Extremely pissed off rn...

Toon Boom decided to get rid of their perpetual licenses and are now charging over $1000 a year for Harmony.

I got a license for Harmony 22, but who knows how long they'll let me keep it before they pull it like adobe did with all their old perpetual licenses...

Also I wasn't able to get the perpetual license for Storyboard Pro, and all the major studios basically require it for storyboard work.

It now costs almost $600 dollars a year. For a job that's so unreliable to get right now (at least in the US) that you'll be lucky if you're working for several solid months.

I don't know how the hell this is sustainable... I just don't know.

I guess I chose a good time to leave.

I have not forgotten the adorable mouse that won the poll for what I should sew next but my job decided the day before we switch to a new software to entirely change how paperwork is processed in the new software. I am the one who has to train everyone in the change. I do not know how to process the paperwork the new way and can't learn because the IT guy did not give me the permissions in the system to access the buttons needed so I just can't see the entire interface at all. I do not have the mental spoons for pattern designing at the moment so I might just sew a baby blanket or something instead

Why can’t the average American see that AI can’t replace a real human any step of the way. No matter what AI comes up with it needs to be looked over and interpreted by a real life person so that it actually makes sense. Literally any AI application, art, science, tech, cannot work without centuries of real people’s work and research or make sense without a real person’s human brain looking at it.
