Matrix opal refers to opal that formed pervasively within the structure of its host rock. It fills the pores, voids, or spaces between the grains of this surrounding rock—typically called the matrix.

Mexican Matrix Opal aesthetic moodboard!!
Mexican Matrix Opal:
Mexican Matrix Opal embodies the spirit of Día de Los Muertos, adorned in a long black dress resembling the skeleton of the dead. With a veil and flower crown adorning her head, she stands at a height of 6'2", exuding an aura of solemnity and grace. Her entire form radiates with rainbow iridescence against the backdrop of white, with a hexagon-cut gemstone adorning her left hand. Despite her serious demeanour, she displays occasional smiles and laughter, especially in the company of her romantic partner, Mexican Fire Opal. She serves as the "Attractive and Gentle" counterpart to Mexican Fire Opal's "Brutish, Thuggish, and Intense" persona, finding happiness and contentment in their relationship.

DAMN THESE ARE SOME SICK-LOOKING GEMS!! Why do they all look so edible ahaha esp the watermelon tourmaline it looks like hard candy
what are some gems that you think more people should know about
AGHAGAHSGAHGS HOW DID YOU KNOW I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THISSS
okok first off,, tysm for the ask. Second,, prepare for some military grade infodump
OK so, one of my favourite ones to tell people about is angelite because look at it!! It's fucking blue! And the name is cute!

(Not my photo) and if you place it water for an extended period of time, it turns into gypsum (because it was formed of it) like wtf!! It's also super low on the Mohs hardness scale, it's like a 3-3.5 which is like, baby levels since diamond is 10, this thing would probably scratch if you looked at it the wrong way /j
My second favourite one is charoite, because it's ourple!! It looks like if you put a bunch of lavender in a blender and cast it in resin!

(Again not my photo) it's also only found in ONE place in russia (Sakha Republic in Siberia) and literally nowhere else!
Another one is Opal in Matrix, or Matrix Opal! The matrix in its name refers to the fact that it's opal mixed with layers of the rock where it was mined out of, which is sick asf.

And also people tend to confuse it with boulder opal, which makes sense considering theyre both "opal mixed with host rock" but theyre different things! Both are super pretty tho (the pictures are both Matrix Opal)
Next is Bloodstone, which deserves a place here just for the name. It's nothing amazing, just dark green chalcedony with jasper inclusions, but cool as hell nontheless!

I actually have one of these, but this isn't my photo, and also, this reminded me of another stone!
Sandstone (also known as goldstone) is super pretty (and I also have it!) It's super sparkly and really pretty, I love the blue variant, it's soooo pretty (and I dont have it sadly)

Its really cool, too bad it has a rather meh Mohs hardness (between 6 and 7) because for rings it's ideal if the stone has 7 or above, because otherwise it might get scratched, but it's still great for earrings or decor!
And lastly because I cant think of any other at the moment,,drumroll please,, watermelon tourmaline!! LOOK AT IT!! it's watermelon, it's tourmaline, what more could you possibly want??

It's legit soooo pretty, look at it! Theyre lithium rich, and can appear with banded colors (like the ones in the picture) or with a core of one color and a rim of another! (Namely, I prefer the banded colors, but the rim to core ones are pretty too)

#the sandstone one looks like it's full of glitter omggg#angelite's name suits it so well damnn#matrix opal reminds me of the armour the dragon riders wear in how to trajn your dragon 3#it's soooo pretty#anyways...#*runs off with the watermelon tourmaline totally not to gnaw on it*#nox asks#levi#moots

"Just as 'most prisoners walk into prison because they know they will be dragged or beaten into prison if they do not walk,' we can say that most of the psychiatrically committed walk into hospitals because they know they will be restrained or dragged in if they don't walk. Often, this power has not required the psychiatrist to know the exact source of the ailment they treat nor exactly how their methods act upon the mind; what matters is that the machine is running. A whole system, a tightly interwoven mesh of relays and discourses is in place to transform the psychiatrist's judgment into effective action: a working theory and classificatory system to organize the clientele and separate them from other objects of care or punishment (taxonomy or nosology); institutional spaces (the asylum is historically the most pervasive, but also clinics, group homes, psychiatric wards, etc.); judicial codes defining the status of the mad (generally analogized to animals or children); prescribed roles for legal actors (police, judges, forensic experts); a chain of bureaucrats to sort out matters of insurance, finance, and property in cases of institutionalization or guardianship; and approved mechanisms or surveillance and reporting to translate individual complaints into the state's administrative codes. There are as many points of contact as there are spaces of encounter and discourses of legitimation in the social world. One or more of these elements can be revolutionized without fundamentally changing the connection between the parts. For example, at various points throughout its existence, as we've already seen, a theory of 'social causation' prevailed over a biological one without changing the matrix that defines modern psychiatry, and the same can be said for some of the legal alterations to the patient's status throughout the twentieth century.
There is no psychiatrist-patient encounter set apart from a broader circuit of relations: patient-apartment-work-family-cop-partner-school-neighbor-psychologist-state-guardian-probate-judge-psychiatrist-hospital. And to be clear: our biology itself is shared and leaks throughout this chain at every step. Our bodies are permeable, open, they leak, bleed, consume, excrete; our bodies flow out into a common world, and are open to outside influence, as the COVID-19 pandemic has made so excruciatingly clear. A patient of the Utica Asylum put it beautifully in The Opal in 1852: 'Like fermentation in the chemical world, [humanity's] atomic adhesions are in constant enlargement and in silent operation, seeking out relations, and forming relations of unsurpassed beauty and comfort, because in conformity with nature and adapted to its condition, means and end.' Attempts to neutralize this network by relegating every actor and space in the chain external to the domain of the psychiatrist onto the order of natural history ('we're just responding to the demands of the family...' or 'that's a matter for the police...I just deal with the patient once they arrive here') expose this posture as a naively religious one. In denial of the profane world and its complications extrinsic to the holy circuitry of neural or endocrine highways of the One in isolation, they declare a monastic fealty to an object of study over and above the matrix that makes its study possible or their conclusions efficacious in any real encounter...
...If psychiatry still takes refuge in the desert of scientism--speaking in tongues of prolix jargon--it's because a paradise of healing did materialize, but not as a Promethean forge of liberated humans, nor even as solemn resting place of broken souls, but sank so low as to appear as nothing more than a mundane prison. Burdened by the unbearable weight of their failure, the next generation abandoned their project and ran away to the labs, relinquishing responsibility for the armies of the living dead. At least they hung a sign at the door of the asylum on their way out. It read: 'abandon every hope, who enter here.'"

Resource I made for myself to have a small visual dictionary of the Gems/Spirits Vhaeraun favors.
I can't claim credit for a lot here. Everything was compiled using the FR wiki (already information compiled) and built up from the information in Demihuman Deities. I just wanted everything compiled in one place so I didn't have to keep clicking around the Wiki.
Agni mani - Agni mani was the name given to certain tektites—glass-like objects formed when hot meteors fell from the sky and struck sand. They were typically found in Anauroch and other deserts around Faerûn.
Power - This gemstone could absorb a small random portion of an explosive blast, such as produced by a fireball or beads of force, vaporizing in the process. Agni manis only protected the being that was carrying or wearing them
༺☆༻
Black Opals - Black opal was a dark version of opal found in ancient active or dormant hot springs. This stone had a dim greenish matrix with blotches of black and flashes of gold. It was usually smoothed by tumbling and cut cabochon. A typical specimen had a base value of 1,000 gp.
Power - Black opals had an affinity for force effects and could be used in the creation of wands that were particularly good at delivering force spells. If powdered and mixed with crushed orl, it formed a powerful explosive that could be touched off by an open flame, if done properly. The blast was extremely devastating to anything within 10 ft (3 m) and could still do significant damage to creatures and objects up to 30 ft (9.1 m) away.
༺☆༻
black sapphires- Black sapphire was a rare variety of sapphire found mainly in south Faerûn, particularly around the Great Rift where the dwarves of the Deep Realm prized them greatly. These stones were an inky, lustrous black that reflected white or yellow highlights and were facet-cut in the same way as their blue cousins.
Powers:
When cut and polished, a jewel-quality black sapphire prevented time-related spells from operating within a range of 30 feet (9.1 meters). Spells such as temporal stasis, time stop, and spells from the arcane chronomancy school or divine time sphere all ceased functioning, either temporarily or permanently, depending on the nature of the spell. These gems could also be used in the creation of exceptionally powerful wands that stored spells like darkness and related magics. The darkness effects produced were either more difficult for the target to resist or the strength of the spell increased, again, depending on the nature of the spell.
The shadow magic item helm of darkness used a large black sapphire and thirty-six black opals in its construction.
Relevant Notes:
Black sapphires were considered prized gems among the drow, being one of their favorites.
While being favored by Vhaeraun, it is also favored by Lolth. Quote: The drow deity Lolth sometimes showed her favor to followers by having them discover black sapphires that had spiders encased in them.
____
Personal Note: black star sapphire is good for him and a great way to differentiate between his mothers sapphires.

༺☆༻
blackhued chalcedony-
Chalcedony was a semi-precious stone that was the base mineral in many gem-quality stones, but in the Realms the more colorful varieties all had their own names. In Faerûn, chalcedony referred to the mostly colorless versions of these gemstones.
The vast majority of chalcedony gems were white to off-white, rarely shading to gray or black. They could be found in deposits that yielded large gem-quality stones that could be carved into statuettes or coffers. Smaller stones were typically cut cabochon and polished, often giving them a resemblance to ivory. A typical stone had a base value of 50 gp.
Power: This stone was used in the creation of magic items that conferred protection from the undead or control over them. For necromantic purposes, this gem could be used instead of human bone, improving the efficacy of items dealing with nonhuman undead.
Crushed to a powder and enchanted with an easy spell, chalcedony added to an alcoholic beverage prevented intoxication without altering the taste of the drink, making it a favorite of agents and spies that needed to keep their wits sharp.
༺☆༻
Crown of silver- Crown of silver was the Realms name for psilomelane chalcedony, a variety of chalcedony containing many fine bands of black manganese. The black bands of these ornamental stones took on a brilliant polish alongside the silver chalcedony, so crown of silver was usually sliced for inlays, tumbled smooth, or cut cabochon. A typical stone had a base value of 10 gp.
Power: In powdered form, crown of silver had a mundane use in preventing rust on ferrous metals when applied directly. In magic, it was used as a component of the (possibly mythical) everbright spell. It could also be used in place of iron filings in most spells that required them, such as certain protection spells.
Relevant Notes:
Crown of silver was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station.
༺☆༻
Hematite- Hematite was an ornamental stone that was favored by fighters, as well as a common ore of iron. Typical raw hematite appeared as a hard gray-black crystalline mineral, or as a red stone. Gem-quality hematite had a very fine grain of crystals, and could be polished to a smooth, shiny dark gray or black stone similar in appearance to steel. It was often tumbled to make beads or cut in a baguette fashion (rectangular with beveled sides). When crushed, hematite became a blood-red powder.
Hematite weighed about 306 pounds (139 kilograms) to 330 pounds (150 kilograms) per 1 cubic foot (0.028 cubic meters). In bulk, it was commonly used as iron ore. Tiny amounts of hematite could be trapped inside sunstones, giving the translucent gem an amber or reddish hue. A similar effect could occur in iol stones, giving them a secondary golden color.
Powers: Hematite was not magical itself, but it was responsive to enchantments related to blood and life force and was used in necromancy and the healing arts. Specifically, it was used to create magical periapts for healing and foul rotting. It was said to absorb negative energy. A typical stone had a base value of 10 gp.
Only a handful of people (mostly powerful mages that kept the secret to themselves) knew that this common stone was one of the "nine secrets"—minerals that could be enchanted to become ioun stones.
Relevant Notes:
Polished Hematite stones were a relatively cheap and common feature of jewelry. Hematite was a common stone among the drow, and was worn by drow of average station. They also often used it on enchanted items.
༺☆༻
Horn coral (Also known as Night Coral) - Horn coral was not a mineral but a highly prized variety of coral. It was also known as night coral. The deep black version of horn coral was similar to angelar's skin except for its solid color. It was polished and used in jewelry, typically cut cabochon or left in its twig and branch form. A typical specimen had a base value of 500 gp.
Power: Horn coral had the unique property of granting water walk to someone wearing the item. To release this power, the wearer had to touch the horn coral with one of their own tears and call on the ability. The effect lasted up to an hour, after which, the horn coral disintegrated into dust. A few rare specimens did not dissolve and could be reused after about ten minutes. There was no known method of distinguishing which specimens would not be consumed by casting water walk except by trial.
༺☆༻
Jet - Jet was a variant of bituminous coal that could be cut into fancy stones. Jet was a deep black gemstone that was hard enough to take facets and was often used in simple pendants or as part of a larger setting. In the wealthy commercial centers of Amn, Calimshan, and Sembia, jet was worn to represent sorrow and mourning. This custom was also practiced in Waterdeep and Westgate. A typical specimen had a base value of 100 gp.
Power: Jet was the material of choice for magic jars and could be made to release the captive life force within by means of certain treatments, or accidentally trigger the release by casting specific spells in close proximity to the magic jar. If this were to happen, a person or creature near the magic jar would have their life essence sucked into the jar and the captive entity would be released to inhabit their body. Being in possession of a magic jar rarely gave any control or influence over the entity stored within.
Relevant Note:
Jet was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station. It was actually one of their favorites.
The legends of jet being used for magic jars were true, and stories about irascible wizards or dire magical beasts popping out to possess the body of the hapless victim gave jet a bad reputation. Jet gems and jewelry found in treasure troves were generally viewed with great suspicion.
____
Personal Note: I picked an example of jet thats already been carved into a necklace because thats what I think dnd was thinking of with it when they say thats what drow favor. Uncarved Jet and tumbled Jet to contrast.

༺☆༻
Black-hued marble - Marble was a hardstone widely used in the Realms as a building material. Marble was sometimes called calcite because that was its primary ingredient.
Marble was highly prized in construction because of its strength, weight, and beauty. It came in many colors, including black, gray, pink, and white, and polished to a reflective smooth finish. This material was extremely heavy but was easy to quarry to exact specifications. A typical price was 3 gp per pound (0.45 kg).
༺☆༻
Obsidian - Obsidian, also known as natural glass or volcanic glass, came in different grades and varieties, some more prized than others. Low grade obsidian, called pitchstone, was not as shiny or smooth as gem quality obsidian but was useful for grinding and abrading. A variety called blacksmoke obsidian was primarily found in Tashalar, sold in the local bazaars. A rare form of obsidian, called rainbow obsidian, was considered a semi-precious stone.
Volcanic in origin, obsidian was a hard, black, glassy stone with a natural sheen. Common obsidian could be chipped into arrowheads, cutting blades, or even weapons if large enough. As an ornamental stone, it was usually tumbled, polished into smooth cabochons, or carved into figurines and fingerbowls. It was often worn as jewelry or inlaid on bracers or pectorals of copper or bronze. Package handlers in Waterdeep wore obsidian rings with a cutting edge on the inside for snipping twine. Gray to white inclusions made obsidian brittle but when cut and polished correctly, snowflake obsidian was equally as valuable as regular obsidian. A typical stone had a base value of 10 gp.
Powers: There were "nine secrets" that could be enchanted to become ioun stones, and obsidian was the most well known of them. Obsidian also made an extremely useful figurine of wondrous power, renowned as the obsidian steed. The cutting capability of obsidian made it a good material component for wizards attempting to create blade barrier-like effects.
Obsidian was used as a material component in the spell abolish shadows.
Relevant Notes:
Obsidian was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station. It was one of their favorite gems.
-
Personal Note: While I used a gem-cut of obsidian for the picture because of the aforementioned "Commoners Gems' theme, personally, I really like the rainbow Obsidian for him because it reminds me of galaxy on a night sky and really plays into the god of night aspect he holds...

༺☆༻
Black-hued onyx - Onyx was part of the agate family of ornamental stones but was considered a semi-precious stone when found in pure black, pure white, or in straight bands of both colors. This semi-precious stone was carved for jewelry and decorative housewares and was hard enough to wear well. It was often used for sculpting figurines (including the magic onyx dog). A typical specimen had a base value of 50 gp
Powers: There were "nine secrets" that could be enchanted to become an ioun stone and onyx was one of them. Physical contact with onyx helped reduce complications and pain during childbirth. Onyx gems were used by wizards to animate dead as zombies or other undead servants
Relevant Notes:
Onyx was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station, albeit they used only black ones.
-
Personal note: Wasn't good for an example image, but wanted to put it in my pocket for later. Carved Onyx.

༺☆༻
Black-hued pearls - Pearls were not mined, they were the product of oysters or other mollusks, but they were treated like gemstones.
Pearls were formed of layers of tchazar (aragonite) around a bit of grit or other irritant, growing inside a mollusk over the span of a few years. This slow process gave pearls a smooth surface with a deep, rich luster. Pearls were predominantly white but did occur in other colors such as gold, pink, or silver; rainbow and black being the most rare and valuable. The unique brilliant green pearls of the emerald oyster were valued at 500 gold pieces and above.
Over-sized pearls 3 inches (7.6 centimeters) were frequently flawed in some way and not as valuable. One exception to this was a perfect head-sized pearl that was enchanted to become a crystal ball. A typical pearl has a base value of 100 gp to 500 gp, depending on market value.
Powers: Pearls were used as a material component in many spells, particularly those that reduced acids to plain water, and neutralize poison. Crushed to a powder, pearls were used in creating all types of magic mirrors. Well-known magical items included the pearl of power, the pearl of the sirines and the pearl of wisdom. Pearls were used to create periapts of wisdom, common magical amulets often found in possession of high-ranking clergy.
Relevant Notes:
Pearl was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station, albeit they used only those of black, red, or deep mauve colors.
༺☆༻
Ravenar - Ravenar, also called schorl, was a variety of tourmaline mainly in demand in the North, and less so in other lands. Ravenar occurred in long crystals like other varieties of tourmaline and was a solid gloss black. Ravenar was commonly used for inlay work on weapons and accouterments. Where it was popular, a typical specimen had a base value of 1,000 gp.
Powers: Ravenar, like all tourmalines, could absorb any spell cast upon it and immediately convert it into three lightning bolts that blasted outward in straight lines from the crystal facets in directions chosen by the caster. This act consumed the gem in the process.
Relevant Notes:
Ravenars were considered prized gems among the drow.
_______
Personal Notes: Some different jewelry cuts I found of this, since I was struggling to imagine how this is cut in practice. Turns out, a lot of different ways.

༺☆༻
Samarskite - Samarskite was a semi-precious gem used for mourning jewelry or to adorn black ceremonial dress. Samarskite was a rare-earth mineral, hard and dense, with a velvet-black metallic luster, usually cut cabochon. A typical specimen had a base value of 50 gp.
Powers: One or more samarskite gems, carried or worn on the body, was known to protect against undead by reducing the severity of their attacks by a small amount.
༺☆༻
Black-hued jasper - Jasper was a semi-precious form of quartz or chalcedony found in the Realms. Mostly found in opaque shades of red, brown, or solid black, very rare specimens of these semi-precious stones were blue or had bands of blue superimposed over the other colors. A typical specimen had a base value of 50 gp.
Powers: Jasper had strong anti-poison properties. Crushed to powder, it could be substituted for any solid ingredient when making antidotes or magical potions and items that neutralized poison or bestowed protection from poison. Because of its reputation and properties, jasper was the stone of choice for making both periapts of foul rotting and proof against poison.
If stored for at least 24 hours in a container made from jasper, consumable liquids were purified of all taint. This was standard practice in the royal palace in Suzail and many other courts
Relevant Note:
Jasper was a common stone among the drow, a gem worn by drow of average station.
===========
Final Note: I have to cross reference it with what is Lolths list, because it is possible that they just lumped in "gems favored by drow" to the drow gods. But I find it really interesting how many of his favored gems have the added note of "This is commonly worn by drow of average stations" Only two of these are actively considered "Precious" to Drow. Which is a neat reflection of not only who his church is made up of, but how he's valuing them, I think.
#Drow#World Building#Dnd#Vhaeraun#I want to do this for lolth and Eilist eventually but first I want to gather the rest of Vhaeraun's favored things#I think I can skip animals but I cant skip in universe encounters#Like the yethhound....

✧˖*°࿐the lore:
.ೃ࿐the watcher society
founded in 1903 by James Walker, a brilliant scientist and occultist who discovered ancient texts suggesting humans could ascend to godhood through specific rituals and scientific manipulation. what began as an eccentric belief system evolved into a powerful secret society with branches in major world governments, entertainment industries, and scientific institutions.
*ೃ༄ . core belief. humanity can be transcended through the perfect fusion of science and spirituality to create "living gods."
*ೃ༄ . methods. the Watcher combines cutting-edge technology with ancient ritual practices. they've conducted numerous experiments throughout the 20th century, with the ALICE Project being their most advanced and ambitious yet.
structure. a hierarchical organization with: *ೃ༄ . the Eye (Leadership Council) - 12 members *ೃ༄ . the Seers (Upper Management) - high-ranking officials in various industries *ೃ༄ . the Observers (Field Agents) - monitor and collect specimens *ೃ༄ . the Architects (Scientists) - create and manage the experiments
the ALICE PROJECT was initiated by the secret society known as the watcher, a cult-like organization obsessed with ascending human consciousness to godhood. through a blend of psychological conditioning, ritual science, and bioengineering, they created six prototype beings: the false angels. they were meant to embody perfection—emotionless, obedient, powerful—but instead developed fragmented consciousness and emotions.
after decades of failed attempts to artificially enhance human consciousness, the Watcher developed Project EVE-06 (codenamed "ALICE") to create six perfect beings from scratch rather than modify existing humans.
project EVE-06, also known as ALICE, was the watcher’s magnum opus—an experiment meant to create vessels for transcendence. through invasive memory implantation, trauma-induced obedience training, and biomechanical engineering, six “girls” were crafted as icons of perfection: emotionless, obedient, beautiful. but something went wrong.
the six "False Angels" were not born but made through a combination of; advanced genetic engineering, spiritual/ritual "awakening" ceremonies, consciousness programming using quantum technology, supernatural element infusion (classified as "Ethereal Essence")
each subject was designed to embody a specific angelic virtue while containing a suppressed "sin" that could be activated when needed. the Watcher believed this duality was essential for transcendence.
these six girls escaped the facility after a catastrophic experiment during their “awakening,” and now hide as normal high schoolers. outwardly sweet and dazzling idols… inwardly fractured, haunted, and fighting to stay free.
.ೃ࿐the escape.
during the final "awakening" ritual intended to fully activate their powers while maintaining control, something went catastrophically wrong. dr. Jiwoo Kim (later known as "White Rabbit"), a scientist who had grown attached to the subjects, sabotaged the procedure by modifying the consciousness integration algorithm. the ritual partially succeeded, awakening the girls' powers but also giving them free will and fragmented memories of their creation. in the ensuing chaos, Dr. Kim helped the six escape the facility. the Watcher classified the incident as "The Alice Breach" and immediately issued termination orders for all subjects and Dr. Kim.
now fugitives hunted by the Watcher, the six girls disguise themselves as normal high schoolers—wearing false smiles and angelic innocence like armor. they live in liminal spaces—empty classrooms, quiet train stations, white-walled corridors—places between reality and dream, safety and threat.
on the surface, they are sweet, dazzling idols—“perfect girls next door.” but beneath the smiles lie fractured souls, haunted by their origins, battling the pull of darkness and violence in their veins.
they began to dream.
cracks formed during a pivotal stage called the “Awakening Sequence,” where their consciousness was meant to be fully overwritten with Watcher doctrine. fragments of self—flickers of real emotion, memory, and pain—surfaced.
one by one, they began to resist.
the White Rabbit, a rogue scientist once loyal to the Watchers, saw their awakening not as failure, but as evolution. he sabotaged the compound’s systems and led the girls out. the world thinks they were “terminated.” but in truth, they are hiding—fractured, hunted, and struggling to be human.
ೃ⁀➷MEMBERS DESIGNATIONS
WA-01 (NARAN) - "the gilded blade". grace (obedient)
WA-02 (MIN) - "the crimson echo". rage (control)
WA-03 (SHIWON) - "the mirror fox". wit (strategy)
WA-04 (YAFEI) - "the velvet mercy". compassion (emotional suppression)
WA-05 (ARTEMIS) - "the stray prophet". voice (leader of the chorus)
WA-06 (MADI) - "the doll of dawn". curiosity (corrupted innocence)
ೃ⁀➷KEY LORE ELEMENTS
.ೃ࿐the white rabbit protocol
dr. Jiwoo Kim created a failsafe within the girls' programming—a hidden protocol that would help them regain their memories if triggered by specific stimuli. these triggers are subtly embedded in their music and performances, explaining the strange "glitches" that sometimes occur during their shows.
shown by
a visual cue in early MVs—when a member stares into the camera, the screen briefly glitches—suggesting they're breaking the illusion of their idol mask.
.ೃ࿐the feeding cycle
the girls discover they need to "feed" on specific human emotions to sustain their enhanced abilities:
Naran. feeds on courage and determination
Min. feeds on curiosity and intellect
Shiwon. feeds on loyalty and dedication
Yafei. feeds on desire and admiration
Artemis. feeds on wonder and revelation
Madi. feeds on joy and innocence
this need to "feed" explains their drive to perform and connect with fans, as concerts provide abundant emotional energy.
.ೃ࿐the false angel syndrome
as the watcher created more experiments following the ALICE formula, many began exhibiting similar signs of awakening and rebellion. the organization classified this as "False Angel Syndrome"—a "defect" in which the subjects develop true sentience and begin questioning their purpose.

.ೃ࿐hidden messages
each album contains coded messages in lyrics, choreography, and music video imagery that form a larger narrative when pieced together. fans who decode these messages are actually helping the girls spread awareness about The Watcher's activities.

𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆, 𝒍𝒆𝒕’𝒔 𝒈𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒂 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆!
✧˖*°࿐ Pre-debut: in early 2018, a YouTube channel titled “Alice_FND” began uploading a series of cryptic videos without any formal promotion or direct affiliation to ATE Entertainment. the channel initially featured short, seemingly mundane clips—girls in school uniforms filming each other during lunch, sketching in notebooks, dancing in empty practice rooms, or riding the subway.
all videos were stylized with subtle VHS filters, timestamp overlays, grain, and light digital glitches, evoking a found footage aesthetic.
at first, the content appeared random and innocent. however, viewers who followed the uploads closely began to notice unsettling motifs:
*ೃ༄ . in one video, a girl hums to herself in a mirror before briefly staring directly at the camera as if aware she’s being watched.
*ೃ༄ . another features shaky cam footage of someone walking barefoot down a hallway at night while a distorted children’s song plays faintly in the background.
*ೃ༄ . certain clips would abruptly cut to a black screen with handwritten scribbles or numbers that flashed too quickly to read clearly.
*ೃ༄ . the same school hallway appeared in multiple videos, but with slightly different posters or lighting, suggesting time loops or alternate perspectives.
clips were titled in lowercase, often with cryptic names like “mirror_03-17”, “sheleftthewindowopen”, or “nocaller_id”.
while no faces were explicitly introduced, fans soon began identifying the members through frame-by-frame analysis—recognizing Naran’s ballet movements, Min’s voice, or Madi’s distinct handwriting visible in a classroom whiteboard shot.
*ೃ༄ . this campaign—internally referred to by ATE Entertainment as “Nocturne Sequence”—continued over several months and garnered viral traction in niche online circles. it was eventually revealed through insider leaks that the videos were deliberately constructed as performance teasers, intended to blur the lines between documentary and art installation.
the final upload, “lucidend_00”, dropped one week before debut. it included all six members walking into a fogged mirror room in school uniforms. the footage cuts abruptly before any of them speak. the only sound heard is a tuning fork resonating in the background.
*ೃ༄ . shortly after, WILD ALICE was officially revealed as ATE Entertainment’s upcoming girl group, with the announcement of their debut mini album, FALSE ANGELS.
*ೃ༄ . this pre-debut campaign remains one of the most distinctive in K-pop history, praised for its commitment to atmosphere, mystery, and unorthodox engagement with viewers.

a fellow starscream enjoyer and gemstone collector! hi hello! what are some of your favorite gemstones?
Oh! Ok so I have a whole collection of both gemstones and other minerals, tho none are precious gemstones not really. But I also like learning about gemstones because it's a niche of mine but also I like using it for transformers worldbuilding lol.
As for your question, my favorites would probably be these below the cut:
Almandine Garnet

They're a very pretty shade of red. I don't really have much reason behind my liking for them beyond that, tho they do also remind me of the colors seen on Megaempress and some of Megatron's designs in media, so there's that too.
Matrix Opals

I love the contrast in the opal within it's host rocks. It also reminds me of how Optimus Prime is portrayed in media. The name of this stone doesn't help with that either. 😂
Akoya Pearls

These are a favorite not exactly cause of their appearance but rather because the fact they are created from a breathing living thing. The fact something can be seen as beautiful and fancy to others while it's maker would have seen it as an obstruction and worthless feature is so sweet to me in the metaphorical sense. It somewhat reminds me of Starscream too(primarily IDW as he was cold constructed). Especially with how these stones are associated with fancy/rich, and beautiful individuals primarily women in older and some new media with them worn as bracelets and necklaces. Akoya are my favorite simply cause the shiney colors on them.
And my most favorite,
Star Sapphires

These and any other star stones iirc are created from internal fractures in the facets. Tho I could be off on that. But basically it's similar to the pearls for me, I just love how something that's usually favored for it's perfection and beauty can be seen as worth-full and precious still even with internal flaws that show. Once again in the metaphorical sense it can sound so beautiful and poetic. It also reminds me of how some members of the fandom view their favorites, especially of characters that are either wildly disliked or rarely see any recognition.

I think we should bring back cameo brooches. Cameo jewelry in general. Who was that really famous 19th-century German cameo carver who pioneered the technique of incorporating the opal matrix into the engraved image itself so it was less likely to crack. Wilhelm Schmidt? I just think they're neat. I need to start cleaning and dealing with the pipe situation in my apartment and walk to 7-Eleven for an energy drink but I can't stop thinking about Downton Abbey and antiques appraisals
