i LOVE how north of north constructed all of its characters. every single one of them feels so human and flawed in a way that defies easy categorization of good or bad. i love how they break stereotypes without making it seem like they're trying to break stereotypes--they're just writing good characters.

#i especially love how they portrayed ting's treatment of siaja - he treats her terribly but also he genuinely believes he loves her #also elisapee as the church minister and residential school survivor and the words of encouragement neevee needed but also extraordinarily #judgemental and mean? there is so much complexity there #also helen is such an interesting take on a white woman living in the arctic - she's very misguided and sometimes outright offensive but #also has a genuine love and care for the community - you can't easily categorize her and that's...hard!! and very interesting #fee watches north of north
