#you can tell I was a little split on how to handle her hair#I wanted her bangs to imitate Gerald/Ivo's mustaches!#maybe the wave is too strong but 1.) in my head Maria has crunchy textured gamecube SAB2 hair w/ waves to it and#2.) I thought it looked more 'evil scientist'-esque#I'm actually not done with this idea!#this turned out to be more of a design exercise#but I think it'd be rly fun to explore a villainous grown up Maria from an AU/canon divergent angle#(if Shadow died on the ARK while she lived)#b/c I do think her demeanor/motives would differ tremendously vs. her as just a female Eggman yk#sonic the hedgehog#maria robotnik#dr eggman#(if sonic prime had vision there would've been a Dr. Maria Robotnik sitting on the chaos council I'm just saying)#(like I get why they didn't for writing reasons but c'mon)#(that's where the potential/appeal lies in multiverse plots to me)#my art#it feels so good to post smth again#v amusing that it's sonic fanart after so long tho LMAO
