It was sooo hard to pick just five fics (just FIVE?? you're killing me here 😭) but I went with fics that are completed and that I've often gone back for rereads (yes I do read my own writing all the time haha)

1. you're a walking disaster and yet- (Patrochilles): Do I even need to say it at this point 😭 If someone's been following me for any length of time then they've probably already seen me screaming about this fic in some way, it's my baby, I adore it, I poured so much of my heart into it and I'm still not over it 💔

2. Twin Flames (Patrochilles): the royalty AU that I had been CRAVING for so long and that was such a blast to write. Prince Achilles + squire Patroclus + ungodly amounts of angst, pining, yearning, and of course a very happy ending.

3. Fall Into Your Tide (Patrochilles): another AU that I had been itching to write for very long and that I still think about often. Sailor Patroclus is caught in a terrible storm and is saved by merman Achilles before washing up on deserted island. The friendship and love that develops between them is so sweet. I love those two 💙

4. A Place to Be (Sheith): Veteran Shiro returns to his hometown a different man (white hair, scars, a prosthetic) and meets his highschool sweetheart Keith, whom he still has TONS of feelings for. I really loved writing this fic and I often go back to read it.

5. If The Stars Align (They Were Meant For Us) (Sheith): one of the first sheith fics I wrote and still one of my favourites, the angst + hurt/comfort combo hit aaaaall the right spots for me while I was writing, and the smut is maybe some of the hottest I've written LOL (if I may say so myself)

We need to bring back sheith scene redraws man…. New Shrio Loves You Baby redraws. People redrawing screen caps from The Black Paladins or Across The Universe….. All the soft looks that Shiro and Keith give each other….all celebrated by the fandom at once….even people writing meta and fics about such scenes……

Sheith fans are so passionate about their love for the ship (because Shiro and Keith are so passionate about each other) that I do think there could be enough excitement to bring people back for a fandom event like that.

The fandom suddenly gaining the same amount of activity it had while the show was airing would be very exciting to see again. Old and news fans coming together. To have people gushing about Sheith- talking about scenes and writing drabbles and drawings.

A moment of silence to pay respects for those of us TDP fans who thought Viren was secretly in love with King Harrow since Book One; myself included. Foolish was I.

Man said “I love you like a brother!” and just like that, the King Harrow x Viren ship has suck. Went down the same way Sheith did from Voltron: Legendary Defender.

At least, we still got Viren x Aaravos, right? It’s one-sided, but at least they have a “kid” together, right?

I dunno what floored me the most---the narrative taking my headcanons about Viren being in love with King Harrow out back and putting them to rest or high key confirming the ones I had about Viren x Aaravos which in my mind, was supposed to be a crack ship.

AND this is ALONGWITH the fact that they even included a little “family photo” of Viren, Aaravos and their Smeagle/Gollum love child in the credit illustrations.

I cannot with this show XD

And the fact that Aaravos is leaning into it too! He is so unapologetic with his teasing quips about his coupling with Viren and I love him for it.

From Viren’s little bug pal to his big bug baby daddy---he actually says this! Not exactly in the same words but the implication is there!

Janaya is STILL planning their wedding but Vaaravos over here having a "secret love child" plus a divorce/break/seperation everything everywhere all at once IN THE LAST EPISODE OF THE SEASON!!!!

What are your favorite ships in VLD?

Oh, Voltron! It gave me so many good ships... My first love is Shidge actually. I thought about them in post canon version (because of Pidge youth) or in some AU fics. I've got a bunch of them but in Russian. Never had enough time for translation.

Like this one — it's "War and Peace" AU that I wrote. This art was drawn by my good friend for me.

Then I fell in love with Lotura. It was almost obsession. You know cosmis elves should be happy together and have many cute babies, instead of what happened to them. Lotor's story break my heart every time I think about it. On ao3 there're many of fics I wrote for Lotura's sake.

Plance. Of course. Two dorks in love. Ah, their chemistry even in Voltron series was great. What a potential!

Kacxa. From the first episod I saw them together till the last I love their interaction and communication.

Also Kidge. Sometime i joke that Pidge is some kind of universal solgier, she's good in any ship. Again I thought about them in post canon. If I don't mistake I have smth for them in Eng. I participated in Kidge Zine 3.0: Timeless. But I haven't posted my piece anywhere. Sorry.

My first fic "Stop thinking" was inspired by an amazing artisit fate221 and her comic on Insta. I tried my best to put all passion she drew to the words.

These ships are my fav. I wrote for them, even tried to draw and I transleted fics from Eng to Rus for readers in my country. As you may see they're all m/f ships and I don't especially interested in m/m ships. One time I even felt annoyance about some of them, but... Then I met an amazing Sheith authors, Klance artists... I even translated huge oneshot for Klance and this was so good story and wrote some Sheith fics. Well, I absolutly fine with any ship until their fans push me for loving their ships over mine favourite. As I fully respect other people feelings and preferences, I never told anybody who they should or shouldn't ship.

I hope I didn't dissappoint you by my answer. In Russia we say "For taste and color there is no friend" which means that we all different and we all have a right to have different opinions.

2. I TRY NOT TO OUTLINE SO RIGIDLY THAT I DON'T HAVE ROOM FOR MOMENTS LIKE THIS BECAUSE TBH I THINK IT ALWAYS KINDA HAPPENS TO ME??? Something about how my ideas can be kinda of like nebulous but then once it's starting to take form on the page and I see how it ACTUALLY LOOKS vs what my idea was, sometimes the pieces start moving differently.

A specific example (Sheith example sorry but it's the most flagrant one I can think of LOL!) In chapter 9 of Tonight the Stars Revolt! I wanted to write out the canon scene of Keith's BOM trial (FOR YOU NON-SHEITHS BASICALLY IT'S LIKE A FUCKIN GAUNTLET FIGHT TO THE DEATH SEEING HOW LONG BEFORE HE GETS KILLED OR FIGURES OUT A WAY THROUGH THEIR MAZE LOL) and I wanted it to be bookended by smut scenes so that we'd see like how this event changes Keith and the way he needs intimacy? And like YOU KNOW ME I love angst & whump lol. But I had written out the bullet points of how I wanted the trial & post-trial smut to go but then when I was actually writing it like so many details and feelings came out in the moment once I was immersed that I decided to pull back and actually ease up on the whump because I realized that like, the IDEA of the whump was fun but then writing it out was making it sort of gratuitous and like TOO MUCH!! Where it wasn't serving the story anymore and like tbh I felt like I was pushing Keith TOO HARD where it wouldn't be realistic for him to even recover!!!!!!!!!!!

So I know at one point I had gone back and like deleted 3k or something to rewrite because Keith was like, LISTEN IM DONE YOU CANT GET KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS !!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry bud. lol.

41. BABY IDK ALL MY IDEAS GET VERY WEIRD. In 2017 writing The Lotus Eater I thought it was so weird for Daniel to get high via Blood Suppository and then in 2023 in Gallows Bird I felt like it was very weird that Armand got hammered via Wine Enema ? OR LIKE IDK Swampstat/Antoine dead dove? Or Victurri corpsefucking with EMBALMING FLUID AS LUBE???? I do often have WEIRD WEIRD ideas but like being realistic about what I have time to write I don't usually prioritize those things because I know my time is limited and I'd rather focus on things I can weave into more meaningful stories and sometimes the weird ideas don't come with a clear enough path on how to make them meaningful and worth my own time.

Have some headcanons for this very specific AU that absolutely no one asked for:

All of their names are nicknames that they go by, none of these ladies use their actual names

Keith's name is Akira Kogane, but she started to be called Keith as a joke from the other firefighters in her dad's department, but it kinda just stuck and she secretly liked having a special nickname from the firefighters anyway, even if it was a traditionally male name

Shiro's name is Tatsuo Shirogane, but she and her family are originally from Japan and during kindergarten in America her classmates began to call her Shiro since her name was hard for them to pronounce

Lance's name is Alejandra McClain, but got her nickname from her family when she was younger and always wanted to play soldier or guard. Veronica was the first one to use it and then everyone else started using it, too, and Lance absolutely loved it

Hunk's name is Halia Garrett, and her nickname came from, well, almost everyone. She's always been curvy, but the added on muscles she has gave her her nickname in late middle school

Keith and Lance are adoptive sisters in this AU, where Keith joined the McClain family at 16 after being in foster care since she was 8. Originally, she was there temporarily, but the McClain's adopted her a few months after she'd been in their care

Their one-sided rivalry started in middle school but only got worse after Keith moved in, but settled down after she was adopted and the two actually became friends, but in a I'm-not-going-to-acknowledge-that-I-care-about-you-outloud-but-will-always-protect-you kinda way

Lance teeses Keith about her crush on Shiro, and Keith teeses Lance about her crush on Hunk, and this almost always ends with the closest inanimate object being hurled at each other

Pidge is also cis swapped in this and he and Coran are the only two men on the Castleship and Lord help them, they are terrified

Keith and Acxa are twins, with Acxa being older by about seven minutes. Keith never knew she had a sister, let alone a twin, until she was stranded on a space whale with her long lost mother

Thace and Ulaz are mates, and Regris is their kid. Regris is about five years older than Keith and Acxa, and is their only cousin, as Thace is Krolia's little brother

Kolivan and Antok are in a queer platonic relationship, as Antok is aroace and Kolivan is pan and polyamorus. Kolivan and Krolia end up together and very much in love, eventually getting married

Speaking of, Keith is a lesbian, Shiro is a lesbian, Lance is bi, and Hunk is pan

Hunk as always been a phenomenal baker, as baking is a science, but cooking was something she had to grow into as it's more of an art. With time, practice, and a lot of encouragement from her moms, she became a master chef by the time she was fourteen

The shell on Lance's bracelet was the last shell she grabbed from the beach before her family left Cuba when she was fourteen and moved to the United States for her father's work. She wears that bracelet all of the time, feeling a sense of peace whenever she touches the shell when she's anxious or depressed

Shiro has an older sister named Mayumi, and the two are very close. Their whole family is close, actually, and their parents support both girls when Mayumi comes out as trans and Shiro comes out as a lesbian

Hunk and Lance have been best friends since their freshman year of high school. The two get into a lot of mischief together thanks to Lance, but almost always avoid actually getting into trouble thanks to Hunk

Pidge joined their group when they entered the Garrison and his first thought was "These girls are gonna get me into so much trouble." His second thought was "Lance is crushing so hard, how does Hunk not know??"

Allura absolutely loves to have Girls Nights with the Paladins, where they all get together in her room and have a giant sleepover, complete with blanket forts, unhealthy snacks, teasing, and so much nail painting that Keith is pretty sure she's gotten high on more than one occasion

While Allura is fascinated by Keith and Lance's sisterly relationship, Shiro and Hunk are simply Tired Of The Bickering

Keith is 18; Shiro is 21; Lance is 17; Hunk is 17; Pidge is 16

Shiro and Keith have been best friends since Keith stole Shiro's car and the older bailed her out of Juvie. They got very close while at the Garrison, and Shiro gave Keith her dogtags before leaving for Kerberos. She carries them with her at the bottom of the bags on her hip. There was an unspoken understanding between them that they loved each other, that they wanted to always be together and they cared about each other more than anything, but the time was never right

Shiro and Keith finally start dating while in space after realizing that love doesn't wait for the right time and there's no time like the preasent to let yourself be happy, but Hunk and Lance don't start dating until they get home to Earth because they are, somehow, more awkward about their feelings than Shiro and Keith

Eventually Krolia and Kolivan have a son together and name him Yorak and Keith absolutely adores her baby brother and Shiro absolutely adores seeing Keith with a baby
