Gira has many layers to their voice, even when speaking telepathically. Their voice is harsher when using verbal speech, where they often struggle to produce words. With the recent livestream on the Basically, Games! channel (Dr. Reflex hammering for one hour), I've taken upon myself to scour through some of the posted videos. Eventually, I came across the trailer for Classic Remastered.

And this frame appeared.

Obviously, I know who it is. It's Null. He's warning us to not play the game and my mind, forever cruel, unraveled this simple and little thought. On how Null is always, always so persistently trying to get you to not play the game under any circumstances. He tries every single method in order to do so to the point where he hijacks the game's trailer, even if it's momentarily.

However, this is not the first instance he does such a thing. In the description in the download page on Itch.io for Baldi's Basics Classic and Birthday Bash, Null makes his presence known after some lines of zalgo text, signaling that he's hijacking those pages as well. The content? Warning you about the game and encouraging you not to play it. Desperate, wanting you to listen and trust him to the point where he does it outside the game. And you want me to believe that this man hates The Player? Nonsense!

Every time I remember that he cared so goddamn much to the point where it ended up leading to his own demise, I want to rip my heart out. Imagine trying so hard, only to brutally fail in the end? Oh, Null. I'm so sorry.

Moriarty Console Churn Output - 06/05/2024

So I did the daily Murdle at just past midnight, and saw this on the Detective Dispatch. Let's check it out.

Here are my current findings, including my own web crawling. This may be considered a spoiler or even noncanonical, as some of this information is not out for public release yet, and some may never be.

I would also like to make it clear that the Moriarty Webchurn is NOT the same as the Moriarty Console, which looks like this:

First off, there are FOUR of these same pages. The current accessible one is iii.html, though keep the others in mind for now. All four pages look the same, but not all of them have the base html in.

As you can see from my still image, there are repeated images with random sequences of letters cut through some of them. Here are the repeated ones.

I know that these are all of the phrases, and that the intercut strings also do not matter, as I found the original code. This is not hosted on murdle.com/m/iii.html, however. This screencap I took was of murdle.com/m/moriarty.html. The name of all tabs when clicked into these webpages is MORIARTY, with zalgo text applied.

You may find it yourself, if you go into inspect element -> sources tab -> moriarty.html and just take a good old look.

You may also noticed that our handy highlighted phrase is missing from this list, but it is elsewhere in this selfsame document. The number 3 also has a bias in the random alphanumeric string, which is interesting to note, given that this was made to tie into Volume 3's release, and Moriarty's importance within Murdle Vol 3.

As for more html combing, it's really weird that this screencap was taken of murdle.com/mansion/m/o.html's code.

Look at the highlighted section, but also the rest of that line at large. The number skew as previously mentioned is missing, and there are a lot more potential characters at play here. It's weird that there are two near-exact copies of the same code, with such a minor difference that I don't think anyone would notice. That is such a weird detail, and I don't know if that will be important in the future.

Cast your mind back to June last year, the case of the Missing Murdles.

These two locations feature very heavily in Volume 3, so it's worth putting these back out for public viewing. As you can tell, TekTopia is very much Moriarty's project, being "An AI-planned city". Linking this with the repeated phrase "TEKTOPIA WILL COVER THE EARTH", we can see that Moriarty is out of control and needs stopping.

My aside about murdle.com/console was not irrelevant, either, as it's notable that the console is driven by human interaction and feedback.

In line 958 of console/ that you find in the same way as you'd find the other code snippets posted so far, we reveal this information. I have kept the formatting as intact as I can over tumblr formatting.

MORIARTY is an AI engine built to generate murder mysteries for https://murdle.com/. Recently, the AI has requested the mass-solving of "CRYPTICS" by human participants. TO SOLVE A CRYPTIC, turn its squares green. Tapping a square flips its colour and the colours of the squares it touches. No one knows the function of this task, but MORIARTY has requested it.

Depending on the number of cryptics you solve, you also get given a title! All I want to know is who out there is genuinely solving thousands upon thousands of cryptics on one single browser. You okay, hun?

Related - and note that this is non-canonical as it is unused code - I saw this! Fascinating stuff.

Given what I know about computer program self-propagation - from my knowledge of computer viruses - it seems as if Moriarty spreads like a worm, as it seems to only propagate if you click into its links, and as it's a mystery its sharing is encouraged - or, in the case of the in-universe explanation, forced. (Think ILOVEYOU or Mydoom). The reason I believe this is because of the phrases that repeat in the web churn, and that opening up any of the Moriarty links is the same as being delivered that payload. RIP to my computer in the murdleverse, I guess!

This is also backed up by the fact that every Moriarty Churn tab crashes, though that might be my browser settings (Error code: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION).

I'd love to know if the idea is to try and overload the tab's memory allocation to give the vibe of it being a computer virus-like deal, so please get in touch!

✨ || Theorycrafting

Moriarty has existed in the murdleverse for a decent amount of time, the earliest Wayback Machine link is April 7th, 2023. The code looks the same at first glance, and feels the same from a user perspective, so I am assuming that there have been no significant updates to the Moriarty Console code as of the time of this post. My understanding is that it is a TekCo produced AI charged with the creation of TekTopia, though its scope has long passed its original intent.

Given that this was released days after the Moriarty Console became public - assumedly ongoingly - implies also that Moriarty has a lot of human-driven data. This, interestingly enough, was also indicated by the suspect gallery update, as the original gallery pictures were stolen in-universe! Which is to say, even more data. (This also opens up a whole can of worms about "AI Art", but that's for another day)

Jaine had huffed and shaken her head a little before slipping on her helmet, Echo noticed. He tried to give her a reassuring smile, before remembering that he also donned his bucket. Idiot, he thought to himself. 

“Don’t worry, Jainey,” Wrecker laughed boisterously. “Won’t let that thing eat ya.”

Jaine’s comms mic picked up a hint of her scoff. “Sure, Wreck. Just keep your eyes on the prize, yeah?”

The group emerged from the cave in a tight formation, catching the attention of the bigger creature. It tilted its head curiously at the group. 

“Fascinating,” Tech breathed, his eyes never leaving the creature while his fingers danced away across the keyboard of his data pad. 

“They’re not attacking?” Echo noted. 

Hunter grunted. “Not yet, anyway.”

Weapons drawn, the squad slowly exited the cave, eyes on the pair of predators.

“I can’t believe they're just watching us,” Jaine whispered.

“It seems as though they might not be hostile,” Tech replied, voice low. “Perhaps we are not similar enough to-”

“Watch your step,” Hunter interrupted. “We’re coming up on a ledge over a ravine, real narrow.”

Everything seemed to happen at once. Hunter finished his warning, and one of the creatures let out an ear splitting cry, starling Jaine, as a large rock embedded in the dirt of the ledge caught her foot, twisting her ankle and sending her falling to the ground. 

Jaine cried out in pain and panic as she skidded towards the edge of the path, the rest of the squad attempting to catch her. She felt the path disappear from under her, yet she was not in free fall. Glancing up, she saw that her savior was a gnarled root emerging from the side of the cliff.

The squad- her squad - was in a frenzy nearly 20 feet above her.

“Jaine!” Crosshair called, panic creeping into his voice. “Just hold on!”

The boys’ voices were overlapping through the comms in her helmet and mixing with the strain in her arm and the height she knew she was moments away from falling, it all made her head spin.

The tail end of a rope slid down, falling not far from the root. She struggled to get her other arm up, but finally gripped the rope, hands and arms becoming sore. 

“We’re gonna pull you up now,” Crosshair promised. “Just keep holding on. We’ve got you.”

“Cross,” she rasped. “I- I can’t-”

“Yes, you can. Please, just hold on, Jaine.”

Her hand slipped a little as the others began to pull her up.

“Cross,” she whimpered. 

“Jaine-”

“I love you, Crosshair,” she whispered, gazing into the dark abyss of his visor as the rope slipped from her hand.

The shouts of her squad blared, mixing all together. It felt like eons that she fell into the ravine, time slowing to a crawl. She closed her eyes, eventually, trying to make peace. What if this was it? What if she was out of second chances? What if something she did along the way broke Mistress Rastee’s curse? What if… what if she never saw her squad again?

“I love you all,” she sobbed into the comms. 

Her body caught on several tree branches, snapping and crashing beneath her weight. The back of head caught on a particularly thick one, draining consciousness from her.

The squad was running, Hunter calling off directions now and again as they raced down hills and into the crevice.

Crosshair made it to the bottom of the ravine first, despite Tech and Echo usually being  faster than him. He looked up, barely able to see the point from which she’d fallen from the ground, but traced the line she would’ve fallen. At the same time as Hunter, he noticed the trail of broken branches, running ahead of the rest of the group, only to come to a river rushing to the south.

Five sets of eyes scanned the river, searching for any sign of their fallen medic.

“There!” Hunter shouts, pointing down stream. Washed up on the bank of the river, helmet knocked away, wild red hair matted to her head.

Crosshair gets to her first, repeating her name over and over as he starts to pull her from the water.

“Don’t!” Tech yells, catching up. “She likely has a spinal injury, we need-”

“She’s face down in the water; we can’t just leave her like this,” argued Crosshair.

“We need to keep her neck steady.”

Tech positioned his hands at her neck while the others helped turn her over and bring her further onto the shore.

“Her medpack. Hunter-”

“We’ll look downstream. Echo, Wrecker, with me.”

“I’ll need-” Tech stopped abruptly, removing one glove and placing it back at the side of her neck. 

“What?” Crosshair urged. “Tech, what do you need?”

Tech’s eyes fell to Jaine’s face, flipping his visor down.

It was unmistakable. The HUD confirmed what he’d already discovered, even if he so desperately wanted to ignore the facts, logic, and all reason.

“Tech?” his brother called again, but it sounded almost distant despite being right next to him.

He lifted his visor and looked into the panicked eyes of his twin. He hoped that Crosshair would understand, that he wouldn’t have to say the words aloud.

Hunter stopped, causing Echo and Wrecker to nearly bump into him.

“No,” Crosshair whispered, Tech’s unspoken statement sinking in. 

“Cross,” Hunter murmured, his heart dropping into his boots as he stepped towards him.

“No, no, no! Jaine, wake up,” he cried, shaking Jaine’s body just a little. “You’ve gotta wake up!”

“Crosshair,” Hunter repeated, placing his hand on Crosshair’s shoulder. 

“Nayc!” Crosshair shouted, pulling his shoulder from Hunter’s grasp, turning back to Jaine, cupping the side of her face gently. “Gedet'ye, cyare. Gar enteyor hoyir.” [No! Please, beloved. You must wake up.]

“Ara’vod,” Tech whispered. “Ni ceta. Val cuyir dar. [Twin, I’m sorry. She is gone.]

“Nu kyr'adyc,” Wrecker sniffled, barely holding his tears back. “Shi taab'echaaj'la.” [Not gone, merely marching away.”

Crosshair’s attempt at fighting back the tidal wave threatening to spill from his eyes began to fail. Looking at her, so still- it was unnerving. It didn’t seem real. It couldn’t be real.

He brushed the hair away from her eyes before leaning down to press his forehead to hers. “Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, balyc.” Sobs began to wrack his body, quiet as they were. [I love you, too.]

“I’ll make camp,” Wrecker murmured just loud enough for Hunter to hear, getting a small nod in response.

Echo tapped Hunter’s shoulder, tilting his head away from the rest.

“We’ll have to report in. I’ll comm in,” Hunter’s voice was quiet, but steady. “We need to get her back to Kamino.”

“Hunter,” Echo whispered.

“We’ll track down Sinya, try to get in contact with Cody and General Kenobi. They- they’ll want to know.”

“Hunter, stop,” he pleaded, lifting his helmet and setting it on the ground.

“Echo, I-” Hunter’s voice cracked. “I’ve never-”

“I know, brother,” he said, pulling Hunter to him in a tight hug.

Crosshair’s sobs began to subside. “The- the curse,” he whispered, his eyes meeting Tech’s.

“Cuir’ika,” Tech uttered, the long unused nickname falling from his lips with ease. 

“You record everything,” Crosshair pleaded. “You have to have everything Sinya told us.”

“I am not sure if-”

“Please, Tad’ika,” his voice broke again. “Please look.”

Tech stared at him for a moment, but nodded, standing and stepping away to search his records.

There are things out there in the world that are after us. Ever since THEY showed up, I've been interested in the strange and unusual. I've been keeping a couple of journals. One's a personal journal about my life, and the other's a secondary journal about my findings.

When that spindly fuck attacked, I used the opportunity to bug out with Dakota and Trinity, leaving the only person I could trust behind to fight the damn thing.

I can't say our whereabouts. Even though this contract hides us, I can't risk it.

Welcome to the Blog!

This is a sideblog created for art and fics for the Digimon/Pokemon Swap AU created by FireDragon1321 (that's me!). I decided to make a sideblog to make it easier to post about this mess of an AU since it got too big. This post contains all the info you need to get started.

What is the Digimon/Pokemon Swap AU?

Basically, Digimon is Pokemon and Pokemon is Digimon. Themes, characters, items, and even staff of the two franchises are switched thanks to a multi-dimensional reset. The AU has a project on Ao3 (project link here and artbook here), which will contain fic, art, and more. Basically everything posted here will eventually migrate there.

Wait, Didn't I See X Before?

Yes, you probably did. It was posted under the username @firedragon1321, which is my main account. I may accidentally post from that username- consider anything posted from there after this blog's creation official or canon to this AU. If it's not posted by that account or this sideblog- or links back to/mentions either source- it was reposted/stolen and I'd like to know about it.

Electric Soldier Porygon Disclaimer

The lore heavily revolves around Electric Soldier Porygon, a Pokemon episode banned in Japan for causing epileptic seizures. You can read about it here (there is a gif of the seizure-causing animation frozen on the first frame- do not click the gif).

If the mere concept of this episode makes you squeamish, then this is not the AU for you. I found the lore of this episode interesting to explore (in some cases, it was the only episode to contain the information I needed). However- due to the real-world tragedy connected to this episode- I understand that its mere inclusion may be upsetting to some people.

Out of respect for the victims, this AU will contain no flashing lights. Posts with bright colors or patterns that may trigger seizures will be tagged "seizure warning", though I will try and keep those to a minimum. Posts with Zalgo text will be tagged both "zalgo text" and "eyestrain", and I'll keep the "craziness level" as low as possible.

Leak Disclaimer

The lore will contain references to leaked material for Pokemon. Note that I will never include material from unreleased projects. The instant there's a trailer that showcases the information, it's fair game. Also, beta designs have already been mentioned as early as the fic's prologue. But all beta designs that are under three generations old are banned.

I also will not share the leaked material I do have, and I do not have nor want game builds. So please don't ask for or offer me things. These materials will be used for the unreality/meta parts of a fanfiction and nothing more.

Okay, Anything Else I Need to Know?

Monster entries will be tagged "swapdex". Character entries will be tagged "swapchara". Fanfics will be posted to Ao3 and here, where they will be given the tag "swapfic". General lore posts will be tagged "swaplore".

Spoilers will be given the "spoiler" tag, along with two variants depending on how serious they are. "light spoilers" will be revealed rather quickly. "heavy spoilers" refer to major twists and big chunks of lore. Block whatever tag combination works best for you.
