Chapter six.

I stirred up from my sleep, I blinks softly trying to adjust light coming out from the glass window. I looked around, a whimper left my mouth — my body was painfully sore. Like my body just passed over by the giant truck.

I sat up, and covered my naked self from the white sheets.

I sighs softly, wiping my face. The exhaustion was all over me still. The pain between my legs was barrable but it still hurts.

With courage, i sat up. I hold the table slowly and walked towards the washroom and opened warm and just stood under it.

The warm water traveled down my body, making me feel a little better.

He kissed my neck, and my lips. But this time it was a gentle kiss.

I was surprised.

His hand went to my hair, holding them in fist. Jungkook took a sharp inhale through his nose and kissed me hungrily. The gentleness fades away.

My back met the cold marble tiles.

He grabbed my thighs wrapping around his waist, he lifted me up. I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist and was afraid I would fall.

And some plates breaking on the floor.

I heard her grunt.

My heart dropped. "Halmeoni? Halmeoni are you okay?" I stood up and paced in my room, my hand shaking.

"Halmeoni? Answer me! What happened! Hello?" Tears gathered in my eyes. Is she okay? Did she fall? Did she have a heart attack?

The line went silent.

I panicked more.

I need to go to Damyang, I don't care how and when.

I ran downstairs, tears blurred my vision. I ran downstairs carelessly. Tripping in the last stairs but taehyung caught me.

His face twitched instantly.

"Flower calm down, what happened?" His voice strained, looking down at me. Jaw clenching trying to figure out what happened.

But i was too badly sobbing.

What if she died? I have only her.

I gulped down the other sob that wanted to come out. "M-my grandma called - a-and i think something happened to her. I heard her fall or something. She isn't okay! Take me to damyang."

"Flower, damyang is three hours away from here. I'll just call anyone and they'll bring her to the hospital and we'll go there okay?" Taehyung whispered reassurance, he pecked my lips.

I closed my eyes.

I took a deep breath.

Letting my guards down for a moment.

"I'll call." Jimin said in a strained voice, my gaze went to him. He and Jungkook were standing there too. The trio was awfully calm.

Jimin called someone, and more like ordered them to get my grandma to the hospital. It was unsettling to know that he knows my grandma's house no. I don't think i ever mentioned it before.

I shake my head. This isn't the time.

"Let's go now hm? She'll be okay." Jungkook cupped my face and tilted my head making me look at his dark eyes. I gulped softly and nodded.

The car ride was silent - i was sitting on the back seat beside taehyung and Jimin driving and Jungkook on the passenger seat.

I was leaning on the window looking outside, my head filled with worry for my grandma. She has always been there for me, through thick and thin.

She raised me up with love and tenderness.

She's my family, and she's getting older too lately.

I just can't digest that fact.

Tears blurred my vision again, but i blinked them softly. I don't want to have a mental breakdown. Especially in front of them.

I felt his hand on my thighs, i looked at taehyung. I was about to remove it but he showed me his look - Don't.

I sigh softly, I don't have the energy to deal with his twisted mindset right now.

Taehyung leaned in close, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered sweet nothing words, meant to comfort and soothe my troubled heart.

But instead of bringing her relief, his words twisted her stomach into knots, leaving me feeling confused and conflicted. I was torn between the desire to lean into his embrace and the urge to push him away.

A growl left his mouth.

"Don't fucking do that." He rasped, tightening his arm around my waist pulling me impossibly close. I gasped softly as our nose touched. I felt his breath on my lips like. A soft caress. "Unless you want your pussy fucked in the back seat."

I breathed out. I opened my mouth to form some words but only came a broken sob.

He shushed me, his nose nuzzled against my cheeks dragging his nose towards my throat traveling to my crock of my neck inhaling deeply, kissing sensitive skin under the ear.

The rush to the hospital is a blur of blood. Stained hands, soaked in sin, carry you out to the car. Clarlet carnage covers everything it touches; their skin, the midnight air, it even seeps into the seats. 

Jimin and Jungkook are frantic to force themselves into the backseat. They sit side by side with you laying limply over their laps. Your head is held in Jimin’s hands. He cradles you with care and caresses your soft skin. You’re turnt to face the front of the car in case you spit up any more scarlet. The cold air creeps into your lungs. It’s a comforting contrast compared to the fiery heat that incinerates your insides. 

Taehyung speeds down the streets, missing multiple turnoffs in his mindless panic. Every bump he hits along the road results in cruel curses and scolding from the boys in the backseat.

The night sky looks like an inked artwork. Blue stars bleeding out into the black; their loss of light mirroring your own. It rushes by in a restless haze. Blots of blood stain your vision. The starry sky keeps you company as you sink further into a fatal sleep. 

The first time you wake, you’re blinded by everything at once. The white-hot overhead lights burn your retinas. Their image lingering even as you screw your eyes shut. You blink back the burn and let your eyes scan over the unfamiliar room. White walls stare straight through you. An alcoholic taste burns at the back of your throat. A sterile smell makes you sick. All these unknown sensations swarm you at once. 

The heart monitor picks up the pace, sending sirens off in the two men’s minds. Jimin tightens his grip on the hand he was already holding. He squeezes three times and watches while you panic, feeling frozen from your unexpected awakening. Your eyes roll rampant in their sockets; overwhelmed with information and foreign feelings. Taehyung takes over, forcing your attention on him instead. He pushes back the sweaty strands of hair that stick to your forehead. Then he grabs your jaw in a gentle grasp, whispering words to calm the chaos.

“Shhh, sweetheart, go back to sleep.” He cradles your cheek in his hand, creating a makeshift pillow for you to lean into. “The doctor said you shouldn’t be awake so soon. Go back to sleep, we’ll still be right by your side when you wake up.”

Jimin pulls up the blankets to sit at your shoulders. He lays on the edge of the blue bed; head having sunken into the side of your pillow. His hair is sprawled out everywhere, tickling your neck when he attempts to crawl closer. He puts his hand over your face, slowly passing over you to shut your eyes.

You’re dragged back off to dreamland by their sweet songs. They sing lovesick lullabies that send you off to sleep in seconds. The last thing you spot is Jungkook walking into the room. His face is sunken with a certain type of sadness. A doctor lingers out in the hall, clipboard and consoling frown falling off his face. 

The second time you wake is much more tranquil than the first. This time, the lights are dimmed to drench the room in darkness. The steady beat of your heart monitor gives you something to focus on. The air lingers with the lasting scent of Taehyung’s cologne. You lift your head up from the pillow, trying to pull yourself up to look around. Two sets of hands push you back down.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t rush. You’ll end up straining yourself.” Jungkook stares at you while he speaks. A pitiful smile pulls at his lips. Trying to act as if the isolating room isn’t alive with pain and panic. “How you feeling?”

“Are you hurting at all? Do you need a doctor? Never mind, I’ll get one anyways.” Jimin’s words are tangled with terror. He tries not to show it on his face, but his words are weak and erratic. Before he can get up to go grab a doctor, you tighten your hold on his hand, keeping him sat in his seat.

“No, I’m okay. Just a bit sore.” The words claw themselves up your throat in a croaking tone. You swallow against the dryness and wince with discomfort. 

With the help of Jungkook, you sit up to take in more of your surroundings. All three of them sit in front of you. Jimin sitting at your side, Jungkook standing with your hands still interlocked, and Taehyung laying down at the foot of the bed. All of them watch with worry, waiting for what you’ll say next.

“What happened?” It’s a simple start, and you can already assume the answer, but the suffocating silence pushes you to speak.

Taehyung tries to speak his thoughts, but he ends up sputtering like a fish out of water. Jimin takes a look at Tae and tries not to tear up. Sick memories massacre his mind. His nose twitches as stray tears swim in his eyes. He attempts to hide his emotion, turning away from your questioning eyes.

Jungkook jumps in when it’s obvious the silence has been strung out for too long. “You just got out of surgery and the doctors said it was internal bleeding.” He skirts around the obvious accident that caused it. “They also said you’ll be in here for a couple days at the least. Just so they can keep an eye on you and make sure you don’t tear open your stitches.”  His line of vision lingers on your stomach. 

You follow his lead and look down. Although, you can’t see the damage stuffed under your scratchy hospital gown, you can still feel the strike of pain. White bandages that wrap around you like rope and silver stitches pulling at your sickly skin. Thoughts of the damage hiding in the dark bring a grimace onto your face. Your injuries are all stashed away on the inside. Your only though is that you feel worse than you look.

“Was it that bad?” You turn your eyes up to stare at Jungkook.

He hesitates for a solid second. Your words have whispers of a deeper, more dreadful meaning. His head twists your words into a torturous truth. Because you aren’t really asking about the accident. You may have asked him ‘Was it that bad?’, but all he can hear is ‘Are you that bad?’ He hurt you so horribly that it almost invoked the dawn of death. This torturous truth is too much for him to handle, too much for any of them, including you… so he lies.

“It’s nothing to worry about. We’ll take care of you, like we always do.” Jungkook speaks his sweet lies with a sorrowful smile. Everyone else mimics the same miserable grin. You listen to his white lies, but this time you’ll try to trust them. 

You eat a somber dinner of things that are barely solid. A simple soup, soggy bun, and jello that’s supposed to serve as a delicious dessert. You poke at it with your fork, watching as the red blob bounces around. Taehyung nudges your shoulder, silently telling you to stop. You can feel his watchful stare straight through your skull, actually, you can feel all their eyes at once. Their anxious eyes only settle when you start picking away at your plate. The food tastes like poison as it passes through your throat. Your appetite has slipped away from you ever since the surgery. But, with the boys acting all antsy and irritated at everything that hurts your health, you force down the food in order to ease their anxiety. 

Each man nurses their own coffee in their hands. Taehyung watches the hot liquid swirl around in his cup. He’s reckless with the way he handles it, anxiety jumping at the slightest sound and spilling the drink down his hands. Red and angry marks wrap around his arms. Blisters burned deep into his skin; yet he doesn’t seem to acknowledge the pain. He keeps his attention towards you. Trying to be subtle, stealing glances at you every so often. Watching for any discomfort, making sure you eat at least half your food, and studying the bittersweet sadness staining your face. 

Jimin downs his 4th drink before you’ve finished your food. You make a mixture of your meal, poking and prodding at it. Sometimes Jimin has to hold himself back from force feeding you. Stress stretches him apart, tearing at his mind, his lungs, and his heart. He hates seeing you so pale and so sad. So he helps out with hidden motives. He takes bits and pieces off your plate, eating small bites before holding the rest up to your mouth. He doesn’t let you shrug off his advances, so you end up eating more than you’d like.

Jungkook stirs up his coffee into something sweet. 6 packets of sugar and sweetener sink into the bitter blackness. He adds cream to his concoction and stirs until the sour taste dies down. 

You stop eating when everything is half of what it once was. Not too sure how much more your stomach can handle. You push away your plate, trying to pass it over to Taehyung to get rid of. 

“Just take one more bite.” He tries to encourage you, pushing the plate back into your arms. He takes a scoop of the jello with your spoon, the easiest to eat, and holds it in front of your mouth. 

“I don’t think I can.” You look down at the plate, feeling intimidated by such a simple task.

“Just one more.” Taehyung stares straight into your eyes. His insistent nature has become normal for you. Normal enough to know that he won’t take ‘No’ for an answer.

You let out a soft sigh and take the spoon in your mouth. It's a difficult task to force the food down your throat. The texture and taste turns your stomach. As soon as you swallow it down, you know you never should have. Regret almost comes rushing out as you struggle to stand and run to the bathroom. The boys fall behind, faces clouded in confusion. 

Your knees hit the floor with a heavy fall. Fragile form collapsing under the weight of your weakness. You hug the toilet seat tight to your body and hang your head over the inside. Within seconds everything you ate is spilling out of you. The sight of scarlet jello mimics blood from the present past. 

A crash is heard out in the other room. Taehyung comes in, colliding with the door and dropping down to his knees. He acts out of adrenaline, gathering your hair in one hand and resting the other on your back. He rubs soothing circles into your skin, whispering words of encouragement.

“It’s alright. Just let it out.” He locks eyes with Jimin as he enters the room. He sits down at your side, pressing a peck against your temple. He hushes your cries and keeps trying to tame the trembles that rack your body. 

Jungkook gets a glimpse at the sorry sight and is immediately scrambling out of the room and screaming for a nurse. Head spinning with imprinted images of your red and raw lips. A bloody tint that throws his mind back to before.

Even after you’re sure you’ve thrown it all up, you gag on the metallic taste that lingers in your mouth. A rotten taste that tangles with your raspy cry and tints your teeth. 

There are tears streaming down your face. Throwing up everything you just ate has left you feeling empty and aching. Jimin and Taehyung still stroke soothing motions down your back. Jimin pries your hand away from where it grabs the porcelain bowl in a death grip. He intertwines his hand with yours and lets you squeeze it wherever another sense of nausea rolls around. 

Two nurses come running into the room. Unfamiliar faces set the two boys on edge. Jimin clutches your hand closer to his heart. Taehyung shifts his body in front of you, trying to keep you out of sight.  Jungkook is the one to push them both out of the way so they can help you, but he never strays far, always hovering with a possessive stance and protective eyes. 

The two nurses appear anxious in the presence of such intimidating stares. They’re hands sweat and shake as they offer up more painkillers and check to see if your stitches have torn. And when the nurses have nothing more to help you with, they’re fast to flee the room.

You’re settled in bed once again. You find yourself falling asleep as an IV drip digs deep into your arm and the painkillers put a heavy haze in your head. 

Jimin squeezes in at the side of your bed, Taehyung crawls in close, and Jungkook holds your hand. They cradle you close. You’re smothered to sleep by careless kisses and whispered wishes. You’re sent off to slumber chasing a delicate dream of a different life. 

The rest of your stay at the hospital looks relatively the same. You’re smothered with affection in the form of sweet sorrys. The three men do everything they can to make up for the incident, everything but actually acknowledge it. No one speaks a word of that night. Nothing goes past a simple sorry when alluding to it. Instead, they’re eager to show their remorse through action and affection.

Jimin hasn’t left your side since the surgery. He lays beside you in the bed, having squeezed in during the dark silence of your dreams. You wake every morning only to end up caged in his iron grip. 

Sometimes he sits in the steel chair at your side. Cast aside whenever Taehyung or Jungkook has decided he’s pestered you enough. He never backs down without an argument. But one look at your exhausted expression and his angry words begin to die down. He taps the metallic chair in time with the clock. The tuneful ticking and copious amounts of coffee are how he distracts himself from drifting off into a dream. In all honesty, he’s been scared to sink back to sleep. The last time he found himself falling asleep, he woke to you bleeding out on the bathroom tile. 

Taehyung takes most authority when it comes to distracting you from your discomfort. He turns your attention to the shows playing upon the TV. He gives you his portions of pudding at meal time. And drowns out any signs of discomfort with his tender touch. 

Jungkook is the only one who acts the most distant. A simple side effect of taking on the brute end of your beating. His shame feels like the same shackles used to hold you down. A cold chaos harrows at his heart. He feels the bitter burden of his wrongdoings with every breath he breathes. He turns over his thoughts in the silence, and sorts through his sinful emotions while you sleep. He refrains from talking too much. Only chiming in on conversations when it includes your health or happiness. 

He listens to the doctors lecture him on how to take care of you, sinking further into his shell with every sentence because he’s only done the opposite thus far. He watches while the nurses talk him through how to re-wrap your bandages when needed. He struggles to keep his hands to himself. Biting back his tongue whenever they touch your blooming bruises and you flinch. The nurses nurturing hands roam your body with innocent intentions. Applying balm to your bruises and wrapping you up in white. But when your eyes twinkle with tears unshed, the three men shout and shut them out of the room without any rebuttal. 

They take matters into their own hands, knowing their tender touches are still too tense. You shed some tears and take your lips between your teeth, trying to hide the pain that’s more prominent than before. 

They take matters into their own hands, knowing they’re worse for you than anyone else. But they’re blinded by love and can’t let their butterfly fly away. 

The day you’re told you’ll finally be discharged is one you’ve all been looking forward to. They carry you out to the car once again, this time with much less gore and guilt. The scenery blurs by from where you watch out the window. The spring season seems to melt together with the high speeds Jungkook is driving. 

They’ve all been acting more restless and rash as the days go on. Impatient and eager to keep you hidden in their home. Protected from prying eyes and devils in disguise. Naive to the fact that they themselves are the real mask-wearing monsters. 

The rest of the drive drones on. Each building that passes more boring than the last. Instead, you fix your focus on the three men that surround you. Taehyung wouldn’t take no for an answer when he insisted you sit on his lap. So now you rest against his chest with his arms wrapped around your waist. His fingers skim across your stomach, soothing away the sickness that still remains. He does anything to avoid the white wraps that stick to your stitches. A pang of pain hits him in the heart every time he’s reminded of that night time nightmare. He walks his fingers across your waist, trying to kill time and relax his restless nature. Sometimes his hands stray away from your stomach and shove Jimin instead. 

In his sleeping state atop your legs, he tries to catch up on the sleep he’s missed before you get back home. Too hysterical in the hospital and too obsessed over your well-being, he developed a sort of insomnia. However, this tiny sliver of sleep he finally gets is full of disturbances. As his dreams drift into a tortured terrain, his body begins to tremble in terror. Shifting in his sleep and almost smacking his arm into your stomach if Taehyung wasn’t there to pull him away. 

During the rest of your drive, each man continues to fight their angry and anxious feelings. When you arrive at your house, nothing much has changed. They cling onto you like a second skin and still struggle with their self-loathing. 

Yet their sorry words and tear-stained eyes will never be enough. Not when they know you both are bound to destroy each other. Not when this cycle of crimson chaos will continue till the end. 

Even when they love you the most, stricken with guilt and grief, willing to do anything you ask, their lovesick obsession only serves to make matters worse. They hold you too tight, kiss you too rough. Their love is slowly sending you to an early grave. Yet you chose to be ignorant to their insanity. Developing tunnel vision to their love and ignoring all else.  And when you slip up again, when they snap again - you’ll pretend it never happened. Harbouring hope in a broken heart. Trying to be someone you aren’t in order to survive. Their love is like poison and their hate is like hell. Staying alive with three lovesick psychos, all you can rely on is hope.

AYS - Jeju trip /my recap/

Now that all of the Jeju episodes have aired, I've come back to quickly share my opinion. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion and speculation, you are more than free to disagree with me.

Overall, I managed to enjoy the episodes despite my initial hesitation. I was 50-50 about the first episode and I liked the other two. It wasn't a full love because while watching, I couldn't relax completely knowing how certain things would be twisted later on, but overall I enjoyed Jeju much more than I anticipated.

Let's start with the obvious difference between Jeju and NY, namely "the guest". TH's presence didn't add anything of value for me, apart from some cute Vmin moments and very few but still cute Vminkook ones. His being there didn't show me any new insight into their relationships, and there was no major change in either Vmin or Taekook. Even though Tae and JK spent a lot of time together in the first half of 2023, I didn't see any change in their dynamics or any new emotional depth to it. As many people have already said, JK and Tae together are two kids bouncing off each other's energies. They really bring out the immaturity in each other, and even if I tried, I could not get any romantic vibes from their interactions. Jk made it abundantly clear that TH being there was something he didn't choose and even seemed mildly annoyed by it the first day.

When it comes to JM and JK, this trip also didn't show anything new for me, but rather things I've always associated them with - their own private jokes, their being in sync with each other at all times, just existing in their own little world. They really do click. I loved their scenes at the pool, both days, I loved that JK is JM's personal chef, I loved that JM always pays attention to what JK is doing, even when driving, I loved their little joint routine at all times of the day. This really was JM and JK's trip through and through, and even a third party being there didn't really change anything. The only time we didn't have the signature JK and JM interactions was when JM was feeling unwell, after that they were back to their usual antics.

Jeju to me showed them being as close as ever. None of the tension and awkwardness from NY was present, which means that whatever issues they previously had, it was all resolved between the two trips.

As for them individually, I would say I am more and more and more amazed with Jimin with every new footage of this man I see. Firstly, he is just so naturally uniquely gorgeous. I kept staring at his bare face and wondering how one person could be so pretty even when sleeping, driving, and feeling sick. It's just like magic to me. More than that, he is just a class act through and through. He is polite, fun, considerate, energetic, just the whole package.

When it comes to JK, I would say he is a special person and probably a lot to handle in real life. He can be really sweet and his love language is definitely acts of service, but he also has an immature side to him. Maybe that comes from being the youngest and I think it was especially amplified because he was with the youngest members who always let him off easily. I think he is very kind-hearted, definitely not mean-spirited like some people make him out to be, but he is also a little bit impulsive at times. Personally, for me, he would probably be a little too much to handle in real life, but I can see that JM for sure knows how to handle him really well. As for JK's feelings towards Jimin, I think this boy lives and breathes for Jimin's attention. When JM is near, he is downright obsessed with having his eyes on him. He truly is like a big energetic, sometimes unruly puppy, wanting to be played with, praised, and loved upon. I can't really blame him, though. I, too, would turn into a clown or a personal chef, if it meant having Park Jimin's love and attention directed at me. In my opinion, nobody could truly deserve Jimin, but it is clear that Jimin truly adores Jungkook.

Jeju definitely showed that Jm and Jk have a very special type of relationship. The vibes between them were as weird as ever and it left me with more questions about the nature of their relationship than answers, but then again, this is also nothing new. 2023 Jikook remains confusing to me, but I am okay with that.

In conclusion, I liked the Jeju trip and I am not afraid to admit I love the solo parts between Jm and Jk the most. After all, this is what I paid for and wanted to see from the beginning and I am glad there were still plenty of JM and JK solo interactions. While these three episodes were better than what I expected them to be, I am the most excited about the upcoming Japan ones. I must admit I dreaded the Jeju episodes a little bit, which is why I actually didn't watch the first two right away, but I am fully, and 100% excited about Japan.

I agree, I think the main character was always meant to be their relationship. I think when they were planning the show that must have been a discussion, because it would be self-evident once they were traveling together, same as it came out so strongly when they were in BV3 and walking around together. Obviously the jeju episodes were hijacked so to speak (but imo mostly served to show us the incredibly intimate bond Jikook share), but yes, the main character is that, it is meant to show us them, as they are. They said this too in their first intro.

I also think it was a way for JM to make up to JK for his busy period, and spend quality time being free to travel together. They obviously say that to open the show, so it is not a reach. But, it is more than that, I think he truly does care about JK and his happiness. He also says that a few times in jeju and in Sapporo so far, as long as JK is happy, that is what mattered, and I am like that in my relationship. It truly shows how much they both care for each other.

I love that in episode 6, all they really do is check into their hotel, eat snacks, go to a 7/11, eat more, talk, go to bed. Then JM is there calling JK into the bathroom to take a selfie because 'they made memories here'. it is so sweet, because really all I think he is referring to is them being together, enjoying the normal/mundane things. Then they go on to do more of that, walking the snowy streets to go find food, coffee and ride a train. Things a lot of us will take for granted, often complain about probably. I know they had a lot of staff to protect them/look out for their wellbeing, but we have. to remember they are used to that, and so for them, it is just being out and about on a normal day, doing normal things, together.

I'd definitely be interested to learn a little more about the scope of AYS and how it developed. I've still been thinking about the idea of the relationships as the main character and how that could have developed throughout the production. It's been a while since I've watched Bon Voyage but I don't think the same could be said there. BV is absolutely modeled after typical travel shows where the journey/destination becomes the chief focus.

I do think there was space for the Jeju eps to open the focus to all three members' relationships and I do believe it was mostly successful. It's one of the reasons why all of the pool segments didn't feel repetitive, there was a different mixture of members each time: taekook, jikook, vminkook. Even though they recreated some of the same bits in each subsequent scene, they weren't cut our of the edit because it didn't feel like repeat moments due to the changing dynamics and thus fulfilling the goal of exploring the differing relationships.

On a complete sidenote, while we're sharing lovely bursts of joy from ep 6, let me share mine about the memories moments as well. I have a family history of memory loss-related illnesses so I've always been hyperaware of my own shortcomings with my memory and made my peace with the likelihood that I will have my own journey on that path as well. There was a phrase I heard years ago that has given me a lot of comfort: our character has still been influenced by those we love even if we lose the memories associated with them.

This episode spending so much time talking about making memories in such a sweet way just reminds me how much Jimin and Jungkook want to have eachother influence their character. They have so many extraordinary events in their lives and while they may not remember the exact day-to-day detail, they have absolutely helped shape the other's character. I just think it's especially lovely.

some "controversial" thoughts on are you sure:

jungkook's ideal scenario is probably that jimin sides with him in situations but especially when he's right. jimin claimed he knew it was pink sausage but he still sided with tae and I think that is is what made jungkook snap at him. we've seen numerous times that jimin tries to get the rise out of jungkook, obviously in a joking way, which he wouldn't be doing if jungkook was snapping at him like that all the time. he also said he enjoys doing this (and being scolded by jungkook) which says it all about how bs people's 'concerns' are.

as a side note I also notice that tae in his role as the hyung 'polices' jungkook's behaviour a lot more than jimin ever does.

tbh I'm not a big fan of the times when vmin would speak about jungkook in front of his face like he isn't there about how he can beat their (well tae's) ass up or how much he's eating. I know it's all jokes between friends and stuff but at the end of the day I do not think jungkook deep down enjoys that because no one would. and jimin only does this when tae is there, so I think while the entire vminkook dynamic is quite sweet, from some reactions in the past such as jungkook's initial reaction to tae coming to Jeju and his reaction during his live on his bday when vmin turned up at this house together kinda tells me he's not always a big fan of vmin ganging up on him. no one talks about it but I find it interesting how jikook's dynamic changes when tae is there because of how jimin interacts with tae.

throughout the Jeju episodes we didn't get anything sentimental or anything about vminkook (that we were shown) which is realistic but as much as people hype vminkook up, between the three of them I didn't see anything 'special'. they're just 'normal' friends who bicker and get along fine and have a massive history to share and they will probably always love each other, be there for each other and have that bond but I do wonder if they never met in bts would the 3 of them be friends in the same way. I'm not that sure tbh. especially in terms of travelling together since jikook have their things they wanted to do (and let's be real, they don't totally enjoy the same things but they enjoy making plans that they know the other will enjoy) which tae may not have chosen to do himself. tae's 'workout' was also interesting. if I'm being cynical, just watching the episodes I got the feeling tae came along to get a free holiday and spend some time with jimin and some limited time with jungkook but he increasingly let jikook be which to be fair to tae I have to wonder was because they kept calling him guest kinda making it obvious him being there wasn't their first preference. but I did really like that no one played anything up for the fans/cameras and we truly got to see them without fanservice or having tasks like writing each other letters and whatnot.

overall I liked the Jeju episodes and I know jungkook said they were better because tae was there but I have to disagree on that if I'm completely honest (and I wonder how much he really thought that vs said it because he's a nice person who always thinks about others' feelings and it was a nice thing to say). the best parts were when only vmin or only jikook were interacting (we hardly had taekook interact alone apart from the very beginning) so tbh...maybe it will change when they are back but I can lowkey see why vminkook as a trio were not hanging out together the year before Jeju. and it wasn't totally awkward but tae's position as the guest, if they weren't in bts and had the history they have with each other (aka they were just 'normal' people with 'normal' friendships) would have been a little bit painful for everyone involved imo.

namjoon kept being brought up to jungkook fascinated me because we have 1. joon saying he loves jimin the most 2. tae asking why joon didn't come to Jeju (he had joon on his mind tbf) and jungkook essentially saying no one would be invited lol 3. jimin teasing jungkook by pretending to jokingly tell on jungkook to namjoon when jungkook said he enjoyed travelling with the maknae line. I love namjoon and jungkook's friendship a fair amount but the dynamic between them both loving jimin the most and jungkook "winning" will always be fascinating to me.

I feel like throughout the entire show there is an undercurrent of us knowing jikook have a strong bond, them knowing we know, they don't explicitly say it but they act like it's a fact that's been establish that they don't have to 'prove' because everyone should and does already know it. there is literally 0 fanservice in this show in terms of them playing up their friendship for the cameras so that fans have cute moments to watch (as idols tend to do sometimes). and they do stuff like cuddle and play around but you can tell it's what they want to do and not something they do so that fans have something cute to watch. I also liked that they said they're not gonna argue in the military and I can 100% believe that seeing how much on the same page they are on everything. I honestly wasn't expecting them to be so in sync so consistently but it was so obvious that they always know what the other is thinking. if they truly didn't get to see each other a massive amount it obviously did not affect their bond or how well they know each other/how much on the same page they are. I would guess even if they have disagreements they know how to deal with it without full blown arguments because of 1. how well they know each other 2. how important they are to each other so that they make a conscious effort to get along well.

jimin keeps bringing up to people (first we saw with joon now with tae) that he and jungkook are enlisting together which tells me how it's a big deal/something important for him and I feel like he enjoys letting people know about it and establishing their (jikook's) closeness with this even more. they may never say the reason why they enlisted as companions but they certainly act like we already know the reason as if it's obvious, which tbh, it is. the reason being is that they just wanted to be there for each other. I mean they did actually say that. for the fandom to truly take it in though I think they expect jikook to literally spell it out like they are telling 3 year olds why they shouldn't eat a crayon lol

I actually forgot about V’s addition in this episode, but I was pleasantly surprised when I remembered and thoroughly enjoyed the three together.

But after my daily cruising Tumblr tags and tiktok vids and comments of episode 3 it appears that people’s IQs have lowered to room temperature at an alarming rate.

Yes, is it nice to see a ship you like have a show dedicated to some time to themselves, however, that does NAWT mean we decide to attack the addition of another member when they join in. Y'all are not body language experts, and y’all do not know these men’s true moods and personalities especially not through a damn tv screen. So please do not come on here with your magnifying glasses and your theories abt how they secretly hate Tae’s addition. They are grown men. They don’t like something, I am sure they will speak up if their alone time is really that important to them especially when it's with someone as close to them as Tae.

Another thing for considering, they are literally never fully alone on this trip anyways, they’ve got 25 cameramen and drones, a hidden bodyguard or two probably-cause every ARMY will not be like that sweet girl in the store-and managers with them the whole time.

I’m trying to see some highlights and instead I gotta see goofy comments calling this a filler episode, calling Taehyung a third wheel, and that vminkook don’t have that good of chemistry together so it throws the episode off.

Just a heads up, I'm a Jikooker, but I come in peace ✌️

I really like your blog because of how grounded and respectful you are of bts members. I feel like only reading Jikook bloggers opinions kinda traps me in an echo chamber, so it's really nice to question my interpretation of Jikook interactions with different perspectives (sometimes we gotta admit we're being delulu kkkk). Your blog is perfect for that 'cause you're very chill and bring very interesting points, so you quickly became my fav taekook blog. I'm sorry for all the jikookers who come here to make a fuss.

To clarify what I mean when I call myself a Jikooker, I believe Jungkook and Jimin have a very special bond, be it platonic or romantic, they are best friends and care deeply for each other. They're the only duo that actually makes me raise some eyebrows, however, at the end of the day, I don't know these people so what do I know? ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ No matter who they're dating I'll always be happy for them and cheer them on.

Anyways, the reason why I'm here is 'cause I love Taekook's relationship and I wanna gush about it lol.

One thing that I noticed that's very sweet is that JK is very sensitive to how Tae is feeling, so you can frequently see, for example, Jimin not realizing when a joke hurt or annoyed Tae and JK coming in to defend and praise him. (Of course Jimin is very sweet as well, he has comforted Tae through his hardest times, he's just not good at reading Tae unless he expresses his feelings out loud)

That's why I think Taekook became closer than Vmin over the years. Now, I don't think Vmin is as close as they used to be because they don't understand each other well, but the way they hugged during Jin's military discharge made me remember that despite their distance, Vmin has a soft spot for each other. You know those friends who go months without talking but when a hard time comes, they're the first ones to be there for each other and vent out their feelings? I feel like that's Vmin.

Meanwhile, Taekook seems to understand each other very well. I'm not sure if it's cause they both show signs of possibly being nd, but Taekook just has a natural understanding of what the other means. You always see Jungkook and especially Tae, say things that shock and confuse the other members, but when you look at Taekook they frequently don't even realize the other said something "weird".

Ever since their talk in ITS, it's like Taekook became closer than ever. They bring up each other any time they can in interviews and lives, they hang out all the time and we got so many adorable photos of them together. I see a lot of people saying their interactions are awkward and they seem distant, but I think they're just not the most talkative people in general and are perfectly comfortable with silence, both of them are the type of people to let other people talk more and just respond once in a while. I think Taekook communicate through actions rather than words.

The only time I saw their interaction as awkward was that Livestream in 2020 where they were making those flowers(?)(I don't remember...) but even then I think it was more about their difficulty with conducting live streams than their relationship.

Obviously there’s things you and I will not agree on (I’ll not get into it, you know what those things are, I know what those things are, everyone does) but since vminkook-love-each-other is the biggest hill I will die on.. I’m always happy to see that this is something we can at least agree on and find enjoyment in 😊. I’m very much sure Jk, Jm, and Tae hate to read some of the stuff that goes around about them, so to see people acknowledge their closeness is really nice.

This is for @blue703 2019. The one where JK made the bear snow globe and gave it to Tae. Watch it again and watch them closely. Tae seemed to be off at the first part of their trip with JK constantly looking at him. He was giving Tae space but he looked wary and his focus was mostly on Tae. When they were all making the snow globes, Suga even said to Taehyung "Taehyung, you should learn to let go or else you will lose even those you already have." In essence, that's what his message was. Seems like Suga was helping JK out to "make up" with Taehyung.

Few things to note about Winter Package in Finland as well:

They blurred the names of who they picked to give their snow globes too, and I have a hunch that it's because JK didn't give the globe to the one he is supposed to give it to and broke the "chain" by giving his to Tae. Hence, you have Hobi quickly "remedying" the situation at the end by giving the globe he made himself to himself coz "he love his self" LOL!

TK were giving eo space the first day there, JK wasn't able to get much footage of Tae for GCF coz he didn't approach Tae in the 1st day activity. He got his footage when they seemingly made up already the next day.

I don't know when they actually "made up", but there was a shift in that "giving space to eo" to then clinging to eo after when JK cried while reading his own letter. Tae went over to him and comforted him. After this "scene", they were around eo more often and we got pleeeenty of domestic and sweet TK moments: photoshoot of JK backhugging Tae, JK smelling Tae's hair looking so domestic if you took a photo of that moment, Jk saying Tae is so innocent and Tae getting flustered etc.

When they were writing on their "trip diaries", JK seemed to have wrote the first lines of Kim Dong Ryul's "Like a Child": "When you said you love and accepted my love....." VMinKook were horsing around writing on their diaries. JK and JM wrote on Tae's diary, there was a page full of smileys which led to a prompt on the diary "remind someone you loved one you love them" and those lyrics where what was written above. Now, the most intriguing part is when Tae was reading what JK and JM wrote. You can see the moment he gasped on camera and got visibly moved almost like choking on tears. They were pretty much so cozy after they "made up". This was also when I notice a shift in JK being more "open" in his affections for Tae. Airport nape kiss, GDA Hug, Grammys clinging etc all happened after this trip.

They went to Finland in November 2019 for this. Another thing to note, the "Get out of your imagination" comment happened just days after TK made up and were so cozy, hence the "Tae put shippers into place" "He doesn't love Jungkook like that" comments don't make sense. He was literally being pampered and showered with love and affection by JK those days LOL!

I don't know what the cause of the "drama" was at first part of that trip. This was months (November) after JK and tattoo girl issue came out (September), they travelled to New Zealand (BV 4) when that news broke and TK seemed fine (but then they are filming so they must show they're fine BUT then clearly in Winter Package, Tae had no issue avoiding interactions with JK when they arrived in Finland so.... there's that too). What stood out to me tho is this trip happened a week after JK's minor car accident. He was apparently just few minutes away from Tae's house. I dont know if there's a connection to that and their lil "non-scenes" in Finland.

Oh also note that Tae must have stared writing Sweet Night around this time.

A little while ago, I posted about how although I am not owed an answer, I often sort of wonder what the motivations may have been for Jimin and Jungkook enlisting together. I can’t remember the replies I got, and they don’t matter now, but seeing their interactions in Are You Sure? I feel like I kind of slightly got an answer.

Once again, the actual status of their relationship is not what I wonder about. It’s the connection. I’m curious as to what they view each other as, and what about their bond led to them deciding they either weren’t able to or didn’t want to spend over a year apart, like they were going to do with their other very close friends.

The slight answer coming the show, is, “They don’t like being apart.”

Whether you think they’re dating or just friends, we can’t deny how things present from an outside perspective. They said in the car, they hadn’t seen much of each other and didn’t talk on the phone as much as they would have liked. The show was then choosing to rectify that, which they did and had fun doing. As a result of the show, they chose to go on even more trips together. Then in the middle of their second trip, they sent in applications to try and ensure they could enlist together.

No one is doing all of this for a paycheck. JM and JK are very popular soloists within the group, so it is fair to say fans may be more likely to watch their content, but then as a unit is not at all beloved. So while the show could be catering to Jikookers and trying to capitalize off of Vminkook and the hostility among shipping fans… that’s a waste of time. A travel documentary with any of the maknae line would have done well. A travel documentary pitched as a vminkook special would have done even better. Marketing a show centered around the two members nearly the whole fandom refuses to acknowledge are incredibly close, is bad business.

So imo, it makes the reality of AYS being scripted and fan service, less likely. On top of that, Jimin and Jungkook enlisted together. Their company has no say over that, and unless they paid them some pretty millions to do it, there is no other explanation other than, they wanted to.

Therefore, because the most reasonable thought process is that Jimin and Jungkook chose to travel together to reconnect, and chose to enlist using the buddy system, becahse they wanted to be around each other. Which is an easy conclusion to come to without the show, but I think the show just made it more clear that there isn’t (or so it doesn’t appear to be) any additional reasoning. Yall sitting here talking about Tae namedropping Jk, someone he publicly denied a relationship with, while I'm still thinking about him dropping Fri(end)s out of nowhere when he has a song called Friends with Jimin. And now I'm side eyeing Vmin more, since a few days ago we found out Fri(end)s was actually being worked on in 2020 during covid lockdown. 2020 as in the same year Vmin's Chingu/Friends came out? Same year Tae released 'are you my best friend' Sweet Night, after running around all that year saying Jimin's his only best friend & his only Chingu & recently said when you hear Fri(end)s you might think of Chingu, but its a love song saying I want to be more then your friend? Come again? So he was working on the song in 2020 & then confirmed he's been holding the final recorded song since 2021, the year he said Jimin I like you the most? Excuse you. I wish I was not a logical overthinker, cause I still don't get why he released a song with the same title as Jimin knowing their history with Friends & just dumped it on us while they're enlisted and after he said not long ago I will make another song similar to Friends with Jimin and did it & with the same damn title. More controversial take, but I don’t even think vmins relationship is all that special. It’s based on being same age friends and Jimins babying of Tae but there is no real substance there, at least not on Jimins part. Army hype up the relationship to a ridiculous degree, obsessively so, but take away the affection and what is there? It’s much more obvious they didn’t spend much time together in chapter 2, and I really want people to know that’s okay and it’s normal. People drift and come back together and the love remains, but to me it highlighted how their bond doesn’t extend much outside of work, where as it is so obvious Jikook share life together.

I know the show isn’t a hard launch of Jikooks relationship (whatever it is) but it isn’t not a hard launch. I mean the enlistment should have done that, shocked people to the core but nope, so the show is it. To me it’s them saying we’re close, deal with it, in a way in which we haven’t seen before. Like jkks know they are but Army at large ignore it, and although they still do, they are showing us them. They said that themselves so I know that’s the point. You can see it so clearly it’s impossible to ignore, highlighted even more by Tae’s presence.

Blogger stormy answered an ask earlier about FS in the show and if it’s present, it’s the ot7 mentions. And whilst I don’t think those mentions are forced, that is so true imo. The notion of the ot7 bond is what keeps BTS going, but I think chapter 2 did give them a much needed break, and time apart, again absolutely normal. These are young men, they need space to live their own lives. But the mention of others was sweet, Jimin calling Joon seeing as he was the only huyng not in MS at the time. It’s probably like calling your dad lol. Joon being the only one who turned to see Golden live counts for something in terms of namkooks relationship. Still though, it proves my thoughts and I think Goldy has said this before, that Jimin is the glue that holds them together for the most part. They all love him lots and he’s their centre I think, he tends to do the most ot7 FS (not a negative). It’s no wonder sometimes JK gets hurt in the process (not always on purpose aka the teasing), but man’s got him some alone time with Jimin and book Tae is there. Must have been frustrating. And for him saying it was better with Tae there, he literally followed what Jimin said first. But that’s the ot7, I don’t actually think they were serious, and obviously wanted to be alone, as it was meant to be for the two of them.

I just love the intimacy and domesticity they have, it’s so natural to them, like breathing, I’ve been in a relationship for 8 years and it reminds me of myself and my partner, of when you’re in your own world (we have no kids so have that freedom to be just us), they leave no room for others, and if they do it’s minimal. Although busy chapter 2 will have allowed them time to be them, no group work or content, no members breathing down their throats or trying to separate them. Just time for them, and it shows.

thank you for your thoughts anon and I agree, the show highlighted jikook's 'chemistry' as even the teasers called it😂I thought the same about vmin for a while (few years lol). I don't necessarily trust that when I see people hype something up between members that it's because something is actually there. I think it's more that those people want vmin to be soulmates (forever) so they will keep insisting on that. which I can sympathise with because if after the military jikook were less close, it would hurt me a lot (not afraid to admit that lol) cause I'm invested in their (first of all) close friendship so I would be delulu about it for a while for sure. but in terms of dynamics, I think from around 2016/2017 is when the vminkook dynamic changed and it was when jikook became closer. I do think everyone in bts loves jimin the most though and like you said he is the glue in that respect. jimin always wanted jk tho even just in the sense that some people like having their person (even as just friends, there's two people at my work who def come as a duo of friends and one is a woman married with kids, the other is guy in a long term relationship with his boyfriend, not saying that jikook are this but just saying that as an example that certain people like to have a partner like that and I get this vibe from jikook that they like having a 'partner'). I think for tae and (probably lol) namjoon it's a bit more to come to terms with because they'd like to be jimin's fav (with tae I also get the vibe that he himself wants to be everyone's fav for the sake of that popularity and adoration in addition to him loving jimin). but from 2017 on when jungkook finally started choosing jimin was when the decline between the soulmates started imo (and jk and tae at the same time as well). and since then the situation within the group is that it's jikook + X given member. they come as a duo and the members know it and it is obvious in AYS.

I think ot7 is fanservice but I also think especially jimin and yoongi are very into the concept of ot7 forever so as much as fans are invested in it, I think the members are too (some more than others). it's fanservice sometimes but it's also I think reassurance for them too? but with jungkook in particular he was always ot7, never claiming to choose a fav which I think is bc he's the youngest and he is careful not to hurt any of their feelings. altho he clearly has a fav and it's jimin lol he never really wants the others to feel like he loves them less I think (and that's when we get the 'jimin is not the main model' dramatics even tho he clearly is lol).

Wherever u r isn't a bad song, it's just nothing special. It's pretty, yet very basic. The lyrics are meh, but since they're unoffensive and make sense, that's good enough for me (looking at you, Jungkook). Umi's voice is pretty yet also basic, and she has that cursive style of singing (even the title is in lowercase and abbreviated) I don't exactly love. V's voice fits the song, but his accent is awful. He doesn't always sound bad in English - eg., the English trilogy - but when he sings in cursive with an English accent, it sounds like he has marbles in his mouth, as a Redditor once put it. It's very distracting. V could sing way better in English if he changed the way he sings. His accent isn't great, but I don't understand at least 70% of what Jungkook sings in his Golden b-sides and enjoy the songs regardless. Even with flawed pronunciation, songs can be enjoyable. The issue is how V chooses to sing in English. If he sang clearly like in Korean, it would be much easier to ignore his poor accent. Given how many people like to say Jungkook was only chosen for Seven because he's somehow's Hybe's favorite, I once again ask those fans if they can imagine V singing Seven and it becoming a hit song - no offense to V. He can sound amazing, but his English singing takes a lot of getting used to. My favorite V song is Sweet Night, which I adore - I love his voice in the song, how it combines with Adora's, and how romantic and full of yearning he sounds - but it took me some to get used to his English.

But it's sweet that he dropped the song on his birthday. Happy birthday, baby! I hope he gets some sort of special treatment or reward on his birthday - like a better meal, more phone time, leaving "work" earlier, or something like that.

Side tangent, I get that this song was released on V's birthday, and Jimin's song came out during Christmas, but aren't 2 songs in a week too much? Golden came out not too long ago, we're still processing Vminkook and Namjoon's enlistment, we have regular BANGTANTV episodes, BTS Monuments is airing, and it's the holidays so people are generally "busy"... Did we really need two songs? Couldn't Jimin's song have been released for Festa, or Valentine's Day or something? Since V's song's a collab and came out on his birthday, it would've made more sense to postpone Jimin's release instead. Are they really going to maintain this level of activity until June 2025? I know Jin comes back next June, and Hobi a few months later, but just how much stuff do they have prepared for us? I'm so behind already, I wish Hybe slowed down.

Wait but what is the difference between this conversation and Taekook’s ITS talk? Y’all have been the ones always talking about how Jikook is a ship pushed by the company and how the travel show was for fanservice and how the ITS talk was obviously scripted because why would the members choose to talk about feeling distant on camera? So I ask what is the difference? Why would the company that pushes Jikook and hides taekook air moments of Jikook talkinh about not calling each other? Jikook is not real. Taekook is not real. They are all just friends who go through the ebb and flows of life. Taekook went through a distant moment and in recent years we see that they have worked on that. Jikook also clearly did and we have to wait for the future to see how things would evolve with them.

In one of your posts you said Jikookers focus on the big moments and ignore the little things but that is not something only jikookers do. Taekookers do it too. As a matter of fact, I am sure that in the vminkook episode next week, Tae and Jk might alod say things which debunk the idea of them being a couple but y’all will ignore it too and focus on any other sweet moments we get. Y’all have literally been ignoring the things they’ve been saying for the longest time and finding ways to explain them away. Like now you are coming back at jikookers by talking about jikook talking about drinks as if Taekook literally didn’t say the same thing on ITS. So, I've seen this in my inbox a few times now.. mostly in rude asks.. I don't particularly like your tone, but I still wanted to talk about this. I'm fully aware you will not agree or see my point of view. I highly suspect that even though you might not be a Jkkr you have you strong own bias talking here.

I'm just gonna go rogue here. Jkk and Tkk are not the same. Jkkrs and Tkkrs are not the same. Our ideas about relationships and life and queerness and the music industry are different.

Jkkr's basically believe in the 'private not secret' idea. They think BH supports them and that Jm and Jk are able to be romantic and engage in sexual behvior on screen. That is because Jm and Jk had little to no limitations to how they were able to interact. They are pushed forward both as singers and as a friendship duo, and their ship is being pushed by the company. There are no mysteries, everything is clear. It's an unrealistic way of thinking about a queer couple in the biggest band from a homophobic country. I don't care if you think Jkkrs and Tkkrs are alike.. Jkkrs are actually insane for beliveing what they do about South Korea and the music industry and how they would deal with a queer couple. They are insane for thinking a queer couple from BTS would enlist together. I can forgive them for not being able to see through the differences between skinship and romance and friendship, but I cannot excuse them for being absolute idiots about how the world works.

Jkkrs (and you apparently) love the idea of the company allowing BTS members to be honest. That is such bs though. Idols have images to uphold. They will have actual clauses in their contracts that prohibit them from saying and doing things that will damage their image. This is true for most artists, if you think kpop artists (or BTS in particular) are exempt from those clause, you are naive. Kpop is known for their harsh contracts. We have seen how BH treated the members. They are not their friends. I think these days things are better. I think BTS is of such standard now that they have earned some freedom, but they are still under contract. BTS members are as honest as they can be with us, but they themselves have said that there are limits to what they can share.. and I absolutely think those limits firmly entail their relationships and sexualities.

While there are some Tkkrs who think Tae and Jk are 'private not secret', I think most would agree that they are a closeted couple. We have seen signs of them being in love, which made us believe they are in a closeted relationship. Everyone who knows about queer artists who have formerly been closeted, knows that it comes with lies. It isn't pretty, it's sad.. and it's hurtfull. But if you believe in the possibility of there being queer idols (and seriously, you'd be a fool not to believe that), you have to believe that some idols are at the moment closeted. I simply believe, that in order for Tae and Jk to stay closeted, measures were taken. The ITS talk having been one of them.

It isn't a case of looking at the ITS talk as an isolated event and thinking, that's fake. But in context, it just makes no sense. What makes sense though, is how the ITS talk is a continuation of how there has consitently been a push to have Tae and Jk look distant. I'm not going to go into a full discussion on the ITS talk, you can search my tags for that.. I have done so quite enough times.

So how are we different from Jkkrs? Our use of proof, context and understanding of bonds between members, our understanding of the music industry, our understanding of relationships, our understanding of friendships... and we're probably funnier too 😜
