Hello, wild ones! I’m Mako, a druid and home witch (which is what I call my blend of green and kitchen witchcraft) and a follower of the Gaulish pantheon and culture. I’m French, I identify as agender (they/them) and I have a physical disability that severely impacts my walking. I frequently use crutches, as well as a wheelchair, I take strong painkillers and medical morphine to manage the chronic pain that comes with the territory and I’m bedridden several times a month. All of that has an impact on my practice and that’s why I’m well-versed in pain spells and rituals, as well as studying herbalism and beginning to work as a natural healer, because I know debilitating pain all too well.

I follow the traditions and knowledge of my country and the witches of my community. I have so much to learn still, and I want to share French witchcraft practices with the rest of the world and bring a piece of the world back into my practice. I hope you’ll follow along with me. I thought, to start things out, I’d fill a few questions from the Witchy Tag and tag a few of my favorite tumblr witches so you can get to know me and hopefully I can meet a few of you this way!

1. what kind of witch are you?

I am a home witch, mainly, which is what I call being both a green witch and a kitchen witch. In a way, I suppose I’m mostly a French witch, given that my craft and practice is heavily influenced by local tradition and knowledge.

But in my daily practice, I follow the Druidic Path and I’m working with the Gaulish way of life and beliefs.

2. how did you discover your path?

My grandmother was a botanist, so when I was little, she would take my sister and me on long hikes and show us all the plants, one by one, teaching us the latin names and their medical properties. I took to it instantly, but distanced myself when she passed away in a misguided attempt at healing. I grew up around women in my community who would brew herbal remedies, cook you a cream or a poultrice for your break outs or your sprained ankle, people who could take away the fire from a burn or long day in the sun just with a hovering of the hand. Little by little, I learned from them, learned the way of the French witches who work for the community and not for themselves. I admired them, still do, but never thought I could be one of them, as what I was being initiated in was much closer to herbalism and being a Druid than a witch. Then I found Annie’s youtube channel, THE GREEN WITCH, and I just watched and watched, without being able to stop. I felt such a connection with her videos and her path, so I did my research, and finally started seriously studying magic, for about a year, before I even dared calling myself a witch. I wanted to have the knowledge to back that up, you know? And two years after, here I am, with knowledge and some more confident, branching out from my Druidic path and adding witchcraft to my practice for a year now!

3. how long have you been practicing?

If you count the Druidic/herbalism stuff, for roughly half of my life, so like then years, but witchcraft proper, two years.

4. what path/tradition do you follow?

Druidic teachings and Gaulish tradition/deities & French witchcraft, mainly herbalism. I consider myself a healer and a Druid even before being a witch. I want to make a living out of healing people. I follow the tradition of rural France, somewhere between the communities of the Black Mountain, the land Corbières-Minervois and Burgundy.

5. are you solitary or do you have a coven?

Currently solitary but I hope to find and join a Druidic circle one day.

7. do/would you teach and practice witchcraft to your children?

I don’t want children, but on principle, yes, absolutely. I think it’s an essential part of teaching them about the world and giving them the tools to be self-sufficient and healers too.

8. do you have a patron/matron deity?

I don’t use the words patron and matron because they don’t represent or apply to my believes, but purely from their meaning, they would be Belisama, Epona and Brig (or Brigid, she has different names depending on the Celtic nation you’re a part of).

9. favorite pantheon?

Egyptian. All the way. But it’s more of a remnant of childhood than what my faith aligns with today.

10. favorite goddess?

Hard one. Either Epona or Damona from the Gaulish pantheon or 嫦娥.

11. favorite god?

Thot, the scribe from the Egyptian.

12 and 13 are skipped since I don’t believe in astrology.

15. thoughts on the afterlife?

I believe in reincarnation like all Gauls but I don’t believe in Heaven or an afterlife as in, a place you end up after your life.

17. are you out of the broom closet? if so, how do your friends/family feel about your path?

I hate that expression with a passion. I’m LGBTQ+, and I find it incredibly offensive. In regards to the question itself, my family and friends do know I practice witchcraft, and no one cares. My sister and friends are very supportive, they actively want my opinion or my help depending on the circumstances. My mom finds it interesting, but she’s more into me being a healer, since my grandmother was her mom. She helps a lot with the herbalism side, and teaches me things and we do our mixes together. Even my dad who’s not interested, drinks my herbal teas and doesn’t mind me putting talismans and protection charms all over our home, smudging and doing spells and rituals.

19. do you have an altar?

I do, yes. Not just one, in fact. I have a main one for spells and rituals and just, general practice. I have one for my Ancestors and deities. And I have a portable one that I use to mix my herbal teas and make my remedies, as well as do divination.

20. what’s a spell that you’ve done?

Lately? A money spell for my mom.

22. favorite pagan holiday that you celebrate?

I love Chandeleur, the French version of Imbolc. And because spring is my favorite season and the best time of the year for me mentally and physically, I also adore Beltane.

26. favorite witch websites?

Absolutely WITCH UNIVERSITY. I learned a lot of things there. Also Wildera, a fellow French pagan. And I follow a lot of witches and celtic pagans on tumblr and tiktok, learning a lot from them.

29. favorite season?

Spring and Winter, in equal parts.

30. favorite herb?

Lavender. Or maybe rosemary.

31. favorite gem?

Amethyst. And lapis-lazuli.

38. your grimoire.

The original question was about a book of shadow but I’m not a wiccan and I don’t use that term, so here’s my grimoire. I handmade it, from stitching the pages to crafting the cover, bookmark and decorations. I love it, I put so much intention and love into it.

39. your tarot deck(s) (or one you want).

The first picture is of my first tarot deck and still my favourite, the Dishonored deck. It’s the one I use the most, still.

The second is the Prism Tarot, which is the last deck I bought (now four decks in total) and has been a project I’ve followed since it was still being drawn, up to supporting the kickstarter and becoming good friends with the creator, Liz, as I started making my own tarot deck. I highly recommend it, it’s an amazing piece of a art and an amazing magickal tool.

The Royal Report– A Crown of Candy Ep 14 Encounter in the Ice Cream Temple

We All Scream

We return to the Ice Cream Temple after the absolute bombshell that the SPF engineered Jet’s death as a way to get the Candians to her lair and gear up for the fight that that revelation obviously triggered. We get a better idea of the battlefield with the amazing Rick Perry set--like even by his standards it’s amazing, fog is involved. The party is on a ledge on one side of the room and there are huge levitating Popsicles and ice cream cones between them and a massive tower of frozen desserts which has the chocolate egg stuck in it in a little alcove.

As the fight begins, the SPF quickly cycles through all her glamours before revealing her true form, a huge, blue/purple, many-faced, many-winged, angelic type being--but angel in the, “We’re saying ‘be not afraid’ not as a formality but because we know we look scary,” sense. And with a Nat 20 initiative she goes to cast something in a cone that would have hit everyone for 8d8 damage but Rina dispels it with a clutch 5th level Counterspell (rolling exactly the DC without even adding her mod), absolutely foiling Brennan. In celebration, she finally puts the crown on Amethar tossed to her a couple of eps back.

Cumulus does some crazy monk movement to jump all the way across to the alcove with the egg. Unfortunately, the SPF immediately uses a legendary action to hit him with with a Ray of Frost for 27 damage and then gets a lair action to skewer him with an icicle, fully dropping him to death saves. The one small mercy is that Cumulus falls towards the egg, not into the mist.

Liam takes some shots at the SPF, and learns that she has both a really high AC and some kind of Mirror Image spell going to take some of her hits. He also eats the Peppermint Heart Seed the SPF returned to them, hoping it will give him flight like it did to Preston (almost jumping off the ledge to test it) but Brennan rolls on the Wild Magic Table and it instead makes the entire party Invisible. 

Ruby (at Brennan’s mischievous suggestion) jumps off the edge so she’ll be in range to use Mage Hand, ties it to the end of the rope to the closest floating Popsicles (the orange one), and hangs on. In the distance, she can hear her aunts cheering for her. The SPF blasts her with some cold damage, insisting she just wants to take her somewhere safe but Ruby is having none of that.

Amethar throws some javelins which just gets rid of some of the illusions. The SPF does some more damage to Ruby.

Theo, student of Lazuli, realizes that the SPF is like a dragon sitting atop all this magical treasure but she’s not the source of the magic per se and they should be able to get the floating Popsicles to move at their command. He tells everyone and then holds his turn to see if Rina does anything crazy. Rina Thundersteps herself and Theo to the Popsicle Ruby is hanging onto and uses Winterscoop like an oar to try and move it (DC 10 Wis check w/ advantage--Brennan’s one small mercy). She gets it and yells to her guys to jump onto the other Popsicle (the red one) but they aren’t able to move it. With the rest of his held turn, Theo cast Protection From Evil and Good on Rina. 

The SPF tries to blast Rina’s group with another cone attack but Rina stops it cold (ha) with another Counterspell, viably breaking Brennan.

Cumulus fails a death save. Theo takes some cold damage which he lessens with Absorb Elements. Then the SPF casts a spell on Ruby, entering her mind and saying, “You came to me in the glade. Wherever you go, I go.” And she hears a scream from Jet as the SPF begins stitching her own shadow to Ruby. (Spooky, hate that!)

Liam jumps on the red Popsicle and attacks the SPF again, getting rid of the last of her protective illusion.

Ruby swings up to where Cumulus and the egg is. She the rope to Cumulus and pushes him off the edge (Zac’s Face: *Immediate Concern*) so they can pull him up and help him. She also does an Insight check on the egg and feels that the outside is cold but there’s a deep rumbling from within.    

Amethar jumps onto the red Popsicle and is finally able to move it. He gets closer to the SPF to throw some javelins and gets a hit this time but, unfortunately, as the SPF is hit, an identical wound dealing half damage appears on Ruby. Ruby yells this info to everyone else.

Theo again delays his action to wait for Rina to act. Rina Healing Word’s Cumulus both because he’s down and to boost her movement by ten (she gets that free 10 feet of Fly when she casts a spell) and she uses that movement to get within range of the egg and cast Bonfire (a cantrip) on the egg (Ruby insisting she could have done it without help). Brennan, womped thrice, needs a 12 or higher on 2d8 to damage the egg. Rina gets a 13 on the dice without having to even do any Sorcery shenanigans. 

The egg cracks, releasing hot steam, the smell of cinnamon and the most ADORABLE baby dragon that imprints on Rina immediately. Rina coos that she finally has a family.”

“That is mine,” the SPF says.

“Not anymore,” Rina replies. 

Ruby’s Big Day

Jon Bon nails the SPF with a throwing ax, doing half damage to Ruby again.

The SPF does a ton of damage to the red Popsicle peeps and Swifty and Gooey look ROUGH.

Cumulus (after determining that the SPF connection with Ruby will fade soon) jumps and grapples the SPF, doing a successful Stunning Strike, but the SPF uses a legendary resistance to come out of stun and then attacks him, paralyzing him and leaving him to fall.

Ruby tries to figure out if she can do something and Rina says if she trusts her and holds her action, she can do something to help. But it’s not necessary because, on his turn, Liam hits the SPF with a crossbow bolt (Ruby takes no damage as the connection has faded) and then moves the Popsicle under where Cumulus is going to land. The SPF hits Liam for 25 points of damage, taking him down to 9. 

Even though she doesn’t need it to save Cumulus anymore, Ruby still delays her turn to get movement help from Rina (reluctantly). Amethar catches Cumulus out of the air before he hits the Popsicle and then does almost 50 points of damage to the SPF with Payment Day now that he’s in melee range. 

Theo moves the orange Popsicle closer to where the action is happening, Misty Steps to the floating ice cream cone between his Popsicle and the other one, then tries to boomerang his sword to hit the SPF, but it doesn’t hit. 

Rina (slipping into a very Fig manner of speech for a second) asks Ruby, “You wanna go for a ride?” Ruby accepts and Rina (after telling Cinnamon--the newly christened dragon--to fly over to her when he has a chance) Thundersteps herself and Ruby over to the very crowded orange Popsicle with the SPF. She also casts Create Bonfire on the SPF which does double damage--24.

And Ruby decides to take her held turn.

She casts Green Flame Blade on Flickerish--Jet’s sword--and says, “For Jet, bitch.” 

Yak flies over to give her advantage (and make this as cinematic as possible).

Nat 20 bay-bee!

So she’s getting extra dice from Green Flame Blade, Rogue Sneak Attack, Flickerish’s Superiority Dice, and the Nat 20. Siobhan is rolling a DM number of dice here and you truly love to see it. 

Brennan, sensing that, writes a number on a folded piece of paper and hands it to her. The amount of HP the SPF has left. Then he has her roll in the Box of Doom. She lets those colorful dice fly and counts them up--while Brennan looks on with increasing consternation in the background.

Ruby lands graceful, balancing with her circus training, shadow of Jet being cast tall on the wall of the cavern.

“Can’t you come home with me?” asks the SPF.

“Why don’t you come home with me?”

Ruby thrusts the sword forward and the SPF (who Brennan says was literally just about to use her 9th level spell slot to cast Wish and restore all her HP) is no more. 

Cold Shoulder

Fight over, the mist begins to clear. They see the floor of the cavern is just magical items on magical items and Swifty is stoked as hell. The magic of this place goes from painfully freezing cold and sickly sweet to the good kind of crisp cold and welcoming availability.  

Ruby in her ear hears 4 voices:

“Proud of you, kid.”

“You make it look effortless. I am so proud.”

“Sweetheart, I don’t know where we’re going next. It was nice to be here, but we’re gonna go somewhere we don’t know, but we’re gonna go there together.”

“I was fourth in line and I didn’t know that we were all gonna say something. They didn’t tell me.”

“Look after her please,” Ruby says.

“I wouldn’t dream of doing anything else.”  

Then she feels the embrace of her shadow and it returns to its place.

(“I love you so much. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.”) 

Rina says to Ruby that she could have finished off the SPF herself but she wanted to let her have the killing blow because it clearly meant a lot to her. She doesn’t know if that will mean anything to her now and she feels that maybe she’s wasting her time continually trying to reach out to her but maybe, someday, it will get through to her. 

Rina’s guys escort her away and she can tell that Gooey has something on her mind. Rina gives her permission to speak freely and Gooey (with Swifty and Jon Bon chiming in) basically says, “Fuck the Candians. They treat you like shit. We’re your real family. You’re gonna be a dope ass queen.”

“You know, it’s funny. That’s the first time someone has called me queen and it hasn’t felt uncomfortable. It actually felt really good.”

Ruby takes another moment of silence for Jet. Theo says that it was always Jet’s dream to be fighting with and for the common people which is Rina’s whole thing. They should be rallying behind her. Ruby and Amethar never even wanted to rule--now he gets to be a warrior again like he wanted. Amethar shoots back with his perspective on the last 4 weeks: his daughter died, he died twice, he decided he was gonna finally man up and bam, it turns out he’s not even king anymore. So excuse him for not being the most gung ho person in the world.  

Theo says that he trusts that Amethar is on board but Rina doesn’t know him. From her POV, this is just unprovoked shunning.

“You have two living daughters.”

Ruby goes to talk to Rina and, on a Nat 20 Insight, sees that all her guys are fully ready to remorselessly kill her if given the order. Still, she presses on, laying out her cards: Her entire worldview has imploded in a matter of weeks. Her twin sister just died. She’s going through so much and now this too? She can’t accept Rina as both her sister and her queen. She has to pick one.

“I understand that you lost everything,” Rina says, “but I was born with nothing.” She says that she was actually very excited to meet Ruby and have a sister and finally not be alone anymore, tears cracking through her cold facade for a moment. But then she gathers herself. 

“If I must choose, then I choose to be your queen.” 

“Very well.”

Rina and her crew exit the Temple and start down the mountain. Everyone except for Liam follows them. Liam goes to check on the hoard and rolls a 24 Investigation check. At the base of the tower he sees an old lair with ancient chocolate eggshells. He knows this is the dark space from his dreams and he knows this was once a dragon lair. At the center of the nest (which is still somehow warm), there’s a little ember that glows brighter as he approaches. It grows red and bright, filling his vision, a hand reaches out, grabs his throat and pulls and we end the ep!   

Medal of Honor

Killing a god should be enough to get anyone this spot.

But killing a god with only a 7 point margin on a Nat 20 in order to avenger your sister’s death with her own sword a turn before said god was about to down a Full Restore?

Ooh, man. All hail Princess Ruby Rocks baby!

Things I’m Concerned About

OK, I mentioned last week I was worried about Rina doing a Cat's in the Cradle but I said I’d elaborate later and what I feared seems to be materializing so I’m going to talk about it now. Rina clearly had a certain vision of what she wanted this family reunion to look like and, for valid reasons, it’s not happening that way. They’re not really bonding. So what this ends up being is them relying on her in battle but brushing her off socially--at least that’s what it looks like from her POV. And like, she’s been around for like 2 days so it’s kind of unreasonable for her to expect them to be fully on board already but I see where she’s coming from. If I grew up as basically a Dickensian orphan and a princess told me a sob story (however valid) I wouldn’t be impressed. It would be a complicated situation even without a war happening in the background. On top of that, Rina is surrounded by Yes-Men which concerned me from the start when Gooey pulled her aside that first time. The last time we had the potential for serious party conflict in D20 (not counting Bloodkeep because I maintain that, despite the setup and Brennan’s best efforts, that was never going to happen) was the Kingston/Pete situation and that ended up fizzling out but idk man. That conversation Rina had about how it felt kinda nice to be called queen? That def set off some alarm bells in my head. I don’t know enough about GoT to know if this is a totally valid statement but when she got the dragon and then that convo happened I was like...hmm...how does Dany’s story end again?

Lol also, whatever the heck is going on with Liam and the dragon. Really this should be first but, I’m gonna be real, the Rina thing was so much that I fully forgot this was a thing that also happened. 

I’m concerned about whatever happens next ep that was so bad they’ve been talking about it for ages. Feeling pretty trepid about that my guys. 

We haven’t heard from Annabelle and Primsy in a while and that doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad but...hmm...

Five A Few More Things

Ah yes, the return of the, “Why can’t a butterscotch bird help me perform first aid?” argument. “Are you telling me a bird can’t save someone’s life?”

“Give me the child.” Brennan, I know I say this a lot but if anything happens to Cinnamon...a single thing...a solitary hitpoint...Brennan…

 There's a bit where Cumulus rolls like a 9 and Ally goes, “Can he get advantage from the egg?” And Siobhan makes a face like, “Fully what?” but then a second later is like, “That’s a great question,” totally straight-faced and it’s so funny.

I wonder if Rina’s peeps feel the way they do about the whole party? Because Theo is honestly (in Murph’s words) also one of her goons practically and Cumulus pledged the orders’ services to her. You’d think they’d get consideration. 

When Cinnamon gives Rina a Help action she goes, “I’ve never gotten  Help action before,” and I understand what she meant but also, lol, she gets Help actions like every turn from her guys.

“Don’t come after my distant cousin!”

Very happy that if combat is happening in our story eps we’re getting some story in our combat eps. Getting a significant chunk of immediate aftermath is very cool and something I often wished for in the other main seasons.

FYI: Celestial is Liam’s Greater Favored Enemy. 

Brennan really does love to undercut the tenseness of the situations of his dark world by reminding us all that it’s also deeply stupid and made of candy and I think that’s great.

The Creation of the Angels

How a creator angel finds the core of the thirteen new angels it must bring to life. △ 1482 words | oneshot | Sebongie Appreciation Day

warning: this is heavily unedited. 3 years with my baby angels, whom i have cried and laughed with every step of the way--so my 300th post dedicated to them. i wanted to write something to show what i love most about each of them, so here we are. the creation order is from youngest to oldest! HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY, SEVENTEEN <333

When the angel was tasked with creating thirteen new angels, it knew it must be its best work yet. The angel cleared its shop, giving itself a blank canvas and looking around carefully.

Its sky-grey eyes landed on the fragment of a star, carefully tucked into a clear crystal container. The angel had kept it for a millenia now, but the urge to create the first of the new angels had the angel approaching the case now, carefully retrieving the star. It shone bright, and the angel smiled softly.

This would be the core of the new angel. And so, the angel began its long work, carefully crafting a new masterpiece from their workshop--the ability to smile through the tough times, to remind kind and persevering. This new angel would be the last the creator angel would bring to life, but one that would serve to remind all other twelve to keep each other close together.

The angel spent days on the first angel, carefully setting it aside and continuing its work. On a new day, the angel was out exploring when it came upon a seed of a rare tree--it did not know its name or its origin, but knew it must be special, as a small leave was already sprouting, even in unlikely circumstances. This would be the heart of the second creation. With its core, the angel knew this new creation would be one of a kind, one that would work against all odds to shine amongst the rubble.

The core of the third angel would come from the sea--the angel thought that the new angels would new someone to remind them how fun life could be, just like the sea reminded the humans they watched over that there was always more to life. The new creation would be as gentle as the tiny fish in the sea, but as powerful as the raging waves that crashed onto shore.

For the fourth angel, the creator angel took a long time searching. It stopped working because it did not know where to even begin its search. So far, all of the angels would be strong and larger than life--the angel thought they would need someone more gentle, that would still be able to hold the same kind of fire. It took a long time to find this angel’s core, but it came in the form of a rainbow right over the sea where the angel had found the third’s core. For this new angel, the fragment of the rainbow would represent the fight of life shining through the rain, of just how beautiful and multifaceted a being could be.

It was around the time, when the creator angel was tucking away the fourth angel for safekeeping, that it realized the new angels would need someone who could fill in any gaps the angel might have missed--and so, the creator angel went on a trip once again, searching for the fifth angel’s core. For this one, the angel got creative and mixed more than one element for the core--some clouds, to keep the angel soft, a bit of forest, for the willpower the new angel would own, and just a bit of lava, to always keep the angel running alongside the others.

Along the way, the angel picked up sunflowers, to make the core of the sixth angel. It would be as gentle as the petals of the core it would carry, but as bright as the flower that only faced the sun. It would be a forced of vitality amongst the other angels, keeping them bright.

The seventh angel took a lot of planning out, because the creator angel had known all along how intricate it would need to be. It would demand the awe and respect of the other angels, but it would be humble, even when their core would demand the attention of everyone. The angel sought out a favor from its favorite archangel, and was rewarded with a string from the archangels harp--it would be unbreakable and gentle all at once, capable of holding out strong for the others to follow its lead.

For the eighth angel, the creator was once again stumped. It knew it did not have everything it needed to have for the thirteen angels, so the creator spent hours in its shop, studying the eight angels it had thus far made and taking into account what it would need. It took many nights of simply sitting there, watching over its new angels that it realized what they would need--a mind to help them along their long journeys.

And so, the angel sought out a gemstone from its own collection, an elixir the angel had created long ago to be a possible core but it had forgotten about until now. This core was a muted lapis lazuli blue, the edges seemingly sharp but smoothed at every turn, keeping the gem light and easy to handle. The gem would bring the new angel a mind unlike any other, offering an endless well of knowledge for the other angels. It would make the new angel shine to demand attention, but be soft enough to remind any that crossed his path that he was still an angel at the end of the day.

The angel that followed was given the core of a shooting star the creator angel had followed across a handful of nights, making sure to grab a part just when it was shining its brightest. as well as how he feels like he can talk to her about anything • While Dipper isn’t really happy with her choice, he decides to accept it; end this part of the two of them just sitting together, with some introspection for Lapis as she starts to rethink this choice, mostly because of Dipper more than anything else (also hint towards her real reason for coming back in the first place, which will be addressed soon, as well as her realizing that perhaps its time she was actually honest with him about it) • The next day, Steven and Mabel, overwhelmed with curiosity, are resolved to know where Dipper’s been going the past week; they finally confront him on it but he still refuses to tell them, frustrating Mabel to the point that she refuses to let him go until he tells them • Of course he easily evades them and makes it out, but the pair decide to give chase, so give this part a little action as they peruse Dipper up to the temple; he gets to Lion first and, without explaining anything, rides him off, leaving Steven and Mabel in the dust, much to their shared disappointment • When Dipper arrives to see Lapis this time, he instantly notices her clear melancholy and anxiety, and when he asks her about it, she hesitantly begins telling him why she’s really on Earth again to begin with (keep this part in Lapis’ narration as she presents what happened through the water (like in Same Old World)Side note: Look to the end of the Message for this part • Upon her arrival on Homeworld, Lapis was instantly captured because of it being suspicious that a rare Gem like her would suddenly come there from Earth, of all places; she mentions that she was interrogated by none other than Peridot, who somehow knew who Steven, Dipper, and Mabel are, much to Lapis’ alarm • Upon giving as much information as she was willing to, Lapis was detained, but not before overhearing that she was to accompany Peridot and her escort to a mission to Earth itself • While locked in her cell, Lapis begins to lose hope, until she starts befriending a human, who somehow also got detained on Homeworld (have Lapis not mention this human by name, but do have her state that he reminded her a lot of Dipper, just to foreshadow); the two began to plan their escape from Homeworld togetherSide note: Include hints in here about both Lapis’ time spent in the mirror (how she ended up in there) as well as how she escaped from Homeworld (with Ford’s help, but don’t imply too much)  • However, everything went wrong when the time came to execute it, and when Lapis was forced to chose between her new human friend and escaping alone, she chose to escape by herself, leaving the human to an unknown fate (show that she feels guilty about this) • As she completes her tale, Lapis finally reveals the whole truth: Peridot is coming to Earth, most likely not alone, for the sake of getting rid of the kids and the Crystal Gems once and for all • Of course, Dipper is shocked by all this, but he asserts that they should go tell the Gems so they can prepare themselves for their arrival; Lapis is adamantly against this idea and instead suggests that her and Dipper run off to someplace safe before they get there (imply that she innocently might want to take him off planet) • Dipper easily refutes this plan, much to Lapis’ confusion, claiming that they can’t just abandon everyone else out of fear of what might happen and that they have to face this danger head on instead of running away from it • While things don’t escalate into an argument, Lapis initially refuses to do so, claiming that doing so would be foolish and dangerous; Dipper counters however by saying that its worth it to protect what’s important • This line of thinking is what inspires Lapis, especially as she realizes that Dipper is what’s important to her, to join him in warning the Gems about what’s to come • Cut back to Steven and Mabel, discouraged and distressed about Dipper, until he happens to return, much to their relief; however, he soon reveals he’s not alone as Lapis comes in behind him (quite hesitantly) Side note: Give Mabel a funny somewhat foreshadow line in here about how everyone seems to be keeping secrets anymore (lead in with Lion)  • Of course, Steven and Mabel are both surprised, overjoyed, and confused to see Lapis again (have them realize that she was why Dipper kept disappearing over the past week); while this should be a bit lighthearted, don’t make the levity in this reunion last too long • After some worry from Lapis, they all go up to talk to the Gems, so include the scene of Lapis telling them about Peridot’s upcoming arrival, giving them all the information she knows about it (include a good bit of tension in here between them and her); but in the end, make sure that Garnet does give her a genuine thank you (in the midst of Pearl and Amethyst freaking out over this news) • Have the Gems resolve that they’ll begin planning out what they’re going to do to counteract this incoming threat (even if they have really no idea what they’re going to do, make their stress and dread palpable) • Not really wanting to be around the Crystal Gems, Lapis agrees to stay at the shack for the night (so include • Have the final scene be Lapis sitting on the roof later that night, awash with worry over what’s to come; after a while, Dipper joins her and they talk it over, both of them professing that they are afraid of what’s about to happen, but that they’re going to face it reguardless, no matter what happens • End the chapter on this resolve (particularly the beginning of Lapis’ resolve to protect Dipper, seeing as how he really shouldn’t be a part of this but she dragged him into it), make it momentous and a good lead in into the next chapter)Side note: Foreshadow Malachite with this ending

Glitch Chapter 2

(I’m getting these done fast because I have a spare period where I can write this on my phone)

Aquamarine's tiny water wings fluttered rapidly as Lapis watched her grab a bright red frisbee off of the Barn roof. Steven had provided them all with things they could play with and enjoy. Aquamarine had a frisbee she and Topaz threw around to catch, Peridot had some strange multicolored cube that Steven told her to 'solve' and Lapis had a ball made to be squeezed.

It had been a few months since the bluenette had chosen to shapeshift organs, they felt odd but funny when she flew, her heartbeat fascinated her, and having a stomach felt odd. Lapis would never admit to the fact that she had shapeshifted most of those organs to drink juice boxes. She believed it was her decision that had made Peridot so determined to have her own little heart, which beat quickly and could be felt in her wrists and neck (although she wouldn't let Lapis touch her neck, not after making the blonde cry from laughing due to being so ticklish), it was cute.

Peridot was cute.

"Uh, hello? Lapis!" Aquamarine snapped her finger. Lapis looked down at her, smile gone and eyebrow raised. "You're supposed to be getting ready, don't you remember?! Our little competition? I swear, all you terraformers got so lazy after-" She closed her mouth, it was true the small Gem was working on getting out of her mindset about what Homeworld thought of Gems, but she had also realized that Lapis had no tolerance for being insulted, and could be very quick to anger. "I'm... Sorry."

Lapis just nodded, remembering the other lapis lazulis she had seen on Homeworld in her brief time there before getting shoved into an interrogation cell. They sat or laid on the tops of buildings, no colonies to terraform, no jobs to do, no orders. They wasted away listlessly and did nothing all day while Blue Diamond mourned endlessly. Once good Gems, her sisters, useful and prided upon were nothing more than pretty things to look at and think 'oh what a shame, such lovely Gems have gone to waste!'

She hated Homeworld and everything it stood for. The Ocean Gem walked over to where Peridot was tinkering with a broken TV. A few days ago Lapis and Aquamarine had decided to have a friendly competition between them: Who made a better team? Aquapaz or Lapidot? (Oh her cheeks warmed at that word, their names fused together like that)

"Hi Lapis!" Peridot spoke up from where she was seated, scraps of metal floated around her as she gently removed wires from the device. "Is Topaz back yet? I'm almost ready to start building things with you!" There was a wonderful little smile on her face, a welcome change from her tears last night. Lapis knew the shorter of the two loved building and making things, and this has been her idea in order to stop Aquamarine and Lapis from trying to fly so fast as to create a sonic boom.

There was a soft swishing sound in the distance, Aquamarine must have flown away to go and find Topaz. "Uh... There she goes. Guess we have a head-start right Peri?" She looked at her companion, who nodded and handed her a bottle with clear liquid inside, the label read: 'glue'. "What's this stuff again?"

"An adhesive substance used to make sure two or more objects stay together. You can start on our Meep-morp if you want, I need to rest a little bit." She explained, and sat in the grass watching the pieces of scrap metal float gently around her as if she were a sun and they were simply little planets hoping to be given life from her warmth and light.

Apparently Lapis read too many romance novels, whatever.

With Topaz and Aquamarine still gone she got to work, attaching small bits of colored glasses to strings, and then to wood. She smiled, this was soothing and just... Something she loved. Red, orange, no yellow, lots of green and blue, and purple on the string that she was working with now. Lapis snickered to herself, she had the feeling Pearl would like the purple string. Her grin/smirk faded though, as she didn't have the piece of wood to attach her finished piece to. "Hey Peridot? You see the wood pile near you? Can you get me one of the small pieces, please?"

Without a word, the green Gem stood and turned around, there was the sound of her footsteps in the grass for only a second before dead silence, maybe she saw a butterfly or something, Peridot likes them a lot. Something about... Changing. Lapis couldn't remember. There were a few soft thumps, the metal Peridot held with her powers must have been dropped the ground, the Ocean Gem turned to look at her.

"Peri?" She asked softly. Her best friend was twitching and holding her head in her hands, her back turned to Lapis. "Peridot...?"

A deep growl sounded from Peridot's throat, a sound Lapis had never heard her make before. The technician turned around and Lapis' heart squirmed as her eyes widened.

Peridot's eyes glowed a brilliant green, her pupils along with the whites of her eyes no longer visible. Her lips curled back into a snarl, her sharp teeth, no... Fangs visible as she snarled at her.

"P-peridot?!" Lapis called her name, and the younger one leaped forward and grabbed a piece of wood with her teeth, clawing at it as she bit down and snapped it in half. "Peridot stop it! This isn't like you at all!"

Peridot lunged at the pillow she had brought outside and ripped at open, spraying feathers everywhere. Lapis backed away in fear as the crazed Gem growled and screeched with rage, slicing cloth with her nails and ripping anything that got in her way to pieces.

Pumpkin hid behind the blue Gem, whimpering in fear. Peridot screamed and howled as she scratched up all the wood the two had gathered before... Falling back to sit on her butt with a thump.

The tiny Gem clutched her head, and groaned softly. "Ow... My head... Lapis? What happened to all our things?" She asked, and the bluenette stared at her. How could she do that and then act like she didn't remember? They had worked for days to gather all the wood, and in not even 5 minutes Peridot had all but made it into splinters!

"What do you mean 'what happened'?! Peridot you did this!" Lapis was in full disbelief, how could Peridot do something like that and then act like she had no clue what was going on?! Why would she do something like this? "Did I say something that upset you? Is that what this is about? If you didn't want to get anything for me and keep resting you could've just said so."

Upon seeing Lapis' frown shook her head. "No, you didn't make me mad, I swear! I just... It... It felt... I mean I saw something-" She was cut off seeing Pumpkin, who was huddled near Lapis' feet and shaking. The green Gem's breath hitched. "Did... Did I hurt you Pumpkin?"

The sentient veggie slowly made her way over to Peridot, the blonde now on her knees as she held her arms out. "I'm sorry if I did something and scared you, I don't know what happened but... I promise I won't do it again." She hugged Pumpkin as she got close, Lapis soon joining her.

The blue Gem was upset yes, but Peridot did seem sorry. Maybe she had been doing that for a joke, or was just too stressed out and throwing a tantrum. The blonde's eyes had an odd far away look, what had she been talking about earlier with 'saw something'?

"Hey uh, Peri? Maybe you... M-maybe you need some real rest. C-c'mon." She took her companions hand and led her into the Barn. Peridot was complaining of a nasty headache, and apparently felt dizzy, so the Ocean Gem picked her up and laid her in the hammock. She had destroyed the pillow she used as a bed.

"Lapis... I don't know what I did, but whatever happened, I'm sorry." She said softly. The bluenette nodded and began to gently rock the hammock to lull the little Gem to sleep.

"It'll be okay Peridot, we all do things we regret. Remember when I took Amethyst's dare to eat 6 hot dogs?"

The blonde gave a soft chuckle. "Your stomach was so upset. You laid in my lap for two days." She said with a smile and yawned. After a few minutes of being rocked slowly and gently Peridot drifted off to sleep.

Pumpkin laid under the hammock, the orange creature was protective over them, and it was obvious that Peridot was upset from that. Lapis still had no idea why she'd acted like that, but she supposed since Peridot promised it wouldn't happen again, it wouldn't.

She took off through the air, flying quickly towards the city, towards the docks. The sun was sinking low in the sky, casting everything in an orange fiery glow, Lapis liked sunrise much better. She landed near the docks and walked down to the edge, there were plenty of birds flying around, with Aquamarine chasing them. If there were any creatures the tiny Gem liked it was birds, Lapis liked them too though, especially their little eggs and wings.

The ex-terraformer sat down on the edge of the dock, her bare feet dangling over the edge as the water swished around, the gem on her back sending a thrill up her spine when she lifted a single finger and a little drop floated up, then back down with a plop. Topaz was seated beside her, watching the birds. The large fusion had definitely chosen to stay fused, and was happy with herself. She liked Earth, and was more than excited for a change of pace from Homeworld.

“Hey Topaz...”

Lapis sighed, and the taller one beside her glanced at her, a bit concerned. “Lapis? Is everything okay?” She asked, and the smaller Gem took a deep shuddering breath… Those brilliant green eyes glowing eerily, just how vicious Peridot had been, those snarls Lapis had never heard before, and she had never realized just how sharp Peridot's teeth were…

“Yeah it's...” She started to lie, but she couldn't do that. Not to her friend (friends? Hard to tell with a fusion). Why bother lying anyway? They'd see the destruction when they got to the Barn after all, and if Lapis cleaned up the mess they would still notice Peridot sleeping in the hammock instead of her feather-filled pillow. She shook her head. “Not really. It’s Peri. We were just working and she just… Went nuts.” She managed to force out, she didn't want to try thinking about any reason Peridot could have snapped on her.

The bluenette looked down at her hands, then to the water. She hoped Peridot was still sleeping, she really hoped she was nice and fast asleep in that hammock having sweet dreams instead of the nightmare she'd had last night. Lapis didn't want to have to talk about her best friend this way, as if she were some kind of animal. “She growled at me, scratched up the wood we gathered, and now she’s acting like she doesn’t know what happened!”

She tried so hard to not be angry with the little Gem, but she couldn't help it. Emotions were a hard thing to master, and hers had just been exercised a little too much, calm happiness, then panic, the complete and utter terror, and then… Anger. Lapis didn't like being angry, and she certainly didn't want to take it out on Peridot. Even if having all their hard work destroyed was frustrating, she had learned that letting her anger bubble up and boil over to hurt others wasn't okay.

If they ever fixed Jasper, Lapis vowed to be the first person to make that huge quartz laugh, or at the very least smile. She deserved it, even if she was a bit terrifying for a non-combatant Gem to be around.

Lapis watched Topaz's bright eyes widen, she knew exactly what the large fusion was thinking. 'Peridot is too sweet to do something like this.'

“Did you say something to her before it happened?” Topaz was smart, always trying to see things from other peoples point of view, but Lapis shook her head again.

“No, I mean, I asked her to get the wood from the pile. And she started twitching before she went off on me. You should have seen it, she was like an animal!” Her deep blue eyes were wide at the horrifying memories. Topaz started to pat her shoulder with a large hand very gently, trying to calm her down.

“Maybe she’s just stressed out. Steven said she’s been 100% good since the 'Cluster'… Whatever that is. She’ll be okay Lapis, she’s tough. Maybe she just needs rest, and she’ll be okay tomorrow.” Lapis smiled ever so slightly, and nodded in an attempt for optimism. Maybe the green nerd was just stressed, she had a horrible tendency to want to help others so much she would often risk burning herself out or just straight up ignoring her own needs. Lapis had caught her crying once, the reason? She just wanted a hug, and to hear that someone cared about her.

Peridot just wanted to know that to someone, she was special. She had never told Lapis what things she had seen on Homeworld, and Lapis never pried for info. Sometimes memories were just too painful to remember, but the pain they caused was still there.

“Yeah.” Lapis murmured softly as the sun fully set, leaving the Ocean Gem completely in the dark. “Peridot will be okay.”

A Beginner’s Guide To Crystals For Every Part Of Your Life

’ve officially jumped on the crystal train, and for very good reason. The more I’ve learned about their power and how to work with them, the more I notice what a big difference they can truly make.

Now, you can’t just get crystals (aka stones) and expect them to work like magic. You have to tend to your crystals. You have to cleanse them, charge them, and work with them to set your intention and what you want to manifest from them. You’ll find that some crystals have multiple uses, so be sure to choose a crystal that has properties based on what your intention is. Essentially, choose crystals that have the right properties for what you are seeking or trying to manifest.

To cleanse your crystals: You can run the crystal through palo santo or sage smoke. You can leave your crystals out under a full moon. You can pass the stone through a candle flame, being careful not to scorch it. When you do this, you can visualize all the energies from the stone becoming white healing light. There are many ways to cleanse a stone. My personal favourite is through palo santo smoke, but find the method that works best for you.

To charge your crystals: To charge a stone, you’re basically programming it and infusing it with a single intention. You’re visualising what you want from the stone. There are a number of ways to charge a crystal, but one way is to hold it in your non-dominant hand and imagine a white light surrounding you and the stone. Then, inspire the stone with your desired intention and ask for its help and guidance. Work with this stone often to achieve your desired result. There are also many ways to charge your crystal, so find what feels right for you.

But remember, there is a HUGE difference between cleansing and charging your crystals. Cleansing means removing the crystal of any excess energy it may have absorbed and clearing any energetic impurities. Charging means programming your crystal and telling it what your intentions are and what you seek from it.

Here are some of my favourite crystals for various areas of life:

Love

Rose Quartz: The number one stone for unconditional love. Rose Quartz is known as the stone of love. It opens our heart to love, peace, forgiveness, compassion, and harmony. It can heal a wounded heart and opens the heart to all kinds of love, including teaching us to love ourselves and restoring self-confidence.

Rhodonite: Carries a powerful healing vibration that helps with relationship problems. Promotes emotional healing, forgiveness, compassion, and helps release fear. It teaches you to work with your heart, balances emotions, and soothes the soul. A calming, loving, and healing stone that decreases hasty decision-making while increasing self-esteem and confidence.

Garnet: Promotes love and sparks adoration and devotion from the root of our being. Helps to manifest what you truly want. A fiery stone that speeds up recovery processes, and is a symbol of courage, passion, and energy.

Sardonyx: Brings lasting happiness and stability into a marriage. Enhances partnerships by promoting integrity and virtuous behaviour.

Sodalite: Helps us say the right thing at the right time to support our partner. Perfect for communication and self-expression. Facilitates rational discussion and the confidence to talk through things.

Moonstone: Brings new energy and aids in the acceptance of the highs and lows that are felt in a relationship. Enhances feminine energy and fertility. It helps calm responses and stress and aids in avoiding overreaction.

Anxiety, Stress, And Depression

Labradorite: Protects you from irrational fears and helps ease worries. Deflects unwanted energies that can drain you by creating a negativity shield. Helps stimulate your intuition and increase confidence. It connects you with the energy of light and clears and opens all of your chakras.

Lepidolite: One of the most effective crystals for anxiety, lepidolite creates a sense of peace and serenity. It naturally contains lithium, which is often used in anti-anxiety medication. A great stone for transformation and assisting with making positive life changes. It relieves worry and overwhelm and balances emotions.
