The Kissing Booth 2: The Kissing Booth 2 is a 2020 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Vince Marcello, from a screenplay by Marcello and Jay Arnold. The film is a direct sequel to the 2018 film The Kissing Booth. Based on the novel The Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance by Beth Reekles, the film stars Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi with a guest appearance by South African upcoming actor Zac Kruger.

The film was released on July 24, 2020, by Netflix. It received negative reviews from critics, although critics called it an improvement over its predecessor.

Handlung: The film starts with Elle narrating her time with Noah before he leaves for Harvard. Her senior year starts with her classmates gossiping how she and Noah will eventually break up, making her fear as Noah has befriended an attractive girl named Chloe as she checks his Instagram. Elle and Lee are planning the kissing booth again for the Charity Fair, while Lee is trying to convince Elle to have Marco Peña, the attractive new transfer student to be one of the kissers. Elle beats Marco on the dancing game forcing him to participate in the booth. Noah suggests Elle apply to Harvard, which clashes with her plans to study at Berkeley University with Lee (where their moms met and became friends). Elle does it without telling Lee.

Elle visits Noah in Boston, meeting his new friends and Chloe, making her more insecure. She finds an earring below Noah’s bed making her angry and confronting Noah, who assures her nothing has happened between him and Chloe and asking her to trust him. Elle talks with her father about college tuition and learns money is a problem, and is willing to participate with Lee on a dance competition with a cash reward for the first place. Lee has an accident on one of their practice sessions (later revealed to be fake) and proposes Marco to become her dance partner, which she isn’t too happy to accept but eventually does. As Marco and Elle start passing time together they grow closer, and an attraction between them initiates.

Unbeknownst to Elle, Lee’s relationship with Rachel is having problems, as Elle is going everywhere with them and not letting them have their time as a couple. After leaving Rachel waiting at the movies she asks Lee to talk with Elle, promising he will but never does. The Halloween Dance arrives, and Lee forgets to tell Rachel that they changed costumes (Rachel was a marshmallow while Lee and Elle were going to be crackers making a smore) upsetting her even more. Elle shares a dance with Marco, almost kissing him but stops when listening to the OMG girls gossiping about her.

The day of the competition Lee finds on his car trunk Elle’s applications to Harvard, angering him. Elle and Marco excel at their performance and she kisses him at the end of their dance, not knowing Noah was on the crowd causing him to walk away. Elle wants to go after him in the moment her and Marco are announced the winners. Thanksgiving dinner happens at the Flynn’s residence, where Noah arrives with Chloe, upsetting Elle who is confronted by Lee for not telling him about her application to Harvard and Rachel being upset with her as well. During the dinner, Rachel discovers Lee never spoke with Elle and breaks up with him leaving. Elle tries to convince Rachel to reconcile with Lee but is unsuccessful. She also gives back the earring to Chloe, who confirms it belongs to her. She reveals that one night she slept in Noah’s room when he was out and left it there.

The day of the carnival arrives, and both Lee and Rachel reconcile after being blindfolded and kissing each other at the kissing booth. Elle is also blindfolded and is approached by Marco, who wants to talk with her about their feelings. Elle admits to Marco there is an attraction between them, but tells him she loves Noah and goes looking for him at the airport. Chloe tells her that he went to look for her, Elle finds him in the shelter park where they kiss and confess their feelings for each other.

At Graduation, Lee shares with Elle that he was accepted at Berkeley and asks if she received a response which she answers she was waitlisted at both Berkeley and Harvard. When Elle opens both envelopes in her room it turns out she was accepted in both universities, which will force her to make a decision: go to Harvard with Noah or Berkeley with Lee.

so y’all hear me out, jean’s a planner. he’s been ready for this moment ever since marco’s wedding when he realized he wanted to be next, meticulously hiding the two stone engagement ring (diamond & opal for our birthstones) underneath his socks, harassing eren and connie to make sure all parts of the plan were in motion. it was simple: on the next friend group vacation at armin’s beachhouse, jean was supposed to take us on a beachside picnic, and to come back to the back porch being completely decorated in flowers and tea lights for the perfect ambiance for an proposal.

but in typical jean fashion, he fumbles, in the best way ofc.

so it really ends up happening in a soft domestic moment between the two of us, probably cuddling post sex where he makes an off handed comment about making sure we stay like this forever, to which i laugh and kiss him before cleaning off, but when i come out of the bathroom hes holding that velvet box open in his big palm saying “i wasnt kidding, you know,” because he couldnt wait any longer to find out.

so we are officially engaged in that moment, both on cloud nine, and then jean realizes that everyones going to murder him about how uptight he’s been about planning it all out, so we have to hide and redo the proposal once again for the way it was supposed to play out two weeks later

the real reason jean’s such a die hard twilight stan? he loves the breaking dawn wedding. which is exactly why we get married in a garden, with beautiful flower garlands for the ceremony and fairy lights intertwined in between them that come alive for the night for the reception. its the balance of elegant outdoorsy, which is something that really feels like jean to me, you know?

jean insists on something traditional at first, its his first public moment as a married guy, he’s got to look good in front of the higher ups. so i agree and initially settle on a thousand years (gotta keep in touch with the twilight theme), but connie, bless his soul, some how manages to remix it with the slowed version of bound 2 by kanye west. jean’s mortified at first, but after seeing everyone laughing and realizing how well the song fits against the setting sun, he’s more than content to just sway with me at the center of the dance floor as more people make their way in.

jean and i spend our honeymoon in croatia, wanting to see king’s landing from game of thrones in the flesh. he’d jokingly call me his khaleesi as we wandered the streets, saying that my sundresses kept reminding him of daneyres, and tell me how i was his sun and stars as we watch the sun set against the teal bay every night. <3

I am so excited to be competing! Everyone seems like such nice people and I can't wait to play in the challenges and do my very best!

Mattie is such a Basic Bitch(TM) and it's killing me. Like I'm not that great of an actress, I am a superb liar but I am a shitty actress. Why? because humor is the only thing that keeps me from going insane and I made Mattie such a basic bitch that she can't use any of my "quirks" or fun thoughts and theories. I just wanna talk about my feelings about being on the neutral tribe... I do consider myself on the Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Good side of things. The chaos comes from my crazy emotions. I'm a Pisces so I'm sensitive and emotional. Also I'm actually kinda happy about being on a tribe of 6 people. I NATURALLY gravitate towards Bianca. I know who Paul is cause he slipped up in the tribe chat. So I feel good :)

So far I've noticed a few things about my tribemates. I don't think anything can be applied specifically to the individual given that I haven't really reached a stage to call people out... but, some of them are hung up on the fact that this a catfish season. When messaging them they tell me that it's awkward and when I tell them that the dog in my profile picture is my dog Donut they ask if it is "for real". okay, i've been trying to be a super sleuth to figure out these identities...  I really think that Misty is really Nic.  Misty is from Georgia and Nic is from Georgia, and I think they are from around the same area.  Nic knows that I am from Georgia and now he knows that Gabby is from Georgia too so I hope he doesn't put it together, I think that I'm typing differently enough and I lowkey think he believes that whoever is behind Gabby really works at chick fil a because I've been doing my homework. I'm not sure who Mattie is yet, but I'm having a hard time NOT mentioning how much I love Glee because then I think people would obviously know who I am- or they would think that I'm Ashley Sarah, but Mattie was talking about Scream Queens and I desperately wanted to say I LOVE LEA MICHELE but I kept my cool. I lowkey think that Mattie might be Pippa though, they remind me of each other.   Everyone else....?  I still have no idea. 

Not much has happened so far. I've talked to a few people but nothing has really moved forward. I was happy to go to the devil's hole, although I didn't end up finding anything. I'm glad I got a chance to meet people from the other tribes though. It was interesting to find out that they have people who haven't even spoken in tribe chat yet? That's crazy. Also it's fun to try to guess who's who. I mean, it's possible I don't even already know the people on my tribe, but it's still fun to try to figure out who they could be. I haven't really gotten there yet. Although I wonder if Alex Raine is a bit new to the community because he's a comp beast, yet he's showing it and making it obvious and making himself a target. I don't know, he seems cool and we've talked a bit, but come merge that could be tricky for him. In terms of alliances, there aren't any yet that I'm really aware of, but Jenny and Alex are the only ones I've talked to that much and I'd be happy to work with them, despite being a little nervous that Alex is a target. He's nice and hopefully his social game is as good as his physical.

Right now I feel like a mess because I keep forgetting to check skype and missing important stuff. But right now the general consensus according to Misty is to vote out Marco because he literally does not exist and hasn't added any of us. I love a good first round flop. I feel like if I start showing my fabulous personality I could have a good shot at surviving if we go to tribal again, however people might be weary of me now that I've gone to the Devil's Hole, even though I got nothing. Rob wouldn't even let me keep the rock. :'(

Why did I make Kat so happy and grammatically correct all the time I'm so used to keyboard smashing like jsjsjahajak. I literally cringe every time I add an exclamation point like pls... settle down... I regret this so much nnnn. Anyways- The people I'm closest to rn are Dianna and William because we have an alliance. I'm also good with Giruga, but that's probably because he's such a talkative person-- and so is Dianna. It's really important for me to show my worth to these people so they don't target me because social players run the early premerge. I think I'm doing a pretty good job of that so far. I'm also playing it off like this is my first time playing an org, which will make me seem less threatening. I don't really know if that'll play off since we're all catfish, but I figure the more utr I am right now the better.
