Only Traitors Consort With The Damned. (Part 13)
The Lost Boys x reader
Warnings: injury, blood
Context: The boys, (Y/n) and Nico formulate a plan to get out of the cave safely.
A/N: I have a new editor! It is my good friend @jawline-of-steel and she will hopefully be helping me with editing on all of my work!😊💛💛💛

“What do we do? There’s no way out of here except through there! We’re trapped!” I say quickly, keeping my voice down as much as i can so as not to alert anyone outside of the fact that we are very close by, “Is there anywhere we can hide?”
“In here? Yeah, there is, but I’m not sure how good the hiding places are, especially not for someone as big as him.” Dwayne muses, gesturing to Nico as he turns to David with a questioning look on his face.
“All of the hallways are blocked off by debris, and any of the crawlspaces barely fit us, so it’s doubtful that he will be able to get through.” The platinum blonde responds dismissively, though his tone betrays his nerves, the idea of a team of highly trained Hunters waiting just outside the cave worrying and unnerving to him.
“How is she supposed to walk anywhere? She’s got a busted leg, remember?” Paul interjects, pointing at me.
“One of us could carry her?” Marko suggests, which draws a low growl from Nico, his protective side showing through as he tightens his grip around me, holding me tighter to his chest.
I think for a minute, during which time the other five tense up, clearly having heard something I can't, Marko and Paul starting to look even more worried. Frowning, i look around at them all, as if asking them to clarify, though none of them care to explain; instead, David jerks his head to the side, signalling for the rest of us to follow him as he leads us through a nearby tunnel, which takes us to what i assume is their sleeping quarters, Nico having to duck down the entire time as he struggles to fit his bulk in the space. As we emerge into the area, David quickly starts talking.
“The sun is gonna come up soon, so we don’t really have too much time, but I think we can help you. If one of us carries (Y/n), then she can leave through the way we get in and out of here, which isn’t accessible by foot, so it's the safest way out. As for Nico, there’s a chance we can lure the Hunters around the caves enough for him to have a clear chance at getting out of here, but it will only work if you're fast, because they'll most likely be expecting something like this to happen. There’s a safehouse a little way away, where you can stay until you can find transport, and where one of us can stay whilst the sun is out.” The vampire swiftly explains, the rest of us nodding as we take in the plan, glad that one of us is thinking rationally.
“Hold on, why do you have a safehouse?” Nico asks, frowning in the dim light.
“Our sire made it in case anyone ever came after us.” Dwayne fills him in, before moving on again just as quickly, “Which one of us is going to carry her?”
“Paul will, he's the fastest out of the four of us, which will mean he can get to the safehouse much quicker.” David says decisively, looking to his friend for confirmation.
“I’ll do it.” The tall vampire nods, reaching out to take me from Nico, who reluctantly hands me over, giving me one last squeeze for reassurance as he passes me to the blonde.
“Hang on a sec, what about Nico? How is he supposed to know where the safehouse is?” I chip in, looking at the towering werewolf as he straightens again.
The vampires are silent for a moment, thinking the question through, clearly as stuck as I am. Eventually, Dwayne pipes up again, having thought of something.
“I guess one of us will have to go with him.” The brunette says, looking around at the others.
“Yeah, I guess that would help.” I agree, adjusting myself in Paul’s arms.
“I can do it, I'm fast enough to get out of here and into cover before the sun comes up.” Dwayne offers, looking over at Nico as the werewolf, nods appreciatively, still uneasy around the vampires, but not as much as before.
“Ok, Dwayne will go with the werewolf. We’ll stay here and out of sight as much as we can.” David says with finality, watching us all agree before speaking again, “Alright then, let's get going, I can already hear them on the steps.”
“Alright. Thank you for doing this, you really didn't have to.” I say to them all, smiling thankfully.
“No problem, Dwayne is right. We owe you this, you’ve saved our lives too many times to count.” The platinum blonde waves me off, moving to start off into a nearby hallway.
I go to say something, only for Nico to cut me off, gesturing for Paul and Dwayne to move off immediately, not allowing me to argue with him, as is often the case. Paul starts moving off, carrying me as he turns down a different way to the others, where there is already a cooler breeze blowing in from the sea just outside. I lean back against the vampire’s chest, tensing in his arms in trepidation as i think through the plan in my head, still nervous about what will happen to my friends whilst im gone, particularly David and Marko, who will be stuck in the cave with a bunch of Hunters ready to kill them at a moment’s notice, should they get themselves caught. Part of me is confident that they won’t, but the more rational part of my mind knows that there is a very high probability of things going badly, which will end even worse for the rest of us.
I am snapped from my thoughts by the sound of the roaring ocean, the cave now widening out into a cavern that is filled with crashing waves, the far end ïleading to the sea itself, the horizon still cloaked in darkness despite the proximity of dawn that is fast approaching.
“You're gonna want to hold on tight.” Paul warns me, waiting for me to grip him with more force before he kicks off the ground, the disorientation that comes with his floating slightly off-putting as I become stiff in his arms.
“Hey, relax. I'm not going to drop you.” The vampire promises, before he starts to move off towards the front of the cave and out into the open.
*
My back aches as I slouch in the chair I'm sat in, my fingers knotted together as I watch the doorway, my lip already in shreds from how much I've been biting it, every muscle in my body tense with nerves. Across from me, Paul eyes me in concern, knowing that every movement I'm making is upsetting the injury on my knee, which is throbbing painfully now, though I am ignoring it in favour of staring at the space where Nico and Dwayne should appear.
"They'll make it, (Y/n), don't worry." The vampire tries to reassure me, though he isn't too convinced, looking just as worried and uneasy as i feel.
"I hope so." I manage back, my jaw clenched and tight, though I am doing my best to relax it.
We wait in silence again for a few moments, neither of us daring to say a word in case we miss the tell tale sounds of someone entering the safe house through the hatch in the abandoned gas station above, the actual door itself squeaky and stiff from disuse. It takes a little while, but eventually we hear it, at which point Paul moves to stand by the doorway, ready to intercept if it should be someone unsavoury, rather than the supernatural beings we are expecting. I sit up straighter, my eyes trained on the doorway, anxiously awaiting whoever it is, the heavy footsteps becoming more and more audible as they approach.
Suddenly, the familiar, lithe silhouette of Dwayne enters the candlelight, the brunette limping a little, his bare chest stained red with blood, Nico just behind him, the werewolf completely bare, his skin covered in sweat, blood and dirt. A few cuts litter his chest, though there is a wound on his shoulder where the shaft of a crossbow bolt is just visible. The German instantly comes over to me as he sees me, ignoring any pain as he chooses instead to pull me into an awkward embrace, glad to see I'm alright.
"Thank God you're ok!" He hums into my hair, pulling back to look me in the eye.
"I'm fine, Nico, though I can't say the same about you. What happened?" I respond, looking between him and Dwayne, who has sat down beside me on a different chair.
"There were some waiting for us outside the cave. We fought them off, but we both got hurt in the process. Nico took a crossbow bolt for me." The vampire informs me, nodding thankfully at the werewolf.
"And you took a bullet for me. We are even." He responds, smiling at the vampire in his usual crooked way, moving away from me when he finally notices that he is still naked, "Are there any clothes in here that I could wear?"
"Err, yeah man, they're over there. What happened to your first ones?" Paul asks, looking a little confused.
Nico sends him an odd look, obviously wondering if the vampire is joking.
"My clothes were destroyed when I transformed."
"You transformed?!" Paul exclaims, going wide-eyed as he looks over the huge werewolf.
"It was the only way either of us would be fast enough." Dwayne cuts in, groaning as he pulls a bullet out of his shoulder with his fingers.
"Oh, right." His friend nods, going to the brunette's side to offer his aid.
Across from us, Nico roughly yanks out the crossbow bolt, growling as he does so, pulling on a shirt that is much too small for him after, knowing that the wounds will heal themselves in a little while. Once done, he moves to sit on a sofa nearby, only to come and help me up when I gesture to him that I'd like to join him. Carrying me over to the sofa, the werewolf sits down with me, placing me beside him as he leans back, clearly tired.
Tired now, I watch as Paul helps Dwayne with his injuries, the two vampires talking quietly amongst each other, clearly worried about David and Marko, who are most likely still running from the Hunters back at the cave, the two of them in great danger. Unconsciously, I let my head drop onto Nico's shoulder, my eyelids starting to droop as I start to give in to the sleep I've been fighting off all night, the perpetual warmth from his body soothing and calming to me, his arm coming up to support me as he carefully manoeuvres us so that he's lying back against the arm of the sofa, my body resting on his. In this new position I quickly feel myself start to lose consciousness, my muscles finally relaxing as I let myself fall asleep.

Sometimes, I just need to ask you crazy questions. So, after reading "Runaway" this came to me: what if Maddie, sometime after her parents divorced and she went with Emma, didn't want to be with her mom but with her dad instead? And that kind of made Mark not hate Godzilla anymore after learning what Maddie thinks about the King after San Francisco? How much things would've changed because of that in the KoTM events? - EternaLight
Haha, I don’t mind crazy questions, friend, so don’t be afraid to ask! I, uh, might have gone a little overboard with my answer though, whoops.
We’ll say for the sake of things that Maddie stays with Ilene at Castle Bravo for a little while so her parents can figure things out without her getting caught in the crossfire (or entirely forgotten). Maybe Ilene chewing them out is enough of a wake-up call that Mark starts to get a better, more steady handle on his life earlier. I have a lot of different opinions on his character and the ways I portray him, but we’ll say that here, he makes a sincere effort to let go of his resentment. His daughter, who really enjoyed both her stay at Castle Bravo and all the Godzilla talk, deserves that much.
Maddie goes with Emma but Mark insists on being a more, well, present presence in her life. In the movie, it sounds like they haven’t seen each other for quite some time, and Maddie tries to hide that she was emailing him, but whether he didn’t reach out until then or Emma tried to limit contact, I’m not sure. Regardless, here Mark makes sure Maddie doesn’t have the chance to feel ignored again. Maybe he makes it so she can stay with him for a week every month or something at least.
Either way, I’m gonna say that Maddie spent her ninth birthday with her dad and that’s when she asks if maybe she live with him instead. She’s a little tired of the moving around, of the not knowing where she or Emma will be next week, of the strangers and interns who have to watch over her.
Mostly, she’s tired of playing second fiddle to the ORCA, and she tells him that.
The ORCA? Mark thinks. Contact with the Castle Bravo has been sporadic and never very work-oriented, so he hasn’t heard about Emma’s project before.
And Mark—who has tried to be more open-minded from the beginning, who listened to his daughter’s thoughts on the Titans, and who has several crayon drawings of Godzilla currently hanging on his refrigerator—does two things.
First is have the custody agreement altered so Maddie spends most of her time with him, visiting Emma when she’s not too busy (which isn’t often). The second is to share his concerns with his old Monarch friends.
“The ORCA is dangerous,” he says, but this time, he adds, “not to humans, but to the Titans.” One device, one person, shouldn’t have that sort of control. What if it falls into the wrong hands and the Titans are made to do terrible things? He imagines how upset Maddie would be if Godzilla was forced to obey some puppeteer.
People pay attention, especially since he tells those who know how much Maddie likes Godzilla. Things change, are noticed, and maybe it’s not enough to completely prevent the events of KotM from starting, but it is enough.
Emma isn’t assumed to be a traitor, because Mothra’s hatching plays out mostly the same, just minus Maddie. Monarch is ready to intercept Jonah’s crew at Antarctica, preventing them from releasing Monster Zero. They’re all brought back to the States, and Mark and Maddie are there because of course Maddie wants to see for herself that her mom’s all right.
But since they don’t know she’s working with the terrorists, Emma escapes with the ORCA and manages to set Rodan free, simply skipping to the next phase of their original plan. It’s not nearly as much of a disaster as KotM. Isla de Mara is still destroyed, and a lot of good people in Monarch are killed. When Godzilla shows up, he knocks Rodan around a bit, not trying to kill him as he would have Ghidorah, and Rodan backs off. The Oxygen Destroyer is never launched.
When Mothra emerges from her cocoon, she heads off to beat Rodan up herself. Emma manages to evade capture, and in the mess of the aftermath, finds Maddie and takes her. She uses her daughter a little bit as a hostage, but her main motivation for snatching her is because she wants Maddie to be safe while the Titans rampage. Maddie tries to talk some sense into her, but Emma’s too deep now. Emma says she’s doing this so Andrew’s death wasn’t meaningless, and Maddie demands to know what all the newly childless mothers out there would think about her reasoning.
They stop for a minute so Emma can figure out the best route to take to avoid being caught. Maddie can’t get out of the handcuffs, but she does manage to escape the car. The road they’re on is at the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean on one side with nothing but trees and grass on the other. There’s no one else around for miles, but if the most she can do is delay her mom and give Monarch time, then she will. Maddie runs down the road back the way they’d come, listening to Emma shout as she scrambles to follow.
Maddie makes it a decent distance, considering her hands are cuffed behind her back, when the calls of her name suddenly stop and a shadow falls over her.
Towering up over the cliff is Godzilla, one hand very deliberately placed on the concrete between Maddie and her mom.
(Turns out, a Titan is prone to remembering the one kid who has ever tried to give them brownies. Who knew?)
Monarch arrives soon after, having been tracking Godzilla. With Rodan sufficiently cowed, Jonah and his people locked up, and Emma and the ORCA recovered, further disaster has been averted. Mark and Maddie go on to a lot more time at Castle Bravo now, which was quickly expanded to include space for Mothra to land on.
And if Maddie was determined to give Godzilla brownies before, back when she was seven, then she’s twice as determined now. Even better, Mark is eager to help.

Solis Part 3
I gasped, shooting up from the cold floor. My fur feeling sweaty and sticky. Wiping brow I was under the silver tree. Looking up to its purple leaves. The dream or vision, whatever it was. It was on Mars, this I knew for sure.
Looking back in front of me, the mysterious orb was gone now. The pedestal which it sat now empty. Shaking my head, I got up to my paws. Making my way back out of the cave, taking one last glance at the foreign structure.
The cave remained unchanged, only this time I followed the lava flow up. The dry heat turning back into the muggy soup like air of the jungle.
Catching my breath, letting out a few huffs at the base of the cave. I gazed into the jungle and sky. The yellow haze of sunset, casting steam off the tree tops. The forest floor being defined with a slight mist as everything began to cool.
"Ah shite!" I curse myself, with night falling is the worst time to be out here. Slashers ruled this time, their beady eyes peering through darkness as if it was nothing.
Dashing through the underbrush, leaves whipping at my face. I tried to raise BB, but communications through the thick jungle were hazy at best. As I got nothing but a load of static from the ship.
"Shite.. shite shite!" I stopped for a breather, looking around the jungle. I knew my way back for now, but my paws were sore from the sharp rocks. My chest raised and fell, my pupils wide and looking for danger.
My paw hovered above my gun, ready to snatch it from its holster at a moments notice. As the jungle screamed and cawed its way to life at night, I still kept an eye out for this life.
I still caught my breath, my comms came back in. BB doing his best to make contact with me.
"Vex?" His monotone voice came through. "What did you find?"
"We'll talk about it later, I'll reach the ship first then I'll go over it. Let me get out of this damn jungle first."
"I see you're stalled, what is it?"
I didn't answer him, my ears darting to the back over a noise I heard. Something rustling in the bushes behind me.
"Vex?"
"I'll get back to you."
Turning around with my revolver drawn, the polymer and metal gleaming from the tiny shards of red sun poking through. I took a steady breath, stepping forward just once. Trying to draw out whatever creature made that noise.
Sure enough it revealed its ugly head. Shiny black scales dawned a thin dinosaur like head, two bright, tiny, crests protruded from its snout and chin. Facing me were four beady eyes, a sickly pale yellow stared right back at me. Sharp needle fangs sent shivers down my spine, as it stepped forward with three razor sharp claws on it hands. A dotted purple strip ran from its muzzle, eyes, back, and tail against the dark black scales. All leading up to why they're called Slashers. A protrusion of bone, like a blade, came from the tip of the tail.
If I wasnt careful it could go right through my armor, ignoring the shielding on it! Stepping back now, I took in the size of this animal. It wasnt large by any means, adult slashers could grow as tall as a man. This one was maybe half that, but that didn't matter as single one this size was well enough equipped to kill.
Out of instinct I shot at the creature. A bullet ripping through the air near its feet, sending bits of dust flying up and up! It screamed and hissed, mock charging me and waving its tail. The two of us circled, my own teeth baring out of aggression and partly fear.
With a wiggle of its rear, it went to leap on top of me! Quickly I raised an arm and tossed it to the side, letting another shot rip as I tried to hit it! Its claws leaving their mark in my armor.
Landing with a grunt, it quickly got back to its feet. Hissing and snarling, saliva dripping from its fanged jaw. The Slasher was furious with me, its prey, wanting nothing more to stab me and gut me. Clamp its jaws on my throat and feast on my innards. All things considered I preferred to keep my insides, INSIDE of me.
Though one mistake almost gave it its wish. Paying too close attention to its claws and maw, I soon felt the sharp sting of its tail pushing itself into a weak point in my armor, my arm being set a fire as muscle was cut. Letting out a yell I pushed the muzzle of my gun forward, letting out a few desperate shots hoping one would land.
Bellowing and yelping, it was unclear if I hit it as it scampered off into the jungle. Even if I did, it knew I was wounded as well. Smelling the blood that seeped from my arm, sticking to my fur. Now it was my time to run, as I stuck my gun back into its holster I took off. Grabbing my arm from the pain.
Dashing through the dense jungle, I started to hear calls behind me. The Slasher had run back to its pack, and they were hot on my trail. Calling and hooting like something from a dinosaur movie, fear struck my heart. I couldn't fight them all, no way I could, one small one nearly took me out. If it was just a bit higher.. no, do not think like that. Just run.
"BB!" I called into the comms desperately, pushing away palms and branches. Knowing I was close to the ship.
"Your heart rate is elevated, what did you piss off now?"
"Slashers! Get the ship ready now!" I yell out again, the clearing in which I landed getting closer. Pain in my arm dulling my mind as blood still seeped under my armor and in the tear.
"You brilliant genius! What made you think fighting Slashers was a good idea!"
"Now is not the bloody time!"
Dashing and almost tripping into the clearing, blades of grass danced back and forth from the power of the ship. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, leaping to the deck and climbing aboard. Looking behind me, I could see then running after me. Bounding over the field, wanting revenge. Quickly I closed the hatch and watched them come for me. Smiling just a bit knowing they wouldn't feast on me tonight.
"Maybe next time you scaley bastards." I said surprisingly calmly, panting and huffing as I was soon reminded of the pain once more.
"It appears one got you." BB chimes in now, as I tilt my head and smirk. "Just a bit, didn't even feel it at first. Thing got so scared it ran off after that."
"Hmph, I suppose it was full-grown too."
"Damn right!" Slinking my way back up inside the main parts of the ship. I stripped off my armor to show blood and sweat soaked clothing. Tossing everything aside to be cleaned and washed, far enough away for me to not notice the smell.
Heading to the bathroom, I look behind the mirror for my first aid kit. There in a bright red box, with a large cross plastered on the front of it. Using my thumbs I pop the case open with a click, all kinds of bandages, cleaners, and stitching before me. Picking up an alcohol pad, I tear open the casing and toss it into the garbage beside me.
Sitting down on the toilet, I begin to wipe at the wound. Wincing as the pain seared through, blood being pushed aside and out of my fur. Revealing a gross gash into my arm, the blood pretty much stopping at this point waiting to be cleaned. Which I did, cleaning and removing the blood, taking my time to carefully not re-open the wound.
Once the red was gone and my greyish blue fur back, I want to pick up a stitch pack. My head now pulsing and my paws getting shakey. Pain staying well overdue its welcome. I sighed and tried to get a grip of myself, but this itch would not go away now as long as pain existed.
Giving in, I grab the stitching pack and head back into my room. The the now dark jungle seen from the window, the Slashers nowhere to be seen in the black soup. Quickly I grabbed the orange bottle off my dresser, opening it up and taking out little white pills.
"Vex don't you do this again."
I winced, leaning on the dresser as my tail started to swish. "My arm hurts, I need them."
"You don't need them you want them." His voice rang throughout the ship, trying to get me to reconsider my actions.
"BB don't start this, I wont be able to sleep with my arm like this."
"You're killing yourself."
"I'm not!" I snap facing his outlet in my room, angrily looking at the blue holographic ball. Turning back to the desk to stare at the bottle. I knew he was right, I just couldn't stop. Not when the pain was like this.
Tears forming in my eyes I dump a few out into my paw, not even counting them as I downed them. The tacky feeling being stuck in my throat for a moment, swallowing for a second time to get them down.
"Why would you do that, you should've done at least one. The recommended amount if it was for the pain."
"I'm fine! I'll just sleep it off."
"How long before you don't wake up Vex."
Growling just a tad, I close back up the lid and take out the stitching patch. Placing it on my arm and yanking the string, breaking it off unintentionally as I felt the stitching inside the pad close up my arm.
"I told you I'll be fine."
"You need help." BB said in a low voice, to which I brushed it off and flopped into the cold bedding. Closing my eyes and laying my face into the pillow.
"Piss off, I'm tired of this every damn time."
"Fine, but don't think I wont do it again. You will break this habit."
Ignoring him now, I closed my eyes with the room dimming around me. The pills kicking in, dulling my senses, the pain. All of it going away as the time passed, the sounds of the air rushing through the ship. BB taking off gently to find a nearby port. The jungle turning to sky as the dark took me to sleep.
