Hey pattern people! Let's talk about something we've all struggled with - turning our scattered designs into collections that actually make sense together. You know that feeling when you've got dozens of beautiful patterns but they're just not... vibing? Yeah, we've been there too! 😅

After countless late nights, numerous coffee cups, and maybe a few (okay, many) moments of staring blankly at our screens, we've learned some things about creating cohesive collections that we just HAVE to share with our fellow artists.

Here's the thing - we used to think pattern collections were all about matching colors and perfect technique. But want to know what really changed the game for us? Understanding that collections are more like telling stories. Each pattern is just a different chapter in the same book!

#i watch the first episode of death note and suddenly see the world in colour like in one of those fanfictions #now that ive collected a few of these i really am seeing such a pattern of my Media Type #it boggles the mind still that this series is something that feels like it was made in a lab specifically for me and i somehow didnt pick it #up until my twenties. i mean i maintain thats a good thing but still it's odd #like this feels like it should have been formative media for me but thank god it wasn't #rookposting #it is nice to be so into something that i feel like i can create for again #and thank you all for tolerating me slamming through your walls shouting about a twenty year old series

PATTERN WEEK

Pattern collection inspired by Edgar Allen Poe whose work I love since my teenage years.

I plan to do quite a few of these. (Hopefully getting better with time.) But I realised it's much more time consuming than I previously thought. So I changed the schedule plan: in this way if I don't finish a little collection like this I will do another Random Week in that month.

Throwback to my Sea Otter!! This cross stitch pattern has 6 variations you can choose to stitch! An earth, a starfish, a rainbow heart, a book, an otter pup, or a skull. What a variety! Now that I look at the skull, it just makes for a funny pattern.
