General Lore - Formation of Cosmog and Evolution of Cosmoem
Unlike the majority of Pokémon, Cosmog are not hatched from eggs - instead, they are formed from the union of a Solgaleo and Lunala, quite similar to how stars form from nebula!
In this union, both the Solgaleo and Lunala shed some of their matter - this matter coalesces together, and then condenses, forming a new Cosmog!
Furthermore, the idea that a âfemaleâ Cosmoem evolves into a Lunala and a âmaleâ Cosmoem evolves into a Solgaleo is entirely incorrect - the line is sexless, after all. Instead, Cosmoemâs evolution depends on how bright its surroundings are, although NOT the time of day. The amount of light needed to evolve into a Solgaleo rather than a Lunala seems to depend on the individual Cosmoem, however, so there may be some truth to the idea that they are predisposed to one evolution over the other.
#general lore#pokemon#cosmog#cosmoem#solgaleo#lunala#I very much personally reject the male/female cosmog theory. Especially since the line is just cosmic matter that we are told are genderles#anyways my personal reasoning for that dex entry is humans saw Lunala and solgaleo make a cosmog and go âOH THEY MADE A BABY#THERE MUST BE A MOTHER AND FATHERâ and went moon = girl and sun = boy. When in reality itâs just like how stuff is made in space /pos#side note after that mini rant: Iâm fine with other people taking that view on the lineâs gender! No hate here!#Itâs just not for me! Because I am agender and really like space!!

Pokémon AU time!
Most hermits (especially those who spend a lot of time exploring / in other servers) have more than 6 Pokémon. Not all of them are for battling; in fact, Pokémon battles between hermits, while a fun recreational activity for some, aren't common. Instead, the Pokémon mostly help them at their daily jobs.
For example, Pearl has a Meowscarada, Frosmoth, and Lilligant (from Emp S1) to help tend to her plants, as well as a Pelipper for post (S10), a Cinccino for tidying up (S9) and a Malamar for pranks (mostly of an upside-down nature).
Her Absol helps warn her of risks when building (including other bloodthirsty players), and her Salamence flies her around / flies with her in addition to battling. The other Pokémon she mostly brings out for battles is her Midnight Lycanroc, Tilly. Everyone fears the Tilly.
She also has a Lunala who spends most of its time hanging upside down and watching ominously. Back in S8, there was a quarrel over the assumption that she was responsible for moon big by literally bringing the moon to earth, or that she could just control the moon to avert the disaster. Pearl and Grian set the record straight, though, explaining that Lunala is a herald at most and can't help them put the moon back.
It did come in pretty handy later, though, when the Boatem Crew travelled through the void to S9 riding on its back...Along with Grian's Solgaleo.
He actually met both Pokémon as Cosmog sometime back in EVO at the site of a portal. When Pearl joined, he gave one to her. Part of the reason he was taken in by the Watchers was that they saw him taking good care of a being from the void (i.e. the Ultra Beasts, Cosmog, Necrozma) and were impressed, so after his Cosmoem evolved during his End fight, they offered him a position to help Solgaleo reach its fullest potential.
Now it mostly helps him with admin / Watcher stuff, which means 99% of the time on HC it just lazes around his base and demands cuddles like a giant overgrown metal housecat. It works overtime during Life sessions though.
Grian's other Pokémon, in addition to the various wild bird Pokémon who keep visiting his base, include his starter Blaziken (chimken), Murkrow for pranks and 'borrowing' (remaining unevolved by choice), Talonflame to fly with, Espeon to keep a lookout (was an Eevee during EVO, before it, well), Breloom to help tend to his farms (S7 mycelium); and a Basculegion who kept following him through seasons as a Basculin before he fished it up in S10, after which it evolved with just a little encouragement. Let's just say Basculegion's lore is reminiscent of Grian's track record with allies in the Life series...
Scar has two Espurr (Katy Bee & Mr Finnegan) and a Liepard (Jellie). Among others (he has A LOT of Pokémon), he also has a Decidueye (fully evolved in S9 just in time for the rise of hOtGuY), Pawmot (Revival Blessing), Goodra (snail) and Cacturne (met in 3L, he brought it out again in DL for... reasons).

i was gonna do one of my "so glad you (nobody) asked--" but y'all were actually thirsty for it so HERE WE GO
tdp characters as pokemon trainers
(dizclaymoors: not actual teams of six, there will be pokemon that seem very obvious but are absent bc i didn't think they fit the Vibes, sometimes i'll make a weird choice of pokemon per evolutionary line - occasionally there's a reason but most of the time it's for the aforementioned Vibes)
bold = ace / potential ace
callum (specialties - flying, electric, water)
emolga
gyarados - it's like if he adopted the leviathan
castform - weather, sky magic, you get it
altaria
frogadier - i cannot explain the choice to give callum the frog and especially not the choice of frogadier out of the whole line but. the Vibes
chinchou - felt like a mandatory inclusion
rayla (specialties - fighting, steel, ghost, [hah])
tinkaton - this thing has so much rayla energy it's insane
dedenne - this felt like such a given i was a little stunned when it occurred to me that dedenne really doesn't share that many similarities with stella. also callum and rayla both have pikaclones that is so fucking cute
marshadow - trying not to overuse legendaries/mythicals but COME ON
phantump
doublade - doublade specifically for obvious reasons
froslass - slay recognizes slay
ezran (specialties - dragon, fairy)
dachsbun - need i say a thing
dragonite - the most ezran dragon type there is
gastrodon - he loves giant sea slugs!!
frosmoth - bro would absolutely snag a snom and having it as a frosmoth just feels right
mimikyu - he would love this misunderstood baby
sliggoo
togepi - egg
bellibolt - frog
soren (specialties - normal)
these are actually all alternatives to his true team, which is just six shuckles as per that one post that someone needs to find for me
bidoof
psyduck
ditto
dunsparce - you might be noticing a bit of a theme
dragapult - i'm breaking that theme just a bit. this might be an association because of that one post about the dragapult where it's just inexplicably named zubeia
toedscruel - shroom
claudia (specialties - dark, poison, dragon [ironic])
malamar
hydreigon
noivern
sableye - this thing is like a more devious version of sparklepuff (that she won't murder [hopefully])
morpeko - cute little baby who's also evil
galarian rapidash - unicorn hehe
dragalge
terry (specialties - grass obvi)
eldegoss
lotad
shiinotic
leafeon
breloom
sawsbuck - hahahhahhahhah get it. tarngedner
(cannot choose an ace for the life of me)
corvus (specialties - dark, steel)
corviknight - this pokemon was made in corvus' image
ferroseed
galarian linoone
lycanroc
umbreon
janai (specialties - fire obvi)
arcanine
aegislash
armarouge
ninetales - giving her an arcanine and a ninetales feels wrong but they both fit her so well)
aaravos (specialties - psychic)
cosmoem - cosmoem specifically bc it has the "mystical cocoon that could turn into anything" vibe yk?
clamperl - please someone praise me for my cleverness
spectrier
lujanne (specialties - psychic, ghost)
lunatone - i know it's disgustingly on the nose but try and tell me she wouldn't have one
shedinja - she would love her gimmick pokemon
misdreavus
polteageist
runerigus - this would be her one pokemon that isn't like small and unassuming but this is 100% what she uses to guard the nexus like HELLO (it also is indeed very Baby in reality)
zorua - her disguise bestie
astrid + kosmo (could belong to either) (specialties - flying, psychic)
galarian articuno
woobat
meowstic pair - for the record astrid has the male and kosmo has the female. the Vibes just worked out
hisuian braviary
minior
bonuses!
runaan: decidueye - i had to
associate crow master: murkrow - i had to
kim'dael: midnight lycanroc - i just wanted to
i hope this was some tasty dough (/callback)
#i am excepting suggestions#also no one get on me for claiming a type specialty when it barely fits the actual team because pokemon does that ALL the time#tdp#the dragon prince#continuethesaga#giveusthesaga#pokemon

Cosmoem, and I'd lose. It doesn't have the offenses to hurt me--no attacking moves and sub-Caterpie stats--but that's only half the equation. This thing is basically a cosmic god-cocoon, with astronomically high defenses. More importantly, though, it's 10cm(4 inches) tall and 999.9kg(2204.4lbs). That's absurdly dense. It's literally modeled after a star, so that checks out. There's no way for me to hurt something like that empty-handed. That alone would be enough, but again, the weight comes back into play. Depending on how quickly (and how precisely) it can levitate, it has the potential to gain a huge amount of momentum, which it could use to punch through me like a fist-sized cannonball. Failing that, it could just drop itself from the sky at a great enough height to punch clean through my vitals. No manner how I try to avoid it, I'd have to stop and rest eventually, and it could take it's time either tormenting me psychologically or chasing me down until I trip or have to rest(especially since I have like no stamina). Even if it did have to rest, which I can't reasonably assume, I still can't hurt it. I could run away, sure, but I have to assume this godling is going to outlive me, so it would easily win a long-term battle of attrition.
TL;DR Cosmoem could easily kill me in any fight. It's a star god-cocoon.
spin this wheel of all the pokemon. you now have to fight this pokemon. just you and it, bare-knuckle

More trainers just need to be given mythicals for the plot. Maybe not legendaries because to me, legendaries are meant to be wild cause they have a purpose in the world moving (also why specific legendaries donât *feel* like legendaries to me or should be a subclass) but like mythicals? Most mythicals are like.. little guys.
Personally, I think there should be tiers for the legendary/mythical/god Pokémon. More than those three.
God: Arceus, Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Regigigas.
[These PokĂ©mon aid in keeping the world stable/aided in the creation of the universe. These shouldnât be wielded by anyone, the world and its balance may be destroyed.]
Legendary: Lugia, Ho-Oh, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Lunala, Solgaleo, Necrozma, Eternatus, Tapu Koko, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, Terapagos, Uxie, Mespirit, Azelf, Hoopa Unbound.
[Sub-God Pokémon, often with major ties to regional historical events. These Pokémon should be kept in their region to prevent disturbing peace or security. Hoopa Unbound is on this list because its power alone is able to summon multiple legendaries and wreck chaos easily, it should not be used whatsoever, but it is not a God Pokémon.]
Sub-Legendary: Mewtwo, Zacian, Zamazenta, Calyrex, Glastrier, Spectrier, Koraidon, Miraidon, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regidrago, Regieleki, Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, Chi-Yu, Ogerpon.
[PokĂ©mon slightly weaker than legendaries. These PokĂ©mon may have ties to specific regionâs history, yet they arenât strong enough especially in their own right to be considered proper legendaries. They can be wielded, but itâs better off they stay where they were. Yet, theyâre still relatively easy to take down.]
Gimmick Creators: Necrozma, Eternatus, Terapagos
[This is a sub-category for the Legendaries that are directly connected/linked to the creation of specific battle gimmicks used in games. These Pokémon should not be wielded either, that has been obvious seeing their impacts alone in their respective games.]
Ultra Beasts: Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephelon, Lunala, Solgaleo, Necrozma.
[Self-Explanatory, they should not be classified the same as legendaries as they are not considered to be legendaries in the games. The light trio, aka Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, are included because due to their different dimension status and the fact that they have the only evolution line out of all legendaries.. they are technically ultra beasts even if they do not gain the beast boost. These Pokémon are spontaneous and erratic and should not be kept by anyone.]
Mythical: Darkrai, Cresselia, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, Okidogi, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Latias, Latios, Heatran, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Enamorus, Type: Null, Silvally, Kubfu, Urshifu, Deoxys, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Genesect, Volcanion, Magearna, Zeraora, Melmetal, Zarude.
[Rare Pokémon: weaker in status compared to legendaries. These Pokémon usually have a direct connection to humans or just live almost amongst humans. Can be wielded, nothing will change in the environments or world besides a bit of chaos if in the wrong hands.]
Fabled: Cosmog, Cosmoem, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Phione, Shaymin, Victini, Meloetta, Diancie, Hoopa, Marshadow, Meltan, Pecharunt.
[Essentially the little guys of the mythical class. Most just go about their own thing and the only reason theyâre separated from the mythicals is just because these PokĂ©mon could likely easily be taken out by a normal PokĂ©mon and they donât inadvertently affect humans. As long as they are kept happy, practically none of them will pose a threat to anyone or anything. Allowed to be kept. Cosmog and Cosmoem are here because they not only canât do anything and barely classify as legendaries, but to even evolve them you need specific rules like location and time so theyâre moreso fabled PokĂ©mon than legendary pre-evos.]
Now, the majority of these arrangements are probably bad, so feel free to tell me some good reasons to change some around. I essentially made this to rant about how Legendary and Mythical are just terms thrown around that previously kept rare PokĂ©mon as âavailable in gameâ and âevent onlyâ but I feel like they should be classified more according to how they would in the PokĂ©mon world.
Regardless, I can answer reasonings for specific Pokémon in which category and why.. but have fun!

The groups Iâve selected to collect the Legendaries for Snacksworthâs Legendary Quest are all groups of either 2 or 3. That way I can have them in my party for a bit to see what theyâre like while also keeping the Proto Beasts in Scarlet and the Neo Swords in Violet in my party to meet them and hang out with them throughout (usually btw Blueberry in Scarlet and Cherry in Violet will be sent out against the Legendaries in the capture attempt as well as posing with them beforehand. I only chose Apple, Orange, Lemon and Passionfruit against Emy, Tina, Rald and Plat respectively because I thought it would be funny for the first of my PokĂ©mon that they meet to be their Paradox counterparts). When I have a group of 2 in my party instead of a group of 3, Scarlet the Suicune in Scarlet and Violet the Virizion in Violet will rejoin my party which given all but one group (which is a trio anyway) has something connecting all members at least in the same version to each other (I mean technically Kubfu, Calyrexâs Steeds and Cosmoemâs evolved forms have stuff connecting them but Kubfu/Urshifu doesnât have a fusion, Glastrier and Spectrier arenât part of an evolution line and Solgaleo and Lunala arenât from Galar so they donât have anything connecting them as a trio but they werenât chosen because they make a good trio, they were chosen because of favouritism which is why theyâre the next group Iâm working towards) it does kinda feel like Scarlet and Violet are joining those groups of 2 as honorary members. One of those groups of 2 is the Johto and Unova Box Legendaries (so Ho-Oh and Reshiram in Scarlet and Lugia and Zekrom in Violet) and the other group of 2 is the Hoenn Legendaries (so Groudon and Latios in Scarlet and Kyogre and Latias in Violet) so I feel like Iâve accidentally ended up calling Scarlet/Suicune and Violet/Virizion honorary Hoenn Box Legendaries (to be fair I made a post in the past saying they look like a Box Legendary duo which Iâm sure was entirely because they face in opposite directions in their official art though I do think with Suicune naturally slouching and Virizion naturally standing tall they do kinda remind me of Zacian and Zamazenta)
Just in case anyone wants to know what the groups are if I havenât already mentioned it in a previous post:
Group 1: Legendary Beasts (Scarlet)/Swords of Justice (Violet). Probably placed first so I can get the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords to see their modern-day counterparts and honestly Iâm really enjoying hanging out with them in-game, especially looking to see if Scarlet and Violet will hang out with Blueberry and Cherry respectively
Group 2: Kubfu, Glastrier and Solgaleo (Scarlet)/Kubfu, Spectrier and Lunala (Violet). This is favouritism I really want these guys
Group 3: Ho-Oh and Reshiram (Scarlet)/Lugia and Zekrom (Violet). I associate the Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice with each other now so why canât I do it with their Box Legendaries (absolutely imagining situations where my PokĂ©mon indirectly lampshade how Reshiram will be my only Unova Legendary in Scarlet and Lugia will be my only Johto Legendary in Violet by commenting on how theyâre surprised to see a Legendary from those regions even though they donât seem to be surprised about Solgaleo or Lunala and they actually go to somewhere pretty near Johto and somewhere officially owned by Unova). Iâm very excited to see just how tall Lugia is in-game (apparently itâs supposed to be the same height as Lemon the Raging Bolt), especially how much it dwarfs Cherry (the Psychic-type height variation is real even though Cherry and Orange are the same height and Passionfruit is only 4 inches taller than them)
Group 4: Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. Not sure why this is group 4 when theyâre the least interesting group but hey. Also theyâre grouped together because official Legendary trio
Group 5: Groudon and Latios (Scarlet)/Kyogre and Latias (Violet). I think because Group 2 was the first I chose once I decided it would be a good idea to take breaks from losing my mind trying to get Master Balls (I went into this thinking Iâd get the Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice given I already had three Master Balls in Violet and then would just work on getting the other 10 Master Balls only to change my mind, possibly because when I went to the fly location to get Plat the Cobalion I was right next to Kubfu and was very sad Iâd decided to wait to catch it), this was probably the last group I selected
#PokĂ©mon Ruby and Sapphire but the Box Legendaries are Suicune and Virizion#(I donât think Groudon is gonna like being replaced with a Water-type somehow#and whatâs worse for Groudon is Suicuneâs Paradox counterpart is literally made to tear apart sun teams)#suicune#virizion#pokĂ©mon#legendary pokĂ©mon#ho-oh#reshiram#lugia#zekrom#groudon#kyogre#latios#latias

While it is true that 1 billion lions would beat the vast majority of Pokemon, there are a few box legendaries and mythicals that that doesn't apply to. For simplicity I'll only keep with the legendaries, since the vast majority of the regular ones stand no chance.
First, there are spacebound pokemon. Rayquaza lives in the upper atmosphere, the eon duo can do the same, and deoxys is literally interstellar. There is absolutely no chance the lions could get even close to that high, therefore they could just be waited out while they starve themselves to death. Overpopulation of predators will usually balance itself out, but not in this case: one billion lions would quickly outpace any supply of resources, and assuming they're left alone with the one of each pokemon for no interference, they'd run out of Pokemon in hours. Assuming they're not fighting amongst themselves, cause if they were then that would undermine the hypothetical, the lions would quickly die out. And even if the remaining lions were able to somehow subsist for a few generations, carnivores are inefficient with their energy use, so the population would drop to a degree that would be completely doable for all of the spacebound pokemon to deal with, even if they don't die outright before then.
Pokemon that can just wait out the lions in space: Rayquaza, Latios, Latias, Deoxys, Eternatus, possibly gen 5 box legends
By similar logic, any deep-sea aquatic pokemon or ultra beast/interdimensional pokemon would also be able to just wait out the lions for generations, if it could live long enough to. The underwater pokemon would also need the ability to survive for long times without food.
Pokemon that can wait out the lions underwater: Lugia, Manaphy, Phione
Pokemon that can wait out the lions in another dimension: Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, every single ultra beast
You might notice some pokemon missing from that list, like Palkia on the first or Kyogre on the second. This is because, while they could theoretically just wait out the lions, they have more efficient ways of taking them out. This next category I like to refer to as "absolutely unfair" because they could literally take out each and every lion, solo, and it wouldn't even be especially difficult.
Obviously chief among this category are the four literal deities, who could, respectively, age all of the lions to skeletons at once, teleport them to outer space/the middle of the ocean/just rip their atoms from one another, strand them in an alternate dimension for an indefinite amount of time, or just annihilate them from existence.
Next are the ones that are an order of magnitude less severe, only planetary scale.
Kyogre and groudon would each be able to make the planet entirely uninhabitable while hiding out in their respective undersea caves, flooding it to make it unsuitable for lions or parching them to death, respectively.
Regigigas might also be in this tier, having pulled literal continents, that would likely cause constant high-magnitude earthquakes to tear away at the lion population.
Then we go down a step further, to the ones where they don't necessarily have planetary-scale abilities, but it is likely they'd be able to do it solo, or with a bit of assistance.
First things first, Jirachi and Hoopa for their teleportation abilities. Given good timing for the fight, jirachi could wish away all of the lions to the bottom of the ocean or the vacuum of space. Celebi could ensure that jirachi would be awake for the fight. Hoopa could also do similar, especially if unbound, without the timing requirement.
The Forces of Nature also have a good shot, with their ability to create deadly tornadoes, thunderstorms, and earthquakes, all without getting close enough for the lions to retaliate.
Then, there are a few general heavy hitters, who could likely take out a good portion of the lions, but likely would not beat all of them without help.
Most of the legendaries and mythicals count for this category, as while they may be heavy hitters or powerful flying artillery, they just don't have the stamina or longevity to take down an army of lions. I will, however, note a few potential highlights.
Registeel likely would be the most durable of this tier of combatants, being literally made of metal. It would, however, likely eventually be overrun and unable to do anything.
Mewtwo, of course, is mewtwo.
Mew could theoretically replicate the abilities of any pokemon, but that requires that pokemon to already be there, so it's more of a "win more" button
Any pokemon that can fly indefinitely, so the aforementioned interstellars and forces of nature, would be able to take out the lions given enough time.
And finally, Ho-oh would be able to resurrect any pokemon that are dead, so long as it doesn't instantly die itself.
This fight is very one-sided, for sure, but not in the way OP imagined.

i think what Cosmoem!Mettaton would play as depends on the route taken. EX/Neutral/Pacifist would be Lunala, and NEO/Genocide would be Solgaleo. Unless you think vice versa?
Also, would the casting also extend into what we know of Deltarune? I'm thinking Jevil would be Marshadow, and maybe Queen is Zygarde, but that's as much as I can think of.
Yeee! I actually like that take! Especially since its Mettaton NEO we only get in the Genocide route!
And sorry! I dont know much about Deltarune cause im waiting for it to be fully released!

I have a headcanon that some legendaries/mythicals are actually singular and some are simply ultra-rare species that donât mate in captivity and guess what?? you get to hear them:
Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres (both Kantoan and Galarian)Â are ultra-rare species. Humans know this because theyâve seen them caring for young, but no human is known to have interacted with or handled a chick.
As a manufactured being, Mewtwo is singular. Theoretically, another one could be made, but Mewtwo destroyed all records of its creation process.
Mew is singular. Mew is also the first Pokemon to exist for its own sake rather than as the embodiment of something, although some say that Mew is the embodiment of the concept of Pokemon in and of itself.
Entei, Suicune, and Raikou are not beings so much as weather patterns. There are a few recorded instances of two or more of the same kind extant at the same time, usually during catastrophic weather events.
Lugia is the last remaining member of a once-extant species.
Ho-oh is singular. If it is destroyed, it reforms.
As the patron spirit of a specific forest, Celebi is singular.
Latias and Latios are a mated pair, but no evidence has been found that they can actually reproduce.
The Regis are all singular; they are all either one-off experiments or the creator thereof.
Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza are technically singular, but they can âsplit offâ pieces of themselves to act independently for a time. Those pieces are some of the only known legendaries to allow themselves to be formally caught, and they return to the main being after the death of their trainer. The main beings are the only ones capable of primal reversion/megavolution.
Sightings of Jirachi are so vanishingly rare that nobody knows whether itâs a unique being or a species.
Deoxys is an ultra-rare species, but we only know this because the only Deoxys that has landed on Earth has reproduced (it budded).
Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf work in the same fashion as the Weather Trio, but their shard-selves do not allow themselves to be formally caught. Instead, once they are âcaught,â they will travel with a trainer for a time (determined by how much the shard feels it has to learn from the trainer and vice-versa) before returning to the main body and pooling their memories with the rest.
Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are singular. In fact, Giratina is multiversially singular--there is only one Giratina across all universes and timelines.
Since it has reproductive organs, humans assume that Cresselia is not singular, but there is only one on Earth.
Heatran is a species and can be caught, but its destructive potential is such that possession of it is illegal in most places. Heatran is not particularly rare in its native environment (the core of the earth), but only a few have ever decided to come up to the surface.
Manaphy is singular, but its children Phione are not and can be caught (although catching them is illegal in many regions due to their rarity and complex care requirements).
Darkrai is not unique, but it doesnât reproduce. Instead, Darkrai are born when a community of people and/or Pokemon suffer from a steep enough rate of nightmares, phobias, and night terrors that their fears take on a life of their own. Darkrai cannot be caught and is really more of an idea, albeit one with its own mind, than a conventional Pokemon.
Shaymin is an ultra-rare species. It is said that only one Shaymin can be in Sky Forme at a time, but that may be an urban legend. Shaymin will not allow themselves to be caught, but are highly social and curious (as legendaries go) and are sometimes seen nosing around healthy urban green spaces and Pokemon-rich forests.
Arceus is one continuous being manifested in many bodies.Â
Victini is a singular conceptual Pokemon, the embodiment of victory and good luck. On extremely rare occasions--usually when the events about to transpire will radically change the future of the world--it may choose to appear to a trainer and offer to travel alongside them for no longer than a year and a day.
The Swords of Justice are unique, but they will travel with a trainer who bests them. However, they are prouder than conventional Pokemon and will leave at the first sign of mistreatment or negligence.
Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus are the Unovan equivalent of the Johto legendary beasts; that is to say, weather events with personalities.
Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem are unique and were originally all one being. Some speculate that they could be split again, perhaps creating an even wider variety of beings, but nobody has both the will and the means to try that.
Meloetta is an ultra-rare species. It is said that every time a human or Pokemon writes a truly great piece of music, a Meloetta is born, but thereâs really no way to verify that.
Genesect is a limited-run, heavily modified Fossil Pokemon. Several fossils of its base species exist, indicating that it was once a fairly populous species, but none of those fossils are complete enough to extract and revive. Most of the modifications on the five Genesect, though designed to maximize their power, are necessary to keep them alive.
Xerneas, similar to Arceus, is one being that manifests in several bodies. Unlike Arceus, who just âwithdrawsâ any of its limbs if they get too damaged, Xerneasâ bodies can be destroyed. This inevitably causes colossal ecological devastation in the surrounding area; however, if humans and Pokemon work to reseed the area with life, a new Xerneas body may form there.
Yveltal is singular and may in fact be a part of Xerneasâ digestive system, like a particularly crabby and antagonistic patch of gut flora.
Zygarde is a species--in fact, each Zygarde Core is an individual being. Their teamwork is unsurpassed as they communicate at an empathic level. Each Core spawns some Zygarde Cells over the course of its life, but any Core can meld with any Cell given the proper conditions. If a Core and a Cell with different enough genetic material merge for an extended period, the Cell might grow an embryonic Core upon splitting off again. That is Zygardesâ only observed method of reproducing, but their biology is so malleable that itâs possible that they have others. Cores and 10% Formes can be caught; 50% and Complete formes cannot be.
Hoopa is either a species or a multi-body singular being. Multiple Hoopa exhibit different personalities, but some scientists speculate that that is just Hoopaâs method of âplayâ. Hoopa can be caught, but is known to abruptly leave for no apparent reason, especially when it has access to the power of Unbound Forme.
Diancie is both unique and not--thereâs only one known Diancie, but it is technically a mutated (and sterile) Carbink, not a separate species.Â
Volcanion is a species, one distantly related to (and significantly rarer than) Heatran.
There are three Type: Null, one of whom has evolved into a Silvally. The documentation of their creation process still exists, and others could be made in time, but nobody is currently manufacturing them (or at least nobody is admitting to it).
The Tapus are singular beings, one for each of the main Alolan islands. Unlike many legendary Pokemon, the Tapus battle regularly against human trainers, although they cannot be caught.Â
The Cosmog family is an ultra-rare species. Only one Solgaleo and one Lunala exist on Earth at a time, but there are a handful of Cosmogs and Cosmoems on Earth, and one of the Cosmoems will evolve to replace the Solgaleo or Lunala if it dies.
Necrozma is a species, but there is only one per community of Cosmogs (and thus one per planet). It is symbiotic with the Cosmog family, but the one that resides on the Earth of the âmainâ timeline has become a parasite.Â
There is only one known Magearna, and its creation process has been lost to the ages.
Marshadow is singular, but an Alakazam that interacted with it states that it aims to reproduce and become the first of an ultra-rare species.
Zeraora is a species. Most Zeraora prefer to be alone, spending the majority of their time in the air or in desolate areas. Zeraora can be caught, but they resent it.
Meltan is a species, and it isnât ârareâ so much as ânew,â having made no recorded appearances before the Industrial Revolution. Melmetal is a swarm, not a single being, but Meltan enjoy the swarming process and will stay in Melmetal form for months or even years at a time. Meltan can be caught, and they are legal to catch in most areas. They are happiest in large groups, so any trainer of Meltan is advised to maintain plenty of Box space.
Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus are, as far as we can tell, singular.
The Kubfu family is a species. It has a large enough world population to maintain genetic diversity, but it is native to only a few regions, and it is usually illegal to export it. The Kubfus in Galar all descend from a small group that were smuggled into the country in the 1800s.
Glastrier, Spectrier, and Calyrex are singular, conceptual embodiments of the different biomes of the Crown Tundra.
Zarude is a species--in fact, itâs known for living in packs. It is legal to catch, but it refuses to reproduce in captivity or be traded, so there are relatively few of them living in human communities.
#pokemon#pokemon headcanons#my god there are a lot of these huh#legendary pokemon#proud of this though

Could you do solgaleo if you havenât already? Thank you!
Solgaleo!!!!!
The Legendary mascot of Pokemon Sun, Solgaleoâs an interdimensional Psychic/Steel-type lion creature. The typing is interesting, as you might expect Fire from a pokemon themed around the sun, but Psychic is associated with space and I guess Steel is what you get when a star dies out, due to its iron core? Though itâs described as the âbeast that devours the sunâ rather than a beast of the sun, so maybe the sun association is just meant to be something given to it by humans.

As a design, Iâm honestly not overly fond of Solgaleo. Itâs got an oddly plastic quality to it, feeling like it was designed to sell figurines rather than being an organic creature that could really exist, which unfortunately is a somewhat common trait with Legendaries. That said, a sun-associated lion is nonetheless a solid concept. Its starry face is also incredibly unique, and whilst I feel its counterpart Lunala pulls off the look better, it adds a lot to the design. Iâm also glad that they went with white as the dominant colour, rather than a more obvious sunny colour like orange.
In Pokemon Sun, Solgaleo is the final evolution of Nebby, a Cosmog accompanying Lillie throughout the story. It evolves from Cosmoem, the middle evolution, in response to the playing of the Sun Flute and Moon Flute at the Altar of the Sunne. It then creates an Ultra Wormhole to Ultra Space to guide Lillie and the player to rescue Lusamine, who had gone to Ultra Space in her fit of Ultra Beast-obsessed weirdness. In Ultra Sun, things go much the same up until the evolution, at which point a surprise appearance by Necrozma leads to it absorbing Nebby and turning Necrozma into its Dusk Mane form. Probably not fun for poor Nebby :c

Whatâs never made quite clear is what exactly Solgaleoâs and Lunalaâs relationship with Ultra Space actually is. Theyâre officially not Ultra Beasts, since Beast Balls arenât especially effective for catching them and they donât have an Ultra Beast designation in the TCG, but they can create Ultra Wormholes and seemingly live in Ultra Space? Or maybe they just live in regular olâ space, I donât know. And I guess the Ultra Beasts donât actually have the ability to create Ultra Wormholes anyway, for that matter: only Cosmog, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma seemingly can.
Solgaleo also has an alternate âformâ known as the Radiant Sun phase, though itâs not actually a form and is just a visual effect Solgaleo takes on when itâs about to use its signature move, Sunsteel Strike. A third eye appears on its head and its body glows bright white; overall a very cool aesthetic. It probably has the least use of any aesthetic variant for a pokemon though, along with Lunalaâs equivalent Full Moon phase, and I kinda question how necessary it even was to give these âphasesâ official names. Still very cool though!
Solgaleoâs got a bright red shiny, seemingly a reference to the red giant phase of a starâs lifecycle. Red giants occur late in a starâs life, and are significantly lower in temperature than other stars (hence being red rather than white or blue), and have relatively low mass despite their gargantuan size. Regardless of their low temperature and mass, however, their size ensures theyâre nonetheless quite bright! I like when shinies have a cool inspiration behind them like this, and Solgaleo looks quite cool in red. Cool because red giants have lower temperature hahahaha :U
Anyways, Solgaleoâs alright. Again, Iâm not personally into the design, but I respect the concept they were going for.
Always Sunny in Ultra Space/10.

bonus: izuko gets uxie, alakazam, hypnos. idk who else, but probably an assembled team of highly qualified and useful pokemon for her schemes. bombirder for ougi would also be fun (crane. and chaotic). so would jirachi for nadeko. or kanbaru too ig.
maybe ill do some for the specialists too actually. but not in this post. let me know if you want to see that i spose
explanation below (ACTUAL, direct spoilers this time):
araragi: im not explaining this one. try and tell me this isnt the lineup he'd have. drizzile is to claim innocence. however it looks so suspciously like him that one can't help but think...
senjougahara: because scizor is cool and has crabby claws and is named scissor like the stationary she uses. and she can stand there and send out her scizors like a battle formation. the cosmoem is because its actually quite helpful to not have 6 of the same pokemon as it turns out. and she likes space :) and its cuddly :) (and as @aokozaki pointed out it's unusually heavy for its size)
hanekawa has three cats! espeon, the bakeneko, liepard, which stealthily attacks people, and pyroar, a fire cat. they remind her of her sisters so of course she has them. the other half of her team has other focuses: gardevoir is smart, empathetic and powerful and can keep up with her for those reasons. will make a good companion. togekiss is a peace enjoyer who can fly her around places-- smth good aligned like her that can help her travel. zigzagoon is good for scrounging, smth nice and practical for her to help her survive in the wild. id imagine her pokemon are all like partners and family to her
kanbaru. two monkeys, one silly and one of Rage. tangrowth is for the dirty jokes. marowak, carrying around the bones of your dead mother... she'd relate. or close enough anyway. swablu to clean up her room for her. and sneasel is bc i think she'd appreciate a running partner. i think she'd build a rapport with her team.
nadeko: mawile is the "deceiver pokemon" who lures people in by looking cute and then bites the shit out of them with its big teeth-hair. so i had to give nadeko this one. she gets a seviper for the obligatory snake. gyarados is sort of that too, as a dragon-snake connection. but gyarados, and dragonite, are also bc i bet she'd like the older classic pokemon the best. especially a big scary one like gyarados. and on that note, hatterene is bc "people-deterrent" (helpful for her i'd imagine. or at least relatable) and smeargle is for artistry. they could learn from each other
hachikuji gets snails and slow friendly pokemon. and drifblim. i wanted to reference the making people lost and ghost parts somehow. also i feel like she'd have fun having one pick her up and fly her around. and also meowth. she likes the ka-ching she likes the money. and meowth is funny. shed have a meowth
look up a picture of dachsbun and tell me shinobu wouldn't. in fact shinobu's whole party might just be dachsbuns. i fear for their safety. arcanine is for the loyalty of growlithe turned into the majesty of arcanine... shinobu's very kingly so i think it works. she also has serperior for that reason, but serperior also has a noble and holier-than-thou quality that fits her. samurott i think would remind her of her first kin, and crobat is bc vampirism reference (also it evolves from friendship which seems significant). snorlax is a sleeping partner. curl up or spread out on its belly. nap buddies. it's probably warm too. and if its not warm enough you can always get arcanine up there with you. in fact just do a pile of all your pokemon up there. dachsbun can be your chew toy (đ±)
karen's are i think pretty self explanatory. also, the fire sisters in complementary fashion each get ultra beasts
tsukihi would definitely have the most legendaries, inexplicably. i put mew in there for cuteness + variety since she'd probably get bored of her other pokemon and switch them out every few days, although she might return to nihilego and vulpix more often (strange violent "young girl" jellyfish invasive species pokemon and cute cuddly fire fox that evolves into mystical long lifespan pokemon respectively). mr. mime is the little ugly scrunklo she falls in love with for no reason (and also is a master of deceit and convincing people imaginary things exist. also galarian mr. mime can dance. fun). morpeko is cute but also v temperamental like tsukihi. i thought about putting moltres in bc obv phoenix but i think tsukihi would catch it (in one try, with a regular pokeball) and not put it in her party. also i mean just take one look at tinkaton and tell me she wouldn't. its perfect
ononoki self-indulgently gets a doll, orange mint cream, ice cream (that could also probably produce ice cream or at least make like shaved ice or something), a musclebound champion, and bibarel. hear me out: dam building skills = something that can put you back together if say, your limbs fall off. and also a hm slave, bc ononoki would totally get one of those. and she wouldn't bother leaving it in her pc. froslass is a caricature of tsukihi. kimono sash and sleeves. she names it tsukihi. and hates it
ougi of course gets the mimikyu zoroark ditto triple whammy. the fake... the imitator...... also mimikyu's sad backstory fits pretty well. and zoroark's "using illusions and fooling people to protect itself" is spot on for ougi. not to mention it learns punishment (important for ougi). for spiritomb, with ougi's involvement in spiritual business, the 108 spirits making it up fit imo. also its punished for being wicked. also also ougi would totally walk up to a sealed malevolent creature and be like "lets unseal it it'll be fiiiiine" so yeah. absol is because they show up when bad things are happening all the time i can't imagine they wouldn't run into one. and ooh, a bad thing radar? free detector for where dark things are about to happen? count ougi in. (also both ougi and absol get bad raps...) and unown is because mysterious.... unknown..... it switches to a different form somehow whenever no one's looking... mysterious... spooky... maybe even hints at the current mystery goin on... oooh.....
*sits up out of my bed as though struck by thunder* monogatari pokemon teams

Decent story telling deciphering. Episode 1, Lillie.
I think I got the core of Lillie's character growth figured out.Â
From both sets of games to the anime... it is about Lillie learning to make that first step into becoming a braver person.
For most of SM and USUM, Lillie was a timid person who could barely do anything by herself without having second thoughts. This stemmed from Lusamine being so much of a control freak to her and Gladion, making all the decisions for them and telling the two to just listen to the adults around them. (How extreme this was depends on the set... but it doesnât matter much in the end when it is emotional abuse.)
Some time before the events of the game, Lillie saw what was being done to the Cosmog Nebby and found it so extreme, so wrong that the girl realized that her mother wasnât sound in the mind.
So she took the Cosmog and ran, the girl wanting to help get Nebby back home and find the means necessary to do it.
That is when the Cosmog teleported Lillie out of Aether.
Out of that toxic environment and to the tropical region of Alola. Where two were cornered. Lillie found proper emotional support in Kukui and Burnet, individuals that allowed her to relax to the newfound freedom she obtained.
When you the player arrived, Lillie was slowly trying to break away from the lingering, over bearing shadow Lusamine had over her. That... is what her old look represented, the resemblance to Nihilego is just a coincidence since in USUM, Lusamineâs goals have nothing to do with that Ultra Beast despite everyone looking the same. The clothes themselves represent a past of a bound childhood.
Every time Lillie was trying to find a new look to suit her, was every time she tries to find the courage towards becoming independent. With you, Hau and everyone Lillie befriended inspiring her towards that.
To become a trainer, to become strong enough to fight her battles.
Then Team Skull came along to get the Cosmog while you were dealing with Guzma.
We the player raided Aether Paradise and through some dialogue from Gladion, figure out that Lusamine was a control freak to her kids... explaining why Gladion is trying to do things in his own way. Whether to stop Lusamine from endangering Alola and the family or to stop her from endangering herself. (USUM and Gladionâs motive to raise Null to its potential and prove that woman wrong.
When we confront Lusamine, we see why Lillie had so much self doubt. Lusamine talks down on Lillie for stealing her stuff and leaving, this woman really thinks that her kids should just shut up and let her take care of things (USUM) or think they are pests getting in her way to what ever she wants (SM).
Then you fight Lusamine for what ever reason. (In SM it was self defense since the crazy bitch was trying to kill you, in USUM... because the crazy bitch wanted to prove to her kids that she can manage Necrozma. âIâll get to her in another time.â)
Nebbyâs power got used in great lengths and it evolved into Cosmoem to survive.
Then the next day happened, after some thinking... Lillie changed her outfit to a more lively Z powered form. Finally making that big step out of her motherâs overbearing shadow, with a goal in mind... rescue Lusamine from her own stupid/ crazy shit.
During your trip to Poni Island, Lillie took more and more steps to facing her insecurities, things that would frighten her before and press forward. (USUM took out Exeggutor Island... BUT the things she said on that island went over to the RR episode in some way or form.)
Eventually reaching the altar and helping you evolve Nebby. Depending on the version, you and Lillie either go into Ultra Space to fight Lusamine... OR Necrozma kicked Lusamineâs (and Guzmaâs) butt for you and causes everything to go off the rails.
In SM... Lillie chewed Lusamine out and the crazy bitch latched onto Nihilego in an attempt to kill the both of you. Then Lillie had Nebby blast Nihilego off of Lusamine, the woman said some sweet words, Lillie forgives her... gives you Nebby right there because she wasnât a trainer and made it her objective to help Lusamine recover... while saying she is going to become a trainer in Kanto. Yes these scenes are emotional... but it kind of undoes most of Lillieâs development towards the end, her standing up to her mother, only to go back to her in the end. We have no idea if that woman learned anything and for all we know, Lusamine would just go back to abusing Lillie again. No closure and if it was.. it is a pretty gritty ending that soured a good story and goes against the message that Children are not things that belong to their parents.
In USUM... because you the player had to deal with Necrozma... who ate Nebby and was stealing the light from Alola. Lillieâs chew up at Lusamine was off screen, but Lillie told us what she was going tell that woman at around Vast Poni Canyon.
Off screen, she called out a less crazed Lusamine out on her self entitled crap... that people are to help one another instead of trying to do things by themselves. (Like what Lusamine had been doing to her kids.)
We go back to that aftermath and we see Lusamine having a change of heart... knocked off her high horse by Necrozma and lectured by Lillie.
Admitting that her kids were right to go against her. To Lillieâs fortune, she saw her mother make the first big step to repentance... tending to what was the Cosmog. (Lusamine making repentance towards Nebby.)
This isnât as focused as SM... but this is a good trade off.
Lillie only went back to Aether Paradise to help Nebby recover, while you the player finish up the last grand trial.
Gladion tells you to go to Mahalo trial when you beat him.
Where you find Lillie and Nebby... in the place you all first met. Lillie says her goodbyes to Nebby and promised it that she will become stronger. While Lillie doesnât go to Kanto, she does stay with Kukui and Burnet. It isnât as emotional, but it makes me feel happy that she is showing her growth and is in a happier environment.
As well as becoming a trainer and beginning her biggest step towards something. Which is seen in RR when Lillie becomes a trainer, it is a Clefairy and the only reason it is high leveled is because of your point in the game.
Lillie is a support trainer... which fits her character perfectly. Speaking of courage, she was willing to help you fight RR... kick a grunts butt and even help you in battling Faba. She is starting out as a trainer, so of course once that happens... you the player have to manage the rest while Lillie takes the role of healing your pokemon when needed. Some might find this disappointing, but this is reality... she started off as a trainer and she isnât as tough as you yet.
In addition, after RR she offers to become your partner for the Battle Tree... and is one of the best supporters in that whole place.
Even if USUM isnât as focused on her or as emotional this is good closure for one of Gamefreakâs best characters and those who said this game butchers, her story, when it really didnât, can go take a hike.
Now for the anime. Lillieâs backstory is different compared to the games. Lusamine isnât an abusive control freak and instead is kind of a goofy mother that smoothers Lillie in affection the first chance she gets. Treating her daughter like a baby.
She is pretty god damn neglectful and is way too childish that problems arise between her and her kids.
. In addition, Lillie is still a girl that hasnât seen much of the outside world... so she comes off as timid and awkward.
Lillie had PTSD from being attacked by a Nihilego and ever since, she had a fear of touching pokemon. For most of the first season, Lillie slowly tries to overcome that trauma and as part of school therapy, she bonds with an Alolan Vulpix that hatched from an egg.
Snowy.
We see Lillie try to overcome that trauma piece by piece, from bonding with that Vulpix, Ashâs Pikachu AND riding on a Stoutland.
Throughout Season 1, we were also giving hints that more was to this trauma and Gladion is trying to take matters into his own hands to protect his sister. This doesnât get revealed until the Aether Arc. (One of my Favorite Story arcs.)
Unlike the games, where Lillie was scared of Lusamine... in the anime, Lillie wasnât scared of telling this woman off for doing things her way... like evolving Clefairy without telling anyone.
While the Clefairy Lillie cared about was Lusamineâs... that woman should have asked her kids if it was okay.
In addition, we have a pretty strained relationship between the family... because Lusamine wasnât never really there for her kids... especially when Lillie got traumatized and that woman never bothered questioning how it happened.
We are drawn into how more of this happened and Gladion explained to Ash how Lillieâs Trauma happened. Then a Cosmog Ash was taking care of (Nebby) teleported Lillie to Type:Null... who was apart of that trauma and it caused a regression that was SO bad that Lillie didnât even want Snowy with her. In Lillieâs eyes... Type:Full tried to attack her.
Desperate to overcome that regression, Lillie... with Ash and Nebby, retraced her steps bit by bit... to hopefully regain those memories and understand what happened. Now for those with PTSD... this is probably a bad idea if the person suffering from it doesnât want to remember it, in this case Lillie does want to remember... as scary as it might be.
Eventually the teleporting leads to the Aether Lab... where Faba wanted to keep the incident a secret if to save his own hide. The bastard took Lillie and tried to erase her memories, which resulted in Gladion coming in with his Type:Null... that broke his helmet and kicked butt as a Silvally, to rescue Lillie.
There... she remembers what happened, she remembered what happened... she remembered Silvally pouncing on the Nihilego that caused her so much pain.
With that mystery clicked... Lillie started being more open to touching pokemon and she relished every fun moment now her phobia is gone.
Then Faba came along, took Nebby and caused a chain of events that lead to Lillie and her family meeting Nihilego again. That pokemon... caused Lillieâs fear to surface, through that event... the thing nabbed Lusamine and went into Ultra Space with her.
More trauma and leading to the girl finding a new goal... to rescue her Mother from the Ultra Beast.
That is when she takes on her Z powered form, the meaning behind the clothes is a BIT different, her stepping out of her sheltered world in an attempt to become more braze... instead of taking life into her own hands.
With this courage, she and Gladion went off to Poni Island and the alter to rescue their mother. She also helped her brother over come a Totem Kommo-o during this journey.
Once they reached the alter, Ash and the others came by to lend their supporting hand. The Tapus come and Ash brought Nebby... where the evolution end up happening and they all go into Ultra Deep Sea.
The world of Nihilego... where Lillie and the group found Mother Beast Lusamine... who thanks to the venom now drugging her out of her skull is acting like a child. She shouts out pretty harsh things to her kids and in her rampage, nearly kills them when she tries to run from them.
Along the way, the Mother Beast sends out her Pokemon against the class mates. Most keeping them at bay, with the final pokemon our heroes having to confront, being Clefable... a pokemon Lillie has a close bond with.
Even if it is a pacifist way, Lillie had the guts to try and snap Clefable out of the mother beasts control with... a pretty sappy I love you speech and a hug. (Dangerous as hell... but it worked.)
Then she, Clefable, Ash and Gladion reached the Mother Beast into a corner... where Lillie had a different choice of words to the Mother Beast. A chewing at Lusamine for her neglectful behavior, for treating Lillie like a baby and turning around to act like a bigger one. For letting work and that desire to see a UB take priority over her kids... and becoming a puppet for the UB.
That speech... worked on snapping Lusamine out of the haze... but then Nihilego took control and tried to swat Lillie. Then comes Ash using that 10,000,000 volt Z move out of nowhere and knocking Nihilego off of Lusamine.
The heroes rescue Lusamine, go home and... even if Lillie changed back to her old look, she had pretty good development to where she isnât the same timid wreck she was. (Remember, Lusamine isnât a control freak in the anime... the clothes have a different meaning and Lillie doesnât have a reason to toss it out when there isnât a symbol of an overbearing shadow.)
While Lillie is a try hard that over does herself from this point forward, she ends up taking more steps to becoming more mature and braver. (Including being part of the Ultra Guardians and dealing with more UBâs...being willing to do that as well.) Like fighting a Tyranitar that was terrorizing a group of Alolan Sandshrew, she and her Vulpix helped the Alpha shrew fight back... drive Tyranitar out and in exchange, got an Icium Z and an ice stone. Showing that more is going to be done.
As of now, she and Gladion want to look for their missing father... Mohn.
That girl is taking another big step in trying to help... by finding a way to restore a Magearnaâs soul heart and becoming stronger so she CAN do something to get him back... to give her family that needed closure. This... is becoming something that might surpass the way the games told this families story if it plays its cards right. We just need to wait and see.
Lillie becoming brave enough to face this big obstacle, for the sake of her family.

THAT ENDING SCENE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL, the music, the animation, the adorable way the Tapus made Satoshiâs Z-Ring âevolveâ, how Koko showed him the moves for it just like when they first met and how everyone came together for the âZENRYOKU DAâ when Satoshi did his âThis is our full power!â Z-move catchphrase, it really felt like they were embarking onto some grand final adventure. Unfortunately the big emotional Solgaleo evolution scene fell a little flat for me just because I donât personally care about Hoshigumo/Nebby that much in the anime, it hasnât done enough in the relatively short amount of time weâve known it, and it hasnât established a strong enough bond with anyone, the fact that the scene was pretty much exactly the same in the games but with the appropriate build up doesnât help, like I HAVE to compare them. Lilieâs part especially felt forced because of it. Thanks to spoilers we know that thereâs going to be a dedicated farewell episode for Solgaleo after the climax of this arc, so Iâm hoping theyâll manage to somehow make that one feel right. Other points: - My prediction of Kojiro trying to pass off Cosmoem as yet another Koffing pre-evolution stage came through and it was hilarious, though it got busted once Solgaleo appeared, alas. xD - Kukui having a Braviary is cool but the fact that weâve never seen it is very odd especially in SM where most Pokemon are constantly out of their Balls, I donât see why Braviary would be an exception outside of âit wasnât planned/they wanted to save it for a surpriseâ. Maybe itâs old and prefers to rest most of the time? Kukui called it his âpartnerâ and heâs an adult so I assume heâs had it for a really long time. - Gladioâs emotions felt very real to me, he quickly became impatient and rude towards the Tapus due to their lighthearted nature (understandably so, his motherâs on the line) and his plea to Solgaleo in the end felt desperate, like he was ashamed of his behaviour but still needed to ask for help. Next episode is looking pretty interesting in terms of the action, lots of chaos and teamwork, hopefully the classmates (and Satoshiâs other Pokemon) get to show off their best~

My Two Coins:Â My argument on Defense
Disclaimer: "My Two Coins" are to be read as such, someone's two coins about the topic at hand. IF at any point you disagree with it or agree, remember they are just my coins about said topic and the value you have of it will differ from my own because of religion, upbringing, beliefs, and logic based on your own experiences. Do not assume my coins are the international equivalent for it may be considered of a lesser value in the bank of public exchange. Thank you.
âWhy didn't you complain about the previous third versions/sequels/whatever that did the same thing? That shows you are biased against Gen VII.â
Iâm saying it Once and Iâm saying it again.... BIAS MY@$$!!!
Welcome ladies and gentlemen. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And Iâve been given this a lot lately with some of my more personal allies and I feel like I have got to defend myself once again. Though itâll be in response to each of the criticism that Iâve been sent my way along with extra notes to go with my replies.
=1=
"The removal could be to like you stated, the Framerate is poor. It also doesn't help that they weren't even popular in the first place. You queue for a triple or rotation battle in previous generations and you can be sitting there for maybe 30-40 minutes? Think about it, the game is all 3d, that is a LOT of space being used up and compressed for code and other information."
The patience some people have is sad when I look at it. Â (Though makes me wish that my time would have been included for that) Â I've considered that 3d animation takes time but at times the Pokemon have vanished when attacks are used...trainer included. Â So it could have worked still to a degree. Â This is the most bendable of points since the programming isn't easy.
-
And I mean it as the Programming that probably is going to be a problem when trying to get certain things into a certain space but then again they had managed to do it before to fit a number of details into the game so it isnât as easy to do but it is possible if by working edges to smooth them out.
=2=
"Super Training was bullshit and I never used it. The change of pace for Island Trials was due to the face Alolan didn't follow the rest of the world in the system. The Gen I pandering is to be excepted as the region is neighbors with Kanto. The Ultra Beasts were an interesting twist on PokĂ©mon Legendaries/Mythicals And really, the whole story. I'm sorry to say this, but it sounds like she is bitching over spilled milk, crying because she wanted another dull PokĂ©mon Game.â
Super Training wasn't bs because it honestly will tell you what EVs you are giving which is a lot more than what the islands are doing.
Doesn't excuse how they aren't as filling as the trainer battles and Gym battles. Â The fact would be one of the more filling battles that were given with the gyms was oddly a Gen 3 battle (the 7th one oddly...better known in Emerald for having 4 Pokemon to worry about.) so in a way I wasn't in as much a headache with the Gym system and more with the Trials.
I might as well see Mt Moon with how that seems to be that close to Kanto with all those Pokes. Â I mean there are other generations that deserve some love and barely got any (Gen 5 especially...I mean Audino for the only mega poke? Â And I could count nearly 19 of them before you get through half the islands.) so it would help to see more mon that isn't just restricted to Gen 1 remixes?
Cosmog was an interesting concept. Â The Ultra Beast had some promise, but the story was about LILLY and her mostly needing your help to find answers while you randomly get the story pointed to you instead of the main goal of it being on you when the boring part of her quest kicks in. Â Followed by Edgy the wannabe rival that tries to be the blue you wanted at the last minute when the Professor did a better job of that and he was more interested in seeing you grow out of anyone else. Â And that's on top of the fact that I accepted that Hau wasn't going to be the strong battler rival of the game. Â So excuse me for being factual on something that was done wrong and judged the game on its own before comparing it to the rest of the legacy which this is the weakest by far.

And how can one defend this one since they literally have you working around everyone else and barely have anyone really interested in you as a true trainer to watch grow sans the professor when you begin. Hau is the friendly fighter whoâs just trying to grow beyond his Grandpa, Edge Prince Gladion is a last-minute fighter using an apparent god fighting Pokemon that apparently got a type power up stronger than yours. At least the professor fights you on your level of sorts. Ultra Beasts storyline kind of is left to the aftergame and barely anything really revealed about them. The only one that kind of gets development before you get it is Cosmog who kind of goes with you all over (though it tells you something when Lilly is able to carry Cosmoem) so itâs workable.

âSeriously, Sun and Moon got me back into series after the disappoint of X/Y. I liked the story, but at the same time, X/Y was just boring outside of it. Same old same old. I mean, I love it when you beat the champion and then the old King himself AZ appears and challenges you. It just seems she hates everything new they are trying to do."
I honestly felt more enlightened to Pokemon thanks to Black and White and X and Y felt like more the most completed revival of the series that people wanted out of the Black and White. Â And sure I understand there are risk and reward for trying something new but when the new fails it is time to call it out on THAT and at least wait to see if it gets better or worst. Â I'm kind of happy that you can hatch 19-24 eggs in one time, happy you can get rare items and stones to sell and use for your Pokemon to evolve, and I'm happy that they added more ways to battle with the Battle Royal and made it that you are the champion and are defending your belt against different trainers instead of just taking on the same foe again (Fun fact: for the mission of that sort I took it on and did it 5 times which I took on Hau, The Dragon Rocker, the Professor, Team Skull's former babysitter, and the kid on route 1. :P ) so excuse me for seeing the negatives outway the positives but when it is true... it is flipping true.

And Iâm not kidding about it since I had to hunt for the reasons why I liked Gen 7 instead of finding it flowing out like a river of water. If Orre was more memorable than alola then thereâs a problem.

"Platinum and Emerald were done in literally half of a year. And B2W2 had worse footing then Sun and Moon. If that is not a paste job, I dunno what is anymore. I'm just going to stand on my ground of that, a majority of the Pokémon Community is spoiled. I mean, look at Kirby games. Most of them are nearly similar in gameplay and theme but always get extreme praise. There is very little hate towards it, so why on God's Green Earth is Pokémon getting it?"
-.- (GOD that is so incorrect.) Time for a bit of a time check...
Gen 1: September 28th, 1998 Yellow: October 19th, 1999 ({=Unexpected here. Â Then again I was moving during this time.)
Gen 2: October 15th, 2000 Crystal: July 29th, 2001 ({= Here is under a year.)
Gen 3: March 17th, 2003 Emerald: Â May 1st, 2005
Gen 4: April 22nd, 2007 Platinum: March 22nd, 2009
Gen 5: Â March 6th, 2011 B2/W2: Â October 7th, 2012
Gen 6: October 12th, 2013 ({= I had to flinch at how short this date was.) ORAS: Â November 21st, 2014 ({= Only thing comparable for the time.)
Gen 7: November 18th, 2016 Ultra S/Ultra M: November 17th, 2017
They only did going under a year twice... and that's before the 3rd comes up. Â I'm one of the few that try to make my own Pokemon from the ground up and the only thing I hate worst than this generation is what is flipping going with Smogon so think of it like this: I might hate Gen 7 (Which might not change my mind when the newest of it comes out and I got to work with it.) but I rather play with that than step anywhere near Smogon at all costs. Â Sure competitive Pokemon is a mess but I would want that to grow and be more diverse than what I'm seeing from the worst of the community which is in that area of toddlers.

And Iâm being truthful here. I REALLY despise Smogon with such a fury that it makes My gen 7 hate I got to look like a cake compared to a Snorlax dinner that is the fury I have for Smogon.

And thatâs EACH and every counterpoint and I will still defend my argument to the end since it is under a year...and in a way, I expected more in a way from Game Freak, The Pokemon Company, and the people that know their history and support them. I might be one voice but after all the things that went wrong with this one Iâll be glad to get out of vacation mode in Pokemon. Write to me if you feel like Iâm write, right, wrong, or mixed in some way. After all THIS is a text box.
As for me... this wild one runs away!
