1954 Plymouth Belmont Concept Roadster
This one-off concept car was designed by Chrysler Corporation, under the direction of Virgil Exner, for the 1954 Chicago Auto Show and New York Autorama Shows. The body was built by Briggs Manufacturing Company on the Plymouth 114-inch wheelbase chassis. This was the first Plymouth to carry a body constructed of fiberglass and the first Plymouth fitted with a V-8 engine.
This 1954 Plymouth Belmont 2-door roadster concept car is powered by a Dodge Poly-Head V-8 241-cubic inch engine delivering 150 horsepower and paired with a Hy-drive transmission.
After the 1954 auto show circuit, the Belmont made its film debut in the 1954 motion picture Bundle of Joy, starring Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. In 1957 it was used in Blake Edward's film, Mister Cory starring Tony Curtis.
Later in life, the Belmont received a restoration by Mike Fennel Restorations. After the work was completed, it was shown at several prestigious concours in the United States and has won many awards over the years. In recent years it has been shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, Blackhawk Collection, Imperial Palace Auto Collection, and Ele Chesney Collection.

J2 Gold Panel Minncon 2023
Quick psa/reminder that this con took place while the actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA, is on strike. This means the boys cannot talk about any past, present, or future projects. But for the sake of clarity, I will be mentioning projects the boys are referring to by name.
Before the panel starts Jared notices a fan with an I heart Jensen sign, and says he does too.
Jared shows off a bit of his and Jensen's unspoken lingo, he does the sign for a brief pause. They got it from their director, Jensen says they had a lot of different hand signals for communication, and they also had names for certain types of shots. Jared mentions they had a friend in Van who's a larger individual and was always smoking pot so if they start the scene with a high and wide shot they'd call it the Murph. When the camera is on the dolly track and does a creep in if it's a little creep they'd call it a Mickey Rooney then Jensen says there are other ones they won't mention because they're very inappropriate.
Jared reminds fans that actors are currently on strike and thanks the fans for their understanding if there are any questions that they cannot answer. Jensen says that Jared can talk about his gardening skills and Jared says he loves him some zucchini and that he harvested some the previous week...I'm not gonna say it, but you know what I'm thinking 😉
Do they follow the Texas country music scene?
Jared always goes back to when in High School or Middle School Robert Earl King. Or Pat Green.
Jensen mentions Jerry Jeff Walker. He also says Texas certainly has its own country core, it's not like traditional Nashville country. x
The next fan had already asked Jared this question and now they want to know Jensen's answer: what kind of car would he have if money was no problem?
He doesn't have a holy grail and the reason he doesn't is because if he did he'd spend all his time figuring out how to get it; he'll watch car auction shows, used to watch them with Clif, and every one of them he'll want. He did see one car once, he and Jared had the opportunity to go to Concours d'Elegance which is the best, greatest car show there is in Pebble Beach. They close off the 18-hole golf course and line up the cars all along the fairways. It's right there on the coast and they were walking past the pre-world war cars and he saw an Austin Martin that took his breath away. He was like "this is outrageous you probably can't even get your hands on this" but if he ever had the opportunity to own something like that- he took more pictures of that car than any other car. x
The next fan doesn't have a question, they just wanted the boys to wish her a happy birthday and also show the tattoo she has of Jensen's face on the inside of her thigh, which took her 6hrs to get done. Jared jokes Jensen can't last six hours 🤣
What's the backstory behind the bracelets Jensen sometimes wears?
They've all been gifted to him by someone in his life, usually his wife or his daughter but he has friends that he has also traded with; there's always some sort of a back story to what he's wearing he doesn't usually go shopping and just buy stuff.
Then they get told a naughty joke: if a blackbird has black babies and a bluebird has blue babies what bird has no babies? A swallow. Both men have to walk away from the mic 🤣
Jared asks the next fan if they have any babies and even he's wondering why he says what comes into his head 😂
If they had to pick tattoos for each other what would they pick out?
Jensen points towards the fan that has his face tattoed on her inner tigh and says she already has it he would put his face on Jared's and Jared says "yeah I'd be more handsome." Gentlemen 👀
Jensen then says would put a bear growling on Jared's right hand. And Jared's like "why do they exist?" and Jensen just goes "to scare big things like you." Which I found a cute little exchange.
Jared would make Jensen get an enter at your own risk and an arrow pointing to somewhere that he's not gonna say but it would be in an old English cursive writing. Again 👀
Jared asks the fan what they would put on them and the fan replies that they would ask what they love and what describes them
Jensen comments that he and Jared had talked about getting something that represents SPN because when you're in it you're not thinking about how long the show is gonna go and so you know they talked about maybe getting the anti-possession tattoo or there was also talk about symbols of MOL but it's really come down that now that they're a few years removed from it and they're able to look back on it they're able to realize how big that part of their lives was for them and how forever it will be. That's not to say tattoos always have to be amazingly meaningful, some are just fun, but he feels they would because of how that show impacted their lives. x
If they were in Van and had a ping pong tournament with the cast and crew of SPN who would make it to the gold round and come out the victor?
They would. Jared says he thinks it happened a few times and they had to hide said ping pong table from them because they would sweat their makeup off.
Jensen says they would play that game so intensely as if they were running a marathon. They would be called back on set and be out of breath, show up panting- they had very intense games. I wanna make a dirty comment so badly involving the other things they were probably might have been doing on that ping pong table but I'm gonna keep it moving.
Jared says they represented Texas pretty damn well, and they're asked if they doubled up or destroyed the other. Both say it was pretty split, pretty even. It got to a point where they were just exposing each other's weaknesses like Jared would figure out Jensen's forehand was a little weaker that day so he'd send it straight into his forehand. x
Next is a fan wanting to know what they thought of her tattoo, and if they could give her artist a shoutout. They thought it was really awesome and the artist did a great job. x
If they go to a diner how likely is it that they would actually order a salad and a cheeseburger?
Jared says at a dinner he's kind of greasy spoon type of guy so like a burger or something. That's at a diner, but he probably orders salads more than burgers.
Jensen would probably go burger or burrito if they have it. And Jared says that's cause it's probably 2am, probably on the way home. He knows hubby so well 🥰
Jensen comments there's a dinner close to where he lives that they go to sometimes, and he's a creature of habit so they have this big massive burrito that he has no business eating all of but he does.
He mentions it has hot sauce so the fan asks if they like spicy food, they do, and Jensen says he likes jalapeños on his pizza all the time. They also mention Hot Ones and how they'd like to do it. x

1951 Cadillac Series 75 sedan, one of 1,090 examples built that year. The wood trim was crafted by Maurice Schwartz of Pasadena, one of the last custom houses of the classic era. A 1952 Cadillac grille was fitted because alterations were completed in that year.
Cowboy movie star Gene Autry purchased the car for use on his ranch, and eventually sold it in 1989. After a complete refurbishment, the Cadillac was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance in 2008.

Top Classic Car Shows in the US
Tumblr media
Every year, car enthusiasts, industry professionals, and media gather at various auto shows to showcase vehicle collections across categories. While many shows highlight the latest models and automotive technology, others look to the past to celebrate unique classic vehicles like hot rods.
The Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance occurring annually in California in the third week of August is among the nation's top classic auto shows. Originating from the French-based Concours D'Elegance, this show attracts car lovers globally and features the most lavish and unique vintage vehicles from all decades. The event celebrates car culture from old to modern-day exotic autos. The Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance also celebrates history, heritage, technical merit, and automobile beauty and style.
The Woodward Dream Cruise, also one of America's largest auto shows, is а single-day event held each summer in Detroit. The show is a major occasion in the city for classic muscle car and hot rod fans. More than a million people attend the show yearly to see around 40,000 classic cars. As a communal event, all can enjoy watching these classic automobiles cruise the 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue.
The Iola Classic Car Show in Wisconsin is a unique, long-running car event in the US. The event is held annually in the second week of July for three days in a 300-acre venue. Car enthusiasts meet to share stories about their vehicle’s history. The event also features a car show, auctions, parts swaps, and live entertainment. Additionally, the show includes more than 2,500 vehicles - cars, trucks, and motorcycles - and numerous swap spaces for buying, selling, or trading automotive parts and related items. Original vehicles built before 1942 enjoy free entry.
The Eastern Regional Fall Meet auto show by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) takes place in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Held every first weekend of October, the show venue hosts over 1,000 cars during the four-day event. Over 9,000 flea fair dealers also find the opportunity to sell antique automotive parts, accessories, and memorabilia.
Hot August Nights, а large car show, celebrates classic American cars of the 1950s and 1960s and rock and roll music. Occurring the first week of August in Reno, Nevada, it attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators and showcases about 5,000 classic vehicles. The event also features vintage trailer revival shows, drag races, and auctions.
Wells Motor Company, Avon Park, Florida’s sole Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge dealership, hosts a classic and custom car show every year. The show features over 150 classic vehicles across various makes and models. Admission is free for both car owners and onlookers. Nearby, Sebring International Raceway enhances the event’s appeal with vintage car displays and scheduled races.
Every June, the Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) organizes the Back to the 50’s Weekend. This popular classic car show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul celebrates classic vehicles and hot rods. Attendees enjoy live music, an airplane flyover, a massive swap meeting with vendors featuring various offerings, and activities for kids. Recently, the event has grown to attract more than 12,000 classic vehicles and hundreds of thousands of automotive enthusiasts.

Aston Martin’s Superlative F1-Capable Valkyrie Hypercar
Tumblr media
For drivers seeking performance that bridges the Hypercar and F1 segments, Aston Martin's Valkyrie Hypercar fits the bill. Originally unveiled as the AM-RB 001 Concept in 2016, the Valkyrie represented a groundbreaking collaboration between Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Aston Martin.
In creating the AM-RB 001, designer Adrian Newey tamped down a concept he had already tested out with Gran Turismo long-distance endurance racing. Dubbed the Valkyrie in 2017, the AM-RB 001 prototype combined a 6.5-litre Cosworth V12 engine with a supplementary electric motor capable of producing 1,000 brake horsepower (bhp) per ton. As described by Top Gear at the time, "The Valkyrie isn't a road car jacked up on F1 power figures; it's an F1 car with its edges chamfered for the road."
Initially presented as a road-going hypercar, the Valkyrie was expanded with the announcement of a track-only AMR Pro version. The prototype was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018. As Newey described it, "The road car draws extensively from the knowledge I have gained during my career in Formula One. But the AMR Pro version has allowed me to work beyond the constraints of road legality, or indeed practicality."
In December 2018, Aston Martin showcased the Cosworth engine as a single production piece capable of producing 11,100 rpm and more than 1,000 bhp. With the supplementary e-motor, the vehicle could achieve a max of 1,160bhp and 664 lb-ft of power. The driver inhabited what Top Gear has described as a "tiny teardrop carbon passenger cell" in the center of that sumptuous power.
By the 2019 British Grand Prix weekend, Chris Goodwin, an Aston Martin test driver, was demonstrating the superior performance of the road-going Valkyrie by lapping other competitive drivers while focusing on fine-tuning powertrain performance and handling. Red Bull F1 drivers Max Verstappen and Alex Albon subsequently took the prototype for test rides. As Albon described it, the car didn't have quite the same downforce as an F1 car, "but you still feel the Gs in the corners, and it definitely reacts closer to an F1 car than a normal road car." As for Verstappen, his only comment was that it was "a lot of fun."
In March 2020, the first Valkyrie to actually get tested on roads excelled in its foray on bumpy rural Northamptonshire routes outside the Aston Martin Silverstone facility. In June 2021, five years into the project, the AMR Pro finally debuted with an expanded 40-car production run. Designed to challenge at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the vehicle would have faced racing rulebook issues, so plans to actually race it at the storied endurance event were scrapped.
With the 40 AMR Pro edition vehicles delivered, Aston Martin capped the coupe road version at a production run of 150 and, in August 2021, introduced the 85-run first-generation Valkyrie Spider convertible prototype at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. This innovative $2.75 million vehicle paired a removable carbon fiber roof with dihedral doors, front-hinged and designed to rotate out and up.
Finally, three years beyond the original schedule, customer deliveries of the road Valk commenced in November 2021. Company head Tobias Moers noted at the time that the Valkyrie program had tested the company's engineers to the limit. A March 2023 Top Gear article brought attention to the 1,000kg of downforce in the vehicle, achieved through an under-surface design that includes venturi tunnels. The result is a car with a race-car tight cockpit that appears to "float above the road, perforated by empty spaces. From some angles, you can see straight through it."

It was at that exact moment Fred found out he was too sexy for the catwalk. Shocked from the directors announcement all he could muster was a faint “Right” in acknowledgment.
Fred did his little dance on the catwalk. It was his thing. How could this ‘too sexy’ thing be? Fred sat in a daze before recalling advice he received from Hillary Clinton after placing second at The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance cat show. He needed to reflect to find the truth in his experience.
Thinking on it, Fred did wake up that day feeling like a glow stick. His new beauty routine was beginning to kick in and it was doing so BIG time. In the dressing room, Fred caught two co-actors and the director eyeing him while touching up his very brief outfit for the shoot.
This was the last thing Fred expected working as a model/actor at the ripe age of 23. Everyone knows your best days bloomed in high school or maybe… maybe college if you washed yourself in enough debt. Still, that was pushing it, and to Fred peaking so late in the game just rang strange. At 22, most of life simply slipped away for Fred as it did for everyone.
Did it though?
Fred felt like he might be losing his mind. He never questioned the facts of life before and decided to dig deeper. Admittedly, it was downright difficult for him earlier not to notice the mirror in the dressing room winking at him. How did he just toss that observation away?
“Oh goodness!” Said Fred as reality began to set it.
If Fred was going to be truly honest with himself he needed to accept the fact that he could not help but radiate this new raw glistening primal energy. It just exuded right out him…
Another faint ‘Right’ fell from his lips.
OMG. Fred WAS TOO SEXY FOR THE CATWALK!!!
The truth hit Fred like a brick wall. As the wall of shock began to fade, Fred then considered the possibility his growing and exuberant sexiness was spilling directly into his work. He banked three jobs in two days and his agent had him on hold for two more gigs the very next day. In his twenty years of modeling, Fred had never been so busy. The world demanded him.
With that, an elongated “Riiiiiiight” voiced itself and then a question. What else was he too sexy for?!?
Fred quickly scratched the thought. It was too soon. Way too soon. Fred needed to take the time to really process his being too sexy for the catwalk first. This was a BIG DEAL…
Fred stopped himself there.
No. No he did not need to process his exuding runway sexiness. It just was. No questions about it. What Fred really needed to do was to feed his cat Fluffy.
Fred failed to serve up the Fancy Feast that morning because his cat was in the most wretched of moods. At the peak of his Thigh Master workout, seemingly out of nowhere, Fluffy began wildly swiping left at everything in sight. It took her three full terrifying minutes to go full circle leaving a perfect 5 foot counterclockwise path of destruction smack dab in the middle of his brand new green house.
Among the ironic serenity of glass and green his cats jealousy materialized for Fred right then and there. Had this been going on all along? The dramatic image pierced every thought in Fred’s brain, and its first recollection sent shivers up and down his spine.
It was alarming to say the least, and the first and only time Fred was thankful Fluffy lost most of her claws at a dicey pet grooming salon with a “C” restaurant rating her previous owner took her too. Fred briefly fumbled with searching for an explanation, before being washed over in a stillness he never felt before.
Another soft spoken “Right” fell from Fred’s lips.
A wave of realization spilled through Fred’s entire being moving in from ground level then zooming to the sky straight out of his head.
OMG. Fred was too sexy for his cat!!
Well…
Fred fell silent for the next three minutes completely overwhelmed with enlightenment. This was just all to much. On the other hand, it did give a possible explanation for the missing hair gel…
Did he need that?
A deep breath was followed by a final softly blurted “Right”.
Another hard reality settled in. Fred needed to clean up Fluffy’s mess when he got home, and without a doubt the hangry factor was escalating itself by the minute. A wave of empathy highlighted his blooming emotional intelligence.
“That poor pussy …poor pussy cat.” Said Fred.
Fred paused and closed his eyes becoming starkly aware of a unshakable connection through mind, body, and soul. Unified and solid Fred opened his eyes to take in the world as the newly realized person he was.
Seeing the photo shoot already covered every possible sexy place it could go and then some, Right Said Fred left.
No reported sightings of Right Said Fred on a catwalk exist to this day.

1936 Bugatti T57S Atlantic Coupe
The third of four Atlantic coupes built by Jean Bugatti, this one is famously known for having been hit by a train at a railroad crossing in the French countryside in 1955. Much has been written regarding this car's authenticity, and it is true that not every panel is original. Yet before that tragedy this car had experienced a storied and historically important life. Many a race car has been saved from the scrap heap because it had a unique provenance. This car was worth preserving for its unique beauty alone, as well as for the same reasons that any unique historical object is saved: to continue its history, to honor the craft of the original builders, and to illustrate it's story to those who may not already know it.
This car is uniquely different from the other Atlantics as it had been restyled soon after it was built. The evidence indicates that the styling changes had been commissioned by the car's original owners and completed by renowned coachbuilder Joseph Figoni, who had his own singular ideas about flowing surfaces and shape.
The first owners, Jacques and Yvonne Holtzschuch, took delivery of 57473 in 1936. In the earliest known photograph of the car, taken at the Concours d'Elegance de Juan les Pins in 1937, the body was black with a light beige pigskin interior. In the next known photograph, taken in 1951 at the Circuit International de Vitesse de Nice, the body and interior had been significantly restyled. In order to participate in the race, the body had also been repainted blue in accordance with the Code Sportif International de la F.I.A. After changing hands several times, the car was eventually purchased in 1952 by René Chatard, who had it repainted gray near the end of 1954. Chatard and a female companion were driving near Gien, France when they were struck and killed by a train on August 22, 1955.
Paul-André Berson recovered the remains in 1965, and started a decade-long project to rebuild the car. In the restoration he chose to work with the intact right-hand coachwork, and replaced the damaged parts. Upon completion in 1977, he sold the car to collector Nicholas Seydoux, who later had it restored again by André Lecoq. In 2006 the current owner purchased the car from Seydoux, and the unused dashboard, trim pieces, engine block, mechanical parts and original damaged body panels from Berson.
The car was then on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the perfect environment for the world to rediscover this very special car.

Arguably the finest 1931Cord L-29 Convertible in the world!
The Cord L-29 was one of those gentle leaders. The first major American car to offer front-wheel drive to the public, it came at a time of conservatism in automotive engineering, further deadened by the crushing weight of the Great Depression. Nonetheless, its engineering proved a starting point for those who followed, and who, inspired by it, worked until front-wheel drive was the mass success that it is today. If success is measured not in years of production or volume produced, but, like leadership, in the amount of influence it had on those who followed, the L-29 was the first successful American front-drive production car.
The Cord Front Drive (as the factory always called it) was the namesake of E.L. Cord, who was scarcely 35 when the first examples began rolling out of his Auburn Automobile Company in Auburn, Indiana. Its development was credited to the talented engineer Cornelius Van Ranst, working using some of Indianapolis legend Harry Miller's front-drive patents, and Auburn Chief Engineer Herbert Snow.
Essentially and simplistically, the idea was to take a rear-wheel drive car and turn everything around. It began with the chassis, which featured an innovative central X-brace to provide extra rigidity and rode on newly designed suspension, designed by Van Ranst and based on de Dion ideas. Brakes were moved inboard, as on the Miller Indy cars. On this rather sophisticated chassis rode a Lycoming straight eight, another fine Cord Corporation product, and it displaced 298 cubic inches and produced 125 horsepower. The engine was reversed so that the crankshaft exited the block at the front of the car and met a three-speed transmission that sat between the front wheels. The relocation of the transmission to the front of the car required an ingeniously long shift lever that extended from the L-29's dashboard down the length of the engine compartment and ended at the gearbox.
All this was wrapped in Alan Leamy's beautiful coachwork, which was outstanding for its refreshingly simple beauty. The Cord's innovative chassis engineering allowed it to stand only five feet tall. Leamy emphasized the lowness with clean, classic lines; long, flowing fenders; a simple radiator shell, painted to blend into the body; and wide beltline moldings that encouraged the use of factory-suggested two-tone color schemes. The interior boasted wide, comfortable seats, facing a fully instrumented dashboard with the distinctive dogleg shifter handle.
The Cord was mechanically genius and stylistically gorgeous. In the Great Depression, genius and beauty oft went unnoticed in favor of more practical matters. Production of the L-29 began in Auburn in late-1929 and wound up in late-1931 with a token run of 1932 models. Only about 5,000 had been made.
This cabriolet is one of the survivors. Certified and authenticated by the Auburn #Cord Duesenberg Club as being an original L-29 #Cabriolet, its history includes long-term California ownership by enthusiasts Ernie Mendicki, Bob Morehouse, and William "Chip" Connor. Connor, a noted collector whose cars have won Best of Show at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, acquired this car in 1983, and following its restoration, it was an award-winner in the special L-29 class at Pebble Beach in 1987. ( Sold for $407,000 )

Sydney Car Restoration Centre - Lewisham Smash Repairs
What is the highest level of car restoration?
Car restoration can be approached at different levels, and the extent of restoration can vary based on the goals of the project and the condition of the vehicle. Here are several levels of car restoration, starting from the basic to the most comprehensive:
Tumblr media
Driver-Level Restoration:
Focuses on making the car functional and safe for regular use.
Mechanical repairs and essential cosmetic work.
Originality and authenticity may not be a top priority.
Street Show-Level Restoration:
Includes more extensive repairs and cosmetic work than a driver-level restoration.
Attention to detail in terms of appearance and functionality.
May have some modern upgrades for improved performance and safety.
Concours-Level Restoration:
Aims for a high level of authenticity and originality.
Every detail is meticulously researched and replicated to match the original factory specifications.
Often involves sourcing rare and hard-to-find parts.
Judges at concours events scrutinize the car's accuracy against factory standards.
Concours d'Elegance-Level Restoration:
Takes the concept of concours-level restoration further by emphasizing elegance and style.
In addition to technical accuracy, aesthetics and presentation are crucial.
The car is showcased as a work of art, often at prestigious events where aesthetics are as important as authenticity.
Pebble Beach-Level Restoration:
This level represents the pinnacle of car restoration, often seen at events like the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Requires an extraordinary level of craftsmanship, research, and dedication.
Cars are restored to an absolutely pristine condition, often better than when they originally left the factory.
Every aspect, from mechanical components to the finest details of the interior and exterior, is perfected.
It's important to note that the level of restoration chosen depends on the owner's preferences, the intended use of the vehicle, and the resources available. The higher the level of restoration, the more time, expertise, and financial investment it typically requires.
