Welcome to the Horror house everyone. LMK if you want to be added/removed to tag list. This taglist will include a first portion, which is other blogs, and the second tag list which is viewers who want to follow along.

More is coming! Ciphers will gradually get harder, until the first arc is over, and then something different will happen. This is mostly planned out with wiggle room on how this is going to go based on interactions mystery person has.

Oh and, May 8th does play quite a significance within this first arc. Congrats to Sparrow for finding that out first.

A discord server will be made eventually for this, but it probably won't be online until Wednesday or later. Everyone will be able to join, whether viewer or CC, and it will be 18+ although anyone is more than welcome to share screenshots of the decoded to viewers of this that cannot get into the server. Also everyone is welcome to follow this, I just prefer doing an adults only Discord server.

Once the Discord is up and running, decoded messages (if not solved or solved fully) will be posted in Server every Friday, that way everyone can be on the same page and progressing at the same time. There will be no posts on this blog on Friday unless it's OOC posts because of it.

TLDR: I got better at writing interactive horror, and I'm going to make that everyone's problem :) A discord is coming soon where decoded messages will be posted every Friday and because of that there will be no Lore posts on this blog on Fridays. Enjoy!!!

… I've largely managed to hc and work through my White Collar S5 issues (by never watching them again).

And I absolutely believe that the whole bit at the end is the Neal way of saying 'do you forgive me?'

He reveals to the two people closest to him that it was a con, and how he did it, and a hint to where he is. Esp if you take away all the weird characterisation in S5/give it better motivation, it's, imo, very clear that this isn't just Neal going back to square one. This is his way of leaving the door open. There's no summons, no requirement to come. Just a hint, making it their decision if they want to bother.

Mozzie clearly did, and I am a million percent sure that familiar proud dad smile of Peter's means he does, too.

Apparently the theme of the past two days has been gut wrenching apologies. Because I watched the Helluva Boss "Apology Tour" last night. And decided to follow that with what was indisputably a worse apology tour from Lestat de Lioncourt. They were both beautifully done episodes. But I was left feeling empty after both. Both about the loss of love. However while "Apology Tour" felt salvageable, "I Could Not Prevent It" did not. There is no coming back from that. There is only trying to heal. Knowing you will always have a hole in your heart for what happened. Lestat will never recover, Louis will never recover, and Armand will never recover. Their knarled triplicate of love and loneliness. With poor Claudia as the victim caught in the crosshairs once again. I knew what was coming and yet the way the show tackled that storyline was....

I usually love rewatching the episodes to analyze things said and background and lies told. But I don't know if I'll be able to watch that one again. At least not for a very long while.

Idk where I'm going with this, I'm still sipping my coffee. But there's something about Thedas being a continent of certainties in so many ways. They KNOW magic exists. They KNOW spirits / demons exist. They have tangible, demonstrable proof of things that in the real world and many fictional settings are a matter of debate and faith. The majority of groups even know for a fact that their gods exist and work in the world. They don't need to take it on faith. They can reach out and touch them.

Andrastians, meanwhile, are the only ones left in the end who have no proof and never will. Faith is their only option. Which plays a role, I think, in them being more focused on Andraste than the Maker. Because they are living in a world of certainties, and She is the only proof of the divine they've ever had.

#OOC / HOLLY.#this is not getting into the issues surrounding the Maker being the only god they won't explain because HOO #and there are those far more qualified than I to speak to the matter #but just. the fact that Thedas is a world of PROOF and TANGIBILITY #yet the Maker is the only god who remains intangible with Andraste being literally the only line they ever had of him #and the only 'proof' he ever existed — because remember he ONLY spoke to Andraste #and he abandoned the world again after her death #he has NEVER communicated with mortals aside from her so if she hadn't won his favor #the world would never have recalled his existence — *if he even exists and in what form*#like. from an in-universe perspective it is such a glaring difference #and I do think it's one Thedosians should have a different psychological outlook on than real world people #because their reality operates by different rules #and obvs I'm thinking more DA:TV and after because up until that point #elves and dwarves also took the Creators and the Stone on faith #but for good or ill they don't have to do that anymore after DA:TV #they have certainty. it's right there. they can reach out and touch them #meanwhile MAGIC and GHOSTS will always be more tangible to Andrastians than their god #I'm not making a point I just think it's interesting these thoughts accompany my coffee
