Hey guys do you want to hear my (incorrect) reading of Spellbound aka how Hyv just blocked my ~beautiful~ logic with gayness?

So here's the description. And maybe if you squint, you can connect this scene to that description

And there we go: some guy with 8 PhDs tells another dude (neither of them psychoanalysts afaik) that he needs to see a shrink. And I was like 'Okay, so Ratio is only tangential to this. His role is just to do the "diagnosing" and that's it, right?'
Quick summary of Spellbound before we draw the (incorrect) parallels:
Dr Edwardes goes to a mental hospital in Vermont to replace the old director, Dr Murchison, who is forced to retire because of nervous exhaustion. One of the other doctors in the hospital (Dr Petersen) falls in love with Edwardes except she realises he's not the real Edwardes and also maybe is a murderer.
It's later revealed that the real Edwardes has been killed and we suspect the fake one did it until Petersen puts two and two together: the real killer has been closer to home all along. It was Murchison, who never liked the real Edwardes and probably didn’t want to be replaced by him.
I never watched the movie~
But my take is: Petersen is Sunday, who is so distracted by shiny Aventurine (Edwardes) that he failed to realise the real culprit all along was someone closer to home (Gallagher).
Boy I thought I was being clever and then I saw this tweet

essentially, Dr Edward the NPC is named after Edwardes from Spellbound

And for some reason the dude who is basically just a huge eye has the same colour as both Aventurine's and Ratio's. Aventurine's eye colour might be related to Ena (the plot thickens?) so we can honestly just go 'Maybe Dr Edward has the same eye colour as Ena too' except for the inner eye colour. So Idk lol.
And then there's how Dr Petersen was called the custodian of truth. Ratio's name written in Cn is 真理医生, which can read Doctor of Truth.
And also (taken from the shipping wiki)

So basically I was like 'Hey maybe this is a cool parallel'
Hyv telling me I'm wrong and should keep looking at Ratio Igss:

Halloween Parade Peril: A British Cozy Murder Mystery with a Female Amateur Sleuth (A Dotty Sayers Antique Mystery) by Victoria Tait #Review / #Giveaway - Great Escapes Book Tour @victoriataitauthor

Halloween Parade Peril: A British Cozy Murder Mystery with a Female Amateur Sleuth (A Dotty Sayers Antique Mystery) by Victoria Tait About Halloween Parade Peril Halloween Parade Peril: A British Cozy Murder Mystery with a Female Amateur Sleuth (A Dotty Sayers Antique Mystery) Cozy Mystery 10th in Series Setting - Ireland Publisher : Kanga Press (September 13, 2024) Number of Pages c. 240 Digital ASIN : B0CM2MGBVY A spooky spectacle turns deadly when a singer’s voice is silenced forever. Does an amateur sleuth have the ghost of a chance to unmask the killer before the jack-o'-lantern’s candle is snuffed out? Emerging antiques expert, Dotty Sayers, is excited about traveling to Ireland for a prestigious auction. Alongside her friend, Sergeant Keya Varma, Dotty revels in Dublin’s iconic sights and finds herself spellbound by haunting melodies at the Bram Stoker Festival. But a Halloween parade turns tragic when a musician’s last melody leads to his final breath. With the police operating a skeleton crew, Keya expresses grave concerns while Dotty carves up excitement at the auction, bidding for a pumpkin full of Irish treasures. But when one of their friends ends up behind bars and another confesses to the crime, this duo of detectives realises the witching hour is near. Can Dotty piece the eerie puzzle together and unveil the villain before the plot thickens like a witch’s potion? Join Dotty and her friends in Dublin for the latest instalment of the Dotty Sayers Antique Mystery series. If a cauldron of quirky characters, bewitching puzzles, and enchanting Irish folklore is what you crave, then Victoria Tait’s spellbinding narrative will keep you captivated until the final page. Make no bones about it - read Halloween Parade Peril today! Dollycas's Thoughts Dotty and Keya are going to Ireland. Dotty is becoming quite the antique expert and has been hired to purchase items for a new castle hotel in Leicestershire. She is hoping a well-respected auction at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, Ireland may have items to furnish the new hotel with the necessary historical character and charm. Keya's boyfriend, Sujin, and his band the Celtic Twisters have been asked to perform at Dublin's Bram Stoker Festival and he has asked her to come along. Since both towns are close they decide to travel together. Keya even convinces Dotty to invite her gentleman friend, Zach to join the group. Everyone is enjoying the excursion taking in the touristy sights, the music, and the auction. They are excited to attend the annual Halloween Parade until one of the Celtic Twisters is killed right in the middle of the event. The local Garda only has one sergeant and two constables and usually officers from Dublin would take over the murder investigation but they are busy with their own cases. Keya and Sunjin explain their actual jobs and offer to help. Dotty and Zach also offer their assistance. Members of the band top the suspect list but Dotty thinks she needs to dig deeper to find the killer. Will she get to the bottom of the story to reveal the real killer or will the Halloween Parade killer get away with murder? _____ I love it when Dotty and Keya get together. Dotty has been doing things on her own and Keya now has her own series but when they get together they pick up right where they left off and make an incredible team. I liked that the men in their lives also came along on this trip to Ireland. We see a new side of these women when they are dealing with budding romance. Ms. Tait does a fantastic job of creating genuine characters and allowing them to develop naturally as the series' continue. She also surrounds them with strong supporting characters and interesting individuals unique to each story. Lady Veronica was a true treasure. A friendship bloomed immediately with Dotty, Zach, and their friends. I loved the mystery and the confidence Keya had in assisting Sergeant Patrick (Paddy) Collins with the case. There were several suspects and Sujin knew them best so he was in the middle of the investigation professionally as a crime scene technician and personally. Dotty's keen sense of observation was key too. I was delighted to follow along as they worked through the clues and how little snippets of things Dotty heard from others finally all snapped into place to pin the killer into a corner. The thing I like most about Ms. Tait's writing is her attention to detail. Everywhere the characters traveled, what they were wearing, and all the things they looked at or noticed were crystal clear in my mind because of her words. The dialogues and interactions felt true to life. It is easy to escape into a story when it is so well written. Halloween Parade Peril is a marvelous addition to this series. The characters are appealing and entertaining. The mystery was well-plotted and intriguing. The setting was fabulous. I would love to travel to Ireland someday. I appreciated this little virtual vacay very much. The next book in this series, Yuletide Market Murder, will be released on November 22. I also need to catch up on Keya's Waterwheel Cafe Mystery Series. I am not sure how I got behind but will rectify that soon. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC. hear my thoughts, for i am now you! - ophelia impression meme ( accepting! )
/ This isn’t the first of his smile, surely not the last of it either. /
“Why, look at this pretty stone I found, mother! Isn’t it --” she pauses, lowering the stone and shifting her gaze towards the piece of parchment. To some, it may be a bit difficult to understand anything written on the sheet, but to her, it’s coherent. Her handwriting is perfect, not if she puts sentences really close together. “No, the tiny dragon being’s words wouldn’t be ‘mother’. More of a ‘mama’ then ‘mother’. Hm, mama seems a bit... odd of me.”
Still, she clears her throat and shuffles back in place -- not minding the disturbed glance from a passing student. It’s far from judging, just... concerned. Truthfully, seeing a female outside the monastery’s walls holding what seemed to be an enchanted stone while acting completely... immature, would cause a similar sense of unease. Unfortunately, the heroine is simply blind to such an emotion.
“Ahem! Mama, look! The lake almost froze over but to the thanks of fate, I managed to uncover the stone from underneath a veil of ice. Such a beaming color it takes, right? I -- no, push down the senseless vocabulary and lock them away. Only I, Ophelia Crimson, can use such language. Prince Kana veers towards casual tones and smiles. Alright, from the top scripted line, once more!”
A few moments more before she sets down the stone and scribbles ink over the paper. Ophelia pulls another sheet from her journal and unfolds it -- pressing down on the creases with a frown. “Maybe the plot thickens around a... oh! A group of bandits! Perfectly thought of, goodness me.” She takes refuge beside the trunk of a mighty tree, and begins to write. “The bandits -- as they are proposed to -- want the shimmering spellbound stone in dear Kana’s hands, but he’s determined and will never fall underneath their lies! As the dragon would!”
It doesn’t take long for her paper to be cleared of it’s emptiness and her mind to be set. Ophelia rises to her feet and dusts off any particles lingering on her clothes. The stone’s safely against her palm, and she’s back at her initial spot. “This stone belongs to me! Besides, it’s not very commendable -- I mean, nice -- to steal from people. No matter, because I, Prince Kana, won’t allow you to!”
“Ophelia!”
If it wasn’t for her keen awareness, then the young girl would have almost doubted the voice ringing in her ears. Except, with a quick turn, she’s met with a pair of arms around her waist and a small yelp falls from her lips when her feet stagger backwards. It’s the laughter that causes her prior frown to fade, and a smirk makes way to her features.
“Oh, Prince Kana! I’m elated to be in your presence! Although this is quite pleasant, what thought has brought you to my location?”
“You’re missing something,” Ophelia blinks slowly, tilting her head to the side as her lips pursed, “my scarf!”
She doesn’t have time to question the dragon’s words before gloved hands reach up and a flash of navy blinds her for a moment. Whatever’s around her neck and pressing against her face is... soft. A bit of a rough material, but it’s comfortable, nonetheless. Navy’s a pretty shade and -- ah, wait, it’s Kana’s scarf, isn’t it? She pulls it down from her face and settles it over her shoulders, the smile on her face simply brightening at the helpful item.
“Of course, silly me! How could I forget such a significant accessory?! The most sincere of apologies, Kana, but now I can adapt and improve this script. With your aid and support!”
#dragon kiddos#ᴀ ɢɪꜰᴛ? ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴇʀᴏɪɴᴇ?! ᴏʜ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ɪꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴘᴜʀᴇ ɢᴏʟᴅ ɪ ꜱᴡᴇᴀʀ! ( inbox )#ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ꜱᴛᴏɴᴇ ᴍᴇᴀɴꜱ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴊᴜꜱᴛ ᴀꜱ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴄᴏɴꜱᴛᴇʟʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ꜱʜᴏᴡꜱ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴɢ. I was asked this question on my website by a reader. WHAT IS THAT DREAM GOAL THAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE BEFORE YOU DIE? My answer was my dream goal is to have ZEEKA CHRONICLES made into a movie or a TV Series. ZEEKA CHRONICLES: REVENGE OF ZEEKA by Author Brenda Mohammed, a multi-award winning science-fiction novel inspired by the recent scare of the zika virus, set in the year 2036, where zombies and robots take centre stage, will blow your mind. It is a mind-blowing, bold, and original 'other world' book to capture your imagination. You will be taken on a futuristic journey into the year 2036. The highly imaginative tales within would keep you spellbound. Zeeka and The Zombies is the first episode in the five spine-chilling episodes set on an imaginary Caribbean island called Gosh in the year 2036. Zeeka and the Zombies serve as an introduction to this mind-boggling series. Integrated into the mystery is a love story as well as a family drama. The combination of these three aspects in this collection makes it an exciting read. Persons who enjoy detective novels, romance fiction, or science fiction will love this book. The main character in Zeeka and the Zombies is Raynor Sharpe, a gynecologist who works at the main hospital on the island. He, together with the hospital's director and another doctor, Mark, were working at the hospital twenty years before when an outbreak of the zika virus occurred. The hospital delivered fifty-one stillborn babies from pregnant women who were infected with the virus during their pregnancy. However, it turned out that the babies were not buried but were, in fact, taken by someone evil, injected with a serum to bring them to life, and turned into programmable zombies, with the exception of nine which were flesh-eating ones. The secret is revealed when one of the zombies, Number Nine, appeared at the hospital, having been sent by the vengeful and evil Master Zeeka, to survey the scene so that he could attack the hospital in the future. But was he a real zombie? In the meantime, Raynor's love interest, Janet, also a doctor at the same hospital, told Raynor that she is engaged and plans to marry another doctor. She sent out invitations to all her colleagues, including Raynor. Raynor was always secretly in love with Janet but had never proposed to her although he had bought an engagement ring intending to do so. The plot thickens when the wedding invitation reveals that Janet's fiancé is Dr. Jason Stephens, who the police suspect of being Master Zeeka. Jason calls off the engagement with Janet and disappears. Raynor finally proposes to Janet and she gladly accepts. The police cannot find Master Zeeka, but Raynor and his new bride enjoy a magnificent honeymoon. The story continues in Zeeka's Child. The search for Master Zeeka intensifies. It turns out that the main suspect, Jason Stephens, is actually innocent. The real culprit is revealed and is a person who had kidnapped Jason when he was a child. Jason is Raynor’s older brother, Dr. Steven Sharpe who returns and reunites with his brother. Steven is the real hero in the series. Steven marries Mandy, Janet’s older sister. The police force launches a massive hunt for the real killer. In the third installment Zeeka Returns, the police hunt down the real killer and the nine flesh-eating zombies that accompany him in the jungle. These scenes are full of suspense and tension as we wonder whether the police officers would capture Master Zeeka or whether the zombies will destroy them. It turns out, however, that he is eventually captured, not by the police, but by Miranda, a beautiful female robot who had been employed by Raynor and Janet. Zeeka commits suicide while in custody. Just when you thought the story was over Zeeka returns in Zeeka's Ghost: Revenge of Zeeka 4. Zeeka is back but not how you expect. Unresolved issues, regrets, love, and a ghost, with the right mix of startling plot twists, makes this story a thrilling read. Who would want to kidnap Mandy, and why? Can Steven save her from the clutches of the kidnappers in time? A questionable character returns from one of the previous books in Resurrection: Revenge of Zeeka 5. He causes even more disarray in the lives of Steven and Mandy. Dr. Steven Sharpe's reputation is on the line when he attempts an unimaginable cure to help a man desperate for a new life. One more burning question is answered in this episode. The identity of Number Nine is revealed. This story closes Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka series on a high note. The many twists and turns in this series make it exciting, thrilling and suspenseful. Here is the latest Review by an Australian Reviewer: “A reviewer said: "An entertaining read filled with suspense. A science-fiction story with lingering themes on human flaws and goodness. As a teacher/student this would make a great comparative study to Frankenstein or Shakespeare's plays, with love, lies, and revenge as persistent human traits. Set in 2036 the unnerving accuracy of being in an era where we encounter robots as part of our daily lives takes the reader on a journey through time where human values, some negative and some are imperative to the improvement of the human condition. If you're not a zombie fan, this book will draw you --destined to shock and delight." N.B. Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka was an award winner in the Category Young Adult Thriller in Readers Favorite International Awards 2018, winner in Science Fiction in SIBA Awards2017, winner of the gold award in the category science fiction in Connections EmagazineReaders' Choice Awards 2018, and winner in the top ten finalists for science-fiction in the Author Academy Global Awards 2018.
