#The Principle of Moments#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#this started off pretty good - interesting characters and worldbuilding; easy to read#but it felt like a bit too much was going on and I kinda checked out from the last third and didnât care anymore.#It felt very much like the plot was just happening to the characters and they didnât have much effect on it all.#Itâs very classic space opera chosen one story! itâs fun and ambitious! a lot of doctor who vibes -#but also like if you tried to fit the entirety of timelord lore into one or two episodes haha.#It also had a couple classic space opera pitfalls.. like how this evil alien race was described as looking evil (in various ways). hm.#I actually really loved the writing style of the excerpt snippets in the beginning and would have been keen for most of it to be like that.#but also probably with the book being shorter.#thereâs humor thrown in there that was sometimes funny but also sometimes awkward.#The time travelers speak very modern (despite none of it being set in the present) which like - obviously anachronism is gonna be inherent#to time travelers but sometimes it felt awkward. or like.. the other characters didnât comment on it?#There were a couple moments that felt like a tv script gag that just came across badly on the page#gay prince romance was cute but kinda was thrown in the deep end then itâs barely relevant for most of the story.#The whole london subplot felt unneccesary. Burnt Out: Chapter Four

Warning: Abuse, Drug Use(Weed, Nothing Serious), Implied Sexual ContentÂ
You opened the door of your apartment and walked inside. As you stepped in and shut the door behind you, you heard the sound of Ryuji's voice fill your ears. "About time you got back." You hold back a sigh before speaking. "My last guy talked my ear off and wouldn't let me leave." You try to explain without giving too much away. "I don't want to hear your fucking excuses. You know what time you're suppose to be back. Now, how much did you make tonight?" Ryuji asks. You take the money out that you collected tonight. Thanks to Dabi, it was much more than you should have made. Ryuji raises an eyebrow before smirking. "You get with a hero tonight?" You nod your head. "Yeah, he gave me more than he should have." You lie.
"Well, if you keep meeting guys like that, your debt to me will be paid off in no time." Says Ryuji, though you were doubtful. There was no girl of his alive that was able to pay him back. You would be no different. Ryuji takes the money from you and pocketed it before heading for the door. "I expect rent to be paid by the end of the week, got it?" You turn to face him. "About that. I...I thought maybe that extra money that I made tonight could go towards my rent?" Ryuji turns back to you, a slight frown on his face. "And why would you think that?"Â
"Well, I mean, I just don't have enough to pay this month's rent. So, couldn't that extra bit pay some of it off? It would really help. Besides, the money is going to you anyway. It shouldn't matter-"
Ryuji cut you off with the sharp spit of your name. You immediately go quiet. "For fucks sake, I made sure you got a decent place to live for not that much money in return. And you're saying you can't pay rent this month?" He continues as he takes a slight step in your direction. "You taking my kindness for granted again? Is that what this is?"Â
"No, it's not. I just-"
"That's exactly what it is. You see, that's the problem with you and every other bitch that works for me. You take, and take, and fucking take some more!" Ryuji yells, making you flinch. You back away as he gets closer to you. "I ask very little from you, all I want is for you to look pretty and keep that cash flowing. Is that really to much to fucking ask for!?"Â
"N-No!" Your voice cracks. "I just, I can't pay it off this month I-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Ryuji grabs your wrist and pulls you close to him. You wince as you felt his iron tight grip on your wrist. "So tell me, why the fuck can't you pay it this month? You've paid it off every other month? What the fuck is so different now!?" You didn't know what came over you, but you said something that you would surely regret after.Â
"Because I can't pay the rent and pay my debt off to you at the same time! Especially since you keep raising my debt!"Â
You raised your voice at him. You knew better. Everyone knew better. As soon as you finished saying it, your heart dropped. The look on Ryuji's face was enough to send a chill down your spine. Before you could apologize, you felt his hand across your face. The blow was enough to knock you down to the ground. The pain was quick to follow. There was a throbbing sensation in your cheek. Ryuji towered over you. "When did you get the nerve to speak to me like that? Huh?" He reached down and yanked your head up by the roots of your hair. You cry out in pain and reach up at his wrist, trying to pull his hand away.
Another mistake. Ryuji delivered a swift kick to your gut, knocking you back. Since he was holding onto your hair, he took a few strands of it as you were kicked away. You coughed and wheezed roughly as you clutched your stomach. Tears poured out of your eyes, you could hear him walking towards you. You whined and pleaded for him to stop, but he wouldn't.Â
He never does.Â
He grabbed you by your shirt collar and yanked you up onto your feet, if he wasn't keeping you in his grasp, you would have fell right back down. "Don't you ever talk to me like that again." He says lowly. "Understand?" You nod, a choked sob leaving you. You slurred out a pitiful "I'm sorry" before he lets go of you, you fall to your knees. Ryuji sighs heavily as he runs his hand through his hair. "You know, I don't like having to do this. But you've got to learn, one way or another. You're my favorite girl, and it pains me to have to keep reminding you to behave." He continues. "I'm a fair man. If you really can't pay rent. I can think of another way you can make up for it." You don't say a word, only whines and sniffling came from you.Â
You knew what he was talking about. Anytime you had struggles paying him back, he would think of alternative ways of payment. You hated it every time, but hell, you might as well get use to it. It's your job after all. "Pull yourself together." Ryuji tells you. "You know I hate it when you cry." He says with fake gentleness. He reaches a hand down, offering it to you. You flinch away at first, but slowly take hold of his hand. He helps you to stand before cupping your sore cheek with his free hand. You wince. "Oh, baby, why do you make me do it?" He sighs.Â
"I'm...I'm sorry." You whimper. "Don't be sorry, be better." He tells you before pulling you close in a hug. "Now, let's forget this all happened? Ok? I'm gonna make all that pain go away." You nod, blinking away a few tears. Next the thing you knew, he was leading you to your bedroom.Â
You look out of the window. It was a pretty night tonight, the stars were shining bright, the moon was full. It sent a calming light into your bedroom. You felt a bit colder than usual, but that was because your heater started to fuck up. And...you were naked of course. Your body covered in bruises and scratches, you ached, you felt sick. You always felt like this after nights like these. Nights with him...always ended like this. With you in pain, and with him always getting dressed to leave you all alone. But, you wanted to be alone right now.Â
"Considered your rent paid off sweet thing." Ryuji says with a smirk after he finishes getting dressed. "But don't think you can get off free like this every month." He begins to walk out of the door. "Oh and one more thing." He turns his head slightly to face you. "Don't you ever be late getting back here again. Got it?" Wordlessly, you nod your head. "Good. See you around sweet thing." Ryuji says before leaving finally.Â
You sigh shakily before getting out of bed, you wince at the ache in your body. Ryuji was all but gentle. That's for damn sure. You slowly drag yourself to your bathroom to clean yourself up. You looked into the mirror. Your face was already bruised from the hit you took earlier. You look down at your stomach, a bigger bruise there. You weren't too worried about what others would think about this. The people you see wouldn't care as long as they got a good fuck. The other girls had bruises themselves. And it's not like anyone else would care to ask if you were ok, not in this part of the city at least.Â
After you finish washing off you went back to your bedroom. You walked over to your nightstand table and opened the drawer. You pulled out a joint and lighter then sat down on your bed. You lit the joint and took a few puffs. This usually helped you relax after a tough night, but, tonight was very different. You saw your dead best friend for the first time in two years, and he turned out to be a villain with a self harming quirk. He looked nothing like his old self, not one bit. The only thing that stayed the same about him was his eyes.Â
You've always loved his eyes. You even told him how jealous you were and wished you had pretty eyes like his back then. There was always so much life in his eyes, and now, there was nothing. Like, any ounce of joy and hope was drained from him. You couldn't help but wonder, what had happed to him before he "died" that day. It must have been something pretty fucked up to have made him turn out the way he did.Â
You finished off the joint, and still didn't feel relaxed. Sleeping wouldn't help much either, Dabi still flooded your mind. Another ache hit you, this time inside of your chest. You shut you eyes tightly and try to block out any thoughts of him. But, it would not work.Â
You wanted to see him again.

my guitar is slightly out of tune, but iâm eternally yours.
[reuploaded and revised from my old blog.]
â prompt: you have a terminal illness but you have a chance with treatment but you deny it, then you meet wanda and you feel alive again.
â warnings: kinda angsty, but worth the read :>.
requests are always open!
masterlist
ââŽâ*âââŽâââ*. â
âOhââ was all you managed to say. âI recommend we start radiation treatments-â You zoned out and watched your feet dangle from the edge of the exam table. Was this it? Was this really all there was for you? It seemed hopeless to even do anything at this point. You figured if this was affecting you again, it was for a reason.Â
"No. I don't want treatment." The doctor looked at you and his gaze faltered. "You do understand that if you refuse treatment this will inevitably kill you?" You nodded. The words felt empty, they carried no weight behind them anymore. Nonetheless, the doctor continued to try and persuade you.Â
"I said I don't want the treatment. I'm refusing medical advice. I don't want to have to go through this again, it's obviously not going away. Now where the hell do I sign the papers?" You exasperated. The doctor gave you one last look before getting the papers for you to embark your signature on.
âYouâre one-hundred percent sure about this?â
You shrugged your shoulders, âI've got nothin' left for me here anyways. Might as well just let nature take its course.â
"Well surely you've got someone, a friend maybe?" You shook your head.
"Nope." You replied, popping the P at the end. The doctor seemed to finally grasp the situation when you handed the papers back to him as if you were turning in a job application.
He pursed his lips, "I'm going to give prescribe medication for the pain. Based on the size of the tumor I'd say you have about eight months to live, but only about half of those months will be enjoyable." You nodded your head in reply and gathered your stuff together.Â
So how were you going to spend your last months on earth? That was the question you asked yourself. You walked out of the building and found yourself in a coffee shop. It was busy, but you found yourself a seat next to a window in the back of the shop. Your eyes gazed out the window as you pondered your question from earlier.
'I could move to New York and see broadway shows I've never wanted to see'
'There's always casinosâ'
'âOr what about splurging your money on dumb things that you'll quite literally never need?'
You laughed at your thoughts. You made up your mind right there, you were going to live the rest of your life just the way it was. Itâd be easier that way. You didn't have friends, no longer had parents, so it's not like anyone would really miss you really. All you had was your pet cat and your guitar. And truth be told, that's all you needed.Â
Coffee.
"Hello?" You snapped out of your gaze to see a beautiful brunette standing in front of you. The second thing you noticed was her accent, you'd never heard it before. âI was wondering if this seat was taken?â She softly smiled at you. You returned the gesture and shook your head no. "The place is cram packed and you seemed trustworthy. I hope I'm not disturbing you or anything, you seemed to be pretty deep in thought." The young woman blushed a crimson color, "I'm sorry I probably seem weird or something, I'll go."
Normally you would have cared, but at this point in time you didn't mind the company. So, with the slightest bit of hesitation, you called out for her.
âWait! Itâs fine, donât worry. I-Iâm all alone.â The womanâs smile widened as she took a seat across from you. âThanks. I'm Wanda, what's your name?â
"Y/N."Â
"Y/N..." She flexed your name on her tongue, "That's a beautiful name."
"I'm stuck with it for life, so I sure hope it's at least a decent name." You narrowed your eyes at her as you joked. A giggle escaped the gap between her lips, causing a small flutter to emit in your stomach.
"So what do you do?" She asked, intrigued by your presence.
"Well I do a lot of things, I walk, I talk, I breathe-"
"Oh shut up! You know what I meant." Wandaâs eyes gleamed with friendliness and warmth. She seemed like the type you'd be friends with if you weren't dying. "Okay, okay, I play guitar and sing while my cat eats her food." Wanda's eyes lit up at the mention of a cat.Â
"You have a cat? What's her name?" Her elbows were propped up on the table with her head resting in her hands, showing just how actually interested she was in you.
âHer name is Nala. You know, from The Lion King?â
Wandaâs brows furrowed together. Sheâd never seen The Lion King, much less heard of it.
Your jaw dropped at her confusion. âYou mean to tell me youâve never seen The Lion King?â
âIâm Sokovian, what do you expect?âÂ
âAhh, I see. Well, do you at least have any pets?â
"My apartment doesn't allow pets."
"So? Sneak one in." You replied nonchalantly, crushing ice between your teeth. Wanda looked at you in shock. "No way! Knowing me I'd get my ass caught on the first day." You shrugged in reply and the conversation quickly went dead.
Wanda checked her phone, moving abruptly to get up from her seat. "I'm so sorry, I have to go now. I'll see you around, okay?"
âSure.â
After another half hour of waiting on nothing and thinking about everything, you finally decided it was time to leave. A feeling of regret washed over you. The woman was kind, very friendly, something that you craved.
But you couldnât allow yourself these things now, especially given the direction you were heading.
_____
Over the next few weeks you'd spent your time songwriting, journaling and a midst of other lonely, boring things. Sometimes you'd catch yourself thinking about the woman in the coffee shop, but you tended not to dwell too much on the past.Â
You thought about your tumor and all the different ways it was growing inside you. It grossed you out more than anything, but you weren't afraid. At least not now you weren't.Â
A heavy sigh slipped from your lips, and the sudden urge to go to the park overtook the need to do anything else. Youâd never really visited the park in your area before, so you decided now was the time.Â
The beige acoustic guitar rest heavily on your shoulders, similarly to the weight of the world. It was bitter, no taste of sweetness was left over in the aftermath.
Leaves crunched under your feet as you made your way into the park. The smell of pine and bark surrounded you, just as the pinch of cold air that struck your face. It was tranquil.
You marched your way over to a nearby tree secluded from everyone else. Setting your guitar down, you nested cozily against the wood. Your journal rest aside your hip as did the pen that exchanged your thoughts into words.
Humming quietly, your fingertips grazed the instrumentâs delicate strings. Music filled the air around you, but it came to a quick stop nearly ten minutes after youâd begun.
"Hey, I know you. Y/N, right?" You heard a familiar accented voice behind you. You turned around to find Wand standing above you. "Uh yeah, that's me. What's up?" She sat down beside you, making you a little uncomfortable, but you figured you could deal with it for the sake of being nice.Â
"Nothing. I just saw you and thought Iâd say hi. What about you? I see you have your guitar."
âJust singing,â you mumbled quietly.
She smiled and pushed a strand of hair out of your face that was blown in from the wind. "Youâre really pretty." You bit your lip and you could feel the heat rise to you face. "Thanks."
"Mhm. So last time I didn't get your number, maybe I will this time?" She asked (although her eyes were begging). You couldnât help but feel something while she bit her lip, her doe eyes unintentionally focusing on your lips.
"I'll have to give you mine, I didn't bring my phone with me â donât use it much." You replied. She handed her phone to you and you typed your number in.
"Do you not have family or friends you keep up with?" Her brow quirked in curiosity.
"Parents died, no siblings, and no friends. I don't have many people to worry about."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"It's fine, I don't mind." She looked down in her lap before asking another question. "What about a job? Do you work?" Wanda was definitely a curious one, but each question she asked carried you in a way youâd never felt before. It was refreshing to have someone interested in you, and not your disease.Â
"Nope, when my parents died they left all their life savings to me. It's plenty enough for me to live on." Your fingers began lightly playing the chords of a song. It was often that you unknowingly played when you were scared or nervous. You'd only realize afterwards.Â
"That's goodâ not that your parents died, but you know, you have money and stuff. Even if it'sâ oh my god- "Â
You cracked out a laugh, causing her to look at you in terror. Noticing this, you rest a hand on her shoulder. "Wanda, it's okay. You're fine, I know what you mean." She nodded shyly and looked up to the sky.Â
"Hey, it's sunset! I love sunsets, I used to watch them all the time with my brother back in Sokovia." Her voice wavered at the end of her sentence, and you easily picked up on it.
"Something wrong?" You asked. She laid her head on your lap and you stiffened, but quickly relaxed. This is fine. This is okay. You set your guitar aside and began to play with her hair.
"I miss him. Pietro..." She paused for a second before continuing. "He died a couple of years ago from cancer." You felt your heart drop for the first time at the mention of the horrid disease that stripped you away from most of your life. "Oh." The word seemed to become your go-to for whenever you didn't know how to accept information you were given.
"He was the other half of me. We were twins, I felt like my whole world fell apart. After he died I moved out of my country and moved here. Since then I've made some good friends. You might like them."Â
âIâm sorry about your brother. Iâm sure he was wonderful, Wanda.â You whispered, bringing a piece of her hair to the end of a braid. âI'm happy you've made some friends." Wanda nodded and snuggled closer in your lap. "Maybe I can be your friend?" You gave it a thought. You weren't sure you could do that to her, not with your illness anyway. Guilt nawed at you already. Sheâd already lost someone so beloved and close to her from it, how awful you began to feel if you had to put her through that again.
"Y/N?"
You stared at her for a few moments before answering. "I don't know, maybe." She turned over to face you, but you avoided her gaze. "I'm going to figure you out you know." You stifled a laugh, "And you'll be sorry you ever did."
"Whatever."
____
Four months passed and you thought they would be empty, meaningless months, but with Wanda nuzzling her way into your life you began to feel alive for the first time. When she came around it was like a switch you couldn't turn off.Â
Right now, you sat at your desk strumming your guitar while watching Nala play with a toy dinosaur youâd bought her just weeks ago. This life was good too, you thought. But it was lonely.
You weren't quite sure what Wanda meant to you yet, but you were slowly discovering that whatever the two of you had, blossomed into something more each second you spent together.
Popping a Vicodin in your mouth, your phone buzzed. It would be no one else but Wanda.
be there in a few, it's urgent.Â
Panic set in your body as you worried for the safety of your friend. What could possibly be the matter? Normally Wanda talked about what was bothering her.
A knock at your door brought you out of your gaze and you stumbled to answer it. Wanda was distressed, her hair a mess and her eyes red.
âWhats wro-â You were cut off By Wanda smashing her lips onto yours.Â
She pulled back in shock. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I-"
You shut her up by pushing her into the wall, door closing behind you. Her lips tasted of strawberry and her hands began to roam your body.
One thing led to another and you both ended up naked on your bed. How amazing it must be to wake up and know that you wonât be dead in the next few months.
"You're good. Almost too good. Where did you learn all that from having no friends?" She smirked at you. You gave her a smile and kissed her again. Your arms wrapped around her nude body and together you felt the utter bliss and excitement radiating from one another.
. . . .Â
Three weeks later yoy began to shake. It was hardly noticeable, and it just so happened to occur when you were playing
Itâs downhill from here and you know that.
"Can you fix it? Can you fix this?" You yelled at him, despite knowing it was all your fault. If you would've just taken the treatments you wouldn't be in this place. But back then your life had no real meaning, it was just you and your cat.
You hadn't planned on falling in love with someone.Â
"There's nothing I can do now. Treatments won't work, it's too far gone. I'm surprised it took this long to start showing symptoms."
For the first time in years, you felt tears beginning to build in your eyes. "You don't understand, I love her and now I'm just going to leave her? This can't be happening, you have to do something!" You pleaded, but the doctorâs eyes were solemn, giving you the only reply you needed.Â
You stormed out of the hospital and made your way to Wanda. Silence rang through your ears.
Tell her. You have to tell her.
It will be over.
Sobs wrecked your body as you fumbled with the keys to your shared apartment. The door opened to a sight you wanted to live forever.
There she was, perched on the couch while massaging Napaâs scruffy fur. She was content, happy, and here you were to ruin it.
"Y/N? Baby what's wrong?" She got up from her spot and rushed over to you, worry etched on her face. You clung onto her for more life than you had left. And god, You weren't scared before, but you sure as hell were now.Â
"I have terminal cancer."
Wanda froze.
"That's not funny, Y/N. You know how I feel about this topic." Her glare was hasty, burning into your skin.
"I was diagnosed almost five months ago, please Wanda you have to believe me. I have tremors, don't you see?" You raised your hand up to show her, but she slapped it away. "You're making yourself do that, Y/N. Stop joking, or I'm leaving." She crossed her arms
"W-What?" Your chest tightened.
"I said stop joking."
"I'm not joking, Wanda!"
"I'm leaving," She huffed, snatching her jacket before slamming the door shut.
And it was true, she did leave. However, Wanda didn't leave for the reasons she gave you.
She loved you, but she couldnât handle another loss like this.
. . . .Â
During the next two months you experienced the most heartache you'd ever felt before. The combination of vomiting, body aches, and dizziness didn't help. If anything, it made it worse. You missed Wanda. Everything about her gave you a reason to live.
You were on your seventh month and the pain was unbearable. It hurt to reach out for a cup of water, your hands shook uncontrollably all while sending jolts of scorching pain throughout the entirety of your arm.
Undoubtedly, the hospital bed became your next best friend (although it was the worst one youâd ever had. But it somehow managed to weasel its way back in your life).
Wanda was nowhere to be seen, and if anything that only progressed your disease. The only thing that kept you sane was your guitar, and the fact that Nala was being taken care of by a sweet, old nurse (who sometimes snuck her in so you could see her).
It was about the small things now.Â
More days passed and each one was getting worse. By now you just wanted to end it all on your own, but you were physically too weak to do that.
There was a knock on your door, but you ignored it thinking it was just another nurse. "Y/N?" The voice was soft, it felt like it'd been years since you last heard it. You turned your head slightly to see Wanda standing in the doorway. A weak smile formed on your face.
"Hey you."Â
Wanda quickly dropped her things and ran to your side. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She mumbled over and over again as you calmly stroked her hair.
"It's okay, you know it is." You whispered in her ear. She looked up at you and shook her head, "But it's not okay, I left you when you needed me the most." You stared at her adoringly and the tips of your fingers gently rubbed away the tears from her face. "But I'm still here, aren't I?" She laughed through her cries, "Yeah... you're still here."
Both of you knew you didn't have much time left, but you ignored that other than the fact that you made her promise to take care of Nala when you were gone. She held your hand and got you everything you needed.
And you love her so deeply for that.
One night you had the feeling that your time was coming soon, so you woke Wanda up from her sleep. "Sweetheart?" She stirred a little before finally sitting up.Â
"Yeah?"
"Hand me my guitar?" She tilted her head, "But your shakes?" You ignored her and asked for it again.Â
When she handed you your beloved guitar you took it with grace. "Come help me, I wanna play a song." She nodded and came to your side.
Your fingers struggled as they strummed the delicate strings on the instrument. You picked one of Wanda's favorite, and when you were done you spoke lightly.
"My guitar is slightly out of tune, but I'm eternally yours."

Back to the old days
He groaned at only feeling empty and cold sheets beneath his hand when it went it seatch for another body that was suppose to be cuddling with him... man doesn't even have a break on this life and now his songbird couldn't even stay in bed with him...
Stretching his arms up, he hummed at the pooping sound his neck and arms did when he was stretching. Today was the start of the heavenly one week of vacation the hero comission offered for him to take it. And he brabbed the chance with a smirk and almost broke the window of his agency due to how fast he wanted to get home. Get to you.
He looked at a little sticky note you had left, warning him you had to get out for groceries but would soon be back and promissing to bring some chicken even.
"What a angel I have ladies and gemtlemans..." he sighed before plopping back face down on the bed.
But he sadly couldn't fall back asleep so he had to push his lazy ass out of his bed and walk to the kicthen to at least have the decenty to drink the rest of the carton of milk.
Funny thing that the more he walked, his place was getting bigger and bigger for some reason. He shrugged off as being his slowly mind still processing and went to the fridge...
Only to see that he had to stood on his tip toes to get to open it.
"Huh?" He hummed and gasped at childish sound it came instead of his normal voice. Cupping his mouth in the process.
He slowly took off his hands from his mouth and brought to his vision to not see his normal hands, the ones whose carried scars from his battles and feel co cois about it before you washed them off.
No no. It was baby hands right there. BABY HANDS, NOT GROW ASS MAN HANDS.
"He.. hehe... " he giggled desperate before slapping his own face before wincing.
That was not a dream....
He started to shake just a bit but got the strenght enough to open his wings and fly until a neat mirror of his two-story apartment just to confirm this was a nightmare or not.
.
.
.
You hummed a song while carrying the bags, stopping in front of the door to get your keys until a high pitched scream left you to wince and drop your groceries.
You opened the door and found a blond little boy looking in horror at the mirror. Vermillion wings wide open as the golden eyed kid grasped on his looks and pushed just slightly... wait. He was way too much familiar.
"K-...K-Keigo?" You sluttered and the boy gasped when he noticed you entered. Groceries forgotten and dropped on the ground.
"N-No.. dont look at me. Dont!" He went to fly and stood at the heigh of the ceiling as you entered and look up at the blond boy covering half of his face.
"What happened?!" You exclaimed and soon guards of the hero comission entered your flat.
"NO! GET OUT! BOTH OF YOH GET OUT!" He shouted in ager as the two body guards mistaken him with a normal child and went to get to him.
"Is Hawks!" You grasped onto one of the bodyguards shoulders as they widened their eyes beneath their sunglasses.
"Hawks sir?! What happened?!"
"G-Get out now!" Tears started to form on his eyes as he rubbed them "I DONT WANT TO SEE ANYONE OF THE HERO COMISSION ENTERING HERE!" he shouted and flew to the room, banging the door loudly as you blinked in shock.
"Please. I will text you guys when to come back, but while that, please serach for a cure or something for him." You spoke gently as one bodyguard grabbed your groceries and you went upright calling your boyfriend, now in a body of a child, name.
"Keigo?" You knocked softly to be met with silence "Handsome they are gone already, talk to me? Please?" You forced a pout as you heard his voice muffled.
"Spare yourself dove. I dont want you seing me... like this."
"But is the man I love there." You said softly and desperate for him to open up "No matter what, Keigo I dont mind and you shouldn't mind either. Maybe it was a quirk from yesterday you were hit and it will be gone in one or two days... please let me in? Werent we suppose to stick together this whole week?" You smiled when you heard the door clicking and Takami hesitantly, yet with eyes to the floor as he opened the door to reveal his childish form, clothes hanging on which fir into adult Hawks into perfection.
"You do have a way with words, don't you love?" He mumbled as you kneeled fo be on a decent eye level with him.
"Had to learn since I have a snarky boyfriend." You giggled and he let out a chuckle, still not looking at you until you cupped his cheeks on your hands.
"We're going to figure it out Keigo, and we will enjoy the week like you told me okay?"
You swore you almost went to a panick attack when you saw the sign of tears on your boyfriend's eyes despite them being wide open.
"K-keigo I'm sorry! I didn't meant for you to cry!"
"Is not me! IS THSI BODY DAMMIT!" he sobbed before succumbing to crying as he searched for a hug as you only could gulp and hug your boyfriend back.
.
.
.
"The viÄșlain you thought yesterday maybe was the cause Hawks." The man spoke nonchantly as you nibbled on your bottom lip as Hawks glared at them. "Since searching for a cure will leave you on a state to not work, we discovered it will cure by itself on a matter of one week."
You didn't like it one bit the way Keigo clenched hsi hands on the couch beside you as his feathers ruffled.
"Better for us even to say that it wont even cost your reputation. Imagine this, "the second pro hero turned into a child". It will hit Negatively on Hawks agency."
"Precisely."
The two man in tuxedo discussed before Keigo got uo and you called his name worriedly before he only clapped his hands with a smirk. One anyone would buy that he was chill... but you knew him better.
He was furious.
"Well, lucky that I got this weekend eh? Too bad I can't take my girlfriend out but anyway glad to see ya! But is time for all of you to get the fuck out of my apartment." He showed the door to the males as you and them widened your eyes at him cursing and the threatening tone he uses it even with a childish voice.
"Hawks, language and-"
"Listen here." Hawks's smiled creepily as one vein almost popped "I am cleary not having a good day so I would LOVE for you fuckers to get out."
They signed and gave you a expecting look. One that made you grimace like they were dealing with a animal and thing which you had to control it for them. Hawks was not the only one who felt trapped. When they discovered you two were dating, it was their mission to make Hawks's life a living hell... until they saw how well the public had take your guys relationship and decide sto remain on that.
Hawks gave a also fake smile before slamming the door shut. Slumping and having his two arms to support him as he hinged his head low.
"Keigo..." you cooes before coming close to him as he only breathed in and out slowly before speaking in a teary voice.
"I just wanted to make you happy... have time with you but this had to happen and they cant e-even h-he-" a sob escaped and he made a effort to gulp it down until he felt your arms around him before he turned around to bury his face on the crook of your neck.
"Its okay. Keigo you already make me soo happy. Corny jokes, you being a lovable jerk and all... we can still have fun." You spoke softly as he breathed in and out and clenched on your shirt as his feathers form his wings slowly ease down as you petted both his hair and them.
"How...?"
"We can still do a bunch of things." He mumbled something in your neck before you pulled back "What was that?"
"Not one thing we can do that we both were looking forward to it."
"Eh?" Your boyfriend only deadpanned at you before mumbling back what you two were thinking with a faint blush.
"We can't be... intimate."
"We can still cuddle Kei and also-"
"In bed (Y/n)." He gave you a knowing look and realization hitted you finally.
"Out of all things you were throwing a fuss becaus eof that?!" You yelped in utter embarrassing as Keigo opened his arms wide open.
"YOU ASKED FOR IT!"
.
.
.
"Why you're so grumpy baby?" You giggled at the loom of his face when he climbed the bed and stared at you laying down as well.
"Why? Because you will take aadvantage of this and not let me be the big spoon."
"You guessed right my handsome." You blinked at him and he cuffed cutely before you opened your arms to him "Cmon~ you cant deny that you always liked to sleep with your head on my chest."
"Is different." He mumbled but still hot into your embrace, sighing heavenly when he met your warmth as he nuzzled on you.
"Comfy?" You yawned as he nodded, smilling you closed your eyes and fell asleep while petting his hair.
.
.
.
On the other day you woke up before Keigo and went to make some breakfast until you heard footsteps and whinning.
"Babe..." he whined, still sleepy as you try your best to not have am overload of cuteness at seing child Keigo with morning hair and yawning cutely.
"Hey birdbrain. Good morning." You returned your attention to the eggs and soon felt a little press on your forehead and more whining as he tried to hug you. "What now you big baby?"
He looked at you with the most adorable pout and made grabby hands at you.
"I cant hug you like usually! I cant even surprise you with neck kisses!" He whined more and hitted his head on your hip while you shook your head.
"Fine fine..." you crouched down and hugged him tightly with a kiss on his cheek "Better now?"
"No.. didn't got my kiss." You giggled as he smirked before feeling extremely betrayed when you kissed him on the forehead. "Dove I meant on the lips yeah?"
"Not until you are like this baby! Now come on eat something."
You swore you could hear Hawks saying he was sit on the corner, due to all the sad he got just because of a kiss.
.
.
.
Which movie honey?"
"A scary one I guess?" Keigo's winds flapped as he closed the microwave after taking the bow of popcorn.
"Kids can even watch this?" You joked and he flashed dyou a smirk.
"Well, yeah after all you watch sometimes."
"Excuse me Takami Keigo?"
"What? Did I say anything? I didn't say anything." He chuckled at your irritated face as he took some popcorn and munched as you sitted down with a huff.
"You're lucky you're in this state or else I would have put you to sleep on the couch."
"You wouldn't." You giggled at the henuily scared tone of his childish voice speak before the movie started.
.
.
.
Apparently you were a scary cat, and since Keigi didn't have that glorious delicious chest to hide your face, Takami agreed to watch another movie.
Although not even it reached the half of it and you felt Hawks's head falling your lap... asleep. Cuddling on your leg as if his life depended on it.
"Keigo? Honey?" You whispered while brushing his golden looks out of his face as he only hummed "If your fired than go to sleep sweety, I wont mind."
"No... you.. like... then not... sleeping... just resting eyes..." he mumbled as you softened your gaze and petted his hair.
It must be due to how his childhood body reacted because no way Keigo would be sleeping at 8 p.m. Especially being acustomized to work work work work and ocassionaly take five minutes of rest.
This was actually a pretty good way for him to relax. Keigo himself wouldn't let him relax mostly on his breaks. So this was really good for him.
Although you miss the actual body and face of your boyfriend, you couldn't help but to give another kiss on him, but instead on his nose as soft snores and breaths come out of him.
.
.
.
He got down the few stairs and stared at you opening a box of cake and tilted his head at your actions.
"Can I ask what my little dove is doing?" You looked at him and showing him a ate of a already piece of the cake.
"Tjought on a little dessert to give some more sugar to your life!" You giggled as he sighed.
"All the sugar I need is so close yet so far." He sighed as you rolled your eyes and offered a spoonful of the spongy cake for him.
He blushed crinsom red before looking away.
"I can feed myself (Y/n)..."
"I know bit I thought it would be cute!" You pouted at him as he only looked at you in unpleasant bit with a smirk coming back to life. "Pleaseeee? Honey???"
"Fine..." he rolled his eyes with a smile before parting his lips enough to receive the spoon. "You're enjoying this arent you?"
"For all the teasing you made me when through. Karma is a bktch isn't it? Here comes the airplanes~"
"You do know that I wont stop teasing you after this right?" He smirked at your defeated look before taking the spoonful on his mouth.
"... KEIGO GET BACK HERE YOU-" you ran after the winged hero as he laughed at your distress.
.
.
.
"Hey... dovey?" He mumbled one night as you grunted "... thank you."
You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at him as he held the tears back.
"Is just... my life was marked by loneliness, you know? Before you it was all just an act but ... just looking at you was necessary for me to fall in love. Fall hard you"
you heard in awestruck and with tears of happiness to hear him talking about something so beautiful.
"basically." he laughed before finally looking at you properly "You filled all that emptiness of my childhood in just five days. In that time it was enough to fill the life of the street kid caught by the heroes commission ... with love. So once again-" he cupped your cheek in his much smaller hands with a smile "Thank you (Y/n), my love, for staying and loving the real Takami Keigo."
It was silent for a while until you burried your face on his little chest as he chuckled.
"You're crying babe?"
"N-no.. is just something on my eye." You sniffled as he petted your head.
"Right, so what is in your eye?"
"TEARS YOU JERK! OKAY?! HAPPY?!" you laughed when he laughed at your response.
.
.
.
Hee groaned, but this time he rubbed his hand on your thigh with his hand.. sighing in bliss at your warmth until he forced his eyes open.
The sun lights were bothering you on your sleep and in a common act and without thinking he covered you with his gigantic red wing and returned to bury his face on your head.
... WAIT A SECOND-!
He sitted up with wide eyes, staring at his hands. Which returned back to normal with scars and all as he chucked. Suck that hero commision, it took FIVE DAYS not seven.
You grumbled and asked him on your sleepy state to him what was happening as he crawled on top of you and kissed you passionate, ignoring your yelps of shock and surprise. He needed that kiss let him have the kiss
"Keigo!" You breathed out in shock amd glee at seing him back as he chuckled and pressed more than one hundred kissed on your lips, cheeks and neck. You both panted as Keigo looked down at you with adoration as you cupped his cheek, lovingly how he nuzzled on it searching for your touch even more.
"We so we have two days still on your break birdbrain? What you want to do?" He hummed with eyes closed before going down to kiss your neck and gently suck on your earlobe.
"Maybe catch up on what we planned on the start?" He rotted his hips against yours as you gasped at feeling he was well awake in more ways than one.
"Horny bird.." you whispered teasingly to him as he got up on his elbows to look at you, giving a simple gentle kiss as your hands went into his head to welcome his tongue to twirl against your own.
"Your horny bird." He mumbled between the kisses as you nodded eargly "and you are my baby bird. Mine and mine alone."

The first feeling you felt was numbness. It didn't seem real when your brother called you to tell you the news. You couldn't believe what your brother was telling you. It was shocking and very unexpected.
"Y/N, Mom and Dad were hit by a drunk driver," your brother said to you over the phone. "They went to the hospital but they didn't make it. They're gone."
The funeral was the same day that you had an opportunity for the NXT Women's Championship so you couldn't go, but you won the title. Nothing felt any different. You didn't feel happy or in a celebratory mood. Yeah, maybe you felt borderline content with winning the title, but it didn't help you feel better like you thought you would. You put on a fake smile but cried real tears that day. The confetti fell, everyone was celebrating, and all you wanted was to see your parents' faces in the crowd. They weren't there.
It's been a week since you won the title, and you're still in denial about your brother's call. You've tried calling your parents' phones, hoping they'd answer. You only spoke to their voicemails. You just wanted to hear their voices. It had been a few weeks since you last talked to them, and you wish you talked to them more recently.
You've pushed all your friends away since you've tried to cope with your parent's deaths. You've been so tired, but you haven't been able to sleep at night. Non-stop tears streaming down your face for days, maybe even weeks. You don't even know.
What am I supposed to do when I lose something I can't replace? you think to yourself every night when you lay in bed. The thoughts constantly ring through your mind when you're trying to sleep. Does it get worse than this? Can you handle it if it does get worse than this?
One of your friends, well your boyfriend, asked you if he could come to your apartment today. You told him he can come over. You saw him the day you won your title but you haven't seen anyone in days
You've been hiding out in your apartment, barely eating and not showering. You haven't had any motivation to do anything. Your little one-bedroom apartment is a disaster. Clothes are thrown everywhere in your room, the living room is covered in trash and glasses, and the dishes are piling up in the sink. The title lays on the arm of one of the chairs in the living room.
At almost one in the afternoon, there's a light knock on your apartment door. You get up, brushing your hair out of your face and wiping the tears away that have stained your cheeks. You unlock the door and open it.
Finn Balor stands at your front door in his signature black leather jacket, a black t-shirt, and jeans. He's holding a bouquet of flowers, a bag with snacks, and an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. The tears start again at the kind gesture. "Finn," you cry, walking toward him and hugging him.
"Don't cry," Finn coos. "Come on, let's go dig into these snacks, yeah?"
Nodding, you let Finn walk into the dark apartment. The curtains are all closed, making it darker in the apartment than it is outside. Finn looks around the apartment, setting the bag of snacks down on the kitchen island counter. You stand behind him and look at his view.
"I, um," you say, clearing your throat. "I haven't had the chance to clean it up." Finn turns and looks back at you. Tears well in your eyes. "Actually, that's a lie. I haven't had the motivation to clean it up in weeks."
Your boyfriend sees the tears in your eyes and says, "Hey, that's okay. Ya are going through a lot, Y/N. We can clean it up together and I can help ya in any way ya need me to help."
Nodding, you say, "That sounds nice, Finn. Thank you."
Finn nods and says, "Anything for ya, my love." He walks over to the silverware drawer and grabs spoons. "So, I brought over your favorite ice cream and we can watch some Netflix or Disney Plus. Whatever ya wanna do."
He hands you a spoon and a tub of your favorite ice cream flavor, chocolate chip cookie dough. You take the tub and walk to the couch. You throw the empty boxes of tissues off the couch so Finn can sit. He joins you and grabs the remote, putting on Netflix. You open the tub of ice cream.
"You've been starting a lot of things but ya don't finish watching them," Finn observes. "Ya started so many shows."
You stab at the ice cream and say, "Yeah, I watch it then I get sidetracked with crying." You stab harder at the ice cream and get frustrated. "Why won't this stupid spoon go into the ice cream?"
Finn looks over at you and says, "It's a frozen food, Y/N. It'll defrost a bit if ya give it time."
Getting irritable, you mumble, "Time's not something a lot of us have." His facial expression softens when he hears what you say.
These comments and thoughts aren't uncommon, especially recently. You've been thinking about this a lot while you've spent hours upon hours crying.
You're still stabbing at the frozen ice cream when Finn reaches over. You snap, "I can do it myself."
"I was just trying to help," Finn says, pulling his hands back from you. He's looking at you while you finally get a spoonful of ice cream onto the metal spoon. You take the bite.
"I don't need you to help me with getting ice cream onto a spoon," you say.
Finn looks at you and asks, "Why am I here then? All you're doing is snapping at me and making these comments that you didn't make before."
You say, "You're the one that asked to come over, Finn."
He blinks at you and says, "Because I missed my girlfriend, Y/N. I still do. I don't know who ya are anymore. I don't know this person. Ya disappeared after ya won the title and I didn't hear from ya until I reached out to ask to come over. I probably wouldn't have ever heard from ya if I didn't ask to come over."
While Finn talked, you put the tub of ice cream on the table. When he's done, you say, "My parents died, I didn't get to say goodbye, and you expect me to just be the same Y/N I was before they died. I didn't even get to go to their funeral, Finn. I was too busy winning a title I'll eventually lose anyway. I was winning a title that I don't even deserve." You begin crying again for the millionth time in weeks.
Finn turns so he's facing you as he says, "I never expected ya to be the same Y/N ya were before. I one hundred percent never expected ya to be the same Y/N. I've never lost a parent let alone two so I can't understand the pain and the anger you're feeling right now." He takes your hands in his and holds them while you cry. "Especially because they died so unexpectedly and you didn't get to say goodbye to them."
"Fix me, Finn," you cry to your boyfriend. "I can't keep doing this. I can't keep crying when the smallest thing sets me off like this. I can't have my apartment looking like this." You motion to the messy room around you. "For the first time in weeks, I felt genuinely happy because you were here. I feel like you're the only one who can fix me."
He pulls you into a tight hug and your bury your face into Finn's neck. You cry silently as Finn says, "I'll try to fix ya, Y/N. I can't promise that I can but I'll try. I can't be the only one putting in effort though, baby. I need ya to work with me on this too."
You look up at Finn and you nod, saying, "I can do that." He gives you a soft smile and wipes away your tears before cupping your face. You meet his eyes before he rests his forehead on yours.
Your boyfriend says, "Ya know I'm always here for ya, Y/N. Ya don't have to push me away like I know ya probably want to. I'm in this with ya. Tell me what ya need and we can get started."
"Can we clean my apartment so it looks halfway decent again?" you ask.
Finn laughs a little bit and says, "Of course. I'll get some trash bags and we can start."
Nodding, you pull yourself away from Finn and he gets up. He grabs trash bags from the kitchen and you gather the empty tissue boxes that litter the floor. You grab the used tissues too that missed the tiny trash can you have in the room. Finn returns with an open trash bag and you throw them out.
Then you walk into the kitchen to do the pile of dirty dishes. Finn brings you any glasses, plates, or silverware he finds throughout the living room and dining room areas. He does the same in your bedroom. You do them as he brings them to you.
Your boyfriend being here has given you a little extra motivation you failed to find over the past few weeks. He's helping you clean, and he promised to help try and fix what's going on with you.
You know it won't be easy learning to cope with your parents' deaths, but maybe Finn being around can help you begin to cope. Sometimes having someone to be there for you isn't a terrible idea. So, you make a mental note to see your other friends when you go to NXT tonight.
Step one is to cope with the fact that your parents are gone. Learn to deal with all the emotions you're feeling without keeping them bottled up or snapping on someone because you're feeling emotional. Finn can help you with that, and you're grateful.
It's one step at a time from now on while you learn to cope. You'll figure out step two when you eventually get past step one.
It's close to four when the apartment is cleaned, dusted, swept, vaccummed, and washed. You've even showered and shaved by this time, and dressed in clean clothes that aren't stained with tears or snot. Your hair doesn't look like a bird's nest and you were actually able to put on some makeup so now it looks like you've slept.
You walk into the living room after your shower and find Finn on the couch watching Netflix. You walk up behind him and cover his eyes. "Guess who?" you say by his ear.
"Hm, I don't know," he tease. "Whoever it is actually smells clean."
After gently tapping the back of his head, you uncover his eyes and say, "Jerk."
Finn turns his head and looks at you. He smiles and says, "Look at ya. Ya look good in actual clothes instead of a t-shirt and sweatpants. Not that ya don't look good in a t-shirt and sweatpants but ya have probably been wearing them for days."
You say, "You're the reason I'm actually dressed. You give me a little extra motivation and kick just by being here. Thank you."
He gets on his knees and faces you. "I'm just here to help ya get through this," he says. "Start to finish."
You wrap your arms around his neck and say, "You're the best. I don't deserve this."
Finn says, "Ya don't deserve what happened to ya. We can fly to your hometown so ya can see your family if ya want."
"When I'm a little stronger and I can handle my emotions better we can," you say. Your face falls. "My parents never were able to meet you."
He says, "I don't have to meet them to know that they gave birth and raised one of the most intelligent, athletic, strong, and most beautiful women on this planet. I know they would have went off and started telling me how smart ya are, how strong ya are, how well ya wrestle, and how beautiful ya are. I already know all of that."
Your face gets all flustered as you listen to what Finn has to say. You let him finish before you say, "I wanted them to know how amazing you are, Finn. I wanted them to know that you're taking care of me while I'm thousands of miles away from them."
Your boyfriend climbs over the couch and stands in front of you. "I'm sure they know," Finn says. "If not, I'm sure they do now."
He engulfs you in a hug and you rest your head against Finn's chest. "I know," you sigh. "I'm just glad you're here and trying to help me."
"Fix ya," he reminds you.
You look up at Finn and say, "Yes, fix me." You give a small smile.
Finn says, "Woah, was that a smile? Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen that pretty thing."
Your face gets hot again and you say, "Finn, if you don't stop making me get all flustered."
He chuckles and says, "I'm sorry, mo ghra. Anyway, ya ready to head to the arena? We do have a job to do tonight."
Nodding, you grab your bag and your title. You grab your keys and leave your apartment with Finn.

-Formal Beginnings-
Synopsis: Youâre a pro hero! Youâve been assigned on an undercover mission with a younger (Pre-UA teacher) Eraserhead. Youâve been in battle together before and youâre no stranger to each other. But having to dress in formal attire and infiltrate a lavish mansion full of drug dealing villains, wasnât something either of you are very used to.
-
Word Count: 3,478
Aizawa has worked with you on a few jobs here and there when it was called for. But it was never anything like the task the two of you were assigned tonight. He was used to the quick capture and detain types of missions and they were what he was used to- this was way out of his comfort zone.
---
He sat in the waiting room, the two of you were called in at the last minute as something unexpectedly came up. It was briefly mentioned over the phone what you two would be doing but they were waiting on you to show up before giving a full briefing. It shouldn't be long- he lived closer anyway and had been up doing laundry and cleaning up his less than appealing apartment even if it was already past midnight. He could only assume the call had roused you awake. You had a decent grip on a sleep schedule as far as he could tell.
His suspicions were only confirmed when the doors slammed open to you coming hurriedly in with messy hair and pajamas with your hero suit half sticking out of your bag. He couldn't help but snicker seeing the loose pants covered with cartoon kittens- he never got to see you like this and he found it a bit cute. But he was quickly brought out of his thoughts as you came over and spoke.
âHave you gotten the details yet, or are we waiting on me?â
You were a bit out a breath, no doubt from the run here. He stood up and simply shook his head.
âI have an idea, but no. No details yet.â
He watched as you put your leg up on one of the chairs and balanced your bag on it as you rummaged through it pulling out a hair brush and frantically running it through your locks.
âOkay, good good. Just give me a second to get changed into my suit then we can go i-â
But you were cut off, he glanced up to see the police Chief Tsuragamae had joined them.
âDont bother changing you two will have to be wearing formal wear for this.â
He glanced over to see your confused look as you set the bag down and placed your foot back firmly on the floor- this is the part that was briefly mentioned on the phone to him.
He sighed and shrugged.
âIt's an undercover mission. They want us in formal attire.â He looks up at the dog. âAnd I dont think I'm the best person for this, especially without my capture weapon right?â
The nod of response causes him to huff. The thought of potentially getting into trouble without it didn't sit well with him. He wouldn't be able to protect you if it comes down to it and it gave him a bad taste. But he was sure there was more to the situation if he was specifically put on this job, so he waited for Tsuragamae to continue.
âWe have been watching this group for a few months now, theyâre not big but they seem to be pretty heftily funded- weâve been able to detain a few of the thugs but their leader has a sort of teleportation quirk. Which is why we need you.â
He simply nodded in understanding now. Following the chief into his office with you alongside him as he proceeded to give visuals with his further explanation.
âBecause of his quirk he has always escaped our men and it's only a few days before they start causing trouble again. Theyâre a part of the development of quirk drugs. We managed to track down and interrogate one of the people funding this group. The boss is hosting a party tonight for investors and potential future ones. I know you wont have your capture weapon, but that is why youâre plus one will be Miss Y/N here."
He glances over at you, your quirk has definitely been a helpful one in the past. Like his it wasn't very flashy, you had the ability to halt all movements of anyone you touched. Which certainly would help in detaining someone. You gave him a big smile, he was a little less worried now but still this was all a bit much.
âSo what kinda dress did you pick out for me, it better not be too bright- god forbid if itâs orange.â
You spoke out causing the Chief to smile and hand you each bag and send you on your way. Having further information to your phones.
The both of you went into the police locker rooms together. He pulled out the contents of his bags and immediately grimaced.
âOh come on youâll look great in a tux!â
You were looking at him with a dumb smirk. He was a bit embarrassed, he hated wearing this kind of stuff. He preferred his usual loose fitting comfy clothing. He hesitantly took off the binds that were around his neck and comfortably sat on his shoulders.
âJust something im not used to is all- hope it doesn't restrict movement too muchâ
Once he saw you were turned away, he did the same. It wasn't uncommon for heros to change in the same room. Ones with the same agencies typically shared one common area, and after all they are professionals- just gotta keep it professional⊠he wasn't paying much attention as he changed into the monkey suit, buttoning the pants up and beginning to wrap the belt around his waist when you had gasped completely catching him off guard he almost spun around to look- but had just caught himself.
âWhats wrong- Are you decent?â
You were silent for a bit which had him a bit concerned but when you finally spoke he almost laughed.
âI really like this dress. And yes I am, I just need a little help with the zipper on the back.â
He rolled his eyes but at the confirmation he turned around- and wow. He did have to take a moment watching and looking you over as you admired yourself in the mirror. It was a tight fitting black sequin dress. It dragged a bit behind you but had a slit that had one of your legs sticking out with some matching black heels.
âYou gonna stop ogling or what, we got a party to get to Eraser.â
He was snapped out of his thoughts and had a bit of a blush now but came over close behind you and pinched the top of the dress together and smoothly zipped it up.
âSorry, hard to believe the same girl in baggy pajamas and ridiculous bedhead is the same one im looking at now- thought someone took my partner.â
You gave him a bit of a glare and he smiled- but as you turned around to face him and the mess he left his tie in you shook your head, grabbing the edges of his coat to pull him forward. And undoing the tie to fix it.
âAt least your partner can properly tie, and we need to fix your hair too. Youâre gonna look like a hoodlum going in with that rats nest- no drug investor is gonna look like thatâ
He was at a bit of a loss for words as you pulled him and started to fix what he had screwed up, though he didn't think it was that bad. But oh man, you were way too close for comfort, you were practically pressed up against him- and in that dress he could see right down-
He was startled when you pushed him down and he fell back onto the bench between the lockers and you started running your brush through his hair- this was too much. Even through the mess he was in he couldn't let this continue with how he was getting a few butterflies in his stomach so he waved you off.
âCalm down, I can fix it myself⊠Thank you thoughâ
He had slicked most of it back and tied the top half up as well. Lazily, but still an improvement from before. He looked to you for your approval. Your thumbs up in response brought a slight smile to him.
You two went out the door into the unmarked police car, he opened the door for you before getting in on the other side. The both of you looked over the further details that were sent to your phones. Up until you pulled up to the gate with a large mansion in the back, he got out with you in tow.
âShota, When I think of villain bases, I think of spooky underground cellar types- not, well, thisâ
âOn a first name basis now?â
He watched you a bit confused, you two were a bit close but he doesnt think youâve ever called him by his first name before.
âWhat am I supposed to be calling you Eraserhead around a whole bunch of villains?â
You had a point and gained a chuckle out of him nodding. He was surprisingly a lot less stressed about the whole thing compared to earlier. He's sure that was gonna change at some point. But for now it almost felt like he was taking you on some sort of fancy date. He wouldn't mind something like that, he'd even be willing to get dressed up like this.
You had wrapped your arm around his and walked in unison to the guard standing before the door. Aizawa had given the man the name of the man the police detained and it seems there was no issue as his name was checked off the list, and they were quickly checked to make sure they weren't harboring any weapons before walking in.
He looked down at you as you both looked around and took the place in, âWell Shota, I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so nice here.â
âIt's probably how they get funding, put on a pleasing image and you get more backing. They think they know what the groupâs doing and find it to be a safe investment.â
He glanced down beside him to find you looking up at him- he quickly looked away and continued.
âWell, lets just blend in till we find our guy- then we can make a plan and try to get him secluded⊠so-â he rubs the back of his neck, âcare to dance?â
You were clearly a bit taken aback by his words where he was almost going to take it back and act as he was joking.
âI didn't think you could even dance, I would love to.â
He sighed a bit in relief and took your hand as he kept his voice low, ânot well, but I know enough of the basics.â
So he did, he took your hand and led you out to where other couples were dancing. And held you close while staying in rhythm to the music, started swaying. It was a good place to be after all, they were in the center of the large ballroom and were able to look around to see the target.
He was actively looking around up until you decided to rest your head against his chest as you danced. He wanted to scold you for being unprofessional, but he couldn't deny the fact that he liked the feeling too much to tell you to stop. And with the spinning pattern everyone was dancing in he was able to get a clear view of all the room anyway, no reason to ruin the good time yet. Instead he kept his hand on the small of your back and kept you close.
He did struggle to keep focus, he found himself glancing down at your frame against his more than he cares to admit. But always snapped back to it, you had a job to do after all. He barely was able to spot the man standing on one of the balconies watching the crowd, the target.
âY/N.â
âŠ
âHey, Y/N!â He hissed and it jossled you a bit.
You were clearly zoned out, and having been enjoying yourself maybe a bit too much. Though who could blame you.
âThe targets on one the top balcony, back by the east wing. He seems to have 3 body guards- with one going out and returning every few minutes. We should go while he's alone with them- Itâll make this a lot harder when he decides to join the party and he's surrounded by dozens of peopleâ
Aizawa made his way with you off the main floor, before simply giving you a nudge
âAre you alright?â
You gave a nod in response.
âYeah, sorry, it's just been a while since I've ever danced with someone proper like that. I wont zone out again, don't worry.â
He smiled, having made up his mind on his thought from earlier.
âWell, I don't think Iâd mind taking you out on a fancy date like this. Yaâ know, when our lives aren't on the line.â
Your head practically snapped up to look at him. And once again immediately regretted the forwardness- it was a bit out of line. You were partners, but not in that sense
âI-â
But before he could even start apologizing you got this giddy grin that made his heart skip a beat.
âAre you serious?â
âWell- I mean, yeah.â
He watched as you hummed. âI think that sounds very nice, a fancy night out on the town and some relaxation would be good for you. You're starting to become more of a hermit everytime I see you.â
He rolled his eyes. It wouldn't be for him, if he had to choose a type of date it would be lounging at home watching a movie and then a nap. But the thought of getting to see you in a dress like this again did get him excited.
He could talk about it more and defend his hermit status later, as the two of you were already at the top of the stairs and he motioned for you to be quiet. You both made your way down the hallway up until you stopped and hissed- he was worried something was wrong until he saw you leaning against the wall and taking off the heels.
âThe damn clacking-â
He chuckled and nodded in understanding before spotting one of the guards standing outside the door. If only he had his capture weapon, it would've made easy work immobilizing all of the guards. He tried to think up a plan for a moment- but was drawn out of it by a pair of heels being placed in his hands for him to hold onto as you had stepped out into view. It made his anxiety shoot up for a moment- but hopefully you had a plan since you had revealed yourself.
The guard spoke first. âHey lady, you're not supposed to be up here.â
Shota sat where he was still hidden but watching, the guard clearly didn't see you as a threat yet which was at the very least good. But what were you planning that you couldnt tell him first?
He watched as you- stumbled?
âH-Huh- what me? I'm just- trying to find the bathroom- couldn't find one anywhere I swear-â
You gave a hiccup, oh my god were you pretending to be drunk? It wasn't a bad act but he was still confused. He watched as the guard looked around a moment not seeing anyone did he smile at Y/N.
âAh Miss youâve gone all the wrong ways- why don't yaâ let me take yaâ don't worry yerâ in safe hands.â
Shota grimaced and felt a bit sick, how disgusting and low men could get. So far to try something even while on the job. And just thinking about a man taking advantage of you made his blood boil.
But as he put an arm around Y/N the conditions were met for her to activate her quirk and he finally saw what she was going for as the guy went stiff as a board as every muscle in his body locked up, jaw and tongue included so he couldn't speak.
You slipped out from under his arm and made your way back to him with a pleasant smile on your face.
âI think my acting is pretty up there ain't it.â
He wasnât very amused by the whole thing, âyou could've at least told me you know, could've done something better than playing a drunk victim.â
âGot the job done didn't it. Only two guards and the target to go right?â
He sighs, you had a point. It just didn't sit well with him and gave him a sour taste. He gave a nod as he looked at the door, the three should be just on the other side.
âAlright I got an idea.â
---
He explained to you quietly and swiftly. That this had to be an instant take down. Otherwise they risked the chance of alerting the others in the building, and that would make things a mess and the target would probably instantly escape. He had to use his quirk on the boss instantly otherwise it was game over. The entrance to the balcony was a double door opening outwards, each of you would hide on each side. Make a noise and as they came out to investigate, you each would pop out. He would use his quirk on the boss on the balcony and deal with his guard the old fashioned way. You would use your quirk to stun the guard and bolt and do the same on the target before they had a chance to call for help. It was simple enough and straight to the point but he thought it was the best option given your circumstances. When you had eagerly nodded in agreement you both took your places to the side of the large oak doors.
He gave a final nod to you and you returned it. He picked up the pair of heels heâd been holding and wasted not a moment more to toss them in front of the door, the hard plastic making a loud enough clap against the tile floor that it was only a few seconds before the door hesitantly opened and the two guards peered out guns drawn. It was time to go.
He sprung out along with you. A little bit further to get a view of the boss in the back, his hair going high as he made sure this guy wasn't going anywhere. But there was also the gun in his face he had to deal with- good thing you caught them by surprise, they weren't ready to pull the trigger. He bobbed to the side and with a swift movement popped the bottom of the guys jaw with his elbow. He dropped his gun and before he even hit the floor you were already on the target and had locked up both of the men.
He gave a sigh of relief, but quickly helped you move the men off the balcony before you had any peeping eyes overseeing the catastrophe.
âIt's nice seeing you get physical- most times I see you its just all about manipulating that scarf of yoursâ
âWhat, didn't think Iâve had combat training?â
He raised a brow looking you over, your quirk really was amazing and it came in handy on many occasions. Now especially since he can't deny someone's quirk for more than a few minutes at most. Yours lasted hours.
He pulled out his phone, âIm gonna call the chief, we got the guy they wanted. The force can come in and wrap the rest of this up.â
You simply hummed in agreement as you picked back up your heels slipping them back on, your feet were getting cold simply standing on the polished tile.
---
Before you knew it Tsuragamae had waves of armed police flood the building. And since the security in this place made such a point of disarming the guests, there wasn't much of a struggle. And the target was quickly carried off into custody.
âIâd say that was a mission success!â
He looked over at you as you both sat on an outside bench. His overcoat wrapped around your shoulders, it and your hair swaying gently with the breeze as you swirled and sipped off a champagne glass you had grabbed amongst the chaos on the way out.
You both sat in silence watching as police came in and out of the building with bundles of the party guests, sticking around just in case there was a need for your assistance.
But since you both were simply waiting, he smiled as he thought heâd bring up a bit of conversation. Shifting his weight and leaning over some.
âŠ
âSo how about that date?â

Word count: 3k
Beta: @mysticalhood (she also wrote quite a bit. I love u sm)
A.N: hi sorry itâs actually been ages since Iâve written something but this has been a work in progress for ever and ty really wanted me to finish it and I even let her help me a bunch. Anyways feedback is always appreciated!!! Hope you guys like it :^)
ââââââ
âWe can make this work.â Calum sat on the right side of your bed looking at you. âDistance has nothing on my love for you.â He had told you he got accepted to his dream school which happened to be three states away from your dream school. The thought scared you. You know the odds, kids who try to date after high school usually break up within the first month of being apart. You watched it happen to your brother and the girl he dated all throughout high school. She broke up with him three days after she moved into the dorms. He was heartbroken. You didnât want that.
âYou say that now Calum.â Your breath hitched a little âwhat happens when you see all the beautiful girls at your new school?â You pulled your knees up to your chest as you sat beside him.
âI love you Y/N. Do you not trust me?â He placed his hand on your back rubbing circles trying to calm your nerves.
âI trust you Cal. Iâm just nervous.â Calum pulled your body into him and wrapped his arms around you.
âIâm nervous too. But I know I want you for the rest of my life.â He placed a soft kiss on your forehead
1.5 year later
âCal. Cal. Cal.â The chants echoed through the large house as Calum was stood on a table chugging a forty taped to his hand. Once the last drop had dribbled down his throat he let out a celebratory cheer throwing both hands up in the air.
âYouâre an absolute man Cal.â Brad helped him off the table. He wobbled a little due to all the alcohol he just consumed.
âHell yeah!â He high fived a passing by fraternity brother as he spoke his phone vibrated in his pocket. âOh hold up Y/N is callingâ
âOh yeah âY/Nâ when are we gonna meet this âgirlfriendâ of yoursâ Cal shoved his hand in the boys face as a response.
âHi baby! Wassup?â His words were starting to slur together. You could hear the party going on on the other side of the phone.
âOh shoot are you at a party? Iâll call later.â You rushed out the sentence.
This has been the norm for you two lately. Youâd call him and heâd be at a party or hanging out with his frat bros. When heâd call you youâd be studying or sleeping which is basically all you did. You havenât had a decent conversation in weeks. You knew it was rush week and heâd be busy just didnât expect him to be this busy. He loved the frat life. That made you nervous. You know how frat guys are. Actually it made you really nervous. Your mind typically wonders late at night. Youâd lay in your small bed looking at the wall that was plastered with pictures of you and Calum. Mostly goofy pictures of him. Some old school dance pictures that his mom took. Youâd stare at them and wonder what your boyfriend was up to.
Calum spent most of his time at the frat house. He got invited to live in the house this term which he gladly accepted. You could say he was living his best life. He was getting consistently good grades effortlessly while having the best college experience.
The only problem was that you werenât there with him. He constantly thought about you no matter where he was or what he was doing.
Lately, itâd been harder to keep in touch with each other. You were in two different worlds, trying to be there for one another.
âNo, no I can talk now!â He pushed away from the crowd, trying to make his way to the back patio. Once he got outside he faintly heard his name being called from the beer pong table across the lawn. He tried to drown it out and focus on what was happening on the other line.
âWhatâs going on?â He continued the conversation with his back turned to the rest of the people in the backyard.
âIâm just kinda stressed⊠about exams and everything.â You voice was quiet and uneasy. He could hear the emotion bubbling in your throat. Even miles apart, not being able to actually see your face he knew what was happening on the other side of this call.
âDude! Calum! You have to play Brianna and Hannah from Kappa are playing and we gotta show them whoâs boss around here.â Trevor was standing behind him waiting for a response
âCan you give me 5 minutes please and then Iâll play.â He dismissed Trevorâs comment indicating he needed some space. He walked further into the backyard towards the edge of the fence.
âCal, if you wanna go and play. I don't wanna hold you back.â
âY/N. Iâm here for you. Tell me about your day. I miss you so much.â
âI miss you too. I think I failed my bio exam today. Iâve been trying to get a ticket out to see you but nothing seems to be falling into place for me. Ugh i just miss you so much cal.â
He closed his eyes with a sigh and dropped his head, âItâs alright. Y/N, youâre one of the smartest people I know. Youâve been studying for that exam for a month. Thereâs no way that you could have failed it. Just calm down and take a deep breath because you are going to ace all of your exams.â
âI really needed to hear that. Thanks baby.â You pushed the phone closer to your ear as if that would bring him closer to you. You could hear the party still roaring in the background. âIâm gonna let you go now. I love you and have fun.â You laid across your bed, opening one of your textbooks, and preparing for another night of studying.
âI love you too. Iâll talk to you as soon as I can.â He hung up the phone and turned around to find Trevor. He noticed Trevor, Brianna, and Hannah chatting to one another as they waited on him so they could start the game. When Calum walked up to the table Trevor handed him a beer.
âHow was the âgirlfriendâ?â He joked as he stood next to Cal. Calum retorted with a small shove as he rolled his eyes.
âShut up Trev and just throw the ball.â He pointed to the cups on the other side of the table.
Trevor held his hands up defensively with a small smirk on his face, âOkay, Iâll back off. Iâm just saying that weâve never actually seen this girlfriend you talk about all the time. Right, Hannah?â
âLetâs just play the damn game alright?â He huffed and grabbed one of the balls from Trevorâs hand and launched it, landing it in the cup.
After Calum and Trevor demolished them in beer pong, Hannah walked over to Calum, batting her eyes with a small smile as she placed her hand on his bicep. âMaybe I could give you a prize for winning up in your room,â she flirted, shooting him a fast wink.
Calum took a step away from her reach as he responded, âNo, Hannah. What the fuck is wrong with you? You know I have a girlfriend.â
She rolled her eyes, âYour girlfriend doesnât have to know. It could be our little secret.â She tried to step closer to him, but he backed away again.
âI couldnât do that to her. I love her too much.â
Hannah scoffed, âWe donât even know if she actually exists. Why donât you loosen up? Youâre easily the finest boy in this fraternity-- everyone knows it-- so why donât you get any action?â
Calum clenched his jaw, âI donât have to discuss this with you. I suggest you go find your sorority sisters and have a nice night.â He gave her a tight lipped smile, walking back inside with his hands in his pockets. Calum made his way through the crowded party and up the stairs to his room. Once his head hit the pillow he was out.
Calum woke up in the same clothes the next morning. He reached for his phone to call you. You answered on the third ring just like always.
âHello? Itâs early you should be asleep.â Your voice was soft as you tried not to wake your roommate.
He hummed in response, âI wanted to talk to you before your exam. Youâre going to blow it out of the park, sweetheart.â You let out a small chuckle. Calum always believed in you, no matter what.
âThanks baby. How was the rest of the party?â Calum let out a loud sigh into the speaker causing you to pull the phone away from your ear a little. âGeez what happened?â
âThis dumb sorority girl said something like im not getting the action I deserveâŠâ Your jaw fell open. You slipped out of your bed and put some slippers and headed into the hallway so you could talk above a whisper.
âOh, is that so?â You tried to control your tone. âThen why donât you go out there and get the âaction you deserveââ You threw your arm up in the air in frustration.
âY/N I totally shut her down and told her how much I love you.â Calums voice raised a little. He on the other hand didn't care who heard him. âI donât want anyone else, youâre the one. Iâve been telling you this since junior year of high school.â He let out another deep sigh. âHow many times do i have to tell you that before you finally understand that iâm not going anywhere.â You were silent on the other side. You slid down the wall in front of your dorm and sat with your knees tucked to you chest.
âI gotta go. Iâve got my big math exam.â Your voice was a little shaky as you said the next part. âLove you.â You heard the sound of the call disconnecting before he said those words back to you.
Calum made his way down the stairs to the kitchen where he found Chad, Trevor, and Brandon sitting at the kitchen island.
âGirlfriend troubles?â Brandon hit Calum on the shoulder as he walked by. âBeen there man, itâll be okay.â Brandon was the only one who was supportive about Y/N.
âDude you guys fight a lot and never talk, why are you still with her?â Chad shoved a fork full of eggs into his mouth mid sentence making it a little difficult to understand what he said. Calum knew exactly what was said and he didn't like it.
âChad, Iâm fucking over you being this way. I have a girlfriend that I absolutely adore, yeah we fight sometimes and we rarely get to see each other but she's my girlfriend bro.â Calum didnât know where this anger was coming from. But it was finally time to let out what he was feeling out into the world.
âCalm down, Cal. Iâm just stating my fucking opinion. Donât be mad at me that you get laid once every year,â he held his hands up in defense, smirking a bit at his slight jab at Calum.
Calum slammed his fist on the counter, turning to face Chad. âI didnât ask for your opinion. I never asked for your opinion on anything pertaining to my relationship with Y/N. If I donât get any action, then so be it. At least I have the balls to stay loyal to the girl I love,â he spat, gaining a few mutters from the others in the vicinity.
****
It had been two weeks since the argument with Chad broke out. Calum has spoken to you a few times about the fight and how everyone in the house had been acting.
You decided it was time you go visit. Since you just finished your last exam for the term you booked a plane ticket to see Calum at school. Finding the time to coordinate with Brandon was a little difficult. Brandon was the only one who believed Calum had a girlfriend and when you reached out to him to organize this surprise he was beyond excited.
âOkay I land at 2:30pm make sure youâre there and make sure cal doesnât knowâ you fly out later today and you were extremely nervous
âAh man Iâm so excited to see the look on Chads face when you roll upâ Brandon was laughing on the other end of the call.
âMe either. That guys a prick! Okay I gotta finish packing.â You held the phone up to your ear with your shoulder as you tried to zip you bag up âsee you soonâ he muttered a response and you hung up. Sliding your laptop in your backpack. You scanned your room one last time making sure you werenât forgetting anything.
Calum woke up late and scrambled to grab his stuff and run to his last exam. He shot you a quick text before turning his phone off and putting it in his pocket.
âYou didnât call me this morning! I almost missed my exam. Anyways love u have a good day loveâ
Your plane landed on schedule. The thought of your flight being delayed and having to wait another day to see Calum made your stomach turn fortunately everything was going smoothly.
After you grabbed your bags you looked at the crowd trying to recognize Brandon from his pictures on Instagram and the ones that Calum has sent you.
âY/N!â you heard a voice from behind you, turned around, and saw a tall boy making his way to you with a smile on his face.
âUghâ he embraced you in a tight hug which you reciprocated. âItâs so nice to finally meet you!â He let go and nodded
âYou too! Calum talks about you all the time.â He laughed as a rosy color rose to your cheeks. âWell what are we waiting for letâs go get your man!â He grabbed your duffel bag from you and headed towards the parking garage.
You arrived at the house before Calum. Brandon quickly introduced you to everyone that was downstairs when you arrived and then hurriedly rushed you upstairs. You threw your bag under Calumâs very messy room so he wouldnât notice it when he first walks in. You heard the front door open and checked your watch.
âHeâs right on time. Thatâs surprisingâ you laughed as Brandon stood pointing at the closet.
âGet in.â He moved his arm and pointed again indicating you needed to get in right away. Once you closed the door you could hear Brandonâs footsteps descend the stairs.
When Calum walked in the front door everyone was staring at him.
âWhat are you guys looking at?â He questioned when he threw his backpack on the couch. No one responded just stared a little bit harder.
âBrandon what is going on?â He questioned the boy who just ran down the stairs.
âOh nothing really.â He shrugged his shoulders. âBut there is a gift up in your room.â
âGuys if youâre trying to ice me right now. Iâm not in the moodâ Calum slowly made his way up to his room. âSeriously guys. Iâm not gonna drink it.â He yelled from the top of the stairs. He threw the comforter off the bed as soon as he walked into his room expecting to see the bottle of alcohol precariously perched on his pillow but found nothing. Brandon stood in the doorway watching Calum look around.
âHi baby.â You opened the door to the closet and slid out. Calum swing around at the familiar sound of your voice. He immediately grabs you and pulls you into a hug. You wrap your legs around his waist.
âOkay big guy put me down nowâ your laugh intensified in the small room almost bouncing off the walls and ringing into Calumâs ears. He loved that sound.
âWhat the heck are you doing here?â He shook your shoulders a little as he spoke. Which got another laugh out of you.
âMe and Brandon planned this surprise for you! Iâve missed your sweet face!â You cupped his smiling face as he looked down on you lovingly.
âFaceTime doesnât even compare.â He leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on your lips. Neither of you wanted to pull apart.
âSorry to break up the reunion but uh⊠Chad just got home and i'd really like to see his face when you both walk downstairs.â Brandon looked giddy as he spoke. Calum grabbed your hand and you both headed downstairs Brandon following behind.
You could hear all the boys muttering downstairs.
âChad. Thereâs someone I want you to meet.â Calum pulled you in front of him you reached your hand out for chad to shake. âThis is my girlfriend y/nâ
âItâs so nice to meet you.â You tried to hold back all the jokes and malice comments you could say to this dickhead. He grabbed your hand and his jaw fell.
âI didnât think you were real.â He stood there in shock. âIâm sorry manâ he looked back at Calum.
âItâs whatever. Youâre still an asshole thoughâ Calum and the rest of the boys started laughing while Chad just stood there trying to understand the whole situation.
Calum looked down at you âare you hungry?â You smiled and replied. âAlways.â He grabbed your hand and led you out the front door.
