This sport is in my name, my blood, and I have spent years surrounded by it, yet I could never bring myself to get so close out of fear it would bring up memories I don't even have. I lost my father before I was even born, and I have carried that sadness with me for so long. I'm going to be real- I kind of hate this part of tagging culture. I acquiesce to it, but I think it's really, really bad for fandom as a whole. It's part of an overall generalized inability for people to ever, ever, ever encounter or think about criticism (or even anything that's not strictly 1000000% positive).

That's... not a good thing. I'm being incredibly serious when I say that people need to get comfortable with encountering different perspectives from their own. It might even be good to occasionally think about them, but at the very least, being able to scroll past them without imploding is a really good skill to develop.

It has also led to people charging into my inbox yelling at me because they saw my post "in the tags" when I did not, in fact, tag anything at all. But because I didn't star out anything even remotely identifiable and searchable in my post, it was my fault that they had to *clutches pearls* see something mildly negative about a thing they liked (that I also actually like myself- I wouldn't have characterized it as hate in the slightest- but they sure did, because it was something other than uncomplicated, effusive praise).

So now, if I ever want to have a nuanced discussion about anything ever (or even just make an offhanded remark), I feel that I have to meticulously star out anything that might be identifiable. But this accomplishes 3 separate, kind of shitty things:

- prevents people who want to filter that topic from being able to do so

- prevents people who might be interested in that discussion from possibly being able to find it

- creates confusion in anyone who might be reading my blog without enough context to know what I'm talking about

I'm even seeing, in the notes, people talking about how tagging hate is a bad idea because it might "expose you to toxic fans" of the thing you're tagging. But... why is that being stated like their behavior is your fault? It's a reality, sure. See above steps I feel a need to take to protect myself from it. But why are we casually including this as an addendum to it being the Expected Etiquette instead of a manifestation of awful behavior backed up by extreme entitlement? The same general sort of entitlement that makes people so resistant to curating their own experiences, so given to policing how people utilize *checks notes* a public tagging system that doubles as organization and contextualization for their own blog?

(And that's another thing. We all know how dogshit search is. Tags are all you have to reliably be able to navigate your own blog. And like... forgive me if I don't want to try and memorize 3 million alternate tagging systems. I have memory problems and brain fog. I'm not doing that.)

Again, I get the culture. I bend to it. It is what it is. There are also situations where it feels comparatively justified (with characters that tend to get hit with racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, etc. or just overall really divisive fandoms that attract a lot of Takes). It gets exhausting, I know. But for the former to be The Reason this culture exists would also kinda suggest that fandom as a whole, in the mainstream, is genuinely concerned with those things... and by and large, it's not. Anyone who's like honest with themselves knows that these are all entrenched problems that often go without much complaint outside of groups they directly affect. This culture in and of itself can be used to crowd people out of being able to discuss issues in a way that actually gets it in front of everyone else's eyes.

So yeah. Ultimately, I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I'm not gonna poke any ant hills. But I do wish people would consider the ramifications of things like this and the ways it can cut off genuine discussion and expression just a little more.

Another fantastic estate sale!! I spent less money than last time, thankfully, and got better fabric.

Over 10 metres of cotton velveteen for fantastically cheap. They really rounded down on some of these labels too, one of them is 80 cm more than marked, and another is 50 cm more.

Two dollar hand embroidered Intriguing Mystery Bundle that felt like very crisp silk.

And upon unrolling it I burn tested a loose thread from the edge and is is indeed 100% silk, and is someone's very old unfinished project! The embroidery is all done but it was never sewn up into a garment. Looks like pieces for a chest and... cuffs probably? And a couple other little motifs for something else?

There's a name written on top but no lines traced out, so I'm not sure. Presumably some kind of blouse?

A brass & rhinestone buckle - not very sturdy or high quality but pretty old, and I have had fancy buckles on the mind lately. And gimp cord! So much vintage gimp cord!! Rayon wrapped around a cotton core. I would like to try using it for frogging someday.

Also a couple things of silk twist, and one wad of sturdy pink linen yarn. Look at the moss green silk twist, ooooh. I could get a set of waistcoat buttonholes out of that as long as it wasn't a super early waistcoat with too many.

But! The most interesting thing I found was a goddamn CALASH!

NOT an original 18th century one mind you, it has some machine stitching, but still very old! I'm sure it must be at least 100. The Victorians did love wearing 18th century costumes to fancy dress parties, and made a lot of them themselves when they didn't have extant ones from the previous century to ruin.

It's made of what I think is a fine, crisp, sturdy linen.

The channels are machine stitched (with atrociously uneven tension) and the rest of it is by hand.

It's got a nice double ruffle around the neck and the front, very much like the ones on a lot of the 18th century calash bonnets it was presumably copying, but a different shape from any of the ones I've seen.

The hoops are cane, there's a bit of piping in between the 2 rows of ruffle along the front edge, and the hems of the ruffle are corded. The fabric also has solid selvedges which are whipstitched together in a few places where the fabric is pieced.

The wildest thing about this is it was in the free junk pile! It cost me zero dollars and zero cents!!! I guess being so drab and dirty looking nobody paid it much attention, but still, amazing considering it's obviously very old and all still in one piece.

I'll have to take more pictures sometime and do a blog post on it, and maybe possibly try to wash it with ph neutral soap. Must ask the Museum Friends. (Edit: Ok she says no don't wash it)

Edit: OH also I forgot to mention that somewhere in there was this note that fell on the floor when I got home.

It's addressed to the artist whose house this was, apparently from someone who gave her some antique pieces of clothing.

tonight's topic is: applying a fanfic trope to a character totally unsuited for it, and then persuading y'all to buy it

the trope: hanahaki disease! for the uninitiated: it's a fictional disease where someone whose love is unrequited or unconfessed starts growing flowers in their lungs and coughing them up. It's a metaphor for How Beautiful Love Is Yet How Painful When Unfulfilled.

i feel like that kind of bullshit would happen to aku.

not even because it's unrequited. i just think that's how his body would react to falling in love.

(yes this post is an excuse to draw an extremely pretty, miserable aku. please look at my flowers i worked so hard. now here's the part of the post where I talk y'all into agreeing with this headcanon.)

(side note that's irrelevant to the rest of this post: tbh I personally don't like the spin where hanahaki disease is due to UNREQUITED love. that makes it, like, the OTHER PERSON'S fault they're sick. "You've gotta reciprocate their crush or they'll DIE."

I prefer it when the flower barf is due to denied love—bury it deep inside but don't move on, refuse to confess yet refuse to let it go, hope the flowers & truth won't burst from your mouth in front of the person you're trying hardest to hide it from. yeah, some may hide their feelings because they're unrequited, but that isn't what twists love into a disease: it's the act of swallowing it down.)

but that's neither here nor there!

Usually, I'm in the Love Is Not Good, It's Morally Neutral camp; but just this once for the sake of having fun with this headcanon we'll say love is Inherently Good, okay?

Aku is two things: 1) a tree, and 2) ontologically evil.

Being evil, and playing in a universe where we've decided for a minute that Love Is Good, love doesn't come naturally/easily to him. like, he can feel it—but it hurts. He was not meant for this, it's unnatural to him. having love inside him is like a cancer—it's something malignant that grew out of control, far larger than it was supposed to, taking over the body.

And being a tree—well... flowers are trees' reproductive organs.

So he falls in love and suddenly he's coughing up flower-covered vines and keeps having to yank them out. Like Hexxus sprouting plants.

Tumorous blossoms in direct proportion to this cancerous emotion. The more the flowers grow the more the vines wriggle into his mind, twisting his thoughts, poisoning him with deeper infatuation, making it harder and harder to focus on anything but whoever he's obsessed with. The deeper he's dragged down into love the more flowers bloom out of him. It's a vicious cycle.

And now he's gotta hide it, and avoid the hell out of whoever he's crushing on. Because he can't let people know he's ill & weakened. And he DEFINITELY can't let his beloved know because if they find out he's in love, and reciprocate... Well, for a normal character with normal hanahaki disease, the beloved finding out and/or reciprocating would be the cure. For something that shouldn't be in love in the first place, reciprocation would make things much, much worse.

... but wouldn't it be wonderful? (cue the sound of hacking up half a rose bush) sorry, that was the flowers speaking.

Every once in a while my acearo ass wants a "but what if love itself is the horror story?" idea and this is one of 'em.

but I doubt I'll actually write anything with this, because as I conceive of it, there's only a few ways it can end:

Good (Boring) Ending: Aku's health is restored because he falls OUT of love; might involve actual magic to kill his emotions, might involve shoving his loved one away.

Neutral Ending: Aku stays in love and just keeps getting worse and even if it doesn't kill him now he's miserable all the time, so like, nothing really changes. There are better avenues to explore "but what if we gave the villain a chronic disease?" than fucking hanahaki of all things.

Fluffy Bad Ending: the disease—or else some magic meant to accommodate the disease—transforms Aku into something (probably something "good") that CAN handle love. And that might be the sweet happily-ever-after ending but I consider it a bad ending because Aku being evil is the point, and he doesn't want to be good, and if the power of love turns him good/if he's forced to change who he is for love… well, I just don't enjoy that unless it's presented as a bad end. Even if it's "but it turned a villain good!" Especially if it's "but it turned a villain good," because I'm not too keen on "forcing somebody to change their fundamental nature is a good thing as long as it's for the right reasons."

Sexy Bad Ending: the vines fully take over Aku's brain and resculpt his mind to get what they want and like,, whoever he is he's not really Aku anymore; but now instead of trying to shove his loved one away to protect himself he's ALL OVER them with the desperation of a starving wolf on a dead deer, sooo I guess the two of them are something like 'happy' now?? Assuming the beloved is interested in this new ravenously besotted Aku-shaped creature that's replaced the real/original Aku?? this is probably the ending for people into hypno but it ends with you not really having Aku as a character anymore.

I don't currently feel like writing a brainwashing bad end—interesting to think about, but not enough to commit that much time & words to—and the other two endings aren't terribly interesting. So I'm not planning to do anything with this idea.

Except make you think about it, too.

i wanna say something without starting a fight with bylers, i just want to point it out and have a mature talk if possible, I'm open to hear your thoughts about it, here's mine:

You guys always say that "if byler doesn't happen then they have a lot of explaining to do" and i think that's valid bc byler fandom is not small- it's huge. But what about mileven? you think there's no explanation needed if byler happens ? maybe not for you (same like milevens won't need an explanation if mileven is endgame) but definitely for others because the straightbait would be insane

look at this, I'll start from s4

• mike makes a whole monologue, saying directly to El that he loves her multiple times, also adds that he can't lose her (Finn changed it himself, the script says "I'm not ready to lose you" and not i can't ) and that he doesn't know how to live without her, also adding that he loves her since the moment he saw her.

I understand that bylers already assumed he lied, for you it's all clear, but it's not clear for milevens because we believe he was being honest and we have every right to do that- it looked like he's speaking from his heart, it was hinted before the st4 premiere that there will be a monologue, Finn said he was really excited about it, the monologue actually worked like Kate Bush for max and El saved herself and max thanks to it while almost killing vecna.

• Ross Duffer was posting some photos in the process of shooting st5, showing us the actors and some places & stuff. January 19 2024, with the caption "week 2" he posted Finn as mike wheeler and in the same post we have Finn and Millie, from the place where the rooftop scene was being filmed. It was not the first post about the production, before that we also got Dustin & another post the pictures from day 1, BUT the post from Jan 19 with mileven is the first post from production that reveals any of the ships (canon or not). later we also got lumax and jancy (canon ships just like mileven) but for some reason byler was not posted, which is (for me at least?) hinting mileven more than byler for an endgame ship.

• What the actors were saying i think also matters, of course we could argue here for yearsss about who's saying what, and i also consider the fact that they don't have to be honest with us (although i believe they are) and i know Noah is speaking about byler constantly which is hinting it, but also Finn declared that he prefers mileven (he was asked if he prefers mileven or byler because he's playing the character that appears in both ships) + David (hopper in st) spoken negatively about the chances of byler becoming canon. I'm not saying that it means something of course, what I'm trying to say is that i felt assured about mileven endgame by that more than byler endgame. I'd use some explanation if mileven is not endgame

• El is still wearing the promise ring from s4 she got from mike + she's wearing Mike's hoodie in s5 she also started wearing back in the end of s4. Would she do that if they were not together anymore? I'm not sure, it's confusing

• First official poster for st5: mileven on the bike together like back in s1. It's definitely on purpose because the poster could be anything, also she could get her own bike bc "she learned how to ride a bike back in cali" or whatever ,and even if not, then putting her with Mike on the same bike if byler is endgame is a big straighbait thing for me. Also the fact that "mike is looking at will" doesn't really trigger anything for me? they're riding bikes, will is in front of him so yeah if he's looking front while riding a bike like everyone else (beside El but she's not riding it herself) then he'll be looking at Will. If that's a proof for byler, then lucas looking at mike and El will mean he's in love with one of them? kinda delusional if you ask me

• official trailer for s5: two mileven scenes. One of them is tender and intimate, they're sitting close to each other, keeping eye contact, mike is holding El's hand with his both hands. El is using her free hand to caress his unbruised cheek, they're creating a heart shape with their arms. It also shows Mike's face closely while he's looking at her, for me with worry love and care, definitely not with platonic feelings. Another mileven scene is the one where lucas and mike are going somewhere on the bikes, getting away from the radio station while El is standing there, watching them leave. You could say it's nothing if you don't know how important that is for mileven, because in season 2, season 3 and season 4 we have mike who's standing and looking at El who's going away. It's the same thing but reversed. also Will could be there as well, watching them leave but he's not, it's just her, for me it means a lot.

And what about byler in the trailer? we got 2 scenes of them together if i remember correctly, while it's never an intimate scene, there's always at least +1 other character. Also we already saw these two scenes before, it's nothing new for us. I wonder why? i know you'll say it's because they can't spoil anything...but it's literally a trailer? it should show what st5 is about. If byler is one of the main things in there, then it definitely should be in the trailer, and it wouldn't be a spoiler, because mike and will are best friends, it's not suspicious that they're spending time together ESPECIALLY bc Will is canonically in love with mike and it still needs to be addressed because we're waiting for his coming out.

• also if the mileven scene from the trailer is the breakup/post breakup scene...then what about the rooftop one? suddenly every st5 mileven scene is a breakup scene?

since this is the third month of work, perhaps this version can be called "outside the shell", because here I will touch on the fact that Gordon is primarily a soul, not a corpse shell.

the "true form" can only exist if an SP or MSP is functioning in a certain radius. and yes, this form can exist and function without a body, but this does not make Save free of it.

I mean, if, for example, Save's body was destroyed near SP and/or MSP, the "true form" will remain. and yes, if desired, Gordon can regain his lost body by simply moving to the MSP, because the ability to move and other related abilities remain.

and Gordon will probably want to get their body back, because they don't have a high pain threshold in this form. annnnd they cant consume snacks in this form.

but on the other hand, their magical abilities increase quite well. and yes, the knight that looks suspiciously similar to something else in the upper right corner is one of the things that Gordon will be able to do in this form. because hey, they still need to protect the MSP! well, I'll think about the appearance of armor for a bit.

so, what do we get?

+ if the body is destroyed near to the SP and/or MSP, Gordon's soul will remain in that place as a true form. (to get the body back, Gordon will have to return to MSP.)

+ more magic power.

+ free flying! (welp, it's soul after all.)

+ easier to dodge. (maybe.)

- if the soul is outside the SP and/or MSP zone, the soul becomes a natural heart-shaped form, and is deprived of magical abilities.

- no high pain threshold. (like less protection?..)

- can't use items.

- can't make ESP.

- actually have no inventory.

It's mostly assumed that whatever the prophecy is, the mayor/knight/kris team-up wants to DIVERT certain prophesied events away from it. I agree here -> mostly because of Kris.

We can truly deduce a lot by what Kris does/tries to do. Manyyy people theorize that the reason Carol wants Susie to take either noelle's or dess' place in the prophecy, so that her daughters don't get sacrificed. And yet I really really can't imagine Kris signing up for that. It's the same for the toriel sacrifice aspect. Like obviously Kris wouldn't want their mom to be sacrificed - they managed to lure undyne in toriels place. And yet... why would Carol EVER assume that Kris would be okay with sacrificing Toriel in the first place?? Wouldn't she suspect that maybe this teenager WOULD attempt to work against harming their own mom? And if the original plan was to sacrifice specifically toriel, why is it suddenly okay for the plan if the sacrifice is undyne?? Why not just sacrifice someone else?? Why Kris' mom?

(its a bit of a long and rambly post so i'll put a read more here)

Basically we have two options here: the 'sacrifice' is dangerous, but not quit what we think it is OR that the original plan all along was to sacrifice undyne, thus in preparing for the police night visit Kris wasn't actually going against carols plan (but if that were true, then why would the RK attempt to take toriel? Is the RK not 100% able to communicate? i think so for now..).

Besides Carol and Co.'s plan, we also have another possible interpretation of the prophecy - snowgrave. I don't think that the weird route is actually what the prophecy is about though. 'The forbidden path starts with ice magic' is my first piece of evidence - while this is just one line of text, it still fits in with the whole glitch/game mystery vibes of the route, and i just dont think that kinda 'forbidden' or glitchy path would be the main content of the prophecy. The other piece of the puzzle that i just dont think that fits would be the human cage role. We can assume (for now at least) that with the 'interrupted' nature of the goner maker sequence that the original human cage was going to be the vessel, i just dont think that a snowgrave route, where control is bestowed from the human to the girl through such emotionally close methods, is feasible in a situation with the vessel.

(im going to be calling the various plans and interpretations of the prophecy as paths)

so we have the true path (whatever the prophecy really is), the Knights path (Carol and co) and the angels path (the angel, us, gaining control over noelle, who is already heavily associated with angel imagery) for now.. But what about us? and the person who gave us access here? Which path does gaster want to take?? Whatever he wants, whether its to follow the prophecy (which i slightly doubt) or to push his own ideas into the story, the sheer fact that this outside of the world character is doing something thats ordained by the prophecy.. is weird? but i can still believe it, since technically the angel is also outside of the world of deltarune (us).

so to cap it all off this is what i think:

Carol and Co are attempting to change only part of the prophecy through the knights path, and to ensure they have enough control to make it happen, theyre attempting to fulfill the rest of it to a T (also asgore is just there imo, i dont think carol would tell him the part of the plan that includes kris). The 'changed' part isnt actually changed, its just a different interpretation of it

snowgrave, the angels path, is (for now) completely accidental, but it also follows the prophecy

gaster.. for now i think he has his own agenda thats not purely written in stone (like maybe he is curious about how this will end up, or he wants to see how far the darkness goes for his own sake?), and it attempting to have SOME control over the events in deltarune, but not full control.. i dont think he wants the prophecy to be followed either, but there is absolutely nothing concrete i can back this up with lol

if friend_image is going to be an important part of the story and they have their own agenda, i would legit just call their plans the devils path or some shit idk.. The thing is for now friend also feels like a being outside from outside this world, looking in, exerting some form of control over certain aspects. neither they nor gaster feel malicious or evil to me, but then they would basically fill a similar role to each other, and i just cant imagine that being super interesting from a storytelling perspective. so i wonder which one we are wrong about..

Anyways i took this post too far lol. My main point is that when you look at it, either way the prophecy gets fulfilled, despite the fact that the outcome and the way that the characters go about it is very different. alvin says in ch4 that many parts of the prophecy is lost to time, but its not only that - its so incredibly vague. Its inspired stories, that have inspired other stories and etc. the prophecy in a way is alive and every interpretation of it changes it itself!! looking at the themes of deltarune im 100% sure it will never be confirmed what the 'actual' prophecy is. we will only know for sure what other characters (like carol etc) interpretations are.

all of the characters and their arcs have been focused on decision, will and freedom. the end of it all won't just be whatever the prophecy says the end will be - the true and only ending will be REJECTING even just the idea of a prophecy

...Okay real talk though, I looked up the lyrics to this song recently, and found some extremely Opportunist-coded lines in there:

And so inevitably I started looking at this song from Opportunist's perspective. And then:

...I'm the resident Skeptunist guy, of course that's the first thing that my mind jumped to (/lh), but the reason why I'm making this post is because of that last line: "Your straightforwardness is too dazzling to bear".

[This got very long and rambly, I'm putting the rest under the cut. Also it's not really a song ramble anymore, this is just headcanons zone /silly]

And this line made me realize that, in my post-Construct where the voices gain their own bodies and learn how to live in relative safety and mundanity, Opportunist would admire how blunt and straight-forward Skeptic is. Opportunist is someone who always lies and schemes and distrusts people, something he struggles with even when he is safe, when he is surrounded by his own flock, he cannot help himself but lie and suck up to people, rarely giving himself room to be genuine. And then he sees Skeptic, someone who just speaks his mind and seemingly never hides anything, but in a way that doesn't make him feel "naive" or like "an open book". Opportunist can't help but wonder (and also be a little jealous of) how Skeptic does it, so seemingly effortlessly too, and he wishes he could do the same:

I wonder how you live As your self I am me because I can't be you

...but what if! What if Opportunist learned that Skeptic is an open book, in a weird way, that Skeptic does just speak his mind... it's just that said mind is putting everything through a heavy filter, immediately disregarding "irrelevant" information. Skeptic is observant, but he is also quick to dismiss things he doesn't think are useful, heedless and dense at times. Something that Opportunist would have learned when they spend time together, noticing that Skeptic very rarely pays attention to "small, inconsequential" things, especially more fun, relaxing things, as though his mind doesn't give him permission to do so... and Opportunist find it kind of sad.

And that's why I love the idea of Opportunist trying to get Skeptic to take breaks, to do more "pointless" things, to see places or do random things, and to have fun, in hopes of letting Skeptic open up his mind more. It's what I wrote as a setup for one of my Skeptunist fics. Skeptic isn't very receptive at first, of course, but over time, it does actually help him. He grows. They grow. They heal.

I'm rambling!!! But this is why I love them so much!!! Opportunist is a trickster rat who hides behind 17 different masks, afraid to be weak and alone, convinced that he has to be evil and wicked to protect himself. So who is a better person to see right through all those masks and carefully peel off all those layers of facade than an inquisitive guy who is literally known for investigating things and figuring out people, too?

Meanwhile Skeptic is a logical person who often tunnelvisions and gets stuck in his own head repeatedly over and over again. So who is a better person to expand his horizons and get him to see beyond his perspective than a guy whose thing is all about constantly weighing different options and always looking out for a best option for himself?

...after all, if Skeptic can be there for Opportunist and reassure him that he can change and doesn't have to be a betrayer and backstabber "forever, for the rest of [his] life," then maybe Opportunist can be there for Skeptic, too.

The mischaracterization of the maknae line

(this post isn't long like my usual ones, so it's not extremely developed, but I touched on the things I mainly wanted to say, so I'm ok with it, maybe I'll do a bigger one another time)

I feel like a lot of the problem with people's perceptions of Jimin and Jungkook's relationship, Jimin and Tae's relationship and Tae and Jungkook's relationship is that...

1. They overdramatize everything like a telenovela/soap opera.

"Oh look this micro facial expression says he hates him!"

"They touched for 2 secs, he did that to tell us they're doing fine and still strong as ever"

2. They think they understand how korean culture works, but it's a heavily stereotyped view, specially regarding queer people.

"He said this so they can't possibly be something/He said this so they're definitely something"

"He did or didn't do this so they can't possibly be something/He did or didn't do this so they're definitely something"

3. They magnify interactions and words like a romance book (there's a difference between 1 e 3).

"They went out together, it's a date"

"He touched his head/hand, he can't help himself"

4. And also, it feels like they either haven't known BTS long enough/didn't consume their older content pre 2020, or it just falls back into 1/2/3.

(Or 5). They just turn a blind eye because they're not really fans of the group, just ot6 or solos, which could also fall back into 1/2/3/4.

A lot of 1, 2 and 3 I blame on theory channels. Not only taekooklives, which is infamous, but any type. I won't say I didn't consume this type of content before, because it'd be a lie. And I don't even think it's something extremely problematic. The problem comes when people only cosume that. When they only ever watch these videos, which contains chopped videos, out of context situations, out of context words, overdramatized analysis of facial expressions with low quality footage and etc., to form opinions on their bond, and take what they say as the absolute truth.

Specially since a lot of these take advantaged that the common person won't know korean or is a new fan that also don't properly understand korean culture.

I have been a fan for a very long time, and I understand that the amount of BTS content today is stupidly bigger than when I became a fan, which makes catching up to everything extremely hard, and maybe even undoable unless you were there in their first years like I was. The problem in this case is not that these people can't watch everything, but that they don't bother to watch anything pre 2018/2019 besides maybe live performances, MVs and RunBTS episodes. BTS is maybe the first artist to have documented their WHOLE career even before they debuted. There's so much content I think even I probably haven't seen everything even from that time. But there's so much different types of content! And they don't bother to watch anything else! They are not interested in their logs, their older bangtanbombs besides iconics ones like the hide and seek one, the Bangtan Gayo, their Weekly Idol episodes, their Running Man episodes, their Rookie King episodes, even fckass AHL... There's a MOUNTAIN of solo, sub unit and group content from that time. And people simply. Do. Not. Watch. Because people can't convince me they wholeheartedly think Taehyung hates Jimin, or Jungkook hates Jimin, or Jimin uses Taehyung and Jungkook, or Jungkook are Taehyung are not close, and they have watched (most) everything.

That's why when, for example, things like "Jimin flinched when Jungkook touched his neck" happen and people say "Oh he doesn't like when Jungkook touches him", I just know these people are simply not really fans or don't know them properly. Because anyone that is or does, would know that Jimin has chronicle neck pain. And that Jungkook gives him neck massages for YEARS now.

"Jungkook and Tae almost didn't talk during the live", neither of them are extroverted people, they are not yappers! Taehyung used to be extroverted 500 years ago, he's not anymore. He makes friends easily, he doesn't express emotions in an extroverted way, these are not the same thing. Jungkook only ever talks nonstop about something he's hyperfixating on or if he's truly engrossed in a discussion, otherwise he'll be silent/quiet. And that's not a rule! That's his "usual" behavior, meaning: he usually behaves like this, but not 100% all of the time. He talks a lot with Jimin because they're extremely close, maybe the closest duo in BTS today, that's just the truth, and Jimin is always engaging him in topics he likes talking about. Him not talking is not him not being close to Taehyung, is just him behaving like he usually behaves. Taehyung not talking is the same.

People either don't understand how they used to behave and how it developed to how they behave today, or they just completely forget that people grow up. To this day there are people that completely deny that for some time Jungkook and Taehyung drifted away a bit, because as they grew up, their interests and behavior developed differently, and now they understand their dynamic changed and are close again, although differently than before, when they themselves had such a deep and personal conversation about it! It's maddening! They can't have real bonds, real relationships like normal people because these people (in 1/2/3/4/5) don't see them as real people!

Jimin and Jungkook can't possibly be extremely close, because in 2014 Jimin asked to travel with him and Jungkook said no (let's forget the amount of times they've traveled together since then). A lot of these people seem to have discovered BTS during or after the pandemic and just have no idea how they used to behave together as a group before that, because Jimin and Jungkook have also been an inseparable duo since 2015, but they think they only got close like this after their military service (???????).

And I won't even bother talking about people that think Taehyung and Jimin are not close, or have beef with each other, because that's just hilarious. Completely mental, like, asylum mentality.

I truly don't care about shipping, because even I do it myself, but it's so fucking tiring hearing this discourse every single day about how one of them is trying to sabotage the other, or hates the other, or is not really close to the other. ALL OF THE BTS MEMBERS ARE BEST FRIENDS. There are bonds there that are closer than others, it doesn't mean that the others aren't close, how's that difficult to understand.

I've watched these 3 boys grow up to the men they are today, and it just passes the point of being ridiculous to straight up SAD that people that pretend to know them would say things about their characters and bonds so untrue to whom they are. I'm not saying, also, that I drink afternoon tea with them and know them personally, but when it comes to their public personas and pattern of behavior it would be impossible for me not to know them by now.

And I won't even touch on the whole fanservice bullshit, because that, for me, is just comedy now. Do y'all want to know what type of fanservice BTS does today? They take their shirts off, they sing about sex or do sexy dances (also flirting with us or teasing each other about flirting with us). That's it. Any other type of behavior is shit they've been doing since the beginning of time and is just how they exist among each other. BTS has probably stopped doing "k-pop fanservice" since around 2015/2016. So it's just really funny to me when people say anything they do with each other is fanservice, because firstly they don't really need to be doing the things they do 💀, and secondly they really do not need to be doing the things they do, there's no reason for it atp in their careers.

☝After I debunked the new smear campaign that she started in that second thread (where I proved with plenty of screenshots and links that everything I said about her pre & post-block harassment was true, and that every single one of her accusations against me was a lie), she decided to double down to extreme levels by claiming that my psychological profile was similar to Hitler's (💀) and that my autism made me "aggressive" and unable to understand that I had no right to "unilaterally block her" 'cause that restricted her freedom of speech; so I wrote this on her (then) most recent AO3 callout post.

Surprisingly (and to my great relief), Autumn seemed to calm down after this and I had 3 days of peace and quiet in which I thought she had finally understood that accusing me of insane things without providing any kind of proof except her word was a waste of time that she could use on something more positive (like working on her fics?).

In fact, I was so happy to think that Autumn's months-long harassing behavior was over that I texted this to a fandom member who reached out to me to make sure I was doing okay (Thank you again for your kindness! 🙏💙):

And, of course, once again there's no evidence to back up the nonsense she's asking Chat GPT to write for her. 😅 As I said before, she's obviously engaging in Sealioning trolling by spamming constant demands for evidence of her harassment, only to purposely ignore it while refusing to provide valid proof of her own to support her unhinged claims, so I'm afraid there's no use in trying to talk some sense into her, either through logic or compassion.

She keeps threatening anyone who refuses to unblock her YGP account with "reporting them to AO3 and Tumblr for defaming her by insisting that she's Autumn", but I personally have nothing to fear since I'm confident that she's the one breaking the rules, not us:

Here's my thought dump about everything. None of this shit is even close to important but I'm gonna ramble a bit because rambling is what I do.

The inspiration for my entire crashing out on the reddit drama of transmasc erasure is directly inspired by something that just happened to me- I got back from a weekend trans event that was ~85% transmasc. And it was great! It was a wonderful event, and the people were wonderful! I'll be back to other events by the same organizers! But myself and the other transfemmes there def noted that it was hard to feel represented and just casually relate to people when it was so transmasc-heavy. It leads to this weird sense of isolation. It struck me that I've seen this play out before, at university events, other social events, other queer spaces when I was still presenting as a cis bisexual guy- just a very conspicuous lack of transfemmes, and a casual dismissal of them.

Those thoughts were stirring in my head. I got cell service again, opened reddit, and.... every post on my feed was about transmasc erasure. Transmasc erasure does happen, but transfemme erasure does too. The mantra I'm going to repeat is that they hate us all equally, but they don't hate us all the same. The kinds of spaces, the kinds of things said that are silenced, are different for transmascs and transfemmes. But we're all losing our voices.

Which is why I have my pet peeve about "transmasc erasure". I think (although idk how it comes off) that I'm less extreme than some other blogs talking about divisions between transmascs and transfemmes, but this one specific thing sends me over the edge a little. It feels like a meta-erasure: erasing transfemme erasure as an issue, and creating a small bit of animosity towards a transfemme when she talks about transmisogyny, because now, talking about a transfemme specific issue has become a problem in "erasing transmascs".

That above paragraph isn't really coming together how I wanted to, this is a really shitty word dump. But idk. Everything else I acknowledge and advocate for. I know transmascs have a lot of things worse than us. It's just hard to take this talk of "erasure" seriously when so many transfemmes have been shoved out of the picture over and over.

Yeah, I crashed out a bit, and wrote some stuff that was poorly worded and I really didn't need to say. None of this shit is the end of the world, but there's a lot of weird feelings wrapped up in this I guess.
