leave her there, but she refused to leave with him, as she still had her siblings to care for.-he swore to come back, and take her away with him when her siblings werw well off and could care for themselves-when eventually jeaha left with yona, Jun kept a atong face, but when they were out of sight, she broke down
(A/N well, i made myself cry, i got a bit carried away with a few of those, but i couldnt think of much for kija’s sorry, might turn that last one into a full blown fic)

For the fandom thing: akayona!!
OMG bless
Favorite Male Character: Okay, listen, listen, the boys in this series are wonderful and I love most of them with my whole heart. That said, it’s a toss-up between Shin-ah, Yoon, Tae-jun, and Abi; I’m honestly leaning more towards Shin-ah or Abi, though. … I have a thing for blue dragons, okay.
Favorite Female Character: Uhhhhhh Yona I guess
Least Favorite Character: That priest dude in the Xing arc. I wanna punch that jerk.
Favorite Ship: HakYona, bc I’m stale and mainstream like that lol. But seriously though, it’s so good?? It’s friends to lovers with mutual pining and I’m w e a k, and Hak’s been quashing his pining for her for years to the point where he’s practically reached Enlightenment and also it’s so cute and honestly I’m so excited about where the manga will go now.
Favorite Friendship: Buddy for a shoujo manga AkaYona has a much greater focus on friendships than on romance and that is something I adore, and like with the ‘favorite male chara’ question I Am Conflicted. I really like the dragon brothers and Yoon but even above that is Shin-ah’s friendship with Yona. She gave him a name, told him his hand was warm, asked him to go with her and told him that she wanted him to be free–even without the dragon’s blood, I believe that he’d still form that quick connection with her. She’s the one who led him out of the darkness and the first to require nothing but for him to be himself and she’s the first person to love him since Ao died (KIJA DOESN’T COUNT!! THEY HADN’T PROPERLY MET YET!! BUT THEIR BROTHERHOOD IS ALSO 100000000/10!!) and honestly that’s so beautiful to me and I really love these kids man bless
Favorite Quote: Okay uhhhh I am pants at remembering specific quotes but since I’m on such a kick with the Shin-ah feels “Your hand was warm.” Special mentions go to Hak’s 10/10 confession and also Soo-won’s dub line “See you, little Yona!” which was the most terribly condescending and menacing thing I have ever heard holy heck.
Worst Character Death (if any): Kaya or Ao. Ao died when Shin-ah was four years old, and actually the reasons why I cry over it can be found in this brief post; Kaya’s, on the other hand, was built up to with her ridiculously adorable romance-that-I-don’t-think-was-truly-courtship with Zeno and then that. That ending. He asked her to marry him so close to the eve of her death and begged the yellow dragon god to extend her life, citing that if it could make him immortal it could surely do this for her, and he even said that he would continue to serve the dragon god without complaint if he could just have a few more days with her–
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: THE DRAGON BROTHERS GOING TO SAVE THEIR BABY BRO FROM THE GHOST OF A DRAGON WARRIOR PAST!! Let my son be happy with his family dangit. Oh or when Zeno brought the whole group in for a hug after they found out about the true nature of his power.
Saddest Moment: Kaya’s or Ao’s death.
Favorite location: Fuuga!! Such a nice environment bless those folks

Winter Wonderland.
Yona of the Dawn | Akatsuki no Yona
Shinah x Reader - Fluff
My Yona of the Dawn x Reader List for more one-shots! Check it out!
Small flakes of white danced around the air as countless others drifted to the ground with the elegance of a swan. Choosing to ignore the breathless sights of winter's wonders, Yun made it clear that they were not to make any more stops until they reached his desired destination; an isolated place where none in the group would have to worry about guards or other threats.
"If we keep moving fast enough, we should be able to get there before the sun goes down so it doesn't get too cold." The pretty boy genius sighed and looked to his right. "...That means no frolicking in the snow, (Y/N)."
The girl laughed as she continued to prance around in the soft piles of snow, the ice melting and soaking her feet. But she didn't mind. "I'll just make sure I frolic quickly then. I'm just enjoying myself, Yun!"
"Yeah well, I just want to get out of this cold before we all freeze to death, me especially!" The group continued to trudge through the snow, movements getting slower by the minute.
"(Y/N)-dearie is right, Yun. Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as snow covering the land in a white wonderland?" the green dragon awed aloud, in his questionable flirtatious tone.
"I have, and it happens to be some of the women you have flirted with in the past day or two. Now hurry up-" Yun slouched his shoulders and moaned as he realised he was the only one who was still walking. The rest of the group had stopped with (Y/N) and Jeaha, wanting to play in the snow themselves.
"Wow~ I've never seen snow like this before..." the crimson-haired princess said as she poked the soft ice lying on the ground. "I've only ever seen it when it is as hard as stone!"
"Whenever it snowed in Fuuga, it was always cold and droopy. But the sun is still shining right now," Hak spoke as he looked up into the sky.
"Don't speak too soon, Thunder Beast. See those clouds?" Yun pointed upwards to brooding dark clouds, which seemed to be rolling in rather quickly. "That's why we need to keep moving. If it gets any colder than this, there's no telling how sick we can get."
"Yaaay! Snow day, snow day!" Zeno started bouncing around, making (Y/N) to want to do the same.
"Don't encourage her, Zeno!" Yun angrily shouted.
"Hey, Zeno. Check this out!" (Y/N) got a heap of snow, bunched it all into a snowball and hurled it to the yellow dragon. He saw what was coming, and quickly dodged out of the way, the snowball then hitting the silent blue dragon, who was standing directly behind him. (Y/N) paused, before she broke out into fits of laughter, seeing the snow cover Shinah's mask.
"P-P-Princess," everyone looked to the shivering white dragon, who was standing underneath a tree. "M-may we please keep m-moving? I am almost c-c-certain that my d-dragon arm will f-fall off soon."
Hak cackled at the sorry sight of Kija, whilst the others stifled small laughs of how helpless he looked. "Alright, that's enough everyone. Time to keep moving. I don't want to have to look after any of you like I'm your mother."
"But you act like you are-"
"I am NOT your mother!" The group started trudging along once more, (Y/N) starting to feel the snow melting on top of her head, and slowly started to regret covering herself in so much snow.
Shinah was still trying to wipe the snow off his mask, his small friend Ao helping him, when something shone in his eyes. He quickly put his mask back on, and looked up. Where hundreds of other snowflakes fell, he saw one that was falling noticeably faster than the rest.
He held out his hands to catch it, and saw that this particular snowflake looked like it had been frozen twice, giving an illusion of some sort of rare crystal. He was mesmerised by it, this being the first time he had ever seen snow since he left his village behind him.
"Come on, Shinah. You don't want to be left behind," Yun called out from way in front.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
After one too many detours the sun was going to set a lot sooner than Yun and the others had hoped, along with the clouds being directly overhead, meaning heavier snowfall at a later hour. They were really starting to feel the cold now.
Everyone's hair had started freezing over, except for Shinah of course, giving them a constant sensation of brain freeze whilst their other joints slowly froze too. "I-It's so c-cold, I can barely m-move," (Y/N) spoke with chattering teeth.
"If you had l-listened to me before, then we'd be there s-sooner. Now come on, the c-cave is just up ahead." The small footsteps they each took made the small distance feel like an hour, even though it was really what Yun had said; it was just up ahead.
They all entered the hollow cavern, Hak wasting no time in setting up the stray wood he had collected to start up a fire. The fire emanated a golden glow, almost as beautiful as the freezing winter just outside, providing a great sense of warmth and comfort as the eight of them all huddled together for a good while.
"I hope you've all learnt your lesson after this, especially you (Y/N)."
(Y/N) sighed. "Yes Yun, I have." At that moment, she looked outside, and there she was trapped, hypnotised by what she saw. It was as though the fire that she sat in front of, had been robbed of its beauty by the wintery world outside; the most beautiful sunset she had ever seen.
"Wow," she breathed, her mouth gaping wide open. Everyone else looked outside, their reactions identical to that of (Y/N)'s first. The heavy snowfall had begun to slow down once more, looking like tiny crystals being dropped by deities of the heavens.
"Don't even think about it," Yun warned.
"... But I can't help it-"
"Don't even think about it." Yun stood up from his seating position to grab his supplies for starting their meal. When he turned around, (Y/N) vanished.
"Well, she thought about it alright," Hak stated the obvious as they watched (Y/N) play like a child.
"Unbelievable..."
"Actually, I think it's very believable-"
"Kija, stop talking."
Shinah silently stood up from his place next to the princess, and slowly walked outside towards where (Y/N) was exploring. She got excited when she saw that someone else had joined her.
"Shinah! Isn't this amazing?" (Y/N) twirled around, bathing in the fiery rays of sun as she kicked up the piles of snow. Suddenly, she felt him grab her hand, causing her to blush a little. Shinah started pulling (Y/N) out of the snow, and back towards the cave.
"Come back... You'll get sick," he said in his usual monotone voice. (Y/N) quickly snatched her hand away, wanting to embrace this time for as long as it could last.
"No, I promise that I won't. Isn't this fun?"
"But your hair is wet..."
"It's fine, Shinah. I promise!" (Y/N) grinned widely when Shinah gave up on trying to get her out of the cold. He watched her bounce from place to place, doing all kinds of things. They ventured out a little further than Yun would have been okay for them to, and found a wide field with hardly any trees. It was white everywhere, like a cloud resting on the earth before it continued its journey again.
(Y/N) let herself fall backwards into the mass of fluff, laughing to herself as she started making the biggest snow angel she could. Shinah stood there, questioning what on earth (Y/N) was trying to do.
"Come on Shinah, try it!" (Y/N) Stood up from the ground, snow covering her entire back, and looked at her work proudly. Shinah, who was standing directly to her left, fell backwards out of the blue. (Y/N) worried for a split second, but giggled when she saw Shinah trying to do the same thing as her.
His arms and legs were stiff, barely moving. (Y/N) lay beside him so she could properly demonstrate how to make a snow angle. "Am I... doing it right?" The two of them stood up to look at Shinah's creation, and it looked more like a bird than an angel.
"It's beautiful, Shinah," (Y/N) said as she giggled at the funny shape. Before the blue dragon could say anything, (Y/N) had already dashed to another area of the field where the snow was piled up the highest. Shinah looked at her and thought she was making another snowball, but this was too big to be a snowball anymore.
He walked over to her as she started walking in circles, now pushing around a fairly large ball of snow. Not sure what she was doing, yet again, Shinah started pushing the ball around with (Y/N), and it quickly doubled in size.
"Great! Let's make another one!" They both quickly got to work on making a second giant snowball, but this one being smaller than the first one.
"...What are we doing?"
"Making a snowman, of course."
"A man... of snow?"
"You could say that. Now help me put this one on top of that one," (Y/N) instructed. The two of them lifted up the current ball of snow and placed it on top of the first one they made together. (Y/N) scavenged around for sticks and small rocks of the sort, and started making the snowman what it was meant to look like.
Shinah helped, adding in his own touch by giving the man clothes, as he thought that every man should be clothed appropriately. When (Y/N) said that they had finished, Shinah was still having trouble in trying to see how this... thing of snow, was meant to represent a human. Even Ao couldn't figure out what it was, who had been observing from Shinah's shoulder the entire time.
As the sky started to get darker with the sun disappearing behind the horizon, (Y/N) sighed, knowing it was time to head back. "Yun has probably finished making dinner. We should go back now."
As the two of them started walking back, (Y/N) began to shiver as she had been earlier on in the day, but strangely it was nowhere near as cold as it was then. Shinah looked at how cold she was, and jumped a little when she started to cough and sneeze countless times.
The blue dragon knew that (Y/N) didn't keep her promise, and that the cold had finally gotten to her. He grabbed her hand, and gently pulled her along so they could get to the warm cave sooner. (Y/N) moaned in annoyance, knowing that Yun was going to scold her like the mother he was.
They quickly reached the cave, and Shinah sat (Y/N) down by the fire instantly.
"I know I shouldn't say I told you so, but I am going to anyway. I told you so," was the first thing Yun said when both Shinah and (Y/N) came back into the cave. "Have you finally learnt your lesson-"
"Y-Yep," (Y/N) quickly chattered out, before she started coughing once more.
"Wow, you really got yourself sick didn't you? You're shivering harder than White Snake was today."
"You really have no respect for me, do you!?" Hak and Kija quickly started their usual bickering, whilst Yona was watching Yun cook, and Jeaha and Zeno sat quietly as they observed.
Meanwhile, Shinah removed his fluffy garment he always wore, and put it around (Y/N)'s shivering corpse. He then got Ao from his shoulder, and put him next to (Y/N), so she had someone to snuggle with.
"T-Thank you, S-Shinah..."
"It's okay," he responded. Shinah shifted his position, moving (Y/N) with him, so they were both leaning against the wall. He put his arms around (Y/N)'s shoulders and held her close to his chest. "Get some rest..."
(Y/N) couldn't help but feel her eyes gettingheavier by the second as Shinah continued to rub her arms to warm her up asmuch as he was able. The warmth of not only the fire, but Shinah's kindness, lulledher to her own dreamland where she and Shinah were still outside, togetherforever more.

Fanfiction asks: 17?
I have a lot of these. For some of them I need more time to figure out something in and others I kind of embarassed even to write). I think, fandom I have more unwritten ideas for is serial “Merlin” by BBC. Partly because some of these are practically begging to be changed into original works, partly – because it was plenty of time ago, and I need to rewatch it.“AkaYona” has plenty of such ideas too. Let’s see:
1) Modern AU meant as a prize in my RP group, but my plot turned out to be somewhat different from the prompt. Prompt was simple: modern AU, everyone is just the same, just Su-Won didn’t kill Il, but Yona still ends up with Hak with huge focus on the pairing. And what I made of it was an idea, where Yona tries to confess to Su-Won, but never manage, doumbfonded by clueless him suggesting her to date Hak.I think, I should make a separate post with silly dialogue I like.2) “Normal girl”. A story of my OC from the Hakuryuu village. My very first AkaYona idea. Once, reading the manga I was like: “Poor Kija. He would make such a good dad and husband! Yet these dumb village girls choose to "attack” him, instead of befriend him first or at least to ask him out properly. How come there is no normal girls?“. But the second I stated, that there should be a normal girl to love Kija, I imagined all misfortunes and silly events she would endure trying to get closer to him. And thats basically few one-shot ideas about their childhood and present times. Her going on a missions, spying on Kija, dealing with her brother and uncle, who are chemists (get it?). It’s pretty much an unreqited love-store with huge amount of comedy.3) Another accident is a story I made up while making a pic for my friend. It was an AU pic of legetimate DW Garou. She proceded asking questions about the verse, and before I know, the crime was commited. Plot is also simple: previous gen are all alive by the time of beginning, and current gen are still kids (ages are changed for the sake of the story). And everything happens a couple of years early. Yona is 14, Su-Won is not that desperate with the coup yet. And Hak overhearing Il statement about Yona being Hiryuu’s incarnation. Out of something he can’t quite describe, he wants Yona to meet Garou (who was run away from his village a long time ago, taking baby Jae with him), who is visiting Fuuga often for food propouses. He covers it as just a visit. Yona is happy to try and convince her father to let her have a trip, Su-Won is hoping to drag his uncle out somehow, so he also helps. Little did he knows, not all of his allies are ok with any bloodless solution for the royal family. So they end up on a run with addition of pretty genious boy and two sets of rare beasts joining. And Zeno is very, very confused, because of why there are so many baby brothers for him. This has a lot of plotholes yet and comes off as naive piece, but my friend is demanding it from me, so I have no choice but to try.4) Whole range of crackfic ideas I’m ashamed of.
Like four dragons, instead of being Hiryuu’s brother figures as females interested in him. But Hiryuu didn’t want this harem, so he took a perfect opportunity to save humans along with himself and married a mortal woman.
Or Kaya getting pregnant and so refuses Ouryuu’s offer to prolong her life, that’s her child can live on, since Oryuu was limited in powers and couldn’t possible handle both. So the child was raised as a spiritual being and awaits for Oryuu reincarnation, who would be able to give them a human form. Idea turned out to be pretty tricky, since all the fun is in OC interacting outer world and another characters. But no matter, what kind of communication I chose it seemed to be too cracky even for me. Solution was to give them an animal form (I could give Zeno a pet, or even to use Ao), or ability would be able to invide people’ s dreams (unbelivable amount of characters to drive crazy!), or just focus on interacting with ghosts and gods. But I was so convinced, that either of this is too extra, I didn’t proceed, settling only with couple of art ideas.Other crackish ideas, as pukyuu being god’s representant or Oryuu incarnation. Or something like Hak learning squirrels language by accident. Or just pukyuu’s pov. I think I don’t need to explain why this is unwritten…)I want to write a lot of akayona fics. First gen, rare characters, humor and stuff is my jam, but I guess I don’t have good ideas for any of these topics. Not to mention Su-Won, genrals and so on.
So basically nothing too special I have to show off.

First Night Back in Fuuga Ch 41: Yearning for You
Ao3 Link to Chapter 41
Summary: Yona and Hak haven’t been intimate since their major disagreement and it’s driving them both crazy; Lili and Tae-Woo have begun their journey
“Shhh. She’s still asleep.”
“Says he who snored all night,” retorts Jae-Ha to Kija who's in bedding on the floor next to him.
BAM! A pillow hits Jae-Ha’s face.
“Yun, is that really your first inclination every morning?”
Yun sits up with groggy eyes and a scowl for Jae-Ha. “Only toward the person who wakes me up. It’s always you.” Yun sighs as he glances longingly at Zeno who's still blissfully asleep.
Yona's curled up in a ball on her bed, eyes still closed but with a little smile on her face. For the past few days, this has been her favorite sound in the world -- her Happy Hungry Bunch’s bantering in the morning.
Since the night Hak found out about Soo-Won being alive, he’s had them stationed in their room at night. Gods forbid it -- if there's a coordinated attack, they’ll have the best chance of protecting Yona if they’re all together.
Yona loves their lively company and has always hoped they’d get to do some “sleepovers” in her palace bedroom. But…
She stares at the empty indent in the sheets next to her. Hak. He’s been relentless working with the Sky Tribe warriors since that night. Up every morning before dawn. To bed long after everyone’s already been down for the night.
Yona splays her hand out over the space where he should be. The emptiness of the air is a cold shock to her heart. It really, really helps that he at least sleeps next to her each night. But she still misses him. Their privacy. His touch.
Their latest conversation about Soo-Won under the great oak didn’t exactly end on a romantic note. And after they sent Lili and Tae-Woo off with Shin-Ah as their guide, Yona’s fears only heightened about how tense and possibly upset with her Hak must be feeling.
She’s been too afraid to talk to him about it all. But until she does, she knows she won’t be able to calm down.
Yona hears the pillow fight escalating in the background. Thank goodness those guys are here.
Yona sits up and turns toward her company. “Good morning.”
The guys all stop mid-motion and beam up at her. Kija apologetic. Zeno with a wild smile. Yun exasperated. And Jae-Ha… with that sweet, supportive look he has when he can see right through her.
“How are you feeling, Dear?” Jae-Ha asks with sincere concern. “You know -- if… your pregnancy is making you uncomfortable, I’m happy to get you anything that could help.”
They both know what he’s really talking about. Who, rather. Yona also knows Hak is pissed at Jae-Ha at the moment, so she’s not about to go asking for any favors…
“I’m flattered you leave her in our care, but this is bordering on abandonment.”
Hak lowers the meat skewer Jae-ha brought to the training grounds, “Is this your idea of good breakfast conversation or did you seriously just bait me with food so you can sit there and pester me?”
Jae-Ha shrugs. “It worked, didn’t it?”
Hak sighs and bites off a chunk of meat. With the mouthful, “Don’t push it. My hand’s been slipping today.”
Totally unphased, “She’s started to show a little. Did you get to see?”
“I noticed. Not that it’s your business. I’m concerned how you saw, though.”
Jae-Ha rolls his eyes. Yona didn’t have to pull up her gown for him to see. He notices everything about her. And it’s driving him mad that Hak is being so cavalier about all of this.
Hak swallows and reaches for his cup, suppressing his true emotions at every turn. Jae-Ha has no idea what kind of turbulence he's feeling right now. How he hates that he couldn’t just support the princess. That he argued with her. Hurt her. Is afraid to touch her… because she hasn’t touched him. How he constantly wonders if they’re even OK.
Abandonment? She is the center of his every thought every second of every day. When he comes into their bed at night, it’s always when she’s already asleep because he’s afraid to appear before her when they’re awake. Like his very presence could upset her. But no matter how long a day has been, he has trouble falling asleep. He longs to touch her.
He stares at her. Cherishes every inch. Most of all, her rising chest and swelling belly. Her bump is only slight, but he’s noticed alright. Just last night he reached his hand out just an inch from it, dying to feel her warmth and fullness there. But he held himself back. Like he will continue to until he knows she wants him like that.
It’s been days since they’ve made love. They’ve gone this long before… but never with something this unresolved between them. His need for her has gotten so strong he’s become irrationally irritable on the training grounds and has been surprising himself with his bursts of anger. What a lover’s touch can do to calm a man’s body, his spirit, is incomparable...
“Your Highness.”
Both Hak and Jae-Ha look up at one of the palace servants who’s just arrived.
“I apologize for my interruption. I know you’re very busy training. However, a couple lords from the Water Tribe just arrived and brought a gift.”
Hak just stares at the young boy. He hates this stuff. And he’s so tense he doubts he can even try to be civil.
Always able to read a room, Jae-Ha goes in for the save, “Is this something I could handle in his stead? His Majesty,” a moniker which he can’t help but smile about as he rattles off, “is, as you said, quite busy.”
The servant boy blushes at this complication. “Um… well, you see, the gift may not be something he wishes to share.”
Hak accidentally snaps his wooden skewer in half. Jae-Ha notes that his friend is in a state that could use some relief. Maybe he needs a break after all...
The servant boy is shaking, but doesn’t give up. “Please come and see. The lords are certain His Majesty will be pleased.”
Lili rubs her eyes and yawns as she finally wakes up. Ugh, her body aches like hell. They rode and trained so long yesterday she thought she’d die.
She apprehensively opens her eyes to see -- Shin-Ah, quietly sitting there scratching Ao’s belly and staring at her. Lili is surprised to feel relief at this odd sight. What’s more awkward: waking up to Shin-Ah or Tae-Woo? Apparently, even the mask doesn’t put Shin-Ah over the edge on that one.
Lili heads out of the tent to find Tae-Woo so they can start their day. They’ve been traveling horseback on a road along the edge of a forest. She guesses he probably went into the woods to catch breakfast. She starts along a path that goes in between the trees.
Fuck, this hurts! Lili tries to get her mind off her body. She focuses on positive thoughts. Like that she’s pretty proud of herself for surviving this far. And she’s been getting along with Tae-Woo pretty well without feeling weird about it. Sure, as a precaution she’s been comfortable keeping their conversations sorta wooden and impersonal, but she’s thinking she can probably be real with him now and possibly even have an actual friendship.
Ever since she pieced together Tae-Woo is always with Han-Dae -- like, always -- and realized that maybe Tae-Woo’s fixation isn’t on a girl at all, she’s found some ease around him. Yes, there’s still this weird sadness that's lingered ever since she figured that out. Disappointment. But that's ridiculous. What is there to be disappointed about? Nothing ever happened. Nor was it gonna. It’s not like he ever made a move on her.
She’s just a girl at a marriable age -- confusing physical and emotional feelings are only natural.
Lili hears something in the distance. Must be him!
Tae-Woo bursts up through the surface of the cold water and flicks his hair back before swimming to a shallower area of the small lake.
Washing off feels great. He’d woken up extra early in the morning to do some hardcore training. That’s what Hak would’ve done. Being out on the road like this, you’ve got to be in shape for a threat at any time.
Later in the day he’ll continue some basic training with Lady Lili. She said that’s what Yona would’ve done -- kept training even on the journey. Not that they have much choice anyway. They only have until coronation to get this right.
At least they have horses and can take main roads most of the way. Yona and Hak definitely didn’t have that luxury.
Speaking of, Yona and Hak must’ve had to sleep in the same tent sometimes, too. Wonder how Hak did that… ‘cause when Lady Lili sleeps, sometimes she turns and is pressed right up against him and-
Tae-Woo cuts his train of thought off, as he often has done since starting training with Lady Lili. He’s afraid of where his thoughts might go if he doesn’t keep check on them. Any guy alone with a girl, having to touch each other everyday, sleep next to each other at night -- any guy could end up seriously confused in a situation like this. But he’s seen her with Jae-Ha enough times. He knows, with this girl, he’s not allowed to get confused.
“Tae-W-”
Tae-Woo flips around in the water to see Lili pop out of the trees onto the lake bank.
Why are her eyes so wide…?
OH! Tae-Woo looks down -- his torso is exposed all the way down to the top of his pelvic V. She can’t see that, but she can see a whole lot.
Lili simultaneously realizes she’s in no way averting her eyes, so she throws a hand up over her face.
Pound. Pound. Pound. Her heart has forgotten nothing.
Oh no… as feared, Tae-Woo’s similarities with Hak do not end at hair color and attitude.
Lili feels a tingling in her core inspired by the visual she can’t get out of her head. Those. Abs. Whether this guy is into guys or not, so much for her keeping her composure from here on out.
Tae-Woo quickly moves into deeper water while noting Lady Lili looks mortified with that hand over her face. Oh crap, she’s gonna tell Jae-Ha who’s gonna tell Hak who’s gonna… damn it, I've already accidentally crossed the line.
“He’s just been getting so much attention,” Yona confides.
Mundok smiles down at Yona as only someone recognizing a familiar phase in life can. They’re sitting together on Hak’s favorite bench. And Hak is the only topic that the princess has been interested in talking about today.
“That's true, I heard about the tournament they’d like him to fight in to get the citizens excited,” Mundok affirms.
“It’s not even just the big things like that for Kouka. You wouldn’t believe how many people have already asked to sit and break bread with him.”
“If they were smart, they’d all be asking for time with you.”
Yona glows at that suggestion from someone she respects so much, “Everyone is used to how things were before this, right? I think it’ll be some time before they fully embrace Hak and I’s unique arrangement here. In any event, I have my fair share of requests, too. I’m just… used to Hak being there with me.”
“I think he’d like to be.”
Yona looks up at the elder with hope, “Really?”
Mundok wants to laugh, but he keeps serious. He remembers being young and insecure. It’s no laughing matter when you’re living it.
“You know why your father loved Hak? Because he could trust him to be honest no matter what. The boy might even be incapable of lying. And he would never lie to you. I have a feeling you two would do well to have a nice long talk about all this.”
Yona nervously curls her fingers into the fabric of her gown, “I know.”
“I haven’t seen you head anywhere this fast in a week.”
Yona stops her rush toward the training grounds to see Jae-Ha up on the edge of a red roof.
“Oh, it’s good you’re here! If Hak saw me without a bodyguard I’d never hear the end of it.”
“My pleasure,” Jae-Ha deftly lands at her side and continues down the path, “though I do have a favor to ask."
“Sure,” Yona offers.
“Please don’t hate me.”
Yona stops and turns to look at him, “...you did something?”
Jae-Ha cringes a little bit, “It wasn’t premeditated at all. The situation… was not the best. I was making light of a bad, bad-”
“You can just tell me, Jae-Ha.”
With a deep breath, “Some Water Tribe nobles brought Hak a rather forward gift in the form of royal concubines.”
Yona lifts a hand to her mouth, her eyes nearly popping out of her head, as her body fills with fear and rage.
Jae-Ha quickly clarifies, “Don’t worry, Dear, you should have seen it. Hak would have nothing to do with them and -- well, as politely as he could, which was not very polite at all -- he rejected the ‘gift.’”
With her emotions on high from the pregnancy, Yona feels a thousand different things. She wants to cry. She wants to kill a couple Water Tribe nobles. She wants to vomit. She wants to stop hyperventilating.
“Breathe in, breathe out,” Jae-Ha encourages. “Nothing happened, other than the Water Tribe nobles were upset and I offered that perhaps the ladies could stay and maybe others at the palace could enjoy their company. I love spending time with beautiful women. ...and I may have joked that even Lili could enjoy it.”
Yona’s mouth drops. “So Hak asked what you meant.”
“He wouldn’t let it go,” Jae-Ha apologizes. “She’s off with Tae-Woo right now so he’s… sensitive on the topic.”
“And you told him what happened?” Yona closes her eyes in dread.
“In private, I explained where I’d gotten that idea… yes.”
“Is he mad?”
“At me? Absolutely. At you? Dear, he seems… very pent up right now. I know you two had a disagreement and are giving one another space, but I don’t think that’s working out so well. For either of you. Please go put him out of his misery.”
Yona looks at her green dragon with worry, “But I can’t bring Tae-Woo back. I can’t undo the misunderstanding with Lili. How?”
“Easy, Dear. Kiss him.”
SWOOSH! Hak swings his glaive at a Sky soldier, but his mind is off somewhere in a fog.
So something like that happened to the princess and she wasn’t comfortable telling him about it? What must she think of him?
And there’s no way he can let her find out about the “gift” today from someone else before he tells her. She’ll definitely worry, especially with how things have been lately. He cannot let her feel that. Not when she has absolutely nothing to ever worry about when it comes to that. And she never has.
Hak nearly hits the guy he’s fighting. He stops in his tracks.
Damn it. He’s gotta go get his head straight before someone gets hurt. This is it. He’s got to talk to her.
Hak is taking his gear off in the room where the Sky warriors change their clothes when he hears the door lock behind him.
He minds where his glaive is placed before turning to see-
“Princess.”
Yona stands before the doorway in a cloak, her face concerned but hopeful.
She doesn’t say a word as she strides over to him and he can’t help but start toward her.
She grabs his face and pulls his lips down to hers with a passion he returns in full.
All their worldly worries seem to evaporate in the moment.
Yona pulls away and takes a step back. Her fingers fly to the tie at the front of her cloak. It falls. She has nothing else on.
Hak feels himself hardening at the sight. His heart is pounding, his breathing intensifying.
Yona lowers her fingers to herself and then lifts them. They're glistening. She's so wet.
"Hak, I hope you don't mind. I really, really need you right now."
And even though there's so much he wants to say, Hak has always been best at expressing himself physically.

Yona ch.137 spoilers
Akatsuki no Yona chapter 137 “To our allies” summary with pics
Please don’t repost/reuse my scans and translations without permission. Tumblr reblog is fine.
Do not use the raws or translations for scanlations and don’t upload them on other websites. If you need watermark-less images to make graphics, send me an ask (not on anon) and I’ll give you a link - you can only request 3 images per chapter.

The Wind tribe soldiers are observing Shin. They’ve noticed their army is gathering near the border: war will probably start soon. Han-Dae asks Tae-Woo if they’re going to obey Soo-Won’s orders. The general replies their tribe lives right next to Shin’s territory, so it’s a given they were called to fight. They must be ready for when the Sky tribe comes, that’s when the fighting will begin.
Han-Dae isn’t really happy about the war. Saki doesn’t understand why: didn’t he choose to go to Sei and fight the last time? Han-Dae says it’s because he had heard about Lili being captured (the rumor said she was weak, but he quickly changed his mind when he saw her ^^;). They both agree wars won by hurting people are difficult to come to terms with.

Back to Yona’s group. Ogi says he sent a messenger to the Wind tribe and that he should reach them in half a day. He asks Hak if “avoid battle” was really the message he wanted to convey. Hak says their priority is to buy time, even if Shin might start attacking in the meantime. Voldo suggests they hurry to the border as well.
Min-Soo rushes in and tells them about what he overheard: the Sky tribe will head for Shin in 3 days, and they have about 20000 men. Everyone is worried, the war will break out earlier than they expected.
Yona tells Hak to go to the Wind tribe first. She will try to slow down Soo-Won’s army. She plans to talk to a certain ally of theirs... Hak doesn’t want to let her go without him. Ogi offers to send a messenger instead, but Yona says she wants to meet that person herself, even if it might be difficult. Min-Soo is willing to accompany her.

Again, Hak says he won’t let her go alone. Argila will go with her, then. Yona tells Hak to go. The Wind tribe is waiting for him. She doesn’t want to have any regret, so she’ll do what she can on her own. She’s confident buying time and waiting for the right opportunity will allow them to find a way to end things peacefully between Kouka and Shin. Then they’ll all be able to go to the dragons, Yoon and Ao.
Hak says he understands and he’ll be waiting.

Yona realizes what she’s done, hides her face with her coat and leaves with Argila and Min-Soo. Hak is still stunned.
Hak: ...What was that?!
Voldo: She already left.
Hak: Hey, wait.
Voldo: I told you, she left.
Hak: Nononononononono it’s weird it’s weird it’s weird pukkyuu!
Ogi casually remarks things have turned pretty bittersweet in here. He’s having fun (and put Yona’s kanzashi in his hair :D).
Hak is upset. He can’t let himself be caught unawares by everything the princess does, but for her to do such a thing just like that... can’t she give him a break?
In the carriage Ogi lent them, Yona’s buried her face in her arms, blushing furiously. When Hak told her “I’ll be waiting” with his worried look, she felt she didn’t want to part with him. She talks to herself in her head: “Yona, there are things you should and should not do, you know?” “What are you trying to do, Yona?”... She has to forget and put it out of her mind. She must focus.
Han-Dae has read Ogi’s message. He wonders if it’s really from Hak. Tae-Woo recognizes Hak’s handwriting. The soldiers are confused: should they obey Soo-Won’s command to wait for the Sky tribe and fight with them, or listen to their former general? They turn to Tae-Woo for answers.
Tae-Woo reminds them they’re all from the Wind tribe, and from Fuuga. Kids from Fuuga have had something etched in their souls since very young. No matter how great the Heavens are, no matter how admirable the king is, there’s only one person standing at the top of the Wind tribe.

Tae-Woo heads to Shin army’s camp with his small group. Meanwhile, he tells his soldiers to have fun, they’re not going to fight. Han-Dae is worried: their leader told them not to fight, but is it really alright to go to Shin like that?
Apparently there was a 2nd page to Hak’s letter. It said to get along well with people from Shin. Problem: soldiers from Shin aren’t friendly at all! Han-Dae wants to give them some wine, but gets almost shot with an arrow.

Tae-Jun is in the castle’s courtyard, all muddy. Kyo-Ga scolds him for playing in the mud at his age. Tae-Jun says he’s been harvesting iza crops in a nearby village. Kyo-Ga is still angry: what good will it do him to learn agriculture? He’s his assistant now, can’t he see how much effort Kyo-Ga put into learning various things, obeying Soo-Won and trying to rebuild the Fire tribe?
Huk-Chi arrives and tells Tae-Jun he has guests waiting for him. Tae-Jun runs away from his brother and later thanks Huk-Chi for coming up with this lie to save him. But his aide tells him he really have guests, and they’re envoys from Hiryuu castle. Tae-Jun freaks out: did he do something to anger the king?
The first person he sees is Argila, a scary-looking guy who looks like he’s a seasoned warrior. Then 2 hooded figures... Min-Soo asks Huk-Chi to leave the room. Tae-Jun loses it: they’re here to kill him, right? Oh no, he has been traumatized by mean-looking warriors in the past! And he feels like he’s become a better person lately, but that doesn’t prevent him from still doing bad-ish things from time to time!
Voice: Tae-Jun...

Hisa’s thoughts on the chapter:
Well well, it was high time we saw Yona pulling strings to achieve what she wants without relying on the dragons. Not only has she decided to use her influence to stop the war, she’s also “decided” to move forward on a more personal level (although her kiss with Hak was more of a spur-of-the-moment thing).
There are several things to discuss in this chapter, so I’ll just address the topics as they appeared.
1) Soo-Won. He’s still proceeding with his war plans, as he told Yona in the previous chapter. However, there might be something suspicious in the place he’s chosen to discuss this topic with Kye-Sook. It's an open room with no doors, and looks like a storage area. Obviously that’s where Min-Soo was headed, as he was pictured carrying books. No doors means Soo-Won didn’t care about being overheard and his war plans aren’t a big secret, or he purposefully brought Kye-Sook here knowing Min-Soo would be around to hear them. Was it his intention to have Min-Soo report back to Yona all along?
2) Min-Soo. What are you doing, Min-Soo? I can’t understand you. Rather, I don’t like this sort of redemption arc so late in the game. Kusanagi dumped his backstory on us last chapter, explaining why he was loyal to Soo-Won while still inclined to help Yona. Why is it now okay to defy SW’s orders even though he couldn’t a few months (?) ago when the king saved his life? Did something happen to his mother, has he found other powerful allies, or does he just not care anymore? I’m confused -_-; He’s like a convenient newfound ally that I want to trust but can’t.
3) Hak and the kiss. Yona asks Hak to go to the Wind tribe. I don’t really see what he can achieve over there that he couldn’t do via Ogi’s messengers. They know Soo-Won will arrive in 3 days, it feels like he only goes there to confront him and take the blame all on himself for the Wind tribe’s treason (which might be an admirable thing, but what can he hope to do against 20000 soldiers?). That’s where the kiss comes in. As I said when I first read the chapter, to me it was a non-event. Not because it doesn’t mean anything for Yona and Hak, but because the chapter has been constructed such as to place that kiss in the middle of the chapter, and not at the end like you’d expect for a meaningful, heartwarming confession. Just as Hak said, he mustn’t let himself be overwhelmed by what the princess does. That kiss might’ve been a pleasant surprise, but Hak didn’t even question it (like, does it mean she likes me? was it just a parting kiss? etc). It wasn’t romantic, and there were onlookers. Hak and Yona didn’t really get to enjoy it - it’s not the usual “I love you” shoujo kiss. Which brings me to point 4).
4) The Wind tribe. What the hell was that about Hak being their god and standing at the top of everything? Sure he’s powerful and played with the kids and probably attracted their loyalty, but... how blind and lovestruck can they be with Hak? From what we know, when Hak was young Mundok was the true leader of the Wind tribe, and Hak was the nice big brother everyone could annoy and train with even if he was reluctant, and he didn’t like going to the castle to perform his duties (partly because of Yona). He became their general at a young age, yet it was during King Il’s reign: during his time as a general, did he get to lead soldiers to battle or make strategies or anything that would justify being elevated to god-like status among the Wind tribe? Is Mundok such a doting grandfather that he’d let everyone worship Hak like it’s no big deal?
I fear this kind of buildup is a bad omen for what’s to come. The goodbye kiss + the Wind tribe saying they’ll blindly follow Hak to the ends of the Earth? This definitely smells like a bad-things-ahead/death flag. Only I don’t expect Hak will die, but I suspect something might happen to Tae-Woo or Han-Dae. Idk, the kiss upset me, and maybe that’s why I’m seeing bad vibes in the Wind tribe’s loyalty.
5) Tae-Jun. He’s back! And somehow he made up with his brother, seeing as he is his assistant/lieutenant now. I can’t wait to see how he’ll react to what Yona tells him. I was expecting Kyo-Ga to still be studying at Hiryuu castle, because he clearly will be an obstacle to defying Soo-Won’s orders. Maybe that’s where Min-Soo will come in handy, if he can lie and say he’s here as the king’s representative.
Next chapter will be titled disturbance/perturbation. I’m hoping we’ll get to see a bit of Kouren’s side of the story, but it will likely be the continuation of Yona’s talk with Tae-Jun and the confrontation between Soo-Won and the Wind tribe.

Next One Shot Preview
For those that are following my fanfics on Archive of Our Own, Fanfiction.net or DeviantArt, here’s a preview of the current one shot in the works that takes place before ‘When a Dragon is Born’ but after ‘The Secret’s Out’
Yona blinked for a moment, then smiled. “You mean return to Fuuga? Then we can see everyone of the Wind Clan again.”
“That’s where you grew up wasn’t it Hak?” Jae-ha asked with a grin, rubbing his chin. “I do recall you saying there were lovely ladies there…” and that’s when both Hak’s glaive and Kija’s claws were drawn right in front of his face. “…. Seriously guys?” the Green Dragon sweatdropped.
“A married man shouldn’t be talking about going to a village just to gawk at females…” Hak growled. “I warned you before if you EVER think about cheating on the princess I’ll….”
“A DRAGON THAT CANNOT HONOR HIS VOWS TO HIS MASTER SHOULD DIE A THOUSAND DEATHS!” Kija hissed, basically finishing for the Thunder Beast.
Jae-ha held up his hands defensively. “Oh come on you two! All I said was-“
“Was how much you want to see what Hak was talking about? Well if looking is all that you mean to do, then I suppose it’s not too bad, husband.” Yona huffed, walking ahead of them with a displeased pout, her jealousy showing.
‘Aw damn now I’m screwed… She usually freezes up when calling me her husband, except when she's mad at me…’ Jae-ha groaned that Hak and Kija just had to blow his comment out of context and get his wife’s jealousy going, which was especially easy these days due to her pregnancy causing mood swings. He quickly jumped to dodge the two men threatening him to land in front of the redhead, smiling at her. “Now Yona darling, we’ve had this conversation before. I just appreciate beauty that’s all, after all no one can compare to you my love.” He took her hand and brought it up to his lips where he placed a kiss.
Yona blushed and looked away. “J-Jae-ha not here everyone’s watching and…” She stammered, ever since their secret came out the Green Dragon wasted no time showing his affection in public, and since the princess was still very shy it always embarrassed her.
“Let them, after all I have to make it clear I’m honoring my vows don’t I?” Jae-ha chuckled, catching a look at Kija who huffed at him taking those words a different way. The Ryokuryuu leaned in and kissed his wife briefly, brushing his fingers on her chin.
“Pukkyyuu!” Ao cried on Shin-ah’s shoulder, as if cheering for them.
Yoon, Kija and Hak all looked away as the couple kissed, Zeno just smiled and watched while Shin-ah just smiled and pet his squirrel.
“Ugh I’d say get a room but obviously they already have.” Yoon grumbled.
Jae-ha then moved his hand to feel Yona’s cheek and that’s when he paused during the kiss. He quickly broke the kiss and placed his forehead against hers. “… Yoon, you better get over here now. She has a fever.”

First Night Back in Fuuga Ch 38: The Generals Meeting
A03 link to Chapter 38
Summary: Yona has some convincing to do
“Princess… are you pregnant?”
Yona’s heart begins to race.
She and Min-Soo are standing outside the great room for the Generals Meeting -- she was just about to go in before Min-Soo caught up with urgent news. He was able to decipher the code on the parchment Yona’d given him this morning. It’s just… he doesn’t understand it.
“It said that?” Yona tries to keep steady.
Min-Soo watches her face continue to pale as he nods. They leave the truth left unsaid between them, but it’s understood.
“Anything else?”
Min-Soo shifts in discomfort, not wanting to answer.
“Would you rather tell Hak?”
Min-Soo’s face flashes fear, “Princess… the message asked for the next move. About the pregnancy.”
“Hhh…,” Yona can’t help it as a single tear slides down her cheek. About the baby… she feels wildly protective. And beyond vulnerable.
To see this and now understand the threat of that message, Min-Soo’s heart aches. It couldn’t be…?
Yona’s voice is almost a whisper, “Let me... tell Hak.”
Joo-Doh. Geun-Tae. Tae-Woo. Kyo-Ga.
Kouka’s remaining four generals sit around the table in anticipation of Princess Yona’s arrival.
Hak sits slightly off to the side with Mundok. Today he’s still tribeless wanderer Hak, technically not anything more than the last royal of this kingdom’s lover. Even their marriage has yet to be officially recognized.
Jae-Ha and Shin-Ah sit slightly off to the opposite side, by Yona’s invitation, with a very nervous Lily next to Jae-Ha.
The green dragon whispers, “Isn’t your dream guy in here?”
“Shhhh!” Lili is mortified.
Jae-Ha smiles, looking forward, “Just picture him with nothing on. It does wonders for nerves.”
Lili’s face is bright red now -- she growls, “I’ve never seen a man with his clothes off so I’d have no idea what to picture…”
Jae-Ha glances down in fascination, “Really?”
“Shhhh!”
THUD. The great door opens and there she is -- Princess Yona. A small figure confidently moving forward. Thanks to Yun, she looks every inch the radiant royal figure she is -- you’d have no idea what her morning activities had included.
Everyone in the room rises and watches in wonder. She smiles at them in a way that sets hearts at ease, then takes her seat. They all follow suit.
There’s no chair next to Yona at the head of the table and she feels that missing piece like a vast empty chasm. She wants Hak at her side. To the point it’s distracting.
So Yona glances over at the Thunder Beast. When he smiles encouragingly back at her as though they were the only ones in that room, she lets out a great breath of relief and her heart slows down. As always, even if he’s not beside her, that boy’s always got her back.
Yona turns her attention to the room, “Thank you for your journeys. I’m grateful we’ve all come to this moment, though with regret for the losses that brought us here. My heart goes out to the Water Tribe for our loss of General Joon-Gi,” Yona gives a heartfelt look toward Lili, “and to Kouka for yet another sudden transition of leadership at the highest level. I am here today because of my royal blood. As the last blood royal in my family’s line, I understand it is my duty now to accept or decline the throne.”
“The law is written as she says,” Kyo-Ga confirms.
Joo-Doh nods acceptance.
“From my journeys across each tribe’s lands this past year, I feel more compelled than ever to accept the role of queen. I wish to serve our people more than anything else. And I'm also coming to accept it as my fate.”
“I don’t really…,” Geun-Tae searches for the words, “buy into prophecies.”
“But in this case--” Kyo-Ga begins.
“--but I can’t explain what I saw on the battlefield against Kai either,” Geun-Tae finishes as he nods toward the dragon warriors, “I might believe about anything anymore.”
Joo-Doh nods in agreement, “Generals, does anyone here doubt Princess Yona should be queen?”
“You have the Fire Tribe’s support,” Kyo-Ga offers encouragingly to Yona.
“We’re behind you,” Tae-Woo confirms with a hint of pride as he glances over toward Hak.
“I like what I’ve seen,” Geun-Tae commits as he leans back.
“Then that much is settled,” Joo-Doh establishes as he looks at Princess Yona directly with a promise, “I will serve you without hesitation.”
“Next,” Kyo-Ga begins, “is setting the coronation.”
“No, before that, another piece of business,” Joo-Doh corrects, “Princess Yona has taken a husband.”
“We knew that already…” Tae-Woo is confused.
“When King Il was murdered, it was reported that the princess’ attendant was guilty of both killing the king and kidnapping her. This is the very man who sits behind us and is the proposed new king.”
Tae-Woo scowls at Joo-Doh for being so callous in bringing this up here.
Yona looks toward Hak. There on the side, Mundok has placed a calming hand on his grandson’s shoulder. Hak lets out an “of course” huff of air, but otherwise pretty much keeps his poker face.
Yona wants to scream -- slander hurts terribly when it’s against you, but when it’s of the person most precious to you in the world, it’s unbearable.
“That story was fabricated as a cover up. Hak risked his life to save mine that night… and every day since. To protect me, he gave up his generalship, tribe affiliation, even his family name,” Yona is trying to keep calm, but her speech is quick, “Former Wind General Son Hak is the most loyal, self-sacrificing, and talented warrior I have ever known. Tell me, what can I do to satisfy you so that you can support him as fervently as I do as king at my side?” then, “We’re already married, which should not be overlooked…” And I’m carrying his child! Yona wishes she could reveal as evidence of the depth of her commitment.
“That is… in the history of royals, when marriages of love have come into conflict with political interests,” Joo-Doh begins--
“--You can’t possibly be insinuating--” Tae-Woo rises.
“I’m not. Calm down,” Joo-Doh clarifies, “I’m just explaining why we’re talking about this at all. We need to do this properly. There are tons of missing details.”
“Ask me,” Yona demands.
“Were there witnesses at the wedding?” Joo-Doh asks.
“I was there,” Mundok rises, nodding to Joo-Doh.
“So were we,” Jae-Ha offers, standing alongside Shin-Ah. Ao gives a little squeak.
“Where was my invitation?” Geun-Tae lightens the tense mood.
“It was a little complicated,” Yona calms down with a little laugh, then looks with apology toward Tae-Woo.
“Good,” Joo-Doh brings everyone back to task, “that should be enough to stop any nobles trying to force a different match for their support. But... the support of the people is another matter. We need to know what happened -- if the Thunder Beast didn’t kill King Il… who did?”
Yona stares into empty space. She’s been avoiding this. To tell the truth… will be the truth. However, it will also put Soo-Won’s life at risk if he’s still alive. And on the one hand, yes, justice will be served. Yet… she can’t help but believe there’s still more to this story…
But Hak. If Hak is the one to suffer because she’s protecting Soo-Won, that’s not something she can live with. She can bear any amount of suffering she chooses because of Soo-Won. But she will never ask that of Hak. There is only one way forward now…
“Soo-Won murdered my father. I watched him do it with my own eyes,” Yona takes a breath before continuing, bringing that terrible night back into memory, “He had long plotted the regicide for the night of my sixteenth birthday party. And when I accidentally saw him do it… the Sky Tribe soldiers who’d taken his side tried to kill me, too. If it weren’t for Hak taking on dozens of men on his own to stop them, even fighting Soo-Won that night, I’d be in a grave next to my father right now.”
No one wants to speak. Those who didn’t outright already know had at least wondered. And they all, somewhere deep inside, already knew the truth.
“Were there any witnesses,” finally Joo-Doh gets back to business.
“I was there,” Min-Soo, who entered with Yona, steps forward from the back of the room, “There are wounds on my back as evidence. If you investigate, you’ll find the rate which they have healed lines up perfectly with the night in question.”
Joo-Doh sighs in frustration at the disturbing evidence, “Even this morning… I witnessed Sky Tribe soldiers raise a sword to the princess.”
“What?!” Kyo-Ga turns in shock.
“Yona…” Jae-Ha looks her way in concern.
“There’s no question now -- Soo-Won’s takeover was hostile and some of his people are still here,” Joo-Doh concedes.
“Well then,” Tae-Woo suggests, “instead of questioning Lord Hak’s honor, we should be praising him for saving the princess.”
“That boy,” Geun-Tae shoots a feral smile Hak’s way, “is a good man. And a terrifying warrior. I have no qualms following him as our king.”
“I trust Princess Yona’s judgment,” Kyo-Ga bows his head in full support.
“Then we have one final role to decide on,” Joo-Doh announces.
“Ah, yes,” Yona brightens, “the matter of Water Tribe Chief and General. There’s someone I would like to nominate,” Yona glances over at Lili encouragingly, “Late General Joon-Gi’s daughter An Lili. Please rise, Lili, and join us here at the table.”
The generals all turn in shock, not having expected that. Lili tries to stop the color in her face from rising as she finds her way to the Water Tribe chair. She takes a seat and the second she looks up she realizes she’s directly across from Geun-Tae.
“Lady Lili, I know you’re a very strong young woman from what I saw in Sei. Do you also know how to fight?”
“That--” Yona cuts in before Lili has to give the awkward answer, “--is not why I want her for this position. Lili has the respect of her tribe as well as has proven to me on multiple occasions she has the bravery, loyalty, and strategic leadership ability to solve the current struggles within her tribe. She’s already helped eradicate nadai -- a long overlooked plague on her people.”
“I can second that,” Jae-Ha chimes in from the sidelines, to Lili’s continued embarrassment.
Yona smiles at the support, then--
“Generals need to know how to fight,” Joo-Doh cuts in, “You’d be putting both she and her tribe in danger by doing this.”
“I do agree, General Joo-Doh. She should also understand the basics of fighting to be competent in her position. To that end, I’d like to appoint one of you to train her.”
Lili looks to Yona in anticipation.
“Tae-Woo,” Yona charges.
The air whooshes out of Lili. Tae-WHO? She didn’t even notice this person…
Tae-Woo doesn’t register Yona’s words at first. What? Then he looks around the room as though there was a mistake...
“It’s because Hak trained me so well, I figured the Wind boys have a knack for this sort of thing. Thanks to Mundok,” Yona glows in her advisor’s direction.
Mundok is absolutely getting a kick out of how lost Tae-Woo looks.
“I don’t like this,” Joo-Doh continues, “I can name five guys off the top of my head who’d be ready to fill the post.”
“And they’d all be exactly like you,” Yona presses, “A little diversity in our perspectives on war policy might be good for the country. There’s only one way to really find out.”
“Fine,” Joo-Doh grumbles, “If she can pass basic training by coronation, then… I'd be willing to try this out. But only if...”
“That’s insane,” Tae-Woo snaps forward, “warriors spend months to get to that level.”
“They don’t have personal trainers,” Geun-Tae considers, eating this up, “And definitely not one of the best warriors in the country as their personal trainer.”
“Lili,” Yona offers, “if this is asking too much…”
Lili shakes her head, “No! No… not at all. I’ll do my best,” she turns to Tae-Woo whose face is all disbelief of his bad, bad luck. Oh shit.
Off to the side, Hak, who has on purpose held his tongue the entire meeting, is beaming at Yona. Every goal she walked in here with, she either just achieved or significantly brought forward.
Once outside the meeting, Yona walks and walks until she’s in the garden next to the fountain she always goes to for privacy.
His hands on her shoulders. Her heart skips a beat.
Yona turns to face Hak, crying tears mixed of joy and sadness.
“Princess…” Hak isn’t sure how to take this. With one hand he pushes a lock of hair behind her ear while with the other he pulls her close, “What is it? You were amazing in there.”
“Your name…” she sobs out, “I’m so happy… I didn’t realize... how emotional… finally… everyone will get to know how great you are.”
He caresses her back, “You thinking that has always been enough for me. But hearing you talk about me that way in there,” he playfully lifts her chin and looks straight into her eyes. He’s about to finish, but -- their lips crush together, bodies heating at the emotion of the touch.
Within seconds, they’re on the ground, well-hidden by the surrounding tall grasses and flowers, intensely making out. Yona rolls her head back as Hak runs his mouth over her neckside. She's getting lost in the feel of him...
“Wait,” Yona can barely get the word out, her hands lost in his mess of dark hair, “I can’t keep doing this.”
“Hm?” Hak lifts his mouth from her and tries to calm himself.
“Whenever I’m with you, I’m so happy, I just want to… this,” she almost goes back for his lips, then catches herself, “but I need to talk to you. First.”
Hak, king of restraint, pulls himself away and sits down across from her to listen, “Is everything OK?”
Yona shakes her head ‘no.’ Hak’s expression darkens.
“Min-Soo decoded the message. Somehow… those guys knew I was pregnant. And were asking what to do... about it.”
Yona sees fear in his eyes -- the same she saw from in the morning. She places a hand over his. And then she can’t help it… because it’s their baby. Yona starts sobbing.
Hak pulls her tightly against his chest, his blue garments dampening from her tears. She can only imagine the fear on his face has morphed to a frightening anger now.
“Yona,” Shin-Ah shocks them both from nearby.
Yona looks up at the blue dragon, “...Shin-Ah?”
If he wasn’t wearing his mask, Shin-Ah would look shocked to see Yona’s blotched face from crying. He hesitates slightly before revealing, “Zeno and Kija are approaching.”
Yona gasps in relief, “They’re back!” but when she turns to face Hak it hits her:
They’re her liaisons with Soo-Won. And Hak doesn’t know Soo-Won is alive.

First Night Back in Fuuga Ch 39: Messengers
AO3 Link to Chapter 39
Summary: Yona gets word from Soo-Won
“It wasn’t an accident.”
The water is still today. And here now, the chests are rising and falling in almost sync.
Ik-Soo and Soo-Won sit side by side at the meditating pond deep in the woods behind Kija’s village.
Soo-Won doesn’t rush Ik-Soo to elaborate. He waits. It's Ik-Soo who finally speaks--
“You’ve completed seven trials in seven days and yet you've asked for nothing. Tell me, what’s been on your mind if not the quest for the rest of what I promised to reveal to you?”
Soo-Won stares at that still pond, knowing exactly what’s been at the forefront of his every thought this week, “The dragons… I’ve been thinking about whether they’ve reached her yet.”
Ik-Soo isn’t surprised, but fascinated, “When they reach her, what do you imagine will happen?”
“If you’re curious…,” Soo-Won continues to sit peacefully, “Tell me what wasn’t an accident. In return, I’ll answer you.”
Ik-Soo smiles -- there it is. Soo-Won is never “off.” No matter how things may look. He’s nothing if not perpetually cunning.
Ik-Soo concedes, “Yona’s mother’s death. Everyone was led to believe it was accidental. But in truth, it was far more tragic than that.”
Something disturbs the water. Soo-Won keeps his breathing steady, but it does nothing to stop him from feeling the stabbing pain in his chest.
Each step he takes closer to the truth, the more he desperately needs to speak to her.
“When they reach her,” Soo-Won keeps his voice even, “I imagine... Yona will come here to me.”
“The Thunder Beast is going to sire the next generation of our royal line? This is amazing -- Kouka’s gonna be invincible!”
“Princess Yona, too, though… she’s breathtakingly gorgeous. And I heard she learned to fight from him.”
“It’s true, it’s so romantic! And our country’s royalty will be restored with such vigor… what news today!”
Cups have been clinking in high frequency this evening with excited murmurs filling the palace dining hall. Yona requested the truth about Hak be spread immediately -- as well as news that their marriage is official.
Yona smiles from her table with her happy, hungry bunch as she watches Hak retreat back to the side of the great hall again. Though he’s often gotten attention in his life for his skills and position, it’s never been quite like this.
What the hell. Whiplash... Hak shakes his head from his temporary hiding spot. Palace life with Yona had always been “make a move on the princess and it’s over.” Now, well....
SMACK! Geun-Tae thumps Hak on the back with a thrilled grin at the day’s events.
“I’ve been meaning raise a glass with you!”
“Not drinking tonight. But thank you. I appreciate it.”
“Ahh, I see. Well, you do have a big job ahead,” and it’s clear Geun-Tae isn’t referencing becoming king in the near future, “Everyone will be clamoring for this heir. And a herd more. Rebuilding the royal line…,” the warrior gives Hak a nostalgic look then shakes his head in admiration.
As Geun-Tae heads away, Hak returns to his mental bewilderment… Now, it’s more like, “bed the princess -- get her as pregnant as you can -- and we’ll all throw you a party.” Hak’s not complaining, but the conversations are… weird. He could do without everyone cheering on his sex life.
Hak notices Yona giggling at him from the distance. He playfully narrows his eyes at her and walks over.
As he slips down beside her, “It’s not funny. And it’s easy to laugh when everyone’s too well-mannered to say anything to you about it.”
Yona gives his thigh a squeeze under the table, “If only they knew how skilled you are at that, too. The first try and…”
Color rises up Hak’s cheeks. They were pretty efficient in that particular effort...
“What isn’t funny?” Jae-Ha, the most joyous spreader of the epic romance of Princess Yona and her devoted warrior Hak news, presses with a mischevious smile.
“What exactly have you been telling people, Droopy Eyes,” Hak glares.
“What?” Jae-Ha innocently takes another swig of alcohol.
“People keep telling Hak to get me pregnant,” Yona states matter-of-factly, not entirely hiding her amusement.
“BAHahahaha,” Jae-Ha nearly falls over from hysteria, “that is... ,” pulling himself together, “Listen, Little Brother, that was going to happen regardless of anything I or anyone else said. You’re both too lovable and gorgeous. And Yona’s the last royal. Even I’m more excited than seems logical.”
“I’m... “ Hak searches for the words, “I’m surprised there hasn’t been any… hesitation.”
“About what?” Both Yona and Jae-Ha are sincerely curious.
It’s almost under his breath and he looks neither in the eye, “... my lineage.”
Yona slides a hand over Hak’s under the table, looking up at him with worried eyes, “Hak…”
“Why?” Jae-Ha isn’t having any of that, “Look at you. There’s nothing more to do -- you’re incredibly good-looking, powerful, respected. Great with people, a leader, devoted as hell.”
“Just reinforcing that he’s taken, Jae-Ha,” Yona teases protectively.
Jae-Ha smiles sportively, then continues, “The focus is really on Yona Dear’s lineage and continuing that. Someone as incredible as you being the father is really just bonus.”
Yona glances up at Hak’s face as all this continues to settle in. There’s something poignant about these positive reactions that’s clearly hitting him, she just wishes she knew what it was… But he’s always so good at protecting her privacy. She’d be remiss not to give him his.
Hak feels like an idiot. But an idiot with a massive, lifetime’s worth of weight somehow beginning to lift off his back. It’s not that he wants to give Keishuk any validation for his words on the battlefield that day at Kai, that he’d hit a nerve or something when he’d accused Hak of mixing his dirty blood with the royal line… but he can’t deny that he’s always felt… less than.
And maybe it wasn’t less than just anyone. He certainly didn’t feel that way about Tae-Jun. Puh! It was just less than... one someone. Soo-Won. A man who had royal lineage. And who she had loved since forever.
He feels Yona squeeze his hand under the table and that warmth goes straight to his heart. All those needless insecurities. Here she is at his side -- their love real, child growing, and coronation imminent. He should just let the past go now. And focus on their future.
“So when do I get to hear about this secret mission?” Hak calls over to the oddly quiet Kija and Zeno at the table.
All four dragons turn their attention to Yona in question. Yun looks slightly annoyed to also be out of the loop on this one, but then returns to the soup he didn’t have to cook today -- he’s zen enough from pampered palace life right now he doesn’t feel the necessity to make a snide remark. This time.
Earlier, the moment Zeno and Kija had arrived, Yona had thrown her arms around them in welcome and whispered not to say a word. Jae-Ha and Shin-Ah, who were also aware this whole time of what this secret mission was most likely about, were also kept in the loop that this was most sensitive and she needed some time with Hak.
“Patience,” Yona reminds her husband, “I’m going to tell you everything tonight. Promise.”
FWIP. FWIP. One bottleneck. Two hands. One tan and worn. The other soft porcelain.
“Oh!”
Lili and Tae-Woo had both gone to the table of alcohol up front and grabbed the same bottle.
Lili’s hand on top of his, she lets go.
Fumbling to be polite, Tae-Woo reaches for a different bottle.
“It’s you…” Lili utters unintentionally, gawking at him curiously.
Then an awkwardness descends on them both, not knowing each other or what to say…
“Hi…”
“So... you’re part of Hak’s family…”
“Yeah.”
“...that’s... cool. He saved my life before. In Sei.”
“I saw. I was there, actually.”
“Oh…” Lili stares at this new face to her. Why doesn’t she know anything about this person? “I’m sorry, I should have known that. Thank you for fighting that time.”
Tae-Woo softly smiles, seeing she’s as nervous as he is, “Don’t worry about it. You were… pretty tied up.”
Lili smiles back, “Yeah, that’s a nice way to put that.”
They’re both holding their separate alcohol bottles, ready to go back to their tables. But the conversation doesn’t feel closed. They stand there looking at the ground. Then they both look up at the same time and speak simultaneously--
“See you tomorrow.” “I’m glad it worked out.”
“Huh?” “Oh. Yeah.”
Lili meets Tae-Woo’s eyes straight on, “Glad what worked out?”
Damnit. Tae-Woo doesn’t know why those words came out of his mouth, but he started it so he’s stuck finishing now...“Hak saving you.”
A corner of Lili’s lips rises and her eyebrows raise inward. What an innocent, sweet thing to say?
“See you tomorrow,” Tae-Woo echos as he quickly turns, returning to his table. There’re joyous cheers when he arrives with the alcohol.
Lili catches herself watching after him, feeling a weird sting from his departure and subsequent popularity. There was sorta a feeling of calm talking to him. Now he’s not here anymore, there feels like... an empty space. And it wasn’t there before.
Tomorrow. Lili focuses. She braces herself. It'll be her first day of training.
“He’s alive…” Yona takes deep breaths. This information hurts her with every word and yet she’s desperate to know more, “How… is he?”
Zeno, Kija, Shin-Ah, Jae-Ha, Ao, and Yun are in their bedroom with Yona -- the former two recounting details. While none of the dragons are surprised by this revelation, and Ao is distracted by a nut, Yun is right there with Yona in shock.
“How did this happen?!” Yun asks as though someone really messed up this time.
“I asked them to…” Yona admits, eyes cast downward because she ever more has reason to question her decision.
“And you didn’t tell Hak?!” Yun throws a hand over his mouth -- he’s being insensitive. But honestly. Some things must be shouted in outrage.
“I never got a chance to be alone with him!”
“Oh come on…” Yun happens to be very aware of otherwise.
Yona continues her defense, “Whenever we were alone together… Yun, I’m pregnant.”
Yun’s eyes about pop out of his head at that leap in explanation.
Jae-Ha pats him on the back, “Go order some room service. You’ll feel better.”
“He’s well,” Kija cuts in as Yun rises in a stupor to find a servant to bring him something, “He’s been staying as a guest of my village with Ik-Soo keeping close watch.”
“And he’s been amenable to… staying?”
“Not at first, Little Miss,” Zeno laughs, still eating some meat on a stick he took with him from dinner while he remembers a thing or two about those early days with Soo-Won, “but he’s calmed down a lot.”
“He did ask for us to deliver an urgent message to you,” Kija explains.
Yona’s heart skips a beat. Breathing becomes more difficult, “What does he want?”
“He said you’re in danger... is that true, Princess?”
Yona takes a labored, deep breath, “What did he say about that?” --her tone says it all.
“He said the details absolutely had to be expressed in person. By him. And so he… he asked you to come to him. Urgently. In order to save both you and Hak’s lives.”
“Come to him?” Yona stares as she tries to regain her breath. Why is it that nothing affects her like Soo-Won?
“Are you OK, Dear?” Jae-Ha puts an arm around Yona to calm her shaking.
“No,” she tries to keep the tears at bay, “Jae-Ha… I need to be with Hak right now.”
Jae-Ha helps Yona walk out into the hall -- and there Hak waits for her.
The moment he sees that pale look on her face and the pain in her eyes, his chest tightens in a way it has few times before. His hands itch for a firm grip.
This familiar feeling he never wanted to feel again.

First Night Back in Fuuga Ch 33: Preparing for What’s Coming
AO3 Link to Chapter 33
Summary: Friends arrive to help Yona and Hak transition into everything new
Knock Knock Knock -- the sweet rhythm gives itself away.
The entire room looks toward the door, hearts lifted, as Yun approaches to open it. And when he does--
Yona bursts onto him with a hug and cheery face, “You’re here!”
Catching his balance, Yun smiles as he lifts his arms to hug her back, “It’s surprising, alright, but… here we are. Our own room in the palace.”
Yona glances across at Jae-Ha, Shin-Ah, and Ao beaming at her.
“I can’t wait to show you everything! This was my home for most of my life. My whole world.”
“Then I can’t wait to see it,” Jae-Ha coos as he approaches, “Your Majesty.”
“Oh Jae-Ha…” Yona blushes, “You don’t need to address me like that.”
“You know how I adore powerful women,” he lifts her hand to his lips for a gentle peck.
Yona’s eyes go wide. Powerful? Sure, maybe that’s true… but it’s still so weird to hear. Less than a year before she’d been at her most powerless. A painful point of reference she’ll carry with her always.
Yona glances down toward Jae-Ha’s abs, where he’d been hurt in battle, “How are you feeling?”
“Don’t worry, Dear. I may not be Zeno, but we dragons heal quickly,” Jae-Ha looks up out the door and far in the distance sees Hak leaning against a wall, watching.
As Ao bounds onto Yona and she with a giggle rushes to Shin-Ah, Jae-Ha slips out the door with a simple “be right back” to Yun.
A few strides later, Jae-Ha arrives at Hak.
“You’re an impressive man, Hak, but I think you’d have to actually split in two to be both the king and her bodyguard. Unless you tied her up and took her with you everywhere."
Both men look at each other considering, then smile at how impossible that would be with Yona.
Hak looks longingly toward the door that has her within, “I knew what I was getting into when I married her. I didn’t know what I was getting into when we got her back here.”
“King.”
“Don’t remind me.”
Jae-Ha would normally bug him further, but he can tell this concept is actually bothering Hak, so instead--
“You know, there are a couple handy dragons around… sworn to protect her, specials powers, and all that. You can trust us. Not to mention some warrior seems to have taught her how to fight for herself.”
Hak looks back to Jae-Ha, “Yeah, I know. I trust you all. I just don’t trust this place. Not yet. There’re some things I need to take care of."
"I have no doubt," Jae-Ha's just waiting for the ask.
"Mundok should be arriving today. Keep an eye on her till then?”
“Of course,” Jae-Ha had already planned on it.
Hak takes one last glance at the door, then heads in another direction.
While Yun checks on Min-Soo and Shin-Ah hunts for a stash of nuts for Ao, Yona walks with Jae-Ha in one of the palace's elaborate flower gardens to find privacy.
“Here!” at last Yona finds the fountain she was looking for, a little trickle of water to further mask the sound of their voices. She sits and Jae-Ha joins at her side.
“Oh!” Jae-Ha gasps when Yona throws her arms around his shoulders in a hug.
“I’m sorry,” she pulls back and looks up at him teary-eyed, “Finally we can talk -- I’m just so relieved you’re OK. Jae-Ha… back at Kai.”
“I thought you’d be mad at me.”
“Furious,” Yona admits, “You pinned me down!”
Jae-Ha looks so very sorry.
Yona looks ahead, determined, “But thank you: you were right. If I had started things over that way, I would be no better than Soo-Won. That’s not how I want to live my life.”
Jae-Ha looks out over the water, “You’re a hard master to follow. And the most easily admirable.”
“You know I’m not your master. And you could have died! Jae-Ha, you mean the world to me. Don’t think that wouldn’t have affected me as deeply. Please, be selfish -- protect yourself.”
“I was.”
Yona watches him a moment, not entirely grasping his meaning. But on his countenance… well, the meaning must be deep.
“Zeno aside… dragon lives are short.”
“Jae-Ha...”
“It’s a reality we’re always aware of. Yona, since meeting you… it’s the first time in my life I felt whole. And not just OK with this life… thankful. That’s why, if someone needs to sacrifice himself for you -- I want it to be me.”
“Jae-Ha, why are you…?”
He smiles softly down to her, “Hak.”
And suddenly Yona understands… if things had been different and it hadn’t been Jae-Ha that day, it would’ve most certainly been Hak. If he’d had his way. ...as always, Jae-Ha wasn’t just protecting her.
“He’s the most resilient man I’ve ever seen. I think he might live forever. And he has good reason to.”
Yona blushes a little and looks down at her shoes… “Can I tell you a secret?”
“Of course.”
Still looking down, “He may have another good reason on the way.”
When Yona braves peeking up at Jae-Ha, his returning smile reaches the bottom of her heart.
On she and Jae-Ha’s way back, Yona spots Mundok with Tae-Woo at the other end of the main courtyard. She starts running.
Mundok turns to see a blur of crimson, pink, and amethyst headed his way. He opens his arms wide. When he bends down, he pulls her into a grand hug -- incredible relief etched across his face.
Mundok, fully aglow, looks up at Jae-Ha approaching from the same direction the princess came as he sets her down. With a quick glance around, “The boy left your side?!”
“He’ll be so happy to see you.”
That touches Mundok, “I’m glad to hear you’re both OK. I heard about the battle. Terrible.”
Yona nods, “It was a miracle we survived."
Then Mundok remembers something, “I’m gonna have to kill him."
Tae-Woo has a hand to his face in defeat. Jae-Ha is thoroughly amused.
Yona is shocked, “Why?!”
“He let you get carried off by Soo-Won from the center of battle!”
“He’d just taken down the enemy leader!” Tae-Woo tries to clarify.
“He’d better have!”
“He’d almost taken down Soo-Won--”
“--had he, the princess wouldn’t have--”
“I’m fine!” Yona stresses, trying to calm the violent banter, “Jae-Ha found me. It was very lucky.”
The Wind men look at Jae-Ha with admiration. Mundok pulls the green dragon into a warm hug which is shocking after all those fighting words. Tae-Woo watches unphased.
“It’s good to see you, Jae-Ha. It’s a great thing you did for the princess.”
Jae-Ha watches the old man, wondering how much he knows about what happened that day…
“By the way, Lady Lili was just looking for you.”
“Lili’s here?!” Yona lights up even more.
“Just arrived. We crossed her at the gate. She was asking about Jae-Ha.”
Jae-Ha glances toward the gate in confusion...
“I’m glad you could make it,” Joo-Doh says from where he's been waiting.
Hak closes the door to the king’s quarters behind him.
With sarcasm, "Nice work," Hak looks back toward the wall that Yona told him had gone to flames the night Soo-Won murdered her father in here, "you can’t tell there was ever a fire in here.”
“It’s important to me that you know I had nothing to do with that.”
“Why? Because it’s true? Or because I’m about to be king?”
Joo-Doh rises from the chair where he was sitting and approaches Hak so they can see each others’ eyes.
“I serve the king, whoever that may be. For the good of the Sky Tribe and Kouka.”
“Half your tribe was in on it. How did your men raise a sword to the princess and you not know about it?”
Joo-Doh looks away in frustration, then back, “I don’t know.”
“Not a single member of the Wind Tribe would have ever…”
“I’m aware that there may still be corruption in the Sky Tribe. It’s my commitment that I’ll weed those warriors out.”
Hak isn’t so sure about that…
“But to keep you and the princess safe, to win loyalty and inspire these men… I need something to tell them about that night. What really happened.”
“You’re so good at telling the truth, why not start with that?”
“I have no idea what the truth is. About that night or the battle with Kai. I myself am not sure if you’re a king I should be inspired to support or wary to follow.”
Hak stares at Joo-Doh, pissed. Not just because of what he said. Also because Hak doesn’t actually know what happened to Soo-Won at Kai. Just that the bastard's gone now. He’d figured he’d get a chance to get more details from the princess once they had some privacy, but that's not the direction things took...
“Do me a favor and don’t ever speak to Her Majesty like that,” Hak growls, his words sharp as blades, “We would appreciate it if you could get control of your tribe,” then looking at Joo-Doh straight in the eyes, “and if you want to know the truth, remember back on the childhoods you watched for so long. What kind of people do you honestly think we are?”
As Hak leaves, Joo-Doh sadly replies, “That’s the same reason I was loyal to Soo-Won after that night. I hope you can understand my confusion.”
Without looking back, Hak closes the door behind him, then stares forward over that damned courtyard. Yes, he can understand. That confusion has been the worst pain of his life.
The sight of that spot where she was on her knees, that sword above her… Hak’s breath catches. Suddenly he’s desperate to hold her, remind himself she’s OK.
Jae-Ha is letting Mundok alone escort Yona to a meeting scheduled with Kyo-Ga since the meeting needs to be private anyway and Mundok is the pinnacle of people to trust. Also, because Yona has been privately sharing special news today...
Yona is bursting to tell Mundok about she and Hak’s news, but knows she can’t yet. They haven’t seen a doctor to know for sure and Hak should definitely be there when they tell his grandfather…
“Your Majesty,” Kyo-Ga bows profoundly to Yona who has just arrived before the meeting room.
In the privacy of the generals' meeting room, Kyo-Ga confides, “Your coronation is imminent. So long as Soo-Won doesn’t appear within the next week, there will be no complication.”
Yona nods, “You wanted to meet to confirm this?"
“No… I wanted to meet to discuss seeing to it there would be no complications.”
“What do you mean?”
“No one knows exactly what happened to Soo-Won, correct?”
“...it's correct I’m not sure of Soo-Won’s current state,” Yona is careful not to lie.
“If he does appear somewhere or heavens forbid show up at the palace… I’d like to assure you that he will disappear once more. He will not be king or a threat to you any longer.”
Yona’s eyes go wide, “That's…”
“I’d like to protect you and your crown, Your Majesty, because of all you represent.”
“I don’t represent that, Kyo-Ga,” it slips out.
“Pardon?”
Yona can see a certain terror in his eyes, that she’s upset with him or worse, so she softens, “Please don’t concern yourself with such measures. There are more important issues to focus on...”
They meet eyes for a challenging moment, then Kyo-Ga eloquently changes the topic to Yona’s relief.
Yet all through the rest of the meeting, Yona is bothered by the idea she may not have convinced the Fire general to set aside his special effort…
Outside again, Yona sits with Mundok at Hak’s favorite bench.
“I once had many conversations with your father about meetings like this,” Mundok reveals, looking down at Yona tenderly like her father himself, “If you have the Fire Tribe’s support, then everything else aside, there is something good there.”
“Yes, but… Mundok,” Yona can’t take it anymore, she has to tell someone, she feels overwhelmed and sick, anxious, “I’ve complicated everything terribly. Most think he’s dead. Kyo-Ga just said he would kill him if he wasn’t. … but I had Kija and Zeno take him someplace safe.”
“Who…? Slow down,” Mundok grows concerned at Yona’s fast pace and her face turning white.
“Soo-Won,” her eyes flash up, “he’s still alive.”
Out. Finally, the words are out. And instead of better, the shock on Mundok’s face makes Yona feel worse. She feels like she’s gonna throw up but she can’t. Air. She needs air.
Yona bolts up to her feet only to feel immense dizziness.
She takes a step and falls.
“Look at you, upright and everything.”
Jae-Ha turns around at the training grounds where he’d gone in hopes of finding Hak. Instead, it appears he's been found by Lady Lili.
“It was no thanks to Hak’s gentle handling, but I survived,” Jae-Ha takes a seat at one of the benches overlooking the field.
Lili joins beside him, “I’m just looking for Yona.”
Jae-Ha is annoyed that he kind of knows that’s a lie, “She’s at the generals’ meeting room.”
Lili nods but makes no effort to get up, “How are you doing? Your wounds?”
“I’d be remiss not to ask you the same.”
“Hm?”
“I heard about your father,” Jae-Ha admits sincerely.
Lili stares forward, serene. Jae-Ha notices there’s something different about her now -- something in the look in her eyes.
Mundok sits at Yona’s bedside in a small patient room, trying and failing to suppress an enormous smile. Yona looks exhausted, but content in her bedding.
Hak rushes in past the doctor who tries to slow him down. Yona smiles up at him and he back down at her -- only to be grabbed by Mundok and dragged into an adjacent room, door closed.
Hak is frantic to get back to her-- “What happened?! Is she hurt?”
“The princess is fine.”
Hak sighs relief, then sees the way Mundok is looking at him…
“Did the doctor say something…”
Mundok’s eyes narrow, “You couldn’t give her any time to recuperate after the battle…?”
Hak’s cheeks turn pink as he lifts a hand to nervously scratch the back of his head as he looks down in search of a non-super-awkward answer, “Gramps, I…”
But when Hak looks back up, he sees Mundok’s face is bright and teary. The elder strides over and pulls his grandson into a heartfelt bear hug.
“Don't worry about that -- there’s no such thing as a good time for starting your family,” Mundok is so damn proud, “Congratulations, Boy. What a blessing. And I’ll be a great grandfather… The gods are clearly behind your union. What an incredible child this will be. What a great fortune this is.”
Hak can barely breathe from the hug, but despite that he is immensely thankful his grandfather is so happy about this. ...he just got the princess pregnant and Mundok isn’t trying to kill him. This is a miracle beyond miracles.
“So it’s for sure…?” Hak manages, “We didn’t know yet.”
Mundok nods, “It’s for sure. And the princess let me know why you didn’t come to a doctor sooner.”
“I didn’t like it,” Hak stresses.
“It was a good idea,” Mundok corrects, “The generals have almost all arrived. The meeting about coronation will take place tomorrow. The princess can’t be seen with a doctor. She needs to appear in good health.”
“Then what about…?” Hak nods toward the room with the doctor.
“I’ll see to it this one stays quiet. The princess should be fine if she stays in your care the rest of the day and through the night. But you need to get her spirit back up. She loves you, Boy, I'm sure you'll have no trouble.”
Hak looks away from his grandfather, his face now completely red from the awkward.
Hak enters to see his wife looking up at him with worried eyes.
“I know you wanted to come to the doctor together,” Yona apologizes.
“No, no, I’m just happy you and the baby are OK,” Hak sits beside her and bends down to kiss her forehead.
“The baby…,” Yona beams up at him remembering, “our baby.”
Hak takes one of her hands in his and caresses her cheek with his other, “I wanna do something special for you tonight. Will you come somewhere with me -- just us?”
