AGT All-Stars: Preliminaries 5

10: Archie Williams. I was really hoping Archie would have an original song by now, since that's always something that can help moderately good singers stand out more in this competition...This is why the votes he has received have never been proportional to the hype he has always gotten; Voters can tell that beyond his story, he is merely a very nice singer...I really do wish him the best; He deserves nothing less after all he's been through...But I also wish for him to be more than just a cover artist...Maybe the big artists he's such close friends with will give him some coaching...

9: Jasper Cherry. WOW! He actually made everyone's clock go back!? ...Or...he moved his OWN clock forward and then wound it back...I think he has promise, and he will surely hone his magic skills as he gets older...For now though, he's just okay...

8: Yumbo Dump. Well, they got Heidi to like them, finally...That's definitely SOME kind of accomplishment...I've always been more of a Human Fountains fan (though Simon may disagree). But they're pretty amusing characters, and it's funny how they put so much production into something so...silly...

7: Axel Blake. Some relatable stuff in there, but I have a feeling this wasn't his best material. (I mean, he won BGT, so he must have been SOMETHING special, right...?) Though maybe I'm just having trouble hearing his jokes through his thick Idris-Elba-esque accent...

6: Mandy Harvey. I saw her in the promo, but I didn't recognize her with her little makeover...Well, that was a nice SAMPLE of her new song, but I would have liked to hear the whole thing...Regardless, my praise for her from Season 12 still stands...

5: Mervant Vera. Once again, it was mostly a freestyle rap performance, with a VERY brief generic magic trick at the end...The rap was a little messy, but nonetheless I do find this guy very unique and talented...

4: Peter Rosalita. Honestly, Peter is one of my favorite child singers I've seen on this show, and I feel he should have been the kid in the Season 16 Finals instead of that Victory girl...While I never had any issue with his song choices, it's nice to see him move away from 80s ballads with a song from a Disney movie from the 90s that a lot of people don't like...I guess he...went the distance?

3: Ana-Maria Margean. So...it's Romanian Darci Lynne...There's just no other way of looking at it, it's Darci Lynne all over again...Same general age, same vocal range, same cutesy puppet banter...Oh well! I would have definitely preferred Terry Fator, but I'll take another go at the singing prodigy ventriloquist in the Finals!

2: World Taekwondo Demonstration Team. I VERY NEARLY gave them the top spot in the list, but watching them back, I didn't see any new tricks that really stepped it up from what we've seen before...Regardless, the way they send splinters flying all over the place is still very cool to watch, and they hit Simon in the face several times, which is also a plus! It still would have been cool for an act like them to go to the Finals with the Group GB stamp, but again, there weren't any big surprises...

1: Tom Ball...THIS guy on the other hand...I never thought anyone could get away with belting “The Sound of Silence” at the top of their lungs, but somehow this gentleman pulled it off! (Now if he can just manage those super-bushy eyebrows...) He managed to make it big and compelling while singing in three octaves! For once, I actually believe Simon when he says that he could have won BGT with that performance...In fact, if he plays his cards right, he could win All-Stars...(Again, not that it matters...Right now as I write this, people online have already leaked this season's results...)

I had a feeling that two singers would make it through this week...Both of them were excellent, so I have no real complaints, especially since the singing category is actually in the minority for the Finals for once...

So, it looks like Kodi and Brandon will be competing with each other on the same week after all...Well, I guess it's easy enough to assume that one of them will get the top vote next week, and I'm guessing it will be Kodi...

I also think I saw Lukas and Falco in there, as well as a giant choir (which one it is slips my mind...Angel City...?) And I am pretty sure I remember reading that Flau'jae, Daneliya Tuleshova, Josh Blue, and the legendary Sethward would be on this season as well...It will be an interesting week, but most of these acts don't stand a chance...
