it's wild reading these articles and seeing these videos about like "ohh my smartphone is ruining my life I need a dumbphone" and it's like. why did you ever turn on notifications for grubhub. why did you download the arby's app. like I'm not saying "oh it's your fault your phone is like this" like it's definitely set up to be a predatory system but like. rip to you but I'm different I guess

#like when tiktok won't let me watch a tiktok without downloading the app #I don't download the app #I just don't watch the tiktok #like the new eddy burback video where he locks his phone away #and he had to go to staples to print stuff?#like I still own a printer #I use it at least once a month #I still own Several alarm clocks though we don't currently use them as such #I don't have notifications constantly interrupting me because basically the only thing with notifs on is text messages #and I just don't text people that much #when matt and arin get too noisy in the groupchat I just snooze it and read it later #idk man I guess I just found the happy medium and stayed there as everyone else dug deeper #I don't look at algorithmically chosen shit for more than a couple minutes a month #except maybe youtube #and that's mostly because I don't want to make my partner keep watching the same 10 video essays when he's home :v
