Mornings
One of his arms finds its way tucked across your waist and into the sheets below, and you relish the feeling of his stubble rubbing against your neck a little; the rise and fall of his chest, the warmth of his freckled hands in comparison to the coolness of the sheets and how he looks more at peace without his glasses on.
Eventually, morning would come. His nose would be tangled in your hair, and his arms still wrapped around your waist protectively; the sun peaking through the impossible slits in the blinds.

I wish I didn’t have to say this....
This is my official goodbye. I’m so sorry but I’ve just lost all of my love for this show after season 6. I will always cherish the characters as well as all of you but I can’t do it anymore. I tried. I really did but I’ve lost all passion for it. I still love to write and I intend to continue. I’m actually working on 3 different writing projects haha. And one I will announce actually now cause we are looking for people to join in.
I will miss you and I won’t stop loving Shiro. That will never happen haha. But as far as I know, this is the end of the road for me and space husband.
Bye

Drabble Challenge 29, 43, 62, 129, and 149. Shiro.
Pairing: Shiro/Reader
Warnings: Violence, unwanted flirting
149 We started with one and now we have seven. You have no chill.
43 Pick up lines only work when I am drunk
62 I warned you, he warned you, your mom freaking warned you
129  Well, you’re a prick
A/N: I had a ton of fun writing this but I am not going to attest to any quality that it holds. Also, I have no idea where the other Paladins are.
Who actually knew where you were. Some planet, in some galaxy, after trading some other crap for other crap that you should really sell for more since you were barely making any profit most days. All that mattered was this planet had some sort of dingy space bar.
Fixtures made out of some kind of metal were turning tarnished and green as they touched the ground. It wasn’t overly crowded, but definitely had some business. This planet was a fairly common pitstop for travelers. People from all sorts of galaxies seemed to be gathered here. It didn’t matter. You weren’t looking to do anything but get a drink and then go back to your ship.
The seats creaked as someone sat next to you and you rolled your eyes at the fact that with several seats in available on either side of you, they chose to sit right by you. You prepared yourself for the inevitable conversation.
“I need some directions.” The seemingly masculine voice sounded from next to you.
That was a reasonable request. You looked up at the gray skinned being next to you. Their blue hair braided out of their face, yellow eyes meeting yours. If you were in the mood you might even find them attractive. “I’m sorry. I’m not from around here.” you gave a small apologetic smile before turning back to spinning the straw from your drink around your fingers again.
“That’s fine. The directions to your place will do just as well.” You could see out of your peripheral vision the smirk that formed on their face as they leaned onto the counter.
Your eyes could have rolled out of your head they moved back so far. You could feel your body shift farther away in response. You just wanted this one night. Was that too much to ask?
“What’s wrong with you?” they prodded. “Don’t like me?”
You sighed and grabbed your drink, stepping down from your stool and started moving away to one of the tables nearby. “Pick up lines only work when I am drunk.” He seemed to have disappeared then and you sighed and sat down at the table rubbing the back of your neck and playing with the straw again.
You heard the thunk of the drinks hitting the table and knew what was happening almost immediately as you looked up. “Have a few drinks and we’ll try those lines again.” They had a smirk on their face as if they thought this was actually going to work.
You stood up. “Let’s make this even clearer. The answer is no. Leave me alone.” you turned to leave and felt a hand grab the back of your arm. You turned your head to look at them.
“Come on, one drink with me won’t hurt.” He gently pulled you towards the table again.
“Well you are a prick so I’m sure it would. Also, I’m with someone so-” You yanked your arm out of their grasp, hands balling into fists to get ready for his next refusal of rejection. Not that it got the chance to speak before a different hand wound its way over your fist. You went to pull away but it squeezed it slightly tighter for a second.
“Hey sweetheart, are they bothering you?” a voice sounded from above you. You looked up, his frame slightly taller than yours, and he winked before turning back to the other admirer of the evening. His slight smile faded as soon as he looked at them.
“You need to back off.” He took a small step in front of you, moving his white bangs out of his face as he tilted his head slightly to the side as if he was trying to understand the thing in front of him.
“She only had a problem when she knew you would be here.” The alien took a step forward.
That was your breaking point. You took a step forwards bending down slightly to use surprise in your favor. You grabbed its leg, the gravity on this planet taking over and bringing them to the ground. You put your knee on its back, grabbing is moderately scaly feeling hand and pinning its arm behind them. “I warned you. He warned. Even your mother freaking warned you. Next time when someone says no. Maybe you should listen.”
You weren’t sure who this was but apparently, they were important, either that or so many people were hyped up on space alcohol that a fight seemed like a good idea at any juncture. Someone was lifting you off of them and then there was a force, almost hot, knocking your head to the side. Adrenaline pumped through your veins, numbing whatever shiner you would be sporting the next morning.
Next thing you knew the person who hit you was on the ground, courtesy of the boy currently pretending to be your boyfriend. You were suddenly glad that you only had gotten the opportunity to have a few sips. Everyone else’s blows seemed to almost be sluggish.
“We started with one fight and now we have seven. You have no chill!” The man with the black and white hair shouted back, apparently also taking on a fight or two of his own.
You rolled your eyes. “This is not my fault. You invited yourself to this.”
And as soon as the fight began it was over, the barkeep breaking it up. You were both shoved outside. The door was locked behind you with a click that seemed to resonate through the quiet street. You looked up at the figure standing next to you.
“I didn’t get a name, sweetheart.” you gently mocked.
“Shiro.” He offered out his hand which you politely shook and then gave another small smile. “I don’t know yours either.”
“Y/N.” you smiled. “Hey, I didn’t actually finish my drink. Want to see if we can find another place and I can get you one too?”
He paused as if he was contemplating the possible consequences of doing this. “I’d like that.”

Not A Walk In The Park (Half-Dog!ShiroxReader)
A/N: This fic is based on a conversation between Mod Shiro and I! Sorry if things seem a bit off of OOC, this is just based on those conversations and our little version of Dog!Shiro and Reader-Chan is based off her personality as well. And this is a bit shorter but I hope you guys enjoy it anyways <3 -Mod Pidge)
Shiro was a very unique person, not just because of the fact that Shiro was the Black Paladin, but because Shiro was half Siberian Husky, a fact that Shiro had struggled with and been embarrassed about his entire life. Hardly anyone took the man seriously because of the dog ears and tail he had, and it was rather frustrating. He always had to work twice as hard to get the same amount of respect that a normal human would get.
His time as a Galra prisoner was one of the only times he was considered and treated no differently, and that fact broke him. The only place he hadn't been treated like a freak, was also the place where he had endured a year of torture and pain. The only reason he wasn't treated any differently, was because of the fact that everyone else there was just as weird and as abnormal as him.
When he finally escaped and crashed at the Garrison to try to warn everyone, once again, he wasn't taken seriously. Even after the group of people who would soon become the rest of the paladins with him broke him out, he still felt judged. He still felt like they all secretly would talk about him behind his back, and make fun of the way his ears and tail looked. There was only one person that Shiro was certain never acted any differently around him than a normal person, (Y/N).
(Y/N) never once questioned his appearance, or why he had ears. She treated him normally, and acted like they weren't even there. It made Shiro happy, that he didn't have to start his first conversation with someone explaining why he had ears. Granted, sometimes those people meant well and would later become friends, it was rather tiresome to have to answer it every time he met someone. (Y/N) never made any jokes about him, never questioned any of his habits. It made his heart feel warm inside. That he finally had found someone who weren’t his imprisoners that treated him normally.
Over time, Shiro and (Y/N) had grown close, the girl always seemed to be there for Shiro whenever he felt down or needed help and comfort. (Y/N) saw the pieces and parts of Shiro that he hid to not worry anyone. In return, Shiro was always there for her. He was very protective of her, because she deserved nothing but happiness and love in his mind.
Love. That was a strange thing to say. Did Shiro love (Y/N)? He wasn't sure. Love was always out of the list of possibilities for Shiro. He'd never stopped to consider it. Never stopped to think about if he ever did fall in love. As a result, he wasn't sure what these feelings he had for her were. He could try to talk to some of the other paladins, but that would embarrass him. Everyone else in the group was all younger than him, and they already all secretly judged his weird habits and ways enough. He didn't need this to top it.
(Y/N) smiled and chuckled as she looked up from her book to find Shiro’s head now in her lap, his tail wagging softly further down the couch,
“Hey Shiro. How are you?” She asked,
“Hmmm doing pretty good. I missed you. Sorry if I disrupted your reading I just wanted to be near you.” He admitted as (Y/N) smiled,
“You didn't disrupt anything. I’ll always have time for you.”
“You mean that?” He asked, causing (Y/N) to nod and his tail to start wagging more, “Thanks (Y/N)! Can you actually do me a favor?”
“Of course Shiro. What is it?” She questioned, as the man’s face grew more red,
“W-Well. I know it sounds silly but...can you scratch behind my ears?? I can’t get an itch that's there.” He admitted, causing (Y/N) to smile as she started to rub and scratch behind his ears,
“Like that?”
“Oooo yes that feels good!” Shiro called, starting to get more excited.
Secretly, on the inside, (Y/N) felt very touched. She knew that Shiro never let anyone touch his ears or tail, and the fact he was trusting her made her very warm inside. She wasn't sure what this feeling necessarily was, but every time she got near him her heart started to pound louder. Lance had tried to advise her that she was falling in love with Shiro, but she still wasn't sure, Until this moment. Until she saw his face on her lap, beaming with happiness.
“H-Hey Shiro?” She asked, causing the man to tilt his head adorably,
“Hmm?”
“M-May I kiss you??” She asked nervously, causing Shiro to smile, and without responding he pounced on her, kissing her. After a few moments, both pulled away with a smile,
“I really enjoyed that!” Shiro called out with a smile, causing (Y/N) to blush softly as she nodded,
“Y-Yeah I did too.”
“Wanna kiss again then give me a belly rub??” He asked, causing (Y/N) to giggle and nod, before kissing him again. He was a dork at times, but now he was her dork.

I'm just saying I love your shiroxreader where the reader swore a lot because that's me on a daily basis and I get yelled by family and friends to calm my language so thank you
I have a pretty bad potty mouth when I’m with my friends but I usually keep it under wraps with my family. I’m glad you liked it! @memento-scribet is partially to blame for giving me this idea.

Tbh there is more I could do and would like to do with this so if you’re not satisfied with it, please message me, call me dumb, and then tell me to fix it!
Fandom: Voltron Legendary Defender
Pairing: Shiro x Fem!Reader
Genre: Professor!AU, Cofee Shop!AU, Slice of Life
Word Count: 5,774
Warnings: Nothing except for my shitty writing haha
You were in your senior year of college. You were filled with both excitement and dread at the start of the new year. You were one step closer to graduation, to the real world. However, you weren’t particularly fond of the process that it’s going to take to get there. You looked down at your travel mug and sighed wistfully.
“Looks like you’re going to be my best friend, yet again, dear coffee.”
“Oi! What about me?” You turned your head to smile at your actual best friend, as well as your roommate, sitting in the passenger seat of your car.
“I thought it was common knowledge that you were my second best friend.” You said teasingly. Your friend let out a sarcastic huff as you both stepped out of the car.
“I hate you.” She said with a fake pout. You shook your head with a smile. Your best friend has always been a very bubbly and bright person. And she was also your dorm roommate in freshman year. You two have been inseparable since.
“I’m kidding, you know I love you.” You replied. Your friend smiled brightly before slipping her arm through yours as you two headed off to your campus side by side.
“You excited for senior year?” She asked.
“My liver isn’t.” You said with a laugh. Your friend laughed as well. “And neither is my mentality. I will genuinely be surprised if I haven’t completely lost it by finals.” Your friend nodded in agreement as you two continued walking.
“You know what classes you have?” She asked. You shrugged.
“You know, same old. Also mostly the same professors.” You responded before you remembered something. “Although, I do have a new Japanese teacher this year. I don’t recognize his name so he’s probably new in general as well.” Your friend looked at you curiously.
“Really? What’s his name?”
“It was… Shirogane, I think?” Your friend stopped dead in her tracks, causing you to stop abruptly as well. “What?” You asked.
“You got Shirogane?” She asked back. You raised an eyebrow.
“That’s what I just said. Unless there’s another new Japanese teacher that I’m unaware of.” You responded. You were very confused at your friend’s reaction. You were snapped out of your thoughts when you felt your friend tightly grab on to your arm and jump up and down in excitement.
“Oh, my god! You got Shirogane! Fresh out of college, muscle man Shirogane!” A bewildered look appeared on your face.
“I’m sorry, what?” Muscle man? You thought quizzically. “Wait, hold on, is there something that I’m missing?” You managed you get your friend to stop jumping but she was still bouncing on her toes as she looked at you excitedly.
“Well, I heard from a few people, who took a summer course, about him.” Your friend explained. “He’s super hot. And ripped to the fucking gods.” A sarcastic smile spread upon your lips.
“Good for him.” You responded, uninterested. Your friend gaped at your response.
“How could you not be excited! You get to be in the presence of a sexy Japanese man!” You rolled your eyes.
“Oh, my god, you colossal weeb.” You said jokingly. She giggled lightly. You two continued to chat before parting ways, making a promise to meet up for lunch and after classes. You looked down at your schedule and headed off to your first class.
It was late in the afternoon and your final class of the day. You took another peek at your schedule and noticed that you had your Japanese class. You had to admit, you were curious to see this popular teacher of yours. Everyone you had talked to today told you more or less what your friend had told you this morning. He was the hot topic amongst the students. However, you had yet to see what it was that made them talk. You entered your class only to find that your professor was not there yet. You walked over to sit at one of the front row seats as you heard the excited chatter of students who were talking about none other than Professor Shirogane. You bent down to open your bag and pull out your supplies and lay them in front of you. Your pen fell to the ground and you bent back down to retrieve it when the door opened.
“Ko’nichiwa minasan.” You heard someone say in a deep baritone.
“Ko’nichiwa sensei.” The class responded by reflex.
“Ko’nichiwa sensei.” You said in a strained voice as you reached for your fallen pen. You grabbed ahold of your pen and smiled slightly in triumph as you quickly sat back up and brushed the hair out of your face with your free hand. You looked up in front of you and your eyes widened slightly in shock. What your friend had said was an understatement. The man was gorgeous. He had cropped black hair. Dark grey eyes that held fragments of silver was hidden behind a thick pair of black rectangle glasses. He had strong, handsome features and a sharp jawline. Your friend, however, was correct in one thing. The man, was in fact, “ripped to the fucking gods”. Standing, at the very least, 6’3, he had broad shoulders, a lean waist, and muscular arms that were hidden under his sweater vest. He looked quite young. Probably in his mid-twenties, give or take. As if he could feel your eyes on him, his eyes met yours but you quickly averted them with a small blush. Nope, not today, Y/N! He’s your teacher for christ’s sake! You mentally chided yourself. You looked back up to see Professor Shirogane walk up to the board. He quickly wrote his name in Kanji. You couldn’t help but appreciate his neat calligraphy. He turned back around and faced the class with a smile.
“Most of you probably don’t know who I am. My name is Takashi Shirogane. You can call me Professor Shirogane, Professor Shiro, Shirogane Sensei, and so on. It’s up to you.”
“Hai.” The class responded. Professor Shiro smiled again and started the class.
You walked out of your classroom only to be met face to face with your best friend. One look at your face had her smiling smugly.
“I knew it.” She said teasingly. You had a pretty good guess at to what she was referring to and you rolled your eyes.
“Shut up.” You mumbled. You started to walk away from her but she caught up to you quickly.
“You owe me ten bucks!” She said with a smile. You stopped walking and twirled your head towards her.
“What?” You asked, surprised. “We didn’t even bet anything!” Your friend shrugged nonchalantly.
“I know. But I feel like I deserve it.” You scoffed and rolled your eyes yet again. You opened your mouth to retort but you were cut short by a deep voice behind you.
“Excuse me. Miss…. Y/N? Correct?” You turned around and locked eyes with Professor Shirogane. You were too caught up in his gaze to notice your friend silently gaping beside you.
“Y-yes?” You asked hesitantly. Professor Shiro held up a notebook.
“I believe you dropped this.” He said. Your eyes widened slightly in recognition at your notebook. You quickly grabbed it from his hands, your fingers brushing gently against each other. You jumped slightly at the contact before composing yourself.
“Oh! Yes, thank you.” You replied with a small smile. He returned it.
“Don’t mention it.” He responded. You stared at him in silence, not knowing what to say, before your friend coughed quietly, reminding you of her presence. Professor Shirogane quickly cleared his throat. “So I’ll see you next class?” He asked.
“Yup.” You squeaked. Professor Shirogane smiled again before giving a small wave and walking away in the opposite direction. You continued to watch him before your friend brought you back to reality.
“God, I would give him full permission to do whatever the fuck he wants with me.” You snapped your head to face her with a shocked expression on your face.
“I thought you were crushing on that pizza delivery girl?” You asked. She looked at you and grinned mischievously.
“Your point?” She asked. Your friend sighed dreamily before continuing. “It’s moments like these that I’m so glad I’m pan.” She said with a grin. You couldn’t help snort before you two started to laugh at her words as you walked away from your class.
You two walked towards your car. You opened the door and dropped your bag at the back seat.
“You sure you can walk home? I don’t mind dropping you off at the apartment first.” You said.
“It’s fine. I’m a big girl, don’t worry!” You smiled.
“Alright.”
“Oh, by the way, I was thinking that we could go watch that movie tomorrow?” Your friend asked. You got in the car and smiled at her apologetically.
“Sorry. Can’t. I have work tomorrow. And every day this week.” Your friend groaned.
“Boring.” You chuckled in amusement.
“How about this weekend?” You asked. Your friend gave you a smug grin in response.
“Sorry. Can’t.” She said in a mocking tone. “Cause I’ve got a hot date on Saturday.” You snorted.
“Oh really? Who?” She sent you a knowing look and your jaw dropped. “No! Really? The pizza girl said yes?” She casually flicked her hair over her shoulder.
“What can I say? I have a way with the ladies.” You rolled your eyes before returning to the more important matters.
“Why did you just tell me this now? And also how did you ask? You have to tell me everything after you get back from the date! And remember, text me three flower emojis if you want me to get you out of there. Or, you know, if she end’s up being a madwoman and kidnaps you and you need to send me a non-suspicious text so that I can save your ass.” You said teasingly. She giggled in response before she bent down and gave you a small kiss on the cheek.
“Yes, mom.” She said sarcastically. You decided to play along.
“And be back home by eleven, young lady! No drinks or drugs, you hear?” You put on a mock-serious face.
“Yeah, yeah. Now go on and get to work!” She ushered you away with one final hug before you got into your car and drove off.
The familiar scent of coffee filled your nostrils as you entered the cafe. You had barely even set a foot into the door when you heard a voice from the cash register.
“Your four minutes late.” You heard your boss said gruffly. You glanced her way and smiled at her.
“Hello to you, too, Judy.” You responded. Judy rolled her eyes with a hidden grin.
Judy was basically an aunt to you. You two met in your freshman year when you were looking for a job when you found a little, hole-in-the-wall cafe with a help wanted sign. You were met with a tough-looking woman whose aesthetic was the exact opposite of the cute little cafe. Her hair was cut short with little, black, curls tied up by a red bandana. Her ears were covered in piercings as well as a stud on her nose while basically her entire body was inked. She reminded you of one of those punk, pin-up girls you saw on Tumblr and right then and there, you decided that you were going to get that job no matter what.
As you walked passed the cash register, Judy tossed you your apron that you caught with ease and tied it around your waist as you took her place at the cash register.
“It’s about damn time.” She muttered sarcastically.
“I apologize, Judy. It must have been so hard those four minutes, especially with the rush!” You said as you gestured to the small handful of people who was sipping away at their coffee. She affectionately punched your shoulder.
“So how was Mark today?” She asked, referring to one of your professors, as well as her husband.
“He didn’t spill anything on himself today.” Judy beamed in amusement.
“I’m so proud. Speak of the devil.” Her eyes brightened at the jingle of the door as her husband walked in. Your professor was, like the cafe, the exact opposite of Judy. While Judy was loud and in charge, he was shy and clumsy. He looked exactly like a stereotypical professor with his round-rimmed glasses and short, blond hair. Usually messy at the end of the day from running his hands through it so much. He was, what one could say, quietly handsome.
Unlike Professor Shiro- No! Nope! Again, He’s your teacher! You quickly, mentally, shook your head from your thoughts.
He was neither covered in piercings nor tattoos. (Although Judy said they have matching ones on their asses from when they were both shit-faced on their honeymoon. Just the thought of it made you snort silently.)
Judy walked around the cash register to welcome her husband with a small peck.
“Hey, babe.” She purred. Marks face immediately flushed red at the name.
“H-hey, Judy.” He glanced at you and waved. “Hey Y/N.” You waved back with a smile.
“Hey, Mark.” Judy turned to face you.
“It’s date night tonight. You don’t mind watching the cafe by yourself, do you?”
“Judy, don’t you trust me?” Judy grinned.
“Not at all.” You laughed as you shooed them away.
“Go, I got this. Have fun on your date!”
“We will!” Mark replied as he laced his fingers with Judy’s. They both walked off with a giggle and you watched them happily, musing on how cute they were.
A few hours had passed and the sun was starting to set, bathing the cafe in a warm yellow light. One by one the customers would leave only to be replaced by a few more. You were staring off into space when you heard the familiar jingle of the bell. You quickly jumped up and welcomed the customer a little too enthusiastically.
“Good evening! Welcome to Espresso Yoursel-” You cut yourself off in shock at the person who had walked in. Professor Shiro took in the small cafe with interest before his eyes landed on you and flickered in recognition. He walked up to you with a smile.
“Good evening, Miss Y/N. I didn’t know you worked here. Although to be fair, I only found out about this place’s existence today.” You giggled nervously, trying to calm your racing heart.
“Haha, yup! What a coincidence. It’s a hole-in-the-wall but they have the best coffee in the city!” You said with forced enthusiasm and you cringed inwardly at your behavior. Professor Shiro grinned.
“I’ll take you up on that challenge.” He glanced up at the menu above your head for a few seconds before deciding on what he was going to order. A mischievous look flickered in his eyes before he spoke. “I think I’ll have an Americano, black.” You blinked rapidly a few times before you registered that he was speaking to you in Japanese.
“Uh, why are you speaking to me in Japanese, sir?” He shrugged.
“It’s good practice.” He replied. Continuing in Japanese. You raised an eyebrow in slight amusement before deciding to go along with it, forgetting your nervousness from before.
“And would you like sugar with that Americano?” You responded in Japanese.
“Sure, not a lot, though.” You picked up an empty coffee cup and a pen.
“And what name would you like to be called?”
“Shiro is fine. Do you think you can write that in kanji?” He asked with a challenging stare. You smirked.
“Of course I can.” You quickly wrote down his name and showed it to him. He nodded approvingly and you raised your chin in triumph. You quickly finished preparing his coffee and handed it to him. His fingers brushed a bit against yours and you jumped slightly at the contact.
“Thanks.” He took a small sip and his eyes widened in slight surprise. “Wow, you weren’t wrong! This is probably the best coffee I’ve ever had.” You smiled.
“Of course I am.” He chuckled lightly before handing you the money. He raised the coffee cup slightly.
“I will enjoy this.” He said before walking off to sit at one of the small tables, pulling out his laptop and working quietly. He stayed there for the rest of the evening and you couldn’t help but watch him work every once in a while.
A few weeks had passed since then, and Professor Shiro showed up every day, without fail. Ordering a single black Americano and spending the rest of the afternoon working at one of the tables, be it answering emails or grading papers. And every day, he had a small conversation with you in Japanese. He even insisted that you just call him Shiro, only outside of class, of course. It had gotten to the point where you looked forward to going to work, just so that you two could talk. After catching yourself staring at him for probably the tenth time, you sighed, defeated.
“Damn.” You muttered. “It’s only been a few weeks and you already have a crush. And on a professor, no less!” You noticed Professor Shiro look up and his gaze met yours. You nervously waved at him before diverting your attention to something else.
You later walked up to the door of your apartment, tired and in need of a shower. You opened the door to be met with the sounds of the TV. You walked into the living room and saw your friend sitting on the couch with a glass of wine while watching Rick and Morty. She glanced at you before returning her attention to the TV.
“Welcome back.” She said.
“Hey.” You muttered as you flopped down on the couch with a sigh. She paused the TV and looked at you.
“Something the matter?” She asked, concerned. You took the wine glass from her hand and finished the remaining contents before refilling it.
“No, I’m fine.” You took another sip of wine before continuing. “I think I have a crush on Professor Shirogane.” You glanced over at your friend. She was, unsurprisingly, gaping at your statement.
“I’m sorry, what?” She exclaimed. You sighed again.
“Yeah, I know. I don’t know how it happened I just found myself constantly thinking about him and looking forward to him coming over to Espresso Yourself and then I was like ‘fuck’.” She nodded sympathetically at your words.
“I understand. I felt the same about Pizza Girl. I gained five pounds just cause I kept ordering pizza in hopes that she would be the one to deliver them.”
“Why are you still calling her Pizza Girl, isn’t she your girlfriend?” She shrugged.
“Yeah, I know. It’s like a pet name now. Anyway, enough about me, what about you? What are you going to do?” You took another sip of wine.
“Deal with it, I guess.” Your friend huffed at your words.
“Come on, now, Y/N! You should go for it!”
“He’s my professor, F/N.”
“And?”
“And it’s… morally wrong!”
“Why? He’s only, like, three years older than you.”
“Yes, but he’s also in charge of my grades and if people found out that we were a thing, they might not only accuse me of sleeping with him to get straight A’s but that he’s taking bribes!”
“You could keep it a secret. Forbidden love is hot.” You immediately burst out laughing at her words, forgetting your stress for a bit.
“You’re… just-” You sighed fondly at your friend. “I love you.”
“I’m taken, sorry.” She said with a grin. You playfully smacked her on the shoulder before grabbing the remote and pressing play.
Months had passed since then and you were already nearing the end of the school year. The chilly weather was starting the lessen as spring arrived. You and Shiro had gotten closer since as you continued your “Japanese practice” and you found yourself falling deeper and deeper for the man, despite trying not to. You were taken out of your thoughts when heard the doorbell jingle and you looked over with a smile as you saw Shiro walk in.
“Hey, Y/N. I’ll have the usual.” Shiro said as soon as he walked in.
“Sure thing.” You quickly prepared his coffee and handed it to him. He pulled out his wallet to pay but you laid a hand over his stopping him. He quickly looked down at your hands with a faint blush before looking up at you, confused. You smiled softly.
“On the house.”
“But-”
“Also this.” You interrupted as you pulled out a slice of chocolate cake from the dessert stand. “Happy birthday, Shiro.” He looked at the cake then back at you again even more confused.
“How did you know that it’s my birthday?” You shrugged.
“Mark told me.” His eye twitched slightly.
“Who’s Mark?”
“Oh, right. I meant Professor Hendricks.” His brows furrowed a bit and his jaw was slightly clenched.
“Why… why are you on a first-name basis with Professor Hendricks?” He asked. He felt oddly nervous for some reason and even a bit jealous, though he denied it.
“Cause his wife is my boss.” You responded as you gestured to Judy who was wiping down one of the tables. He looked over at Judy and his eyes widened surprise.
“That’s…”
“Yeah.”
“Wow.”
“Yeah.”
“Good for him.”
“Yeah.” He rolled his eyes at your repeated responses and you grinned back.
“Still, I feel like I should pay for this.”
“Nope, it’s on the house.” He sighed desperately.
“At least the coffee.”
“I said no- Hey, Judy!” You called out, reverting to English. She looked up from her cleaning and faced her attention towards you. You pointed at Shiro with your thumb. “Tell Shiro that the coffee and the cake are both on the house because it’s his birthday.” She shrugged and turned to Shiro.
“It’s on the house.” She then returned to cleaning and you grinned at him in triumph.
“Judy’s word is law around here.” Shiro sighed and pulled out his wallet again.
“I literally just said-”
“Don’t worry, I’m not paying for the coffee or the cake. It’s just a tip.” You rolled your eyes and relented letting him hand you the money. “I need to get going now, I have papers to grade. Thanks for the coffee and the cake.” He said as he quickly walked out the door.
“But you usually grade them here…” You called after him. But it was too late and he was already long gone. You glanced down at the money in your hand and your eyes widened in shock and you had to force yourself to suppress a smile. His tip consisted of the price for the coffee and the cake, as well as a few extra dollars. You rolled your eyes as you looked out the door where Shiro was once was. “Clever move, Shirogane.”
It was late. Your final customer had just walked out into the rainy night as you sighed, slightly disappointed. It was your turn to close up shop but you still had ten minutes till closing time so you decided to wait it out.
Shiro’s always here after school… did something happen? You thought. You immediately shook your head. Well, it’s not like he has to be here every day. You sighed softly. Still, it feels weird that he didn’t come today. You checked your watch and noticed that there were only three minutes left before you had to close. You decided to give up and sighed again in defeat. You started heading for the door when you heard a loud jingle of the bell. You quickly looked at the door to see Shiro, soaking wet from the rain and panting slightly. He took a few more deep breaths before he looked at you with a grin.
“I still have…” He glanced down at his watch then back up to you with a charming smile. “two minutes, right?” You stared at him in stunned silence for a few seconds before you burst out laughing.
“Yeah. Yeah, you still have time. The usual, right?” You asked as you walked towards the coffee machine. You heard him snort from behind.
“Obviously.” You smiled to yourself in response while you continued to make him a cup of coffee. Not long after, you handed it to him with a grin.
“I must say, I’m surprised. For a second there I thought you were gonna be a no-show.” He rolled his eyes as he took the cup from your hand.
“Meetings.” He explained. “Ran late.” He took a sip of his coffee. A confused look appeared on his face. He looked up at you with a raised eyebrow. “Is this decaf?” He asked.
“It’s nearly midnight, Shiro. Plus, we need to start working on your caffeine addiction.” You added playfully.
“I have nothing of the sort.” He said as he continued to drink. You leaned over the counter and rested your chin on your head.
“Says the man who ran in the pouring rain late at night just to get his daily cup of coffee.” He rolled his eyes yet again.
“That's just because I’m a loyal customer to Espresso Yourself. And for your information, I drove here. It’s just that the parking lot is very far away from here.” You giggled softly.
“The fact that you said that Espresso Yourself with a straight face makes me want loose respect for you.” He chuckled in response before downing the last bits of his coffee and pulling out his wallet to pay.
“Well, thanks for the coffee. I’ll see you next week in class?” He asked. You smiled as you put the money in the register.
“You know it.” You replied. He grinned. He started to head for the door before he stopped abruptly and turned around hesitantly.
“You said that F/N was out of town for the week, right?”
“Yeah, she’s coming back tomorrow.”
“Isn’t she using your car?”
“Yup.” You replied. He looked back out into the rain before looking back at you.
“Do you… need a ride home?” He asked. You shook your head politely, trying to ignore your skipped heartbeat.
“I’m good, thanks. I’ll just call an Ub-” You were cut off short by the shriek of lightning. You jumped slightly in surprise. It took you a second to register that the lights were off as well. “Christ.” You muttered, reverting to English.
You pulled out your phone and turned on the flashlight. You walked over to the light switch and tried to turn it on a few times, confirming your thoughts. You sighed in annoyance before a thought immediately popped into your head. “Oh shit.” You said before you dashed for the door. You tried to pull it open but it wouldn’t budge.
“Are we locked in?” You heard Shiro ask from behind. You sighed again and rested your forehead against the door in defeat.
“Yup. These doors lock electronically.” You looked at your phone screen only to see it fade out along with the flashlight. “Aaaaand my phone just died. Great.” You turned to look back at Shiro. “Can I borrow yours?” He shrugged apologetically.
“I left it in the car.”
“Well, then I guess we’re stuck here for the time being.” You walked towards the lounging area and flopped down on one of the couches. Shiro soon followed and sat down next to you.
You both sat in silence, the only sounds that were heard were the heavy raindrops that fell against the building and the occasional clap of thunder. You fiddled with the hem of your apron, keeping your hands busy as you tried to distract yourself from the man who was sitting only a few inches away from you on the small couch. Shiro clicked his tongue a few times awkwardly before finally deciding to speak up.
“So… how long do you think the storm will last?” You continued to fiddle with your apron.
“Uh, I’m not sure.” You heard Shiro let out a sigh.
“Right.” You both fell silent, unsure of how to keep the conversation going.
Why is this so awkward? You mentally groaned. Things were fine a few minutes ago. “So, um…” You spoke up after a few more minutes of silence. “Why did you decide to be a professor?”
“Why?” He repeated.
“Yeah, I mean… you’re young, you graduated college yourself not too long ago. What made you decide that you wanted to teach?”
“Oh, well… to be honest, it’s because of my father.”
“Your father?” He nodded.
“My father was a professor. He went to Japan to teach English and that’s where he met my mother.” You stayed silent, listening to his words. “When she told him that she was pregnant, however, he immediately left. Turns out, he was having an affair with my mother while he had his own family back in Sweden.
“I’m sorry to hear that.” You said. He shrugged.
“I… well I planned to become a professor so that I could meet him and just… ask him why.” He sighed. “I had found out that he recently became the dean of a university in Sweden. I applied for the job and got accepted… but… I just couldn’t do it. I was a coward.”
“No, you weren’t.” You immediately replied. He looked at you, a little shocked at the forcefulness of your words. “It’s not your fault that you couldn’t. The real coward in this story is him. He left you and your mother because he couldn't handle his responsibilities. He doesn’t deserve your time or energy. And the fact that you even considered giving it to him makes you brave.” Shiro smiled gratefully at your words.
“Thanks, Y/N.” You smiled back at him and nodded.
Suddenly, ripping you from your thoughts, another abrupt shriek of lighting occurred, temporarily illuminating the cafe in a blinding white light, causing you and Shiro to both jump instinctively closer to each other. You both felt each other’s hands brush against the other and quickly pulled away.
“A-ah, sorry about that,” He stuttered.
“It’s fine…” You mumbled, hating the loss of warmth that you felt when you pulled away. You both continued to sit in silence, though neither of you moved back to your original positions. If you leaned slightly, you could feel Shiro’s warmth radiate off of his body. Your mind was spinning with multiple questions at what had just happened. What you did know, however, was that it felt strangely right to hold his hand. That you wanted to do it again. Before you even realized it, you were inching your hand closer to his and landed softly on top of his hand. He flinched slightly at the contact and you finally realized what you had done.
“I-I’m sorry! I wasn’t thinking. I-” You weren’t able to finish your sentence when you felt Shiro grab on to your hand as well and squeeze it slightly when you tried to pull away. You hesitantly looked down at your connected hands before looking up to be met with Shiro’s gaze. His face only a few centimeters away from yours. You stared back at him silently, unsure of what to do. His hot breath tickled your skin as he drew himself closer, resting his free hand against your cheek.
“I… um…” He trailed off. He glanced down at your lips for a split second before sighing. “Ah, to hell with it.” He muttered before planting his lips against yours. You were stunned still for a second before leaning into the kiss. You reached your arms up to wrap it around his neck, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss. Your mind was blank except for the only phrase that repeated in your head.
‘Holy shit.’
Shiro wrapped his free arm around your waist, bringing you closer to the point where you were basically sitting on his lap as he parted your lips with his tongue and tangled it with yours. You let out a soft moan that was swallowed by his kisses. He trailed his lips down to your jaw, then your neck, before returning them to your moth. You both didn’t even realize that the lights had come back on until you eventually parted for a breath.
The cafe lights woke you from your haze and you looked down and realized what position you were in. You quickly got off of his lap and smoothed down your apron.
“Oh my god, this is insane! We shouldn’t have done this! You’re my professor! This- we… I-” Shiro stood up and faced you, lightly placing his thumb over your lips. You looked up at him, your face flushed and your breathing still ragged from your previous activities.
“Do you… do you regret it?” He asked. You opened your mouth to speak but no sound came out. You saw the anxiety in his eyes and you sighed.
“…No… no, I don’t.” You averted your gaze from his. “But you’re my professor and I’m your student. If people found out…” You trailed off.
“Who cares about what they say?” He placed his hand underneath your chin and directed your face so that you were facing him. His face was also heavily flushed. “I… I care about you, Y/N. A lot. I… I think that - I know that - I’m falling for you. Hard.” You gasped silently at his words as you felt your heart expand with joy. “You were the first friend that I made here. Every day I come here, hoping that you have a shift, just so that I can talk to you. And when you don’t I get disappointed. And when I walk into class and I see you sitting there, I immediately feel better. At first, I wanted to ignore these feelings because, as you said, you’re my student. But I… I want to be with you.”
“… We could get caught. You could get fired.” You whispered. He smiled as he tucked a lock of hair behind your ear.
“I’m willing to take that risk.” Finally, you smiled as well as you both leaned in for another, gentler kiss. You both regretfully parted from each other before Shiro reached down for your hand. “Come on, I’ll drive you home.” You smiled again and nodded, both of you heading out the door hand in hand.
A/N: Yup... so anyway I’m back-ish? I have some other fics that I’m done with but I’m gonna upload them every two weeks just so that it’s spaced out and I won’t stress lol. Again, I’m sorry for making you wait a year @yasaeng-hwa and like I know that this was a college au thing but there’s barely any mention of college haha it’s mostly a coffee shop au. So again, apologies.

67, 85, 99 shiroxreader
Pairing: Shiro/Reader
Warnings: implied torture, captured by Galra
99. Be brave sweetheart
67. I’m Afraid,
85. If you die I’m gonna kill you
A/N: Lol this is really terrible Shiro angst but I’m really happy I got to write it. It didn’t turn out like I wanted but I figured I should give you guys something!
You couldn’t help shaking as you waited in the crowded cell. Your throat was so choked with smothered tears you could almost feel your heartbeat in it. That had to be where the saying “heart in your throat” came from. Too many scenarios ran through your head. The images of what Shiro had looked like last night were enough to set you on edge. They took him away hours ago.
It had only been a week and yesterday they started the torture. You weren’t sure what they were doing to him. All you knew is he came back bruised and bloodied. He wouldn’t say what they did, only that they wanted to know where the black lion was. He seemed to be holding it together last night, eventually falling into a fitful sleep only to be woken up what seemed like minutes later to be dragged out again.
Today it was worse. Maybe it was just the added day of inflicted injury or maybe they upped their ante but he couldn’t even hold himself upright as they threw him back into the cell.
You rushed forward as he managed to crawl towards a wall, barely propping himself up. He gave you a half smile and then winced as you kneeled in front of him, hands cradling his face, fluttering here and there not knowing what to do to make it better.
“Hey Y/N” His hand caught yours, “I’m fine. Are you okay?” His hand wiped away some tears you didn’t realize had been falling off your cheeks.
You nodded, shifting against the wall next to him, and allowing his head to flop oh your shoulder. “I’m okay.”
You could almost hear him rolling his eyes, “You’re shaking.”
“Sorry. I’m just scared.” you hand found its way into his soft, mildly sweaty dark strands.
He sighed. “We will be okay. I’m sure everyone is already on their way to getting us back.”
“I’m not worried about that.” Shiro made a small questioning noise and you continued “I’m worried they are going to end up killing you.”
Shiro struggled to face you. His dark gray eyes meeting yours. “I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn’t happen. We are both going to make it out of here okay?”
You gave him a small smile. “I know.” he shifted back into his previous position weight leaning against you. “If you died I would kill you.”
Shiro let out a half-asleep laugh. “Okay Y/N.”  You continued playing with his hair softly until you both fell asleep.
It took you several moments to process the yelling as reality instead of some part of a nightmare. You registered the loss of warmth from Shiro’s body before you processed that it was him yelling.
“-don’t get Y/N.” his frame trying to hold back a Galra soldier outside the cell. He failed, his body flung to the side like a ragdoll.
Rough hands ripped your arm, yanking your body with it up. Your feet barely catching your weight underneath you. Claws dug into the backs of your arms, you didn’t have a choice but to move forwards. Heart pounded, you glanced at Shiro as he struggled against the grip of another soldier.
“Take them both.” a bored female voice sounded behind them.
“No! Leave them behind! Please!” Shiro was close to begging, straining to get closer to you as they dragged down the hall. Your feet only brushed the ground as you stumbled along, struggling to gain any kind of wiggle room out of the soldier’s grasp.
Turn after turns you finally were lead to a room. Shiro was lead out of your eyesight as you were strapped down to a chair. You knew they were talking. The words seemed to far away as you focused in on yourself, desperately trying to get your breathing to slow down.
You knew what you were doing. You were now the leverage. That was their goal. The more you were hurt the more likely Shiro would speak. You knew what you had to do. You weren’t sure how long it continued, or even what they were doing. You could recall someone telling you that you don’t remember the pain. But you were certain you would remember at least part of this.
Your teeth dug into your lips and cheeks as you held in screams. Slight whimpers and tears the only indicator of the pain that you couldn’t help but let to escape. Even those dried up after a little while, your brain deciding to retreat, every feeling too far away. It wasn’t until the second time you passed out were unstrapped down and half dragged back and unceremoniously thrown into the cell.
“Y/N? Y/N!” Shiro pushed through the cell to drop next to your collapsed form. You weren’t sure if it was sleep and food deprivation or the hell you just went through finally catching up but the second Shiro’s arms wrapped around you, you were sobbing. That is how you stayed, this time Shiro’s hands dancing around you, ripping shirts to apply what structure he could to the worst of it, finally settling on trying to play with your hair until you calmed down and passed out for the night.
The next morning you were already waiting, awake. You looked up at Shiro, forced a grin on your face. “Be brave sweetheart. I’m sure everyone will save us soon.” And you said a quick prayer that you were right.

Then a jealous Shiro comes to the rescue\( ̄▽ ̄)/ if not then it’s okay^_^
Words: 2358
 Genre: Angst
Notes: thank you for yourrequest, lovely! I’m so glad you enjoy my writing :) it means theworld to me, truly. I hope you enjoy this! x
***
Truly, you had just wanted to help.
You only needed one more planet to join forces with before youwere all set to go up against Zarkon; one final planet, and you couldfinally start on your journey to protecting the universe, to peace.
But things hadn’t gone that swiftly; of course they hadn’t.Whenever it came to team Voltron, things very rarely went swiftly. There was always bumps in the road, always things to deal withthat went against every plan you had so carefully laid out during themeeting before, but this was different. This was bigger.
And you weren’t entirely sure why you had agreed in the firstplace.
There was a line drawn when it came to how dedicated a personcould be. With Team Voltron, you weren’t entirely sure where thatline began, but you were fairly certain you had crossed it as youfound yourself accepting the marriage proposal being given to you byThantos De Marvita, the prince of the planet you and the others werecurrently trying to persuade to join your side.
The only thing the king wanted was an alliance – apparentlyalliances were organised differently around here.
As soon as Thantos had got down on one knee and was asking foryour hand in a purely political marriage, you felt Shiro stiffenbeside you. He surely thought you were going to decline, that youwould say no and they would move on, find another planet to joinforces with – but god you had all worked so hard up untilthis point. This planet was the one you had been looking towards formonths. It would be a shame to let it slip from your fingers now allbecause you didn’t want to marry the prince.
“I think we’ll take our-” Shiro began, but you cut him offbefore he could finish his sentence.
You stepped forward, placing a firm hand on your boyfriends chestand pushing him behind you. He stumbled in his shock, jaw fallingopen as he watched you take centre stage, watched you take Thantos’hand in your own, giving him a warm smile that was peppered with fearthat only Shiro would truly be able to catch onto.
“I accept,” you said before you could change your mind.
Team Voltron went silent behind you; Pidge’s eyes glaring intothe back of your head, Lance and Hunk both trying to form words butbeing unable to do so with the level of shock currently splinteringthrough them. You didn’t turn back to look at them, simply kept youreyes firm on your new husband as a smile grew on his own face. Heslowly rose, pulling you towards the dais where three sets of throneswere placed – one for the prince, one for the king and one for theking.
Thantos led you towards the dais in question, allowed you to takea seat on the throne that was purely meant for him. You felt as ifyou should have been flattered, perhaps a little flustered that ahandsome prince such as Thantos had wanted you as his wife, and hadeven gone as far as to give up his precious throne to give you someplace to sit.
But you didn’t feel any of that, not whenever you looked down andcould see Shiro staring up at you in shock, his jaw open a little bitwith Keith’s hand placed on his arm to stop him from attacking theroyal family in his angered state.
You wanted to be beside him again. You didn’t belong here, curledup on a throne next to people who wore nothing but jewels, heavycrowns adorning their heads. You were still in your battle gear, stained with dirt and the evidence of battle – you were noprincess. You were to never be queen; it just wouldn’t work out.
You fought the urge to cry, turned away from Shiro before hisgaze could trigger the waterworks you so desperately needed to keepat bay at this moment.
It was a political marriage. The world would be better offbecause of your decision. That was what you had to keep in mind.
  ***
It couldn’t have been more than a few days before Shiro wasappearing back in the palace.
A few days of absolute emotional torture. The royals themselveswere fairly kind, making sure you were comfortable and had everythingyou could need. Talk of the wedding was kept scarce, allowing youtime to settle in, but it still lingered in the back of yourthoughts; soon, you would be walking down the aisle towards a man youdidn’t even know, soon to become the new princess of a planet you hadonly been in for a number of days and knew close to nothing about. What if they had customs, a culture you were unfamiliar to? What ifyou went against everything they believed in because you had yet toeducate yourself on how this planet worked? What if it’s people hatedyou for coming from earth?
They were possibilities, but none of the royals decided to ponderon them. They pretended everything was fine, as if you had been apart of their family for years.
You were called into the throne room on your fourth day, andwasn’t entirely surprised to see Shiro standing in front of the king, queen and Thantos with an angered expression on his face. His jaw wasclenched, and his Bayard was strapped to his side – an odd placefor Shiro to put his weapon, but it seemed he wanted nothing morethan to seem a little bit more threatening today.
You walked up to the dais, half tempted to tell him to go. Gobefore he could mess things up. He shouldn’t have been concentratingon you; the world was in danger. The universe was still yet to besaved, and Zarkon was still yet to be taken down. He had other thingsto worry about.
“Takashi Shirogane,” the king said upon your arrival. “We’vebrought Y/N in. Now please tell us why you are here.”
Shiro scowled, as if being told what to do by a king was irkinghim. He turned to you, addressed you directly; you nearly winced atthe disrespect he was showing towards the royals at this moment intime.
“Y/N. I think it’s time you come back with me. Team Voltronneeds you.”
Thantos spoke before you could. “You’vewasted your time, Paladin. We made a deal. My proposal was accepted, meaning me and Y/N are due to get married. There’s nothing you can doto stop that.”
“There isn’t?” Shiro growled. You had never heard suchroughness in his voice before, and it startled you enough for you tostep forward, raising a hand slowly.
“This doesn’t need to end in a fight,” you said. “We cansort this out like adults. Shiro, this is for the best.”
His eyes snapped to yours. “Are you serious?”
“You can’t concentrate on me right now,” you hissed. “Zarkonis still out there, Shiro. You need to put all your time and energyinto overthrowing him before-”    “And just leave you to rotin this hell hole?” Shiro exclaimed. Thantos growled behind you,and you bunched your shoulders up around your ear as if to block outsuch a violent noise. “Y/N, Team Voltron isn’t the same withoutyou. Even if I left now, we wouldn’t be able to overthrow Zarkonwithout you there – you know that.”
“Y/N isn’t a Paladin of Voltron,” the king pointed out. “Ifyou need an added member of your team to be able to succeed, thenwhat good is having the lions at all?”
   “Did I ask foryour-”
“I’m helping as much as I can from here,” you cutin. “Get Allura to stand in for me, or Coran. Or even someone fromthe Blade. But I’m doing my part here.”
“By marrying some guy you don’t even know?” Shiro exclaimed, and it was at that exact moment you saw the mask slip. It was as ifhis words had finally struck home, made him realise just what wasgoing on around him at this very moment. His smile faded, his handscurling into fists at his side, dangerously close to his Bayard.
You stepped forward again, but Thantos’ hand snapped out, grabbedyou before you could make your way towards the one man you really didlove. His grip was cold, fingers dead against your wrist, and youshivered as you stumbled back towards his throne.
Shiro was no longer pretending to be some tough leader, here tosave the day. When he spoke, his  words were directed at you and youonly, making it feel as if nobody else was in the throne room bar youand him.
“It was meant to be me and you,” he said. “I don’t know ifI’m being selfish right now, but seeing you with somebody else –even if it means making alliances – makes my blood boil, Y/N. Ithought I would be okay since you’re doing it for the greater good, but seeing you hold some other guys hand, knowing you don’t wantthat, makes me – god, it makes me feel sick. I need youbeside me. Voltron is fine on it’s own, but I’m not. I can’tconcentrate knowing you’re locked up here like some damsel indistress, because that’s not what you are – I’ve seen you inbattle. I’ve seen you protect people, put yourself in danger. I’veseen you take out an entire fleet on your own. You’re a soldier, Y/N.Not some princess who can be dressed up and pranced about like a damndoll.”
He spat those final words out towards the royals as if they wereacid. You could only stare at him, trying to fight the tears whichwere flooding to the surface once again; he was right, of course. Youknew he was right. You knew Shiro was right from the moment you hadput on your dress, the moment you had felt such expensive silksgliding over your skin, just how odd they were, how unnatural theywere.
It was only a few days ago you were flying through the stars, protecting the universe using the skills you knew how to use best.
And now you were a princess.
Your mouth felt as if it had been stuffed full of cotton balls, and you were unable to respond to Shiro’s speech. His eyes met yours, begging for you to say something, to agree, but you werestuck. Your mind was in a whirlwind; a whirlwind of realisation, looking down at the man who you had planned to spend your futurewith, comparing it all to where you were now.
The king inhaled sharply behind you, taking you by surprise. “Anentire fleet on her own, you say.”
You whirled around. Thantos did the same, neck nearly snappingwith the speed of it.
“Father, you can’t possibly be taking into consideration whatthis rebel is saying! She’s my fiance! She doesn’t belong on thebattlefield!”
The king didn’t even spare a glance towards his son, insteadkeeping his attention fully on Shiro. “And you believe she is thekey to help saving the universe from Zarkon’s evil, do you?”
Shiro nodded immediately, making you flush. He always managed topraise you more than anyone else, always managed to flatter you andmake it seem like the gods honest truth. “I do.”
“This is ridiculous!” Thantos exclaimed, slamming his fistagainst the arm of his throne. “Y/N, go back to our chambers. Thisisn’t business for you to deal with.”
“Our chambers?”Shiro exclaimed. “You two shared a bed?”
  “Shiro,” youhissed.
Shiro shook his head. “Sorry. I got carried away.”
Theking hummed then, rubbing his chin slowly. You stood by Thantos’ride, ignoring his childlike tantrum and trying to decipher just whatit was the king was thinking in this moment; it had to be somethingbig. He was speaking to Shiro like an old friend, a direct contrastto how he had greeted him when he entered in the first place.
“And if we release her, Zarkon will be defeated?” the kingsaid finally.
Shiro nodded. You stepped forward then, bowed your head.
“That is not a guarantee, Your Highness,” you said. “Shiroputs a lot of faith in my abilities, but Zarkon is strong-”
“And you’re stronger.” The kings words were like an electricwhip being slashed across your skin. Your mouth fell open, theevidence of a sentence playing at your lips but not quite appearingto the public. You were too shocked, his compliment slamming into youat one thousand miles per hour.
That was the last thing you had expected him to say.
The king was nodding now, as if he had finally realised how surehe was of his final decision. “Fine. The engagement will be calledoff, and you will still have my planets alliance. But if you lose toZarkon, she is ours again, do you understand, Takashi Shirogane?”
 Shiro growled. “She isn’t some-”
“Yes!” youexclaimed, bounding down the steps towards Shiro before he could ruinthe one chance you had at freedom. “Yes, that sounds great, YourHighness. Thank you so much!”
And right in front of Thantos, you crashed into Shiro and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, jumping into his grip and hugging him close. It had only been fourdays, but you were overjoyed, suddenly craving the feel of him closeto you again.
Despite his anger, Shiro still managed to laugh, holding you upwith one arm whilst his other hand wound it’s way into your hair, feeling you against him after so long of being apart.
Together, you could defeat Zarkon. Team Voltron was whole again, and you would never have to be apart from them again.

Prompt: HI! Can I get a Shiro x female reader please. The plot will be that they are both actors for Voltron and that they're secretly dating. The whole cast of Voltron went to a convention and a bunch of fans during that convention asked if Shiro is in a relationship. Of course, since both Shiro and his girlfriend keep it low key he didn't respond because his girlfriend inst there. But then he talked to her about it then they revealed it during the convention meet up. All the fans go wild (1) Hey Hey! Can I request a Shiro x Female reader. Both of them are visiting his mother. And Shiro knows about reader and Shiros love for each other (and their married) but both of them are they to tell her news. Me personally, I think Shiros mother was a single mom so it can be like that in the story. So Shiro and reader during the day take his mother out where ever she wants to go. But after lunch, Shiro and reader reveal that reader is pregnant. Shiros mom gets emotional and happy for them. (2) So its about Shiro x Fem reader actor AU and how both of them are a couple and his mother approves of reader. In my opinion I think Shiro's mom was a single mom so can that be included in the story? Anyways since Shiro and reader are back from acting scene for Voltron, Shiro wanted to visit his mother in Japan and he wants to surprise her with something. Of course his mother is exited to see her son and her daughter in law so she clears her schedule to see them. The first week shiro, reader and his mother go out eating and do what ever she wants, becuase shiro and reader respect her and love her. After the first week, Shiro goes out with his mom and tells her that reader is pregnant. His mother is in shock and starts crying joyish tears. Once they get  back home she hugs reader and tell her she happy for them. You can change the ending or whatever but It needs to be cute! THANK YOU (3)
Okay so this was a long-ass prompt and it was requested to me literally months ago. Not even kidding. ANON I’M SORRY! So I think that the person who requested me this was the same who DM’d me to add more detail (The last prompt) and so I just added the two together. If not, I’m sorry whoops. I guess you can request again once I open them. Also, this isn’t the first AU that I was requested but it was the first one I completed WOOT WOOT! *gives self lame high-five* Anyway, enjoy!

“And… cut! That’s a wrap, guys! Great job!”
You heard applause from the staff as you and the rest of the group walked off the set. You had just finished filming the pilot season of Voltron: Legendary Defender that will air on Netflix not long from now. Being advertised on such a huge platform was going to give you a lot of street cred. This was going to be your first big break.
“This is going to be a hit, guys! I just know it!” The director enthusiastically walked up to all of you with a beaming smile on her face. You returned her smile before taking a sip from your water bottle. You noticed your boyfriend, Shiro, walk up to you. You smiled at him as well.
You two had met before briefly during auditions for previous roles but the relationship never went further than that. He was just the “hot dude in auditions” amongst you and your friends. That is until you were both cast for this show. You played as the stowaway engineer while he played as one of the Paladins. You were also each other’s romantic interests. Although, it was only hinted in the first season. And it wasn’t even intentional. Your chemistry was just so great on-screen that everyone agreed it would be a good idea to add a bit of romance to the, otherwise, action-based show. However, what the crew didn’t know, except for the cast who had their suspicions, was that the on-screen chemistry was a direct result of your off-screen chemistry after months of quick glances, flirting, and blushing. Neither of you was entirely sure how it started, you were just glad that it did. You two were just rehearsing a newly added scene between your characters in Shiro’s apartment which then lead to the day ending with the two of you naked and in his bed. You grinned slightly at the memory before locking your gaze with Shiro’s.
“Hey, you.” He said fondly. He had already removed his scar makeup and fake prosthetic, although his white patch of hair was still there.
“Hey.” You replied. You looked at your surroundings to see if anyone was watching before you reached up and planted a quick kiss on his lips. He looked at you amusedly before he grabbed your hand and sneakily brought you two behind the Black Lion prop that hid you from the eyes of others and kissed your lips deeply. You sighed softly as you wrapped your arms around his neck and brought him closer to you. You slowly parted from each other with a small smile and stared lovingly at each other.
“So I was thinking…” He trailed off with a grin.
  “Yes?” You inquired.
“Well, we’ve been dating for a little over a year now…”
“Uh-huh.” You urged him to continue.
“And we’re going to be so busy once the pilot airs…” He said dramatically. You rolled your eyes.
“Get on with it already, Shirogane!” You said teasingly. He let out a quiet chuckle.
“I was thinking, while we’re free before the pilot airs if maybe we could go visit my mom? She’s been dying to meet you.” Your mind went blank for a split-second before it flooded with thoughts. Aside from what Shiro said about his mother being an angel, a part of you was nervous about meeting your boyfriend’s mom for the first time. Although, the bigger part of you couldn’t deny that you were happy Shiro wanted to show such an important part of his life to you. You squashed down your fears of the worst-case scenarios and beamed at him.
`    “I would love to meet your mom, Takashi. I can’t wait.” A breath of relief left Shiro’s lips before he bent down and kissed you once again.
  “That’s great.”
A week had passed since then and you were repacking your suitcase yet again for your trip to visit Shiro’s mother in Japan. You had just closed your suitcase when you heard the door to your bathroom open. You turned around only to be faced with a wet and nude Shiro. The only thing covering him was the towel wrapped around his waist. You didn’t even try to be subtle as you admired your boyfriend’s physique.
God damn, I’m the luckiest woman on earth. You thought.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer,” Shiro said smugly. You only hummed in agreement. Your eyes trailed his form until they rested on the top of his head. His previous white patch of hair now replaced with a black one. Your eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh, my god! What did you do to your hair!?” You asked in shock. Shiro raised an eyebrow in confusion.
  “I dyed it?”
  “But why?” You inquired.
“Because it’s my natural hair color, Y/N.” He stated. You let out a little pout.
“But your floof…” Shiro sighed affectionately before he went up to you and lightly pinched your cheek.
“It’ll come back when we film the next season, don’t worry.” You sighed softly.
“Fine.” You grumbled. Shiro could only chuckle. You turned around to zip up your suitcase. It was then that he realized that you had just finished packing. Shiro wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you to his chest as he rested his chin on your shoulder with a confused pout.
“You just finished? I thought you were halfway done before I got in the shower?” You rubbed the back of your neck sheepishly.
“This is probably the fifth time I’ve repacked, actually.”
  “Why?”
“I don’t know. I guess I’m just nervous about meeting your mom.” You sighed softly and leaned into his embrace. “I don’t want to give a bad first impression. It’s bad enough that I won’t be able to have full conversations with her due to the language barrier.” You averted your gaze from his. You heard him sigh before he gently turned you around to face him. You slowly looked up and met his tender gaze.
“You don’t have to worry about anything, Y/N. She’s going to love you. And you can’t blame yourself for not knowing the language. You weren’t raised in an environment where you had to and she gets that.” He gently rested his forehead against yours. “You’re going to do great and everything is going to be just fine.” You let out a deep breath to calm your nerves before you nodded in agreement.
“Right, you’re right. I got this!” You said enthusiastically. Shiro smirked at your reply and stroked your cheek affectionately.
“That’s my girl. Now come on, we should go to bed. We have an early flight to catch.” You nodded and huddled under your covers as you waited for Shiro to dry himself off and get dressed. He soon joined you in the bed and immediately wrapped his arms around you in another comforting embrace. You snuggled into his hug with a sigh.
  “Night, Kashi.” You whispered.
  “Night.”
It was a little after 4 in the afternoon when your plane finally landed at the Narita Airport. Your nerves once again resurfaced and you even felt a little nauseous from it. You felt a big, warm hand gently wrap around yours. You turned to face Shiro.
“Relax.” He said softly. You slowly nodded your head and forced yourself to calm down.
Relax, Y/N, relax! You’re just meeting his mom, you don’t need to get worked up over this! What’s the worst that could happen? She doesn’t accept our relationship? She makes Shiro choose between us and obviously he has to choose his mother because come on, it’s his mother! Or maybe- You mentally shook your head to stop the pessimistic thoughts from filling your brain. Shiro told you everything was going to be fine, so it’s going to be fine. And besides, Kashi literally talks about how much of a sweetheart she is. Also, since she raised him by herself and he turned out this great, she’s bound to be just as great. You were too caught up in convincing yourself to calm down that you didn’t even realize that you and Shiro had exited the airport and was headed toward the bullet train to Osaka. You two entered the train and found your seats. You looked out the window as the train started to leave to soak in the sights of Japan. You felt Shiro’s hand lace between your fingers and you looked over at your boyfriend who was smiling at you softly.
“We’re really lucky we were able to get here right before the cherry blossom season started in Osaka. I really wanted to show it to you.” You beamed at him.
“Really? I can’t wait! I’ve seen the pictures online and they look so beautiful.” Shiro let out a little chuckle.
“Trust me, the pictures pale in comparison to the real thing.”
“I have no doubts about that.” Shiro hummed softly in agreement and brushed some hair behind your ear.
“I’m really glad that you’re here, Y/N.” You looked into his dark eyes that were filled with love and you gave him a warm smile as you squeezed his hand.
“Me too.” You murmured.  Everything’s going to be fine. You thought.
After a few hours, you finally got off the bullet train and stepped out of the station. You took a deep breath of the slightly chilly air and noticed a hit of salt from the sea. But what was most significant, was the mesmerizing aroma of the street vendors holding various types of delicious foods.
“Everything smells amazing.” You said in wonder to Shiro. He smiled at your reaction in amusement.
“Osaka is quite known for its food. We even have a saying here, ‘kuidaore’. Basically, it means to eat until you drop.”
“Oh, I intend to, don’t worry.” He let out a little snort at your response as he hailed a taxi.
You finally made it to his mother’s house. It was a small two-story house wedged in between two others that faced the beach from a distance. You noticed the laundry that was hanging from the second story balcony and the flowers that decorated the fences and front yard. It looked very homey. You were admiring the exterior of your boyfriend’s childhood home when you heard the front door open. You quickly focused your attention to the petite woman exiting the house and unconsciously straightened your posture.
Shiro’s mother reminded you of him. She might be a bit short and her dark hair might be greying slightly at the roots but she had his warm smile and dark eyes specked with silver that was filled with the same strength. Her hair was tied back and she had an apron wrapped around her waist as a delicious scent came from the house. She was probably preparing dinner when you two got here. She walked up to the two of you, beaming, with her arms spread wide.
“Takashi.” She said lovingly. Her voice shook a little and her eyes were filled with unshed tears.
“Kāsan,” Shiro muttered before he dropped his bag at his feet and quickly walked up to her, engulfing her small frame in a hug. Your heart warmed at the sight of him being reunited with his mother. Her arms were wrapped firmly around his back and she patted it lightly before slowly parting from him. She placed a hand on his cheek with a smile filled with motherly affection before her eyes glanced to you. You again straightened your back as you held your breath.
“Is this her?” She asked, a hint of excitement lacing her voice.
“Yes. This is my girlfriend, Y/N.” He replied looking back at you with a small grin. You only stood there and smiled nervously as you wondered what they were talking about. Shiro’s mother fully detached herself from her son as she walked up to you and cupped your face with both her hands. She tilted your head from side to side as she looked at you with a scrutinizing gaze and you sweating anxiety bullets before she smiled yet again and hugged you firmly.
“Arigatō.” She whispered into your ear. Even though you lacked greatly in your Japanese skills, you were at least able to understand the meaning behind those words. Your body relaxed immediately and you returned the hug. You looked over her shoulder and smiled at your boyfriend who was staring at the two of you lovingly. Eventually, she let go of her embrace before she bent down to grab your luggage.
“Oh, ma’am. That’s fine, really. You don’t need to-” You stopped yourself short, remembering that she didn’t speak English and looked at Shiro with pleading eyes. He looked at you amusedly before he turned to his mother.
“Mom, you don’t have to. Y/N says she can carry it.”
“Nonsense! I’m perfectly fine. You two just had a long trip, you must be exhausted. I just finished dinner. I made your favorite.” His mother didn’t even bother to stop as she continued to walk into her house. Shiro sighed as he glanced at you and shrugged his shoulders.
“She’s stubborn.” He said. You grinned slightly.
“It must run in the family.” Shiro rolled his eyes and muttered for you to shut up before he bent down to grab his luggage and follow his mother into the house. You giggled slightly and moved to follow him before you stopped abruptly at the sudden wave of dizziness that washed over you. You pinched the bridge of your nose and took a deep inhale of air as you tried to steady yourself.
“Y/N, are you okay?” You looked up and saw Shiro standing at the entrance, his mother behind him, both looking at you with concern. You smiled warmly and waved your hand.
“I’m fine, just a little tired. Probably from the lack of sleep.” You reassured. Shiro sighed slightly in relief before he turned around to explain to his mother. She said something back at him while glancing at you and he turned around to translate.
“She said that it’s probably best if you take a nap to regain some energy.” You shook your head softly and looked at her gratefully.
“I’m fine, really. Thank you for your concern. I’ll regain energy from eating your food. It smells delicious.” You smiled gratefully at his mother. Shiro smiled as well while translating for you. You grinned at the moment where you assumed Shiro was complimenting your mother’s food for you when you noticed her raise her head in pride. Shiro’s mother spoke again with a grin as she entered the house and you and Shiro followed. “What’d she say?” You asked as you caught up to him. He glanced at you and smirked.
  “‘Damn right.’”
“The food was delicious- uh, babe, how do you say that in Japanese?” You said quietly, reminding yourself, once again, of the language barrier.
  “Oishī” He whispered back.
“Right, yes. Oishī, Shū…tome?” You said hesitantly, glancing at Shiro for confirmation that you said mother-in-law (after his mother insisted) correctly. He nodded at you with a smile and you returned it. Of course, the two of you weren’t married, yet. Let alone, engaged. But you couldn’t deny that you have been thinking about it recently. You were taken away from your thoughts and hopes for the future when you noticed Shiro’s mother stand up and begin to pick up the empty dishes. “Shūtome, I can take that-” You stood up quickly and stopped yourself mid-sentence when another wave of nausea washed over you. You leaned against your chair slightly and pinched the bridge of your nose.
“Y/N!” Shiro quickly stood up and rested his hand on your forehead. “You’re a little sweaty, are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine. I guess I just stood up too quickly.” You tried to settle his nerves with a smile but he still looked worried. You sighed and placed a hand against his cheek. “I’m fine, honestly. Don’t worry.” You looked up to see Shiro’s mother walk up to you too. You smiled at her reassuringly. “Daijōbudesu.” You muttered and turned to look back at your concerned boyfriend. “I’m just gonna go use the bathroom and splash some water on my face, okay?” Shiro’s eyes scanned your face before he relented.
“Alright. You know where it is, right?” You nodded and turned your back on the two of them as you headed to the bathroom as calmly as you could. When you turned a corner and was certain that you were out of sight, you quietly bolted to the bathroom, covering your mouth with the back of your hand. You had just barely made it to the bathroom before you coughed up your recently eaten dinner into the sink. You turned on the faucet to wash it away and to drown out the noise as it continued for a few more minutes. Once you were sure it was over, you washed your mouth with water and washed the sweat away from your face. You leaned over the sink and groaned quietly.
“Not again…” You muttered. This had been going on for the past few weeks. You’ve hidden it from Shiro because you didn’t want him to worry and because you needed to finish shooting the final episodes of your show. You were sure that it was just a stomach bug at first but they shouldn’t last this long. Your eyes snapped open. “Oh shit.” You whispered as you hastily pulled out your phone and checked your menstrual tracker app. You gasped silently in shock as you read the screen. You were over two months late. At first, you chalked up your first late period to stress from the shooting but by the time the second had been missed, you completely forgot about it due to the show. “Oh shit.” You said again. You looked up at your pale reflection as you tried to calm yourself down. “Okay, don’t stress over this, Y/N. This isn’t the first time you’ve missed more than a month. Finals week was always brutal to your cycle.”
‘Yeah, but you weren’t having sex during finals week.’ A little voice in your head replied.     “That’s true.” You responded out loud. You started to panic. I can’t be a mom. Not right now. I don’t know if I’m ready! Plus, what’s Takashi going to think about this? Worst-case scenarios started popping up in your head before you mentally cut yourself off. “Okay, I think that we can all agree that we shouldn’t be freaking out over this until we take an actual test first.” You said to no one. You nodded to your self in agreement as you walked out the door and into the living room with a smile.
You entered the living room with the view of Shiro and his mother talking. They noticed you right away and Shiro’s mom walked up to you and cupped your cheek.
“You… okay?” She asked in hesitant English. You felt touched at the effort she was putting in to communicate as you nodded with a soft smile. She smiled back and grabbed your hand as she lead you to the couch. Confused, you allowed it at sat down next to Shiro. He put an arm around you and squeezed your shoulder lightly.
“Are you sure? I can take you to the doctor’s if you’d like.” You gave him a quick peck on the lips in response.
“Thanks, but I’m good.” You heard Shiro’s mother softly clear her throat and you returned your attention to her. She raised up both hands, fingers spread apart and made a small gesture.
“Wait.” She said. You nodded to let her know that you would before she walked off again. You glanced over to your boyfriend and he just shrugged his shoulders as you both waited for his mother’s return. Not long after, she re-entered the room with a couple of photo albums in her hands. You sat up straighter in excitement while Shiro groaned.
“Mom, we don't need to show her these.”
  “Well, why not?” She asked.
  “Because…” Shiro trailed off.
“Because?” She urged him to continue.
“It’s just embarrassing.” He muttered. Shiro’s mom rolled her eyes.
“Oh please! It’s just pictures of you as a child! Worst-case scenario, she sees a picture of you in the bath but what’s the big deal? She’s definitely seen more than that.”
“Mom!” Shiro gasped, mortified. You sat quietly in between the two of them bickering as you tried to stifle your laughter. Despite not knowing what was being said, you had a pretty good guess based on the photo albums before you, your boyfriend's flushed face, and his mother’s triumphant one. While the two of them went back and forth, you quietly picked up one of the photo albums and opened it. You started flipping through the pictures of Shiro’s childhood with a smile on your face. Shiro and his mother both noticed and Shiro sighed in defeat and reluctantly started looking through them with you. You landed on a picture of Shiro, no older than ten, in a baseball uniform, a band-aid and a little dirt on his face, and a wide smile with a gap from a missing tooth. Shiro’s mom pointed at it with a fond smile and held up nine fingers to tell you his age. You smiled in response as you continued to look through the album. You closed it and picked up another right away, the teddy bears on the cover indicated that these were his baby photos. You quickly opened it and let out a small squeal in delight.
“Oh my god! Kashi, you were so cute!” You turned to see your boyfriend with slightly flushed features as he averted your gaze.
“Kawaii ne?” Shiro’s mother asked. You nodded enthusiastically and continued to look through his baby pictures fondly.
I wonder if our kids will look like this? You asked yourself. You mentally shook your head at the thought. You intended to not think about it until you were certain and dammit, you were going to. You finished looking at the final page of the album and reluctantly closed it and picked up the last one. Most of the pictures were of him in middle and high school. The pictures of a younger and smaller looking Shiro being goofy with his friends made you smile the most as Shiro pointed them out to you and gave you a brief introduction on them. You remember a few of them that you and Shiro met when they visited you in LA, but most of them were strangers to you. You flipped the page again and another picture caught your eye. It was old. The faded colors and grainy filter told you that. And in the picture wasn’t Shiro but a young woman with a slightly older man. You instantly recognized Shiro’s mother for she barely aged a bit. She was probably in her early twenties and she was looking up lovingly of the man who was clearly of European descent. He met her gaze with a similar look.
“Hey, babe, who’s this?” You pointed at the man in curiosity.
“Who?… Oh.” You felt the mood drop instantly. You looked up and saw that both Shiro and his mother looked a bit grim.
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to-” You were quickly cut off.
  “No, it’s fine. That’s just… my father.”
“Your father?” You repeated softly. You looked at the man closer and noticed a bit of resemblance between him and Shiro with the facial structure. Shiro never talked to you much about his father. All you knew about him was that he was from Sweden and Shiro’s never met him. Other than that, he basically didn’t exist. You felt a small hand rest over yours and you looked over to Shiro’s mother. She was smiling sadly as she spoke to you in Japanese. After she finished speaking, you turned to look at Shiro for a translation. He looked over at his mother for confirmation that it was okay to repeat it and she nodded.
“She said that he was a professor at her college. And that they had a secret relationship with one another and that they were doing really well. But when she found out that she was pregnant with me and told him, he quit his job and left the country almost immediately because turns out, he was married and had a family back in his country. He’s probably somewhere in Sweden, the bastard.” He added angrily with a hint of hurt in his voice. You laid a hand on his shoulder and turned to look at his mom with an apologetic look. She smiled and patted your cheek.
“Daijōbudesu.” She said with an optimistic voice. She looked over to Shiro and looked back at you. Even though she wasn't communicating to you with words, you understood what she meant. ‘In the end, I got Takashi out of this so I don’t regret a thing. If anything, he’s missing out.’ You grinned and nodded in agreement.
Shiro’s mother tried to stifle her yawn as she glanced at her watch. You checked the time as well and noticed that it was around 11 o’clock at night.
“Hey, Takashi, it’s getting late. We should probably try to sleep and fight off this jet-lag.” Shiro seemed to have snapped out of some trance and nodded automatically. You got up from the couch and turned to Shiro’s mom. “Oyasuminasai, Shūtome.” You said hesitantly, praying that you bid her good night correctly, before walking up the stairs with Shiro.
  “Oyasuminasai.” She replied.
You closed the door behind you after entering Shiro’s childhood bedroom. Bits and pieces of his past were shown through the things that he had in them. You looked over to see Shiro staring out the window silently. You frowned slightly and walked up to him. You hugged him from behind and rested your cheek against his broad back.
“Hey, you okay?” You asked. You heard him let out a big sigh.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just… bad thoughts.” He muttered.
“Sorry for bringing up those bad thoughts.” You replied, guiltily. Shiro sighed again before he turned around and returned your hug.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. If anything it was him. I mean, how could somebody do that? How could somebody just leave a pregnant woman who was carrying his unborn child alone without a good reason?”
“I don’t know Takashi. I don’t know why or how people do it. There are just some people like that in this world, unfortunately.”
“But still. If it were me, I wouldn’t leave. There is no way in hell I would leave. And yet, he did.” You felt yourself let out a little breath of relief that you didn’t even know that you were holding. You were glad to know that if you did find yourself pregnant, he would be with you.
“You’re not like him Kashi. You have a heart. And you do what’s right.” You felt Shiro hug you a little tighter.
“But… why didn’t he care?” He asked in a whisper. You felt your heart clench at the hurt in his voice. You pulled back slightly and cupped his face in your hands.
“Because he's a coward, Takashi. He’s a coward who doesn’t even deserve to know you anyway. You’re a better man in a day than he will ever be in his life. You’re better than him.” You repeated firmly as you tugged on his chin to look you in the eyes. “And he’s worse off without you.” Shiro stared into your eyes deeply and in silence, processing your words. He parted his lips, preparing to speak before he shut them. Finally, he let out a breath.
“You… you are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, you know that?” You grinned slightly.
“That’s a given.” Shiro gently shook his head in amusement as he bent down to brush his lips softly against yours.
“I love you.” He murmured against your lips.
“I love you, too.” You replied. You two continued to softly caress each other lips before slowly parting from each other.
“Let’s get ready for bed. As you said, we should fight off this jet-lag.” Shiro said before leaving your embrace and unpacking both of your toiletries.
  “Okay.”
It had just past 4 A.M and you still found yourself unable to sleep. Shiro had managed to doze off a few hours ago, hugging you close to his chest. However, you didn’t even feel the least bit tired. And by keeping to yourself in the quiet, the unwanted thoughts of a possible pregnancy started to resurface. You tried to block out the thoughts by shutting your eyes and trying to force yourself to sleep but eventually, you gave up and let out a silent groan in frustration. You slowly started to get up from the futon when you felt Shiro’s arms tighten around you.
“Babe, what are you doing? It’s the middle of the night.” He mumbled, sleepily. You turned around slightly and planted a soft kiss on his cheek.
“I can’t sleep. I’m going to take a walk around the neighborhood.” You whispered.
“But you don’t know the area. I’ll go with you.” He replied as he started to get up. You quickly stopped him and gently pushed him back down to the futon. Luckily, he didn’t put up much of a fight.
“I’ll be fine. If I get lost, I’ll just use Google Maps.” Shiro cracked one eye open and looked at you curiously.
  “Are you sure?” He asked.
“Positive. Now go back to sleep. I’ll be back within an hour.” You said as you kissed his lips gently. Shiro hummed in acknowledgment before his breathing quickly went back to a slow, steady pace. You smiled softly and ran your fingers through his cropped hair before getting back up and putting on a pair of jeans and a hoodie. You quietly walked down the stairs, hoping that you don’t wake up Shūtome. You sighed in relief when you reached the door. You slowly opened the door and picked up your shoes from the shoe-rack outside and slipped them on. You put the hood on over your head and started to walk off in a random direction.
You continued to walk in whatever direction you felt like before you halted in front of a Lawson. You noticed that it was still open so you decided to walk in and grab a quick snack. You nodded politely at the cashier who welcomed you before you started walking down the different aisles, grabbing snacks that you thought looked appetizing along the way. You were about to walk into the next aisle when something caught your eye. It was a small, pink box. You couldn’t read the words written on it but you could swear that it was a picture of a pregnancy test on the box. You quickly pulled out your phone and opened up Google Translate just to be sure. When the words on the screen matched the label on the box, you quickly reached out for it. Just before you were going to grab it, you hesitated.
Should I really be doing this? You asked yourself. I don’t know if I’m ready to know the answer.
‘It’s better to know now than having a random baby popping out of you and ending up on I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.’ A voice replied. After a swift internal battle with yourself, you steeled your resolution and picked it up. You headed over to the counter and pulled out your wallet from the pocket of your hoodie. You quickly exchanged your money for the items and muttered a quiet “Thank you” in Japanese before heading out again.
You quietly entered the house again and tip-toed up the stairs. You placed the snacks in Shiro’s room before heading to the bathroom with the pregnancy test in hand. Once you were finished, you placed the test on the counter near the sink while you washed your hands. You set a timer for two minutes on your phone and turned away from the test. Seconds seemed like hours as you anxiously waited for the result. When you finally heard the soft chime from your phone, indicating that the timer was done, you slowly turned around with your eyes screwed shut. After some attempts, you picked up the test.
“Okay, Y/N. You got this. Just open your eyes on the count of three. One. Two…” You slowly opened your eyes and looked at the test. At the end of the stick, you saw two lines. The moment those lines hit your vision, every doubt, every fear or concern or hesitation flew right out the window. You were pregnant. And it was with Shiro’s baby. You were going to be a mother.
“…Three.” You whispered with a smile. Tears started to prick at your eyes as you let out a watery laugh. “I’m gonna be a mom.” You still couldn’t believe it. You rested a hand on your stomach, it was too early for a bump to be visible but you stared down at it lovingly. “Hello, little baby.” You whispered. You felt a tear slip down your face. “I’m your Mama.” It felt right having those words leave your lips. “I know you can’t hear me yet but I hope you know how much I love you already and I can’t wait to meet you. Wait until your Papa hears the news. I can’t wait to see the look on his face.” Happily, you left the bathroom and headed down the hall to Shiro’s room. You glanced out the window and saw the faintest hint of sunlight. You checked your phone and saw that it was ten minutes to six. You knew that you were defiantly able to sleep with this news so you decided to go for a walk on the beach in front of the house. You entered the bedroom and knelt down to look at Shiro’s sleeping face. You smiled warmly at the thought of the future before you reached out and gently shook his sleeping frame.
  “Mmm.” He groaned sleepily.
“Hey… hey Kashi. Wake up.” You whispered.
  “No.”
“Come on. Let’s go see the sunrise.”
“We can see the sunset. Let’s just stay in bed.” He muttered as he grabbed you and brought you down to him. You let out a little squeal of laughter as you playfully pushed against him.
“Please?” You asked cutely. When he didn’t respond you sighed and continued. “Please? Please? Please? Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease-”
“Alright, fine. You win.” He groaned as he regretfully pushed himself off of the futon. He slowly dragged his feet and changed into some jeans and a hoodie as well before you two set off for the beach.
You walked against the tides hand in hand, your shoes in the other. The chilly seawater tickled at your feet as the sun continued to rise, slowly, over the horizon. You two stopped walking soon after and sat down at the edge of the sea. You sat side by side as you watched the sun ascend.
“This is beautiful.” You said in awe.
  “Yeah. You were right.”
“I always am.” You said with a grin.
“Shut up.” Shiro chuckled. You did as well as you continued to stare into the distance.         Alright, Y/n. Now or never. You thought. You opened your mouth to speak, your eyes still set on the rising sun.
“Hey, Kashi?” You said. When you heard him hum in response, you continued. “I’ve been thinking.”
  “About?” He asked.
“You know, about us. About our future.”
“Is it a good one?” He asked. Even though you weren’t looking at him, you could hear the smile in his voice.
  “Obviously.” You snorted.
“So what is it that you saw in our future?” He asked.
“Oh… you know. The basics. Engagement, marriage…. kids.” You added softly. Shiro didn’t respond.
“Do you… do you want kids?” You asked hesitantly, daring not to look at him. Shiro softly cleared his throat before he answered.
“I mean, of course, I want kids. And I especially want them with you. Eventually. But with the show going on right now and our schedules, we can't possibly-”
“Takashi, I’m pregnant.” You blurted out. Everything was silent again. You held your breath as you waited for a response.
“…What?” He said in disbelief. You sighed softly and turned to face him. His face looked like if the word ‘shocked’ was created for just this moment.
“I’m pregnant.” You said again, quieter. You didn’t think Shiro’s eyes could get any wider but they did.
“You…” He took in a shaky breath and stood up and took a few steps into the ocean. The water soaking the ankles of his jeans. He didn’t seem to notice or care. You followed suit and walked up behind him. You placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Are you upset?” You asked. You knew that he wasn’t going to leave. His declaration from the previous night confirmed that for you. But you still couldn’t help but feel scared at the thought that he doesn’t want this baby. When his reply didn’t come, your heartbeat quickened. “Takashi?” You asked hesitantly.
“How long have you known?” He asked quietly.
“I had my suspicions but I just found out. When I went out for a walk, I bought a test and took it.” You replied.
“How far along are you?” You took a moment to think about it.
“If I’m correct…. then a little over two months.” You heard him let out a quick breath.
“Takashi? Are you upset?” You asked again, quieter now.
“Of course I’m not upset.” You heard him whisper. He slowly turned around and looked into your eyes with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. His eyes glistened with unshed tears. “How could I ever be upset. We’re going to be parents!” He said with a watery laugh as he picked you up and spun you around. You let out a little scream in shock before you laughed with him. He eventually stopped and slowly put you down, still wrapped around in his embrace.
  “But you just said-”
“Forget what I said. I meant it theoretically. But now that I know that you- we,” He corrected as he placed a hand on your stomach, the bump still invisible. “are going to have a baby, I wouldn’t have it another way.” A single tear slipped down your face as you hugged him tightly. He returned the hug and let out a dreamy sigh. “I am so, so in love with you, Y/N.” He whispered into your hair.
“I’m in love with you, too.” You replied. You two gently pulled apart from each other and stared lovingly into the other’s eyes before you both slowly leaned in and kissed deeply.  He slowly slipped his tongue inside your mouth and twirled it around yours. You let out a soft moan in delight as you pulled him closer. After a few minutes of loving kisses, Shiro’s body tensed and he immediately pulled away.
“Ah, shit.” He muttered. You looked at him curiously.
“What?” Shiro let out an exasperated sigh.
“I left it at the house. Had I known… wait here.” He said before quickly jogging towards the house. You stood there in shock as you watched his figure get smaller.
  “O…kay?”
You waited for your boyfriend’s return, your feet splashing the water slightly. He couldn’t have been gone for more than a few minutes but it felt like hours. You soon heard footsteps and you quickly turned around to see Shiro running up to you, a little out of breath.
“I was going to do this when we went to go see the cherry blossoms, but I guess now is better than later.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
“What are you talking abo-” Your voice left your lips when you saw Shiro kneel down and pull out a box from the pocket of his hoodie. The sea water was basically soaking all of his jeans but his only focus was on you.
“Y/N, you didn’t know this, but I’ve been set on you for a while now. Even before we were official. When I saw you for the first time at one of our previous auditions, I knew that you were going to be a special part of my life. And when we got cast together for Voltron, I knew that I had to get to know you. And then after our first night… I knew that I was done for. That you were the one for me. I fell for you hard and fast and I couldn’t wait to ask you to be mine forever.”
“Oh my god.” You whispered. You felt your heart swell at his words.
“Every time I picture my future, you’re there, Y/N. You’re always there. And I know that we’re a little young and that we just got our careers off the ground but hey, we’re going to be parents now. Life is unpredictable.” He said with a chuckle. You laughed as well. “So what I’m saying is…”
  “Yes?” You whispered.
“We’re going to have a baby soon…” He trailed off.
“Uh-huh.” You replied. Your smile widening at the familiar scene.
“And you’re the love of my life…” He said dramatically. You giggled slightly as you rolled your teary eyes.
“Get on with it already, Shirogane!” You teased, your voice shaking with tears. Shiro hummed in amusement before slowly opening the box and revealing a gorgeous ring. In the center, it held a round carbonado diamond that sat on a band of white gold. An intricate pattern was carved in the band and held smaller carbonado diamonds along with miniature crystals within. You let out a quiet gasp.
“Marry me?” He asked. His voice was soft and loving as he stared deep into your eyes. The dam finally broke and the tears spilled down your face. You couldn’t speak so all you could do was nod frantically before you finally found your voice.
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Of course, I’ll marry you!” You sobbed. Shiro let out a small breath of relief before he stood up and gently grabbed your left hand.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do this.” He whispered as he slipped the ring onto your finger. You laughed in disbelief. You looked up and saw that a few tears slid down Shiro’s face as well before you quickly grabbed his face and crashed his lips against yours. You soon parted and stared at each other lovingly.
“We’re going to get married!” You squealed. Shiro softly kissed the tip of your nose.
“I know. And we’re going to be parents.” He reminded you as he looked down onto your stomach. You gently rested a hand over it and Shiro rested his hand over yours.
“I can’t wait.” You muttered happily. Shiro hummed in agreement. His eyes still focused on your unborn child.
“You’re going to be so spoiled, you know that?” He said to the baby with a smile. You giggled at his interaction with the baby.
“You’re going to be a great dad, Takashi.” You whispered. He finally looked up and smiled at you.
“And you’re going to be a great mom.”
“Speaking of moms, we should tell your mother.” Shiro gently shook his head.
“Not yet. Let’s surprise her.” He looked back down at your stomach. “Your Baba is going to spoil you rotten as well.” He chuckled.
  “Baba?” You asked.
“It’s short for Obāsan. It means grandma.”
“Ah.” You understood. You looked out into the horizon and noticed that the sun was fully up. You checked the time and saw that it was a little past 7 A.M. “We should head back. We don’t want your mom worrying about us.” Shiro nodded.
“Yeah, okay.” You started to walk off when you felt a little tug on your arm. You turned around just before Shiro pulled you close and kissed you passionately. He slowly parted his lips from yours and smiled.
“I’m so happy.” You smiled back.
  “Me too.”
You entered the house with Shiro and was greeted with the smell of steaming rice.
“I guess your mom’s up.” You said. He shrugged his shoulders.
“She’s always been an early riser.” You noticed his mother poke her head out of the kitchen and walked up to greet you.
“Ohay-” She stopped abruptly in her tracks. Her eyes focused on you. Or more specifically, your hand. She quickly ran up to you and brought your hand up to her face as she examined the ring. She looked up to Shiro with questioning eyes. When he nodded his head with a smile, she let out a squeal of delight as she crushed your body to her small frame. You let out a little laugh in surprise before you returned the hug just as forcefully. She removed herself from you and held your face in between her delicate hands. “Welcome!” She said gleefully. You felt yourself tear up again at her kindness.
  “Arigatō.”
It was the last day of your two-week trip to Japan. You spent a lot of time with Shiro and his mother. You also got to meet some of his relatives and childhood friends. You and Shūtome had gotten really close over the past two weeks despite the language barrier. You had managed to get by with your minimal Japanese, her limited English, Shiro’s translations, Google Translate, and a whole lot of hand gestures. You silently vowed to yourself to become fluent in Japanese as soon as possible after what could possibly have been the thousandth time you or Shūtome called over Shiro for translation help. During the trip, you and Shiro sneakily went to the doctor who confirmed that you were nearing the end of your first trimester of pregnancy. You, along with Shiro and his mother decided to have a picnic in the park where the cherry blossoms were. Even though you and Shiro knew that it was probably best to share the news after your first trimester, you both agreed that you wanted to be there in person when you told her the news. And plus, you were going to head into your second trimester within the next week.
After you had found a decent spot to sit, Shiro set up the picnic blanket while you and Shūtome pulled out the food that you had made together earlier that day. You glanced up and admired the view of the cherry blossom trees that surrounded you.
“You were right, Kashi. The pictures pale in comparison to the real thing.” You said in awe.
“I know, right? You don’t see things like this in LA.” You hummed in agreement before pulling out your phone and snapping a few pictures. You noticed from the corner of your eye a pair of kids running around and playing with kites as their parents sat nearby. Your thoughts were once again brought back to the baby that was currently resting in your womb and you absentmindedly rubbed your hand against it with a smile. Shiro noticed your gaze and gave you a knowing smile. You returned it.
“So when should we tell her?” You whispered. Logically, you knew that she didn’t understand what you were saying but you couldn’t help but be secretive. Shiro rolled his eyes amusedly at your actions.
“We’ll tell her later. Let’s just enjoy lunch. You especially, since you’re eating for two.” You grinned slightly as you picked up a plate of food that Shiro handed to you. Ever since you told him about the news, he has even more attentive than before. Sometimes, you even woke up in the middle of the night to find him talking to the baby in hushed whispers. And now he will only sleep with his arms around you and hands resting protectively over your stomach. Sometimes you think that he’s being a little too cautious but you couldn’t deny that you found the whole thing really cute. You silently took a bite into the delicious food, glad that your morning sickness has been wearing off.
“Oishī?” Shūtome asked you. You turned to face her and smiled.
“Hai.” You replied. She returned your smile and continued to eat as well. You, Shiro, and Shūtome engaged in a limited, but lively conversation throughout the meal.
You all had spent most of the day at the park. Taking pictures with one another and admiring the cherry blossoms as they fell around you and into your hair. The sky was now bright orange and you turned over to look at Shiro with a knowing look. He nodded in agreement and turned to his mother.
  “Mom?” Shiro called out.
  “Yes?” She replied.
“There’s something that Y/N and I need to tell you.”
“Really? What is it?” A curious look appeared on her face as she turned fully to face the two of you.  “Well…” He trailed off and glanced over to you. You smiled and gently grabbed Shūtome’s hand and rested it against your barely-visible bump. She looked at her hand that was over your stomach questionably before recognition flickered in her eyes. Her head quickly shot up as she turned to look at you then at Shiro.
“Takashi?” She asked. Her voice laced with hope. He nodded slowly with a smile.
“Yes, mom. Y/N’s pregnant. Nearly three months.” Shūtome gasped at her son's words before she turned to face you. She grabbed your other hand with her free one tightly.
“Baby?” Her voice was barely a whisper.
“Hai.” You responded. Shūtome’s eyes immediately filled with tears before she pulled you and Shiro in close for a hug. You both returned the hug and smiled at each other over her shoulder.
“That went well,” Shiro said happily.
Nearly three months had passed since your trip to Japan. The release of Voltron: Legendary Defender was a month prior and, like your director said, was a big hit. You had informed the cast and crew about the pregnancy and engagement and everyone congratulated you. You even noticed Lance hand Keith a twenty dollar bill in defeat. You grinned at the memory. You and Shiro were preparing to appear at Comic-Con. Your bump was extremely noticeable now so you wore an oversized sweater, despite the heat, to hide it.
“You ready? We don’t want to miss out flight.” Shiro asked. You turned and saw that he was heading towards you. You stood on your tip-toes and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
“Yup. Let’s go!” You said excitedly.
When you and the rest of the cast showed up for Comic-Con, you were all immediately swarmed by fans asking for pictures, autographs, even to just shake your hand. It was all very hectic. And you loved it. You couldn’t believe that in less than a month, your show had this much attention. Surrounded by fans, you looked over to Shiro who was surrounded by his own and smiled. The fans started to ask you and the cast questions and theories about the show. You were trying to be as discrete as you could when you felt a warm hand on your shoulder. You turned and saw Shiro smiling at the crowd.
“We would love to answer these questions for you. However, you’re going to have to ask at the panel. Where we have to be soon.” The fans all let out a collective sound of disappointment and you had to hide your smile behind your hand.
“See you later.” You said as you waved at them. You and the cast walked away from the fans and headed off to the panels.
“Hey, guys!” The director said as she walked up to you. “Did you see the fans? We’re swarming with them!” She exclaimed happily.
“We just experienced it first hand.” You giggled. The rest of the cast nodded in agreement.
“Well, anyway. We have to get ready. Our panel starts in an hour.” The director replied. You all went your separate ways to prepare.
Your panel finally started and the room was filled with fans. There was barely any room left for any of them to sit. You and the cast and the director greeted the fans enthusiastically while the fans returned it with the same energy. You all had a lot of fun talking about the future of Voltron and making the fans laugh with your bickering. Finally, it was time for the cast to ask the fans questions. A bunch of fans stood in a line, waiting for their turn. There were some questions that you could answer, couldn’t answer, could answer vaguely, or just made you laugh.
“Alright, next question!” The director called out. A bubbly girl, no more than 16, walked up to the mic.
“Hi! First of all, I just want to say that I’m a big fan! Especially, Lance’s character!”
“Why, thank you,” Lance replied smugly.
“So my question is: Do the cast know about the big shipping wars going on? Especially Klance?” Lance’s smug look quickly turned to one of embarrassment and you had to stop yourself from nearly spitting your drink from laughter. You heard squeals from the audience and you and the rest of the crew stared at Lance and Keith with amusement before you reached over and picked up a mic.
“Trust me, they know. We’ve read the fanfictions and we were all very amused, surprised, and a bit disturbed.” You said with a laugh. The rest of the audience laughed as well. “Maybe next time we should have Keith and Lance reenact some fan fiction.” You said teasingly. The whole audience erupted in excitement at the thought. Keith quickly grabbed a mic as well.
“Nope. Not gonna happen.” He said.
“Oh, come on! Everyone wants to see it!” You replied. You glanced back at the fans. “Isn’t that right?” You asked, holding your mic in the direction of the audience. A series of screams and agreements were heard as you glanced back smugly at the two actors, the rest of the cast stifling their laughter.
“N-next question!” Lance said in mortification. To his, and Keith’s relief, another fan walked up to the mic.
“Hello! I love your show!” They said enthusiastically.
“Thanks!” The director replied. The rest of the cast nodded in agreement.
“Adding on to the last question on shipping,” They continued. “Many have noticed the sparks happening between Y/N and Shiro’s characters. Will there be any more development in the future?” Now it was Keith and Lance’s turn to grin at you mischievously. You rolled your eyes and gave Shiro a playful look.
“I don’t know, Shiro. Will there be more development?” You asked dramatically.
“Well, I don’t know myself, Y/N. What do you think?” He asked back, just as dramatic.
“I think….” You trailed off, keeping the suspense. “That you all will just have to wait and see in the next season.” You said with a grin. You heard the audience let out a collective groan in mock-disappointment which only made you grin wider.
“Although,” Shiro quickly piped in. The audience’s focus was back to him. “that next season might take a while.” He said as he looked at you. The crowd immediately erupted in a commotion. Your eyes widened slightly before you smirked.
So this is how he wants to tell them? You thought. Alright, I’ll play along. You brought the mic closer to your face, your eyes never leaving his. When you were sure that you had most of the audience’s attention, you started to speak.
“Really?” You inquired. “And why is that, Shiro?”
“Well, we couldn’t possibly film the next season right now. Not with the baby and the wedding coming up.” The room got so silent you could hear a pin drop. It sounded as if there was no one left on Earth. Suddenly, all at the same time, the audience exploded.
  “WHAT!?” You heard one say.
  “ARE YOU SERIOUS!?” Said another.
“OH MY GOD, I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING MY REAL LIFE OTP AGH!”
“I KNEW IT! I KNEW THEY WERE A THING FOR REAL!” You glanced back at the audience before you returned your attention to Shiro. He shrugged his shoulders with a grin and stood up from his seat before pulling you up as well. First, he held up your left hand, showing off your engagement ring. Then he looked into your eyes for a silent question. When you gave him the okay, he slowly lifted up your sweater and revealed your very visible bump. The audience was destroyed at this point. You heard a series of congratulations and applause from the fans and you beamed at them with pride. Shiro bent down slightly and picked up the mic from the table.
“And I think that concludes the end of this panel. We hope to see you all again soon. Maybe even with the baby next time?” Said teasingly. The entire audience squealed at the thought. You rolled your eyes at his actions before you and the rest of the crew walked off, waving at the crowd.
“Wow, way to make a scene, Shirogane.” You said as you walked backstage. He shrugged his shoulders and grinned.
“What can I say? I’m an actor. I have a flair for the dramatics.” You snorted and shook your head in amusement before you pulled him down for a kiss.
A/N: She lives! For like a day lmao. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE YOU GUYS ARE HONESTLY THE GREATEST HUMANS!!!
