In the classic Abbott and Costello comedy sketch "Who’s on First", the baseball team is made up of players with unique names like "who", "what", and "I don’t know". Poor Abbott. Poor Costello. They heard each other’s words but just couldn’t seem to understand what each other was saying. ‍ It’s no secret that we all desire to be listened to and we all want to be understood. I'm right. You're wrong. Why should I listen to you? Wait, what?!? You don’t understand what I’m saying? How is that even possible? ‍ In the book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People", Dr. Stephen Covey says that most people listen with the intent to reply, not to understand. You listen to yourself as you prepare in your mind what you are going to say, the questions you are going to ask, etc. You filter everything you hear through your life experiences, your frame of reference. You check what you hear against your autobiography and see how it measures up. And consequently, you decide prematurely what the other person means before he/she finishes communicating. ‍ Author and pastor Andy Stanley likes to say that leaders who don’t listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say. How about us? Do we first seek to understand what someone else is saying, where they are coming from, or even what the situation is? We could all stand to do a little better so we don’t end up like Abbott and Costello. How about we try a little harder today to understand others. I've been trying to write about embarrassment for the past few days but haven't figured out where to begin. So here's something from the bottom of my heart.

First, there is (Why childhood is Important)

Embarrassment This thirteen-letter word possesses the most royalty of any word. When we dressed up all by ourselves and then some insignificant existing being appeared who is always ready to judge others. The main point is that in our Indian society, we were always taught that you need the opinions of others to shine on your own. Because we are social creatures. When that 'F' is judging you, you'll feel like dude is it necessary to be entertained. And if you somehow tell a close friend, Pressure from Society

Then there's the actual fire test. Your attitude was formed immediately following the comment and judgmental incident. In your adolescence, you try to demean others simply because of what others have done to you. You become that reckless individual rather than attempting to fit in by doing what others will do anyway. Then they'll pass judgement, but you don't care. But once you're out of your teens, you'll realise the whole embarrassment thing was a lie. By then, you'll be wearing whatever makes you feel more at ease or makes you feel more like yourself. Furthermore, the entire known society continues to mock your family for being themselves. You want to smash their face, but you remember that your success will put a stop to it. Awakens

You will have mastered the art of ignoring everything by this point, and you will be unconcerned about anything except your mental peace. It's the most appealing thing you could ever imagine. Meanwhile, knowing how to use social media correctly will aid in the most important growth of your life, your mindset. You'll attract people by allegedly embarrassing yourself, and they'll contact you about your mindset, which will boost your confidence.

P.S. As a result of this process, you will have to let go of some unwelcome people, despite your best efforts.

Nobody Is Concerned

After going through this process, you will learn the most important lesson of your life: "nobody cares." This is because everyone has problems, struggles to share, or is simply waiting for someone to listen to their story without passing judgement. Or many have found their solutions by simply having some addiction in some way or another. They waited so long for someone to hear them and when they didn't, they tried to escape from their reality, and that's how everything works on this beautiful earth.

Be who you are.

No one can replace your identity. When I say identity, I mean many aspects of one's character, as well as how you make them feel about themselves. So it's better to be yourself than anyone else; your uniqueness is up to you; you must discover it for yourself, and this journey is extremely relaxing because there is no formula for discovering your "unique factor." So it's better to go through it all on your own and do whatever you want.

This time, there is a craze about "let's normalise" everything starts from within, so it is better to normalise every talk that is considered abnormal and trust me, if not you, then someone or a stranger will benefit from it. Because there is someone or a group of people who would love to hear that, and their confidence will inspire you to do better every day, which is known as "perseverance."

ZINE   1 day project

For this project we were asked to make a 8 page Zine. My group had to base the researches on Mechademia- Limits of the Human, a volume about a posthuman future through visionary works of Japanese anime and manga. It shows different aspects of the Japanese history and culture and how they have affected the world.

I’m not particularly into manga and anime but I find them really interesting and I would like to explore and learn more about this world.

We had a great quantity of ideas so we immediately started to put them down and sketch them with the layout of the Zine. 

FINAL OUTCOME  

I really enjoyed working at this brief as I had the opportunity to see people’s ideas and compare them with mine. In addition, we discussed  to decide which one to choose. My team worked very well together and everyone came out with strong ideas to develop and at the end of the day everyone did a great job. The pages work well together and the colours used convey a nice and simple effect of the work. We incorporated both illustrations, collages and images edited with photoshop.
