I really like the idea that as they get older, Blue realizes that he isn't the most uhh seemingly friendly person lmfao

like ofc, he's a hero of Hyrule and he's respected by the kingdom. but, as little as it may be, there's whispers around the castle (maybe among the castle staff or the knights) about Blue's callousness. it wouldn't be so bad if those comments weren't also in comparison to his counterparts. Green's growing up to be a great leader, Vio is unshakable on the battlefield, Red has the benevolence to uplift anyone in Hyrule—Blue? oh well, he's a great fighter, but he's reckless. short tempered. be careful around him, he might snap at any point.

those comments eat away at him. he doesn't want to be known as the "angry" or "troubled" one, but he struggles bad with how to control his emotions.

so Blue chooses to distance himself from everyone. if he can't control it, he can at least keep people from seeing it.

his closest friends/family (Zelda, dad, the other Links) notice his sudden change in demeanor first. however, when they come to him with concerns, Blue vehemently denies anything is wrong. then, the whisperers around the castle take note too. Blue's been quieter lately. maybe he's finally maturing. thank goodness his temper problems was just a phase. hearing those comments makes Blue feel better—at least he thinks it does—so he continues to keep to himself whenever possible.

then it's Vio, of all people, who finds himself the one most affected by this "new" Blue. honestly, the peace was nice at first. but now? as reluctant as Vio was to admit it to himself, he is a bit more... lonely without Blue.

ok maybe a lot more lonely

and maybe a bit hurt too

he's had enough. he's going to get Blue to open up whether he wanted to or not.

Vio corners Blue, and what starts off as a gentle "tell me what's wrong, I know there's something. let me be there for you." evolves into an exasperation as Blue refuses to yield (wow lol)

Dark energon is very clearly supposed to be a drug, it just also so happens to create zombies and be directly connected to robot satan

Hmm, well they put a lot of emphasis on him being built INCREDIBLY differently than most other cybertronians, like he definitely scares them too

So I myself HC that tfp Soundwave is attractive to other cybertronians in a monsterfucker way

So yes, I think there are undoubtedly some autobots who think he's hot, but it's a real "oh Primus they're going to think I'm WEIRD😳" situation

ignore how lazy I got on some parts of these but! hc designs for Mizuki and Bibi (since I'm like 99% there's no reason for them to look identical at age 18 except the timeline fuckery)

design explanations and the original image under the cut

Mizuki:

ok so I gave her a kind of ahoge and hair bits (flicks? idk) at the end of the plaits because I draw them like that. I also originally gave her a belt but it looked bad lol. I gave her a split in her eyebrow since I like the idea of Mizuki experimenting with her appearance a bit, I also changed the shape of Aiba cause it looks cool lol. I gave her some rips in her tights cause I figured they'd get ripped throughout fights and investigations and stuff, and docs instead of her regular shoes because her regular shoes looked stupid icl, and cause I think Mizuki would like stompy shoes. You can't see it on the design but I also draw her with different gloves, painted nails (painted with Iris) and a friendship bracelet (with Iris, Amame and Kizuna) I love giving characters friendship bracelets so much

Bibi:

This design change is pretty drastic since I wanted to make her distinct from Mizuki. Her outfit's still based on the sekiba high uniform, but I made her jacket red and white with sleeves, partially to link to the masked woman's colour pallete and partially to link to Boss. I also gave her an adorabbit pin and a nonbinary pin. Like Mizuki, I changed Aiba's shape. I gave her one plait to a) make her distinct from Mizuki, b) to kind of slightly link to Kizuna since her adult design has one plait (although much shorter) and c) (I only thought of this after and I'm half joking lol) because she's Mizuki 1 so has 1 plait, and Mizuki is Mizuki 2 so has 2. I gave her rips in her tights for the same reason as Mizuki but a few more because she's more quick to anger iirc so would get in more fights, and also again as a slight link to the masked woman's tattered clothes. Finally I gave her sneakers instead of the shoes because the shoes looked stupid, and I figured since she goes barefoot as the masked woman she'd prefer a flatter and lighter shoe than Mizuki's docs. you can't see it here but her gloves would be different too.

I don't know shit about character design btw so these suck but I had fun I may be cringe but I am free
