the thing about phoenix and maya's relationship is that Yes maya refers to herself as phoenix's (big) sister twice in canon but it feels like some people are so focused on forcing them into nuclear family sibling dynamics because of it that they forget that they are friends who are absolutely bonkers crazy balls-to-the-fucking-walls insane about each other first and foremost
