Hot Take: If you're going to take on a Kickstarter/GoFundMe/ANY sort of fundraising for an indie project you're working on, you should have some sort of active proof-of-concept/working demo available for people to engage with, ESPECIALLY if it's an indie game.
#you can make a good trailer! but i feel (personally) there should be at least a short demo available for people to play#before they decide to put money into a game they don't know is actually in development or not#i've seen WAY too many fake trailers come out for games that never see the light of day#having a demo is a good way to show people that you're passionate about what you're working on#and that you're ACTIVELY making progress on the project even Before it's fully funded#i'm sorry that this reads like a twitter thread i don't use twitter#so i just vent/ramble in the tags (as you do)#this is coming off of watching the KS trailer for Pinata Puppy World#which looks like a really fun concept!#but there's no demo as of rn#just a trailer and people in the KS video talking about making the game#which is fine! i just wished there was something for people to Try Out before they put money INTO the KS
