oh gosh this is a good one!! I'm obsessed with music so I also put too much effort into assembling this list but here we go (links to youtube):

Silversun Pickups - Growing Old is Getting Old

maybe your own devices will keep you afraid and cold

Silversun Pickups are one of my favorite alltime bands and I listen to all of their songs a lot.. I decided to only put one SSPU song on this list and then it took me forever to pick which one because I listen to them all so much haha. There's something so magical about this song though and it's one of my fave SSPU songs of all time. And when the pace in the song kicks up around 3:30 and then ANOTHER notch around 4:15 with that distorted guitar.. ooo so good.

Paramore - This Is Why

this is why I don't leave the house you say the coast is clear, but you won't catch me out

A) we don't talk enough about the jazzy little snare drum intro this song has and B) catchiest earworm of the past few years, on regular rotash in my commuiting playlist so I can loudly sing along

Catchy as hell song that I identify with because I will go through very high up periods and this is my anthem during those times, which happen a lot so I'm always listening to this song.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Right Words Wrong Time

I need to find a love to love me with no hesitation don't you tell me now you're ready for me

I'm a Carly Rae girlie through and through, I just feel like she is the epitome of modern girlpop, and all her songs are so fucking catchy. This song puts me on an ethereal plane however around 2:30 when the polyphonic verse kicks in.

Finger Eleven - Swallowtail

Every few years I go through a Finger Eleven nostalgia phase and I'm in one right now.

Emarosa - Cinnamon

So deliciously melancholy 80s. I redisovered/fell in love with this song earlier this year and I've been listening to it a LOT. I've been building a playlist around this song & vibe although I have only pieced together a few other songs that I feel are worthy. Such a great song and I love the lyrics.

SOHN - The Wheel

I died a week ago, there's nothing left it's caught on video, the very last breath

This song gives me an out of body experience. WHEN THE CLICKY CLACKYS HIT AT 0:55 IS WHEN YOU CAN SEE MY SOUL ASCENDING. Then the bridge at 2:00 with the deep thocky bass drum beat. Fuuuuuu.

Holy Ghost! - Okay

even though I know the blood is fake the third act starts and it gets hard to take
