nothing too special about this one besides a neat little area at "16, 65, -56" (that would be cool for a little base) but it's a pretty thick dark oak forest spawn, plus if you go straight for long enough past the water there are some cool birch forest islands

☀️🌙🐸
(Rana from Minecraft Java Edition Indev 0.31, and the crafter from the Bedrock Marketplace banner)
When I saw a really cute crafter who has so cute skin on the Minecraft Bedrock Marketplace banner, it reminded me of something.

GreenOak Server Update!
Tumblr media
Yesterday over on the GreenOak Minecraft server, we worked on adding a bunch of new and fun features to the server to hopefully make it better and more fun for everyone!
Tumblr media
Firstly! We have added a bunch of new crops and decorations onto the server all of which are heavily inspired by Stardew Valley! There's tomatos, corn, peppers and so many others! We are still working on adding other crops and food to the server, but this is the first big batch!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up! We have added new fishing mechanics, rods, bait and fish! There are a handful of different rods that give you different buffs, there is areso different lures you can use to effect your fishing. There are also multiple kinds of fish that are again inspired by Stardew valley!
Tumblr media
We also added SafariNet's! You can craft these spawn eggs to transport mobs around! You just right-click them, and they will pop into the egg! (All NBT Data will be saved of that mob) This should make transporting things like Villagers far easier!
Tumblr media
Lastly! We have changed our Shop plugin for the last time! We already use Shopkeepers on the server for AdminShops and figured it made sense to use them for player shops as well! You can buy these saplings at /Warp ShoppingDistrict and you can use these to setup a shop! You can buy up to five of them!
If you would like to come play and try these features out for yourself among all the others we have!, join us on the server!

The modder argument is a fallacy.
We've all heard the argument, "a modder did it in a day, why does Mojang take a year?"
Hi, in case you don't know me, I'm a Minecraft modder. I'm the lead developer for the Sweet Berry Collective, a small modding team focused on quality mods.
I've been working on a mod, Wandering Wizardry, for about a year now, and I only have the amount of new content equivalent to 1/3 of an update.
Quality content takes time.
Anyone who does anything creative will agree with me. You need to make the code, the art, the models, all of which takes time.
One of the biggest bottlenecks in anything creative is the flow of ideas. If you have a lot of conflicting ideas you throw together super quickly, they'll all clash with each other, and nothing will feel coherent.
If you instead try to come up with ideas that fit with other parts of the content, you'll quickly run out and get stuck on what to add.
Modders don't need to follow Mojang's standards.
Mojang has a lot of standards on the type of content that's allowed to be in the game. Modders don't need to follow these.
A modder can implement a small feature in 5 minutes disregarding the rest of the game and how it fits in with that.
Mojang has to make sure it works on both Java and Bedrock, make sure it fits with other similar features, make sure it doesn't break progression, and listen to the whole community on that feature.
Mojang can't just buy out mods.
Almost every mod depends on external code that Mojang doesn't have the right to use. Forge, Fabric API, and Quilt Standard Libraries, all are unusable in base Minecraft, as well as the dozens of community maintained libraries for mods.
If Mojang were to buy a mod to implement it in the game, they'd need to partially or fully reimplement it to be compatible with the rest of the codebase.
Mojang does have tendencies of *hiring* modders, but that's different than outright buying mods.
Conclusion
Stop weaponizing us against Mojang. I can speak for almost the whole modding community when I say we don't like it.
Please reblog so more people can see this, and to put an end to the modder argument.

I have a confession...
I really like birch wood in Minecraft. I love the color and vibrancy it can bring to builds with multiple build types as well as light/dark contrast with blocks like deepslate.
I know it's the most universally hated wood type and a lot of people joke about it being disgusting, but I really do enjoy it.

Thirteen years ago today, I captured a moment in Minecraft history that caused more viewer backlash than any other!
Mojang had just added endermen, who could at first pick up bedrock (which in my day was called adminium), and I captured proof!
However, this was almost immediately patched out, and everyone yelled at me for faking it with a texture pack.
Fun fact, this video is also the reason I no longer game with a wireless keyboard.

Update to my Dried Ghast lore theory
We find the Dried Ghast in the soul sand valley, in a nest of skeletal remains. If we follow the theory that the Ghast has a sort of octopus death spiral- killing herself over time to provide for her eggs, dying before they ever get to hatch, we can make the theory that the mother Ghast is providing moisture for her eggs, perhaps inside her body or perhaps with her tears. And then when they hatch, those who thrive are regular Ghasts. And those who do not remain suspended in cryptobiosis, and need more moisture and a cooler environment to revive.
