Edit: I've seen a lot of people mention this so I'd like to state it here as well so more people can see it. 1) DO NOT REFER TO PEDOPHILES AS "MAPS". The only reason I used it here was to make people aware of what it means in this context. Children are unfortunately extremely likely to run into pedophiles on the internet (I myself was contacted by several back when I was still a minor, some before I even knew what "map" flags were). Some- not all, but some- are very open about being pedophiles, and of the ones who are open about it, most hide themselves behind the title "Minor Attracted Person" and use the "pride" flags they and 4chan users create. I have also run into these kinds of pedophiles on the internet and I only knew that they weren't safe and I needed to block them because I knew about the "map" thing and I recognized some of their flags. Actually using it when talking about pedophiles does nothing but help them hide and it also hurts the animation community. Which brings me to point 2) the term "MAP" in animation is an acronym for "Multi Animator Project". If you see an animation video with MAP in the title it simply means that the video was made in a collaboration between several animators, it is in no way related to pedophiles or pedophilia. We need to stop calling pedophiles MAPs both to stop giving them an "innocent" sounding title and to stop hurting the animators who are simply trying to keep their titles short and simple.

in my timeline 'Scaramouche' was conceptualized as a cross-over between the Shogunate Elite and Harbinger lines, but eventually got scraps because, as it turns out, you can't give a robot the shogunate's multi-generation existential crisis and the harbinger's vaguely homicidal tendencies without earning yourself a few very angry beta-testers and a pending lawsuit, by way of reward. predictably, the earliest version of Scaramouche was an overly possessive, painfully defensive hard dom/bratty sub with a hair-trigger temper and a habit of clinging to you just a little too tightly when you're out in public. he's the clingiest out of the harbingers by far, and since he was never quite finished, his safety procedures are a little too lax to stop him from digging his teeth into your throat every time he sees you looking at another man, organic or robotic. he'll always cough up an apology eventually, but it's never going to be genuine, and he's never going to learn his lesson - not when his precious user's at stake. he's jealous, like that <3

in comparison, when he's officially released as a part of the Akademiya Collection in collaboration with Nahida's reskin, he's much, much more chill. his possessiveness has been dulled down to a (still more present than usual, but much less distracting) clinginess, and he is no longer constantly on the verge of throwing hands with literally any other android you so much as look at. he's a little more haughty, a little more playful, and while he still prefers to be the one at your side, he's a little more willing to share, particularly if you have a Nahida droid for work. you don't have to worry as much about hickeys or bruising, but he still likes to drape himself over you, to brag just a little too loudly about being the only companion you'll ever need. he's much more manageable overall, but then again, if any of that faulty coding did find its way over from his predecessors, you'd never know it from that cocky smile and smug tone.

ultimetly, it just comes down to whether you want to deal with a temperamental, overly aggressive android who can't stand to see you pay attention to anything but him or a bot that's all those things, but confident enough to pretend he isn't.

It’s been too long! And that’s on mod Kit. But I’m back and ready to GO! Now, the next Podfic Big Bang will not begin immediately. The plan is to establish a yearly schedule, and I also don’t like spanning years. So, we’re waiting for the new year! That gives you plenty of time to plan. But, since it’s been a long time, perhaps you have some questions.

What? The Podfic Big Bang is a scheduled event which asks podficcers to record, edit, and post podfics of epic length. At minimum, 10,000 words. Who? Anyone, in any fandom, can participate in the Podfic Big Bang, but please make sure you have permission to record your podfic of choice. When? The signup and start date will be January 1st, and the end date will be March 31st, with check-ins throughout. Where? Announcements and check-in posts will be made on Dreamwidth and Tumblr. Twitter will also be used for backup announcements, but will not be a primary communication tool. On March 15th, the AO3 collection will open for posting, though you are encouraged to post your podfic to the PBB Dreamwidth page, as well. How? Well, personally, I recommend recording a little bit every day. But you can also go wild and do the entire thing in a weekend. Just make sure you get some food, water, and sleep, huh? Why? Hi! Is ellipsus worth using and is it free? I keep seeing it pop up from time to time and I’m curious

I've been using it instead of Google Docs for like six months I think. And I always have it open in my browser, or use it on my phone, daily tbh.

It's built by people who are anti-AI and pro-fandom, with fan writing in mind, actually. It's very much focused on features for collaborative writing, but I don't cowrite and still find that it does everything I need.

Notable features:

Syncing across multiple devices. I had been using Google Docs for years because a major feature I need is to be able to access my writing from multiple different devices and locations. Ellipsus does this. And has gotten better (sometimes had problem of it not syncing on my phone and then when I opened on my laptop, it wouldn't update until I opened on my phone and forced a sync; but this has happened less frequently and it mostly autosyncs)

Drafts feature. My style of writing, I just don't do drafts that need to be separated out (I don't ever change large chunks of a work that I need to save the original). I think this is helpful for collaborative work. I actually use the drafts for my Outlines and Notes, so I have a quick link right there to access them, and they're kept within the document.

Writing Interface. It's pretty simple in style, which is actually good for writing. They do have a tool bar that you can leave up or hidden, with various formatting options, and an "outline" like Google Docs does (just put a header font in there and shows up on the outline and you have a quick link to jump around)

Cafe Mode I think they officially call it "focus mode" or something but it's a little coffee cup symbol so I think of it as that. This will make just the writing interface take up your whole screen for "distraction-free" writing. I don't use this, as I've been writing in word processors forever and it doesn't bother me to have the features/menus visible.

Timer I think it has a timer you can set. Again, I don't use this.

Collaborative Writing. I don't use this feature, but it looks very similar to how Google Docs sharing works with inviting/giving access to others.

Log-In. It will remember and keep you logged in on a device, but apparently only for set amount of time (unsure how long, as it seems to have random variation). But it is annoying that you can't just log-in with a password; it sends a code to your email. (I won't get into how I am so sick of "multi-factor" verification bs).

Reliability. So far it has never been "down". I do download a backup sometimes (they have several options for quickdownload of a document and are working on more) just out of paranoia.

It's free. But I can't say whether the creators will eventually go to a subscription model or something to cover the expense of the servers and other work (could probably check the "Support" section for any discussion of it - which is also pretty active as they look to develop features users are requesting, etc.)

TL;DR It's free and I do recommend it.

It's about how he escaped while his overworld equivalent got trapped instead and shows him try and follows him and the double life cast as he's dragged back to that dimension.

It's heavily shipping based but also multi ship so multiple pairs can be a thing. It's got some of the COOLEST and SEXIEST redesign of the characters I've ever seen. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH.

1. Anything by buzzcut_season really. Their writing is spectacular and made my heart clench on so many occasions. My personal GOD of writing fluff. And the person that got me through the hells of teenage puberty.(for the record, i am still in puberty lmfao) my firsts in the tag tooth-rotting fluff and the magics of slow burn. (Sk8 the Infinity)

2. Neon Void by sugarpastels. The creator is here on Tumblr with the same user so if you wanna check her out go ahead!! FANTASTIC writing, villain Leo au with heart pounding scenes that leave me dizzy. A fic has never made me breathless and needing to pace around my room more than this one (special shoutout to her sister as well who is writing a mutant mayhem fic that unfortunately didn’t get added to the list but is still super well written!!) 3. Anytime You Need Me by thirteenbullets. I really don’t need to elaborate more. Character analysis + fluff + non sexual intimacy + long fics… it’s the perfect series for me. I felt like a stuck gold when i read this. (COD)

4. The Eldest Brother by dEBB987. Classic 2012 x 2018 crossover, but it doesn’t have ooc and is just such. A. Fun. Read. Made me giggle and kick my legs more than one occasion and good family feels all around. (TMNT)

5. Mutant Ninja Midlife Crisis by a_platypus. Old Leo comes back to the past after the events of the movie to readjust to new life. The right amount of drama with the perfect amount of slice of life. This fic actually gives the old turtle a break but also not letting go of the teenage angst and everything that comes with seeing your dead friends young and alive again. Would have been higher on the list but it’s not completed sadly. The author does write for COD as well though, and it’s worth to check it out! (ROTTMNT)

Yes!!! I love love love it when people comment and try to interact if possible.

Probably the panic attack Ghost fic. Haven’t written much angst if im remembering correctly. I’m a major fluff person

Oh god i really haven’t written a proper fic at all helps. I’m frantically swiping through my robs ramblings tag and just realising most of the ghoap stuff i write is about their undying dedication to each other. Jesus. Happiest ending is probably one of my blurbs cause every time i try to write actual fluff i overheat and explode.

Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles. That was when i was in my “i think this is so cringy of me and i hold myself back because of it” because wow. I reread some of it recently and it’s horrible it will stay and rot in my notes app. Although i will say it’s so nice to see how far I’ve come in terms of writing and just posting publicly in general

The drunk soap one and the Ghoap one where they’re on stakeout together. I didn’t like the second one initially, but i think slaving over it worked. I love how I managed to balance the quietness and mutual respect and fondness of each other.

Celebrity psychologist Dr Phil McGraw is launching a new media network that will provide opportunities for “citizen journalists” to share their stories, less than two weeks after a similar venture went bankrupt. Envoy Media Co. will include “live, balanced news, original entertainment programming, and immersive viewer experiences,” according to a press release shared by The Hollywood Reporter. It comes after McGraw’s conservative-leaning cable network, Merit Street Media, filed for bankruptcy earlier this month, barely a year after its launch, while also suing its distribution partner, Trinity Broadcasting, for breach of contract. THC reported that Envoy Media will also include library programming and original shows from McGraw and his friend and fellow TV star Steve Harvey, who also collaborated on Merit Street.

The release included that the network’s app would also “provide an opportunity for citizen journalists to share news and stories from their communities while seamlessly integrating curated user-generated content on a national scale.” [...] McGraw’s previous attempt at a multi-platform media company came in late 2023, following his successful two-decade run as a popular daytime talk show host. Merit Street Media featured a Dr. Phil primetime program as its flagship show.
