Say what you will about Voyager and Enterprise, but nothing quite compares to the absolutely batshit episodes in those two shows. Canon mpreg, two characters get merged together, clone made to save a man’s life gains sentience and doesn’t want to have brain surgery, warp barrier break evolves man into salamander where he mates with his captain (also a salamander), whatever the fuck The Thaw was. I love it. I want more befuddling Star Trek.

Star Trek Enterprise Rewatch:
3x10 Similitude
First aired: 19 November 2003
Synopsis: To save Trip from dying they grow a clone to harvest his body for parts Trip needs to survive.
Ash’s rating: 4/7
oh no, who died?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Is it Porthos?
oh no, it’s Trip!
oops xD
I WILL TOUCH THE SKY
T’Pol and Trip are massaging each other's feet….
and talking about the engines
why…. why…. why do you have to be in that position??
why
they are getting up to warp 4.9, that’s pretty fast
everything is running smoothly
aaaaand now it’s not so smooth anymore
uh-oh, fire in engineering
and on the bridge
daaammmnnnn that was some explosion
poor Trip
ouch
they dropped out of warp, they are in some kind of polaric field…. I see
Trip’s in a coma… he might not survive
dang
oohhh
OOOHH
i remember
Phlox has a creature that can clone a being and they are considering growing one and using the clone’s body to heal the original…
that nebula they are in (or whatever) seems a bit weird
“Earth needs Enterprise, Enterprise needs Trip.”
they are doing it, they are going to grow a clone
oohhh, the Enterprise looks bad
the clone will die within 15 days
BABY
babyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Phlox has basically adopted him
his name is Sim
oh no, the boy has Trip’s memories
he is growing fast
and he doesn’t know the truth yet
Archer is going to explain
DAMN THE ENTERPRISE LOOKS SO BAD
PORTHOOOOOS
he’s taking on Trip’s accent xD
awww Archer is showing him how to fly a little model shuttle
he is confused about his name
oohhh he now sees his older self!
Archer looks soooo done
oh boi, the boy doesn’t really… care?
young Trip is inviting T’Pol to movie night… or dinner…
uh-oh, the field they are in is, what, eating through the ship’s hull and systems
i still don’t understand T’Pol’s pajamas
oh noooo, Sim is implying that Trip has feelings for T’Pol
NOOOOOOOOOO
Sim is thinking about T’Pol all the time….
oh boi
not cool man
he doesn’t know if they are Trip’s feelings or his
NO YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE SAID THAT
they are trying to toe Enterprise out of that field with the shuttles
it’s not really working
they are moving! just in time!
very slowly moving but moving
oooh they got faster already
Sim won’t survive the transplant
Phlox feels so bad…
there might be a chance to get Sim a normal life span
Sim wants to survive and continue Trip’s life, basically
Okay, Archer is choosing Trip’s life over Sim’s. Just like that. Moral dilemma solved??
Sim wants to spend his last hours in engineering
wait so all the stuff that clung to the hull of the Enterprise is just gone when they left the field?
Sim almost stole a shuttle
Why does Sim have Porthos?
I want a Porthos
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO T’Pol kissed him
um… in case you haven’t noticed yet: I don’t ship T’Pol/Trip
oh my god Sim and Phlox are having a father/son convo <3
damn Archer, have you slept? have you eaten?
Notes: They tackled a moral dilemma, the whole “let’s grow a new person just to use it’s organs”, but it was over pretty fast, the decision that Trip had the right to survive while Sim didn’t was so clear in Archer’s and idk… bit disappointing.
