Some pixelart studies I made with Dastardos the nonbeloved (the one on the right is from a while ago) and here are some stuff I learned:

1) a 48x48 sprite is WAY more difficult than a 64x64 px, details and pose readability are something you’ll have to sacrifice

2) even if I prefer how the right one has the coloured outline, if you are drawing for a game you must remember that the characters need to stand out from the background and therefore the black outline helps much more (not obligatory but it helps)

3) don’t add that many details either way, these are sprites that need to move and it’s better to keep it simple, this applies to comics as well 👍
