Help with Statistics Homework to Build Confidence in Stats Class
Statistics is an essential course for all disciplines including business, social science, engineering, and data science. Statistics, in particular, is among the most difficult subjects that many students struggle with. Challenges often arise from its mix of theoretical and practical aspects of the subject, mathematical computations involved, and precision needed in the analysis of data. It is not easy to develop confidence in statistics, but with the right approach, tutorials, resources, and change of mindset it is possible to master statistics rather than to fear it. In this article, you will discover how students can increase their confidence in statistics class by seeking the right help with statistics homework and how quality assistance can keep them one step ahead.
Tumblr media
Why Statistics Feels Intimidating and Why Confidence Matters
Statistics is intimidating for many students, often due to a few core challenges:
Complexity and Abstract Concepts: Statistics involves abstract thinking which is more complex than algebra or calculus, requiring proficiency in concepts such as probabilities and statistical modeling. Most students often find it difficult to identify which statistical tests to use, or when to use a t-test instead of an ANOVA or comprehend what p-values and confidence intervals interpret.
Data Analysis Requirements: When it comes to statistics the goal is not to solve a problem, but to analyze and interpret data accurately. In the case of students who are not conversant with data manipulation tools such as Excel, SPSS, or R this can be very challenging. Application of these software tools creates an added level of difficulty making it more challenging for students to carry out their analysis.
Pressure of Application: Statistics indeed has a purpose and is not just limited to classroom teaching. It requires students to apply knowledge in solving difficult, real-life issues. It can be intimidating at times, and that’s pretty understandable because there isn’t usually a single correct answer, but rather different perspectives and interpretations based on data.
Due to these difficulties, statistics hinder the confidence of even the most disciplined learners. Due to lack of confidence, may result in procrastination, reduced performance as well as a tendency to not seek assistance from other fellow students and professors. Utilizing the right resources and guidance, students can regain confidence and develop a strong foundation in statistics.
The Role of Homework Help in Building Confidence
To obtain confidence in a statistics class one of the best things to do is to get reliable experts for high-quality help with statistics homework. Expert homework assistance goes a long way when it comes to simplifying complex topics, explaining confusing concepts, or demonstrating solutions that mimic real-life problems. Here’s how it can transform a student's learning experience:
1. Focus on Tough Topics: A tutor or homework service can give explanations that match the grasping power of a student. The solutions provided by homework help experts are self-explanatory which becomes easier for students to grasp. Difficult topics are broken down into manageable parts for easy understanding and make it engaging for students. 2. Practice with Feedback: Practicing problems along with instant feedback is critical for mastering statistics. Most assignment help services provide guidance at every step along with helpful feedback to the students to see where they are wrong and advice on suitable methods to use. 3. Application of Statistical Software: Learning advanced stat software like R, SPSS, or Python is always a challenge for beginners. Assignment help services can teach students how to use them properly, with hands-on examples of coding and choosing the right statistical methods. 4. Improved Time Management and Stress Reduction: Solving statistics homework involves a lot of time and energy. With guided assistance, students are able to solve problems faster, and with less confusion thereby cutting down time and work overload. This helps them to be able to keep up with their coursework.
Our service is aimed at students who have difficulties with completing their statistics homework on their own. Here students can find helpful resources on basic and advanced statistical methods, and analysis tools, as well as useful tips for solving problems. All in all, students not only get their assignments done but also receive useful information that can help them build confidence in the subject.
Key Strategies for Building Confidence in Statistics Class
Besides using homework help, students can take specific actions to help herself or himself. Here are some effective strategies that can make a significant difference:
1. Understand the Basics Before Solving a problem
Indeed, statistics as a subject has a foundational structure; understanding the basic concepts first paves way for handling advanced concepts. Some of the key basic topics that are essential are descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, geometric mean, standard deviation) probability/probabilities, and basic probability distributions. By mastering these basic concepts, students are in a good position to learn more complicated concepts like Inferential statistics and regression analysis.
A good source to sharpen your basic statistics knowledge is – “Statistics for Dummies” by Deborah Rumsey, this book breaks down essential statistical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
2. Use Reliable Resources and Textbooks
Good textbooks and resources provide clarity.” Some highly recommended textbooks for students learning statistics include:
• “The Essentials of Statistics” by Mario Triola: This textbook is favored in statistics courses, as the author presents all concepts in a clear and understandable manner for students to succeed in class.
• “Applied Statistics and Probability for Engineers” by Douglas C. Montgomery: This book should come in handy to engineering students and it contains real-life examples and applications.
• “Introduction to the Practice of Statistics” by Moore, McCabe, and Craig: An encyclopedic book that also features practical examples thus recommended for students in the social and natural sciences.
3. Practice with Real Data
Using real datasets can help to make statistics much more interesting. Students can sharpen their data analysis skills by practicing with the datasets that belong to their field of study. Kaggle has free datasets for all types of projects and domains so that students can execute statistical tests on real datasets and analyze the impact of their analysis.
4. Develop a Strong Support System
Studying with friends in a group provides additional support and motivation. Students can easily study groups to solve problems, exchange ideas, and perspectives, and study material. Moreover, there are many forums and communities available online where students can join and get guidance and advice from experienced statisticians.
5. Seek Help Early and Consistently
This is one of the most common mistakes that students make is waiting until the last minute to complete their assignments. Engaging with homework helps experts prevent last-minute panic and enables students to strengthen their conceptual knowledge gradually and at the same time identify weak areas. This helps build confidence.

Impact of Dummy Variables on Regression Outcomes: Econometrics Analysis Help
Introduction
In general, dummy variables in econometrics are effective tools to incorporate qualitative data into regression models. Usually taking values of either 0 or 1, dummy variables allow us to capture the effects of discrete categories (such as gender, region, or treatment) on the dependent variable. To students studying econometrics, dummy variables represent the possibility of making such categorical influences quantifiable within the standard methodologies of regression testing. These are particularly useful when analyzing data that contain not just quantitative factors but also qualitative factors such as disparity of income between different genders and the effect of government policies across various regions.
Dummy variables are very useful in econometric analysis for obtaining accurate analysis and interpretable results, as they segment data based on meaningful categories that may otherwise remain hidden. For students working on econometric analysis, learning how to implement dummy variables can simplify complex analyses and make models more instinctive. Students can take assistance from econometrics homework help experts to master different techniques that can be used in the most efficient way to set up and interpret dummy variables. This guide focuses on the basic concept of dummy variables, their use in linear regression, their importance, and their implementation using Python codes to help students in their coursework assignments.
Tumblr media
How to Use Dummy Variables for Better Interpretability in Linear Regression Models
Explaining what Dummy Variables are in Linear Regression
When conducting a linear regression analysis, dummy variables are used to quantify how categorical variables impact the outcome variable. For instance, we can examine the effects that the region of an individual has on his or her income. Here, the region is categorical (North, South, East, West), and by using dummy variables we obtain the binary set of indicators for each corresponding region allowing us to model the changes in incomes peculiar to these locations. If the dummy variables were not included in the equation, the regression would assume the region to be a continuous variable which is a nonsensical approach, or it would exclude this variable altogether, thus eliminating useful insights. Dummy variables solve this issue by following a binary format, where 0 or 1 are assigned to show whether that certain category exists or not. Here is a guide on performing dummy variable coding in Python, especially for simple regression analysis.
Step-by-Step Guide with Python Code
Suppose we have a dataset involving information on income, gender, and level of education. To incorporate categorical effects into the income prediction, we will incorporate dummy variables.
1. Loading the Dataset
Suppose we have a sample dataset of people's income, gender, and education levels. We’ll use the Python library pandas to load and explore the dataset:
import pandas as PD
# Sample dataset
data = pd.DataFrame({
    'income': [55000, 48000, 62000, 45000, 52000],
'gender': ['Male', 'Female', 'Male', 'Female', 'Male'],
'education': ['Bachelor', 'Master', 'Bachelor', 'PhD', 'Master']
})
print(data)
Now, let’s introduce dummy variables for gender and education to capture their unique impacts on income.
1. Creating dummy variables using pandas.get_dummies()
To make dummy variables, python’s Panda library provides an easy method. Let’s create dummy variables for gender as well as for education.
# Generate dummy variables
data_dummies = pd.get_dummies(data, columns=['gender', 'education'], drop_first=True)
print(data_dummies)
By using drop_first=True we prevent the so-called dummy variable trap which happens when all categories are included in the model leading to perfect multicollinearity. Here, the gender_Female and the education_Master, education_PhD point to each category.
1. Setting Up the Regression Model
It is now possible to fit the linear regression using dummy variables to predict income. We are going to build and evaluate the model by using the statsmodels package in Python.
import statsmodels.api as sm
# Define the dependent and independent variables
X = data_dummies.drop('income', axis=1)
y = data_dummies['income']
# Add constant for intercept
X = sm.add_constant(X)
# Fit the model
model = sm.OLS(y, X).fit()
print(model.summary())
In this setup, we include gender_Female as a dummy variable and assign it a value of 1 for ‘Female’ and 0 for ‘Male’ which will be our reference category. Likewise, for education, “Bachelor” is the baseline category, with separate summy variables on “Master” and “PhD”. Using the results of the constructed model, we can understand how being female as well as having higher educational standards influences income as compared to other baseline categories.
Interpreting the Results
Let’s understand how dummy variables affect the regression:
• Intercept: The intercept means the anticipated income for the reference category, in this case, a male with an education level of Bachelor’s degree.
• Gender Coefficient: The coefficient of gender_Female describes the variation of income of females from the male baseline category.
• Education Coefficients: The coefficients for education_Master and education_PhD indicate the income difference caused by these degrees compared to those with a bachelor’s degree.
We get insight of how each categorical variable affects the income by comparing each dummy variable’s coefficient. For instance, if the coefficient for gender_Female is negative this means, females earn less on average than males.

College was a long, long four years. Sleepless nights and all-nighters, good professors and bad ones.
To be honest, it didn’t live up to your expectations.
At all.
Your grades were top of your class but in the romance department, you failed with a zero.
Freshman year went by, and no boyfriend, sophomore year? still no boyfriend. Junior and senior year? Too busy with homework to even try.
But that wasn’t your main goal anyway. Studies were always number one.
You rarely went to any parties, and rarely had any hookups because honestly?
You had essays due at 11:59.
It went by quickly and before you knew it you were tossing your tassel and walking across the graduation stage. A smile plastered across your face and an ache in your heart.
You did it. You truly did it.
Now on to adulthood, your carefree years are left behind in the dust.
You felt pressure the minute you walked off that stage. So, so much pressure.
From weddings and baby showers to getting bombarded with questions at every single. holiday dinner.
“When are you getting married?  “When are you going to have kids? You aren’t getting any younger.” “I know we told you to focus on your studies but you should think about settling down.”
When you were offered a position at the biggest marketing agency in the city you were swift to accept. Ready to transition from campus life to corporate life.
The first few months were rough, but you pushed through. Before you knew it you were fitting right in.
Professionally sent emails, a schedule full of meetings, and coffee perfectly sweetened and delivered to your boss right on time.
Soon you were caught up in the routine of your 9-5.
Wake up.
Commute.
Work.
Commute.
Sleep.
The American dream you were sold. Yet you still felt so empty, like something was constantly missing.
Your hard work quickly paid off. Soon the company was promoting you to the role of assistant creative director. And with the pay raise came more responsibility—and more mental strain.
Heeseung Lee, your new boss, didn’t seem thrilled.
He seemed like he was always giving you a task to keep you as far away from him as possible. But being the hardworking woman you are, you complied.
You had an image to keep up anyway.
You didn’t know much about him. He mostly kept to himself, always buried in work from dawn until dusk. Never really gave you a second glance unless he needed an errand run. Or his coffee refilled.
You woke up to the same blare of your alarm. Starting the day off like all the others. Picking out another navy blue pantsuit and pairing it with some pumps and your work tote.
You tie up your hair professionally, do some minimal makeup to compliment your features, and spray your favorite perfume.
You’re out the door just in time. Driving the same sluggish commute to the office. The same songs still playing on the radio.
As you wind through the crowded city streets the office building becomes visible in the distance.
The unchanging, rising floors and perfectly polished glass reflect the blue of the sky. The logos were perfectly stamped onto the top of the building and the doors.
You step into the empty elevator and ride it up to the marketing floor. The large windows overlook the bustling city below, letting the sun's rays into the concrete structure.
Your heels click against the floor, echoing in the empty hall as you make your way toward your desk—which just happens to be room next to Heeseung’s.
You set down your keys and bag before pulling out your laptop to get to work.
You’re lost in thought and focused on getting a head start on the day. Make a list of clients to contact, things to print, and a schedule of meetings for your boss.
You hardly even notice the sound of the elevator opening with a quiet, ding!
You glance at the clock, no one besides you ever comes to the office this early. You watch through the glass prying your gaze overtop the desktop curiously to see who it could be.
Your boss steps out of the elevator, tie loose and crooked, shirt wrinkled, hair down, You’ve never seen him show up this…messy?
Immediately your interest is piqued. Your eyes narrow with confusion as you watch him stumble into the office, coffee in one hand and laptop tucked under the other arm. You glance down and notice a small boy clinging to his leg.
He drags himself across the office floor and the boy latches onto his pant leg. You smile softly as you watch through the glass. Wondering who’s kid your stoic boss got stuck parenting this morning.
“Daddy I want pancakes!” The little boy yells.
“Shhhhh inside voice Cal-“ Heeseung says to the boy as he covers his mouth in an attempt to muffle his echoed pleas for pancakes.
Dad? Heeseung? A Father? You had no idea. You’ve never seen him wear a ring, he never seemed like the family type either.
No pictures of a family framed on his desk like your other coworkers.  You ponder, all of a sudden invested in knowing way more about his personal life than you should.
Your curiosity gets the best of you as you decide to confidently step out of the office, pretending not to notice him.
Heeseung's eyes shoot wide as he hears the sound of your heels on the tile floor.
“Morning.” He says, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment from the compromising position you caught him in. He’s visibly flustered.
Again that's a first.
You don’t know what comes over you. Before you know it you're simply leaning in to help.
“Morning! Didn’t know you were bringing a guest today.” You say with a soft smile to the boy, waving to him as you step closer.
You gently glance at Heeseung, his expression overwhelmed and stressed. He can’t even fight you as you take the coffee and laptop from his hands.
His shoulders physically drop with the release of the tension.
Your fingertips brush against the warmth of his as you take the now cold coffee cup from his hand, leaning in and getting a whiff of his cologne as you take the laptop.
You feel his warmth as you do, his scent is woody and inviting. Again you’ve never been this close.
And it's making your heart race.
“Up we go-“ Heeseung says, picking up the still visibly angry boy in his arms as he follows you into his office. You set down his things on the mahogany desk and he closes the door behind you.
Heeseung lets the boy down, and he instantly starts bouncing off the walls and running circles around his desk. He Jumps up and down on the small leather couch. Heeseung sighs as he looks over at you.
Helpless.
“The nanny I hired walked out on me at the last minute. I just didn’t know what else to do.” Heeseung mumbles under his breath.
He rubs the back of his neck, You’ve never seen him so unguarded before.
“Callum down! No jumping!” Heeseung haggles as he pinches the bridge of his nose in an attempt to relieve some of the headache.
Callum, that must be his son, he looks maybe around four years old. It’s clear he’s full of lots of energy.
He also appears to be protesting his no-pancake breakfast.
Heeseung lets out another sigh, visibly stressed beyond anything you've ever seen. His shoulders are tense, so tense as his son only makes more and more noise.
It makes your heart ache, without even thinking you step in.
“Callum, do you want to color?” You say kindly, you don’t even know what’s taken over you, it just hurts to see your boss looking like a stressed-out mess.
And to be fair, you are his assistant. It’s your job to lend a hand.
You gather some copy paper from his desk before opening the drawers. You shuffle through the sea of sticky notes and paper clips before finding a few colored highlighters scattered around.
“I love to color!” Callum says as he jumps off the couch and onto the floor.
With the office supplies in hand, you lie on the rug, kicking your heels off in the process. You don’t even notice Heeseung staring at you in awe as Callum takes the green highlighter from your hand and starts to scribble on the page.
And for the first time since Heeseung walked through the door, it’s quiet.
“Can you add a dinosaur? Pretty please!!!” Callum says cheerfully as the two of you continue to scribble your masterpiece onto the paper.
“I can try…” you say with a weak giggle as you use the best of your ability to draw the shape of a dinosaur from memory. Letting your fingertips lightly brush the pens across the white pages.
Heeseung just leans against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest with a stupid grin on his face. You look good, a little too good.
Shit...
He’s snapped out of his trance when his phone buzzes in his back pocket. He immediately steps out leaving just you and Callum alone for a moment.
You watch through the glass. There he goes again, stressed and frustrated. His shoulders tight on the call, his hand roughly raking through his already messy hair.
After a few moments, he aggressively ends the call and steps back in, shoving his phone in the back pocket of his dress pants.
“Sorry I’ve got to jump on a quick meeting, I didn’t notice the time got changed,” Heeseung says frantically as he grabs his laptop, his eyes wide as he looks between you and Callum. Like he just doesn’t know exactly what to do.
“You go, I can handle this,” you say, chest fluttering as you see his expression melt. You’ve never seen him so soft.
“I owe you one, you’re a lifesaver,” Heeseung says breathlessly as he turns out the door, he looks back once, heart melting at the sight.
He looks back once more before rounding the corner to the conference hall.
You and Callum are left alone in the office, you keep him entertained. Thankful that you came in early to get a head start on the day.
It’s easy to give him your full attention knowing you have an empty to-do list.
You get comfortable, taking off your navy blue blazer and tossing it onto the back of his office chair.
You slide your heels under the desk, watching Callum fill up sheet after sheet of paper with colorful, creative pieces of art.
“I like you more than the other lady,” Callum mumbles as he lies on the ground, brows furrowed as he focuses on coloring in the rough outlined shapes.
“You do?” You question him with a sweet voice. You lean down next to him, taking one of the highlighters in your hand as you mindlessly start to draw on another sheet of paper next to him.
“Are you going to be my new mommy? I miss having a mom.” The boy mutters, his expression hopeful.
Your heart drops. Is Heeseung taking care of him all by himself? You can only imagine how much stress he’s under juggling work life and home life too.
You chuckle weakly as you continue to watch him scribble on the pages.
“That’s not really how it works Callum.” You inform kindly.
After about half an hour of coloring and dinosaur talk, Heeseung comes around the corner. You catch a glimpse of him through the glass and you swear your heart skips another beat.
“Daddy!” Callum says as he jumps up and runs into his Dad's legs as he stands in the doorway.
“Were you good for her Cal?” Heeseung asks, glancing at you briefly, his expression softening as he steps into the office and sets his laptop down on the desk.
You start to clean up the mess. Highlighters, pens, and paper scattered all over the floor, your hair a mess, blazer tossed somewhere to the side. You smile softly as you listen to the interaction.
You catch another whiff of his cologne, woody, warm, and masculine. There it goes again, your heart skipping a beat.
“He’s a good kid.” You say with a smile on your face as you unintentionally lock eyes with Heeseung. He can’t help but smile back at you.
You’re snapped out of your gaze when Callum tugs at the edge of your shirt.
“Are you leaving? Please don’t leave! Daddy, can she come home with us?” Callum cries out.
Heeseung lets out another weak laugh. Face flushing with embarrassment.
“Cal, she's got her own home to go to.” Heeseung watches, leaning against the desk and crossing his arms.
“Daddy I like her!” Callum says. Heeseung’s expression softens at his words.
His eyes linger on your expression as he pulls a granola bar out of one of the drawers of his desk. He softly breaks it into small pieces before handing it to Callum.
“Chocolate Chip! Your favorite…” Heeseung mutters as he watches Callum let go of your shirt, running to take the Granola bar out of his hand. It's quiet while he munches away at his morning snack.
With free hands, Heeseung steps away from his desk moving even closer to you. Your heart rate picks up. Beating fast as you notice just how attractive he looks in the low light.
He’s young, he can’t be much older than you are. As you study his face you notice his expression changing, flickering with surprise, gratitude even.
“You’re really good with him. He’s never like this with anyone else.” Heeseung says to you his voice soft, just above a whisper.
“I worked at a daycare in college, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.” You say playfully, an unfamiliar warmth starts to pool in your stomach. You push it down in an attempt to keep the feelings strictly professional.
“You’re a natural, I didn’t know you had this side to you.” He says casually leaning up against the desk.
Your eyes linger on the way his body fills up his suit. The fabric straining against his muscles as he crosses his arms over his chest.
“Likewise, didn’t know you had the cutest little boy around. He's real special..” You say as you casually slip back into your work pumps, smoothing out the wrinkles of your blouse.
You flush, noticing Heesueng’s eyes lingering on your fingertips, mentally tracing the curves of your body.
After a long moment, Heeseung shakes his head trying to snap himself out of, whatever he’s feeling.
“He deserves the world and I—I  wish I could give it to him,” Heeseung confesses his voice low, almost sounding defeated.
“You’re doing enough…trust me. I couldn’t imagine being in your shoes. Especially with that ball of energy.” You say truthfully, your gaze lingering on him for another second too long. Noticing the way his dark hair compliments his eyes.
Heeseung nervously clears his throat, his cheeks flushing as the noise smacks you out of your trance with a nervous laugh.
Heeseung hesitates, there's a moment of comfortable silence before he speaks up. “Well I have another meeting at 12, and I’ve got a presentation I need to work on for Friday, I don’t know how I'm going to get it all done—”
“Don’t worry, I can watch him. I’ll order him some food and keep him entertained while you work.” You interrupt with a soft smile. Your fingertips mindlessly adjust your hair, making his heart flutter.
“If that's okay with you?” You add nervously.
“Are you sure you really don’t have to…” Heeseung mutters, but you can tell from his body language he’s secretly relieved and deeply grateful for the offer.
“I want to, I’ve pretty much got a blank schedule today so I don’t mind.” You say as Callum finishes his granola and runs back towards the two of you. Leaving a messy pile of crumbs where he sat and ate his snack.
He gently clings to the side of your leg, gripping the fabric of your dress pants.
Heeseung takes one look and he just can’t say no.
“Daddy! Can we play some more!” Callum says as he tugs at the side of your pant leg.
Heeseung smiles, this time it's different, authentic.
“I’ll be back around 5.”
And with that, he leaves you two in the office to make it your very own personal playground.
⋆ ⋆ ⋆
The sun starts to set letting hues of orange and pink seep through the office windows.
5pm rolls around and  Heeseung couldn’t be more than happy to be done with his tedious work.
His breath catches as he turns the corner of the hall. Heart softening as he finds the state of the two of you.
You’re still lying on the rug, barefoot, and with your hair loose as you type away at your laptop. Typical of you to get a head start on some work for tomorrow.
Callum rests his head on your leg as he sleeps peacefully. His little chest rises and falls with soft breaths as he dozes off peacefully.
You don’t even notice Heeseung standing in the doorway again, as you continue to work.
Remnants of a door-dashed chicken nugget meal is left right next to you. A little bit of ketchup staining Callum’s dinosaur shirt.
Callum is fed, asleep, and happy.
That makes today a win.
“I don’t know how I’m ever going to repay you for this,” Heeseung speaks up as he steps into the room. His voice was soft enough to catch your attention but not to wake Callum.
You flinch as you hear his voice, unaware that he was watching you for the last few minutes completely enthralled with what he was seeing.
“Is it 5:00 already?” You ask tearing your gaze away from your laptop to glance at Heeseung leaning against the doorframe. His tight blazer rode up just enough to reveal his strong build underneath his slim white shirt.
“5:16 actually,” Heeseung says matter-of-factly. He drags himself into the room, setting down his laptop and keeling down to help clean up the mess.
He starts to pick up the food trash, gathering up all the pens and markers. A few pages are scattered across the floor. He smiles as he flips through the drawings.
Dinosaurs, castles, sharks—his heart stops when he sees messily drawn stick figures in front of a house.
It’s a boy with black hair, a tall man with the same, and a woman that looks a lot like you.
Callum drew this, little stick figures in front of his home, a family.
Heeseung doesn’t say anything to you, he just continues to clean and pack up letting Callum rest on your leg peacefully. But his heart is thumping in his ears.
Imagining you with Callum, in his home. Imagining you in his bed—
He stops himself. You’re his assistant for God’s sake, not a free babysitter. You come here to get a check just like he does. Not to live out some fantasy that he knows is out of reach.
Heeseung glances at the picture on his desk just one more time. He keeps telling himself it’s asking too much, and that having a family like that is impossible for him.
He tries, but his heart is tugging in another direction.
There are hardly any words spoken between you as Heeseung packs up his things. The rest of the staff was already gone leaving the office dim and cold and empty.
You gently pick up Callum. He stirs slightly as you hold him up against your hip. You slip back into your shoes, and without even asking, Heeseung grabs the rest of your things.
The elevator ride down is quiet. The only sound is the soft hum of the cables and Callum’s soft sleepy breaths against your shoulder.
Your heels click against the concrete as you carry Callum to the parking garage. Heeseung keeps glancing at you briefly, not being able to hold contact too long. Like he’s still trying to keep you at a distance, but he's failing.
“The black Kia is mine…” Heeseung says softly as he leads you through the empty parking garage to the back row of parking spots.
Once you reach the car he opens the back door for you. Letting you easily slide Callum into his car seat. You don’t even notice the drool left on your white shirt as you buckle him into the car.
Heeseung just stands watching from the side. You look incredible, and he notices the drool left on your corporate attire.
You just look so right, feel so right. But he knows it’s not right in the slightest.
Once Callum is bucked in you shut the door to the black SUV turning to take your blazer, laptop, and workbag from Heeseungs arms.
“You have no idea what you’ve done for me today,” Heeseung says softly, his tone truthfully like he means every word as he passes you your things.
“Anytime. Callum is worth it.” You say softly as you slip back into your navy blue blazer.
“Here let me repay you for the Happy Meal I—“
“Don’t. Please. It’s my pleasure truly.”  You say as you playfully 'shh' him with your fingertips. His cheeks flushed a soft pink at the gesture.
You don’t even realize just how close you are.
There’s a pause. It’s not awkward just heavy. Like you can feel the thoughts racing through your head and his.
You catch a breath as he stares down into your eyes, his gaze lingering across every one of your features.
He hesitates, not wanting to cross a line, but God he wants to. He reaches out his hand, gently cupping the sides of your face, his thumbs brushing against the warmth of your cheeks.
You swear you can hear the beat of your heart echoing through the empty car garage.
“You are so kind, so beautiful…” Heeseung mutters under his breath. His gaze locked on you like he’s in a trance. His fingertips gently brush against your soft skin.
He leans in, his lips almost touching yours. His breath is hot against you. The woody and masculine smell of his fading cologne fills your senses. Reminding you how quickly the distance is shrinking between you.
The moment is charged, you both know you shouldn’t. But you're dying to have a taste of his perfectly shaped lips.
“You really saved me today, I can’t say thank you enough” Heeseung whispers. Tension sizzles while his heart feels conflicted all at once.
But right now, off the clock, he’s feeling everything he’s been pushing down since the day you were promoted.
Right now, you’re not just his assistant. You’re the generous, intelligent, attractive woman that he's been pushing away since day one.
His eyes find yours again, and he doesn’t want to push you away anymore.
He’s scared but also excited. Maybe you could be something more.
“Then don’t say it.” You mutter softly… Your eyes widen as you realize what just slipped out of your mouth.
Heeseung chuckles again. The sound makes your stomach flip as his dark eyes flick down to your perfectly shaped lips.
His breath catches.
He hesitates.
But closes the distance.
He leans in and captures your soft lips with his own. The kiss is soft, gentle, barely there like he’s trying to say goodbye and thank you all at once.
Your breath gets caught in your lungs as you feel the warmth of his lips against your own. You feel the tension slipping from your body as you kiss him back with a soft sigh.
You slowly move your hands letting them rest against his chest, gently pulling at the cool fabric of his button-up shirt.
His lips brush against yours again, barely capturing your lips with his own, keeping his distance in case you want to pull away.
You don’t.
You can’t help but lean into it. His lips are soft and feather-like. You gasp into his mouth, heart-thumping in your chest.
Your breath hitches, and Heeseung smirks. Noticing the effect he’s having on you.
The kiss lingers, for two seconds, maybe three. After a short moment, he pulls away. His breath still mingling with your own.
His lips were pink and plump from the kiss. He lets his fingertips linger on your skin before reluctantly pulling them away. Leaving you with a shiver of cold without his warmth.
“Damn,” Heeseung whispers breathlessly under his breath as he puts a few more inches of cold distance between you.
“Is that your way of saying thank you?” You tease with a soft smirk as you lean down to pick up the rest of your things, face burning as you realize—
You just kissed your boss.
“I’ve wanted to try that for longer than you think” Heeseung teases back as he nervously pulls his gaze away from you to dig in his pocket for his car keys.
The tension is heavy between you two, like you both want to say so much but the words just won't come out.
“I should get going it’s getting late—” You say nervously adjusting the wrinkled collar of your shirt in an attempt to ease some of the thick tension.
“You’re right, I’ll see you tomorrow?” Heeseung questions hopefully. His eyes lingered on you once again.
“Yeah, tomorrow.” You reply as you turn on your heel to walk towards your car, scared of what would happen if you stayed a moment longer.
“Drive safe…” Heeseung calls out behind you as he leans against the side of his car, watching as you walk across the garage before stepping into your car.
You pull the driver's side door shut with a slam. Letting out a loud heavy breath of relief as you try to process what just happened.
Heeseung is a father. Exhausted, attractive, and kissing you like a fucking dream.
A problem in the making.
⋆ ⋆ ⋆
You can’t stop thinking about the day as you finally arrive home. You aggressively throw your things down on the kitchen counter and make your way straight for the shower.
Hopefully, that will help clear your mind.
You step into the shower washing your hair and skin. You can’t stop thinking about Heeseung’s gentle glances. About Callum's sweet laughter. All the things confessed and how natural everything felt in the chaos.
The weight of the day finally catches up to you as you change into a satin pair of pajamas and slide into bed.
You’re exhausted, physically and mentally.
Just as you shut your eyes your phone vibrates and buzzes on the nightstand. You groan, lazily grabbing it, the illuminating screen hurting your eyes as you look at it in the darkness.
It’s Heeseung.
At this hour? He can't be calling about presentations or pamphlets that need to be made. Your thumb hovers over the green circle.
On the third ring, you pick up.
“Hello?” You say into the phone with a professional tone.
“Hey sorry to bother you this late. You’re still up?” Heeseung asks.
You hear the rustling of sheets through the other side of the line and it only piques your interest.
“Wouldn’t be talking to you if I wasn’t.” You say playfully in response.
There’s a soft pause, the sound of your ceiling fan creaking overtop your bed the only thing that cuts through the breathing.
“Hey about the kiss, I hope I want to cross a line or anything. I want to apologize—“ Heeseung breathes out.
“No trust me, you don’t have to apologize.” You say, your heart beating faster the longer the call goes on.
Heeseung bites his lip, contemplating if he wants to say what he’s thinking.
“I liked it, a lot actually and I would do it again,” Heeseung confesses, his voice shaky you can almost see how red he is behind the screen.
“Oh yeah?” You reply, your thighs already clenching together under the covers just at the sound of his voice.
“I want to do more than just kiss you actually—God I shouldn’t be saying this. Maybe I should hang up,” Heeseung confesses, his voice heavy as your phone picks up the sound of more sheets rustling.
“Please don’t.” You plead. Your voice was shaky as it cuts through the silence. There’s another quiet pause before Heeseung softly interrupts.
“…what are you wearing?” He asks curiously with a whisper. His voice hits through the phone as you hold it to your ear.
“Satin..nothing underneath.” You say with a shaky breath.
“Fuck. That’s hot.” Heeseung says into the phone as you hear more sounds of him from the other side. He lets a quiet breathily moan slip from his lips.
“I wish I was there. The things I would do to you, for you…” Heeseung mumbles his voice softly trailing off.
“What things?” You ask, your voice a soft gasp catching in your throat.
“I would kiss you again, letting my hands slide that satin off your pretty skin. Then I would kiss down your neck, letting you moan into my ear. I bet you’d sound so pretty.” Heeseung confesses.
You imagine it, your thighs squeezing together at the thought, you’re heart beating faster as you hear his breaths getting heavier.
“Fuck..” Heeseung gasps with a soft moan. Your eyes roll back in response as your free hand traces lower until it’s slipping into the satin fabric of your shorts.
“Then I’d kiss down your body. Down until I was kneeled between your legs, tasting you. Worshiping you, a real thank you compared to that kiss.” Heeseung gasps as you hear the bed creek underneath him on the other side of the phone.
You moan at the thought, you don’t even realize it slipped past your lips right through the other side of the call.
“Shit—“ you gasp your fingers slowing their movement between your legs.
“You touching yourself?” Heeseung whispers.
“Yeah..” you reply, your cheeks burning hot as you do. Not completely from embarrassment but maybe from how much you’re enjoying this.
“Me too…I’m so hard just thinking about you..” Heeseung says as he’s cut off with another soft groan.
“Fuck—“ you curse as you grab some of the wetness leaking from your hole before dragging it up to your clit working small circles on yourself.
“I’d be so good to you. Lying you back, fucking you in missionary so I can watch your pretty face.” Heeseung gasps, his breath heavy as his hand moves against himself.
“God, your voice..” you gasp as you rub yourself faster adding more pressure between your thighs.
“Let me hear you. Fuck let me hear those pretty sounds..” Heeseung commands through the line, and the phone picks up the sound of his sharp breaths.
Your thighs shake as you push yourself further, getting lost in the image of his mouth on your pussy before sliding his cock into it. You close your eyes, letting his breaths turn you on more.
“Daddy?” You hear softly from the other side of the phone.
 Everything stops.
“What is it, Cal?” You hear Heeseung's muffled voice as the sheets are aggressively tossed on the other side of the phone. The room goes quiet as you hear him jump up from the bed
After a moment he comes back.
“Shit—I’ve got to take care of him...I’m sorry..” Heeseung says frantically.
“It’s ok I understand…have a goodnight.” You reply softly.
“You too, goodnight,” Heeseung replies before hitting the red button on the screen leaving you completely in silence.
You let out a sigh of pure disappointment as you turn to dig through your bedside table to find your vibrator.
⋆ ⋆ ⋆
The next day you show up to the office early. Partly because you always do and partly because you couldn’t hardly sleep at all.
Not after that call.
You remember the empty feeling of having the most unsatisfying orgasm ever. Your fingers and toys feel like nothing compared to his voice turning you on.
You shake your head trying to clear your head of the thoughts. Last night shouldn’t have happened, and you can’t let it interfere with your work.
You pull your laptop out of your bag and immediately start to skim through your inbox, making the usual list of clients to call and meetings to attend. You’re quickly interrupted by a knock.
You glance at the door as Heeseung steps in. His blazer unbuttoned along with the top buttons of his white shirt. His tie hangs loosely around his neck.
You immediately notice the bags around his eyes suggesting he didn’t get much sleep either.
“How’s Callum?” You ask honestly.
“My nephew is home from college today so he’s watching him,” Heeseung says casually as he steps into the room closing the door shut behind him.
“Can we talk about yesterday?” He asks as leans against the side of your desk. His blazer is tight as he crosses his arms.
“You think this is a good time to bring up the phone sex we had before your son walked in?” You tease casually as you continue to scribble notes onto your planner.
“I didn’t mean to leave you hanging, trust me,” Heeseung murmurs his voice dropping an octave as he leans in close.
“It’s okay I had my vibrator finish the job.” You tease matter-of-factly.
“Now that’s cruel,” Heeseung says with a soft chuckle. The same laugh that was making you lose it yesterday.
“We shouldn’t be talking about this here.” You reply, already feeling yourself getting worked up again.
The warmth between your thighs, the flush in your cheeks.
“I don’t want to pretend it didn’t happen.” Heeseung states as he glances deeply into your eyes. Like he’s pleading with you to not shut him out.
You sit back in your office chair as he rounds the desk, you let him step closer, breath catching as he leans in.
“Tell me to stop, and I will...” he whispers as he gently cups the side of your face again, his eyes flicking down to stare at your lips.
You remember exactly how it felt in the parking garage, how warm and wet and inviting his kisses were. You’d be a fool to say no.
Heeseung closes the distance his lips strongly clashing into yours. He lets out a deep groan of satisfaction at the contact.
Your hands slide to the back of his neck, fingertips tangling in his dark hair as your lips move in synch.
This time the kiss isn’t gentle and soft, it’s intense and full of need.
You gasp for air as he pulls away only for your lips to capture his again. Your lipstick smudges down your chin as Heeseung sucks and nips at your swollen lips.
You part your lips in invitation and Heeseung swiftly accepts. Gently pushing your lips open further with his tongue as he slips into your mouth.
You whimper as you taste the remnants of his morning coffee on his tongue.
“God you’re so—“ Heeseung gasps as he pulls away an inch to catch his breath. Your lipstick smudged across his lips and chin.
Heeseungs brows furrow as his phone buzzes in his back pocket. He pulls away, keeping one hand resting on your waist as he answers.
The phone screen flashes ‘Riki’ with an option to pick up or decline.
“It’s my nephew— I have to take this...” Heesung grumbles as he keeps one hand resting on you, not wanting to completely pull out of the moment just yet.
“He’s sick? Fever?” You hear Heeseung say with a concerned tone of voice. His expression drops as he stays on the call.
You watch with concern. After a few more moments of muffled talking from the other side, he hangs up. Letting out a frustrated sigh.
“Callum’s running a fever now…and I have a meeting at 4. I won’t be able to get to him and Riki just isn’t exactly—“
“Do you want me to pick him up?” You offer, secretly excited to see the little ball of energy again even if he is under the weather.
Heeseung doesn’t even speak, he just kisses you again.
Another thank you, another promise.
“I don’t want to push my luck— but if you wouldn’t mind.” Heeseung gasps against your lips. The tension was visibly relieved at your request.
“Text me the address, I’ve got you.”

**arrived**
The GPS beeps as you pull into the driveway of Heeseung's house. It’s a small modest home in a quiet neighborhood.
The outside was neglected. The grass was overgrown and the flowerbeds were messy.
Heeseung pulls in right behind you. He swiftly puts the car in park, running right to your side.
“How is he?” Heeseung asks frantically as he watches you lean into the backseat of your car to unbuckle Callum from his car seat.
“He’s got a fever for sure, poor baby says his stomach has been hurting too.” You say with a sharp groan as you pull a sleepy Callum out of the backseat of your car.
“There’s some medicine in the CVS bag up front I bought it just in case.” You say breathlessly as you balance a very sleepy Callum on your hip.
Heeseung grabs the bag of medicine and locks up the cars behind you. He jogs awkwardly to catch up to you and unlock the door.
Your heart softens as you step into the warmth of his home. The home is small but it looks lived in.
Callum’s drawings on the fridge, days of unopened mail stacked up on the kitchen countertops, and Legos spilled across the carpet.
You can’t explain the feeling any other way besides, right?
Not perfect, just right.
And maybe the imperfect is whats been filling that empty feeling in both of you.
You kick your heels off at the door, letting your bare feet hit the carpet as you lie Callum down on the living room couch.
He’s half awake, burning up, cheeks red.
Heeseung is right behind you, opening up the medicine and pouring the syrup into a small cup.
“Cal you need to take some medicine if you want to feel better,” Heeseung says softly as he kneels next to him.
“No! I don’t like the red flavor it’s yucky.” Callum protests as he tries to knock the medicine out of Heeseungs hands.
“Cal-“ he grunts with frustration as some of the medicine spills on his black suit.
“Callum…” you say with a soft, soothing voice as you kneel next to him, your hands stroking through his hair. The same dark shade as his dad's.
“If you want your tummy to stop hurting you have to take the medicine. You can do it, Callum..” you say softly as you rake your fingertips through his hair trying to calm his anxiety.
“I don’t wanna-“ Callum whines.
“What if I hold your hand? And we count to three?” You suggest lovingly.
Callum stirs but that seems to do the trick. You hold his little hand in yours as you start to count.
“One”
“Two”
“Three”
With a sharp breath, Heeseung puts the cup to his lips, holding it there until he swallows it in a few shaky gulps.
“There you go…see it wasn’t so bad.” You praise, gently patting his back softly.
“You ready for bed Cal?” Heeseung whispers, his fingertips brushing against his forehead again to feel his fever.
“Is she leaving?” Callum whispers.
You pause. Heart fluttering in your chest.
Are you leaving?
“Can you tuck me in? That's what mommy used to do.” Callum asks, his little voice shaky as he sniffles.
You’re heart sinks. You don’t say anything.
You quickly glance at Heeseung for approval and he nods.
You pick Callum up off the couch and Heeseung leads to down the dark hall to his room. There are toys all over the floor, mismatched furnishings, and the walls decorated with his finger paintings and prints of his favorite characters.
You lie him down on the small bed tucked in the corner, pulling the blankets up and tucking him at the sides to keep him comfortable.
Heeseung watches leaning against the edge of the doorframe. His heart felt warm and full at the sight.
He knows he can’t let you go tonight, not after this.
He thought he could do this alone, thought he was the type of man that could juggle it all.
But your patience, your kindness, is something Heeseung hasn’t seen in a long time.
“Can I have my dinosaur?” Callum asks his voice weak as he curls into the pillows and blankets with a cough.
You pass him the dinosaur plush that was halfway tucked under the bed. Probably lost in the chaos of this morning. Callum grabs it and settles into the blankets.
“Thank you…” he says weakly.
Your breath catches, you know he’s not just talking about the plushie.
“Sleep well Callum…” you whisper before gently pushing some of his dark hair away from his temple. You gently kiss him goodnight before turning to the door.
Heeseung can’t look away. You look so perfect right now. And the way you handled everything it’s making his heart swell.
The two of you file out of the door with unspoken words. Heeseung hits the lights and closes the door to Callum’s room.
“Will you stay?” Heeseung asks, his eyes pleading like he’s begging you not to go.
“Heeseung I—“
“Please I have wine.  I know it’s nothing compared to everything you’ve done for me, for us..” he trails off, his hands sliding between the two of your bodies to find yours.
He laces your fingertips in his own, the motion taking the words out of your throat.
You know you should protest, but physically you can’t.
And you have to admit to yourself you want this just as much as him.
“Wine sounds perfect. And I’d kill to get out of this suit.” You reply with a playful breathy laugh.
Heeseung lets you change into some of his clothes, a large oversized t-shirt and baggy basketball shorts.
You step into the kitchen finding him dressed casually in gray sweatpants and a loose fitting shirt.
You bite your lip as you turn the corner. Your gaze lingers on his messy hair and casual attire. You’ve never seen him like this before.
“Sorry it’s nothing fancy, single dad budget— you know how it goes,” Heeseung mutters as he opens the half-full bottle of red wine and pours it into two glass cups.
“I’m sure it tastes great.” You say as he motions for you to join him in the living room.
You sit next to him on the plush couch, fingers brushing against his as you take the wineglass from his hand.
You bring the glass to your lips, taking a small sip of the liquid. Heeseung does the same. The air is thick, like there’s still so much left to say.
“You’re incredible you know that? You got him to take his medicine without a fight. Sure you’re not casting spells on me?” Heeseung teases.
You laugh, really laugh. It feels warm in your chest.
“God…Heeseung..” you say as you try to catch your breath.
Heeseung chuckles too, his voice low and deep. He leans in, taking another sip of his wine as he turns to look at you.
You can smell the fading scent of his cologne. You didn’t even realize how quickly the woody musk has become one of your favorite scents.
You lean in closer, letting your free hand rest on top of his.
“I always thought I would have this by now…a house, a family.” You say weakly. Your voice was shaky as you opened up to him in the quiet darkness of his living room.
Heeseung doesn’t say anything. He just watches, just listens.
“You know it was always homework in college then it was internships. Then it was hooking up with the wrong guy, then it was another who never wanted anything serious. It was just fail after fail.” You say with a bitter laugh as you hold back tears.
“Then I just stopped looking, kept my head up, focused on work. And it paid off with the promotion it really did. But even with the raise I just felt so empty...” You say weakly as you blink back tears.
There’s a quiet minute, neither of you says anything you just set the wine down and sit in comfortable silence.
“Callum...wasn’t planned. At all.” Heeseung speaks up, his own voice shaky with emotion.
“I wasn’t in love with his mom. I was in college, was acting reckless, thought I was being careful that one time.” He says his voice dripping with self-depreciation. The tone makes your heart-ache.
“Then she told me she was pregnant and that she wanted to keep him. So I stepped up. I got another job, took summer classes, and thought I could maybe redeem myself by showing up and doing the right thing.” Heeseung adds.
“It wasn’t what I signed up for. But the minute Callum was born, the minute I became a father I just instantly had so much love for him. So I was determined to make it work with his mom.” Heeseung confesses.
“She was bartending and taking classes, I was just starting with the company, and one night—she left for a shift late at night and didn’t come back. Found out she was killed in a car accident. That guilt, fuck it eats you alive.” Heeseung says, his voice shaking as he tries to hold it all together.
You lean in, gently pulling him closer, just offering to let him rest or pull away. His arms reach around your waist, pulling you closer.
“You’re doing enough, trust me.” You whisper into his ear as you pull him closer.
His breath hitches, and he squeezes your waists tighter. “I didn’t expect to be a single dad at twenty-one god that just sounds—“
“Like a lot..yeah..” you finish.
“But this with you..feels like the missing piece to a puzzle I didn’t even realize I was struggling to put together,” Heeseung confesses.
Your heart stops at his confession. Your fingertips shake, this is exactly what you’ve been missing too.
Someone to lean on, a home to come home to.
“I didn’t expect it to be you,” you whisper, still trembling from the confession.
“Me either, but I’m tired of pushing this away,” Heeseung confesses.
You kiss him, gasping into his mouth as you taste the sweet wine lingering on his lips. Your hands slide to the back of his neck, pulling him impossibly closer.
You don’t even realize tears are falling from your face until his hand gently cups your face, his thumb brushing the tears away. You kiss him harder, pouring everything into the kiss.
Heeseung pulls away gasping for air. His lips still mingling against yours, his breath shaky as he tries to hold himself back from diving in for more.
“Will you come to bed with me? I want to take my time with you. No interruptions” He suggests with a weak breathless laugh.
You’re so breathless all you can do is nod.
Heeseung kicks the room to his door open with his foot. He lies you down on the bed in the dark room. His breath was heavy and labored already.
“Fuck..” he curses as she kisses you again, this time it’s hungry, needy. He lets his lips drag down your throat. And you can’t help but arch into his touch.
Your hips arch off the bed and Heeseung lets out a sharp exhale. He reluctantly pulls away from your skin, his fingertips hooking inside the waistband of your shorts.
In one swift motion, he pulls them down tossing them to the floor.
You gasp as the cold air hits your bare pussy, already starting to get wet from just his kissing. He doesn’t even bother to pull off the rest of your clothes.
He locks eyes with you as he spreads your legs, leaning in to drag his lips across the inside of your thighs.
“You’re so wet already? Goddamn, just from some kissing?” Heeseung asks rhetorically.
He spreads your legs and dives in.
He lets out a deep groan of approval as his mouth finds your heat, his large hands keep your legs spread apart as he licks another slow stripe from your dripping entrance to your clit.
“Heeseung God—“ you moan weakly as he holds you open more. He pushes up the fabric of your shirt so his hands can feel the warm skin on your hips and waist.
“So fucking sweet…” Heeseung mumbles as he pulls away to catch his breath, only to gently kiss your inner thighs before his tongue slides across your folds again.
Your breath gets caught in your chest, the feeling of pleasure already starting to build in your core. Your hands tangle in his dark hair pulling him in closer.
Heeseung drags his tongue through your folds like he is trying to memorize every inch. You gasp, feeling yourself dripping as his tongue flicks your sensitive clit.
Heeseung catches on, you like that. He drags his tongue back towards your clit and gives it more attention. He lightly sucks on it as your back arches off the mattress.
“You’re so good with him. Holding his hand, tucking him in—Do you have any idea what that does to a man?” Heeseung murmurs as he pulls away from you to breathe.
You whimper as he kisses the inside of your thighs, your pussy shamelessly clenching around nothing as his mouth makes its way back to your place of need.
“That's it, soak me, let me give you a proper thank you.”  Heeseung mumbles into your heat. His tongue moves hot and fast like he’s been waiting to do this.
You feel yourself letting go. Your body relaxes under his touch, deep moans escaping from your throat as he eats you out with precision.
“Fuck keep going…” You moan as you prop yourself up on your arms to get a look at him between your legs.
He's deep in it. His eyes halfway shut as his hands grip tighter onto the back of your thighs. He’s completely lost in pleasuring you.
Your thighs tremble as he picks up speed, lapping at your aching clit between long, thick stripes up your folds.
He doubles down his efforts, squeezing your thighs tight, keeping them open as he sucks more ridged moans from you.
You curse, letting his name fall shamelessly from your lips as he pushes you to the edge. That familiar warm knot starts to pool in your stomach. Thighs trembling by his ears.
His tongue slides away from your clit, dipping into your wet hole to taste more of what you have to offer. His fingertips dig into your skin as he fucks his tongue into you with a low groan of satisfaction.
You’re wet, dripping, shamelessly letting it coat Heeseung’s lips and drip down his chin as he fucks his tongue into it with a steady pace.
“Oh, fuck I'm gonna come, Heesung—” You gasp breathlessly as your grip tightens in his hair. Your moans only grew deeper and thighs shook on either side of his head.
“Come for me, baby…Fuck I need it—” Heeseung gasps into your wet pussy, the sounds of his lips sucking at you only pushes you further.
He finds your clit again, tongue pressing harder as he traces patterns across it. Following your moans as he pushes you over the edge.
You let go. The orgasm is better and stronger than anything you could achieve with your vibrator. You shamelessly coat his lips and the sheets beneath with your hot arousal.
Heeseung gasps into you as he laps up what he can, you coat his face, wave after wave. Your clit buzzing with pleasure as he anchors his tongue to it.
He slows his movements to small, lazy licks as you come down from your high. Your grip loosens as your body falls limp onto the mattress.
The heat flushes your cheeks as you bask in the afterglow, your body still twitching from the intensity of your orgasm. Completely overstimulated.
“Damn I can’t remember the last time I came like that..” you reply breathlessly. Your chest vigorously rises and falls as you struggle to chase your breath.
Heeseung licks you one last time, savoring your sweet wetness before he pulls himself away. Wiping your juices off his lips and chin before he hovers over you. His large hands caging you in on either side of your head.
“You should go ahead and throw away that vibrator. Now that I’ve got you I’m not letting you go.” Heeseung says with a playful smirk.
You cup his face as he leans in, kissing you slowly, his tongue languid against yours as he lets you taste your sweet essence on his lips.
“Fuck need to be inside you. Holy shit—“ Heeseung says breath catching in his chest as he kisses down your neck, his hands slipping into the waistband of his sweats before pulling them down.
He tosses them to the side letting his aching cock spring free. It’s thick, hard, and already leaking.
He doesn’t waste any more time. Heeseung guides you onto your back, his eyes locked on you as he spreads apart your legs just how he likes it, notching his sensitive tip into your wet entrance.
He glances at you one last time for consent. You nod.
He lets out a low groan as he pushes in. Your heat is tight, enveloping him and squeezing him perfectly. He takes his time sliding into you. Once he’s buried to the hilt he pauses.
“You were made for me—“
Heeseung starts to move, pulling out until just his swollen tip is notched inside only to grip your hips tighter as he slams back in. The wet sound of your body echoing off the walls.
“Mmm..you have no idea how many times I’ve dreamed about this with you…” he confesses, his pace picking up slightly. Your hands fly to his shoulders, gripping him for support.
You only get wetter, his thick cock spreading you open deliciously with each thrust.
You’re breathless as his thick cock slides against your walls, hitting spots inside you didn’t even know existed.
“Fuck the way you’re squeezing me? Goddamn, you're making me want to make another baby…”
Heeseung mumbles as he grips the back of your knees, pushing your legs back towards the bed as he sinks even deeper into you.
“Just imagine it, we could give Callum a sister, fuck imagine her with your hair and your eyes—“
You feel it again, that pit of despair in your stomach, that feeling of emptiness, that feeling of being broken.
“Heeseung…” you cut him off, your frustrated tone snapping him out of the mood.
“Everything okay? Am I hurting you? He asks frantically, brows furrowing with confusion as he slows his thrusts. His breath is heavy as his hand moves from your leg to your face.
“Heeseung I can’t.” You say, your throat feeling like it’s being wrapped in barbed wire as you hold back tears.
“You can’t? Can’t what?” Heeseung asks as he stops his thrusts, his voice full of concern as his hands cup your face. Thumbs brushing across the softness of your cheeks.
“I can’t get pregnant, the chances are low.” You choke out, the words feeling like they’re being ripped from your heart.
You can’t help but start to sob after all these years dealing with this battle alone.
Heeseung just holds you, his warm hands pulling you close. He doesn’t say anything right away, he just lets you cry.
“I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have said—I didn’t know…” he whispers intimately like anything louder would break you even more.
“It's okay, I’ve never told anyone this before.” You choke out as the aching sob comes to a stop.
He’s still holding you, still inside you, still wanting you.
He didn’t even flinch, he just held you.
“I always told myself I didn’t want it, want this. The kids the mess, the family. Thought I could fill that emptiness by being the career girl.—" You say chest heaving as you whimper another sob.
“I can’t give you the life you want.” You whisper painfully.
“I already have it.” Heeseung whispers against you as he holds you closer.
“You, Callum, all of it. We can make it work. We could be a family again…” his voice trails off weakly.
His words take the air out of your lungs, you can’t even speak, so you kiss him.
Slow, deep, messy. Just like how everything so far has felt with him.
And you wouldn’t want it any other way.
His hands slide down your body again, hands gently holding your hips. He slowly starts to rock his half-hard cock back into you. His lips dragging away from yours.
“Tell me what you need, do you want to keep going?” Heeseung asks, his breath heavy, his cock already starting to grow hard. Your warmth makes him choke back a moan.
“Don’t stop..” you gasp, your eyes still watering from before. Heeseung leans down, his soft lips kissing your tears away as he slowly buries himself inside you.
Heeseung takes his time, dragging his cock through your clenching walls only to push back in. His swollen tip kissing your cervix deep.
He just holds you like you're the most precious thing in the world.
He fucks you like your fragile, not in an attempt to break you, it’s like he’s treasuring you instead.
The sounds of skin on skin fills the room, the squelch between your bodies is erotic.
You can’t help but reach out to him. His hands hold you close, making you finally feel complete.
He leans down to kiss you again, his lips reluctantly pull away for him to whisper.
“I don’t need any more kids, not some perfect plan, you’re everything. And I love you, every part of you.” Heeseung confesses against your lips.
Your world feels like it stops in that moment. After everything you've confessed, he still wants you.
Ans after everything he's confessed to you, you feel the same way.
“I love you too.” You choke out, trying to hold back another sob. Heeseung lets a breathy laugh slip past his lips. Like he can’t exactly believe this is happening, that this is real.
You clench around him with a gasp, grounding him in reality.
This is real.
His hand slips between your slick bodies, fingertips finding you clit, still coated wet.
“Fuck…Heeseung…” you moan into his neck. Your nails dug into the porcelain skin of his biceps. Your hips rock into his, chasing your release again.
“Need you to come again, on my cock this time.” Heeseung gasps, his own hips jerking as he feels himself slipping towards the edge. His hand still rubbing small, torturous circles on your clit.
“Heeseung I’m—fuck so close—“ you whisper weakly. Your heart beats rapidly as you feel the warmth in your stomach again. Legs shaking as he pushes you over the edge.
You come again, hands gripping him tight as he buries himself deep inside you. You clench around him, moaning his name as your toes curl with pleasure. Dripping wetness like a wave, the sheets below getting soaked.
“Fuck, that’s it, I’m gonna come—“ he whimpers as he thrusts one last time hard and deep. He exhales as thick ropes of cum shoot into you. Painting you as his.
He gasps your name as his cock throbs and he pushes deeper, letting your pussy squeeze out every drop of his cum.
You don’t move, the two of you just lie there, heavy breathing echoing off the walls as cum drips down your inner thighs.
Heeseung kisses you, his thumbs tracing small patterns right above the skin of your hips. He kisses you slow and deep like he’s telling you everything he couldn’t find words to say out loud.
He breaks away, his sweaty forehead resting on yours. His eyes were half-lidded with desire, his softening cock still inside your warmth.
“I love you.” He whispers, truthfully. There’s nothing else behind it.
“I love you too.” You gasp back, tears threatening to spill again.
With those words, it feels like the weight of the past falls away.
The path ahead isn’t smooth, but it’s a path worth walking.
This time it’s not about the picture-perfect plan or the picture-perfect image.
It’s imperfect and for once that’s enough.
A beautiful second chance.
For you and him.
*8 months later*
The timer for the oven beeps over the sound of laughter. You’re back in his home dressed in warm pajamas, bare feet on the kitchen floor.
You watch Callum as he plays in the living room with his toys. An old Christmas movie playing on the TV as the warmth of the house envelops you.
You open the oven, and the scent of freshly baked apple pie fills the air. The heat from the oven is nothing in comparison to how full your heart feels. You set the pie on the cooling rack, turning to place the oven mitts back in the drawer.
“Oh my God that smells amazing,” Heeseung says as he rounds the corner with a huge smile on his face.
“Apple pie, your favorite— You can thank the freezer aisle at Walmart.” You say with a soft chuckle.
Heeseung steps closer to you, pulling you into his arms and spinning you around like a scene out of a cheesy rom-com.
He looks you in the eyes, full of love. His breath hitches as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small folded piece of copy paper.
“What’s this?” You ask softly. Take the paper in your hands and slowly unfold it piece by piece.
“It’s from Cal. I was just waiting for the right moment…” Heeseung whispers, his voice slightly trembling as he watches you.
Your heart stops.
It’s a drawing with highlighters, a house scribbled into the background, a tall man with dark hair, a little boy with the same…
And a woman who looks a lot like you.
Before you can even process it all Heeseung is in front of you, dropping to one knee.
You can’t even breathe, he just smiles at you as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a tiny red box.
“So I don’t have a speech planned, or roses or a photographer. But you, here, with Callum and I, it’s a second chance I never imagined I’d have. And I love you, and I want nothing more than to wake up beside you every day as my wife…”
“Will you marry me?”
His voice cracks, his hands tremble.
You glance at the ring, and then back at him, proposing in the middle of the kitchen in his pajamas.
And it would be your greatest honor to become this man’s wife.
“Yes. God yes.” You say breathlessly. Heeseung smiles with relief, he wastes no time taking the ring from the box and sliding it onto your finger.
It’s delicate and simple. No huge diamonds or lavish gold. But it’s more than enough.
He kisses you. His arms wrap around you like he never wants to let you go. You break away from his lips as you hear Callum barrel into the kitchen.
“Did she say yes?!!” He asks as he hugs the both of you.
You wipe the tears from your cheeks with a soft breathless laugh.
“She did Cal-“ Heeseung says with a smile as he gives you another gentle peck on the lips.
“Ewww are you guys going to kiss more now? That’s gross.” Callum groans.
“You’ll understand one day Cal...” Heeseung mutters.
You pull away taking the drawing in your hand and placing it front and center on the fridge with a homemade magnet.
And you take one look around at everything. And the puzzle finally feels complete.
This wasn’t just a new beginning.
This isn’t just a second chance,
Maybe it was the right one all along.

..
The sun was setting over Barcelona's training ground, it was late already–too late for a certain player to be on the pitch. But Y/n was there, happier than ever, with her headphones on while she trained some dribbling skills with one of the dummies.
The training had ended one hour ago, but some players were still at Barcelona’s training ground, although most of them were having physiotherapy sessions or late gym hours–meaning they were far away from the pitch, so there weren’t any chances Y/n would be caught.
Y/n had a whole thing planned out. After training, she took a shower in the changing room, talked a bit with Jana and Vicky before taking her gym bag and saying goodbye, walking through the door as she rambled about how much homework she had to do when she got home.
But when Jana and Vicky took a left in the corridors, Y/n told them she had forgotten her water bottle–again, so she had to go back and get it. Jana and Vicky watched as Y/n walked. The two girls had no idea that their friend was actually planning yet another training session on the pitch.
Although no one could know about Y/n’s late-night rendezvous, because she actually wasn’t allowed to stay in the training center past 6 pm, Barcelona’s team had created this rule because Y/n got so caught up training after-hours that she didn’t do her homework.
Y/n had to balance school, in between being professional players for Barcelona and England, but the girl couldn't care less about school.
Football was her life. It wasn’t just her passion; it was the one thing that made her feel truly alive.
She was a star on the pitch, but when it came to school, she was a different story. Books? Boring. Homework? A waste of time. For her, the only subject that mattered was football.
Her grades were slipping…badly. The headmistress at her school had to call Barcelona’s office to talk about it because Y/n’s parents weren’t in the country, and she had no one to take care of
Of course, Barcelona thought it would be a good idea to assign someone to assist and look over Y/n. A normal club would have hired a teacher, or even a babysitter, but since Barcelona had this weird "Som una família" [we’re family] vibes, they assigned no one less than La Reina, Alexia Putellas herself, to be the one to help her with geometry homework.
At first, Y/n thought Alexia wouldn't take it seriously, maybe just to go to some parent-teacher meetings when necessary. But no, Alexia had made it one of her life responsibilities to get Y/n through math classes.
And that’s why she was hiding from Alexia now. She had told the captain that she was going home just before she met with Vicky and Jana. Alexia just nodded and kissed her on the cheeks as she–very weirdly–was the first to go home.
Y/n could easily fit in another hour or two of training before the center actually closed. What if she had history homework? Barcelona had a big game coming up, plus, international dates were just a few weeks away, and she had been called up to the senior squad again–she had to be in top shape.
So Y/n stayed on the pitch. Her headphones on.
She flicked the ball between her feet to the rhythm of Young Hearts Run Free, lost in the music and movement. She didn’t even hear the footsteps approaching. She only noticed when…
Yank.
A sharp pain ran through her ear as her headphone was pulled out of her head.
"Ouch"! Y/n turned around, rubbing the sore spot. "What the fuck?! That’s child abuse–"
Her eyes found a very, very angry Alexia. Her throat felt dry, as if she couldn't speak.
She was in so much trouble.
Alexia was right in front of her, arms crossed, looking very unhappy. Her hair was down,  her make-up was done, and…wait. Was she wearing…a dress? Huh?
"Ale? What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing, nena," Alexia said sternly. "How many times have I told you to go straight home after training?"
Y/n looked down, playing with the ball on her feet, feeling her cheeks blushing for getting caught.
"I asked you a question," Alexia said– before kicking the ball from y/n’s feet, sending it rolling into the net.
Goal..yay?
"I just need to train more, Ale!" Y/n said exasperatedly, pointing towards the goal as if to prove her point. “International break is c–”
"International breaks do not matter if you fail school!" Alexia said. "You know you need to present a clean school report to play for the senior squad, right?"
"Yes, I know that," Y/n muttered.
"It doesn't seem like you do," Alexia said, casually pulling her phone from her purse and holding it up to Y/n’s face.
Oh no, Y/n knew what that meant.
"You got a 2/10 on your biology test, and then a 3/10 on your math test," Alexia said. "First of all, why am I finding out about it through an email? Why didn't you tell me?
"Because you’d get mad at me just like you’re now!" Y/n shot back
"I'm not mad!" Alexia said, voice tight. "I'm disappointed."
Y/n froze and stared at Alexia.
Y/n felt a cold rush go through her body, setting a weight on her chest.
Disappointed? She could handle being yelled at. She could deal with Alexia being frustrated or angry. But disappointment? Y/n didn’t know what to do with this. It felt wrong.
"I make time on my schedule to help you study," Alexia said, her finger counting off each point. "I buy things you need for school projects, I read the same books you need to read for Spanish class to try and motivate you, and this is what I get in return? Slack?’
Y/n felt her eyes fill with tears. She tried to find something to say, but her usual funny and witty comments that would normally get her out of any serious situation were nowhere to be found.
Alexia was looking at her, her eyes and lips tight, her foot tapping on the grass restlessly. She missed the usual gentle and patient Alexia right now more than anything.
"I know you love football, Y/n, but this," Alexia pointed towards the pitch. "Is only a small part of what your life will look like in the future; you need to be ready for more."
Y/n swallowed hard, blinking rapidly, trying not to let Alexia see her tears, but she failed. She quickly wiped it away with the sleeve of her barça hoodie while looking away.
“You need school to move forward, you can be the very best players on the pitch, but if you don’t give the same effort off of it, you’re not going to make it very far,” Alexia’s voice softened just slightly.
Alexia’s words hung in the air as she watched the girl standing in front of her.
“Sorry,” Y/n said quietly, “I shouldn't have hid it from you.”
"Have I ever made you feel like you needed to hide things from me?" Alexia said, taking a step closer and placing her hand on Y/n’s shoulder as she leaned just slightly to be the same height as her eyes.
Y/n shook her head.
“Exactly," Alexia said,  putting a hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “This is the first time I’ve been stern with you, isn’t it?”
Y/n nodded, looking away.
“Will it be the last?” Alexia asked.
Y/n wished she could easily nod along without a second thought, but she also knew how much of a hard time she had with school. But still, she couldn't let it happen again, and couldn't let Alexia get this upset with her.
So she forced the word out. “Yes.”
“Okay, good,”  Alexia said. “Let's go. It's late.”
Without another word, Alexia turned toward the exit, and Y/n followed her.
They didn’t talk on the way out, but the silence wasn’t necessarily uncomfortable.
The steady weight of Alexia’s hand on her shoulder, and the way she effortlessly picked up Y/n’s training bag and slung it over her own–it was enough.
Y/n didn’t need to hear the words to know that she was forgiven.
They walked through the car park, the night cold and the postlight brightening the way they made Alexia's black car.
Y/n was already thinking of what to expect from the car drive as she rubbed the sting on her ear from where Alexia had oh-so-graciously removed her headphones and tugged at her ear.
They would probably be in a quiet, awkward ride–just her and Alexia’s disappointing sight and, very occasionally, passive-aggressive grips on the steering wheel as Alexia made sure to put on the worst songs ever known to humankind.
Alexia had given Y/n a bunch of rides, so Y/n followed the usual routine of going to the passenger seat, but to her surprise, there was a woman sitting there,
One Y/n had never met.
Y/n tilted her head, trying to think of every single player of every single women's team in La Liga. No, she wasn’t in any team. Then she thought of the staff of Barcelona… also no.
Yep, Y/n had no clue who this person was.
Y/n slowed her steps, eyebrows furrowing as she took in the unfamiliar woman sitting there.
She was pretty. Dark hair, and soft features, a warm smile was on her lips as she watched Y/n and Alexia approaching.
Y/n stopped right outside the car, looking between her and Alexia with suspicion. "Uh, Ale? Who is this?"
Alexia sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as if already exhausted by the interrogation she knew was coming.
"Y/n, this is Olga. Olga, this is Y/n." Alexia said simply. "You go there," Alexia pointed at the back seat.
Olga turned fully in her seat, extending a hand out the window.
"So you’re the famous nena, huh?" Olga said, smiling genuinely. "Alexia talked a lot about you."
"Oh yeah? She did?" Y/n shook her head before immediately nodding. "I like you already… Olga."
She pulled open the back door and climbed in as Alexia slid into the driver’s seat.
Silence settled over the car as Alexia started driving. Y/n had expected her to be better at small talk, but apparently, she wasn’t.
"So…" Y/n leaned forward, poking her head between the front seats. "Who even are you, Olga?"
"Get back to your seat and put on your seat belt," Alexia said sharply. "And…we were having dinner."
"Having dinner?" Y/n asked.
"Sí"
"Where?"
"Does it matter?"
"Yes."
"It’s that Italian place near Carrer de Pàdua," Olga finally explained, noticing how Alexia seemed to only give the young girl vague answers. "It’s great!"
"Wait–did you guys go to L'Italiano Perso?" Y/n asked
"Sí," Alexia said again. "We were on a date–"
Y/n’s eyes widened. "Wait. What?" She stopped buckling herself up, being too shocked by Alexia’s revelation.
"A date, Y/n," Alexia said in exasperation, a heavy voice. "You know, when two people who like each other go out…u might not know much about it, but–"
"Since when do you date?!" Y/n interrupted. "And excuse me? I go on plenty of dates! Thank you!"
"Drop it." Alexia sought, tying her hands around the wheel, Y/n could even see the blush of her cheeks
"Oh bloody hell!" Y/n exposed, putting her hand on her own cheeks. "Does your mom know about it? Your sister?"
"If you don’t shut up, I’m stopping at the England embassy to have you deported," Alexia said, deadpanned.
"Ok, that was rude," Y/n said, finishing buckling her seatbelt and leaning her back into her seat. "I can think of a few English people who would love to have me back."
"Let’s get you back to then, maybe this way I can have a proper date once"
The drive was mostly silent after that, Y/n noticed that Alexia's awful music taste was replaced by cool, modern songs. After a few minutes thinking why Y/n saw that it was Olga’s Spotify that was connected to Alexia's car.
Hm. Good piece of information.
That meant that it wasn’t their first date…
Wait. Fuck
Y/n’s stomach sank.  Alexia was on a date.
A date that she had to interrupt because of Y/n's stupid irresponsibility
“Oh no!” Y/n said.
“Oh no?” Olga turned to look at her, and then at Alexia, as if the blonde could decipher everything that came out of Y/n’s mouth. “What happened?”
“I ruined your date.” Y/n’s eyes widened. “I'm so sorry, Ale!”
“Nena," she sighed as she held the wheel with one hand and rubbed her temples with the other. “You didn’t ruin anything, don’t worry.”
“No, seriously, I totally ruined your date." Y/n looked between them, horrified. “That’s why you look… so put together all of a sudden! That’s why you were in a dress! I thought that was weird! I’m so–”
“Y/n." Alexia’s voice was sharp, a blush growing into her neck as she avoided making eye contact with Olga, who was biting down a laugh. “Shut. Up.”
Y/n pouted. “But did I really ruin it?”
Alexia sighed. “We were having dinner, and then I got that email about your grades, and I got mad. So I drove to your house, and when you weren’t there, I knew exactly where you’d be.”
"Uh…oops?." Y/n cringed.
Y/n realised she could never be captain. Imagine being on a date and receiving an email from a kid–that wasn’t even your kid– saying they went bad on a test about cell division and having to drop everything to go look for them? Nope.
Olga turned in her seat again, resting her chin on her palm as she looked at Y/n. “You know, if you wanted to sabotage Alexia’s love life, there are easier ways.”
Y/n quickly caught Olga’s teasing tone and smiled at her.
"I wasn’t trying to sabotage, I was just training, I swear!" Y/n laughed, loving watching how Alexia’s eyes rolled.
"Instead of doing your homework," Alexia added, making a U-turn.
Y/n groaned, dramatically. "I get it, I get it, I’m a disappointment, bla bla bla"
"You’re not a disappointment," Alexia rolled her eyes. "Stop being dramatic, you’re just–"
“An academic disaster?” Y/n offered an awkward smile on her face.
“A headache.” Alexia finished.
“You two are fun," Olga said, placing a hand on Alexis's thigh. "It makes me laugh.”
Y/n grinned. "Does that mean I can be the third wheel all the time?"
"No," Alexia said
"We’ll see," Olga said at the same time, winking at Y/n.
Y/n sat up quickly, having a bright idea. "Well, if that’s how it’s gonna be, I might as well ask… Olga, do you know anything about mitosis and meiosis? I’ve got a test coming up..."
Alexia immediately shot a glare at her. "Y/n, no. Stop bothering Olga."
Y/n put her hands up defensively. "Hey, I’m just trying to help my education!"
"Maybe you should help yourself first," Alexia mumbled.
"You know, you should listen to your captain before she strangles you," Olga said, laughing.
Y/n watched as Alexia smirked at Olga…Smirked!
"Okay, ew!" Y/n said, "Was that…flirting? Please stop the car so I can throw up."
"Oh Déu meu, nena, calla!" Alexia snapped.
Y/n squinted her eyes. "I have no idea what you just said, Alexia, but I bet it was rude!".
But then, Y/n noticed something strange.
Y/n leaned forward, confusion in her eyes. "Wait a minute...why aren’t you driving me home?"
"I’m going to school with you tomorrow," Alexia said casually, as if it wasn’t a big deal at all. "It’s easier if you sleep at mine, I’ll drop by your house in the morning so you can get your school bag and then we can head out from the..."
Y/n raised her eyebrows. "What? Why are you going to school with me?"
“They want to talk about your grades and about the next international break –you’ll be three weeks out of school, they want to see how we can organize your school work.”
"Okay, but they can talk to me about it," Y/n said. "Why do they want you there
"Why do they want me there? Nena, did I  give you an earful for nothing?" Alexia glanced at her, impatience in her voice. "I’m responsible for you! They want to make sure you’ll have an actual adult looking out for your education."
"So you’re coming with me—" Y/n said carefully.  "Like, as a parent?"
"Sí," Alexia replied, completely unfazed.
"Oh, come on, Ale! This is so embarrassing!"Y/n threw herself back into her seat, groaning. "Don’t you have training or something better to do?"
"Sí, I do actually," Alexia simply said. “And I’ll be very happy at training tomorrow if I didn’t have to go talk to the headmistress, but since someone needs to keep an eye on you, I’ll be the one to do it."
Alexia paused for a second, then added, "Also, you’re benched for the next two games."
"What? No!" Y/n yelled.
"Sí."
"You can’t do that!"
Alexia turned to her with a calm expression. "I just did, nena.”
Y/n ran her hands through her face dramatically. “You’re ruining my career, forever.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Alexia waved off with one hand. “You’ll survive.”
“I don’t think I will.”
“We’ll see that.”
Y/n groaned again and rolled her eyes.
"You beware, Olga," Y/n mumbled, crossing her arms and looking out of the window. "She’s always this pain in the a–"
"You just won yourself another game on the bench," Alexia said. “Wow, that’s got to be a new personal record, huh?”
Looked at Alexia through the rearview mirror, indignation on her face.
Olga raised her eyebrows, biting back a grin as she watched Y/n’s reaction. She gave her leg a light pat, offering no real support.
"Oh, rough amiga, but maybe you can study a bit while you’re on the sideline."
"You know what, Olga," Y/n said with a betrayed look in her eyes. "I don’t like you anymore."
..
When they finally reached Alexia’s house, Y/n was determined to get back at Alexia for being so… she wasn't actually sure. A responsible adult?A good guardian? It didn’t matter the reasoning, she just wanted to annoy Alexia.
But now, after meeting Olga, Y/n realized there were even better and more efficient ways to annoy Alexia.
As they stepped inside, Y/n noticed how familiar Olga seemed with the place, so she couldn’t help but smirk, and she formulated a plan.
"It’s your first time here?" Y/n asked, casually tossing her gym bag by the door.
"Nena," Alexia warned, making sure Y/n knew Alexia was very aware of what she was doing.
"Oh, no," Olga said, flashing Y/n a smile. "I’ve been here before… You know, movie nights and stuff like that."
"Oh yeah," Y/n said, dragging out the words with insinuation. "Movie night, I get it," she winked at Olga.
"So where am I sleeping?" Y/n asked, changing her attention from Olga to Alexia.
"Guest room."
"But you only have one guest room!" Y/n protested, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah? And?" Alexia shrugged, her tone casual. "You’re only one person."
"But where’s Olga sleeping?" Y/n pressed, leaning in with a teasing grin.
"In my room," Alexia replied nonchalantly, trying not to make a big deal about it so Y/n wouldn’t make a big deal about it.
But of course, Alexia was wrong.
Y/n shot a playful glance at Olga, eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, okay," she said, her voice dripping with playful sarcasm. "Well, I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone then…don’t wanna get in the way of more than just the date, you know."
Olga bit back a laugh, but Alexia turned to Y/n with a look that could kill.
"Go. Now." Alexia pointed toward the stairs. "And do all your homework for tomorrow. I’ll check in during breakfast."
All the playfulness drained from Y/n’s face.
"All my homework?” Y/n whined, “It’s a lot of stuff and it’s late already!”
"Should’ve thought of that before sneaking out to the pitch," Alexia said, her voice emotionless.
Y/n groaned dramatically. "I hate you."
"Yeah, yeah. It’s part of the job," Alexia said, waving her off like it was nothing. "Now go."
..
Y/n did what Alexia asked of her, or at least…she tried.
She had to do homework for basically every subject because she didn’t get any work done during the week, so it was all piling up. She grabbed Alexia’s notebook from her room before accessing her school website and logging in to see every assignment and reading she had to do, and it was a lot.
She began her while lying on the bed, reading slide presentations and watching some YouTube videos about the subjects. It helped a little, but everything was still so blurry in her head.
Why did she have to learn geometry? Or learn about the deep history of every country in Europe?
The girl groaned and closed the notebook, putting it aside.
She was dumb. That's what it was.
Y/n was always the slowest in class, the last kid to learn how to read or to spell, the one you absolutely didn't go to if you had questions about school work. Y/ns teachers also made sure she knew how bad she was compared to other students.
She felt inferior and worthless whenever she was in school. But when she was on the pitch? She was good–one of the best, even!
That’s why she didn't like to do homework, it reminded her how much harder she had to work compared to others just to get a 6/10.
Y/n rolled her eyes and turned around, she turned around a lot before she was actually able to fall asleep.
..
Y/n woke up to the sound of her phone ringing and vibrating aggressively under her pillow. She barely had time to process what was happening, and she looked at the screen on the phone, confused, reading the name Leah Williamson.
She sighed and rubbed her eyes, knowing exactly why Leah was calling. She had barely survived Alexia’s lecture, and now she is going to have to hear through another one.
With a deep breath, Y/n clicked the green button on the screen. "If this is about the email, I–"
"What email?" Leah's voice came on, slightly confused.
"Hmm… this isn’t about the email?"
"No, this is about you not doing your homework–according to Alexia" There was a pause. "Should I be checking my email too?"
Y/n cursed under her breath before replying. "No! No email. Forget I said that…I just woke up, so I must have, hm, dreamed about…emails"
"Uhum,” Leah said sarcastically. "I’ll be asking Alexia about that later…Now tell me what the hell is going on with you? Sneaking to the pitch? Really?"
Y/n winced. "Leah, I’ve already talked to Alexia about it, I don’t need you too–"
"Yes, you do need me to talk to you because it seems like you think you’re your own person, but you are only sixteen.”
“Leah!” Y/n groaned.
"No, Y/n. You don’t get to complain. You promised you’d take school seriously." Leah said, and Y/n quickly remembered the numerous times Leah had also lectured her about it during camp. "And don’t try the ‘football is all I need’ argument, because you and I both know that’s not true."
Y/n pressed her lips together, knowing full well she wouldn’t win this one. She kept quiet, scared to say the wrong thing and make Leah even more mad.
"I’m serious, Y/n. You need to get your act together. Alexia’s worried!" Leah said. "She told me it wasn't the first time that you played football instead of studying! You need to learn your responsibilities."
Y/n muttered something that Leah couldn't understand..
"What was that?" Leah asked
"I said that Alexia is a snitch."
"She’s a snitch because you didn't tell me first," Leah said. "But since I need to have the Alexia Putellas on my phone giving me updates about your school life, we both decided to do things in our own way."
Y/n gulped, scared of whatever Alexia and Leah had planned together
"You can expect a lot, and I mean a lot of textbooks in your room when you get to camp," Leah said. "I’ll keep a close eye on you here in England, and Alexia will do the same when you’re in Barcelona; we won’t let you keep this on."
"Serious kid," Leah continued. "You moved to Spain on your own at sixteen, you have your own house, you’re talented, but you refuse to do a few math exercises? Come on, mate"
"I’m sorry," Y/n muttered. "I’ll be better, I’m just…"
"What?" Leah asked, her voice softer now.
"I'm dumb, okay!" Y/n blurted out before she could stop herself. "I don’t get things quickly, and it just—it doesn’t stick like it does with other people."
"Hey, don’t say that," Leah cut in, her voice sharp with concern. "Struggling with school doesn’t make you dumb, you’re smart, kid. You wouldn’t be where you are if you weren't."
"It doesn't seem like that most of the time," y/n said in a low voice.
"You might not see it," Leah said. "But the people around you certainly do, that’s why we keep pushing you, we know you can do much better."
"Look, I have to go," Y/n sighed. "Alexia apparently has to go to school with me today."
"Okay, kid, we’ll talk later, then," Leah said. "Good luck with that! Love you, bye!"
"Love you too," y/n said before she hung up the phone and put it aside.
Y/n rubbed the sleep off of her eyes, and that’s when she heard the door crack open.
"You’re not dumb, nena," Alexia said, firm but gentle.
Y/n’s head snapped up. "Ale! Were you…eavesdropping on my conversation?"
"Sí," Alexia replied without hesitation, crossing her arms. "You’re loud, and I was coming to tell you breakfast is ready."
Y/n groaned, sinking further into her seat. "Unbelievable."
Alexia didn’t waver. She leaned forward slightly, her expression serious. "Cariño, listen to me. You are not dumb. Don’t ever say that again, do you understand?"
Y/n hesitated, biting the inside of her cheek. "I just have a really hard time with…school.”
“Then we’ll get you help,” Alexia sighed, stepping closer to Y/n and sitting on the bed by her side. “But first you need to try, you can’t give up like that.”
“We’ll figure it out, sí?” Alexia continued. “I’ll talk to your teachers today, and we’ll think of something.
Y/n nodded, a little more reassured. "Okay."
“Girls!” y/n heard Olga calling from downstairs. “Your breakfast is getting cold!”
“Breakfast, huh?” Y/n nudged Alexia with her shoulder. “Should I get used to seeing Olga around?”
Alexia rolled her eyes, ignoring Y/n and extending her hand, palm open.
“Let me see your homework.”
“Oh come on, mate!”
..
When Alexia said she'd find Y/n some help, she really wasn’t joking.
She had created a whole schedule that balanced football, school, and dedicated study time. She even printed it out and made Y/n hang it in her room, so she’d always know what her day looked like.
Since she was a student-athlete, she only attended school for half the day, doing the rest online. Her schedule was packed—morning classes, lunch, training, online lessons, more training, and homework. That last part? She used to skip it. But now, with Alexia’s plan written out for her, she actually stuck to it.
At first, Y/n thought she’d hate it. That she'd never get used to it. But having a routine was so much easier than doing whatever came to her mind. Plus, her schedule included team study nights, and those turned out to be some of the most fun days of the week.
“I don’t get it,” Aitana said, holding her biology book close to her face, eyes squinted. “It looks so weird.”
Pina turned the book, which was upside down– for her. “Maybe this way is better.”
“No,” Aitana shook her head. “Still weird.”
Y/n was in the middle of writing an essay when their conversation caught her attention. She looked up and scooted close to Aitana and Pina.
“What are you guys looking at?” Y/n asked.
“This,” Aitana said, pointing at the page.
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows “Oh, that’s how the replication of DNA goes.” Y/n said casually, coming back to her work. “You know, double string, DNA polymerase, nucleic acids.”
There was silence.
“And since when did you know that?” Pina finally asked.
Y/n shrugged, getting back at her assay. “Just do.”
“Oh,” Aitana muttered, back to the books. “Alexia is for sure going to love that.”
“Please make sure to tell her,” Y/n sighed dramatically.  “So she can take me off the bench already,”
..
Y/n had just finished a painfully online lesson when her phone rang. She barely glanced at the screen before answering.
“What?”
“Hello to you too, sunshine,” Leah's dry voice came through.
“I’m busy,” Y/m said, taking the pencil she was holding off of her mouth before taking a new textbook and putting it on her study table.
“Too busy for your favorite captain?” Leah teased.
“Oh, I didn’t know this was Alexia,” Y/n said, teasing Leah back;
“You’re awful.”
“Not as awful as school,” Y/n groaned, letting her head fall on the open textbook.
“That bad?” Leah hummed.
“I had to write a whole page about the First Carlist War, it took like an hour!”
“Wow, a whole page,” Leah snorted. “I’m impressed you survived that.”
“You said that because you aren’t the one having to write about dead people after an excruciating training session.”
“Yeah, if you actually did your work, maybe Alexia wouldn’t have to babysit you and make that schedule.”
“She doesn’t babysit me!” Y/n scowled. Offended. “I still live alone and-”
“Oh really?” Leah interrupted. “Then what’s that piece of paper in your room that tells you exactly when to eat, sleep, study… breathe.”
“It’s a routine, Leah.”
“Yeah, routines are like fancy for babysitting teens,” Leah said. “But seriously, though, I'm happy you're actually following it, keep it up.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Y/n huffed, but her lips twitched in a small smile “Don't worry.”
“Okay, kid, gotta go now,” Leah said. “I’m looking forward to your thrilling Carlist War facts when you get to camp next week.”
“Oh, I’ll make sure you listen to them,” Y/n shot back, but it sounded more like a dare.
..
“Are you really sure this is a healthy way of studying?” Salma asked, eying the situation with doubt.
When Y/n had called her, Vick and Jana to her flat for a ‘Girl’s Night’, a Don Quixote quiz wasn’t something she was expecting.
“It seems like fun to me,” Vick said with a grin. “Go on, Salma, ask her already.”
Salma sighed but turned to Y/n, while Jana stood next to her, holding a pillow threateningly close to Y/n’s face. “Alright—why is the narrator of Don Quixote so different when compared to other books?”
Y/n groaned, “Ugh– okay! The narrator is different because the author itself is the one telling the story. But he, uh, kind of switches styles to first person sometimes to give some insight about the story, so it’s like he’s the narrator and a character,” she said quickly, squeezing her eyes shut, waiting for the impact,
Silence.
“Oh, come on,” Vick said, disappointed, glancing down at the little card in Salma‘s hand .“She’s right.”
Jana lowered the pillow dramatically. “Salma! Ask harder questions!”
“You guys are supposed to be helping me study for my literature test, not trying to beat me up with a pillow!” Y/n complained. “Give me some credit here!”
Salma flipped through the flashcards. “Okay, fine…Um, what does the character Dulcinea mean to the story?”
Y/n widened her eyes and opened her mouth. “Oh, hm, it’s like–”
Whack.
Jana didn't even wait for Y/n to say anything before hitting her on the face–hard.
“Jana!” Y/n complained, shoving the pillow away from her face and rubbing at the sore spot on her nose. “I knew that one! She exemplifies the emptiness behind Don quixote's quest for valor and virtue or some shit like that!.”
Salma hesitantly checked on her notes. “–Hm, yeah, she’s right.”
“See!” y/n said, pointing accusingly at Jana. “I was right, you shouldn't have hit me.”
“Oh, she should have hit you harder for being such a nerd,” Vicky mumbled
“Ok, that’s bullying,” Y/n said. “I'll report you to Aitana.”
...
A week later, Alexia stood with Y/n at the airport, arms crossed as she eyed her sternly. “Do your homework, Y/n. I’m serious. And if you have trouble, FaceTime me and we’ll do it together.”
Y/n raised an eyebrow. "Last time you tried to help me, you didn’t understand it either.”
Alexia rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. Olga helped you, though, so FaceTime her if you need to."
"You’re just trying to find reasons for me to interact with Olga because we’re like.. your favourite people in the world," Y/n smirked.
Alexia ignored the comment and continued, “And I’ll call Leah to make sure you’re keeping up with everything we agreed on.”
"Great. Two captains breathing down my neck. Love that for me." Y/n groaned, throwing her head back dramatically.
"You’ll survive, cariño,” Alexia smirked. “Now go before you miss your flight.
..
Y/n was a smart girl, so she made sure to finish most of her homework on the flight to England. That way, when she got to camp, she wouldn’t have to stress over schoolwork too much.
“Hey,” Aggie and Grace greeted as they walked into the room.
The three of them were sharing a room at camp, though Aggie had seriously considered complaining about it.
Every night, Y/n sprawled herself and a ridiculous number of books and notebooks across the floor, creeping very closely to Aggie’s side of the room.
“Wanna go out with us?” Aggie asked, leaning in the doorway. “We’re all heading to that restaurant we talked about.”
Y/n immediately looked up from her book, grinning as she pushed herself up, kicking her books aside. “Yes! You know I’ll never turn down a night out–”
“Have you done your math homework?”
The voice came from behind Aggie and Grace. Both girls instinctively stepped aside.
Leah.
Y/n’s excitement disappeared in seconds. Her shoulders dropped, and her grin turned into a frown. “Le, come on! It’s halfway done. I’ll finish it when I get back.”
“No,” Leah said simply. “You finish it first, then you go out.”
There was no room for argument. Leah was already disappearing down the hallway before Y/n could even think of an excuse.
“I hate this.” Y/n groaned dramatically as she flopped onto Aggie’s bed, ignoring the judgment of the girl's eyes. “I hate school. I hate math. I hate Leah.”
“I think she’s still in the hallway,” Grace whispered.
“It’s alright,” Y/n groaned, “she knows how I feel.”
Y/n mourned her lost night out for a short thirty seconds before she had a brilliant idea. She turned around on the bed, facing the girls, her best puppy dog eyes on her face as she silently pleaded for help.
Grace and Aggie exchanged a look. They both sighted, already regretting it.
“Okay, fine,” Grace said. “We’ll help you finish it faster.”
Y/n happily got off the bed and picked up the math book she had so dramatically kicked under the bed earlier. She flipped to the exercises page and showed it to them.
Both Grace and Aggie squinted their eyes.
“Wait,” Aggia frowned, looking at it closer. “What is this? Where are the–numbers?”
“It’s algebra,” Y/n muttered. “It only has letters.”
“How are we supposed to calculate anything if it doesn't have any number?” Grace asked, despair on her face.
“I'm so not going out tonight,” Y/n said hopelessly.
“I mean..” Aggie began hesitantly. “What’s the worst that could happen if you just…didn’t do it?”
“Yeah,” Grace nodded. “It’s not like Leah would, I don’t know…punch you or anything.”
Y/n went still, but then, with a slow and heavy sigh, she closed the textbook, looking at the wall, as if she was staring into the void. “She’d do something much worse than punching me.”
Aggie and Grace shared another nervous glance. “Like–?” Aggie asked.
“She’d tell Alexia,” Y/n said, eyes full of dread.
“Oh,” Grace paled.
“Yep,” Y/n nodded. “And Alexia would definitely make me do some boxing classes with her just so she could punch me in a non-illegal way.”
Aggie swallowed. “Alright,” she said, trying to shake her fear. “Let’s, hm, do some…math.”
Y/n smiled. “That’s what I thought.”
Algebra wasn't easy. At all.
Aggie, Grace and Y/n tried very hard, but they took 30 minutes to do one exercise–and they weren’t even sure if it was right.
“This isn’t working,” Y/n groaned, staring down at the ruined page in front of her. The paper was ripped in half from how many times she had erased her answer. “We need another plan.”
“I know what we could do, actually,” Aggie announced.
Y/n and Grace perked up. “What?”  Y/n asked hopefully.
“Lucy,” Aggie said in a lower voice, leaning in. “She could do that in like… 20 minutes”.
Y/n blinked. “Lucy?”
“And since when does Lucy know anything about algebra?” Grace frowned.
“She doesn’t,” Aggie admitted. “But we don’t need her knowledge. We need her personality.”
“You better not make me regret it,” Y/n said, “If Leah knows about it I'm gonna be screwed.”
“Relax, leave it out to me.” Aggia waved a hand dismissively.
With that, Aggie confidently grabbed the textbook and walked out of the room, leaving Y/n and Grace apprehensive.
Half an hour had passed before Aggie finally walked back in, holding the textbook as if she had just stolen it somewhere.
“I did it,” Aggie announced happily.
Grace and Y/n got out of the bed they were sitting on. “No way,” Grace murmured.
“How the fuck did she do that?” Y/n asked, snatching the book from Aggie’s hand, flipping the pages in disbelief.
“She did them all?” Grace asked, peeking behind Y/n’s shoulder.
All forty exercises. All done.
In Y/n’s defense, she had made twenty-five of them before Aggie and Grace had come to the room, so technically Lucy didn’t do all the homework for her– Lucy just… helped.
“What did you do, Aggie?” Y/n asked, mouth slightly open from the surprise.
“I dared her,” Aggie said, shrugging casually.
“You…dared her?” Grace asked.
“Yep! Knocked into her room and said I dared she could do those,” Aggie pointed at the book with her chin. “Lucy’s very competitive, so of course she said yes without asking any questions–she just snatched the book out of my hand and went to work.”
“Oh wow,” Y/n Grace.
“You’re like an evil genius,” Y/n said, shaking her head in amazement.
Y/n sat back, flipping through the pages in awe. “Lucy actually did it. Oh. My. God.”
“Oh, yeah,” Aggie said casually. “And then she asked if there were more.”
Y/n and Grace exchanged wide-eyed glances.
“We have got to use this against her more often,” Y/n muttered. “I feel like we just discovered a gold mine.”
“Exactly,” Aggie smirked. “Now let’s get ready, we have a night out waiting for us.”
..
The rest of the camp was unfazed. Y/n actually did all of her homework–by herself–and she didn’t even have to ask Lucy to do it. A true miracle.
It was safe to say Y/n was learning something.
Leah and Alexia were proud of her–even though, technically, she hadn’t mentioned the whole algebra episode to either of them.
But it only happened once…It wasn’t like they were going to find out.
She just needed to make sure Lucy would stay away from Leah, or else she would be dead.
Literally dead. Gone.
Football would lose one of ot’s brightest stars.
..
The flight back home was good.
Y/n actually enjoyed her flight this time because she had no school work to do, a feeling she hadn’t felt in weeks. And the best part? Coming back to Barcelona after winning four games during the international break.
That feeling was great. But not having to take a cab home because Alexia was waiting at the airport for her was even better.
When Y/n spotted the blonde before waving and grinning. She ran to her and practically crashed into Alexia’s arm, her suitcase rolled somewhere behind her.
“I see you missed me,” Alexia teased, wrapping the girl in a hug.
“No, I didn’t,” Y/n mumbled, her face buried in Alexia’s hoodie.
Y/n loved England. It was her home–the place where she grew up, where her real family lived. It reminded her of her childhood, of play dates with her cousin and road trips with her parents.
But Spain was hers. The place she chose, surrounded by people she picked. It was different
“Leah told me you were actually good,” Alexia murmured. “Did everything, didn’t skip any online school.”
Alexia and Y/n walked through the airport.
“Yeah! What can I do? I’m actually smart when I want to be,” Y/n smiled..
Alexia hummed, but this time with a hint of amusement.
“So you imagine my surprise,” Alexia continued casually. “When Lucy texted me–something she hadn't done since she left Barcelona–saying she wanted to do more of your ‘exercises’, that they were cool.”
Y/n froze.
She felt her blood run cold, and she suddenly stopped. Alesia took two steps before realizing Y/n wasn’t by her side.
Alexia turned to look at her, eyebrow raised.
Fuck you Lucy, Texting Alexia? About algebra exercises?
“I, hm– well” Y/n’s brain short-circuited. “I can explain it?”
Alexia just stared.
Y/n’s mouth opened and closed. “So, technically, I did do my algebra homework.”
Alexia gave her an unimpressed, tired look.
“Like… twenty-five of them to be more exact.”
Silence.
“Which is most of them.” Y/n continued. “So you can’t be mad at me for that.”
“Does Leah know about it?” Alexia asked.
“Yes.”
Silence again
Alexia hummed and picked up her phone from her pocket. “So if I just called her right now and asked–”
“No!” Y/n blurted out, taking the phone from Alexia’s hand, “I mean–why bother her? She’s a busy woman! Euro winner and all, let’s not waste her time with…math.”
Alexia breathed through her nose, shaking her head as she calmed down. Then, the tiniest smirk appeared on her face.
Y/n was scared of what was coming.
“You’re helping clean the training center for a month.”
“No!” Y/n said dramatically.
“Sí
“Ale! Are you serious?”
“I am serious.”
“A whole month?!” Y/n rubbed her hands through her face.
“Sí.”
“Even the locker rooms?”
“Especially the locker rooms, nena”
Y/n groaned and dragged her feet after Alexia.
“Will you tell Leah?” Y/n asked, her voice small, hoping it would make Alexia go softer.
Alexia paused for half a second–just enough to give Y/n hope. But then Alexia turned around, an annoyingly fond look on her face.
“That depends,” Alexia said. “Will you start taking your academic responsibilities more seriously?”
Y/n placed a finger on her chin, looking up. “Hmm…define ‘seriously’ first.”
Alexia sighed, already regretting giving the girl any choice.

It was a bright and early Monday morning. The door to Congressman Barnes’ office opened with a soft click. The familiar rhythm of her heels tapping against the hardwood just enough to pull his tired gaze from the report in front of him.
She came into the room with a drink carrier balancing on top of a short stack of files in her hands. The sight of caffeine this early in the morning was the perfect wake up call. He straightened in his seat.
“You’re a lifesaver,” Bucky muttered, rubbing a hand over his face to wake up. “I was about to start chewing on the corner of this briefing.”
Carefully, Y/n went to lower the stack of files onto the top of his desk. He reached for the larger coffee automatically—until she effortlessly swatted his hand once. And he looked up at her slightly offended.
“That one's mine,” she said casually.
Bucky paused, brow raised. “What? Why do you get the bigger coffee?”
"I paid."
"You used my card." He replied bluntly.
She took a long sip from her cup which left a small red stain behind on the lid. “And the one who does more work gets the bigger caffeine dose. Your card was payment for emotional damage.”
He raised an eyebrow. “What damage?”
“Reading these.” She tapped her finger against the files left on his desk. She picked up the top one and tried to hand it to him, but he wouldn't budge.
Bucky groaned, slouching further in his chair like a teenager faced with summer homework. “I don't want to read them. They’re boring.”
“Tough luck. That's politics,” She dropped the folder on the desk with a satisfying thump.
He reluctantly reached forward to take the file. She briskly walked over to her own, much smaller desk near the front of the room. She missed the way his eyes watched her retreating figure. She came back only a moment later with a planner and pen in hand.
“You’re chairing two committees this week and your proposal’s being dissected in subcommittee," Y/n read from the planner and Bucky groaned again. "I need you awake, briefed, and at least pretending to care.”
He looked up at her, expression dry. “Remind me again why I hired you?”
“Because you were three hours late to your own ethics hearing and I saved your political career with one color-coded binder and a phone call just last month.”
“Right.”
Heading back to her desk again, Y/n sat down and got right to work. She typed emails, made phone calls, rearranged the schedule, and proofread packets for him.
All morning long, Bucky struggled to keep his focus on the packets in front of him often realizing his gaze was transfixed on someone else. She sometimes caught him staring, but he'd just pretend to read the packets again.
Picking up the phone and putting it to her ear, she typed a number and listened to the dial. She waved him down to get his attention.
"Don't forget about your lunch meeting with Henderson," she whispered because she anticipated someone to pick up the phone on the other end.
Bucky’s eyes softened. “You always remember the things I forget.”
“It’s literally in my job description, Congressman." She explained like it was nothing out of the ordinary, glancing at him from around her computer.
She always made the job easier. That was part of the problem.
She was brilliant and capable—keeping him afloat when all the politics threatened to drown him. Yet, every time he got too close, every time he lingered too long or made the mistake of looking at her like he wanted more, she’d pull away.
Professionally. Politely. Firmly.
She'd made herself absolutely, maddeningly off-limits to him.
He could see it in her posture—the steel spine, the strictly platonic smile. She was protecting them both. From rumors. From headlines. From himself quite frankly.
Still, that didn’t stop him from watching her when she wasn’t looking. And it didn't stop him from wanting her.
Tumblr media
Later in the week, his assistant came into his office already talking on the phone with someone and just finishing up the conversation. He had been looking out the window of his office, but her sudden presence made him turn his head.
Watching with slight amusement, Bucky leaned back in his office chair and smiled at her mannerisms. She ended the call and tossed her phone onto her desk. Coming to round the side of his desk, she came to sit on the edge and slid some papers to him.
"Talking points for your meeting with the committee. And the full donor report you were too tired to finish reading last night.” She handed them off.
"So uptight," Bucky commented and Y/n sent him a look of warning. "Technically, I’m the one getting grilled by half of Congress today."
“And who prepped your notes, rewrote your speech, called your driver twice, and reminded you to zip your fly before you walked into the elevator?” Y/n wondered, lifting a perfectly arched brow.
Bucky blinked. “…That last part was a life-saving intervention.”
“Exactly.” She smiled. She held up a pen and pointed to a spot on the paper. "I need you to sign this."
"What are you doing this weekend?" Bucky asked, paying no mind to the form in front of him. "Have any plans?"
A long pause fell between them. She kept her gaze locked on the paper, still waiting for him to take the pen from her and pretending not to hear him.
"We could go out maybe—" Bucky began.
"James..." Y/n tried.
He knew that tone. And she only used his real name when she was dead serious about something.
“I know what it would look like. And you’re right to keep your distance.” Bucky confessed and lowered his gaze solemnly. “I just wish you didn’t have to.”
She felt a small gentle smile growing at the corners of her lips. "I'm flattered you asked."
As she sat perched on the edge of his desk beside him, Bucky spared her a glance. It was a shy and quiet glance; one with a slight hope for a future.
"Sign here," Y/n redirected his attention to the forms again. He reluctantly took the pen. "Focus, please."
So Bucky dutifully signed his name on the forms just like she wanted him to. She collected the papers together, suddenly satisfied and still keeping things professional.
Once she left, Bucky was left to his own thoughts once again. He wanted nothing more than to show his appreciation; for all her hard work, dedication to the job, and the patience she showed with him. The distance was starting to eat at him.
Tumblr media
There was another fundraiser. The ballroom shimmered with low golden light with grand chandeliers casting a soft glow over polished marble floors and D.C.'s best-dressed elite. Bucky had shaken so many hands tonight he was sure he could sketch every cufflink from memory.
But all of it faded the second she walked in.
His breath caught in his throat.
Her dress was nothing flashy—she never went for loud—but it hugged her like a beautiful glove. She wore a deep navy silk that had a slit up one side. Her shoulders bare. Her hair was loosely curled and tumbling over her shoulders—very different from her regular pinned up look.
She didn’t look like his assistant.
He found her near the bar, chatting with a communications rep from another office. She turned just slightly as she sipped from a flute of champagne. Her lipstick looked wonderful in the lighting.
"Congressman,” Y/n acknowledged with a faint smile. She lowered her drink onto the bar that he leaned against.
"You trying to kill me?” Bucky asked with a deadpanned face.
Her face fell. "What?"
"That dress.” Bucky gestured to the dress and looked away just so he wouldn't be caught staring. She glanced down at herself and wondered if something was wrong with it.
"You don't like it?" Y/n wondered. She sounded ever so slightly disappointed.
"I do like it; that's the problem." Bucky confessed. He eased closer to her, so close that he could practically smell the perfume on her neck. "Did I… buy that? My card’s been a little overworked lately.”
She smiled to herself. "No, Bucky. You didn’t pay for this one.”
There was something about the way she said his name—low, teasing, familiar—that made his pulse spike. She only ever used “Congressman” around others in professional settings. Only on a few occasions did she slip up. And it made him feel like maybe she wasn’t entirely immune either.
"You look beautiful tonight," Bucky admitted softly.
Her smile faltered and he wanted nothing more than to make her smile like that again. She averted her gaze and reached for her drink again.
“Don’t,” she begged softly, keeping her voice low so nobody could hear except him. “Not here.”
“Why not here?” Bucky challenged just as gently.
“You know why.” Her tone was still gentle, but firm. She nodded toward the nearby photographers, to the colleagues, the staffers, the political sharks circling with champagne flutes. The wolves were always hungry. “They’re all watching.”
He hated that she was right. He just didn't want to say it.
“So this? You and me?" She motioned to the space between them. "It’s the one thing I can’t let myself have. I’ve worked too hard to be seen as more than someone who just looks good at your side. I do not want to be reduced to the assistant who sleeps with her boss.”
His jaw tightened, but he didn’t look away.
“I’d never let them reduce you like that,” Bucky said, quiet and certain like the way someone speaks a promise.
“I know you wouldn’t,” Y/n nodded. “But you wouldn’t be the one writing the headlines.”
Her gaze lifted to his again, just for a second. Just long enough for him to see that it wasn’t indifference keeping her at a distance—it was the way she cared too much.
And the way she knew better than to trust a world that never once played fair.
Just as she turned to walk away from him, Bucky reached out to grab her wrist so they stood shoulder to shoulder. He didn't look at her, just held her close enough to hear. His cold vibranium fingers digging into the flesh gently.
"At least let me take you home," Bucky knew this was all becoming too much for both of them. “You won’t even have to say anything. Just... let me be the one who gets you home safe.”
Her expression flickered. Not from annoyance. Not resistance. Just hesitation—the kind built on months of boundaries, and months of slowly breaking them.
"Fine." She agreed.
Tumblr media
The drive back to her apartment was silent and so was the elevator ride up to her floor. The two of them stepped out of the elevator together and silently continued walking down the hallway. He loosened his tie because appearances where no longer needed.
Standing in front of her apartment door, Bucky seemed slightly taken back when Y/n hesitated to get her keys out of her bag. Instead, they just stood there together. Neither of them having the courage to look each other in the eye.
The silence between them was thick — full of all the things they couldn’t say in public, and all the things they still couldn’t say here. Not really.
Just when he opened his mouth to say something, she cut him off.
"Whatever you're going to say, please don't say it." Her eyes flicked up to his, looking more pained than anything
“Why not?” He took a step closer, then stopped himself. “It’s late. No one’s watching. Why can't we just say it?”
She exhaled slowly, and when she spoke again, her voice was barely audible. "Because if I told you how I truly felt about you, I wouldn't be able to hold back anymore."
He confessed. “Me neither.”
She tore her eyes away from him, fighting every urge to just cave in and let herself feel something for once.
“I think about it all the time,” Bucky admitted. His words were heavy with restraint. “What it would be like. If we just—”
She closed her eyes. “Don’t finish that sentence.”
“I don’t care about the headlines.”
“I do,” Y/n almost snapped. Then her tone changed softer again: “Because it’s not just your name on the line. It’s mine. And once people start talking… they won’t stop. I’ll be the reason you’re not taken seriously anymore.”
He swallowed hard. “You’re the only reason I am taken seriously.”
That hit her. She blinked, stunned quiet for a second.
He was in front of her before she could breathe, metal hand ghosting just beside her cheek. His other hand trembled near her hip like he didn’t dare touch her—until she didn’t pull away.
“Bucky…” Her voice was warning, pleading, trembling.
“I’m not your boss right now,” Bucky whispered. “I’m just a man who’s tired of pretending I haven't wanted you for longer than I know what to do with.”
And then he kissed her.
Hard. Desperate. Full of every word he wasn’t allowed to say.
She gasped into his mouth, hands flying to his shoulders like they would steady her. He didn’t hesitate; he cupped her face with both hands, mouth slanting over hers.
She kissed him back. God help her, but she did.
Their mouths moved like they’d done this a thousand times in dreams. His hands slipped to her waist, pulling her against him like he couldn’t stand the inch between them. She wrapped her fingers in the front of his shirt, pulling him closer, deeper, needier.
And just when the kiss started to tip into something reckless— She pulled away.
Breathless. Shaken. Flustered.
They stared at each other with chests heaving. Their reality settling back in like cold water. Her fingers still fisted his shirt.
“I told you not to do that,” she whispered, voice broken.
“I know,” Bucky said. “But I’d do it again.”
Very carefully, Bucky leaned forward again with every intention of kissing her and capturing those lips he was already addicted to. However, Y/n quickly placed her hand on the center of his chest to stop him. She shook her head in denial; building up those walls once again to protect them both.
“We shouldn’t…” it pained her to say it—it always did. "At least not tonight."
"Alright," Bucky agreed. "I'll wait for you. As long as it takes. Another 100 years if I have to."
This pulled a soft chuckle from her lips; something that he'd especially grown fond of over the past couple months. She reluctantly pulled out of his grasp and opened the door to her place.
"Goodnight Congressman."
Tumblr media
The dress peeled off like a memory—too expensive, too tight, too tied to a moment she wanted and couldn’t have. It landed in a soft heap on the floor.
She stepped into the shower and let the water run hotter than usual.
The hot steam filled the air. Her forehead pressed against the tile. She told herself it wasn’t emotion—just the weight of the week. The exhaustion. The pressure of playing someone composed when she wanted to fall apart.
She stayed in the shower longer than she needed to.
When she finally stepped out, she wrapped herself in a cotton robe, dried her hair halfheartedly, and climbed into bed for the night. She laid there comfortable, replaying those shared moments together over and over again in her head.
That was until her phone buzzed beside her. The name 'Bucky' showed up on the screen.
She hesitated. Then answered. Putting the phone up to her ear.
“Hey,” Y/n said quietly; her voice softer than it had been all evening.
"I didn't wake you up, did I?" Bucky's husky tone echoed into her ear.
"No," she smiled and tucked her legs under herself.
The line fell silent between them with neither of them willing to say something before the other. She heard the faint rustle of movement on his end. The city humming faintly through his window.
“I just wanted to make sure you got in okay,” Bucky said on the other side.
“You literally dropped me off at my door, Bucky.” Y/n sounded slightly confused.
“I know,” Bucky murmured, probably smiling. “I just… wanted to hear your voice.”
Her breath caught. The silence stretched again. She toyed with the string on her robe, not really sure what to say.
“You looked beautiful tonight,” Bucky added. His voice so gentle it didn’t feel like a compliment—it felt like a confession. She closed her eyes, head bowing.
“Bucky…” she hated all of this.
“I’m sorry,” Bucky said quickly. “I just… I know you’re right. About everything. About how it looks. But when I’m around you, it’s hard to care about any of it.”
She didn’t speak.
“I didn’t call to make it worse,” Bucky added. “I just… I didn’t want the night to end without saying it. That’s all.”
Her hand tightened around the phone. She wanted to say me too. She wanted to say I feel it too. But all she could manage was:
“Goodnight, Bucky.”
A pause.
“Goodnight,” he echoed.
And the call ended.
THIS WAS MY FIRST BUCKY FANFICTION! PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU LIKED IT AND IF YOU'D LIKE MORE LIKE IT.

"I want him dead."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You don't understand, Noelle," Ata's voice hardened, startling Noelle into a barely imperceptible flinch. She had heard Ata's anger many times but had never been on the receiving end of it. As pathetic as it was, she couldn't help but become a little child again, trying to look contrite enough to escape a slap because she had done something as unforgivable as to spill her milk or miss a question on her homework.
"I don't just want him ruined. I want him dead," Atalanta hissed, hands twitching like she was barely restraining them from hitting someone. Had she ever hit someone before? Perhaps in training or a playful punch on the arm between friends, but not real. Never real.
"I-I understand, Ms. Montclair. I will contact him immediately," Noelle hated herself for the momentary tremor in her voice. Pull yourself together. You're not a child.
Noelle left the office without another word, needing to escape Atalanta's oppressive atmosphere. Her eyes momentarily found the small bowl of chocolate truffles on her desk. This week was dark chocolate cappuccino, a particular favorite of hers. She ached to pop one in her mouth, to feel the cloying sweetness and bitter coffee envelop her tongue, but that was for later. She had work to do now.
Noelle pulled out the unmarked cell phone from the locked box under the hidden compartment of her desk. There was only one contact, and unless there was an emergency, he would pick up within the first three rings. Atalanta was a particularly important client; whatever inane business he did whenever Atalanta and Noelle weren't in the room was irrelevant. Atalanta had more than enough money to draw his attention.
"You've reached Zachariah," The smooth, slow voice answered in its mildly amused tone, "How may I help you today?"
Noelle ignored the joking air, "Civilian, living on Maple Street. We need the camera and laptop and we need to make it look like an accident. 5k."
To his credit, Zachariah cut the bullshit, "Send me the information. I can have it done by the end of the week. Do you want them to suffer?"
"Terribly."
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Atalanta put her head on her desk, hands on her knees, and tried in vain to calm down. Poor Darling was distraught; multiple security reports over the last hour have reported her having shut herself up in their room, crying audibly behind the locked door. Noelle had graciously allowed her own precious girlfriend to leave the sanctity of her apartment and go to the penthouse, but it wasn't enough. Atalanta needed to be there.
She grit her teeth, furious. Atalanta had been an important subject of the local paparazzi since her birth but this was different. This was Darling. Atalanta had promised that life with her would be comfortable and luxurious, and now your personal information is leaked. And not just your personal information, your body.
Your lovely body. Only Ata was supposed to behold you, and only in the comfort of your marital bed, but that bastard snuck into your changing room and caught you topless, and then had the gall to send threats, promising to release the photos to the world if not for 100k in unmarked bills. Atalanta ground her perfect teeth.
You were hers.
Hers.
Simply sending a goon to smash his camera and laptop wasn't enough. Plucking out his eyes wasn't enough. Even cutting off his filthy dick wasn't enough.
For the crime of making you cry, he needed to die.
Atalanta tried to calm down and breathe. Zachariah could handle it. He would handle it. She had no doubt about that; the man was a professional. The problem was that Atalanta wanted to... assist. Usually, she preferred to keep her hands clean, to distance herself from whatever boundaries of calamity Zachariah allowed from his men, but your purity was compromised here, your personhood.
Atalanta had seen the white, viscous liquid splattered on the photos of the demand letter. Disgusting.
But Ata knows she doesn't have the stomach for torture, and the death needed to look like something common like a car accident or heart attack. As much as she wanted to carve the Montclair name into his revolting flesh, there were things that mattered more than direct revenge.
You mattered more than that.
Atalanta swept her few things into her bag and called you. You picked up on the second ring, her perfect Darling girl. Your melodious voice might not have been sobbing, but she could sense the hitch in your voice, could hear the way you sniffled pitifully.
"It's all taken care of, my love. It's okay," Atalanta put back on her suit jacket and fixed her hair, "I'm coming home right now. I'll run you a bath and we can order in from that Thai place you like. It's okay."
You must have garbled something about feeling scared.
"I know, sweetheart, I know," Ata cooed, "I'm leaving right now. Hold on for ten more minutes. I'll take care of you. Let me take care of you."
Atalanta marched out of her office, calling orders. As soon as Noelle finished her task and called the car around, she could leave. Any important business that couldn't wait until morning could be emailed.
Bodyguards naturally fell into their flanks as Ata hurried from the building. The driver greeted her but she paid him no mind, and he got the picture. As the car began to move, Atalanta bit her lip, willing time to pass faster. An idea brewing, she texted Noelle to stop by the bakery on 5th before it closes. Three caramelized apple tarts with cinnamon vanilla drizzles, and drop them at the penthouse on the way home.
Don't worry, Darling. Ata's coming. She'll fix it. Don't worry.

𝕤𝕦𝕞𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕪 During a press tour for Hellraiser, Drew and talk show host Y/N form an unexpected connection.

✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮♥✮
The warm buzz of studio lights illuminated the sleek, modern set of the entertainment talk show. Drew Starkey flashing a charming smile at the production assistant who gave him the countdown to go live. He was deep in the whirlwind of press for Hellraiser in which he played Trevor, a character shrouded in mystery and moral ambiguity. Despite the grueling schedule of interviews, Drew had learned to carry his infectious humor and calm charisma into every conversation.
“Three, two, one…and we’re live!” the producer signaled.
The interviewer, Y/N, stepped forward. She was radiant, exuding a blend of professionalism and a unique personal warmth that made her interviews resonate with both her audience and the celebrities she spoke with. Drew couldn’t help but notice how her smile lit up the room.
“Welcome to our show! Today, we have the talented Drew Starkey with us to talk about his latest film, Hellraiser. Drew, thank you for joining us!”
“It’s a pleasure to be here,” he replied, his Southern lilt soft but captivating.
Y/N dove into the interview with ease, asking him questions about his process for preparing for such a psychologically complex role and how he found working with a legendary franchise like Hellraiser. Drew answered thoughtfully, occasionally cracking jokes that had her laughing. He found her laughter infectious.
“So, Trevor is a character who’s…let’s just say, morally gray,” Y/N said, leaning forward. “Did you find it challenging to connect with him?”
Drew paused, his piercing blue eyes locking with hers. “Trevor’s definitely not someone you’d call a role model,” he said with a laugh. “But I think he’s fascinating because he’s so human. He’s flawed, and those flaws are what make him interesting.”
Y/N nodded, impressed. “It sounds like you really dug deep. Were there moments where you found yourself almost sympathizing with him, despite…well, everything?”
“Absolutely,” Drew said, his gaze softening. “I think every character deserves to be understood, even when their actions aren’t right. And maybe I’m a little biased, but I think there’s a part of Trevor that genuinely believed he could fix things, until it all unraveled.”
Y/N leaned back, her expression thoughtful. “It’s always interesting to see actors bring that kind of depth to roles like this. You’ve definitely piqued my interest even more now!”
Drew grinned. “That’s the goal.”
As the interview progressed, Drew felt himself becoming more and more captivated by Y/N. She had an intelligence and kindness that made the conversation flow naturally. There was a twinkle in her eye whenever she teased him, and Drew found himself leaning into their banter.
At one point, when Y/N asked him about the practical effects used in the film, Drew leaned in, smirking. “You sound like you’ve been doing your homework. Big Hellraiser fan?”
She laughed, pretending to be offended. “Are you suggesting I didn’t know about Hellraiser before this interview?”
Drew chuckled. “Not at all. But now I’m wondering, are you more of a Cenobite fan or Team Trevor?”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, playing along. “Team Trevor? Hmm. I think I need to see the movie first before I pledge my allegiance.”
“Fair enough,” Drew replied. “But I’ll hold you to that.”
As the interview wrapped up, Y/N thanked Drew for his time. “This has been such a fun conversation,” she said genuinely.
“Likewise,” Drew said. And before he knew it, he blurted, “Hey, uh…do you usually do these interviews, or was this a one time thing?”
Y/N tilted her head, a hint of curiosity in her smile. “I host the show, so I do this often. Why do you ask?”
Drew scratched the back of his neck, uncharacteristically nervous. “Oh, just wondering. You’re really good at this, that’s all.”
“Thank you,” she said warmly.
Before he left the studio, Drew caught her in the hallway. “Y/N,” he said, stopping her gently. “I know this might be weird since we just met, but would you maybe want to grab coffee sometime? Totally casual.”
Y/N blinked, momentarily surprised. Then her lips curved into a smile. “Totally casual?” she teased.
Drew chuckled. “Well, I’d settle for coffee, but if you’d rather get dinner, I wouldn’t complain.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “You know what? Why not? I’d love to.”
As Drew walked away, his heart felt lighter than it had in weeks. Press tours could be exhausting, but every so often, they brought something unexpected, like meeting someone who made you feel like a character in a story worth telling.
The days following their brief hallway encounter played out like a whirlwind for Drew, who was consumed by interviews, fan events, and late night talk show appearances. But amidst the chaos, one thought kept him grounded, his upcoming coffee date with Y/N. He hadn’t felt this level of nervous anticipation in a long time, and it was both exhilarating and terrifying.
For Y/N, her own schedule wasn’t any less hectic. Between prepping for future interviews and managing the behind the scenes chaos of her show, she found herself replaying snippets of her conversation with Drew in her mind. There was something about his genuine nature, the way he didn’t take himself too seriously, that intrigued her.
The day of their coffee meet up, Drew arrived early at a cozy cafe tucked into a quiet street corner. The smell of fresh pastries and espresso filled the air, and Drew ordered two lattes to keep himself busy. His usual cool demeanor was slightly offset by the way he kept glancing toward the door.
When Y/N walked in, her presence immediately lit up the room. Dressed casually but effortlessly stylish, she smiled when she spotted him waving her over.
“Hey,” she said as she approached the table. “You didn’t have to order for me, but I appreciate it.”
“Figured I’d take a gamble,” Drew said, sliding the latte toward her. “If you hate it, I’ll drink it and get you something else. Full service.”
She laughed, taking a seat. “Luckily for you, this is perfect.”
The conversation picked up right where they’d left off during the interview, flowing naturally as they talked about everything from their favorite movies to embarrassing audition stories. Drew opened up about the quirks of filming Hellraiser and how the dark themes sometimes left him mentally drained.
Y/N shared stories from her career, admitting that interviewing celebrities wasn’t always glamorous, especially when some arrived moody or overly guarded. “But you,” she said, smirking, “are definitely one of the better ones.”
“High praise,” Drew said with a grin. “I’ll try not to let it go to my head.”
As the hours ticked by, Drew felt the initial nerves dissolve into something far more comfortable. He found himself studying the way Y/N laughed, how her eyes lit up when she talked about things she was passionate about.
“So,” she said, leaning back in her chair, “what’s next for you? Are you diving into another project right away?”
“I’ve got a couple of things lined up,” he said. “But nothing set in stone yet. Honestly, it’s nice to just…breathe for a second. What about you? Any big interviews coming up?”
She chuckled. “A few. But I think this one might be hard to top.”
Drew raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Was it the latte? Or my winning personality?”
“Let’s call it a combination,” she teased.
By the time they finished their coffee, neither wanted to leave. Drew hesitated for a moment before asking, “This was really great. Would you want to do it again? Maybe dinner next time?”
Y/N tilted her head, a playful smile tugging at her lips. “Are you asking me out, Mr. Starkey?”
He laughed, leaning forward slightly. “I think I am. Is that okay?”
“It’s more than okay,” she said softly.
As their dates became more frequent, the chemistry between Drew and Y/N grew impossible to ignore. Dinner at a quaint Italian bistro turned into an after-hours walk through the city streets, the glow of streetlights illuminating their path. Drew found himself gravitating closer to her, their arms brushing with every step.
“You know,” Y/N said, glancing up at him, “this feels kind of surreal. I usually keep my personal life pretty…private.”
Drew stopped walking, gently catching her hand to pull her into a quiet alcove away from the crowd. The faint hum of the city was their only audience. “Do you want to keep this private?” he asked, his voice low but steady.
She searched his face, her heart racing. “I don’t know. I guess I’m just not used to this kind of attention.”
Drew smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I get that. But for what it’s worth, I’d fight to keep this, whatever this is, away from all the noise. You’re worth it.”
Y/N felt her breath hitch as his hand lingered near her cheek. Drew’s eyes, a mesmerizing shade of blue under the streetlights, searched hers as if seeking permission. Without thinking, she stepped closer, their faces mere inches apart.
“Drew…” she began, but before she could finish, his lips brushed against hers, tentative at first, as if testing the waters.
The kiss deepened almost instantly, the world around them melting away. Drew’s hand slid to the small of her back, pulling her closer as her fingers tangled in his hair. The warmth of his touch sent sparks through her, and she couldn’t help but smile against his lips.
When they finally broke apart, both slightly breathless, Drew let out a soft chuckle. “I’ve been wanting to do that since the interview,” he admitted, his forehead resting against hers.
“Really?” Y/N asked, teasing. “Because I thought you were playing it cool back then.”
“Oh, I was trying,” Drew said, his grin widening. “But you made it impossible.”
Their shared laughter echoed softly in the night, and Drew laced his fingers with hers as they continued their walk. The lingering electricity between them made every glance, every accidental touch, feel loaded with anticipation.
Later that night, as they stood outside Y/N’s apartment, Drew hesitated. “I don’t want to push,” he said, his voice sincere. “But I also don’t really want to say goodbye just yet.”
Y/N bit her lip, her cheeks flushing. “Then don’t.”
Drew followed her inside, and the moment the door closed, the restraint they’d shown earlier dissolved. He pressed her gently against the wall, his hands framing her face as their lips collided in a heated kiss. The room filled with the quiet sounds of their shared passion, her hands gripping the lapels of his jacket as he trailed kisses along her jawline.
Drew’s heart hammered in his chest as he took in the sight of her. Her eyes sparkled with a fiery desire that mirrored his own. He couldn’t believe this was happening. They’d danced around their feelings for what felt like an eternity, and now they were finally giving in to the magnetic pull that had drawn them together.
Her scent was intoxicating, a blend of sweet vanilla and a hint of something spicy that made him want to devour her whole. His hands slid down from her face to the curve of her neck, his thumbs tracing the delicate line of her collarbone as they kissed with a hunger that seemed insatiable.
Her breath was hot against his skin as she whispered his name, sending a shiver down his spine. He responded by deepening the kiss, his tongue exploring the warm cavern of her mouth as her own danced with his. The world outside the room ceased to exist; all that mattered was the feel of her body pressed against his, the taste of her, the sound of her moaning softly in response to his touch.
With a growl of desire, Drew lifted her up, her legs wrapping around his waist as he carried her to the bed. He laid her down gently, breaking the kiss only long enough to remove his jacket and shirt. She sat up, eager to help, her nimble fingers working on the buttons of his pants. "Take these off," she demanded, her voice low and sultry. "I need you. Now."
Their clothes fell away in a tangle of fabric, revealing the raw beauty of their entwined limbs. Drew's muscles rippled in the dim light, and she couldn't help but admire him. He paused for a moment to appreciate the view of her lying before him, her chest heaving with anticipation. The air was thick with tension, charged with the electricity of their desire.
Her hands roamed over his bare chest, feeling the rapid beating of his heart beneath her fingertips. He kissed her again, harder this time, as if trying to claim every inch of her. Their bodies rolled together on the bed, a tapestry of limbs and passion. He could feel the heat emanating from her, and it fueled his own need.
Their kisses grew more feverish, their breaths mingling in a rhythm that matched the pounding of their hearts. Drew's hand slipped down to her thigh, his touch feather light as he moved it higher. She gasped into his mouth when his fingers reached the apex of her legs, finding her already wet and ready. He teased her gently, making her squirm with pleasure.
Her hips bucked against his hand as he touched her more insistently, her nails digging into his back. He could feel her body tightening, her muscles coiling like a spring ready to release. She whispered his name again, a plea that he understood all too well. He positioned himself between her legs, their gazes locked, and pushed into her with a slow, deliberate thrust that sent waves of pleasure crashing through her body.
Their movements grew more urgent, their breaths ragged and intermingling as they found a rhythm that seemed to echo the very beating of their hearts. Drew’s muscles flexed with each powerful stroke, his eyes never leaving hers as he claimed her over and over. She wrapped her legs around him, pulling him deeper, her heels digging into his lower back. The friction was exquisite, the sensation of him filling her completely driving her to the brink of ecstasy.
Her breath hitched in her throat as she felt the first tremors of her climax begin to build. "Drew," she gasped, her voice a desperate whimper. "I’m going to come." He groaned in response, his own release just within reach. He increased his pace, driving into her harder and faster, his thumb circling her clit in time with his thrusts. The pressure grew, a delicious ache that coiled tighter with each movement.
With a cry that was half moan, half scream, she shattered, her body arching off the bed as the most intense orgasm of her life ripped through her. Drew followed closely behind, his own release a hot wave that flooded her core. They clung to each other, their bodies trembling in the aftermath of their shared passion. For a moment, time itself seemed to stand still, the only sounds in the room their panting breaths and the beating of their hearts.
As the intensity of their climax subsided, she rolled them over so that she was on top, straddling his waist. She looked down at him with a mischievous smile, her eyes gleaming with unbridled lust. "Let me ride you," she said, her voice still thick with passion. Drew's eyes widened slightly, his cock already showing signs of renewed interest at the thought. He nodded eagerly, his hands moving to her hips to help position her.
With a graceful move, she lowered herself onto him, her slick heat enveloping his hardness. He groaned, his hands gripping her hips as she began to move, her movements slow and deliberate. She set the pace, rising and falling on him like a wave, her breasts bouncing with each downward stroke. Drew watched, his eyes glued to the erotic sight of her above him, her hair cascading down her back as she took charge of their lovemaking.
He could feel himself hardening again, his body responding to the delicious friction and the visual feast before him. "Ride me, baby," he encouraged, his voice a gruff whisper. She took his words as a challenge, picking up the pace and leaning forward to grind against him. The sensation was almost too much to handle; the angle was perfect, and every movement sent bolts of pleasure shooting through him.
Their bodies moved in perfect harmony, a dance of passion that neither of them wanted to end. She leaned down, capturing his mouth in a searing kiss as she rode him, their tongues dueling with the same fervor as their hips. Drew's hands roamed her back, his fingertips tracing the path of her spine as she moved. He could feel himself getting closer to the edge again, the pressure building in his lower abdomen.
"Like this?" Her breasts bobbed in his face, and he couldn't resist the temptation. He took one of her nipples into his mouth, sucking and nipping at it gently as he whispered "Just like that baby". She gasped, her movements faltering for a moment before she regained control, pushing down harder on him. The sensation was exquisite, and he knew she was feeling it too, her walls clenching around him with each thrust.
Their rhythm grew more erratic, their kisses more desperate. Drew's hands slid to her ass, his fingers digging into the soft flesh as he met her hips with his own, pushing up into her as she came down. He could feel his orgasm building, the pressure reaching a crescendo. "I'm gonna come," he warned her, his voice strained. She responded by quickening her pace, her breaths coming in short, sharp gasps.
With one final, powerful thrust, Drew erupted, filling her with his warmth. She threw her head back and screamed his name, her own orgasm cresting over her like a tidal wave. They held onto each other, their bodies shaking, as the last tremors of pleasure subsided. They collapsed together, their limbs tangled and their hearts racing in time with each other's.
Their breaths grew steadier as the reality of what had just happened settled over them. They shared a smile, a silent acknowledgment of the connection that had just been forged between them. It was a moment of pure, unfiltered intimacy that neither of them would ever forget.
They lay there, basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking, their skin slick with sweat. Her head rested on his chest, and she could feel the steady thump of his heart beneath her ear. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, and she felt a sense of belonging that she hadn't felt in a very long time.
For now, the world outside the room didn't matter. All that mattered was the warmth of his embrace, the sound of their mingled breaths, and the promise of more passionate moments to come. They had crossed a line tonight, but it was one that neither of them regretted. Instead, it was a line that had brought them closer together, forging a bond that was stronger than any they had ever known.
And as they lay there, entwined in each other's arms, they both knew that this was just the beginning of something beautiful. Something that had been a long time in the making and was now, finally, allowed to flourish without restraint. Their bodies were sated, but their minds were racing with the endless possibilities of what lay ahead.
Drew gently stroked her hair, feeling the softness against his fingertips. "That was amazing," he murmured, his voice filled with awe. She smiled against his chest, feeling his heartbeat slow to a more relaxed tempo. "It was," she agreed, her voice a contented purr.
They stayed like that for a while longer, their limbs tangled and their hearts still beating in a passion induced symphony. Eventually, she lifted her head to look at him, her eyes filled with a love that was new and exciting. "I've wanted this for so long," she admitted, her voice soft.
He leaned in to kiss her forehead, his eyes searching hers. "Me too," he confessed, his thumb caressing her cheek. "But it was worth the wait." She nodded, her eyes shining with happiness. They shared a tender kiss, one that spoke of the deep connection that had been forged between them.
The room was bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, casting flickering shadows across their naked forms. They were lost in their own little world, a sanctuary where only passion and love reigned supreme. And as they held each other close, they knew that no matter what challenges they faced, they would always have this moment.
Their bodies were still entwined, but their minds had already moved on to the next phase of exploration. They were eager to learn every inch of each other, to know what made the other gasp and moan with pleasure. Drew rolled them over so she was beneath him again, his cock already hardening with renewed desire.
He kissed her deeply, his hands roaming over her body, reacquainting themselves with her curves and valleys. She responded eagerly, her legs parting to welcome him back into her. He slid in easily, their bodies fitting together like two puzzle pieces that had been separated for far too long.
Their movements grew slower, more deliberate, as if they were savoring every moment of this newfound intimacy. They kissed and touched, exploring each other with a gentle reverence that spoke of a deep, abiding love. This was more than just sex; it was the culmination of a connection that had been growing between them for months.
As they made love again, their bodies moving in a silent symphony of passion, they both knew that nothing could ever be the same between them. They had crossed a line, and there was no going back. But in that moment, as they climbed the peaks of ecstasy together, they wouldn't have had it any other way. This was where they belonged, in each other's arms, sharing the most intimate and beautiful experience two people could share.
And as they lay there, basking in the warmth of their love, they promised each other that this was just the first of many such nights. They had a lifetime of passion to explore, and they were ready to embrace it all. They were ready to let go of the past and hold onto each other, come what may.
Their kiss grew more urgent as the room grew darker, the candles flickering out one by one. But the flame of their desire burned brightly, a beacon in the night that would never be extinguished. They had found something rare and precious, and they weren't about to let it go.
With each stroke, each caress, they sealed their fate together, binding their hearts and souls in a way that would last an eternity. And as they drifted off to sleep, tangled in the sheets and each other's embrace, they knew that they had discovered something that could never be taken away from them: a love that was truly unbreakable.
“Are you always this charming?” she teased between kisses, her voice breathy.
Drew smirked against her skin. “Only with you.”
The night stretched on, the boundaries between them blurring as they lost themselves in one another. Drew was equal parts tender and fervent, his touch both grounding and electrifying. For Y/N, it felt like stepping into a dream she never wanted to wake from, a perfect mix of passion and connection.
By the time the sun began to rise, they lay tangled together on her bed, Drew’s arm draped over her waist as he traced lazy patterns on her skin. “You realize this is probably going to make headlines, right?” Y/N murmured, her voice laced with both humor and contentment.
Drew chuckled, pressing a kiss to her temple. “Let them talk. I’m exactly where I want to be.”
And for the first time in a long time, so was she.

Summary: Rollo with an opposite kind of unhinged partner who always says the most out of pocket things out of nowhere when they are alone and no one believes that they actually like each other.
Warnings:obviously English isn’t my first language plus I posted this the moment I finished it, reader is gn, reader is INSECURE, very self inserty, Rollo is decent at comforting, small injury, reader says out of pocket shit because it’s funny. Tell me to add anything if I forgot :P
Words:1.2K
Tumblr media
Rollo groans as he wakes up from his sleep to start another day at school, he takes his phone to turn off the alarm and sees a message from his partner.
”I want to get you pregnant”
Rollo just sighed and didn’t open the message and went to the bathroom. As he was making himself coffee a specific ringtone erupted his peace, he answered the call and didn’t say anything waiting for the next surprise.
”about the preg-“
”Please seek professional help”
beep.
it’s too early for him to deal with this, he hears giggling from behind his door. Smiling to himself only, he sighed, hid his smile and opened the door with a frown only his partner would see right through, and that partner is smiling like an idiot. He had to fight the urge to smile back, he doesn’t want to encourage her behavior even if he doesn’t mind it that much.
”hey baby girl” “don’t call me that”
He smiled very slightly as he looked at them. How can someone who claims to be lazy have so much energy very early in the morning? Unless… Rollo’s smile disappeared and he crossed his arms with his head held high.
”You didn’t sleep didn’t you?” His partner flinched and looked anywhere but Rollo’s eyes, swinging side to side “whaatt? Of course I did- no I didn’t” one look at Rollo's eyes made them tell the truth, they already knew that lying won’t get them anywhere with Rollo. Especially with his very unconvinced face.
”buutt the new character was about to be released” they whined as they explained themselves, knowing at it wouldn’t change anything but trying won’t hurt “you know how long I have waited for it-“ Rollo raised his hand, noticing his partner’s worry “I’m not mad, I just don’t want you to tell behind on your studies.” He said it as a fact, not afraid to somewhat show his worry.
They looked at him for a moment before smiling, knowing even when he said he wouldn’t, he would lap them even when they didn't help themselves. They hold his arm, almost spilling his coffee with how much force they hold him. He walked around the school doing his work while his partner walked close by, his assistants joked about them being a package deal.
After classes at the student council room, Rollo was doing his work while his partner was (forcefully by Rollo) doing their homework. Saying that he's around he can help them instead of them calling in the middle of the night to help with a simple math question.
He looked to the side as he noticed the sound of pen writing had stopped for a while, he saw his partner looking down in deep thought. Not in the “if I used that weapon one that character” kind of thought but something must have happened to leave them with such expression, kind of thought.
He called their name multiple times, raising his voice every time until they answered him “what are you so in deep thought about?” He looked at them in the eyes, in a way trying to tell them there is no way of getting out of this.
They stayed silent for a moment, just looking at Rollo’s eyes. As if begging him not to open that can of worms, Rollo’s eyes didn’t give them a chance to escape, equally begging them to open up.
”have you.. heard what everyone has been saying?” Rollo frowned, he was confused. This is not something they usually worry about, they always told him not to care what others say especially when it comes to their relationship. It seems to be a sensitive topic for them, from their actions. Avoiding eye contact, stuttering, heavy breathing and biting their nails. So he tried to be patient.
”No, I have not.” He’s too busy to know or care about what anyone thinks about him or his partner. “Care to tell me?” He slowly holds their hand, to stop them from hurting themselves. Which was a little late. Their fingertips are already bleeding, he sighs and opens one of his drawers, taking out bandages and helping them.
They hissed, not enjoying their current situation. “They say I don’t deserve you” they looked away, feeling ashamed to even entertain the thought “they think you are with me because you pity me or that I’m annoying you” Rollo listened to them without interrupting, wanting to hear everything from them before speaking his thoughts. “Am I.. Too much?”.
He stopped for a second to process their question, “what do you mean?” He looked them in the eyes after finishing putting on the bandage, trying to figure them out. “You know like.. Too much to handle? Annoying and insufferable.. A nuisance?” They kept their eyes away from his, the shame killing them inside out.
Rollo knew how insecure his partner can be, but it surprised him it reached their relationship. He didn’t even give himself to think and answered them.
“no, I don’t think of you this lowly” He awkwardly tried to comfort them by holding their hand with both of his, looking around just as awkwardly to try and find his words. “If I did, I wouldn’t be here with you, right?” He’s trying his best and he knows his partner understands, to them that he’s trying is more than enough but they kept silent.
He raised his hand, to emphasize his point. “Just because you would, doesn’t mean I would” He smiled, a barely noticeable one as they laughed. They know it’s true, they didn’t have the best relationships with almost anyone in their life so they assume that everyone is like them, it’s nice to be reminded that it’s not normal.
”May I ask, from whom did you hear it?” Rollo said as he went back to do his work, wanting to get to the bottom of this situation. “Oh, will usually when we are walking or just sitting alone I tend to hear people talk” “oh so your hearing decides to be good when it’s people bad mouthing you?” At that they laughed loudly, holding their mouth to keep it down.
”I can’t even disagree on that..” They looked down and smiled a small one “I’m sorry, really. It’s just they came at the worst time” they smiled apologetically, looking at Rollo  begging for forgiveness. Even though he wasn't mad to begin with “don’t worry about it,just like how you handled my worst, I’m here for yours.”
Their smile turned warm, putting their head on Rollo’s shoulder “Thank you, truly” they closed their eyes and sighed. “No problem” he smiled, knowing they can’t see it.
”so, about the preg-“ “sigh…”
….
“Did you take the pic??” “Yeah!” Two students peaked through the door, they chuckled and left the two love birds on their own. “They owe us so much money!” “Thought that was to stop the rumors so it would stop upsetting them?” “Oh yeah that too!”

[CN] Official Guidebook (Vol. 2): Interview with Minor
Tumblr media
Character Details:
Your former deskmate in high school.
Gavin's faithful pal.
Since high school, he has the skills of being a mouthpiece and providing divine assistance.
Currently your employee.
Q1: I heard that Officer Gavin is often invited to join the company's programmes. Are you able to share anything about this?
Minor: Yeah, we often invite Bro Gavin. Although he's always busy with missions and isn't willing to appear on screen, if Boss invites him personally, he will still take the time to participate. Sometimes, he even does homework prior to the programme. He's so diligent!
Since he's worried about disturbing our Boss at work, he goes through the work flow with me instead.
Here's a secret - don't be deceived by their professionalism during the filming process. If you observe them carefully, you will discover that... their eyes are communicating!
With a single glance from Boss, Bro Gavin will immediately understand what to do. Whenever filming ends, the two of them will disappear before everyone else and enjoy their world for two. They have great chemistry when working together!
Tumblr media
Q2: Over the years, did you notice any changes in them?
Minor: In terms of changes, I'd say that Bro Gavin is getting smoother and smoother... Princess carries, hugging by the waist, the first cup of milk tea in autumn, the first lipstick in spring, taking photos when eating, giving a report before heading out... When selecting gifts, he no longer needs me to search for tips on the internet. Except for our Boss, no one else in the world can make him care this much...
Sigh, it's been like this since school. I'm used to it, and I choose to wish them the best with all my might.
Tumblr media
Q3: What have you done the most for those two people?
Minor: I assisted them, of course. I delivered a letter for Bro Gavin, risked my life for Boss, including but not limited to being Bro Gavin's chief spy and inquiring about Boss' daily key happenings and interests! I'm also an informant when it comes to sending Bro Gavin details of new milk tea shops and all sorts of romantic strategies.
I "willingly" work overtime so that they can have more time in their world for two... Of course, Boss pays my overtime salary.
Tumblr media
Q4: As Officer Gavin's most loyal follower, can you use one word to describe his attitude on emotions?
Minor: How can one word be enough? Affectionate, devoted, tolerant, considerate, serious, reliable... With so many merits, wouldn't you agree that our Boss has great taste?
Tumblr media
Q5: Is there anything you want to say to them?
Minor: Willow and I created the Bro Gavin x Boss Ship Support Group! Given my contributions, I'm worthy of being a captain! In the future, this support group will definitely grow stronger each day.
I also hope that Bro Gavin can protect himself better during missions, and have fewer injuries. There are people supporting you and waiting for you. I'm not saying this just for myself, but more so for the person who looks forward to your safe return the most.

Transposition In The Universe no.7
(Sorry this late update everyone! I'm trying to finished my homework and getting tired as soon as I start. Writing fanfics got me in a chokehold so typing up my homework got boring real quick)
(Please enjoy this chapter!)
G.U.N. knows that they could dispose of any out-of-line agent if they so like, they don’t even have to lift a finger for it. But it’s weird they have kept Agent Robotnik around for this long. The man, to say the least, is insufferable and always drive someone to the brink of an outrageous burst, only to back out the very last second. Agent Robotnik is always keeping them on their toes. That was the situation for the higher-ups.
For his peers, however, Robotnik acts as if he has a higher position than them; constantly berating, degrading, insulting, and attempting every form of verbal abuse possible to instill fear into all the agents around him. The Agent in question refers to that type of verbal abuse as “lecturing” his colleagues on their incompetence.
That was all he does, no physical abuse or harassment, never nothing too far. Agent Robotnik is teasing them, everyone at G.U.N. knew that, toeing on the line of professionalism, threatening to cross it but retreats the moment they are about to take action. Every time Robotnik toy with the organization, he seems to laugh at them after it all, testing their patience to remove him from the job completely.
As an attempt to regulate the verbal abuse, Agent Robotnik has been assigned to Dr. Stone of in the Innovation sector, sent to assist the Doctor in his work for a month. G.U.N. knew that though neither of the men had much in common, due to the way they work, surely both could contribute to the way each of them act in public spaces, keep their behavior and speech more tamed. At first it had seemed like a good idea, both the Agent and Doctor were more cooperative, more reserved during the few first weeks, but that changed quickly.
Now, a full year later, Robotnik has returned to his usual routine of berating his colleagues. Dr. Stone has, as well, returned to ignoring human interaction, staying cooped up in his lab for weeks on end, but the Agent is always seen with him, going out of his way to bring drinks and foods to the Doctor.
G.U.N., though disappointed that their efforts were for naught, at least Agent Robotnik and Dr. Stone are still keeping one another in line.
Dr. Stone has long since noticed how Robotnik acted around other agents. After all, he’s been keeping a close eye on the Agent ever since his name starts being more well-known around the organization. The experience working with him proofed to be vastly different, though, as he kept himself from crossing the line of professionalism around the Doctor.
A year passed, and as they got more acquainted (or friendlier, whichever term you prefer), his behavior and speech returning to its original extreme.
Dr. Stone has only heard him “scolding” or “lecturing” his colleagues whenever he passes by the break room, which isn’t often as he still needs to finish all the boring assignments. Despite that, he still watches from time to time on the hidden camera he placed there. He never got to stay around for long as impending deadlines and several nuisances of assignments plagued his mind.
Dr. Stone hopes to hear the berating in person. Dr. Stone hopes to hear the words spoken directly by Agent Robotnik as he watches the fear boil over in the agents as Robotnik’s wrath becomes more extreme.
~
Dr. Stone is currently walking around the main building, making his own rounds of inspection, noting the little changes in décor or placement of furniture, just in case he needs to do something drastic that requires direct impact to the people in the main building.
As he finishes up his inspection, Dr. Stone perks up at the increase in volume as he approaches the break room. It sounds like Agent Robotnik was shouting at the other agents again. Nothing out of the ordinary, really, but it’s the first time the Doctor is hearing it in person after a long while.
Robotnik’s voice sounds much more aggressive in person, his tone clearly demanding respect as endless waves of insults – all true to some degree – comes pouring out like a waterfall. Upon sending his one of his mini-litho (he indulges in calling them “pebbles” from time to time, but never in the presence of any human) to further inspect the scene.
Three agents, none of them Dr. Stone knew the name of, cowering near the table which the coffee machine is placed while Robotnik towers over them, his expression hard and filled with rage. None of the agents seem older than Robotnik, all of them perhaps around their 30s. Dr. Stone is around their age anyways, though he doesn’t understand why they have to be so frightened of Robotnik. But perhaps because he has a much higher position and clearance than the agents, he supposed he will never understand what it is like to be disregarded despite his potentials.
Unaware he was tuning out everything that is happening, Dr. Stone snaps back into reality when the mini-litho’s inaudible beeping noise is registered. The Doctor pockets the little machine, deciding to step out of his hiding spot behind the wall and drag Robotnik back to work.
His footsteps are quiet, barely a sound is made and his presence goes unnoticed by Robotnik and the other agent. Robotnik’s insults engrossed whoever came in contact with him, everything else becomes a blur as they count each offending word that falls between his lips.
Dr. Stone, watching unamused as Robotnik calls one of them “a waste of air” and gesture wildly around to get his point through, thinks about how that was the least insulting thing amongst everything he’s said. Whoever that was directed to must be lucky. “Agent,” Dr. Stone said, his voice like a whisper amongst the shouting as he demands his Agent’s full attention.
Fortunately for Robotnik’s keen ears, he picked up the sound almost immediately, whipping his head around fast enough to cause whiplash as he flashes a blinding smile at the Doctor.
“Doctor!” Robotnik exclaimed as he walks over to Dr. Stone’s side, each step highlighted with a little bounce. Dr. Stone merely nods, taking note of the agents’ expression after a sweep of an eye.
They are shocked, to put it simply. Their mouths slack and shoulders slowly easing as one of them whispers something to another. Uninterested in what they have to say, Dr. Stone leaves the break room and eventually the building, an almost giddy Robotnik trailing his steps.
Dr. Stone takes mental note of how happy Robotnik is to be around him. Most times, people would only come in contact with him because they had business regarding contracts, machine inspection or assignments and deadlines.
It’s very strange that Robotnik acts the way he does, Dr. Stone muses. A feeling close to satisfaction creeps up the Doctor’s spine, making him question various other things about himself, Robotnik and their relationship.
Purely professional, Dr. Stone convinces himself without effort. No other feelings need to be involve, all besides the friendliness they have already established.
Though Dr. Stone will never admit it verbally, he really likes having Robotnik around; having another warm-blooded creature with emotions and thoughts roaming the lab, assisting him in his work and going of its way to make sure he was in the perfect health condition to be working is nice.
Dr. Stone appreciates the fact that Agent Robotnik exists. Even with his antics and eccentric behavior, it helps Dr. Stone deal with the monotony.
~
Standing outside of the main building, Dr. Stone and Agent Robotnik wait for the arrival of a client. The client had given them a heads-up, wanting to pick up the device themselves as it gives them more opportunity to talk to the Doctor and get further information.
Dr. Stone had denied at first, stating through a short email that he was a busy man and has no time to spare for such interaction. However, the Commander suggested it would be beneficial for both the client and himself – first being that the client would be able to observe and examine the device up-close, not only that but also have the Doctor nearby to ask questions; for Dr. Stone… it’s just so he would get out more and interact with other people.
The Doctor doesn’t know how he got roped into all this mess, but he is here now and there’s no turning back. The client was positively 5 minutes late; being late to a meeting that has been scheduled a day prior was not something Dr. Stone would put up with, and if that client doesn’t get his sorry ass here the next 5 minutes, Dr. Stone would be returning to the lab.
Agent Robotnik has not spoken a word since they got here, clearly he’s getting better at reading the Doctor’s mood; seeing him in a mood like this and even dare to try and cheer him up is a mistake every imbecilic agent has done at G.U.N.
“Hawk tuah!” Dr. Stone heard Robotnik saying. Though saying wouldn’t exactly be the correct form, more like exclaiming.
Dr. Stone has never understood the purpose of exclaiming “hawk tuah” whenever someone decides to spit, but it didn’t seem the Agent was doing that. It was rather he got tired of the silence and decided to do something about it.
As much as the effort was acknowledging, the Doctor does not appreciate that. Without so much as turning to talk to his Agent, Dr. Stone glares to his side, eyes focusing on Robotnik like a sniper on its target.
“Agent, shut the fuck up.” Dr. Stone said, not too quickly but enough to emphasize his point.
Agent Robotnik straightens and fixes his mustache a bit, both arms falling back to his sides. “Sorry,” he replied, meaning it.
They didn’t say anything later on, and as five minutes passes with the clouds, Dr. Stone returns to the lab with the client’s device in hand, instructing Robotnik that he should inform the Commander on their early leave and the client’s incompetence to arrive on time.
Dr. Stone still appreciates Agent Robotnik, but if he can keep his antics a bit more under control then that would be a lot less bothersome.
