Snack to the Future

Episode 1, Crashing into Friendship: The story begins with Earth's space ship crash-landing on Mars, where she meets Bleemo. Bleemo being Bleemo, offers to take Earth to Fe-9's shop. At first Earth doesn't want to go, insisting she can fix the space ship herself. That is, until she realizes her cozzle-nog driver is broken, and it happen to be the only thing on the ship she didn't pack a spare part for. Bleemo takes Earth to Fe-9's shop, but she doesn't have any cozzle-nog drivers on hand, so they go on a gadget shopping spree. Finally they make it back to Earth's space ship, and Fe-9 replaces the cozzle-nog driver. Bleemo and Fe-9 offer to come with Earth as she travels to Pluto to pick up some supplies, but she says no. Unfortunately for her, when she closes the space ship door and turns around, Bleemo and Fe-9 are already in the ship and they're blasting off.

Episode 2, Cheese, Please, and a Passenger to Go: Bleemo makes Earth stop at McGanymedes, where the end up picking up a Dust Hare named Vex who just quit his job. While they're eating, Bleemo doodles some kind of cheese spraying flying machine on a napkin. Once Vex quits his job, he asks if he can ride with the trio. Earth tries to say no, but Bleemo beats her and says yes. They leave McGanymedes, continuing their journey to the edge of the solar system.

Episode 3, The Cuteness Conspiracy: The engine starts sputtering, and Earth checks the ship's rear-view camera to discover that Space Termites, metal eating termites that live in space, have eaten through the gas pipe, causing all of their rocket fuel to leak into the void. She then pulls off to a gas station (name TBD) on Saturn's rings. Bleemo finds an abandoned 12-year-old Ursa named Nova behind the gas station. She and Bleemo then convince Earth to let Nova come along for the ride by using The Undeniable Puppy Eyes of Cuteness™ against her.

Episode 4, Fast and Flurrious: They finally get back on the road (the space way???) and are about to pass up Uranus when- BAM! -something smashes into the side of the ship. Vex lets loose a string of curses and Fe-9 is covering Nova's ears. They all look outside to find none other than Cassy the Comet, an illegal space way racer. She pushes the ship towards Uranus' rings, flying so fast she passes up the planet three times before finally landing. Once Fe-9 gets the ship patched back up, Earth says the she will not be letting a felon onto her ship, but Bleemo says "but you let Vex on your ship" with no further explanation, so Earth, who's been getting softer and softer, agrees to let Cassy fly along outside of the ship and make sure nothing else hits them.

Episode 5, Nacho Average Snack Run: Bleemo and Nova accidentally hit the “Emergency Snack Dispenser” thinking it’s the bathroom button. The ship goes into lockdown and won’t resume flight until restocked with Neptune-grade dehydrated cheese cubes. They land at a floating snack bar on Neptune’s upper atmosphere and find it under pirate siege. While trying to find the snack storage, Fe-9 stumbles across a trapped android dog (Rivet) being used by the pirates as a decoder for their stolen tech. She frees him and brings him aboard.

Episode 6, Slime and Punishment: The group FINALLY makes it to Pluto. Earth tells everyone they can go shopping at the Plotonian Mall where she'll be picking up her supplies. She stays behind on the ship and calls Mother, who threatens her when she finds out Earth has gone soft for the crew. Earth says something to make her happy, but little does she know a certain slime fox has sneaked its way on board and heard the entire conversation. Earth gets her supplies and everyone comes back to the ship. That's when Gloop reveals themself, and Earth's "plan" with Mother. Everyone leaves the ship, except Bleemo, who asks Earth why she did it. 1 heartfelt talk later, Bleemo decides to gather the crew and

Episode 7, Escape from Snacklantis: Bleemo convinces everyone to come back and fight Mother alongside him and Earth. They even recruit Gloop. Earth finally allows Cassy to take the pilot's seat, and they zoom off towards Earth (er, well- the planet). They get to Earth and rush in without much of a plan, which results in them getting easily knocked back be Mother. While they're all hiding out and trying to decide what to do, Bleemo remembers an idea they had before and shows it to Fe-9 and Rivet.

Episode 8, The Finale, The Snackrifice: At first, Rivet and Fe-9 are skeptical, but no one has a better plan, so they set to work building Bleemo's plan (which stays hidden from the audience until the Big Reveal). While their working, Earth sends out Gloop, Vex and Cassy to keep Mother distracted.

The camera is facing the group, who are all looking up at something behind the camera.

Fe-9: Ok… it's finished. All we have to do is load it up.

Rivet and Fe-9 and shown loading the giant can of Cheese Whiz into the machine that is just out of the camera's line of sight. A scene of The Resistance's hideout is shown, and suddenly a crazy giggling Nova blasts out of the wreckage, flying a… Cheeze Whiz Powered Rocket?! The camera follows her as she zigzags across the sky towards Mother. There's a crash, and the camera whips around to see Bleemo, Fe-9, and Earth piloting a giant Cheeze Whiz spying rocket. They fly around Mother, shooting cheese at her, and she begins to shrink. It's not long before she's half her normal size, and then one quarter. Finally, she's Nova sized just as the rocket runs out of cheese. Turns out Mother was…

A HANGRY TEENAGE KRAKEN?!

They land the Cheese Rocket down next to her, and Bleemo hops out. She holds a candy bar out to the teenager and says:

"Your not you when your hungry, have a Snickers."

Everything is fine, and the team is walking back to the ship.

Fe-9: We really need to come up with a name for our ship. Earth: OUR ship? Last I checked it's my name on the title. Bleemo: (ignoring Earth's comment) How about Ship Happens? Earth, Fe-9, Nova: NO! Bleemo: Alright, alright, jeez. What about… The Snackrifice? Vex: Actually, that's not half bad. Fe-9: The Snackrifice it is! Before anyone comes up with a worse pun. Earth: I still didn't agree to this.

And the screen fades to black…

Plow Chicka Plow Plow: Saint John shows off fleet of newly-named snowplows

The City of Saint John is showing off its fleet of newly-named snowplows.

Last month, the New Brunswick city teamed up with a local radio station to call on residents to submit names for four of its snowplows.

The city says it was overwhelmed by the positive response – almost 1,000 submissions – so it decided to name eight plows, rather than four.

Residents were then asked to vote for their favourites from a shortlist of 22 names, which the city says were chosen based on creativity, a Saint John connection, and humour.

Saint John says it received more than 4,000 votes for its first-ever “Name the Plow” contest. It released the winning names on Jan. 31 and showed off the fleet on social media for the first time Wednesday.

Each bright yellow plow bears one of the following names:

Kevin

Plow Chicka Plow Plow

Skip the Ditches

Nor'easter Beaster

Reversing Snowfalls

Port City Pusher

Froster Thurston

Fast and Flurrious

The names will be displayed on the plows for the rest of the 2023 winter season.
