• The Pyramid head knows little about your problem and about human physiology in principle, so you will have to explain some points to him.

• He sees that you feel bad, and that's enough to sharpen his protective instincts. His rough hand finds your waist whenever you feel unwell, and he just lets you lean on him and catch your breath.

• Over time, Pyra will learn certain words or behavioral changes that happen to you before fainting or feeling unwell. Pyra will catch you with deliberate skill, immediately carefully laying you on the nearest flat surface. He will sit next to you and protect you from the monsters of the city until you feel better. Like a huge protective dog.

• Or he will gently pick you up in his arms, making sure that you are comfortable and feel free enough in his grip, and will carry you back to your 'home' where you spent most of your time. It may be some kind of partially destroyed house or even a bar. The main thing is that you feel as safe as possible.

• His touch is rough, but at the same time soft and deliberate, and your height and size difference is almost comical. But that doesn't stop him from treating you like a treasure and constantly protecting you.

• It's not that there is luxury in the foggy city in the form of coffee or sweets to quickly bring your well-being back to normal, but Pyra will try to find something. Some green tea bags or sweets left over from the last unfortunate victims he killed not so long ago.

• He will try to find a house for you that still has water. Hot water. He will make you a hot bath so that you can take a relaxing shower and feel better. Hot water warms up and speeds up your blood flow, so why not. All this time, he will stand at the bathroom door like a big watchdog and make sure that no one bothers you.

• Whenever you feel unwell or on the verge of fainting, Pyramid head gently pulls you to her chest. You just lie in his arms with your eyes closed and listen to the soothing growl and rumble in his chest as he tries to calm you down in his own 'language'.

• Insists that you sleep when you feel unwell. He'll bring you all the clean blankets and pillows he can find in the building or in the whole city. He will also leave the window to the room open so that the slight coolness improves your well-being.

• Despite his intimidating appearance, Pyramid head is incredibly loyal and will do everything in his power to protect you and give you the maximum possible comfort.

• At first, when he didn't quite understand what was going on, and you were losing consciousness, he fell into real perplexity. His hand gently but firmly gripped your head, lightly massaging your temples, and rocked your head from side to side and stroked it like some kind of egg. He really wasn't used to any kind of affection, so he didn't know what to do.

• This action is still a certain kind of habit, only now he just hugs you to him and strokes your hair. He fucking loves it. Your hair is so soft and pleasant to the touch. He hopes it makes you feel better.

February 19, 2024 Daily Writing Challenge Day 2 Suppress/Pastel

Pyraelia frowned a bit as she considered the final piece of the care package puzzle. 

It had been easy enough to fill little airtight containers with hot broth, pork belly, cooked noodles, chili crisp and various toppings from the ramen cart Aerden liked in Silvermoon. Her delicate scrawl covered the outside of them, an enchantment she’d crafted herself locked the internal contents in time at the moment the lids had closed. When opened again it would be like no time had passed at all. 

She’d been clever enough to patent that spell, and wise enough to market it to the Horde military as a crucial, “inexpensive” component of keeping the troops fed. They’d bought in, and luckily, so had the Alliance military — alongside many other individual shipping companies. It was nice to not need the Sunmote inheritance, and her pride swelled a little as she taped pretty, iridescent paper around that part of the package to keep it safe and together. 

Next up had been another container full of two dozen “kitchen sink” cookies — the kind they’d occasionally gotten up and made together after a bit too much thistle on a hang out night. Some were chocolate chips, pretzels and peanut butter bits, others were potato chips, sea salt and caramel. Whatever was on hand to throw in and make a treat with. That box she wrapped up in a paper the color of a soft blue eggshell. 

The third was full of a mix of wrapped candies and chocolate bars from the shop near his apartment, all traditional Silvermooon staples — enough to share, just in case. That one was just a bag, but she was still able to wrap it up in a rosy quartz colored paper and stack on top. 

But the LAST piece, that was the trouble. 

She huffed, knowing she was overthinking the whole thing. He’d been out on duty for so long, it was hard to know where he’d had to pause his Captain Azeroth reading. Did they ship out to the troops? Surely they did, if requested. It was Captain Azeroth. What if he already had a bunch and was up to date? Ugh. 

Still, the man at the comics shop had been quite helpful and had pointed her toward a storyline that was being printed adjacently from the main comics. Some time loop shenanigan that had started to spiral off too much into its own, separate enough entity that the creator was pursuing it through a new run. 

That seemed safer. But what if he DID want the regular run? 

It didn’t matter. He’d be happy that she’d thought about it at all, probably. 

She’d bought the limited run, and even with all the other parts of the care package ready to go still waffled about it. Pyraelia steeled her resolve and carefully tucked the brown paper bag the comics had been put in when they sold them to her in between some of the other treat boxes. 

Then came the note. She’d already sent a card of thanks for the flowers he’d sent her for her birthday, but this felt like it maybe needed to be a bit more than that. Sana had asked her a few nights previous why she hadn’t said anything yet; did she need to? There wasn’t anything to really confess, not here on ink and paper. Of course he knew, didn’t he? 

She squashed down some of her more intrusive thoughts before putting her pen to paper.

It can be hard being so far away from home and all your favorites for such a long time. I’m sure you’re doing amazing. I sincerely hope everything included after this card will brighten your day up a little! 

There’s SO much to catch you up on when you’re given shore leave. Or whatever they call it. A break? That seems too normal.

She shoved the card into a lavender envelope and boxed everything up together in a simple white box that she took to the shipping mailmentals as soon as she'd sealed it all shut. Better to get it out the door now before she could change her mind!

tell me about arcee + her relationship to optimus 👀👀 i looove their dynamic in the end of exrid and the optimus prime ongoing

Omg yes!! They're so good!!

Arcee's first notable interaction with Optimus is after Dark Cybertron where she asks to tag in on the mission to Earth and asks about Hardhead. Optimus apologizes for forgetting that she and Hardhead were friends and neglecting to tell her about his death, to which Arcee responds with a defeated smile, saying that everyone forgets about those things.

The thing to keep in mind is that at this point everyone still sees Arcee like some crazy murder lady, even the people Arcee thought she had a connection with don't believe her capable of things like friendship (even Arcee doesn't think herself capable of that), so Optimus acknowledging her relationship and apologizing is sort of the best Arcee has gotten at this point. I am aware that this is setting the bar on the floor, but still, Optimus agrees to let Arcee come with him and seems to not pay mind to her reputation.

It makes sense, Optimus is someone that wants to believe in the good in people and that they can change more than he actually does. He doesn't seem to have much experience with Arcee, but she approaches him with no malice so she takes her in good faith. Arcee has been struggling to try to change herself and find a way to help create a better world and I think Optimus appreciates that.

Optimus, it seems, likes Arcee a lot. He tasks her with keeping an eye on Prowl while he's absent from Earth and then seems to take her as a sort of right-hand-woman. After Prowl, Arcee becomes the de-facto Autobot leader when Optimus is not there, over the other Autobots that had been there from the beginning. This is a lot of trust to put on someone of her reputation that Optimus barely knows and who became an Autobot a couple months ago by way of deciding she was one and no one having the gal to deny her.

But Optimus justs seems to like people who aren't impressed by him (Windblade, Pyra Magna, Ratchet in a way, etc) and of course Arcee isn't impressed. She's older than the primacy, she met the original 13. Arcee doesn't idolize Optimus and neither does she antagonize him which are usually the only two camps in relation to him. She follows him because she wants to do good and there's not much she can do on her own, Optimus thing is supposed to be doing good and knows more about leading than her. She's willing to trust him that he means good, but she will also do her own thing when it seems fit and she's also keeping an eye on him because she's seen enough charismatic leaders to not how how easily they can sour. To her following Optimus is just a matter of practicality.

So they end up with this very interesting dynamic where they're both jaded people that don't know how to be vulnerable and can't really fulfill each other's emotional needs, but that nevertheless have an unspoken understanding as people who are trying their damn best in a good with no simple answers, so they can be honest with each other. Optimus takes Arcee by her word and doesn't see her through her reputation and Arcee doesn't expect of Optimus to be anything more than a mech. The mix of awkwarness, stoicism, trust and Arcee not taking any of OP's bullshit can result in touching moment as well as hilarous ones.

God, I wish so bad that Barber had given us more moments of them just talking to each other because everytime they do is gold. I want more of Arcee telling OP plainly to stop being full of himself, but also a more direct talk between them about the Cybertronian legacy and the place they have in it.

They are the key actors of Optimus Prime, the themes of their arcs compliment each other, the narrative would be incomplete if you took one out. Arcee has lived through all of Cybertron's bloody history. Optimus choose to embody that history. If Optimus' cause is "the future worth fighting for" he needs change to be possible or else everything he's ever done has been pointless. Arcee gives Optimus' struggle meaning because she is someone who despite everything managed to change with the force of nothing but the belief that a better world must be possible. Optimus takes on the Cybertronian sins and dies, killing the Primacy with him, so that everyone else can move on, and on a lower level, he directly tells Arcee to go an let him be the one that sacrifices himself so that Arcee can go back to Aileron and live the life that she didn't even thought she deserved.

Arcee doesn't go to Optimus funeral. Everyone else is trying to come to terms with teh complex, contradictory figure that was Optimus Prime, but Arcee doesn't need to. She has always seen Optimus as who he was, the good and the bad, and she knows what to do with his legacy, so instead she goes and tells the children a story. Optimus' final speech is delivered to us by way of Arcee as something that she knows he would have said because they understood each other through their shared hopes.

I think they could have been good friends had Optimus lived, but things couldn't be that way. Regardless, their relationship was a bit rough, but meaningful.

Justice for Ganondorf

Sm4sh's roster is the 4th best (XD) meaning the weakest if not for Melee. Making Sheik and Zero Suit distinct was great but only Charizard was lame. I'm glad the Trainer is the only character with that gimmick remaining. But the Master Ball is cool. (Also, quick sidenote: the new items in Ultimate are also really cool. I didn't know where to add it so here it is whilst I think of it). Honestly, the newcomers are all decent, highlights being to Palutena and Pac-Man, but the rest just aren't that fun to play as. Also, who they cut out weakens this one. And remember, this was before Echos so Dark Pit and Lucina were the worst characters until Ultimate. And the DLC. I'll start this off by saying that Ryu and Bayonetta are great (although I can't play them) but I don't really like the more realistic looking 3rd party characters, they don't gel well. Besides Snake, Snake is so realistic that he circles back. He's also Snake. But this is why I've never had a problem with the anime sword fighters, I think they look quite good along the more cartoony characters (anime and cartoon solidarity). Cloud is great. Corrin is not. This is the game where FE overstepped their boundary. Marth was good, Roy sucked, and Ike was a great replacement. Robin was good and unique but another clone of Marth? And then DLC for the 2 worst FE reps? Get out of here. If Lucina and Corrin weren't in Smash I think people would have responded more positively to FE. And Byleth should have been in the base game of Ultimate, even if that's impossible. And the rest being characters already represented in the game? And Roy? I am so glad for Ultimate. And I am so glad for Luigi becoming a unique character So: Brawl > Ultimate > 64 > Sm4sh > Melee. Justice for Ganondorf. (Subspace Emissary/Nintendo Sci-fi, 3D All-stars, Sonic/Metal Gear, Tennis, Nitro Kart Planets) Another thing I thought about is the representation of women in Smash. I forgot that Ken was new in Ultimate and whilst great, and the most unique echo, Chun-Li would have been better. And again with Terry, Mai Shiranui is more iconic. Some may say that she's too sexual but that's a load of bull, Bayonetta is in Smash along with Pyra and Mythra, sadly. And people like Mai's sexuality. Sexuality isn't the problem, it's the lack of male sexuality. The closest we get is Sephiroth and Snake. Recently, I've been playing a lot of CTR Nitro. Best kart racer on switch and best roster from any game bar none, the only characters not referenced in that game from Crash's history are Farmer Earnest, Willy Wumpa Cheeks, and Viscount. But out of 55 characters only 10 are female. 7 are bandicoots, 5 are sexy bandicoots and another one is a baby version, and you are only left with 3. Even if you add all the genderless characters, like we do in real life, there are only 16. The most unique female character is Nina Cortex, the rest are either cute or sexy animals. In Smash, there are 19 characters out of 94 that are female (including echos, Alex, and secondary characters like Luma and Kazooie) one of which is Sheik. 35 if you include Pokemon, animals, and characters that can be either or. Back in 64 Samus was the only woman and they had to put her in twice to boost the numbers. Chun-Li and Mai Shiranui would have been great female reps that are both strong, capable, and present different and somewhat realistic beauty, more so than Pyra/Mythra. So maybe I was too harsh on Isabelle. (I can't figure out how to add back the title for my last post) But I haven't answered the question, what is my ideal roster? Best most unique characters: Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B, and Piranha plant. Duck Hunt and Ice Climbers can suck it, being from the NES does not increase your importance. But those three are good starters for inspiration. Best Team in the Subspace Emissary: Samus, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Olimar, DK, and Diddy (honourable mention is R.O.B). Dedede, Ness, and Luigi come second. Best Series reps as a whole: DK and Kirby. So how do we make the other series feel as whole and complete as DK and Kirby?

EMBRACE

“Elena!” she shouted, breaking away from Pyra and sprinting towards her sister. Elena ran too and they collided into a hug, wrapping their arms around one another. Elena smiled broadly amidst the embrace as Cerris sobbed into her shoulder. Tears of joy bubbled from her eyes, but she didn’t care. The pain she’d been carrying for two months slipped from her shoulders. She almost laughed as relief washed through her like sunlight. Neither was sure how long they held on, but Cerris finally found more words. “I thought you were dead.”

PRESSURE

Cerris’s mind stopped. The wave within her froze. It shimmered, reflecting the night before and the insulting young man in the tavern. The pathetic young man who couldn’t take no for an answer. The man who now stood smiling. Within her, the cold pressure of the wave halted. Then it exploded. Her skin boiled, her teeth ground like mill stones, as her entire body ignited and was swallowed in burning rage. Cerris’s hand shot sideways, pulled the sword from Bardor’s scabbard, and she sprang at Tiber, pulling the blade towards him.

i used to ship Shulk with Alvis until i fully unpacked why i detested Shulk and Pyra together as a ship (shipping Pyra with a man who looks like a younger version of her "father" feels gross) and had to deal with the unavoidable fanon of the Aegises (+Alvis) all being siblings... so the ship is now a massive squick for me.

i will tolerate it as long as Aegis sibling headcanons aren't also being used at the same time but it feels like the bar is on the ground and this fandom has shovels for hands.

Leo was restless, hot-blooded, and fully in his breeding cycle when he walked into the cafe. He had no idea what he'd just walked into, just that he needed some time to cool off and get his mind and blood under control.

He was singleminded in his movements, sitting at the bar and asking for something without caffeine, not even looking up from the bartop as he tried to get his burning blood and insatiable lust under control.

Unfortunately for him, this cafe was probably the worst place for him to be in control of his lust, and the redheaded bunnygirl who's attention he'd caught as he walked in had no idea the beast that was simmering just beneath the surface of the man at the counter...

It was a slow evening at the Happy Ending Cafe. There were a few customers, but most were actually just here to drink or dine, rather than partake in some of the more... Luxurious services on the menu. None of the girls seemed to mind, though. What none of them expected was that the atmosphere was about to get much more intense...

A lion-man suddenly walked in and had a seat at one of the open booths. It didn't take long for one of the bunny maids, Pyra, to approach with a notepad in hand. "Welcome to the Happy Ending Cafe, Master! How can I serve you this evening?"

This is a good list, so I thought I could try it myself. Here's my picks:

GUYS

OLIMAR - You've gotta have this guy. He's the main character of the Pikmin series, which has seen a surge of popularity recently. Nintendo it putting Pikmin on the level of Animal Crossing and even Kirby now.

OLIMAR - The Pikmin series is Miyamoto's pet project, they deserve a second rep.

OLIMAR - His name is an anagram of Mario, but with an L, therefore making him more important than Mario.

OLIMAR - Though Olimar himself didn't appear in the Wii to Wii U Data Transfer, his pikmin did. Therefore Olimar serves as a Wii/Wii U rep.

OLIMAR - Olimar does appear in New Play Control! Pikmin and New Play Control! Pikmin 2, both of which were on the Wii.

OLIMAR - I think you could play the New Play Control! games on the Wii U too.

OLIMAR - Gotta get that Alarmo rep in there too.

OLIMAR - He has a family man vibe that I think is sorely lacking in Ultimate's roster. Many will feel represented by this little man.

OLIMAR, OLIMAR, OLIMAR - People who do not feel represented by Olimar will feel represented by his pikmin, which follow him into battle.

OLIMAR, OLIMAR - One minor change, he gets a jetpack from Hey Pikmin.

GIRLS

OLIMAR - Didn't you know Olimar is genderfluid? Cause she is.

OLIMAR, OLIMAR, OLIMAR - Bonus fact, Olimar is also bisexual. She loves her wife very much.

OLIMAR - This Olimar is from Pikmin 1 specifically.

OLIMAR - Olimar would be an excellent pick for new players. She has a very simple and easy to understand moveset.

OLIMAR - Olimar loves studying nature, and has the most in-depth Piklopedia entries. It stands to reason she could summon various beasties to fight for her.

OLIMAR - Self explanatory.

OLIMAR - It's weird that she doesn't get rock pikmin in any form in Ultimate. We're changing that, as well as adding Ice, Glow, and Bulbmin.

OLIMAR - One of the most iconic fighters from Melee, it only makes sense to bring her back.

MECHANICA (ARMS) - Gotta get a heavyweight female fighter in there!

OLIMAR, OLIMAR - It might be a little strange doubling up on the Pikmin reps, but it's a pretty big franchise. Some pikmin made it into Super Nintendo World, and I imagine tickets there are very expensive. Thankfully Olimar is loaded thanks to Pikmin 4 selling so much.

OLIMAR - Admittedly this one is a me pick.

CREATURES AND CHARACTERS, TYPICALLY PLAYER, OF EITHER CARDINAL GENDER (like Pikachu or the Animal Crossing Villager)

OLIMAR - Olimar is in fact a player character, like Animal Crossing Villager.

OLIMAR - I could have placed them in the guys section but my hand slipped.

OLIMAR/LOUIE - They switch out like Pyra/Mythra, only from a game I've played. And less gross.

OLIMAR/LOUIE - They're actually just as gross as Pyra/Mythra, but not for fanservice reasons.

OLIMAR, OLIMAR, OLIMAR - Pokemon is one of the most famous franchises on Earth. Here's three Olimars.

OLIMAR - Remember to hydrate.

OLIMAR - There's tons of moveset potential from Bingo Battle in Pikmin 3. You could even pull some tech from Dandori Missions!

OLIMAR/LOUIE - They fight together like the Ice Climbers, only Louie doesn't attack or move at all.

OLIMAR - It's crazy how we have five (technically six!) Smash Bros games and still don't have Olimar in there at all! Let's fix that.

OLIMAR - For his Final Smash, he brings out Moss.

OLIMAR - This is the most controversial pick in the list. To better represent the unique gameplay of the Pikmin series, I want Olimar to play exactly like from his games, which includes a Z axis, linear health bar, not being thrown when hit, up to 100 pikmin on the field at once, and the jetpack from Hey Pikmin.

Barely missed the cut: No one. There were no other options in all of gaming.

As you can tell, my list is perfect and therefore needs no notes. THank you

A SEMI-REASONABLE 40 CHARACTER SMASH ROSTER

An exercise in indulgence and egoism, and posted as the same.

THE RULES:

1. Characters shall be semi-reasonable! Beatoriche I love you but this needs to be a roster composed of characters who could conceivably actually make it into Smash. They should be from video games, and ideally ones people care about.

2. Characters shall be gender balanced! I separated my picks into four categories: GUYS, GIRLS, and CREATURES AND CHARACTERS, TYPICALLY PLAYER, OF EITHER CARDINAL GENDER (like Pikachu or the Animal Crossing Villager). the number of GUYS shall be EQUAL TO OR LESSER THAN the number of GIRLS. I set this restriction on myself and so should you.

3. Characters shall be 40 of them! but you could tell that from the title.

GUYS

MARIO - You have to have this guy. also like it's been like 20+ years since Sunshine can we not give him something other than FLUDD?

DONKEY KONG, LUIGI, NESS, BOWSER, FOX, WARIO - You also have to have these guys. I cut Captain Falcon, as we already had Fox as a Smash original character.

LINK - Someday we will be able to put Link in the CHARACTERS OF EITHER CARDINAL GENDER list, but not yet.

KING DEDEDE - Sakurai made this so his faves get a little extra attention. I claim that same right.

SNAKE - Updated for MGSV, naturally.

SONIC (Palette Swap: SHADOW) - I really really don't care about these guys. I kind of actively hate them actually. but they deserve to be here, even if all their moves are the same (turning into a ball and the ball flies at you).

CLOUD - The iconic Final Fantasy pretty boy. Would I prefer Lightning? yeah. but this is the semi-realistic roster.

PHOENIX WRIGHT - I know, preaching to the crowd here. This guy is a tumblr darling behind only his boyfriend Miles Edgeworth. But they've put him in fighting games before! And he totally has a moveset, right? Presenting his badge as a jab, shooting OBJECTION and TAKE THAT! (HOLD IT! is a grab!), submitting paperwork and random items hoping and praying that they'll be accepted as evidence...

Barely missed the cut: Sans Undertale, Sekiro, Shulk, Solaire, Paper Mario, Sora.

GIRLS

SAMUS - You have to have this girl.

PEACH/DAISY - Ideally Daisy would get Luigified (this is the very technical term for when a Smash character starts out as a clone and then gets differentiated) as the Mario Sports Game Representation. But that probably wouldn't happen. Peach is fine. kind of

ZELDA (Breath of the Wild/Tears Of The Kingdom) - The opposite of the Smash Ultimate dynamic. Smash Lscholar Link is old-school Link; Zelda is newer Zelda. Like in Hyrule Warriors she fights using runes on her magic ipad/wii u pad/nintendo switch game console. Bombs, Ice Block, Ultrahand - and the ability to Recall all of them, sending them flying backwards along their trajectories when the attack is reinput. An evil zoner but let's be honest: she already is. Maybe she has a "take a picture" that can stun?

ISABELLE, ROSALINA - both need reworks. Isabelle in particular has the potential to be a Kirby for new players - but hitting with her is so hard that most try her for a round and play Toon Link instead.

BAYONETTA - No notes.

HORNET (Hollow Knight: Silksong) - Clear moveset, fan favorite, zero questions.

D.VA (Overwatch and, fine, Overwatch 2) - The single most popular Overwatch character by far, and a much needed female heavyweight character. Would translate pretty well to Smash as a pushy zippy tank-type.

EDELGARD VON HRESVELG (Fire Emblem: Three Houses/Three Hopes) - big smashy axe, avowed militant atheist, Vriska, Fire Emblem rep. Smash Lsclr's Ike. Slow but dangerous, with surprising range, much like Byleth; unlike Byleth she is an actual character. also her axe twirl has to be a taunt. Also she's canonically bisexual. which would make her the second bisexual smash character after Snake, and the third in my heart after Cloud Strife (Byleth isn't real).

REIMU HAKUREI (Touhou) - Iconic rep from possibly the single most important indie game series.

CHUN LI (STREET FIGHTER) - Honestly surprised they put Ryu in Smash. I feel like if you asked anybody to name a Street Fighter character Chun Li would be first?

UNDYNE (Undertale) - Fine. Susie (Deltarune) is also acceptable.

VI or JINX or SOME LEAGUE OF LEGENDS GIRL (LoL) - as with Sonic I don't care for these but they have undeniably earned their places. Arcane was better than it should have been and I really hope Mel Medarda survives into s2.

SABER (Fate/Stay Night) - It's Saber! I know this seems like a meme pick but I really do think she deserves to be here.

Barely missed the cut: Karlach or Shadowheart, The Silent, Arle Nadja, Vriska

CREATURES AND CHARACTERS, TYPICALLY PLAYER, OF EITHER CARDINAL GENDER (like Pikachu or the Animal Crossing Villager)

PIKACHU - You have to have this thing. Brand recognition on par with Santa Claus or Jesus. A creature for sure, even if its tail indicates biological gender.

KIRBY - This is technically a Guy but in practice this is a creature. also I have one less Guy than Girl so I could put him there, but I chose not to.

YOSHI/BIRDO - Put a trans woman in Smash. She's just a Yoshi reskin and that's fine.

MARTH/LUCINA - The other Fire Emblem rep. Why does Awakening get like three characters? may have to make Marth a bit less floaty to make this work but they really should consolidate these two.

POKEMON TRAINER (Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle) - good on nintendo for making it possible to play pokemon trainer as a guy or girl.

POKEMON TRAINER 2 (Gengar, Gardevoir, Lucario) - We have so many pokemon and here's three more. swap out one of your choice for Jigglypuff or Mewtwo or Mimikyu or Greninja or whatever, as long as your substitution isn't from Kanto. This pokemon trainer is a bit more of a tryhard, and wears darker clothing. also their pokemon are category balanced: one is a guy, one is a girl, and one is a creature.

INKLING - Kind of a creature and definitely not of either cardinal gender. these kids squids are nonbinary. A good addition to smash; may they goop and bloop for many games to come.

Wii FIT TRAINER - Mix in Wii Sports and Ring Fit and whatever else.

ANIMAL CROSSING VILLAGER/MINECRAFT STEVE AND ALEX/PACMAN AND MS PACMAN - CHARACTERS OF EITHER CARDINAL GENDER

NOAH AND MIO XENOBLADE (XENOBLADE 3) - Like Pyra and Mythra but less gross. Mio has faster short range chakram attacks and mobility; Noah has slower harder-hitting moves.

THE ASSASSIN (Assassin's Creed) - Snake represents Solid, Naked, and Venom; why can't The Assassin be Altair, Ezio, and whoever else?

Barely missed the cut: Duck Hunt, Toad/Toadette.

I could try to get the accessories for the first set of costumes for my alternate colours XC2 run, which all come to about 150 Noponstones in total, roughly

Or I could go for the second set, which total about 600 Noponstones overall, possibly more depending on if I want to get them for everyone (i.e. both the Drivers and their main Blades)

..unfortunately the second set all look much much cooler in my opinion (the only real exception is Tora’s, but I never have him in my party anyway), so.. given that you only get about 10 Noponstones from the challenges I can actually take on at my current level, I guess I’m going to be grinding here for a while .w.

(Also, I’m intending to stream this playthrough, so keep an eye out for when I’ve finalised the starting dates and times if you’re curious to see the story of XC2!)

But seriously, I wish we had seen more of Arcee and Optimus, I mean they do have a lot of scenes together but Barber's writing could have used more of characters Just Chilling (then again is not like these two are well versed in that).

Optimus just seems to like Arcee. He honestly seems to like people who aren't impressed by him, like Windblade and Pyra (or maybe he's just a feminist). Also, Optimus does apologize for forgetting Arcee and Hardhead were friends and not telling her about his demise, which is more respectful to her and her emotions than what she has had so far (which is so sad, the bar is on the floor fot this woman). But yeah, Optimus doesn't struggle to see Arcee as more than a machine for violence. He trusts her. and he actually trusts her a lot, I mean, he leaves her in charge when he's absent when she barely knows her.

I think there's some unspoken understanding between the two that they're just trying to do their best even when they don't know what that is. I think that trust appeals to Arcee and is why she sticks with Optimus even when she has her doubts about him. And also because someone has to keep an eye on him. But again, the fact that Arcee is not impressed by Optimus plus her long experiences with Cybertronian authoritarianism could lend itself to her saying thing Optimus should hear and he would actually listen. And to just... keeping each other company. Optimus does express appreciation for that.

Optimus dies to give Arcee a future because she recognizes all the progress she has made. Optimus' last speech is delivered to us by Arcee. They really did have an understanding, a bond. I like to imagine that had Optimus survived, they could have been friends.

Also, they have the potential for the funniest awkward interactions dajhdjddhd. That time Optimus was trying to comfort Arcee and she's just like "yeah you killed my brother in front of me and I let you" dajhsndhd priceless.
