Rhysand being evil is way more interesting than justifying his shitty decisions.
So here's my list of things Rhysand has done that I think make him evil.
1. His SA of Feyre UTM. Him drugging her and making her dance for him until she pukes
2. Illusory truth effect
3. Manipulates Feyre to glorify himself and make Tamlin look worse. Like he taxes his people but condemns the Tithe.. which is just a form of taxes.
4. Steals the book from Summer
5. Having Feyre be his pet in HC to get the Orb, but then didn't need her to put the Orb back.
6. Helps Cassian kill an entire town of Illyrians.
7. Doesn't stop the mistreatment of Females in the CoN.
8. Doesn't stop the mistreatment of Illyrian females or stop the wing clipping.
8. Tortures the fae of HC.
10. Didn't tell Feyre about the baby wings.
11. Locks Nesta up like a prisoner as a means to control her.
12. Kills 24 Winter Court children.
13. Suicide baiting Tamlin after he saved his life.
14. Threatening to kill Nesta after she told Feyre she was going to die
15. Twisting Feyre’s injured and infected arm and making her scream
16. Making Feyre hunt the ring from the freaking weaver as if testing her
17. Forcing Feyre into a bargain to punish Tamlin and control her.
I'm sure I'm missing some!
So please feel free to add to the list!
Also Amren was locked in that prison, possibly the reason she gave was a lie.
Mor is suspicious af.
Cassian is cruel and you can't convince me otherwise.
Azriel's job is literally torturing people..

This is me being ridiculous, please don't take this too seriously. But.
Chapter 21 in Acotar: Feyre meets Rhys for the first time
Chapter 21 Acomaf: Feyre goes to the Weaver, gets the ring and recognizes her immense powers
Chapter 21 Acowar: Nesta and Amren are training, and Nesta's journey is foreshadowed. They discuss the Prison, and Feyre explains what it is to Nesta. Feyre has a nightmare about UTM and her sisters being Made.
Chapter 21 Acofas: huge Nessian fight where Nesta throws the gift box in the river
Chapter 21 Acosf: Nesta and Elain fight over scrying, Elain states that she is not a child to be fought over, and Feyre reveals she’s having a baby.
If looked at as a whole narrative for Elain's book, all chapters 21 tells a story:
Feysand meeting: The book begins with Elain reminiscing about how she met Azriel. How she was still human and he was Fae. Same situation as her sister, who started it all.
Feyre/Weaver: The book starts to explore Elain's powers. She is tested in some way (Sees Bryce's arrival?) Sees a woman with a star on her chest arriving from a different world? Again, echoes Feyre's experiences at the Weaver's.
Prison/Nightmare: the main plot begins to be presented, and it deals with the Prison, the Daglan/Asteri, Dusk, etc. The Cauldron influences everything, especially Elain, who is connected to it.
The BIG FIGHT: Elain and Azriel confront each other and their feelings. The Elucien bond is dealt with as well. This would be the 'love' portion of the story.
Lastly, Elain goes on her own adventure. Her journey begins and she leaves to fulfill her destiny.
This is just for fun, but it's kind of interesting to connect the dots. I don't know if they are supposed to be connected. But if they are, this is the story we'd be looking at.

You word things so well and you are so right. What do you think Eris thought of Feyre? All through the trials, the lap dances and then her victory and switching to Rhys etc?
you are very kind🥺🫶🏻 i appreciate you askin me things that give me the opportunity to pull eris apart like a barbie doll❣️
i think eris is going Through It when feyre shows up. there is the initial like — holy shit, after so very long, after ingratiating himself with amarantha to keep attention off his family (which … i have Thoughts), after the spring court estate is herded utm like cattle, the human girl is here. they have a chance at freedom.
but i think this is very, very quickly overshadowed by what the fuck is lucien doing? he was safe; he was not in this hell. and now — and now his good-hearted, stupid, stupid brother is refusing to give up the human’s name. [“if we did, lady, we would be the first to tell you.” (this is how it works here lucien give up the fucking name what are you doing?)] and feyre, i think, is indeed very lucky for her human heart, because eris would have damned all of prythian in that moment if he watched his mother’s favorite son, his only brother who escaped their father, die on her behalf.
he is impressed by the first trial, but something very similar happens during the second trial. eris only thinks of her insofar as how he will kill her if she sees lucien dead. but he is paying so much attention in his fear for his brother’s life that i think he catches onto what’s going on between her and rhysand. i think he has heard all the derogatory things you can imagine about humans, and i think he goes . oh fuck. she’s not hesitating because it’s a riddle. she’s hesitating because she’s an idiot human and she can’t fucking read. and then she’s reaching, pulling back, reaching, pulling back, lucien is screaming, screaming, and she seems suddenly so certain in her choice. it could have been chance, but he does not ascribe to such beliefs. there is only one who could guide her hand in that moment, only one who has retained his abilities — and that’s rhysand.
and eris, who knows well what it is to wear a mask, has never been fooled by the persona of amarantha’s whore
so i don’t think he’s all that shocked by her suddenly being touted around as rhysand’s pet. in fact, it just confirms what he assumed without him having to test for it. (@buffy-vanserra has such a good hc about eris and the second trial if she wants 2 share<3) i don’t think he much cares how feyre is being treated, either. as long as she serves her purpose in freeing them, which rhysand seems to be ensuring even as he toys with her, it doesn’t matter to eris what her fate is. he cares only about his family, his court, and himself while trapped down there. once they are freed, he has so much going on in his own life that what is happening with tamlin, feyre, and rhysand only matters to him when it begins to impact his court

Has anyone wondered how the KoH got Amarantha's ring and the point in even resurrecting Jurian? Ya'know, the human general who hates fae, experienced a torturous death and then spent 500 years as jewellery where he was made to witness heinous things?
The dramatics of the ending chapters of acotar happens, Tamlin kills Amarantha, and now her body is just held up against a wall by her head being impaled by a sword with her throat also ripped out. Now, what happened to all her Hybern lackeys after within the same space UTM? Did the now freed Prythian citizen just go on a slaughter rampage to kill every Hybernian (sounds like a good name to call them)? Did one of Amarantha's lackeys try to recover her body and then couldn't, so for some reason just thought, "Fuck it, I'll take her ring instead and...keep it? No, I'll give it to the King. He's always liked rings, right?"
Did Tamlin collapse the entirety of UTM or just the entrance leading into it with his earthbending power? So, was Amarantha's body just left there? Her people were still in the lands; one of them could have snuck back UTM and reclaimed her entire body. The King could have resurrected her to test the Cauldron's might than throwing in a ring with a single eyeball.
I don't know. Suddenly I feel like I'm missing minor information in how things played out behind the scenes. I enjoy Jurian, but bringing him back was certainly a choice. Unless the KoH did have Amarantha's body recovered, was pissed that she failed to maintain the stronghold and then just chose Jurian to throw in the Cauldron to see what would happen. A little experiment, if you will.
This is such a random thing to suddenly focus on 😅

I have to preface this by saying that I really don’t care who gets the next book; this is more about me trying to get my thoughts out.
A lot of people are basing their expectations for the next ACOTAR book on HOFAS, and I feel like this is another situation where, despite being told how influential ACOTAR was going to be for HOFAS, it ended up being just Nesta and Azriel on a walking museum tour with Bryce under the Court of Nightmares. Someone who had never read ACOTAR wouldn’t have missed out much on who the ACOTAR characters were. I feel like the same mistake is being made by relying too much on HOFAS for Azriel and Gwyn to take the lead in the next book.
It’s not about a character being at their lowest to prompt the next main character; it’s about a character needing to exhaust all viable options in their current circumstances before they are presented with a change that will help them.
That’s basic storytelling when starting out a book. In the first chapter, there needs to be a hook—the “why,” the Call to Action.
In ACOTAR, it was Feyre killing the wolf; in ACOMAF, it was Feyre struggling post-UTM and finding comfort in the night sky; in ACOWAR, it was Hybern coming to the Spring Court; and in ACOSF, it was Nesta’s intervention.
Even HOFAS’s first chapter started with Lidia to preview her upcoming revolt later in the book.
There are theories that Elain will see Azriel pull away from her, become more drawn to Gwyn, and that they’ll end up being mates, which would then push Elain to focus on Lucien because Azriel is now soul-bound to someone else.
The problem I have with that theory is that Elain already has a mating bond that she’s avoiding, and seeing Azriel happy with his mate isn’t going to force her to finally face her own bond. She has Nesta’s ceremony coming up to do that for her.
Azriel needs to understand why the third sister was given to someone else. He needs to see why Lucien, the male who supposedly doesn’t deserve her and in whom she had no interest, ended up with her. Why Lucien’s patience was rewarded while his own was not. Azriel needs to realize that with every mating bond, it's only a matter of time before mates inevitably come together.
It doesn’t do Elain any good to be rejected twice by Azriel and then realize there’s no one left, so she defaults to Lucien. She’s already aware of that after being rejected twice by two people who aren’t her mates, realizing she can no longer afford to ignore her true mate.
If the BC was supposed to be a “test” or lesson from the Mother about the mating bond, Elain passed because she applied what she learned from Graysen to Azriel. Azriel failed because not only did he not have an answer for Rhys about Mor, he ignored it. The Mother graded him on a curve to pass by means of Gwyn.
Rhysand also gave a vital clue when he said that Lucien would defend his bond against Azriel and how important Lucien’s survival is to maintaining the fragile peace between Autumn, Spring, and the Human Lands.
Both Lucien and Elain are now at a point where their next chapters are coming into focus. Lucien’s assignment to be permanently stationed in Spring is technically over because Feyre gave birth, and his frustration with Jurian and Vassa constantly clashing is reaching a tipping point, especially with Vassa’s time running out. Lucien has also demonstrated inherent dominance, and Beron is becoming more audacious with his alliance with Hybern to take over the Spring Court from Tamlin, who is still dealing with grief and guilt.
Elain’s last distraction from the mating bond just told her it was a mistake and left. She doesn’t need salt rubbed into that wound by having him be right about calling it a mistake. But Azriel does need to understand, through Lucien, that it doesn’t matter if Elain showed disinterest in Lucien because, in the end, Elain is still Lucien’s mate. Mor’s lack of interest in Azriel isn’t why the mating bond between them hasn’t snapped.
Azriel is the one who misunderstands the mating bond, while Elain is the one avoiding it. Elain has no reason to avoid it anymore, but Azriel still has more to learn about the mating bond.
So, with that said, even with HOFAS, Elucien now has a much higher chance of providing a compelling hook in the first chapter compared to Gwynriel.
And that starts with Nessian’s ceremony because SJM gave an oddly specific timeframe for when that would happen at the end of ACOSF, in addition to Nesta placing Elain's rose marker on Papa Archie's grave.
That’s not to say Gwynriel can’t or doesn’t happen in the next book. I’m sure Azriel will experience a wave of emotions during a ceremony (especially since Feysand did theirs in secret) and might look over at Gwyn, sparking something more between them, or this could unfold after Bryce’s first, second, or third visit.
But Elain watching the sister who was most antagonistic toward the Fae embrace the most Fae aspect of herself, pulling herself out of her downward spiral with Cassian’s help, could have a profound impact on her. Realizing that Lucien would be staying in Velaris (possibly for two weeks, as Feyre suggested in FAS) to figure out the next steps with Tamlin and Beron, especially after Nesta’s interference, sets the stage for the next book.

How does all the Vanserra brothers feel about humans? Or humans that would cross over the wall into their territory?
LOVE this question
Sylas sees humans as nothing else than the weaker species. He feels no particular pull to protect them from their world the way some of the High Lords do, but he doesn't harbor a deep hatred towards them the way Beron does (though he does pretend otherwise in front of Beron). He does find the thought of a human overpowering a High Fae rather ridiculous, and had bet a rather ridiculous amount of gold marks against Feyre during her trials UtM.
Marcel -- to him, humans are vermin. He has as little interest in them as a bug he might accidentally step on. There was a time that he took a well-managed curiosity towards them, believing they might make for great, easily obtainable test subjects. He'd lock them up in his dungeon and test just how much of his smoke they could take. To his disappointment, the humans' limits proved to be rather pathetic, and, without exceptions, all of the humans he'd taken in over the years had died within days or weeks under imprisonment. Since then, Marcel hasn't paid any attention to them. Whenever humans cross over to the Autumn Court (I hc this as illegal under Beron's rule), he lets his other brothers handle the intruders, and doesn't even bother going out to kill them himself.
Vermilion finds the humans fascinating in a way a cat watching a mouse would. They're predictable, but so, so entertaining all the same. He doesn't mind entertaining them, either, for his own enjoyment if nothing else. He thinks it's fascinating -- the way they all fall for his every word, his every look, his every touch. In a way, he almost pities them. It's not that he finds them inherently weak the way Sylas does, or unworthy like Marcel, but in the end, they are simply... human, unburdened by immortal knowledge, power, existence. They're mice -- and Vermilion is graciously allowing them to live on. So long, of course, as they remain entertaining.
