First Day of Summer, Year 2

A nice family Grand Breakfast to celebrate Summerfest. Everything is happy & normal, many jokes are flying and plans are made to celebrate the day.

Suddenly Johnny stood up.

Gerdie's face is basically saying "Stop fooling around Johnny".

But Gerdie should have known - having "died" this way before - that Johnny had too many happy & playful moodlets.

He died, surrounded by his family, doing what he loved most - laughing.

So this wasn't planned - I had been toying with an idea that Gerdie & Johnny would divorce, after he finds out that Johnny is not actually the father of Beau. i was just getting tired of trying to think of things for Johnny to do and not annoy me when I'm trying to take care of the others. But...this takes care of it I guess.

Sorry Johnny, I didn't mean for you to die. But not sorry enough to have Gerdie save you.

Also one of those other gravestones is Gerdie's, from the death that didn't actually happen. The other I'm pretty sure is Angela Pleasant's from when Gerdie brought her back.

So, I'm thinking of doing a thing. I'm historically very bad at doing Sims challenges because a) I'm a chronic storyteller, and b) I don't like being told what to do while playing a sandbox game. HOWEVER, I'm considering some modified version of the SuperSim Challenge because the only real "rule" is to have one sim, keep them alive as long as possible by any means, and get them to experience everything.

I already made a sim. His name is Dave (a.k.a. SuperDave)

Why am I thinking of doing this, you ask? The reason I'm considering it is because I want to see if I still feel anything for this game or not. I play casually here and there, but I feel like I'm more invested in the characters themselves than in the sims that represent them. Part of the challenge for me will include not trying to tell some kind of story and to just play the game. I need to see if I really like this game any more, or if I really have lost all interest in it for pure gameplay.

I might start it once I get settled into the new place, and I'll see if I can sustain it for a bit before I start posting anything. Full disclosure, I am not optimistic that I'll enjoy it or that I'll be capable of playing without trying to turn the whole thing into some elaborate story. I guess we'll see.

TS4 All Aspirations Challenge

So, I made up a challenge on my own a couple years ago: All Aspirations (creative, I know)

I figured it's about time for me to share this, and I'm currently watching James Turner's SuperSim challenge and it's making me think of it

Speaking of SuperSim, I do wanna address the similarities: The SuperSim challenge consists of: all aspirations, all skills, all reward traits, max careers, etc My All Aspirations challenge only consists of completing all the aspirations; I will not go out of my way to max all skills or careers, unless the aspiration I'm on requires it

OKAY, so lets get into it!!

My challenge (AA for short) is simply what I said above: completing all of the aspirations. Specifically, all adult aspirations. I personally do not want to focus on children's or teen's aspirations, so I personally am not doing that

I have a Google Spreadsheet created that lists all of the aspirations, in the order that I want to complete them (I'll link it below). All of them are in the normal order that shows up in CAS, however Soulmate & all of family aspirations are the final ones, as I didn't want to marry or have children while focusing on the other aspirations

My spreadsheet also has a column for designated careers for each aspiration! Ex: Athlete aspirations = Athlete career, Culinary aspirations = Culinary career, Musical Genius aspiration = Entertainer, etc

I have two Sims for AA: one for normal aspirations, and one for the 10 occult aspirations. The idea here is that, when I reach the Soulmate aspiration, these two Sims will marry each other and have a family together for the family aspirations

In my current save, I have completed 2/54 aspirations for my normal Sim and 2/10 aspirations for my occult Sim My normal Sim is about to start raising horses, and my occult Sim is trying to become a Master Vampire!

oh hello! so i've been playing the sims for ages, and have loved playing challenges for ages. thing is, i never actually finish any of them, but i recently started the super sim challenge. i love trying to get stories out of my sims, but i never really share them with anyone so a lot of the times the story gets lost in the skill building and such. since so much of supersim is straight up skill building, though, i decided that i wanted to actually share the story of my supersim because i'm trying to actually give her a story as i go (and also in the hopes that actually posting it will get me to not give up on it). so now, it's time! i'll try to update about once a week, but since i'm a grad student... well, i am lucky if i get in a couple hours of playing in a week, let alone stuff that is interesting enough to update about. but tentatively, i'm going to say that i'm going to update on sundays with what's happened in her story and what progress i've made.

fthis is (some) of the vysoren family at harvestfest dinner, right before my super sim, macha, conveniently sitting at the head of the table, aged into a young adult and moved out on her own to truly begin the fun.

when starting this challenge, there was no doubt in my mind who that supersim would be based on: macha, one of my dnd characters. she is a blood hunter, is a huge nerd, and is endlessly curious. besides being a scholar (essentially a grad student herself), she's also got a complex that she's never good enough so she just has to keep trying to get better, hence the constant skill building and jumping from career to career. for the sake of this challenge, and wanting her to start as a toddler, i decided to use versions of my favorite wives, arcanist allura vysoren and lady kima of vord (from critical role, yes) that i already had in the game, and their first daughter would be macha. and then the family just kept.... growing. so the rest of the family is named after just some of my many dnd characters, and they are: sreng, oogie, bhai'n'tas, ludley, firefly, nithenoel, zavari, outis, and pernorae.... and i'm sure there will be more in the future as i move these kids out, because gods damn are the ladies fertile (and yes, i am using various mods/cc, so therefore same sex pregnancies and larger households).

macha is now a young adult; sreng is her best friend and is a teen not far out from aging up; oogie, bhai'n'tas, and ludley all just aged into teens the same day as macha; firefly, noel, zavari, and outis are all children, while pernorae is a baby i forgot to age up into a toddler before macha moved out. i do plan on playing the family from time to time, and macha at various points in the story will live with some of her siblings, but i don't know how much i'll update their story on here.

macha has decided not to go to university straight away and is taking a gap year. she's moved in with morgan ember, who has been her friend she was a child i think. they're taking her under their wing as she starts out life on her own, planning to mentor her in magic as well as just being a friend and support (this is definitely reminiscent of her relationship with dnd macha's friendship with her boss and fellow blood hunter). she has just entered the freelancer career as a digital artist, planning to work on gigs as she goes to travel selvadorada and explore the jungles and learn all it's secrets.

we'll see what all is in store for her! i'll probably do a screenshot/image dump of her at some point this week, because this post is long enough, but i'm excited to get to share her story.

Basic info

I believe I'm much older than most simblrs out there! I played the original Sims way back when, then didn't play any versions until a month into the pandemic for something to do. I've always loved storytelling so this was perfect to rejuvenate my creativity.

I don't really play any other games, to be honest.

I do not have a gaming computer I just play on a laptop. I don't have any fun reshades, only editing I do to my screenshots is cropping and occasionally will brighten them. So they will not be high quality but I enjoy taking them/telling stories anyway.

I'm terrible at CAS but I love to build. I don't know how good I am at it, but I do it for my own amusement anyway. Gallery ID BabblingStacey.

I've had this tumblr for a very long time but only started sharing my gameplay through over the few years - mainly because I kept taking screenshots with nowhere to put them.

My game and blog is LGTBQ+ and BIPOC friendly. If that bothers you, then this is not the simblr you want to follow. For the record, while I'm a CFBC straight middle aged white CIS woman, I try to keep my gameplay as diverse as possible. If I do get something incorrect, please send me a message. (unless you are a TERF or racist, then you can kindly just fuck off).

Vanessa was created by NoMoreBadTownies on the gallery, the rest of the fam were created with her genetics. Total vibing, no real storyline so far. Vanilla-lite gameplay in ratboysims' amazing save file.

On hold: my own legacy challenge. Mainly on hold because I need to replace a lot of B&B CC in my homes anyway because I've been deleting a lot of problematic creators who leave their content locked behind paywalls for too long for me to be comfortable with using any longer. I've done Not So Berry (the updated version) in a previous save and started my current legacy with the Chromatic Legacy Challenge but during the 6th gen I decided I wanted to write my own that fits more of the way I like to play. You can see my plans here: BabblingLegacy, I update it as I get an idea for a generation. Using SweetieWright's save file. I do change up the houses/lots a lot, but it's a great way to have a starting point.

On hold: Tianna the Wolf with Tianna Pancakes, daughter of Iggy. I really wanted to play this pack - I'm not even that much of a occult simmer but man, this is a lot of fun. Using Fleuralia Save File. On hold because there are now triplet toddler wolves and...i needed a break.

Abandoned: Expansion Berry Legacy, created by @becciisiim, featuring the Shaffer family. However, I'm not doing the generations in the same order as the original. Using @ratboysims's save file. Abandoned because I got bored. I may come back to when I feel more inspired.

I prefer to play one household and don't really play occults very often.

I have all the packs except for some kits and stuffpacks.

I play with mods, a partial list: MCCC , WonderfulWhims, UI Cheats, Personality Please!, Meaninguful Stories, First Impressions, Control Any Sim, many from LittleMsSam (@littlemssam) and Bienchen.

I use a lot of Maxis Match/Mix CC; some of my faves: Clumsy Alien (@clumsyalienn) , Okuree (@okruee), LittleDica (@littledica), Peacemaker (@peacemaker-ic), CharleyPancakes (@charlypancakes), myshunosun (@myshunosun) and probably a bunch more. I've been trying to use less build/buy CC but use it for my own gameplay frequently.
