For the Delightfulized Violet AU: *TND base*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maurice: Chad, the information used for these studies insanely confidential! We have to report to Global Command and tell them that someone has leaked documents on recommissioning. I know it might help us with un-delightfulizing Violet, but—
Chad: If we take this to Moonbase, it’s getting confiscated immediately with no guarantee they’ll be willing to use it to help us. That’s a risk I can’t take when our partner’s safety is on the line. I say we take advantage of what we’ve been given now and worry about the source of this information later.
Maurice: They even know that we’re still operatives! I want to help Violet just as much as you do, but we have to think this through.

Space: 1999 The Exciting New Hit TV Series - Vinyl Album containing 5 exciting stories
This is a fascinating piece of merchandise from the original run of the iconic Gerry Anderson science fiction series.
Here's a breakdown of this album:
What it is:
Audio Drama/Story Album: This isn't a soundtrack of the show's music. Instead, it's an album that features condensed audio adaptations of individual Space: 1999 television episodes, complete with narration, dialogue from the show (or re-recorded dialogue by voice actors), and sound effects.
Promotional Tie-in: These types of albums were very common in the 1970s (and earlier) as a way to capitalize on the popularity of a TV show or movie, offering fans an audio experience to relive their favorite stories.
Release: These albums would have been released around the time the show was originally airing, capitalizing on its "new hit" status.
Key Features You'd Expect:
Narration: A narrator would guide the listener through the plot, connecting scenes and describing visual elements.
Dialogue from the Show: Often, original dialogue snippets from the TV series would be used, featuring the voices of actors like Martin Landau (Commander Koenig) and Barbara Bain (Dr. Helena Russell). In some cases, voice actors might have re-recorded lines or new lines to fit the condensed format.
Sound Effects and Music Cues: Key sound effects from the series (like the Eagle Transporter's engines, laser fire, or the distinctive alarm sounds) would be incorporated, along with musical cues from the show's score to set the mood.
Condensed Stories: Each of the "5 exciting stories" would be a heavily edited and adapted version of a full TV episode, usually running for 5-10 minutes per story side, to fit on the vinyl album. This means a lot of plot details would be cut for brevity.
Typical Stories Covered:
Without seeing the specific tracklist on the album, these types of releases usually featured adaptations of some of the most memorable or action-packed episodes from the first season. Common choices might include:
"Breakaway": The series' pilot episode, where Moonbase Alpha is blasted out of Earth orbit.
"Matter of Life and Death"
"Black Sun"
"Ring Around the Moon"
"Another Time, Another Place"
"War Games"
Why this album is significant to fans and collectors:
Nostalgia: For fans who grew up watching Space: 1999, these albums are a strong nostalgic link to their childhood and the beloved series.
Collectibility: They are collectible items for fans of Space: 1999 and Gerry Anderson's work, as well as collectors of vintage sci-fi merchandise and old-time audio dramas.
Historical Context: They represent a specific era of media tie-ins and how popular culture was consumed before the advent of home video.
Unique Listening Experience: Even if the stories are condensed, they offer a unique way to experience the show's atmosphere and characters through sound alone.
If you have a copy of this album, it's a cool piece of Space: 1999 history!

Azula
Personal gain and because she was gaslit herself.
100% pure girlboss. So good at lying and manipulating that the magic human lie detector can’t figure her out. Gatekeeps her father’s “love” from her brother
Azula was considered a prodigy in firebending at a young age. And she manipulates and plots to get what she wants.
They (gas)lit stuff on fire, gatekeeped the avatar from the Fire Nation, and girlbossed all the way into insanity
Akane Kurashiki
Zero Escape spoilers! Akane Kurashiki is dead. Died in an incinerator as a child. But she's right here, isn't she? She's talking about mummies and the Titanic and I'm holding her in my arms. In space, no one can hear you scream.
Unless you were on Kids Next Door Moonbase.
There? People could hear you screaming out the wazoo.
Why, there was so much screaming going on there; it was practically white noise for Global Command. If there ever was a moment when there wasn't the lively chatter of a buhmillion kids from all walks of life communing on the base to end all bases, then it was either winter holiday break or something was terribly, horribly wrong.
At the moment, it was barely Thanksgiving. And given how quiet the Moonbase currently was, it was safe to say the silence was due to the latter scenario.
I.e. something bad was going down.
In docking bay eleventeen, a gaggle of operatives stiffly patrolled the area. Their movements were almost robotic, and their once bright eyes were now dull and listless as they meandered about, attending to some command with nary a fuss.
"Come on, guys! Snap out of it!" came a muffled shout from a holding cell. A fist pounded against the metal door, frantic eyes glaring out the tiny peephole. "You gotta fight it!"
The guard of the door, a random cafeteria working armed with a SCAMP rifle, narrowed her eyes at the door. "Be…quiet…"
Her tone lacked agency. Devoid of any emotion.
The prisoner redoubled their efforts, the door trembling under their futile efforts. "I got injured operatives and scared cadets in here, you jerk!" His voice was littered with panicked urgency. "One of them needs an inhaler! ASA-NOW!"
The cafeteria guard ignored him, focusing on her single-minded directive.
Suddenly, the docking bay lit up as a single SCAMPER hovered up to the loading terminal. Nearby, an out of place DOH-DOH Squad officer jerkily directed a gaggle science nerds to form up around the galley plank.
All children present crowded around the ship, the sights of their rifles steady against the hull's structural weak points.
The door to the SCAMPER hissed open, weapons humming madly in response.
"Don't…move," the kid in charge demanded of the unknown pilot. He glared. "State…your…business."
From the bowels of the ship, an accented voice cried, "Pizza delivery!"
"We did not order a…" the guard blinked, everyone looking down confused as a pizza box was chucked in the middle of their group. "…pizza?"
The cardboard lid slowly opened on its own, an angel choir sounding off as they all bore witness to the golden glory of the fabled Ninety-Nine Cheese New York Style Pizza.
Even in their mind-addled stated state, all operatives present couldn't stop their mouths from salivating.
Steam rose from the pie's crust as the cheese atop it began to boil and bubble.
SPLOOOOOOOSH!
The uncut, medium-sized pie exploded in a gooey burst of Parmesan, Asiago, and mozzarella. The force blew back all caught unaware, their bodies glued and trapped to nearby surfaces by hot, sticky cheese.
The way clear, a small figure cockily ambled out of the scamper. An African-American boy strutted onto the Moonbase proper, dressed in a worn, orange jumpsuit, the torso folded down to reveal the stretchy white jersey baggy against his chest. He kicked the toes of his Nike sneakers against the deck, pumping up his kicks for the inevitable butt-whooping he was about to dish out.
Jerome Kingsly used the nozzle of his blaster to adjust his shades, combing through his messy fro whilst his lips curled into a self-assured smirk. "Down in Brooklyn, we call that the Nine-Nine Special."
"Numbuh Nine-Nine! Over here!"
WARNING. This a long chapter. Please give yourself breaks :3

"The general was an unstable fusion, yet held in the utmost regard. The cold gaze of Diopsite was enough to have even a topaz under their command. In the first era, there was no other commander as revered as the directing Emerald and her protege, and then combined was a force many were forced to respect among Delta Green Diamond's court."
Excerpt from Enceladus' orbiting Moonbase, circa. Era 1.
Woah...Fluorite and Emerald fusion but in the old mural style. Even though the fusion wasn't a diamond, their authority was well enough to result in gems preserving their image well after their Emerald's shattering.

Space: 1999 Stars Barbara Bain & Nick Tate Goes Board Documentary About Sci-Fi Show’s Legendary Spacecraft
Actress Barbara Bain, star of the British sci-fi series Space: 1999, is preparing to board an upcoming documentary about the Eagle, the famed spacecraft at the heart of the show that ran from 1975-1977.
Bain will appear in The Eagle Has Landed as will Nick Tate, her cast mate from Space: 1999. The documentary includes the participation of several other notable figures: Apollo XVI astronaut Charles Duke Jr., Academy Award-winning visual effects artist Bill George (Blade Runner, Star Trek), and Brian Johnson, the VFX artist on Space: 1999 whose work is said to have influenced Star Wars. The film is being directed and produced by Jeffrey Morris, who also hosts the documentary.
Tumblr media
The Eagle Has Landed “explores the cross-generational impact of the iconic vessel” in the series that also starred Martin Landau. According to a press release, the film “showcases never-before-seen archival footage” and will be released in time for the 50th anniversary of Space: 1999’s debut, in 2025.
“Space: 1999 appeared on TV a few short years after the world watched Neil Armstrong take the first steps on the moon,” Morris noted in a statement. “The show’s unforgettable Eagle inspired a generation to envision a future in space and is still doing so decades later. The question we explore is ‘why?’ What is it about this imaginary craft that has captured and held imaginations for nearly 50 years?
Tumblr media
Morris’s FutureDude Entertainment is producing the documentary in partnership with Zero Point Zero Production Inc. Anne Marie Gillen is a producer on the project, along with Morris. The film is written by Morris and Fredrick Haugen. Morris is represented by Espada Entertainment.
Space: 1999 ran for a total of 48 episodes, with Bain and Landau in all of them as, respectively, Dr. Helena Russell and Commander John Koenig (the actors were married to each other at the time; they had previously co-starred together in Mission: Impossible).
Tumblr media
The show revolved around the denizens of Moonbase Alpha, scientific researchers living on the moon whose existence was threatened by a nuclear explosion, which rocketed the moon out of Earth’s orbit. Tate, an Australian-born actor, played pilot Alan Carter on 42 of the show’s 48 episodes. Originally, his character was to be killed off in the premiere episode, a casualty of the nuclear explosion, but producers Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson liked his work and expanded his role.
Tumblr media
“Hovering above the Moon in one of Alpha’s Eagle spacecraft, Alan Carter is an observer to this holocaust, watching helplessly as the Moon spins out into space,” according to a synopsis published by the Catacombs.Space1999.net website. “Sacrificing his only chance to return home, Carter decides to give chase to the runaway Moon, joining his friends on the endless intergalactic journey.”
Tate told the website, “I didn’t have to dig too deeply with this character. Alan Carter was all the things I was as a young man: friendly, happy-go-lucky, someone who loved adventure and accepted a challenge.”
Ian McShane, Joan Collins, and Leo McKern were among actors who appeared in single episodes of Space: 1999.

What secrets does Starship UK hold at its depths, and who is hiding them? Soon, the Doctor is forced to make an impossible choice. No matter what he chooses, death is the only outcome.

KND Swap AU: Part 1
A swap/role-reversal AU! I've seen that most swap AUs have Sector V switch roles with the Delightful Children/Sector Z but I decided to do something a little different!
Numbuh 362 - Numbuh 1
Numbuh 86 - Numbuh 2
Numbuh 35 - Numbuh 3
Numbuh 23 - Numbuh 4
Numbuh 60 - Numbuh 5
Sector V is now called Sector VI.
Numbuh 1 (Nigel Uno) is the Supreme Leader of the Kids Next Door and still retains his workaholic personality but is friendly and supportive. Although he loves his job, the pressure does sometimes gets to him.
Numbuh 2 (Hoagie P. Gilligan) is the Head of Decommissioning. He still tells bad jokes but is bossy, stubborn and loud at times. He doesn't hate girls but doesn't want to put them in harm's way, so he can come off as sexist to others.
Numbuh 3 (Kuki Sanban) is a Moonbase Scout and the Sooper-Stealthy Communications Officer. She still retains her cheerful personality but is a bit of a nerd and loves Yipper.
Numbuh 4 (Wally Beetles) is the Incendiary Confectionary Munitions Agent. He's a pretty cheerful but can be pretty crazy at times with his candy weapons. He's also a fan of Rainbow Monkeys.
Numbuh 5 (Abby Lincoln) is the Drill Sergeant at the Kids Next Door Arctic Base. She is strict and stern when training the cadets and has a serious personality. Despite that, she is loyal to the KND and has a laid-back side. She is a close friend of Numbuh 1 and her sister is the formerly Supreme Leader Numbuh 11.
As for Sector VI...
Numbuh 362 (Rachel T. McKenzie) is the workaholic leader of Sector VI and would rather go on missions than hang out and play at the park. She tends to be paranoid and is quick to jump into action. She puts her team before herself and cares deeply about them.
Numbuh 86 (Fanny Fulbright) is the 2x4 Technology Officer of Sector VI. She is a nerd and enjoys eating food. She enjoys cracking bad jokes and puns much to the annoyance of her team. She is also known to play detective whenever there's a mystery.
Numbuh 35 (Bartie Storks) is the Diversionary Tactics Expert and Medical Specialist of Sector VI. He is optimistic, clueless and loves Rainbow Monkeys. He has an aggressive side when someone insults Rainbow Monkeys and takes great care of the hamsters of the Sector VI treehouse.
Numbuh 23 (Virginia Sims) is the Hand-to-Hand Combat Expert and Brawler Weaponry Expert of Sector VI. She is the team's muscle and is the strongest, toughest and wildest member of the team. While she's not very smart, she makes up for it using her fists. She is impulsive and hates Rainbow Monkeys because of how girly they are (Just because she's a girl doesn't mean she has to like Rainbow Monkeys!). She has a crush on Numbuh 35 (but don't you dare tell anyone!).
Numbuh 60 (Patton Drilovsky) is the Second-in-Command and Spy of Sector VI. He is intelligent, calm and book-smart. He is seen as the cool one and usually refers to himself as "Numbuh 60" in the third person. He loves candy and is a candy hunter. He usually goes on candy adventures alone and has a fatherly side. He has a secret crush on Numbuh 86 (despite her bad jokes) and has a fierce rivalry with his older brother Chad.

Doctor Who: The Moonbase
Season Four ✨ 1966 - 1967 ✨
Doctor: 2nd
Story Length:
Companions: Ben, Polly and Jamie
Main Setting: The Moon, 2070
Main Enemy: Cybertelosians
Creatures: Telosian, Telosian Cybermen
My Personal Rating: 6/10
Tumblr media
The TARDIS arrives in 2070 on the Moon, where a weather control station under the command of a man named Hobson is in the grip of a plague epidemic — in reality the result of an alien poison planted by the Cybermen. The Moonbase: I had to watch 2 original footages and two animated for this story, which was a little weird, but yeah. Overall though, I enjoyed watching this story, it was interesting, and it's fun to see the Cybermen early on. I cannot explain how worried for Jamie I was.
(Please don't take these too seriously, I am not a real life reviewer, just someone who likes the show)

Commander Koenig is calling you on your commlock...
Tumblr media
The commlock was a multi-purpose device carried by the residents of Moonbase ALPHA on Space:1999. It was part communicator, part transponder, part access key, part computer, and useful in many situations.
Tumblr media
The hero display prop commlock was built around a Panasonic TR-001 1.5"/35mm vacuum-tube CRT, a miniaturized version of the picture tube in a B&W TV set. What was carefully not shown was the thick cable that came out of the other end of the device to carry signals and power to the CRT display, often routed up the sleeves and down the legs of the actor's stylish Rudy Gernreich costume. The other prop commlocks used by the actors in scenes not requiring the video display were inert dummies, at times with a static back-lit transparency to simulate the video function.
That was high-tech special-effects magic in 1975. Today, your phone can do all of it.

Rules: Share snippets of your work containing each of the words the previous poster selected for you (optional addition: if you can't find the words in your WIPs, or you simply don't have any WIPs, you can just write a sentence around the word).
Thank you so much for the tag @lidensword I loved your short story! Really good way to use the words.
I was given mysterious, stone, sea, glad, I'm going to put the original thing as I have written and then an aproximated translation. My wips are a mess too lol (The first two are from the same wip curiously, lmao but it doesn’t have a title yet, the third is from a sci-fi and the fourth one I have mentioned it some time, is from “When the cat’s gone”)
The words I'm given are: forest, light, miscellanious and crime
Mysterious= Misterioso

"Cut the crap, Mallard" The detective interrumpted, "Why are you turning people into stone again?
"Moi?" the kingpin smiled showing his sharp teeth "What makes you think it was me?"
"Do you truly believe someone has forgotten those weeks you had the Storyteller as your Koi Pond centre piece?

A duras penas, levantó la cabeza para poderla mirarla a través de los cristales destrozados de sus gafas y dijo en tono frío como el hielo

Somehow, he managed to lift his head enough to make eye contact through his shattered glasses and said with tone as cold as ice:
