How to Find My Purpose in Life?: A Practical Guide to Uncovering Your Calling
Feeling lost? We cut through the noise and offer actionable steps to help you explore your values, passions, and the impact you want to make, guiding you towards your unique purpose.
The Universal Longing: The Desire for Direction
One of the most common questions I hear is: How to find my purpose in life? It's a big one, and it can feel overwhelming if you're staring at a blank map. But finding your purpose isn't about discovering some pre-written destiny; it's about actively exploring and creating a path that resonates with your deepest self.
Step 1: Introspection - Tuning Inward to Your Values
The journey to finding your purpose often begins with looking inward. What truly matters to you? What are your core values? These are the principles that guide your decisions and give your life meaning. Take some time for honest self-reflection. What do you stand for? What makes you feel a sense of integrity? Understanding your values is a crucial first step in discovering your purpose.
Step 2: Exploration - Following Your Curiosity and Passions
What lights you up? What do you genuinely enjoy doing? Your passions can be powerful indicators of your purpose. They're the activities that make you lose track of time and feel truly engaged. Don't dismiss those hobbies or interests as mere distractions. They might hold clues to how to find meaning and direction in your life. Experiment, try new things, and pay attention to what sparks your curiosity.
Step 3: Impact - Considering How You Want to Contribute
Purpose often involves a sense of contribution, of making a difference in the world, however big or small. Think about the impact you want to have. What problems do you care about? How can your unique skills and talents be used to serve others or make the world a better place? This doesn't necessarily mean grand gestures; even small acts of kindness and contribution can be deeply purposeful. Consider how to live a life of purpose through your actions.
Step 4: Experimentation - Taking Small Steps and Learning
Finding your purpose isn't usually an overnight revelation. It's a process of experimentation. Try different things, volunteer, take a class, start a side project. Pay attention to what feels fulfilling and what doesn't. Don't be afraid to pivot or change direction. Each experience, even the ones that don't feel like a perfect fit, can offer valuable insights on how to find your calling.
Step 5: Patience and Self-Compassion - It's a Journey, Not a Race
Be patient with yourself. The search for purpose can take time, and there will be moments of uncertainty and doubt. Practice self-compassion and remember that it's a journey, not a race. There's no "right" timeline for finding your life's purpose. Keep exploring, keep reflecting, and trust the process.
Featured Quote:
"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

⟡ why manifestation is instant
law of assumption. assumption. an assumption is something you make without any proof or evidence. you believe it right away because there is nothing to contradict that assumption.
an assumption takes action immediately because of this. an assumption doesn't take time for you to believe it. you assume it's true immediately. this is why manifestation is not a process.
if this still doesn't make sense, literally google the definition of assumption.
if you assume you have what you want already, you have it.
make an assumption in imagination aka decide what you want and live in your imagination. you've heard it before, live in the end, god state blah blah blah. it's all the same recycled stuff because they all mean the same thing.
your imagination (4d) comes before 'reality' (3d). the same second you assume/decide you have it in the 4d, the 3d follows and will show. the 4d is above the 3d. you are your imagination. you come first, you decide first, you create. once you decide you have what you want, it's done.
however, when most of us hear this, it's not like we can suddenly just accept it and boom, create reality. that is not your fault, it's society's fault for pushing the opposite beliefs onto us. that we're just supposed to take the cards dealt to us.
this is where the basics of loa come in. of course, you can go straight to manifesting what you want, but it might be easier for you if you come to understand 2 things first.
1. you create reality
2. manifestation is not a process
this is called self concept. not only does it make manifesting easier, it makes life easier in general. every single time i've worked on my self concept, i feel better emotionally, mentally, physically. all because i know i create reality, so i have nothing to worry about.
get these down and you'll find manifesting to be easy and yes, instant. how do you get these down? affirming, treat them like your normal mindset.
you can even manifest what you want while learning these two things. "i have everything i want because i create reality." // "i have everything i want right now because manifestation is not a process."
manifesting is instant when you know your assumptions don't take time.

Danny is Bruce and Clark's Civilian friend
So! Danny met Bruce and Clark at a Charity Gala promoting his Clean Energy and Technology Company.
It was just something He, Tucker, and Sam had started up after High School to try and do some good in the world, but grew faster than they realized, until they were a rising star in the Green Energy and Technology Business. Really they should have expected it, with Sam's drive for environmental protection and Tucker's love of technology, it was a given that they would push the company farther than anticipated. Danny was mostly just the front-man (aside from helping out Tucker in the Lab sometimes).
The Gala was set up by Sam to raise money for environmental preservation efforts, and Danny was there as a formality since he was the Face of the Business and technically the CEO.
Danny had struck up a conversation with Bruce, having been introduced by Sam, and they were eventually approached by Clark for an interview. He wanted to get their thoughts on the recently proposed Meta Protection Acts, and after the interview Danny decided to give Clark his contact to see if he wanted to do a follow-up. Bruce did the same, and they agreed to talk in the future.
Danny hadn't expected that to be the start of a new friendship.
Bruce and Clark seemed to click instantly with him, and while it took longer they also seemed to warm up to eachother as well. It got to the point where they were talking outside of Galas or Interviews and just called to check up on eachother. It was nice, having friends outside of Tucker and Sam for once.
Oh and also they were totally Dating.
Yeah, it was kind of obvious in hindsight that his two friends had a thing for eachother. Bruce and Clark would always share these looks with eachother before leaving the room, or Clark would check his phone for a message from whenever Bruce texted someone. They seemed to be hanging out without him as well, since they sometimes slipped up and referenced events they experienced together that he wasn't there for.
Of course Clark was publicly dating Lois Lane from his workplace, but listening his coworkers gossip long enough told him what was really going on. Lois and Clark were fake-dating so that Lois could secretly date Superman without being targeted by his enemies as much, and Clark could date a secret partner that none of his coworkers could figure out.
So when he was talking to Clark one day and the man got a text message and suddenly had a bad stomach ache, Danny decided that he should probably let him know that he knew.
"Oh don't worry Clark, I know what's going on. No need to keep up appearance with me around." He said.
"O-oh? Uh, what are you talking about Danny?" Clark asked surprised.
Danny shrugged, "It was pretty obvious in hindsight. The sneaking off, the text messages that got you to leave in a hurry, the secret glances between you and Bruce. After a while it was hard to ignore."
Clark cringed a little, "I just have a nervous stomach, and I have to rush off for work pretty often. That's all Danny."
Danny leveled a glance at him, "So does Bruce also have an upset stomach that just so happens to match up to yours? And why is Bruce following you to your Job? What, is he trying to get a job at the Daily Planet that he owns?"
"O-oh, well- I mean- That doesn't necessarily mean that I'm-" Clark stuttered.
"Calm down man, I'm not going to say anything." Danny reassured him. "It's your business, and nobody has any right to know your personal business unless you tell them. I just figured it out on my own, but I'm not gonna go shouting from the rooftops that Clark Kent is-"
"That's enough Danny, no need to demonstrate, but...thank you." Clark cut him off, "So far only Lois and Jimmy have figured me out on their own, and it's nice to finally have somebody else to talk to about this."
Danny shrugged and patted him on the shoulder, "No problem Clark, if you ever need to talk to me about it I'm all ears."

Sometimes remembering what the world used to be like 10 years ago feels like remembering life before the zombie apocalypse. I do wonder if there will come a point that I totally forget what life was like, and the absolute certainty I had in the delusion that people are mostly good and that the progress in the world was basically inevitable. I didn't even realize how much I believed in the future until I didn't believe in it anymore.

do you think that when rook stumbles out of the fade prison and through the eluvian to safety, there's a moment of everyone standing around in joyous (and probably exhausted) disbelief, where lucanis meets their gaze and recognizes the look of tremulous, hesitant uncertainty in their eyes -- that tentativeness of someone who feels they stand on the threshold of madness and one wrong move can send them over, the terror of something finally breaking apart in your head in a way that can never come back together and be whole again; the helpless is this truly happening? is this real? are you really here? confusion that verges on pleading. (the last time they saw him, he was dead. the last time they lost someone, their mind fractured around it for weeks, months, to spare them the knowledge, and they couldn't tell. until they could, and by then it was all too late. how could you know it's not all happening again? how could you not fear that it might be?)
yeah, lucanis recognizes that look immediately and with an instinctive visceral wave of empathy. because it's how he's felt so many times looking at them. anyway. anyone ever think about isabela's comment that lucanis looks at rook like he's afraid they're a fever dream. me neither

On my ‘Steph was doomed as Robin both in and out of universe’ shit again. There was never going to be a world where she lasted as Robin. There was no set of actions she could’ve taken. She was brought on as Robin as a temporary measure to get Tim back, and literally everything about her time as Robin enforces that temporary-ness. There’s a reason she doesn’t get to know the Secret. Her time as Robin is just a big exercise in how long Bruce can ignore the massive cognitive dissonance of ‘Steph reminds me of my dead son who died as Robin which is why I had to fire her as Spoiler’ and ‘it’s really useful for Steph to be Robin, and it’s actually unsafe for her not to be’. If it wasn’t disobeying an order it would’ve been something else. Maybe the ‘Skills and talent’ excuse again. Maybe no excuse at all. The point is it wasn’t going to last because it was not meant to.

Defending Ending 2
Okay I've seen a lot of discourse around the "True Ending" of Clinical Trial and I just wanted to give my take on it. Spoilers under the cut
I know a lot of people didn't like Ending 2's light and happier tone and it being the True Ending and felt like it absolved Lee of any consequences and just put Angel in a dangerous shitty position, isolated with a murderer and argue that it goes against the whole point of the game… But I just really don't view it like that. To me, Ending 2 reinforces some of the game's central themes surrounding consent, neurodivergency and societal neglect.
While I do think Lee can be manipulative (ESPECIALLY in the Reject route) and consistently hides things from Angel, I do think the Accept route that leads into Ending 2/the True Ending is a product of Angel's own anatomy as much as Ending 1 is. While Angel chooses to forgive him initally for the shrine thing, they don't dismiss or downplay what he did either. While they do display some unhealthy thought patterns (the idea that they never thought someone would ever pay so much attention to them <- which is a belief absolutely fueled by self hatred) that could contribute to their forgiveness, they don't let that blind them from the inherent fucked upness of what Lee's done. This isn't a "Wow, you did nothing wrong. Let's date!" situation. It's a "You fucked up and you hurt me but I'm willing to give you another chance, if you change for the better" situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same thing with the revelation of the murder. Angel does not downplay how upset they are to appease him. Even when they acknowledge Lee killing Brandon probably prevented him from harming future victims as he's a repeated offender who likely wouldn't stop, Angel still acknowledge that Lee didn't know that when he killed him. Angel is consistently able to voice their grievances with him and call him out on the wrongness of his actions, which is why I feel pretty comfortable stating that Lee and Angel's relationship, no matter how fucked up, toxic or unhealthy, is not an abusive one because Angel is always able to voice their issues with him and he is more than willing to listen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The player, and by extension, Angel is also explicitly given the choice on whether or not to forgive him with both revelations (I especially like that Angel's given the choice to basically back out of the relationship, even after they accept the shrine thing, after the murder reveal), highlighting their agency. Yes, you can absolutely argue that Angel's decision to forgive Lee twice is likely influenced by their loneliness and need for connection and that does make their relationship a bit unhealthy (and interesting/hj) but again I don't think it's abusive.
I also want to point out that even if the Accept route, Angel gives Lee conditions. They don't just accept him willy-nilly. They want him to actually listen to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that Angel's ultimate decision to forgive Lee isn't just to date him, it's to give him another chance at becoming a better, more rounded person. A large part of the whole game is about how society (the education system and the medical system) tends to fail neurodivergent people, especially those most in need of help. Angel and Lee literally bond over their different experiences of neurodivergency (or implied neurodivergency on Lee's end) and how ultimately society failed both of them (with neither of them managing to succeed in ways they wanted because the system wasn't built for people like them).
There's also the prevalent mentions and implications of past punishments that we can observe through some of Lee's dialogue. He's canonically an ex Mormon, who was probably consistently punished (and abused) for any wrongdoing (some of which we can assume could come down to traits of his neurodivergency as it's not too uncommon for autistic children to get misunderstood and mistreated). Similarly, we know that Angel was put some level of physical abuse and mistreatment by their school in an attempt to "correct" their left handedness and even then it's implied that's only one example of them being abused by the education system.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both Lee and Angel know what it's like to be punished and hurt after displaying a 'weakness' or a mistake. They've both been hurt by the notion that punishment is necessary to improve a person, which is why I find the Accept route so powerful. I've seen a lot of people complain that Lee doesn't go to jail or face "tangible" consequences but the way I see it, prison would make him worse and remove any chance he has of healing. While fucked up, illegal and his fault, his actions are still partially a product of his upbringing and the lack of support and therapy for him. He specifically mentions that he never went to therapy so he could get his job. Lee is partially the product of an unaccomodating society as much as Angel is. (Also I could go on for hours about how his Mormon upbringing probably skewed his entire view on how relationships are supposed to function and probably made him think love has to be in the form of devotion)
The way I interpreted it. Angel wasn't coerced into staying with a dangerous, harmful person. Angel sees parts of themselves in Lee and is giving Lee a chance neither of them were ever given in a life. They're creating a new life together where mistakes and fuck ups aren't instantly met with punishment or harm. Yes, Lee fucked up horrendously, violating their trust and ignored their wishes but they're both willing to acknowledge that and work on it because maybe for once, one of them's allowed to fucked up without facing an abusive 'punishment' afterwards. Maybe for once, one of them's allowed to fuck up and be given room to grow and improve. And maybe for once, Angel gets to choose how they want their life to go.
No, most people probably wouldn't have made the same choices as Angel but its still their decision to make. Yes, it's likely influenced by their pre existing loneliness and trauma. Yes, Lee would have to put a lot of work in to change himself and that will take time and there's likely some unhealthy beliefs he'll always struggle with. Yes, Lee and Angel's relationship is far from conventional or completely healthy, but fuck man, I think they're giving eachother room to figure it out together and idk, there's something beautiful about that to me.
They're both very mentally ill but they're trying and there's something about that that I find oddly comforting. Most media with the yandere trope never really provide the option for the yandere character to actually try to reflect on their actions and maybe learn better ways to cope and honestly I was so sure that both endings would involve someone dying in some way because these types of stories don't tend to go well. Usually, after a certain point, a character's just framed as "too" far gone, "too" mentally ill, "too" fucked up and beyond saving and they usually die a tragic or poetic death (i.e like Ending 1). But Angel looks at Lee and his actions and decides fuck it and to say no to that. They make the choice to give Lee another chance any way after what he's done because they don't see him as irredeemable. I just really like the way they both get to live in the end and make a better life together and what that says about neurodivergent and mentally ill people.
