Tumblr media
Shigaraki
his best skill is listening to you infodump. he'll play video games while still actively listening and responding to you because he knows that's how you show your love
times all your meltdowns and tracks the triggers too
he thinks you look cutest when you're in your comfy, tagless pajamas and will make sure that you know important it is to him that you're in a sensory friendly environment
if anyone in public starts to make fun of you for carrying your comfort item around, he will decay them without hesitation.
Dabi
he tries so hard to make sure the temperature is perfect for you. he knows how overstimulated you get when it's too hot or too cold.
won't hesitate to take hold of your hands and arms if you start to exhibit self injury behavior. he'd rather you hurt him than yourself.
lets you fidget with his piercings even though he knows it's a bad idea. if you really need it, he's got you. he's always got you.
the minute you say you're done, he's got you in his arms and you're headed home - even if it's mid battle.
he will burn any tags off your clothes - sometimes burning the clothes themselves on accident - but you don't care. you think it's sweet.
Twice
he will literally be whatever you need. he'll use his quirk to guard you if you're having a meltdown, so you're safe from all sides
he gives the best mindless cuddles when you're feeling overwhelmed but don't have the words
makes sure that you're safe all the time - sends like 30 texts a day
will always make sure that you know you can always say no to a mission or a trip. it's your choice, and if shigaraki has an issue with it, he will take the heat.
Toga
oh you are her ANGEL!!!! She soothes you whenever you're having a meltdown
she'll tell you stories to distract you and play with your hair too, scratching your scalp because you love that
keeps you safe at all costs, public or private. you are her favorite, and anyone who makes you feel unwelcome or unsafe is her number one enemy.
keeps your blood in a heart shaped vial not even to use it, but because she loves having a bit of you around.
Spinner
literally ends up hyperfixating on half of your special interests
quality time is everything to him, so he’ll sit with you while you basically do anything just to body double for you!
makes sure that you know you’re safe when your body tells you you’re not
he buys you something related to either a safe food item or a sensory friendly clothing item everytime he goes out because he wants to make sure you never feel any amount of discomfort
Compress
he checks in FREQUENTLY. You always get a text after he leaves and while he’s gone and when he’s on his way home and-
He will marble you if people start to overstimulate you, then he’ll bring you home immediately and start to make you tea!!
he’s one to tell you how beloved you are and that anyone who’s cruel to you will be disposed of immediately
You’re his world. He makes sure that you’re aware of that every single chance he gets. Endless cuddles!!!!
Kurogiri
hey, if you need out of a crowd? He’s got you for sure!!!
there’s a little shirakumo there too so he’s extra careful with you when you’re struggling (:
He wants to protect you, he feels the same draw to you as he feels with shigaraki
basically will do anything to keep you away from anything that may harm you, even yourself <3
Magne
she will also kill anyone who hurts you or vaguely looks at you wrong
always tells the rest of the league to leave you alone when she sees you overstimulated or even close to feeling uncomfortable
supports you being your most authentic and real self!! Never wants you to mask (:
helps you explore your identity while making you feel safe and comfortable!!!

I dont follow you. I've never seen your blog until it came up on my dash while I scrolled. So I don't know who you think I am, I'm not them though
"I am not [X], I am just a random person with no motivation. who, upon being randomly suggested your tagless vent post, having never interacted with your blog, decided to scroll multiple days back to check out your posting behavior at time of venting and criticize you, just for fun."

Imma get SKAMMED fir this. But i, as a person with the tism...i truly think Seungmin is SOMEWHEREx on the spectrum, even if its low need/low dependency. He is, i can see the behaviors, i see the food icks, i peep it all.
And so here i am, how do you think he would handle his autistic partner? The good, the bad and the overstim.
I see what you see 👀.
Honestly, this was probably the most challenging thing for me to come up with because the people around me don't help me much with what I go through day to day so... I had no idea what to write. I've thought about this for so long but this is what I came up with. 😅
I based this off of my own experiences, struggles and preferences 💕
Tumblr media
The Good:
Seungmin is a cute lil bully but he’s a sucker for you and is always looking for ways to help. He’ll order for you at every restaurant because he hates seeing you panic and study your order a million times. He's pretty much memorized everything down to your go-to drink so it’s easy for him to say “Don’t worry about ordering. I got it”
He makes beats out of your stimming. When you’re tapping on a table or rocking a lot he’ll start humming and doing some complimentary tapping. You two have made up so many songs that you could make an album out of them
He makes sure that all of his hoodies are tagless so that when you steal them you aren’t bothered by the annoying tags tickling you. If it has a tag he did that to keep you from taking it.
Skzoo Earplugs (I actually need this asap)
Your comfort scent is EVERYWHERE. Candles, perfume, laundry detergent, incense, you name it.
A weighted blanket with his scent on it… need I say more?
The Bad:
He understands that you get overwhelmed but he hates that he can’t practice  a song for more than two hours around you. Everytime you say that you’re sensitive to him practicing a high note he clenches his jaw and bites his tongue before just stopping all together or leaving to go to the company.
He gets a bit impatient when he has to guess what’s wrong with you. Are you hungry? Tired? Do you need to use the bathroom? He doesn’t know and neither do you.
Neither of you want to clean the sink drain so… what now?
He’s called you ten times but your phone is on vibrate… in the other room.
Overstim:
Walks, walks, walks and more walks. Doesn’t matter what time it is, he’s taking you to get some fresh air. The two of you don’t even have to speak, just enjoy each others company
He’s the king of distractions. Dancing, singing and being a complete goofball just to try and calm you down.
He has a mini meltdown kit in almost every room, you aren’t even aware that half of them exist but it’s there, so when he randomly pulls out a stress ball from the kitchen cabinet to try and redirect your attention try not to be too surprised.
He has a code word that lets the guys know to keep quiet. If they hear him say ‘Jupiter’ all sound fades or everyone leaves.
He has a stim apps on his phone. Tons of apps that can ground you and even some that help you communicate when the sound of your own voice is too much to handle.

so, hey, i was thinking about something recently.
i've noticed some tumblr users who don't frequently make commentary tags on posts will, when choosing to do so, reblog the post tagless from someone, and then reblog it again from themself to add their tags. i assume this is because they don't want to annoy the person they're reblogging from, since some time ago notifications started including added tags to the activity feed.
i always figured this was a personal thing. like, tumblr tagging culture is what it is, and there's no harm in seeing your followers' tags if they're not things you actively disagree with, right? i miss when everyone did commentary tags. i love seeing them! i follow so many people that don't do them at all, but i sort of attributed that to a change in the culture. and maybe i'm right, but also... are people annoyed when someone reblogs things from them and adds commentary tags?
is sparing the people you follow from seeing your commentary tags in their activity feed tumblr etiquette now?
i don't really intend to change my behavior as this is how i like to blog, but i am curious. let me know your thoughts?

Efficient, Extensible, Expressive: Typed Tagless Final Interpreters in Rust
This blew my mind (partially thanks to the idea, partially due to the high-level (for me) Rust). In short, we can look at designing APIs as designing Domain-Specific Languages and writing interpreters for this. A simple way to write a DSL is an enum with an entry for each operation or literal, to represent our Abstract Syntax Tree. An interpreter is then a fn using eg. pattern matching on the enum. This is called the "initial" style. However, this layer of abstraction adds overhead and prevents us from leveraging some capabilities of the host language, such as type checking of our DSL expressions, and pushes their evaluation to runtime.
The core is then introducing the "final" style, where we leverage host language constructs directly - numbers, functions, expressions are those of the host language. They are type-checked and evaluated at compile time. The DSL is defined using traits, with generic associated types (GAT). It is as expressive as the initial style, but more efficient and type checked. Which is critical for higher order languages, ie. DSLs that take a function as a value (think of map, filter, etc). Different interpreters are then different impl of the trait(s).
The final style also solves the expression problem of statically typed programming languages - ie. that it's hard to come up with an abstraction that is easily extensible with both behaviors (think adding multiplication to a calculator DSL) and representations (e.g. mathematically evaluating the expression vs printing it to a string). You only need to add the new operation to the trait and implement just that for each interpreter - and the compiler will tell you where.

amplify: Learning blocks
Barb Flowers had a problem. The office manager/resource coordinator at Community Family Partnership of Network180 in Grand Rapids, Mich., wanted to encourage more parents to attend training events for a program that works with children living with behavioral and mental health issues.
She found a solution in two small but effective pieces of training swag—a punch card and a Hanes® Tagless® T-Shirt.
Custom tees make effective giveaways!
“We do parent training once per month,” Flowers said. “We also run classes where we bring in a speaker for six to eight sessions so that parents can learn about a topic like keeping safe on social media or parenting children with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). We also do a big family dinner once a month, with different themes and activities.”
Flowers used the Engaged, Equipped and Involved Connect Card as an incentive for parents. With every event they attended, parents earned a punch. When they reached six punches, they were awarded the T-shirt.
“We wanted to use (the shirt) first because we wanted the people who use our programming to get the sense of belonging to something,” she said.
Thanks to the punch card, T-shirt and other training giveaways, event attendance has improved.
“People always say, ‘Been there, done that, got the T-shirt,’ and here, we really mean it!” Flowers said.
Making the most of educational opportunities
Companies clearly understand the importance of fresh education and training, with one study showing that corporations around the world spent $70.6 billion on training in a single year.
But getting people to take advantage of educational opportunities—and getting the most out of them—can be a struggle. With the help of these tips and some training swag, you can break down some of the most common barriers to learning.
  BARRIER #1: Attracting attendees
The first challenge is letting people know training is available. To start the conversation, 4imprint trainers turn to promotional products.
“Once a year, 4imprint has a benefits fair for employees. The training department is always there, along with a schedule that lets people know what sort of training options are going to be available over the next few months,” said Mark Wolzenburg, e-learning and curriculum specialist at 4imprint.
“We’ll usually offer employees who come to the table to talk about educational opportunities a pen, sticker or magnet,” Wolzenburg added.
In addition to offering training giveaways, try these tips:
Link attendance to your goals
Helping people understand the value of your training will go a long way toward raising interest. “The best way to get people to attend classes is to make certain they’re relevant and interesting,” Wolzenburg said.
Offer something tangible
Course attendees may feel like they put in a lot of effort with nothing visible to show for it. Offer recognition for continuing education, like a note in their personnel file or a certificate in a holder.
BARRIER #2: Getting them in the door
Even if people sign up for training they may not show up, sometimes for the most human of reasons: They simply forget!
Send reminders. Email is the easiest and least expensive way to communicate with training registrants. But to stay top of mind, mail training giveaways, like a foam puzzle with the training date printed on the side.
Remind registrants about your training with this fun cube!
  BARRIER #3: Keeping them engaged
Learning improves when attendees are engaged. How do you keep their focus? Eventbrite offers some tips:
Turn statistics into stories
A study by the London School of Business found that people only recall 5 to 10 percent of the statistics they hear. But by telling the same information as a story, retention skyrockets up to 70 percent.
Keep it short
Training sessions should last no more than two hours. If you’re offering daylong training, take several breaks to get people moving and rest their minds.
Reward Participation
Participants will be more likely to pay attention and answer questions if they get something in return. Try a piece of training swag. Financial analysis software company Visible Equity used the Nike® Workout Plus Duffel as a prize during their software training sessions.
Surprise trainees with prizes that showcase your organization!
While attendees didn’t know at first they could win participation prizes, the promo item got them talking.
“We give out the Nike bags to those who answer questions correctly during the training, or who do something to win them,” said Director of Marketing Valerie Jackson. “We have funny competitions, and the winner will receive the bag. It’s more of a prize giveaway—they don’t expect it but love it.”
BARRIER #4: Helping them retain what they learned
Learners lose 56 percent of information after one hour, 66 percent after a day, and 75 percent after six days.
There are ways to slow this process:
Have trainees explain the information to one another
Review important information at regular intervals
Quiz attendees on key points
Break down barriers for learning success
By toppling the barriers that prevent people from learning and retaining information, you’ll help them become better employees. Use training swag for an A+ presentation.
Keep your learners engaged with these promotional giveaways.
Digital note takers will appreciate keeping laptops tidy.
Share a refreshing treat to keep them motivated.

Sensory Friendly Halloween
Halloween can actually be a nightmare for those with sensory processing disorders, and it’s not a joke. Consider bright and blurring lights, screams, hordes of brightly colored neon blobs running in all different directions. In addition to this, you are wearing something that requires you to constantly pick at it, pull, scratch, and in general feels like sandpaper against your skin.
So, if this impacts a person you know and love, there are a few things you can do. We know that just staying uninvolved in a treasured holiday isn’t always an option, though it would be the easiest solution. The foundation of our remedy will come from the costume itself.
Costume
Soft and silky costumes can absolutely help individuals who struggle with seams and scratchy fabric. For those who can still fit toddler sizes, there are soft minkey costumes lined with a silky fabric. These are the plush costumes under the brand “Hyde and Eek” and run 20$-25$. There are choices from monkey to unicorn to flamingo rider.
If your superhero still insists on that polyester superhero costume, there are options for you as well. By combining some therapeutic clothing with a costume, you can have your badass costume and comfort too. Companies like Kozie Clothes, Skinnies, and Fun and Function, feature underclothes that offer a silky feel, compression, or tagless features.
Or say SCREW IT and just throw on a shirt that says, “This is my Halloween Costume” and embrace the fact that this holiday is supposed to be FUN!
Trick or Treat
This can be so tricky, do you see what I did there? Individuals, with autism especially, do better when something is familiar and sometimes become frustrated with new activities. If you make the choice to go trick or treating, there are a few techniques that can be used.
Try a “dry run” by going to your neighbors and rehearsing the trick or treating with someone they know. Some parents with non-verbal children have opted for a sticker detailing this individual has autism. Now, this resolution is absolutely not necessary and you owe no person an explanation for an individuals behavior but some parents have expressed that it relieves the expectation of a specific behavior. Also, look for homes participating in the Teal Pumpkin Movement for non-candy treats. There is also the option of sound isolating headphones that can help eliminate the screaming and scary sound effects. Lastly, try getting out earlier while there is still daylight and fewer participants to cut down on over-stimulation.
Most importantly, do not expect too much from those who experience sensory processing disorders, social, and communication disabilities. Keep it fun and as soon as the individual is finished, let it be over.

Here the text only: ........ Published on ADDitudeMag.com All the Feelings, All the Time ADHD seems to exacerbate and exaggerate everything — especially our senses. If you taste, smell, or hear in extremes, you're not alone. Here are common ADHD hypersensitivities — and expert recommendations for dialing them down. The Truth About Hypersensitivity How is it that other people brush off the little annoyances that drive us crazy — like bright lights, grating sounds, and scratchy clothing? Ever been told you’re "too sensitive" when you just can’t stand a dripping faucet for one more second? Don’t worry — it's totally normal. A lot of the time, hypersensitivity goes hand in hand with ADHD. Here's what your fellow ADHDers had to say about what bugs them the most! Tactile Sensitivities "Clothing tags are pure evil." – Denise Coles Padget "I used to have to take my jewelry off on bad days because it made me feel confined and it would be all I could think about." – Molly St.Cyr "My dental hygienist made fun of me today for having a sensitive mouth. She called me weird. I think I'll ask for a different lady." – Melinda Mims Buell "Can't stand lotion on the palms of my hands." – Emily Froelich Auditory Sensitivities "Repetitive sounds like ticking clocks, dripping taps. Ugh." – Tracy Tebow Davies "Loud noises without a doubt! My kids can scare me out of my skin if I'm not paying attention." – Lisa DeBree Tucker "People chewing with their freaking mouths open." – Ramon Magana Lemus "Eating utensils scraping plate..... makes my teeth want to crumble and fall out." – Lisa Taylor Olfactory Sensitivities "Perfume smells, especially flowery and berry smells!" – Carmen Patterson "Hate the smell of petrol." – Andrea Nicola Henderson "Perfume, spray deodorants, hairspray, diesel fume, petrol fume, natural gas fumes, body odor, bad breath." – Katrina Dowd "Scents... especially vanilla candles!" – Jodi Reinhart Visual Sensitivities "Flickering lights send me over the edge — make me feel nauseous, headaches." – Melissa Price "Halogen lights on emergency vehicles = instant migraine." – Tina Renea Bealmear-Brown "Leg wiggling!" – Zoe Sophia Sohns "Sunglasses are a must all year 'round." – Emily Froelich Claustrophobic Sensitivities "Crowded places and elevators with more than 4 people in them. Makes me want to break and run." – Jan Melton Davis "I cannot tell you how many times I have left the grocery store leaving the nearly full cart behind because I was overwhelmed by all the 'stuff' in the store." – Erin Foley-Machnik "People too close to my bubble." – Heather DeMaio Teles "Anyone touching my hair!" – Evelyn Plaksin How to Manage Sensitivities Sharon Heller, a developmental psychologist who specializes in sensory processing issues like hypersensitivity, says taking a holistic "whole body" healing approach can help us manage hypersensitivities. A good treatment plan, she says, includes regular exercise, calming practices like yoga or meditation, and proper nutrition. Address Each Sensitivity Alone “Each sensitivity, be it emotional or physical, must be addressed on its own merits,” says ADHD expert Zoe Kessler. This means treating the problem at the source. So, says Kessler, "if tags in your shirts drive you crazy, cut off the tags or buy tagless shirts!” Advocate for Yourself Don't be ashamed of or bashful about your sensitivities, says Kessler. “Ask for the radio and TV to be turned down in public areas — your wish may not be granted, but you can ask. Failing that, we can move to a different table or a quieter area. We can take a ‘timeout’ when feeling overstimulated at a public event” — without beating ourselves up for being 'too sensitive.'" Exploit the Positives You can take it even further, says Kessler, by making each hypersensitivity work in your favor. Emotionally sensitive? This likely means you’re extra intuitive and highly empathetic, and would be successful working with animals, children, or as a therapist. Sensitive to sounds? Someone with extra-intense hearing could become an excellent musician or recording engineer if trained to exploit this "superpower." When Is Therapy An Option? If your hypersensitivity is interfering with your ability to function in your daily life, consider cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Heller agrees and says, "If you've been hypersensitive for a long time — and especially from infancy on — you may also experience anxiety and depression, which may require therapy."
