A/N: Of course I don't mind! I'd love to write my headcanons about them!

-If Ichiru hadn't died and had reunited with Maria, I feel like Maria would be the one to help him sort out his emotions. Maria has perfect patience as she helps Ichiru recover from losing Shizuka and she honestly becomes his rock. Being Shizuka's dear relative and accomplice, she is the only one who understood the depths of their bond and tries to covince Ichiru that they should be leading the lives Shizuka would want them to live. -Ichiru will slowly return her feelings as he sees what an amazing woman Maria is growing up to be. Maria's efforts trying to protect humans from violent vampires and human terrorists posing as vampires is something he deepl admires but he's growing ever so scared of losing her. -One time when she came back still healing from her injury, Ichiru snapped and finally confessed how much he had grown to love her. -Maria and Ichiru wasted no time getting married, these were dangerous times and Ichiru knew there was no other girl who had his back like Maria did so why not? -They are a rather cheerful couple, Maria's boldness and Ichiru's playful streak generally creating some kind of vibrant energy that could be felt whenever they're together. They're that couple who's always exchanging witty jokes and roasting people at the party and how things could be livened up a bit in the corner at soirees. -Surprisingly, that's how they actually became casual friends with Senri and Rima, they love joining in on the roasts. -Ichiru begged Yuki to turn him into a vampire so he had enough strength to protect Maria and their unborn child. -They named their daughter after Shizuka, no doubt about it. -Whilst Zero hadn't been too fond of Shizuka's name, his niece had quickly wrapped her uncle around her little finger. Zero was happy Ichiru had found his happiness, and gladly came over at any of their gatherings. -Zero was also the person Ichiru always called if he needed a babysitter for Shizuka. -Before becoming parents, they had a good talk about their genetics, considering Maria's illness has some risk of inheritance and Ichiru is unsure how his own weird genetics will pass on. They discussed how they would raise their child if it were frail, estimated how the danger of being linked to the Kuran monarchy and the Hunters Association president could impact their child and composed various back-up plans including a safe house similar to how Ruka and Akatsuki raised their child away from the danger. Because they want their child to be happy and safe, blissful of the cruelty in a way Ichiru never had been. -But what touched Maria the most, was Ichiru going over the risks that might happen to her once she got pregnant. Because childbirth is risky, especially if you're chronically sick. Maria started tearing up at Ichiru's concern on how the pregnancy would impact her health and promised him she would take it easy. -Shizuka II was thankfully already an adult by the time Maria had to form the Resistance. Ichiru was so proud of his wife, and he knew Shizuka would have been so proud of Maria and touched they named their daughter after her. -Because Ichiru never died, thankfully that weird and wasted clone plotline never happened. -Ichiru instead got injured during the final fight at the Emperor and the scientist's lair. -During Ichiru's recovery at their safe house, he actually knocked up Maria again. -Shizuka II immediately rushed back home so she could help her parents and take as much of her parents tasks around the house because they both physically deserved the rest. -Ichiru couldn't help but muse that Shizuka was just as caring of an older sibling as Zero had been towards him.

Kaname is born in what will later be England.

1120:

Kaname is bitten and after committing a massacre of people, escapes to a ship and tries to sleep forever.

1637:

Kaname wakes up in Japan, eats the people who find him, walks into the sun to try and die. It does not work.

1643:

Kaname meets the “Hooded Lady”, Tani Kuran, a fellow vampire and an oiran. She gives Kaname the name Kaname since Kaname forgot his original name (Cain I.) and he takes her surname, Kuran. They fall in love (very weird codependent love) and have a son named Christopher/“Krist” (he’s dead).

1646

After the Hooded Lady attempts to kill the current vampires in charge to stop infecting Japan and influenced Kaname to join. While Kaname is fighting with the leader, Tani steps in between the two to protect him. This allows Kaname to kill his opponent but, in doing so, he unintentionally impales Tani also. Tani tells him she might’ve done this on purpose.

Kaname burns the rest of the current council down but decides to seize control in their place before leaving Japan, thus leaving Vampires having no power there.

Though this is throughout time nearly all of Kaname’s descendants inbreed and die, except for Juri and Rido.

1761:

The dhampir and future revered vampire hunter Kaien Cross is born in a British colony (he’s Irish).

1779:

Kaien throws a rock at Kaname’s head in anger at the bourgeoise. This causes the two to meet.

2002:

Yuki Cross/Kuran is born.

2003:

Zero Kiryu is born.

2004:

Ichiru Kiryu is born.

2005:

Emi Yagari is born.

2007:

Juri Kuran-Tomita, Kazuya Tomita (Juri’s husband and Yuki’s father), and Rido Kuran are killed. Yuki is turned into an amnesiac pseudo-human and taken in by Kaname before being given to and adopted by Kaien.

2014:

Toga Yagari (33 years old) mercy kills his wife Babette after she’s bitten and turned, she begs him to kill her before she goes berserk.

Emi is nine when her father comes home and frustratedly says her mother isn’t ever coming back because she is dead.

Toga would later lose his left eye a few months later.

2015:

Ichiru is bitten and conceals this using illusions.

Zero and Ichiru’s parents are killed in an orchestrated killing by Ichiru and Shizuka Hio. Zero is bitten. They are taken in by Kaien after Kaien saves them from dying and kills Shizuka.

2021:

Part one begins.

Late 2021:

Ichiru Kiryuu kills Kaien Cross. Vampires are exposed to humanity.

Zero gives up half his humanity to evade execution with the help of Kaname.

2022:

Society collapses. The world goes to shit after vampires are revealed, The Council only does stuff that will get them more power. America and Russia nuke each other, Japan closes itself off, groups of humans live in underground colonies, the sky is permanently grey so vampires aren’t affected by the sun. The Japanese military splits off and joins either the Hunters or the Catholic faction known as the Templars.

Zero fights Kaito Takamiya and leaves Kaito behind with a magazine of silvers. (A Light Novel I planned)

2023:

Part 2 begins.

Zero saves Emi from a club in which she is a sacrifice. Though Emi kills the other half of the club.

Zero, Emi Yagari, Toga Yagari, Kaname Kuran, Hanabusa Aido, Ruka + Akatsuki Souen, and the hunter army kill the council and dismantle the council’s reign.

Zero and Ichiru fight each other while Kaname kills any remaining councilmen. Ichiru dies. Immediately after, Zero is speared by Yuki and Kaname sees Zero’s body before killing Yuki, his final descendant, in vengeance.

Kaname blows up Cross Academy, and he almost dies. Albeit Kaname is given Yuki’s heart so he is comatose.

Emi Yagari resurrects Zero Kiryu with help of Toga Yagari by getting his metabolic processes back on with magic, which takes weeks.

A day or a few hours after Emi Yagari resurrects Zero with help from her father, The Templars nearly kill her for this as this would make her equal to or above God/Jesus. Aido quickly diverts their attention to “other pressing matters”.

Kaname wakes a week later without his memory.

Yuki Cross is dead. Ichiru Kiryu is dead.

2024

Part 3/Post-Series

5 months after, Zero wakes up.

Emi has become Cross Academy’s headmistress, though she’s more of a “Mockingjay” situation.

Cross Academy is rebuilding.

Kaname Kuran’s memories are brought back by Zero Kiryu.

Kaname attempts to starve himself for a week out of just wanting his life over. Zero finds him.

Kaname and Zero get together after a whole deal of Kaname being pissed off zero brought him back but then Zero isn’t taking his shit. That almost bang in the abandoned apartment and dam now they have no idea what the fuck they are

Emi has her son Mei. The father is unknown but implied to be one of the Americans.

Kaname and Zero get married.

because canon is dumb and my girl deserves so much better.

01. despite canon claiming that the kurenai family is only a very distant relative to the hio clan, my portrayal chooses to omit that line. the hio and kurenai family, per my interpretation, is closely related to the point where maria truly does possess physical features similar to shizuka. however, because the kurenai family chooses to stand away from politics, they are not as prominently known to the newer generation of aristocratic vampires. older aristocrats and politicians are aware of their existence, but dismisses them largely due to their eccentric and private lifestyle.

02. realistically there was no way for maria to be "gifted" at learning weapons. she was born ill and by the time she was able to actually do something, shizuka had already taken over her frail body. maria was raised reading books and being homeschool all of her life---- and thus any physical strain should be considered impossible until shizuka's blood started to heal her. therefore, no, maria is not gifted in learning how to fight. she is ( depending on timeline ) a beginner. yes, it was likely she did gain an interest in fighting with a sword based on her interaction with both shizuka and ichiru, but neither of them bothered to teach her. she learned it on her own, through hard work and determination.

03. the sequel for some strange reason insist on making maria more "rebellious" and "political". however, based on what we knew about maria during school phase : she was extremely feminine and shy. her interest was never about politics, but rather home economics and making sweets. she wanted to make friends and find some semblance of normal --- especially since she was isolated for a good portion of her life. therefore, it is rather tricky and difficult for me to believe she simply decided to be a resistance leader just because of someone who canonly didn't really pay much attention to her. it is pitiful. therefore, i am more content of portraying a maria who is confident with herself and interest. i want her to focus on being her own person, rather than try to become "the woman her one-sided crush like".

04. also maria does not "magically get healed" by the time the sequel happens lmao. shizuka died before she was able to completely heal maria---- that is a fact. maria was able to gain strength during the night time, but the moment day hits, she reverts back to her frail self. therefore : shizuka only partially healed maria. there is absolutely no explanation to why she suddenly lost her illness, and i refuse to abide by convenience of it all. maria continues to have her illness throughout her adulthood.

day 95 - has kaname ever controlled zero the way shizuka and sara did?

PART I

Listen, everyone probably had a vampire phase at some point in their lives. Most of the time it's Twilight and while I definitely did has a Twilight phase, I have to say it's honestly not as bad as my Vampire Knight and Diabolik Lovers phase.

So the thing with Vampire Knight is that the Purebloods, the highest ranking vampires are basically Targaryens. They marry brother to sister to keep their vampire bloodline pure. But that's honestly not the worst part. In fact as someone who's already pretty desensitized to incest in fiction (I reiterate: in fiction), the worst part for me was the fact that Kaname was Yuuki's ancestor. It's not a branch to branch incest, it's incest up and down the family tree. To this day, I have no idea why the author did this. I mean if Kaname had just been her brother, it still would have been icky but not as much as Yuuki getting on with her ancestor. Also the destroying all vampires plot was so out of pocket in my opinion. Partly because the author laid down the fact that most Purebloods eventually commit suicide because they lose all joy/motivation to live after living thousands and thousands of years quite a few times, so I was honestly expecting more of an exploration of what being a Pureblood means. These people are worshipped by vampire society as their kings and queens and yet they're probably the unhappiest vampires of them all, and they are also locked up by their own people (re: Shizuka Hio), they are both the predator and the prey and that honestly would've been super interesting to explore. But I digress.

Next up we have Diabolik Lovers, now buckle up because all those trigger warnings are about to become extremely relevant.

Diabolik Lovers felt like a fever dream and a guilty pleasure all at the same time. The gist of it is the adoptive daughter of priest is basically sent to a mansion filled with hot vampires to be their sacrificial blood bank (thanks, dad!). Now this is where you might think 'oh that's easy all 6 brothers fall in love with her' but hahaha no. No, no, absolutely not.

In the game Yui (our main girl) has a backbone and basically says "well, if I'm getting my blood sucked until I die then it's my right to choose who's sucking my blood in the first place" and so she basically chooses one of the brothers to drink her blood. I much prefer the game because honestly Yui's life in the anime is fucking miserable. MISERABLE. She gets sucked to the point of unconsciousness by all these brothers like very fucking day and she has to suffer abuse under their hands. Basically, in the anime Yui deals with 6 red fucking flags but in the game she deals with only one with you know, sprinkles of kidnapping and shit because other fantasy creatures like demons exist in this world.

But yeah, in all honesty Twilight is absolutely tame compared to the other vampire shit I went through during my phase.

A/N: Ichiru's one of my favorite characters alongside Zero, Maria and Senri (he's so underrated). I prefer Maria and Ichiru as a ship over Ichiru and Shizuka, but I'll give my headcanons about them!

-If Shizuka hadn't died, it would still have taken years for these two to get together. Considering her reluctancy to give into Ichiru's feelings because she feared of him ending up like her previous lovver. -Considering Zero was turnt into a vampire and Shizuka does think of his hatred for her as a pleasant thing, Ichiru's jealousy towards Zero would only increase in the years after the events at Cross Academy. -But as Ichiru matures, Shizuka slowly lets her guard down little by little and he understands how she needs time to open up again. -Once they do finally become a couple, they'll become an eyesore to Zero. -Not in an villainous kind of way, but more in the teasing siblings kind of manner. I mean, Ichiru's prankster streak and Shizuka's love for playing with Zero combined? Zero definitely has it rough handling those two sometimes. -I can see Shizuka, if she hadn't died, spread some minor chaos in vampire society with Ichiru as her accomplice. Shizuka isn't insane but given the fact her family does have a history with mental instability, purebloods loving to have schemes because they're bored with their immortality and her hellish life, Shizuka and Ichiru would create a bit of ruckus just for the hell of it - mostly aimed at Yuki because as long as innocent people don't die she's fine with cleaning up their mess. In fact, dealing with these two actually fuels Zero and Yuki to have drinks together so they can bitch and moan about the trouble they cause. -Yuki is also the one to eventually turn Ichiru. Because Shizuka doesn't wants a master bond between them, but once she realizes how little time she has with Ichiru and potentially gets pregnant, she will change her mind about wanting Ichiru to stay human. Shizuka, already having a heartache about her previous lover, isn't sure if she has the same strength that Hanabusa and Yori have. -Whilst the vampire society looks down on Ichiru for dating Shizuka just like they do with Zero and Yuki, they do acknowledge that Shizuka and Yuki are sister in laws with reverance. -Through the years, Ichiru and Zero establish peace between them and their children grew up together. -Zero even manages to forgive Shizuka through the years because he can recognize she saved Ichiru in a way he never could. -At Zero and Yuki's wedding, Ichiru was giggling drunk about how magical the odds were that they both managed to marry a pureblood princess. -He and Shizuka obviously bought the most embarassing wedding gift they could think off. -Shizuka and Ichiru remain close with Maria through the years too. She's always invited to family gatherings. -Once Senri's mom dies, Shizuka reaches out to condole him on the loss, feeling sorry for him because she knows better then most how Rido was like and the pain he inflicts. -To which Ichiru holds her close later that night, saying she could tell him whatever dark memories are on her mind.

I still don't like kaname. His goal at protecting humans from pure bloods would have been cool if pure bloods were actually a threat. The whole story is kaname manipulating everyone around him even the girl he says he loves. After he gives his heart to the furnace the humans (like always) ended up causing more problems than the pure bloods. So he was just attacking people who may or may not need to be killed. He's not Yuki's biological brother but they were raised as siblings. So yes still incest. He had the brain and memory of an adult and watched the kid he decided to marry, grow up from the day she was born. He treats yuki like a child through the whole story, doesn't listen to anything she wants, tries to control her, zero is the same way so also not a good partner for her

This is really new for me 😅 , I have never been asked questions about vampire knight before . If you don't like Kaname , I can't really say anything about it , I mean many fans don't , your choice 😅 , truthfully I am in a good mood today or I might have started arguing about it but at the end of the day it's your choice I won't deny the fact that he is a manipulator , he is but the fact the matter is he is more honest about his manipulations than other characters, he doesn't mince his word's, I like that about him . He manipulated people but did he ever say that I am someone to be trusted to them , always said things like I am liar , manipulator,you guys are my pawns . It was their choice . And the fact that purebloods were not a threat , that's truly an understatement , they were , are and will be threat to humans , I mean what stops them from actually annihilating humans or vampires if they truly want , they were that powerful, they are still that powerful, it's just genocide shouldn't be the answer, I think Hino's lack of world building is most likely to be blamed for that , I mean if you look at the chapters where Kaname' s past is revealed, you can see the true terrors of purebloods, how they indiscriminately turned humans into vampires , just because Kaname' took extreme that were visible, do you think crimes were not happening, shizuka Hio was given daily sacrifices by the vampire council , did hunters really not know about it? .. Kaname was given seiren and her sister as sacrifice to him , he could have either killed them or turned them but he didn't want to ( this is not for glorifying him ) , but those kids were sold by their guardians to be left for dead , just imagine how many people actually died like that , I mean what he wanted was to do something like this , he wanted to burn the deep dark forest along with himself, so yuki would have a brighter future as a human , well that's he thought, he has tried all that he could, he tried finding the cure , or giving them a chance but it didn't work ,so in the end he tried the one thing that perhaps he thought was best , I mean there are lots of things to be said about that can be said about him ,but more likely two sentences would describe him the best ,

Beware when you fight with monsters lest you become , the more you gaze into the abyss , the abyss gazes back into you .

He just wasn't able to accept the fact that he could live in the light with all that he went through and that's the tragedy of his life , that happiness always escapes him , he feels transparent sometimes, like he will disappear.

About the incest part , it's normal for them , so why should it bother that much , it's your personal preference if you don't like it , can't say much on that .

About the age gap , it's actually a very common trope in romantic supernatural themes , and i kind of like it and same thing about this as well...its your choice if you like it or not .

I can't really say anything about the fact that Kaname doesn't listen to her , many times he couldn't listen to her, sometimes he did , when he didn't listen to her , he just opened the gates of sadness for himself , i mean that chapter was a heartattack for all kaname fans😭 ,trust me when I say it still hurts .

And about zero , he is just given a free pass for everything, no matter what he does , he is most of the exempted or saved 😅.

For yuki , i don't have much good words to say , she is as indecisive as one can get and never really goes with her words or stands by them .

I can see that you like yuki , it's easier to emphatize with her given her age and her gender , there are many things I don't like about her but thats my own opinion, you are free to have your own .

Sorry for the long answer , and I apologise if something I said something that offended you but I really like Kaname and it's not about defending him , it's about supporting him for me , and I really wish for him to be happy this time around. This might not be the answer you are looking for but that's my thought .
