Notes:

Visage's primary weapons are a pair of sickles stolen from a slain Overlord early in her bounty hunting career that she has since modified to be coated in angelic steel for added lethality.

She also owns a custom angelic steel high-power pistol that is holstered at the small of her back (still need to draw a ref for it). Her primary fighting style is probably VERY familiar to a lotta people (minus the staff combat portions, cuz her sickles don't combine like that):

OKAY! I've had these pieces sitting around for AWHILE now, but didn't wanna include them in that first massive art dump alongside all the club staff and Vizzy's various ref images, SO ... now I finally get to introduce the gal's folks!

There's still QUITE a bit more backstory to reveal on these two (her dad, especially), but for now you get to at least see where Vizzy's roguish good looks and rugged charm come from. LOL

20. If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?

Uncommon Character Development Questions This is a tough one to answer! In any universe where she hasn't formed a close bond with Angel Dust, as much as she hates Valentino ... she would actually choose the Exorcist that killed Dhallia (which, depending on verse, MAY or may not be @holyfurnace's Lute *cough* >_>). But if she's gotten deeply invested in Angel's well-being and they have a genuine connection going? Valentino--no doubt about it.

OKAY. So THIS quiz result gave me a perfect fuckin' excuse to dissect Vizzy's mental state when it comes to love and relationships and why she is the way she is (and does what she does). She ABSOLUTELY puts the entirety of who she is into a relationship--mind, body, soul. It's why the loss of her first and only real significant other, Dhallia, devastates her so completely. Her entire heart goes into the love and care of the person she falls for, expecting nothing in return. Not only did she endure a severely traumatic event because of the loss, itself, but she's been left in a state of feeling utterly LOST and without purpose. She put all of her emotional eggs into a single basket ... and then that basket fell off a cliff. It's little wonder, then, why she begins to engage in a very high-risk lifestyle following Dhallia's death. After all, it's when she starts amassing most of her scars. From her perspective, she has nothing left to lose. The only part of her world that truly mattered to her is gone, so why would she be concerned for her own well-being anymore? She becomes a very hedonistic creature from then on, chasing highs and throwing herself into dangerous situations on the regular--and this is even BEFORE she makes up her mind that during the next Extermination she's going out in a blaze of glory. But as we all know ... that plan goes completely sideways--she doesn't die in 'glorious battle' against a squad of Exorcists, because Carmilla Carmine lands a killing blow on one of them and the rest scatter in panic. And from then on ... nothing that she really wanted comes to pass. Not only does she survive, but all this power and expectation is suddenly thrust upon her that she feels obligated to go along with, because now she has to wait AGAIN to have another opportunity to go out the way she wants to. So just as before, she's biding her time, but rather than go entirely on a self-destruction streak of reckless ruin until the day the angels come back, she's trying to at least leave something 'good' and 'worthwhile' behind for others to be able to enjoy and be made better by once she's gone. Until she meets that CERTAIN someone. A person that starts bringing back to life those long-dormant instincts of nurturing, protection, OBSESSION. And it terrifies her. She's been here before. She KNOWS what becomes of her when she loves--and she loves HARD. All that she is goes into it, leaving her with nothing left if it doesn't last. And it's not even JUST that she doesn't think she's strong enough to open herself up to that possibility a second time (though that's a HUGE part of it). It's that Dhallia--all the memoies of her, the specter of that traumatic moment of loss--consumes her ENTIRELY. She's never healed from her death, just stuffed all her emotions down into a deep dark pit while refusing to deal with any of it. This shows the most whenever dates heavily associated with her come around--birthdays ... anniversaries. Those suppressed emotions and all that unaddressed damage start welling up, which she promptly starts stamping back down with anything she can--sex, partying, work, substances, ANYTHING. Doesn't matter how much she might regret it the next day, all that matters is not dealing with it. She can't. She WON'T. It's the one huge roadblock she has to overcome if she's ever going to be able to process love in a healthy way and truly be the sort of person her prospective partner needs.

scars:  how many scars does my muse have? where are they located on my muse’s body? how did they get them? what do they look like? 

Visage has amassed quite the little collection of scars over her lifetime ... and each and every one of them definitely has a story to tell.

The first one you'll notice most likely is this lil' number across the top of her muzzle. This was from a bar brawl with some other hellhounds during her bounty-hunting days. Doesn't regret this one, even if the reason for acquiring it isn't as interesting or exciting as some others--it taught her an important lesson on being too cocky and she's taken that to heart all the rest of her days.

THIS one ... you'll have a very hard time getting a straight answer about, unless she knows the person asking extremely well and trusts them a LOT. At face value, she'll just say it was a close call during an Extermination Day, which isn't a lie--it just isn't the WHOLE truth. This was the wound she sustained while trying to save her sinner girlfriend during one such event and as such, she wears it like a mark of shame. An ever-present reminder of her failure and everything that she's lost. This is one of the few scars she actually tries to cover up with high-collared jackets, collars, and other neck-obscuring accessories/stylistic choices (though she TRIES to be subtle about it).

The mark on her upper left arm is her first work-related injury, actually making it one of the oldest scars she has. Shoulder-checking a demon covered in sharp spines probably wasn't the most brilliant decision she ever made.

Right forearm was from broken glass after punching through the passenger-side window of a car to grab the occupant inside. One of those "seemed cool at the time" moments that she paid for later.

Now THIS one was a scary near-miss situation. The target she was hired to go after was armed with a switchblade edged in angelic steel. Only a few inches of distance were the difference between a grazing wound and a fatal stabbing.

The stab would through her left hand was a 'souvenir' from one of her hardest bounties she ever collected--an Overlord. This was the result of her opponent pinning her to the wall with a well-timed throw of a long piece of rebar. Hurt like HELL, and nearly gave her enemy enough time to finish her off ... but she managed to be the only one left standing in the end.

This one is ... interesting. Technically, one COULD say that it was a work-related injury. If by 'work' you mean 'seducing an intended target and getting into some rough play before taking care of him'. Sometimes pleasure CAN come before business.

This last one was also from a nasty brawl with a beefy target. This slash actually fully severed her Achilles tendon and forced her into an extended 'vacation' for nearly a month after she had it surgically repaired by a specialist in the Sloth Ring. Was one of the last injuries she sustained as a bounty hunter before going into retirement in preparation for what she THOUGHT was going to be her final Extermination Day.

15. What was comforting to your OC as a child? Do they still find comfort in that now?

Know My OC's Roots Meme Much of the comforting things from Visage's youth have lost their luster because they've been soured by her own resentment towards her father and the kind of life his abandonment forced her and her mom into. The one and only constant, though, that she STILL clings to even now is her fondness for the same cheap simple food she grew up on--Bee's Best brand hellhound chow. It was all her mother could afford, aside from the occasional treat of takeout or fast food. Even now that she can easily afford to eat FAR better (and she DOES go to nicer places to eat nowadays, especially now that she can afford it as a club owner and Overlord), her pantry is still FILLED with cans of it. She also keeps a stock of the same brand of hellhound biscuits and a large bag of kibble for the same purpose. Like a child that sucks their thumb or clings to their security blanket, the thing Visage longs for most after an especially hard day is to crack open a can of something nostalgic that takes her back to simpler days.

Uncommon Character Development Questions 29. Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favor solitude and silence? Why? ABSOLUTELY. Silence is deafening to Vizzy, because it's in that stillness that her thoughts always wander ... memories return ... and EVERYTHING that she's running from has the opportunity to begin catching up to her. And that just won't do--not during waking hours, at least! Nope, there's always gotta be SOMETHING going on. Conversation, background noise, music (even if it's soft and quiet--just as long as there' being's SOMETHING playing). Only then is she not thinking about it. ANY of it. 30. Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why? Bee's Best brand hellhound food. Canned stuff preferably, she only likes the dry stuff (like the kibble or biscuits) as snacks or as toppings for the canned food. And if she had to pick just ONE flavor? Bacon Cheeseburger Mash. Her apartment pantries are FULL of this over-processed crap. But growing up poor raised by a single mother, it made up the bulk of her diet, so it's become a nostalgic comfort food now as an adult. That ... and if she isn't in the mood to go out to eat, she can't cook--so ... a gal's gotta eat!

Know My OC's Roots Meme 5. What did your OC think their life would be like when they grew up? Has it lived up to that expectation? Ironically? Yes! Even if she doesn't necessarily know it yet. What started as admiration for her father's seemingly glamorous badass lifestyle as a bounty hunter when she was a child eventually morphed into a cynical desire to surpass her sire and prove that she could become everything he was and MORE. However, just because she's changed career paths recently, doesn't mean she isn't still following in his footsteps... 10. What's the first significant injury your OC remembers getting? Did it leave any scars? This actually got mentioned over on THIS post, but her first major injury came from a brawl with a thorny devil based demon that was one of her earliest bounties. 13. Does your OC have any siblings? What was their relationship with their siblings growing up? If they were an only child, did they want siblings? Vizzy was, indeed, an only child. When she was little, there were definitely times where she wished she had at least one other sibling to play with--especially when she was left alone at home while her mom was working multiple jobs just to keep a roof over their head. But as she got older, and she and her mom grew closer, that breed of loneliness began to subside. That, and she already felt bad for how hard her mother had to struggle just to provide for the two of them, let alone if she had had more children than just Vizzy. Now, as an adult, it isn't really something she feels like she's missed out on, especially since she isn't as close and bonded to family as she used to be. Especially close friendships, however, end up feeling very much like having brothers or sisters and that has been more than enough in her world.

Know My OC's Roots Meme 1. How many living parents does your OC have? If they're alive, where are they now and what's your OC's relationship with them? If they're dead, how did they die? For better or for worse, both Vizzy's parents are still around. Her relationship with her mother is mostly good, if not a bit strained now and then (for instance, she's not thrilled that Viz got into the same line of work as her father). They just ... don't talk much. Hell, her mother doesn't even know about the whole Overlord thing yet, because they haven't spoken since Dhallia's death.

Her father, on the other hand, is a whole other can of worms. She has absolutely no memory of him whatsoever, because she was still only an infant when he abandoned them. It's left Vizzy with a lot of complicated emotions as she's grown up. As a child, she admired him and wanted to be 'just like him' when she grew up, her mother not having the heart to get into the details of him beyond what he did for a living. Young Vizzy never interpreted her dad not being around as something bad--just that he was busy being a badass and surely he'd come back eventually ... right? As she grew older, though, the reality of him not being around started to sink in, even though her mother still never had it in her to badmouth him in front of her daughter. Mom didn't have to say SHIT, though, she could see it--the way he ran off to have his own fun and adventures while his family spent their lives just barely scraping by. It INFURIATED Vizzy, and yet she still ended up following in his footsteps--not out of a sense of admiration, as she once had, but out of a desire to SURPASS him.

18. If your OC were to return to their childhood home now, what would that look like? How would they feel?

Know My OC's Roots Meme This is tricky to answer, because Vizzy's had a LOT of homes throughout her childhood. She and her mom moved frequently, between being unable to make rent many of times and her mom changing jobs (or taking extras) often. They even lived out of motel rooms together at several points in time. If she were to visit the last place she and her mother lived at together, though, it would be a run-down old apartment complex in the slums of Pentagram City. Room 307. Nowadays, it's still a shithole, but it's mostly been taken over by drug dealers using it as a base of operations. Graffiti covers most of the walls and there's even more trash than before, the entire complex falling into an abysmal state of disrepair. Seeing it again in this state would leave her with a hollow melancholy feeling, knowing the kind of life she only just narrowly avoided. She'd be reminded of the bitter resentment that still churns inside of her whenever she remembers the way her father left them to fend for themselves, struggling to survive amid the dregs of Hell society. She never knew him, but she knew OF him and hearing how he had this glorious life as a big-name bounty hunter for the rich and elite of Hell, living it up like a big-shot ... only for his family to end up getting by on scraps while he ran away from his responsibilities? She STILL seethes over it. And being face to face with one of the filthy places she used to call home would just make that flame burn hotter.

Uncommon Character Development Questions 5. What are their chief tension areas? Honestly, it depends on what she's been doing and how long (or aggressively) she's been doing it. But the most recurrent "problem areas" are usually neck and shoulders. 13. Have they ever been so overwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something? This is definitely another context-sensitive one. If it's related to confronting or dealing with her emotions (and/or unaddressed trauma), her tolerance is next to NONE and she'll get overwhelmed extremely easily. It's largely why she refuses to even deal with those things if she can help it--that low threshold is the one aspect of herself that makes her feel weak and soft ... something she refuses to accept that she CAN be. If it's literally ANYTHING else, she'll usually push herself to pretty much her breaking point, unless she either needs/wants to do something else. She's go-go-go. Places to be, things to do, feelings to distract from. She doesn't have TIME for stupid things like "breaks". She'll rest when she's dead (or when she feels like it anyway). 26. How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble? If she's sober/lucid enough, she'll get changed into something comfy to sleep in (usually just an oversized t-shirt and her underwear), brush her teeth, conk out--maybe doomscroll or text people on her phone for a short while til sleep takes over. If she is absolutely BLITZED outta her mind? Yeah, she's just gonna stagger through her door and pass out on the bed in whatever the hell she's wearing at the time--she'll deal with it tomorrow, along with the brutal hangover she's sure to have.

Uncommon Character Development Questions 12. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has. Easy! 1: The horns. Hellhounds do NOT normally have those without there being some ancestry with another species of hellborn that DOES have horns--Baphomet demon, in this case. 2: Normal hellhound eyes are red with a white iris, but Vizzy's are black with a metallic silver iris. This can further change into a vivid blue iris if she gets angry enough (or channels some of her energy towards shapeshifting closer to her empowered demon form). 3: And SPEAKING of shapeshifting ... that. Not a power most hellhounds possess either, buuut she got it from her dad. However, neither do Baphomet demons (which her father is) ... so why does HE have it and how did she inherit this...? 4: Pyromantic powers. Yep, as before, hellhounds don't usually do this. Several other species of hellborn demon do, Baphomets among them (due to the ever-burning candle horn atop their heads), which tracks with Vizzy's mixed heritage. 5: She's ambidextrous! No dominant writing hand, she's proficient with both. Literally the most 'normal' thing about her, all things considered.

Q: Relaxation: What does my muse do to relax? Do they find it easy to carve out time to relax? A: Honestly, the concept of genuine relaxation is extremely foreign to Visage. When she isn't on the go for work-related reasons, she's chasing highs practically non-stop (partying, sex, etc.) because it's the only thing that keeps her from having to think about and deal with all her trauma and pain. She lives a lot like a shark, in a sense--she has to stay moving or she'll die. When she "relaxes" at all, it's usually only with the aid of either sheer exhaustion or large quantities of strong alcohol. Q: Aches: Does my muse have any frequent aches? IE, muscle aches, joint aches? How do these affect them from day-to-day?  A: Being as frequently on-the-move as she is, with her rough and tumble lifestyle, Visage is no stranger to aches and pains from both injuries and general soreness. She usually just knocks back some painkillers and works right on through it, unless they're severe enough that she's FORCED to take it easy.

While she's never had any pets, herself, she's always kind to any strays she comes across by leaving them food, petting them (if they're comfortable being pet) and talking to them sweetly. While she treats them all with the same amount of compassion, there's no denying that canine-like animals are her soft spot. In her mind, hellborn creatures like those are among the only beings found in Hell that can wholly and truly be considered incapable of any true measure of evil. They do what the need to in order to survive and not a thing more--no malice, so self-righteousness, no manipulation. The only right thing to do, then, is to treat them kindly. Hell is already wicked enough--it doesn't need her contributing to make it worse.
