Genshin Angst Headcanons - Why the two of you broke up

Note: Had an unexpected free day! I haven't written in a while, please excuse the mistakes, if any.

Disclaimer at the end of the post

Warning: Some are pretty predictable. Each of them have their own issues, lore wise, so some are lore heavy. You might not agree with some of them, but its how I see it, so to each their own. Let me know what you think! Some are quite angsty. Some scenes it's you breaking up with him and some are vice versa. Didn't feel like writing Razor, Venti and Xingqiu.

Aether

Sister issues. Enough said.

He realized he didn't have enough time to spare romancing with someone.

Somewhere along the way he felt guilt that he was enjoying his time with you while his sister went through some sort of villain origin story that seemingly turned her bad.

Top off all the adventuring, searching, solving problems for other people that he did...Where did that leave you, exactly?

"...I'm sorry, Y/N... I just... I don't think this is the right time for me to be together with you,"

Albedo

Contrary to popular belief it wouldn't be his lack of time or extreme focus on his alchemical experiments that would break the two of you up. He knows how to manage his time.

It was the RESULTS of experiments and his research that would put him away from you.

The possibility that HE or his world, was way too dangerous for you.

How many "Albedos" did Rhinedottir really create? Was there more than three? Perhaps four, five? And what happens when you come face to face with another Albedo?

"I'm afraid...There are far too many dangers surrounding myself... There are answers that I can't find...and perhaps that's the reason why my answer is to part ways with you,"

Alhaitham

Too much of a nonchalant attitude.

He expressed some kind of interest in you...but it's like... once in a blue moon. 95% of the time you're not sure if he's really into you. It almost seems like he's more into that book he reads all the time.

Simply just not good at expressing himself. Like, at all. Hides behind a "whatever works" and "I don't care about what other people think of me" attitude, unfortunately that seems to include you.

Is so straightforward that sometimes it hurts, but he's really just telling the truth through logical analysis.

will act like the breakup didn't hurt nor affect him at all. In turn it hurts you instead.

"I see. So you've had enough of me... And you only spoke up now? Pointing it out earlier could've diverted us from this path...If that's how you feel already I suggest that we stop seeing each other,"

"That's it? You're not even going to try and work it out with me?"

"What's there to work out? You've made yourself clear. You're not satisfied with the way I treat you, and I'm afraid I'm not going to change the way I act just for your pleasure... It'd be more meaningful for you to find someone who fits your criterias,"

Ayato

entering a relationship with a noble was not as easy as one thought.

It's not just about being together forever and feeling lucky because Ayato is rich and your whole life is set, it's also the not fitting in, the etiquette, the whispers from townfolk that you were too ordinary for him, the work that you needed to do if you were to become his wife.

All that was not really a big problem for you, but Ayato seemed not to know of your struggles, he was extremely busy, and when he wasn't, he seemed to think that everything was well and fine, since you were getting all your basic needs met and even more.

"...So I'm sorry, Ayato. This is just... All too much for me. I'm sorry,"

"...I understand. Forgive me, it seems that I've overlooked a lot of things...Perhaps it is as you say, that it'd be better for us to grow apart rather than grow together,"

Baizhu

because he is a ticking time bomb, no matter which way he looked it's not going to end well for both of you.

He either dies early or lives forever. In both scenarios he anticipates that the two of you are just going to be in a world of hurt.

Besides, he didn't mean to get so attached to someone in the first place, he knew his quest for immortality was long and arduous. You didn't deserve to walk that difficult road too.

While breaking up, will conceal the fact that he's only thinking of you and will possibly hurt you in the process.

"I'm sorry, but it's for the best. I ask that you continue going forward without me, there's no space for you in my... ideal future,"

Bennett

We all know it...it's his bad luck. However, it wasn't YOU who had a problem with it, it was HIM.

You understood that his bad luck was just some extended part of him, plus it's not like it was always bad, there were a lot of good times too. Plenty!

But the guilt ate him up whenever the two of you were stuck in a seemingly impossible scenario and predicament, brought on by his luck. He just had enough of it one day.

"I...I can't keep doing this to you every day! It's not fair..."

will be on the brink of tears before he even starts.

"Maybe it's better if you find someone else to adventure with, Y/N, sorry...!"

runs away before you can even get a word in.

Chongyun

Thinks he's not good enough in every aspect. It's really, seriously not about you. He thinks he's lacking in everything. Strength, maturity, experience, confidence.

So badly wants to stay with you but feels like he's not good enough and thinks that you're better off with someone else.

"D-Don't misunderstand... It's not because I don't like you anymore... I just...Please find someone else!"

Cyno

his bad jokes and TCG addiction. just kidding, you're not that shallow.

A lot of people are intimidated by him being the General Mahamatra because he gives importance to justice. While you, who had seen a bit more of him than other people had, it seemed more of an obsession to uphold the Akademiya's law and integrity.

This was not a big problem to you, you liked how he was serious at work.

Until one day when you were accused of plagiarising one of your papers and Cyno was the one sent to give you a first offense warning. The Akademiya knew of your relationship, that's probably why they sent him, to make it harder on the two of you.

Cyno didn't listen to your explanations on how it was an honest mistake, he still gave you the warning that you "deserved"

From then on it had just been different between the two of you, so it was really a mutual breakup. Or so you thought.

"...After that, I just realized that maybe this isn't the right time for us... We're both working for the Akademiya, we both take our jobs seriously...Unfortunately that seems to just be getting in the way of us...I think it's best if we stop seeing each other,"

"...I see." he pauses for a minute, as if tossing your words in his mind. "I...agree. Parting ways would certainly make work easier for both of us...it's the professional thing to do,"

Dainsleif

Has not moved on from his past.

Sure, everyone has their own baggage to carry, their own history to live through...but Dainsleif has heavier things than that. He seemed to wake up every day thinking of Khaenri'ah and the days long past. Was it regret? Nostalgia? Loneliness? You didn't know. You just knew that he wasn't really completely THERE with you in the present. Part of him still lived in the past.

When you explained that you felt like the two of you were not moving forward together and that it seemed like he wanted to go back to the past instead, he got offended.

"...My past is something that I carry forever, you'd claimed that you understood that," he starts.

"I do! But carrying it with you and letting it drag you backwards are two different things!"

He falters for a moment, only to leave you with his last words before turning away from you forever: "You will never understand, the weight that I carry,"

Diluc

is too guarded. You'd been friends for a long, long, long, long time before he decided he could let you in enough and be more intimate with you.

Even then everything was going at a snail's pace, though you were extremely patient with him.

The biggest problem with Diluc was that the two of you would progress one day, take a step forward, and then the next day it was like the two of you took two steps back.

Example: The two of you went out for a simple stargazing excursion late one night, it was nice and he had been incredibly affectionate. The next day he had trouble even meeting your gaze, and disappeared to do his work. It was also a little awkward during dinnertime. This scenario had happened more than once.

Hint: the closer he got to you the more afraid he became, thinking that he would one day lose you too.

"I...I can't. I love you but I...I've waited far too long. I'm sorry. I'm tired of this endless chase for you!"

He couldn't even say a thing. He'd wanted to ask you to stay, to wait for him a little longer, but he already knew how incredibly selfish that would have been. Instead, he grimaced, and looked away from your gaze, trying to find something worthwhile to say. There was only silence for a few moments.

"Goodbye Diluc," that's when you turned away.

Gorou

worships Kokomi too much and your insecurities just kept circling around in your head.

You know its his job. You know he isn't like that but the problem was YOU and not him.

Simply said you let your insecurity eat up the relationship between the two of you.

You couldn't bring yourself to say that you were jealous of the way he admired Kokomi so you broke up with him with another reason in tow.

Unfortunately, you're not a very good liar face to face so you did a butthole move and actually broke up with him through a letter. You just couldn't face him and tell him why.

All you mentioned in the letter was that you needed time to think and be away from him, and told him not to worry because it was your problem, not his.

Poor Gorou reread that letter over and over, trying to understand what went wrong.

Heizou

is just a natural flirt. You're not sure if he's doing it on purpose or not and you're not sure if he's even aware he's like that.

Anyway you'd seen him getting overly friendly (just another word for flirting) with a few other people a couple of times. You didn't let it get to you the first, fourth or even eighth time but you realized that he KNOWS that you're watching him do that.

So you confront him about it, but he claims that it's just his way of gathering information from others. People like to hear good things and some people are more susceptible to flirtatious comments so he resorts to that for his investigation sometimes.

You didn't really completely buy it and even if you did, it's not like this was healthy for your relationship. You just couldn't make yourself comfortable with it.

*You just chalked it up to the two of you being incompatible.

"I'm just not comfortable with that...I don't think I have to say sorry for how I feel but...I'm sorry anyway because I know you're just doing your job... It's probably best if we part ways here..."

"Is there any way to change your mind?" he genuinely asks.

You only give a lopsided smile. "You're a detective, I think you already know the answer to that,"

Yet he didn't stop you from walking away.

Itto

Kept breaking promises because he was too airheaded or too occupied doing something "stupid" with the kids or with his gang.

Pretty soon it just felt like you were an afterthought while everyone else in his life took precedent.

Got a ramen date? Oops, sorry! Got caught up looking for a strong onikabuto in the forest!

Needed his help to move some things? Gah, he was vandalising the bulletin boards, so he's running a bit late!

What's more you didn't actually mind that carefree, airheaded side of him...but it really got to you when he couldn't even seem to make you a priority. Not once.

He only realized that when he came running, late again, and stood face to face with a crying you.

"Hey sorry Y/N, I was just--...Why are you crying?!" is completely dumbfounded and clueless, mostly because when he came late, you had always shrugged it off with a smile on your face, or so he thought. This time you had a completely different reaction.

"I hate you...*hic* I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!"

Shocked beyond belief. It wasn't like you to just blow up like that, but he couldn't do anything except watch you turn and run away from him after that exclamation.

Kaeya

Sometimes you're not sure if he takes you seriously.

Recently, he's not where he says he is, you don't know why he doesn't just tell you where he is.

He said he'd be working late, but then you find out he's at Angel's Share.

He said he'll be at Angel's Share, but then you catch word from Jean that he's out on a late mission.

He said he's escorting a caravan to Mondstadt but he's actually on assignment in Liyue.

It came to the point where you altogether just stopped looking for him cause half of the time you couldn't find him. It's like he's avoiding you or something, which, actually, seems just about right since he's been so busy with "work"

It reached a breaking point when, for a week, you were unable to bring him the lunch you prepared...because he was not where he said he was going to be. It was starting to get annoying.

"I don't understand why you're lying to me! Why do you have to tell me you'll be at Angel's Share this afternoon when you're not? Do you realize you make me walk all the way there only to come all the way back with nothing achieved?"

"I'm sorry snowflake, that wasn't my intention," though he still chuckles despite knowing full well that you were about to turn away.

"You know what, let me know when you're ready to stop making jokes. Until then, don't bother contacting me,"

He just didn't expect you to actually walk away from him.

Kaveh

Entertains everyone and anyone. Naturally kind at heart, will stop for anyone in trouble...even that flirtatious man/woman who is clearly just pining for his attention.

No he doesn't quite realize this.

The same person had asked for his help at least 4 times now and all 4 times he had been happy to offer a helping hand.

The last straw was when he was invited into the stranger's house, they had apparently needed someone to help them move and re-arrange furniture and he did, working till almost dinner time.

You'd caught him right by the person's door, because Kaveh was actually honest and told you he'd be helping them today, but the person was clearly eyeing Kaveh rather flirtatiously.

"Come again next time," you heard the person say rather happily. Kaveh only replies with "If I have nothing else to do, I suppose,"

"Kaveh, they're coming onto you and you keep letting it happen!"

"I'm not certain what you're talking about...They just needed some help around their house, nothing suspicious happened at all. Even if there was, I won't let anything happen between me and a stranger!"

"Then STOP helping them!"

"There isn't anything wrong with lending a hand...It was a quick move of things, that's all,"

"How would YOU feel if I just went into someone's house and kept helping them "move" things?"

"...I would think that's nice of you,"

You actually threw your hands up. "Oh, forget it! You know what, for someone who LOVES helping others, you're not doing such a great job of helping ME," then walked away and never came back. "Good riddance,"

Kazuha

He's a wandering samurai. You knew what you were getting into but you didn't expect dating him to be so hard.

He was gone for weeks on end, and you were not getting on that boat with him. In essence the two of you were just not ready to follow each other to the end's of the Earth, and that was fair. The two of you were young.

Kazuha kind of saw it coming, whenever he visited you, you seemed less spirited and he had an inkling as to why. The time apart was just too much for you.

It was a rather clean break actually. A real mutual breakup that the two of you agreed on.

"...You could say it's just not the right time for us," you even managed to laugh under your breath and he did the same, though it was barely audible.

"...Mm. There are matters that you need to attend to here...and there are things that I need to do out there," he slowly stood up from his sitting position next to you and still gazed at you rather lovingly. "...Perhaps, in another world, you and I are bound together,"

You gazed back forlornly, "...Just not in this one, it looks like,"

Lyney

because he will always choose his siblings over you. Always.

Though that's not a bad thing because you also think that family is important...somewhere along the way you realized that family is the ONLY thing he had and saw.

Example: Lynette and you had gotten ill at the same time one winter morning. Perhaps it was the cold that was passing around Fontaine. Lyney had been so worried about Lynette, that he seemed to have forgotten about you for the next few days. In fact, Lyney didn't even realize that you caught the cold too. You had only heard from Freminet, who you happened to cross paths with, that Lynette was also ill.

You thought that incident was the end of it, but really it seemed that whenever Lyney wanted to hang out with you, Lynette had to be there too. You tried to understand...after all there's still that mystery of disappearing women in Fontaine.

The breakup was induced when Lyney completely forgot about your birthday, because Freminet's was around the same time as yours. You helped Lyney prepare everything for Freminet, and said nothing about your own.

You realized that there was nothing wrong with choosing family over everything else...but the problem here was that Lyney didn't even have space for you in the first place.

So you left without saying anything. You figured he'd get over it quick. You had even gone so far as to move away from the main city of Fontaine and out into another island, because what would you say if he found you? That you were jealous of his siblings? You weren't going to ruin a family like that and it wasn't right to make him choose...so you just left without a word.

Scaramouche

surprisingly it's not his anger issues.

It's the way he wouldn't acknowledge your relationship. You wonder how you even got into one with him.

There's no public show of affection, but even behind closed doors it rarely happened.

You knew that he was going to be like that, and so you didn't mind it all that much.

It was getting a bit much though when, out in public, he would walk further in front of you and refused to walk next to you. When he pretended like he didn't even know you. When he didn't stop to help you even when another man had shown interest in you, bordering on uncomfortable.

The more time passed the more you simply felt unloved...but for some reason you still blamed yourself.

"...I...don't know. Maybe you find me undesirable, or just...unappealing. Maybe you're embarrassed of me or...or..." maybe you just didn't care in the first place, you thought to yourself.

There was a long silence. Of you turning your gaze away, of him still piercing into yours. And then...

"Tsk...don't waste my time...Leave if you want to leave, door's open,"

Tartaglia

This one is simple. It's his obsession for fighting plus his complete disregard for himself. It's a constant heart attack for you. At some point the anxiety is just too much for you to handle.

Imagine living every day just wondering if he's safe at the same time knowing that he just loves to look for trouble.

The foul legacy that you know of, he uses it with disregard as well, despite knowing that it wasn't good for him.

And there are even days where you know he was heavily wounded but didn't go to you, in an attempt to shield you from worry.

It's a constant battle trying to stay sane and unworried, until one day it all just becomes too much.

"...Nothing I say will change anything, Tartaglia. This is who you are...This is who you need to be..." you whisper while bandaging his knuckles. He lets out a short hum.

It was silent all up until you finished with his hand, you squeeze it gently. "...I love you but...I can't keep doing this to myself, I'm tired...more so than I have ever been before,"

He lets your hand slip away from his knuckles, and that was the last he saw of you.

Thoma

This one is also simple. He was always taking care of others and running errands for others that he sometimes just couldn't catch a break.

Just a classic case of not enough time for you since he had a job to do for the Kamisato Clan.

He knows it, and feels awful about it. So he's the one who makes the move.

"It hurts that I can't give you what you deserve, Y/N. This isn't it... You deserve more than this but I can't give you that and I'm sorry. Please look for the love that you deserve,"

Tighnari

Remembers everything. Can be critical of things you've done, specially if he thinks there's a better way to do it.

Simply said you just feel stupid in front of him sometimes.

He doesn't mean to, but he sometimes forgets to appreciate or give praise to the things that you do well and even if he does, it tends to be short lived compared to his constructive criticisms.

Pretty soon you felt like he only looks at the bad things you do, and never the good. Though he was really only trying to teach and guide you as an equal.

He in fact feels that you are one of the few people who can keep up educational conversations with him.

The problem is he kind of forgets that you're his lover, and that you would enjoy his praise and affection from time to time.

"Do you... Do you ever have anything nice to say other than 'good work' or 'great observation'?" the words were out of your mouth before you could hold yourself back. Sometimes it was tiring to feel like you weren't good enough.

There's a flash of surprise that crosses Tighnari's expression for a split second, before he recovers. "...Had I not been praising your work enough lately? My apologies... It has a lot of merits, I just thought that you wanted my opinion on how to make it better,"

You opened your mouth to say something, but closed it again right after to ponder on his words. Somehow even that had managed to make you feel embarrassed. It was here you knew that the problem also lied within yourself.

"...Sorry, Tighnari...I think I'll need some time alone,"

He obliges quickly and asks. "That's reasonable. When would you like me to come back?"

"...Let me rephrase that... I need some time away. From us."

Xiao

Unfortunately there's a lot of things wrong here... his lack of affection. His aloof personality. His dedication to his yaksha duties. Despite that he does actually try to be gentlemanly or respectful of you.

The worst of it is that he didn't know how to be in a relationship, in other words he just wasn't ready for one, or perhaps he would never be ready for one.

He didn't understand that humans craved companionship and sometimes touch. He didn't understand that meant having to favour you over others, sometimes even putting you first over his yaksha duties.

Worst of it all was when he shut himself off from you, sometimes for days on end, when his karmic debt was too high. He only really did it to protect you, but never realized how isolated that made you feel.

When you confronted him about it, he felt attacked. Hiding away was the only way he knew how to cope...why couldn't you understand that?

"Let me help you, Xiao,"

"I don't need your help!" his tone would make you wince and just like that he disappears into a billow of smoke.

You never returned to Wangshu Inn after that. If he couldn't let you in, there was no use trying to knock on his heart. Xiao being Xiao, never sought you ought again either.

Zhongli

He had experienced so many things and you had listened to many a tales from him.

This is what caused you to realize that you hadn't even experienced life at all, and yet here you were willing to tie yourself down to him.

It just didn't feel like it added up. Here he was with all this knowledge of the world and here you were who had never even stepped outside of Liyue. By no means were you stupid, but you felt that you could be better not only for him, but for yourself if you learned more.

There was just such a huge gap in life experiences, and though you never expected to get to his level (he was a God who had lived for a long time, you would never catch up to him) you at least wanted to see what was out there with your own eyes instead of through his stories.

He understood that wholeheartedly, and had no qualms in letting you go.

"You will always have a place with me, Y/N. No amount of lifetimes will change that,"

Today Is Where Your Book Begins (Chapter II)

Determined to meet with the Reader from Beyond the Stars, Aether discusses with Alice the idea of connecting with them. Meanwhile, you realize something about your game that differs greatly from others.

There is something that is troubling you a lot.

There's this game called Genshin Impact, right? It's a gacha game where you can spend money on characters that you wish to play. Its first story arc just finished in a climactic finale full of tension and drama.

Afterward, the protagonist of said story (Aether in your case) gives a speech where they thank all of their friends for helping him reunite with his sibling.

Currently, you are rewatching the speech on social media to watch and read other people's reactions to it.

...

...There's just one issue.

You initially wanted to rewatch the speech because you thought that people would react wildly to the fourth wall break at the end of the speech. The one where Aether thanks you as the 'Reader from Beyond the Stars.'

...The only problem is that nobody is talking about it. Not because they aren't interested in such a revelation.

...

Because according to the internet, that fourth wall break never happened.

You want to call bullshit, obviously. You swear to God the Aether from your game mentioned your existence as part of a fourth-wall break. You're not insane! It's just FACTS!!

...

But if you were to bring it up, who would believe you?

You weren't recording your game at the time, and looking at the Archon Quest historical archives within the game never showed that it was said. According to the game, the last person that Aether thanked was his sister, Lumine.

This is like the equivalent of the quiet kid who never talks, saying, "Nobody will ever believe you" to your face.

You try and convince everyone else that they said it, but they'll always believe the quiet kid. And in the end, you end up looking insane.

If you were to post on social media that Aether broke the fourth wall without any evidence, you'd be labeled as an attention-seeker. Wrong. Never happened. Stop lying.

"So what am I supposed to do? Ignore it?" you asked yourself.

...

"Ehh. One missing dialogue isn't going to kill me. Stop worrying about it. You've got other things to be more concerned with."

You continued your day as if nothing had ever happened.

"You understand that what you're asking of me is pretty big, right, Aether?"

"I do understand, Alice. But surely you can understand my reasonings."

Alice hummed in affirmation from her seat at the head of the Imaginarium Theater's table. Aether watched from his seat beside her as she closed her eyes, seemingly thinking to herself.

"Although I know you harbor good intentions, I'm afraid this is a request I cannot easily grant."

"...Why is that?" Aether asked, frowning slightly.

"I've told you before that who you're asking me to bring is simply a Reader of this story we're in," Alice explained. "Readers and storybook characters aren't meant to interact with each other. If they did, the relationship between the two becomes chaotic."

"But are we not storybook characters anymore?" Aether asked. "We've changed our fate created by the Heavenly Principles so that we may forge it for ourselves. If we are no longer part of their story, why do we need to continue to distance ourselves from the Reader?"

"Because that is all the Reader has known us as," answered Alice. "Informing the Reader that the characters within the story are aware of their existence is a hard message to get across. Usually, it ends with the Reader scared out of their wits and separating themselves from that story forever."

"But it's not impossible."

Alice's eyes widened in surprise before she drew a sigh. "You're right. It's not impossible. Just incredibly difficult with a low chance of success."

She leaned forward in her chair. "But this isn't something that can be done with just one person's request. You're talking about bringing an outworlder - not even a descender, an outworlder - to Teyvat. To an entire new world. A world inhabited by hundreds of thousands of people. You don’t get to choose for the entire world whether or not you can bring any outworlders. This world has already had enough problems with them already.

She pauses for a brief second. "...No offense."

"None taken."

Alice nodded. "Do you see what I mean, though? This isn't something that you should be taking lightly."

"...I know," Aether sighed. "I just wish I could properly thank them for all they've done for me."

He got up from his seat, turned away from Alice, and looked to the ceiling. "But just saying it isn't enough. I want to be able to look them in the eyes as I give them my thanks. That's the only way I'll know that my message got across."

Alice hummed. "Well then..."

"I'll see what I can do about that."

...

Aether turned back around toward Alice, a surprised expression etched on his face. "...Huh? You mean you're gonna follow through with this?"

"I know I said before that the odds of success are low, but what can I say?" Alice said, hands raised in question. "Not only do I like myself a good challenge, I like our odds as well."

destinyswap Lloyd had a good childhood with both of his parents present, a mom with a well paying job to provide him with whatever he desired , and his dad who helped train him to be a strong and capable fighter . he grew up knowing all there was to know of prophecies and elements and things alike

ds Lloyd wasn’t RAISED to be discouraged from his dragon or oni heritage , so , at this point , lloyd has essentially mastered both forms (we’ll get to this some other day though…) . he also knows spinjitzu before the ninja team is formed , and he actually gives them excitable advice on how to use it (resulting in kai being the first one out of the other four at the time!)

a lot of his issues come from the fact that he had to watch his uncle succumb to darkness . Lloyd has always loved Wu , and the thought of losing his uncle forever haunts him more than he likes to admit . Wu was genuinely an amazing additional guardian to him , which adds to the hurt , because Lloyd sees his uncle acting in horrific ways and slowly fails to recognize him.

that aside though ……i love ds lloyd . In destinyswap , he is still mischievous and snarky and likes to pull pranks , but he’s never unnecessarily cruel , and he loves to help people . He is a pacifist , thanks to his father’s teachings , and mostly fights with the intent to disarm or stun his opponent , rarely hurt , and never killl . Although he loves broadswords , he , once again , has learned to use them in less harmful ways . He just likes the chunky swords. He would probably be a claymore user in genshin

Despite his element easily being dangerous , Lloyd uses it to help , or at least in controlled ways . he even knows how to singe wounds with his fire to prevent extra damage . when Nya or any of his other friends are sad, Lloyd uses his element to warm himself up to a comfortable level and then hugs them as a form of comfort . He uses it to relieve muscle cramps from his friends (and even his opponents) sometimes too . He’s a really sweet kid

idk what else to put for analysis / lore so here’s some canon stuff about him for destinyswap :)

- when he first met Jay, Lloyd pestered him about Starfarer knowledge because he was so excited to meet someone who knew THE Cliff Gordon . In fact … that’s the only reason he even knew who Jay was

- he still has a big sweet tooth , but it’s even worse in ds . He whines when he has to eat something that isn’t drowning in sugar, and the drinks he orders are so sweet that it grosses Kai out

- he really wants to dye a streak of his hair green, like Morro’s , but hasn’t known how to bring it up

- he’s great at math , but hates it . Jay’s ranting about measurements can put him to sleep

- he stuffs tiny creatures into his pockets (safely, carefully) and tries to bring them back to the temple . Garmadon always catches him because he tends to stumble as he walks , because he’s staring at the little animal in his pocket

- he has never ordered the same ice cream flavor twice , but that’ll change once he “tries every flavor and decides which is the best”

- he has a big comic book collection , still ongoing

- when he was younger , he used to tighten his belt too tight and then complained about it during training before his father figured out what the problem was

- I said this before, but sometimes , he speaks like an old person . can’t really blame him though

- he climbs into someone else’s bed almost every night , and since he’s so small, they usually don’t notice until the morning

Sorry abt the radio silence on and off again guys, its the same old story tbh, life stuff like fulltime job, just moved again (30 min away but still woof), etc

I havent stopped thinking abt you guys for a minute i stg lol - i keep wanting to come back and post and whatnot, but the fics i promised (and am still in the trenches fighting to finish) have rlly been the big bog down of this blog for me

So i felt like anytime i had to write, i would try to spend writing the fic(s) but that meant no asks getting answered or posted 🫠💔

Ill instead take the pressure off myself to get those done, and simply chip away at it as i please, and focus on asks instead

Also, my ao3 works are now locked down, due to recent AI scrapping, both personally thats been done to one of my works by a rando guest, and that general sweep that happened to ao3 recently.

I believe 4, maybe 5 out of my 6 works were taken.

They are still readable, but you have to be a registered user first, and I think I will be continuing that for my future works, as unfortunate as it is, because i generally like my writing to be accessible. But these idiots are making Ai wanna write stories instead of solve our math problems or clean our streets or something more useful, so here we are.

Really wish I could do something similar for tumblr, but i guess we cant have an ethical peaceful society everywhere...

this is based off of a vision description that a friend of a friend made:

using this as my guide, here are the pjsk characters with visions !! i'm willing to explain any of them too :33 (though i won't be able to provide much of an explanation for some characters) :

leo/need :

ichika : hydro !! honestly wasn't too sure for her though so feel free to argue with me on that saki : anemo !! due to her days in the hospital and her desire to get her friends back together, i think it fits honami : dendro !! i don't know a lot about honami but it fit ??? when i originally made this i assigned her a cryo vision, but i'm not too familiar with her backstory (i should ask the no.1 honami fan ever but too lazy to bother him rn ;-;;) shiho : hydro !! don't know much about shiho either .. i should catch up on leo/need

more more jump! :

minori : pyro or geo !! minori is extremely hardworking and always gets back up no matter what she faces .. meaning pyro or geo would work really well for her !! haruka : hydro :33 it fits her i think !! (i don't have much of an explanation other than vibes ..) airi : pyro !! airi is very passionate about being an idol. when she was in 7th grade and first wanted to become an idol, a lot of people said she couldn't do it (except ena cheered her on, airiena besties forever), and after hard work and passion, airi made it !!!! her using shizuku as her rival to spur her on further was also kinda funny :3 (and then aishizu breakup in main story auughh .... but it's ok they're lesbian and together now) shizuku : cryo or electro ! when i originally made this i had forgotten to include shizuku, but due to her issues with cheerful days and maintaining a perfect image, i feel like cryo or electro would suit her

vivid bad squad :

kohane : pyro or geo !! like minori, kohane worked extremely hard to get better at singing so she could stand with an and the others. for this reason i believe pyro would suit her well, but geo could work too. an : pyro !! (try to stop me from giving everyone in this group pyro). i honestly don't know a lot about an, but she seems pretty passionate (and worked even harder after seeing how far kohane had gotten #WTWG), but please fight me on this one because i don't know anything about an (i feel like sega lwk does vbs dirty, esp with the newer events coming out) akito : pyro (woah ..) if i don't know a lot about an, i know less about akito. he's passionate. umm yeah akito fans please give me some knowledge toya : anemo !! toya's issue is his father not supporting his dream and he needs to escape that (though this is resolved now, i think). i suppose cryo could fit him as well, but i'm pretty sure he doesn't struggle with feelings of incapability

wonderlands x showtime :

tsukasa : pyro / geo / !! for pyro : bro's passionate about theater. so much that in the main story he yelled at nene for messing up the show. he loves theater and making people smile and posing randomly everywhere he goes. it's a given. for geo : it fits him for the same reason as pyro and i compare him to itto a lot ;-;; emu : my girl is pyro at heart !! she is so passionate about the wonder stage and making people smile and theater and everything !! propaganda ?? her whole story nene : geo !!!! my girl. my everything. she is definitely geo ! the whole world could be against her and she would still choose to sing. i admit i haven't read her stories except for on this holy night i sing, but from my knowledge about her issues with sakurako and her problems with not being "good enough" bring out a very geo feel to her rui : electro. it's not a secret that rui's an outcast or unique. he's a child genius. i think electro fits him perfectly :33

kanade : dendro or cryo. for dendro, kanade doesn't exactly want to learn more about the universe or anything, but more about mafuyu. she would take a thousand risks if it meant she could help someone (specifically mafuyu, usually). i don't explain it very well, but it feels right for her. for cryo, kanade feels unsure of her capabilities because she can't compose the right song for mafuyu. that's basically what kana5 was about - no song she made would reach mafuyu. the thing is she doesn't want to escape this conflict, she wants to make a song that will reach mafuyu so she can finally let go of the guilt of her father collapsing. but she needs to escape this conflict. mafuyu : cryo. mafuyu could be anemo as well, but due to her name meaning "midwinter" (at least it would if her name was written in kanji) i like cryo better. the conflict mafuyu deals with is her mother (as seen in mafu6). contradictory to the description, she's not so much trying to "escape" her mother as she is trying to try and be calm and herself around her (though also seen in mafu6, mafumom is trying and failing ...) ena : geo. her father said she isn't made for the art world. she keeps trying. her art teacher yukihara says she sucks. she keeps going. ena is (almost) the epitomy of "i'll try again and again and again." (i believe minori is the true epitomy of that.) ena is extremely hardworking and overcame every challenge thrown at her, even though she did quit sometimes. her struggles have led her so far and i am so proud of her <3 mizuki : electro !! mizurui rooftop electro besties is something i will never let go of. i think it's pretty obvious she got outcasted a lot and only found solace in her own home. not to mention (and tw sui)it's not exactly wrong to say that she hasn't been on the edge of death before, considering main story nightcord's constant thoughts about disappearing, and mizuki after mizu5.

that's all !! if you think another vision would fit the characters better, please let me know !! and if you're a genshin impact fan coming to this post wondering what the heck project sekai is about, i think you should definitely play it !! even if you don't like rhythm games, the story is impeccable, with amazingly well-written characters that brought me through some hard times :3

✧ Akito was probably going all around school, trying to find you panically, he didn't even care if you went to Miyamasuzaka, he HAD to find you, especially when he knows your disability and gentle heart

✧ it was probably when he heard your bullies laughing that you couldn't even run away properly... and something just switched in him...

✧ it's easy to say, he doesn't care if your bullies are boys or girls, he'll give them a little lesson anyway. But I'd they're girls, he'll go a bit lighter, not breaking their noses but just giving few bruises... They can do that to you, so why he can't?!

✧ after he deals with that, he asks Kohane/An to look for you around the school you go to and call him if they find you, while he goes look for you anywhere else

✧ his first thought would be to scan area around the school but when he doesn't find you there, he goes to your SEKAI and either Miku immidietly tells him where you are or he finds you himself

"Hey, hey, don't worry, it's me, yeah? Why didn't you tell me someone was giving you a hard time? I could give them a lesson or keep you company.. or ask someone I know to do that."

✧ he'll most likely hold you closely, trying his best to comfort you, letting his soft personality slip a bit

✧ and you bet either he won't take his eyes off you at school for even a second or you'll see Kohane or any of her friends every break, checking on you

✧ he doesn't yell your name tho, instead he just keeps keen eye on his surroundings and finally he finds you just sitting on a beach with your head in your knees

okay here are my thoughts about genshin at the moment. i have been not making this post for a little bit because it. pisses me off.

I don't know what the fuck they think they're doing with these characters. HONESTLY. yes the state of them was getting worse gradually. it doesn't take a genius to figure out that when part of a character's draw is how strong they are, in order to get people to buy more and more characters, they have to get stronger and stronger.

but what felt before like a gradual incline turned into a fucking cliffside when natlan dropped and mualani was released at a similar power level to neuvillette (who had just just just powercrept every other hydro dps) WITHOUT the same investment or supports he needed.

The problem I think really is not the character kits themselves. It's not that they're out of ideas. It's just that the multipliers are fucking crazy. and to be frank!! I don't think i've seen one person who is happy with the direction things seem to be going.

i can't deny that there are a lot of good older characters and i wouldn't try to. I am. and perhaps will forever be. a fischl main. (all things considered a very lucky main pick. i considered xinyan) But i am annoyed by ccs who will try to tell you that international is still perfectly abyss viable. like girl. go play international then. go play kokomi taser. go play morgana.

content that should be designed to be challenging mechanically is NOT because it's way easier and more profitable to create a situation where the game looks you dead in the face and goes. drop 2000$ for c2 mauvika and citlali and just kill the enemies before they 1-shot you. otherwise enjoy the next half hour of restarting the chamber.

the fact that they changed the rules for the chronicled wish to put shenhe on rather than let go of hu tao, especially when they have arlecchino right there to give as many regular reruns as they want, is particularly scummy. especially after over a year of shenhe not having a rerun. incredibly nasty. just a flagrant display of how little they care about the feelings of their players as compared to their bottom line.

They're a business. Whatever. That doesn't make it cool or right.

I love genshin's story. I'm concerned for its direction. I'm concerned for the writing of its characters. Maybe I'm missing something, but Mualani's hydro vision doesn't represent jack shit in terms of a duality of character. Citlali could have been absolutely fascinating but has instead been reduced to a tusundre love interest for the traveller to a degree they didn't even inflict on Ayaka. We're supposed to see playable Skirk soon-ish, which I would love to be excited about but tbh with how they handled citlali (another woman who is hundreds of years old and incredibly powerful) I am preparing myself for disappointment.

WHICH SUCKS! I love genshin! I love it! I think that it started out a good game, and that it could be a good game again. Who knows? Maybe natlan will be the character-release equivalent of inazuma's story quest: kind of bad, but with much better things after it. Maybe they'll finally start running three characters at once. Maybe Childe will come back and I will forget my troubles again. I will quit genshin once it becomes virtually unplayable, or once they start releasing doubles of the same character, whichever comes first.

tldr; natlan powercreep needs to end and i really hope they don't fumble any more characters like they did citlali, but ultimately i still really like genshin and want to know where it is going.

Here’s the promised artwork of Jestro as the 10th Fatui Harbinger. Have I completely lost my mind? Well, obviously. Can’t you tell? How else would you explain such an unexpected crossover? But let’s not dwell on the sad stuff. I’ve been wanting to write Jestro’s story in the world of Genshin for a long time, and I finally got around to it.

Jestro was just a common drifter, earning his daily bread through thievery and sleight of hand. He was born in Snezhnaya—a harsh region where it’s a mystery how he even survived. But a hard life didn’t break him—it forged him. He knew the world was full of injustice, and at some point, the lines of morality began to blur for him.

He was pulled from the mud and given a chance by Monstrox — a pure-blooded Khaenri’ahn, cursed with immortality, and one of the Tsaritsa’s closest advisors. What did he see in Jestro? Nobody knows. But for some reason, he chose to recruit him. That’s how the young man ended up in one of the Fatui divisions under Dottore—the 2nd Harbinger. Dottore didn’t object, and soon, thanks to Monstrox’s guidance, Jestro even earned the position of the Doctor’s personal agent... on whom the Doctor then began conducting experiments.

For instance, Dottore openly used Jestro as a "prototype" to test a modified Delusion. That explains why Jestro’s gameplay mechanics involve health loss. He’s the victim of one of the more "successful" experiments.

Over time, Jestro grew tired of being a lab rat and an errand boy. He was frustrated that he was stuck in the status of an agent forever.

And then… a chance appeared.

A letter arrived in Snezhnaya from Capitano, in which he refused to retrieve the Gnosis from Mavuika and asked to pass the mission on to someone else. Not long after, news arrived that the Captain had died in Natlan. That’s when Jestro realized: this was it. His moment. But there was one problem—if even Capitano couldn’t handle the Pyro Archon, Jestro would be killed in the very first battle. So he had to act smarter. Cunningly. Even though strategic thinking isn’t exactly Jestro’s strong suit.

That’s when Monstrox came to his aid, tossing him a few ideas—on the condition that his involvement remained secret. Out of all the proposed schemes, Jestro liked the idea involving the volcano best. Or rather, blowing it up. The plan was laughably simple: create chaos in Natlan, weaken the Archon, and then deliver the fatal blow. No need to fight directly—someone else could do it—and Jestro was more than happy with that.

The time came to execute the plan.

Together with Dottore, Jestro went to Natlan, where they were met with a very cold reception—despite the region’s warm climate. Dottore’s nasty reputation had apparently reached even this far-off land, and the Traveler didn’t make things easier either.

But for Jestro, it was different. No one took him seriously. He was just a regular agent, not seen as a threat.

And that worked in his favor.

I wish I had something I liked and also wasn't spoilery that I could share, but the next five chapters of Boundless Sky are all in a jumble and also tie up the next second act of the fic, more or less. I recently reworked my outline and I'm hoping to start sinking my teeth into it in a significant way soon! I know I've been saying I'll get back to it for ages but, fingers crossed, these next few months are nothing but regular routine and work, FINALLY, so in theory I will have the brain space to get back to it.

Literally its been killing me that I haven't been able to work on anything except some silly Genshin Impact stuff. Like don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the Genshin related things ofc ofc & Baizhu really is just Elrond a little to the left with green hair, but Partake and Boundless Sky are standing there in the back of my brain just begging for work, but they're so plotty that I haven't been able to make much progress other than sorting out my outlines for both of them (and believe me, considering that I'm hitting some intense plot development coming up in both fics it's driving me crazy that I can't get there. Both fics are approaching the scenes/plot points which the fic/at least this part of the fic have been building to since...forever. So lol. I want to read it just as badly as I think the rest of you do, but the problem is I have to WRITE it. Ah the Curse.)

Well, Boundless Sky I only have outlined until the end of Act II + Interlude chapters. Partake I outlined all the way to the end of the fic but that fic tends to be a Plague(tm) when it comes to veering from my plans. But at least that's something lol.

sorry time for my monthly spiraling rant

i personally think the inclusion of nod-krai is very interesting lol

as a concept, the idea that there are some civilizations and villages not under complete jurisdiction of the archons is very cool - it's been done with past civilizations and ruins but we've never actually been to one. i feel like it'll maybe have a "traveler village" vibe at least from the teaser images we have so far.

reality wise - i think it's better that they actually are trying to make up for oversights that they missed early on in development - genshin was their second big project so of course they mess up, everyone does lol. i dont think its entirely fair to developers to bash them for making a "filler" region to fix mistakes years in the past when they had to divert their whole ideas, plans resources, and investments into creating an entirely unprecedented area to OWN UP to mistakes they made.

they basically said "yes we made mistakes, but we see that now, and have gradually shifted the story to allow ourselves to correct those mistakes and bring everything together."

and i immediately see the community basically (not everyone who criticizes, but its common among arguments against nod krai) go "okay so why didn't you do this sooner, you are horrible developers and never learn from mistakes" (which by the way, when Hoyo does make mistakes, they get bashed anyways)

its to the point where it goes

make something new and exciting (like natlan)

everyone hates it

go back to original plan (mondstadt 5.6)

try to fix problems that people complained about (nod krai)

there is literally no right way for hoyo to execute any ideas because they'll just receive backlash from players no matter what

and another thing i notice about this community - they get REALLY defensive, REALLY fast.

this might just be the analyzing part in me, but i see a LOT of deflection and defense whenever someone says something that criticizes another person's opinions. i dont know if this is limited to just the genshin fandom?? or anyone in general?? but someone will say they didnt like natlan, and list valid reasons why. a good response would be counters and explanations for why you don't agree with that. that's okay!

and then there are... the others. the ones that whenever someone says something that contains anything negative about what they're agreeing with, its berserker (4-piece set probably) mode instantly. pointing out why everything is wrong and how the basic fundamentals of how an individual thinks. like bro??? are you not allowed to be wrong?? there are so many genshin players i see that are just... completely unable to admit their faults. like come on man.

its not even one side which is the great part. like take the natlan debate for example.

there are those who loath its very existence (any enjoyment of this region gets you ostracized forever - by the way?? im not entirely sure if ostracized is a word that most genshin players possess in their vocabulary /j im just joking guys)

and the glazers (criticizing one thing will have people go ham and say the most intense glaze you've ever seen in your life. i could glaze a whole bakers dozen of donuts 14 times over with the amount they glaze)

and so i dont appear biased - i personally ENJOYED natlan. does that mean that it was good? not really! i enjoy a lot of things that are flawed or not good. as long as i have FUN is whats important, and i definitely had fun playing through natlan

ARCHON QUEST RANT SECTION

while the quests were fun yes, does that mean the story was peak?? not at all lol. there were tons and tons of mistakes and forgotten lore points and mavuika (while badass and cool as shit) is not the best written character!! do i still love her? yes!! its entirely possible to enjoy something while acknowledging flaws in design and writing. also idk if i lack comprehension but i thought forging traveler's ancient name would kill xilonen. why is she not dead?? (nothing against her i love her lazy ass)

i also just think a lot of genshin players fail to interact with and enjoy media that isn't "perfect." take one of the most controversial anime out there - sword art online. i have indeed watched the entirety of it, and i know and take into account the negative parts of it. (kirito's overpoweredness, harassment scenes, etc.) was it perfect? no!!! did i overly enjoy myself watching it? yes!! same thing with Mobile Suit Gundam - The Witch from Mercury!! it was obviously cut and rushed and concepts weren't as fleshed out as they could've been. did i enjoy the show? hell yeah!!! the lesbians live on in my brain forever

point is - a lot of this community needs to be more accepting, whether to devs, new updates and features, or other players opinions. they also need to be more open to criticism, and understand that while someone disagrees with your opinion, it doesn't undermine how you feel about it. if you enjoyed natlan, that's great! from a factual standpoint, it isn't perfect. none of the regions are. (which is the reason for nod-krai if readers here haven't figured it out already), and if you didn't enjoy it, you don't need to disregard the things that entertained people who liked it.

TL;DR: people should be more accepting and less defensive, attacking devs for not trying to fix their mistakes earlier (which is when they made the mistake to begin with) is kind of mean/morally wrong, and genshin players should try to enjoy imperfect media rather than endlessly telling others how it could be better

if that TL;DR was too long uhhhh treat others how you want to be treated and learn some goddamn reading comprehension i swear i see some of the most illiterate players in this fandom

Bennett It would be his luck, wouldn't it? All the little things had started piling up, the small mistunes that led to bigger problems. Maybe they just couldn't stand seeing Benny coming home injured any longer, or maybe they were tired of his bad luck affecting them as well. The news finally broke down the last barrier standing between them.

"I'm sorry...I love you...but this isn't healthy for either of us."

Diluc Too many secrets, too many sharp words and too many expectations. It was too good for too long, and Diluc knows he should have ended it far before it reached this point at all. Clinging to the false hope things would be alright only brought this mistake about.

"Please take care of yourself...I...I just can't do this, I'm sorry."

Kaeya The earth-shattering reality of what was happening hits him harder than a solid block of ice. The test was positive, and Y/N was already walking out the door before he could offer solutions.

Mika Didn't even want to tell them. Facing the truth was just too hard, and his hand clung to their sleeve as Y/N tried to walk away. "Mika, you have to let me go. We aren't right for each other...you'll find someone else, I'm certain...but it isn't me."

Razor It wasn't fair. Y/N was his mate, his lover, his purpose. Razor loved hard and true, and watching them walk out of his life with no consideration for their pup broke his heart in two.

With the life he lead, and the battles and danger he was constantly throwing himself into, it was only a matter of time before they turned their back.

Chongyun Doesn't expect it, the goodbye comes out of the blue, and the news of his pregnancy falls like bitter herbs on his tongue. Y/N looks surprised, sorry for him even, but doesn't stop.

"Maybe we'll meet again one day...but it's for the best if we don't."

Gaming They were the one, he was so certain of it. Gaming had told his whole family, and celebrated the news of his unborn child with them while waiting for Y/N to return from their trip. Except, they don't come back. Not a day later, not a week later, only sending a letter two months after leaving. "I couldn't say it to your face, but I'm not ready for a family. This is too much too fast."

Xiao Isn't shocked, but still, he hurts. For once, just once, Xiao allowed himself to think perhaps, things could be different. He could be happy, Y/N would stay and all the darkness around them could be kept at bay.

"Xiao...it was never going to work. We're just too different..."

Xingqiu Bitter, the sight of their face makes his blood boil as they brush past each other in the street. Their child growing steadily inside his belly, while Y/N carries on with life as if he'd never happened.

Zhongli Accepts it, hides the pain with a gentle smile, but crumbles behind closed doors. "Tell our child I'm sorry...but I can't raise...whatever it is they'll be."

Inazuma Arataki Itto The hurt is clear on his face, eyes wide in shock. Not Y/N, not his best friend, his confidant, his ride of die. How could they do this? Now of all times? Weren't they supposed to be together, forever? "Itto...I never wanted a child...especially not the child of an Oni."

Ayato The pressure was simply too much. Every move they made, action they took, word they spoke, was under the gaze of haughty officials with more money and sense. Ayato doesn't blame them for running, the responsibility would have crushed anyone, but not him. Tears would be shed in private, but in public, his smile would never drop.

Gorou Maybe, he thinks, if he'd been human it would have been different. If it was just the responsibility of one child on their shoulders and not the life of three.

Kazuha Allows them to walk away with questions. A part of him knew it was coming, understood that what they'd shared had been on the rocks for months. Asking them to stay and raise a child would only lead to bitter resentment, and he couldn't let that happen.

Heizou Shuts himself away and throws himself into his work. He can't face this right now, he simply can't.

Thoma For the first time in all his years working under the Kamisato household, Thoma requests a break. Two weeks, he flees to the country and washes away the memories with sleep. Y/N's last words still ringing in his ears when he returns.

Cyno Thinks it must be some sort of joke. Y/N can't be serious. They had talked about this, made plans, and yet...they want to walk away? Pretend nothing had happened between them and leave their child without a parent? "I thought this is what I wanted, I really did but...the more I think about it, the more...I realize I don't want it...with you."

Kaveh Begs, on his knees, tears in his eyes, begs with every ounce of willpower in his body. Don't leave him don't leave their child don't walk out that door and pretend he didn't matter, it mattered, didn't it? What they had was something, he was something, right?

Sethos It should have been a happy time, they should have been rejoicing, celebrating their growing family. Instead, he's left alone, staring into the fire and questioning if Y/N had ever loved him at all.

Tighnari Had half a mind to run off into the forest and never come back. He feels stupid, used. How could he have fallen for this? How did he miss the signs? The happiness of a child had been ripped out from his fingers before the day was up, and now he was left alone, to pick up the pieces.

Wanderer Angry, burning to his core. The one time he opens himself up, let himself feel something, he's crushed to pieces and left with a reminder growing inside of his womb.

Fontain

Freminet Doesn't cry. There's no emotion on his face at all, only the slight trembling on his hands to alert to his feelings. "I love you but I'm not in love with you..."

Lyney Shattered. This was supposed to be his second chance, a family to love and protect. They were going to be together, forever, he had it planned out, for the first time in his life Lyney was certain he was safe and stable..and now it's been pulled out from under him.

Neuvillette Gutted. The streets are flooded for weeks as he grapples with the reality of whats going on. He feels foolish for not seeing the issues building, and when Y/N walks away, he feels he's the cause of all their issues.

Wrio Expects it. He knows they were just a fling, even if deep down, he wanted so much more. They would be leaving the prison in less than a month, and, well, he would never be. It wasn't fair to ask them to leave their life in Fontain behind to raise a child in the prison with him.

This is the monthly revenue from every popular gacha game. While ZZZ has made about a billion dollars Genshin has LOST NEARLY HALF of its profits since June.

Same thing with HSR they went from almost 1 billion in June to less a 1/3 when July came.

Now before anyone comes here and say "well because everyone is so focus on ZZZ that of course no one is going to play Genshin and HSR" I would like to remind everyone Genshin main problem is that Hoyoverse is not creating anything NEW Game Modes other than events to grind primogems. Many Player have expressed their lack of new gameplay, having better End game content or trying to have more ways to be F2P because with every new region you are less likely to find primogems.

It's also doesn't help Hoyoverse choose to have 3D animation in mutiple server games. That alone is expensive to maintain along with budgets and paying workers.

This is similar to what happen to Rooster Teeth while RWBY was popular the company made poor finicial decisions had to make cuts in order to maintain the show. However in the end of the day it was not considered profitable and could not keep up with the animation cost.

Also I just need to vent because holy hell, Ayaka's character quest lasts forever, is slapped onto your wrist as mandatory completion to advance the main plot, and goes nowhere.

The problem with Ayaka's character quest is that she feels like an intensely underbaked character... but only because it drags on for so long. Like. She seems nice. She's a softspoken nice girl who's never had a friend before in her life.

She has. You're introduced to her friends literally one quest before her mandatory character quest. But for the duration of this quest we're going to pretend she's never had a friend before, because that's part of the quest's savior appeal. Never before Aether Lumine has she ever had a friend, but now that Aether Lumine is here, she can experience friendship for the first time in her life.

And also she's very nice.

The main character trait this story centers around is that her wealth and privilege alienates her from people. As you progress, you learn about how her wealth and privilege alienates her from people. And also about how her wealth and privilege alienates her from people.

Except her friends one and only friend Aether Lumine, who they also occasionally suggest she's kind of into and wants to do the romance on him her? I don't want to make too big a thing out of that because quasi-shippy moments are a staple of all of Genshin's character missions. The game has a reputation for waifu/husbando bait for a reason. Practically every character is like this in some way.

But it just. Goes on like this.

Ayaka: My wealth has always alienated me from people. Ayaka: But I'm glad to be your friend. Vendor: Yeah, Ayaka's wealth has always alienated her from people. Ayaka: It's a shame that my wealth. Ayaka: It alienates me from people. Vendor: I'm glad she finally has another her very first friend, because her wealth alienates her from people. Ayaka: I just learned about my mom. Did you know, Aether Lumine? Ayaka: My mom. Ayaka: Her wealth alienated her from people. Ayaka: Sometimes I think I understand how that feels. Ayaka: When your wealth alienates you from people. Vendor: Hey, Ayaka! You're so alienated from people by your wealth! Ayaka: I know. It's a pity. Ayaka: That my wealth alienates me from people. Ayaka: But now I have you. My friend only friend Aether Lumine. Ayaka: Who is not alienated by my wealth.

Like. I get it. I get that this is one of her character traits. It'd be cool if she had more of those.

Ayaka's quest is the first time in Genshin I've ever started skipping through dialogue. It just goes on and. Like. I get it. I've seen Aladdin. I know who Princess Jasmine is. What else does she have?

I don't think Ayaka is a bad character. She just needs more fleshing out. Hopefully, she gets it later in the game. I just think this was a terrible way to introduce her to an audience. They really hedged all their bets on "rich girl alienated from the common people" being in-and-of-itself captivating enough to comprise about 2 hours of character writing.

And my proof that it's just a bad quest, not a bad character, is that she gets better character writing within the quest. The part where she beat up bandits and helped immigrants get their stuff back? That was great. Loved that.

We see that she's inquisitive and compassionate towards the foreign merchants, but there's also a really interesting moment where the merchant vents about Inazuma's oppressive treatment of migrants, and Ayaka snaps at him for disrespecting her culture.

Like. Ayaka is literally part of a resistance movement against the oppressive regime in Inazuma, but she still reflexively verbal-slaps this foreigner for talking shit about it. Because even as a rebel, she is still a product of her culture and carries some of the pride and prejudices therein. She has that ingrained reflex of "I can talk shit about my country but if you do it then there's going to be a fight."

But she nonetheless cares about the foreign merchants and wants them treated fairly, even to the point of taking their side against the Inazuma locals targeting them and then refusing reward. Which, because she snapped earlier, ends up feeling not like a natural product of her niceness but instead like a deliberate effort she is making to overcome the conditioned prejudices she was taught.

That is an interesting character. I want to see more of this person and her relationship to the cultural situation in Inazuma.

But there isn't more. Right after that, we go back to alienated by her wealth, alienated by her wealth, alienated by her wealth, alienated by her wealth, alienated by her wealth, my new friend one and only friend Aether Lumine, alienated by her wealth, and alienated by her wealth.

I just. Don't understand why you would spend so much time on this, and only briefly touch on that.

We lie on our backs, the earth we lie on cold and bitter from the winter, but it doesn’t compare to the warmth of your hand in mine. 

I can hear your breaths against my own; I see them too, forming in clouds, much like what children used to think were the breaths of dragons at a time of such imagination.

I’d never had such thoughts as a child. 

“You know, when I was a child, and I'm sure lots of people did this too, but I used to pretend I was a dragon…”

They start to cry and inside, I am too. The younger me inside is crying because of loss. And the older me is crying too.

“Will you…come back?”

RAHHHH TYSM FOR ASNWERING MY PREVIOUS QUESTION!

So. I had 3 problems-

1. Constant study but no results

>I make sure I atleast spend 2 hours atleast twice a week doing full body or partial body sketches with references (from lineofaction🔥), and have been since 2021, but going from barely any art ability to now, all i've managed to do is drawing things from the neck up☠️ No matter how many different kinds of faces or perspectives i try its always the 3/4 side view. And i can barely even draw a recognizable jawline😭 (but then on any whiteboard or public art thing its as if the spirit of a medieval master artist possesses me)

2. motivation

>how on this earth do you stay motivated to draw your favorite fandoms😭 theres tons of shows i LOVE or games that I adore, whos characters i literally am obsessed with, but once i pick up a pencil its as if I've never seen them in my entire life💀

3. I know youre not really an oc artist (understandable, if I had the ability to draw genshin and/or persona characters forever, i WOULD.) But if you do have any, is there any specific place you got inspo from? a lot of art advice i see is to turn an object or concept into a character of some sort, but no matter where I look, and how inspiring it is, as previously stated, all traces of muscle memory delete themselves the second i pick up a pencil☠️

1 - maybe doing some theory rather than drawing could help you, if you study the human skeleton and muscle you might understand more how the body works and therefore how it must look in different poses (read MORPHO). Other advice is to trace your references with basic shapes and landmark (just a cube and a cross for the face) and then do your study, you can also do quick studies focusing on only one part of the body but draw it under all angles (the thing is to not rush, if you have trouble drawing the face as a whole, draw all the element separated and add them little by little)

2 - this honestly depends on the person, im someone who loves fandom art but i have zero OCs because im not interested, dont force yourself to draw things you dont want too it usually ends up looking bad anyway !

3 - i do look at objects first when doing character design, but i also like to look at plants or in fashion history books. Most of the time i first do a global search on pinterest to find the general idea and then go to more specific sites depending on what im going for

i think you should take your time and draw only when you're in the mood for it, when you feel motivated pick up a pen and DONT THINK just draw whatever

remember art takes time, patience and a lot of practice, dont force yourself and draw for yourself first ^^
