this would explain the phone calls! seam tells us someone contacted jevil and told him something that transformed his worldview, turning it "darker, yet darker"--a quote from WD gaster's journals. something similar happened to spamton--over a phone call. if you consider the same thing may have happened to dess, that makes the first 3 bonus bosses. gerson is less solid, but he does describe himself as "crazy", and likely would have had the church code to the shelter--a place connected to the knight and to gaster.

at the end of ch4 in the weird route, instead of the phone messages from the usual weirdo controlling kris, they get a phone call that they voluntarily answer. we get a normal dialogue box in which a voice we don't know asks with thinly veiled threat whether kris is going to the festival the following day, saying that noelle said she was hoping to see kris there.

dess is the obvious answer for someone we don't know who has contact with noelle and is using it to push kris further down this path. but if she's the knight--as the other evidence suggests--why is this phone call different from the usual ones? maybe it's because she's the muscle, not the motormouth knight.
