By me (?. This time only sfw headcanons. TRIGGER WARNING: THERE ARE SMALL MENTIONS OF ALCOHOL, CIGS AND TATTOOS. Let's goooo

Merula is the complete opposite of the clean-girl aesthetic and lifestyle: she stays up all night, falls asleep on any couch in the Slytherin common room with her makeup on, often skips meals, does her makeup with dirty brushes or just her fingers, loves black coffee without any sugar on it, (in her adulthood) may have only Jack Daniels for breakfast, a couple of cigs or just two sweets, etc. Don't worry, the older she gets, the more aware she becomes of what is wrong, and little by little, she starts to take better care of her health.

Merula hates spicy food. She avoids tasting it at all costs because immediately after tasting it, her eyes water and her face and ears get red and hot.

Without the enchantment she put on herself to make them look violet, her eyes are a rather pretty hazel colour.

Although Merula knows how to do magic without a wand, she prefers doing it with a wand because she feels it looks more elegant and impressive.

Merula has an average height of 1.60 - 1.65 m.

Her makeup bag is one of the most disorganised, dirty and broken in existence. She carries that everlasting makeup that belonged to her mother or aunt many years ago, and for some reason, it still won't run out. Her brushes had never been washed, and some blush broke inside the bag, making it all dirty and messy. But somehow, she manages to always get spectacular makeup done.

Merula can't whistle, and she is kinda resentful of Barnaby because he can do it without any effort.

Merula actually has a really good singing voice and a pretty decent musical ear, although (ironically) she doesn't brag about it much. In her early adulthood, while she was figuring out what career to pursue, she became part of a local grunge band for some time.

As an adult, Merula filled almost every inch of her body with tattoos. The first tattoos she got were in her last year at Hogwarts to cover her knees, and she was extremely proud of them. I personally think she got something like this:

When Merula sleeps, she does so with a frown on her face and her mouth slightly open.

Merula hates the feeling of having long hair. She can only stand to let it grow until it barely covers her neck from behind.

Her hair is quite damaged due to a lot of hot showers, a lot of teasing, lots of bleaching and dying some parts of it, and cutting it with any kind of scissors, razors or spells.

She is the type of person who has extremely long relationships, at least they last 4 years. And although she has a hard time formalising at first, she is the most loyal person in the world once they are exclusive.

In her early days at Hogwarts, she used to hang out a lot only with Ismelda. As the years passed, her personality and her social circle changed. So she started hanging out with more people, like Chiara, Jae, Talbott, MC, Viktor, Liz, and other students in different years.

She doesn't like Ben since his personality changed. She prefers to avoid being around him or alone with him.

Been working on a few things decided to make some au notes while listening to 2000s grunge

-both of them ❤️ practically inseparable and always running around causing mischief

-they attend camp together for the next 4 years until they eventually graduate from it

-they don't talk as much as they would want to, but they still hang out whenever the other is free

-Raz is trying to become a Psychonaut while Lili is struggling with surviving all of high-school

-She tries to get him to spend a year with her in school but he refuses. He's heard all the interns horror stories of that place

-Lili is really moody and Raz is really awkward, so it makes communicating (especially about their relationship) somewhat difficult

-After Raz went to college all communication between the two was just non existent at that point. The only time they ever talked was through e-mail but only for certain work related things

-they reconnected after being paired as partners for a certain mission once he got back

-They still have a very special bond. They're still very close despite what they say

-although because they know eachother almost too well, they know how to get their way with eachother

-Lili is really good at pushing Raz's buttons. She can read him like a book and knows how she can get away with certain things if she gets him frustrated/flustered enough.

-Raz is her partner but he's also a big snitch when it comes to anything Psychonaut related, and with Hollis as the new grand head, Lili doesn't get away with half as much as she used to. Raz tends to use this to his advantage because he knows just how much Lili hates being told what to do and what not to do

-they definitely still have feelings for eachother. 100%. They still just really suck at talking about them

Lowkey been really fucking obsessed with the Fazbear Toddler Fun analog horror series for days now and I hate it cause it is utterly phenomenal in ways that just look goofy af to anyone who isn't incredibly in tune both with authentic recreation of niche video game visual tropes and the narrative significance of the Five Night's at Fredsy's chronology.

The final sequence of the last episode has unparalleled levels of attention to detail in replicating every ounce of old edutainment game tomfoolery, and to top it off it does not even stumble for a second in using that to tear the game's in-universe existence and the protagonist apart.

Cause its not just the period accuracy of IRL video games but the timeline of in-universe Freddy's locations and rebrands. Like it's actually a choice that the characters are based around the FNAF2 location cast, just with Foxy as well likely cause he was so iconic and The Mangle (adorably adapted as "Funtime", Foxy's little sister) wouldn't cut it. You can actually assume this is a late 90s game in context of being after the brands peak in the 80s, or honestly if you're weird like me you always got a very 90s vibe from the Toy Animatronics and assume this game was in tandem with THAT rebrand. OK OK BUT EIRHER WAY. The game as a vapid attempt at a rebrand borrows its cues from the most dramatic and vapid canon rebrand, and it makes every call back to the original tragedy sting so much more.

FNAF2's location has always been one of the furthest away from the Bite of '83 and original MCI, with the FNAF1 location existing more directly in its shadow cause it's where the story was first told even if it's ironically furthest from it. The sort of grunge and shoddiness that defines the atmosphere of the other tragedies is not present there, and its abysmally short run (canonically was only open for weeks as every other returant was assumedly for years) gives it a certain innocence and purity to it. The Toy Animatronics did not have the time to accumulate that physical and metaphorical rot which pervades the brand through the felt animatronics. They were literally retired and revived to carry the legacy of that pain, but the Toys were a genuine - and short-lived - attempt to almost fully separate.

But this all to fucking say - when the ghost of the crying child uses the games stupid little movie maker to tell the story of his death, and when he snaps the misshapen model of Fredbear atop the shiny new Toy Freddy on that stage... it's fr. It's so fr. It's so "how dare you think you can escape..." how dare you think you can run from that past while tracking prints - while not truly letting go.

It gets SO WELL at that angle of corporate whitewashing and greed that is the ONE THEME in FNAF, to the point I can (almost) forgive it for its demonization if Michael. Because he ties into it to. Oh you think it's just cute and a little messed up that they tried to overwrite the tragedy of my death? You think it's just a spooky little game to come back here, to this complete mockery and erasure of my pain? The way that you said you were sorry but I knew you never were? Like fucking christ man.

The magic of obtuse storytelling methods is how they can thread together odd symbolism and ideas into a story in a way something straightforward cannot. Stories of haunting are fascinating because it allows for the expression of harsh and terrible emotions through manipulation of symbols, and I love when internet horror takes that to the umpteenth level in the found footage/found game subgenre by twisting those symbols of the truly light and unassuming in media even when it's goofy af.

When you're dealing with death of children at a bootleg Chuck E Cheese you're most realistically going to get a Chuck E Cheese style haunting, but the point is to embrace that. Find the perversity of something that is supposed to be so light and childish being forced to bare a heavy, meaningful pain. For a model of a crusty dancing bear in a CG point and click game to be the most chilling graphic imaginable.

i'd be so honored if you did!!!! i never made a specific outfit pinterest board for pt. within the fic itself, i think i spent too much time describing everyone's outfits lol. i really really love clothes! it should be pretty affordable to do; everyone in pt is either in college and/or in their twenties--no one has the budget to reeeaaaally dress to impress lol. i would avoid big labels on things, big designs. (mitsuri is revealed to be a sanrio girlie but i would not put her in a hello kitty sweatshirt, for instance. obanai likes a lot of hardcore music but any band tee he would wear is nondescript.)

i stuck to obanai's color palette pretty strictly--he's never quite e-boy (even though shinobu describes him that way) and he's never quite punk. he rides the wave of alternative. black and white tops, black doc martens, black skinny jeans, black masks. a leather jacket if it won't be too hot. you can really play around with how dressy and modern you'd like obanai to be.

mitsuri's color palette is way more open than obanai's--i took more personal liberties. she's very likely to be in pastel pink, but mint green, pale blue, and soft lilac are also options. i think it can be easy to do, like, pastel grunge or something, but i would resist that with pt mitsuri. she's very much a frothy, drapey, sweet girl. selkie, wildfox, and betsey johnson are all inspos for her. she likes things oversized. it depends how you want to style mitsuri--is she at the beginning of pt with lots of body insecurity? or is she towards the end, with more acceptance and self-love? totally up to you i guess the outfits where they first meet stick out in my mind? or their outfits at shinobu's graduation. idk i'm just running my mouth, i think whatever you decide will be so amazing! i can't wait to see y'all's interpretation!!!

Y/n ran her hands through her hair, putting her luggage down onto the floor. Alice had just finished mixing their record, so now they just had to get the cover done and they would be able to release it.

Upon their arrival back to LA, Y/n was filled with this hollowness in her body. She was okay during most of the making of the record, but now she had nothing to distract her from her fucked up life.

Downstairs, Jerry opened the door to see a very fucked up Duff.

“Where’s Y/n” He asked Jerry, his voice strained.

Jerry’s eyebrows furrowed, “She’s upstairs, why?”

Jerry turned back to look at Duff, who just stormed pass him. “Jeez” Jerry mumbled to himself.

Y/n jumped as she looked at Duff, who had slammed her bedroom door shut.

He paced to the side of the bed where she was sitting on, the girls heart racing because he looked pissed.

Duff raised his hand, slapping her across the face. “You fucken idiot!” He yelled

Y/ns eyes teared up as she put her hand against her face, “what the fuck Duff” she said, her voice cracking.

And the next thing she knew, Duff had his hands wrapped around her throat, she laid on her bed as he strangled her.

She attempted to pry his hands off her, her tears falling off the side of her face. She couldn’t breath, she was fucken mortified.

“Duff” She said, trying to breath,

“I fucken told you Y/n” He said “I told you that if you ever touched another fucken needle i was gonna kick your ass!” He yelled.

As she looked into his eyes, silently pleading for him to let go of her, she saw nothing. No remorse, no Duff.

This was it she thought, she was gonna fucken die, and Duff was gonna be the one to kill her.

Huh, who would’ve thought.

That was until Jerry and Layne bursted through the door. To be honest, they heard Duff yelling and they thought it was weird that Y/n wasn’t yelling back, so they decided to see what was going on. And they were so glad they did.

“Duff let her go” Layne said as him and Jerry attempted to pull Duff off of Y/n. “Sean!” Layne called out.

“What the fuck” Sean said as he entered the room, immediately grabbing Duff and ripping him off of Y/n.

“What’s your fucken issue!” Sean yelled at Duff as Layne rushed to Y/ns side.

“Y/n” Layne said

Y/n was hyperventilating, her fingers lightly touching her throat as she cried.

Duffs eyes widened when he looked at his baby sister, what the fuck had he done? “Oh my god Y/n i’m sorry”

“Get him out” Y/n said, her voice barley coming through.

Sean grabbed him by his shirt, dragging him out of the room as Duff protested and repeatedly apologized.

“Just let me talk to her” Duff cried to Sean as they were now standing outside “Please man i didn’t mean to do this, I-i fucken blacked out”

“Get the fuck out” Sean said, shoving him.

“No- no that’s my sister” Duff stuttered out, running his hand down his face

Sean scoffed at him, walking back into the house and locking the door. As much as he wanted to kick Duffs ass, he mainly wanted to see if Y/n was okay.

Sean walked back into Y/ns room, her head laying on Laynes lap as Jerry was sitting on the floor.

Sean kneeled down, looking at Y/n “I’m so glad you didn’t die” he said

Y/n cracked a smile as a tears fell out of her eyes “Me too” she croaked.

“We were saying we should call Susan” Jerry spoke up.

“Is that okay?” Sean asked Y/n

Y/n nodded her head slightly, and Sean & Jerry left the room.

Y/n removed herself from Laynes lap, she looked at him as she whispered, “I can’t do this anymore Layne”

Layne looked at her, his eyes watery “Don’t say that”

“Everything is too complicated” She said “I just need a break”

“We’ll get you a break okay? We could go anywhere you want” Layne held her “Just please don’t leave me” He whispered

The Secret of NIMH- I can only recall like 2 seconds of this movie, but I have full faith that it's good (unless all the hype is for the book...)

An American Tail- A I don't remember this one well either but I do remember liking it and the giant steampunk mouse they built and also the absolutely iconic Somewhere Out There

The Land Before Time- We all know this one is good right?

All Dogs Go to Heaven- This movie is my go to example of INSANE 80s/early 90s kids movies. The hero runs an illegal casino until he's murdered by his business partner (who is named after Scarface), and then he spends most of the movie trying to cheat death because he'll be sent to Hell and he's exploiting a child to gamble the entire time. Also the Alligator???? Anyway this movie is wild and I watched it a LOT as a kid.

Rock-A-Doodle- Never seen it. Rooster?

Thumbelina- Do not remember it but I remember the vibes and they are good.

A Troll in Central Park- I have never seen this movie BUT I could probably recite the trailer verbatim because it was on my VHS of Black Beauty and I watched that movie all the time (also featured the trailer for Little Giants and a Chuck E. Cheese commercial where a child turns into an old man)

The Pebble and the Penguin- Too much talk about Don Bluth only knowing how to draw one man (or two) and not enough about the insane character design for Drake

(that's a PENGUIN). Also it stars Martin Short, Jim Belushi and Tim Curry. Anastasia- You don't need me to hype Anastasia. you know. Also I KNOW that I left off Bartok the Magnificent but I ran out of room. You can vote for it on this one if you want.

Titan A.E.- You should absolutely go watch Titan A.E. because it's just really really solid sci fi. Cool alien designs, nice use of a mixed cgi and traditional animation elements. Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Nathan Lane (But evil), Bill Pullman, John Leguizamo. incomprehensible grunge movie. And random lines that are forever burned into my brain like "fight the good fight, Precious". Fievel Goes West- This has John Cleese as the villain, and is the Hollywood Icon Jimmy Stewart's last movie. A fun western! Fun fact; the VHS copy that we got when I was a kid (and gave away like... last week) we got from our Dentist's office. I do not know how that came to be. but I want you to be aware of it. Also for further lines forever in my mind: "your darling baby bubby bunka boo"

If Cena Wins , We Riot: Looking Back On John Cena vs Rob Van Dam

In honor of tonight’s new episode of Biography: WWE Legends on A&E about Rob Van Dam, this article is going to be looking back at the match between John Cena and Rob Van Dam at ECW One Night Stand in 2006.

Extreme Championship Wrestling ( ECW ) was once a popular wrestling promotion founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as a branch of the National Wrestling Alliance ( NWA ) , however , in 1993, wrestling manager and businessman , Paul Heyman ( previously Paul E.Dangerously ) , took over creative control. Heyman made the promotion into being known for hardcore wrestling, which meant weapons such as tables and sometimes fire would be used during the shows. He also had different wrestlers of different backgrounds come in to the promotion and show styles of wrestling that were never seen before . Wrestlers such as Rob Van Dam, Raven , The Sandman , and Tommy Dreamer are examples of stars of the promotion. Heyman described his promotion as a grunge version of the WWF as Grunge Music was a popular genre of music during the 90s. However , Vince McMahon bought out the company after it went bankrupt in 2003. Thus, McMahon would make it WWE’s third brand in 2006.

Paul Heyman would be in charge of creative for the rebrand of ECW in 2006 with McMahon supervising his role for a few months. Heyman’s brand would be the third one to be on TV alongside Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown. Therefore, he would also bring back the ECW World Heavyweight Championship and the first champion being Rob Van Dam. Van Dam received the championship as a reward for winning the main event of One Night Stand.

Following One Night Stand’s success in 2005, WWE decided to bring back the show for 2006 under the rebrand of ECW. The show took place on June 11,2006 in New York. Paul Heyman opened the show with a promo and welcoming fans. Nevertheless, wrestlers from all three of WWE’s shows were there as well as ECW originals . The card for One Night Stand was stacked with matches such as Edge, Lita, and Mick Foley vs Tommy Dreamer , Beulah McGillicutty , and Terry Funk , and Sabu vs Rey Mysterio for the World Championship. The main event was Rob Van Dam vs John Cena for the WWE Championship.

The ECW fans did not respect John Cena before the big match started. Cena did his entrance the same as he did on RAW by throwing his T shirt out to the crowd , fans threw the shirt back multiple times due to their hatred of the future WWE Hall of Famer. When Rob Van Dam made his way to the ring , the fans erupted with cheers. During the match , fans kept shouting expletive chants at Cena and telling him that he could not wrestle. The match went outside of the ring with RVD hitting a moonsault off of the steel ring steps onto Cena. While the match was continuing and RVD getting out of Cena’s submission , the STFU , Cena decided to clothesline the referee. RVD also blocked Cena’s attempt to use his finishing move, the FU ( now the Attitude Adjustment). Nick Patrick was the substitute referee for the remainder of the match. Therefore , a person wearing a motorcycle helmet decided to run in the ring and gave Cena a spear through a table. Nevertheless, the person who wore the motorcycle helmet was revealed to be Cena’s rival , Edge. Edge also knocked out Nick Patrick with the fans cheering him on.

Paul Heyman rushed to the ring and counted to three, giving RVD the victory and the WWE Championship. On Monday Night RAW the next night , Heyman came to the ring and announced that Mr.McMahon looked back on the match and ruled that RVD was the WWE Champion . Heyman would reintroduce the WWE Championship as the ECW World Heavyweight Championship on the season premiere of ECW on Sci-Fi ( SyFy). Van Dam wanted to keep the WWE Championship because it spun and became the ECW World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Champion. He would soon be speared by Edge with John Cena coming through the crowd to attack Edge and punching Paul Heyman. Cena was chased away by ECW originals. At the Vengeance Pay Per View , Van Dam would retain the WWE Championship by defeating Edge. Cena defeated ECW original , Sabu , in an Extreme Rules Lumberjack Match. Rob Van Dam and John Cena’s One Night Stand Match was 20 minutes and 40 seconds.

Fun Fact: Kevin Steen ( Kevin Owens) was in attendance at One Night Stand.

My Final Thoughts:

This match has to be one of my all time favorites. It had so much drama with it and a lot of controversy to it , which is something I love to see because I think it is great storytelling when it comes to wrestling. Yes , you might be angry if your favorite loses but if it is a great match , it will be a classic. Cena and RVD put on a great show . I wasn’t expecting Cena to basically be booed out of the building . I also thought RVD was pretty cool as a kid and I still do. If you could go back in time , would you watch this match live?

That Grave Dirt Grunge is a novella I’ve been working for the past ten years or so, off and on. I’ve shopped it around a bit, edited it a couple times more post rejection, and then decided to self publish as a serial novella because of how bleak the publishing industry is right now.

Question: It’s for realsies done, right? A reader isn’t going to get invested and then find it it won’t update for a bit (if ever)?

Answer: Yes, it’s for realsies done, clocking in at just under 40,000 words. I’m still tweaking as I’m editing it for serialization but rest assured. It’s done, babes.

Question: Are you putting it behind a paywall? How much are you charging in this economy?

Answer: This is completely free. I may release a limited edition e-book if there’s interest, but for now, the podcast and the serial are the release formats. Tips are accepted of course (more on that later when I get it set up), but at this point, I just want to share a story that’s been a long time in the making.

Question: What is the release schedule?

Answer: Every Monday and Wednesday starting the first Monday in October. I’m leaving Friday in reserve in case I mathed it out wrong since the novella originally was not designed to be a serial and I’ve had to shorten chapters.

Question: If this was a book I picked up at someone’s garage sale, what would the blurb on the back say?

Answer: Mina works at a movie theater, and she always expects to be chewed up and spit out by her job--but not by zombies, who aren't even the worst of her problems. Boss gives a pink slip, landlord an eviction notice, all so their buildings can be sold for a fancy golf course. Then her best friend comes back, girl of her dreams, a crush so bad not even one of them going to college could kill it dead. Turns out, sharing that kind of love is harder than running for her life from the dead.

Answer: Absolutely not.

Question: Any content or trigger warnings?

Answer: there is some swearing in this book, about three or four a chapter I’d say. There is also some violence, though it’s definitely not the focus of the story (ie, if you’re expecting The Walking Dead level of gore/violence, you won’t find it here).
